Now the real question is: Did you win this game?

If you did, then it's not like it helped them much? And if you didn't then you must've ######### up horrifically later on to not win with that much pressure at 4 gens.

The devs are aware that DS lasts too long and they want to change the more abusive side of it to prevent situations like this, btw.

thing is the devs are aware that it is being abused and yet they are more apt to look at the ruin/undying combo that has only been out for 3 months and not the ds/bt combo that has been out for years and abused more? makes you wonder.

Lets nerf Tinkerer to be disabled if the killer attempts to progress the game.

like this is comparable? well i can tell you it is not since i do play both sides and I recognize that DS needs a tuning to make it a more balanced and better perk while still being strong. but tinkerer is no where near the level of DS one bit.

What makes you think DS is strictly anti-tunnel?

For the record, they are invincible if you choose to tunnel. If survivors are magically disabled for doing actions, then so should killer perks. It is amazing killers think Tinkerer is fine as it is, a perk that literally PUNISHES the other side for doing the objective. No counterplay.

they did not say that ds was anti-tunneling but used that as allegory because most here say ds is anti-tunnel (which devs have refuted) and the comparison made was honestly very badly done. tinkerer has no where near the power that ds has. they are not invincible only if you choose to tunnel.... I've littereally hooked PERSON A, gone and downed b and c, hooked b and c while d unhooked A (with ds) then while b and c were hooked i went and found d, downed and hooked them now all that was left was person a as b and c were still on hooks. so I patrolled and found A a bit later, downed and suddenly blammo hit with DS.... I was punished for being to effecient, not because I tunneled but because I had 3 people on hooks at any one time, and while A had the 5 seconds, they unhooked b and c then as i was chasing them i ended up loosing d's hook and they opened the door and got out at that point because i was trying to get them the momentum was on their side (B had wakeup ironically and I was playing trapper) but anyways it's 60 seconds of invincibility and no timer over the head to keep track of how long they've been unhooked for so yea no it's not just something to prevent tunneling or momentum and what not but it can punish a killer for doing their job efficiently.

I don't think it would kill the game but it certainly would experience a drop in player basis. SOOOOOOO many people would suddenly suck if their 2nd chance perks were taken away from them. It's like when you remove aim assist from CoD and those players can't hit the broad side of a barn.

the survivors have so many second chance perks it's not even funny about 3-4 times the amount the killers have. and thus the survivors can make bad plays and intentionally harass the killer. and when they do that and others do gens the killers can't do anything to counter this so yea it's crappy that killers have to work harder and more efficiently than survivors but it's how the game is made. oh want to know some fun facts? when I take a ds early in game hunt that one down, slug them and then go after the others, forcing the one down to use unbreakable EARLY in the game and thus later i will tunnel them for their 2nd and third hook just to show them how it feels. otherwise i don't tunnel but when someone's on a gen that i know was not even started and it's almost done and i grab them and they ds me that's bs because i wasn't just standing behind them and them on the gen it is me hunting and then found them again and blamo ds? what?

Put a farther limit to Char's hook range switch and make it so Victor will despawn if a Survivor is hooked too close to him. Victor needs to be able to take down locker hiding players, he's already running the risk of being squashed or downing someone too far from Char.

Ruin/Undying has not effect on healing, so I don't know why that was brought up. It's far more powerful on higher mobility Killers like Blight or Spirit. Sloppy helps Victor track. He can't see scratch marks... another reason to bother healing. Solos should bring medkits anyway, I do.

so they will slug and then hook. there already is a a time limit victor can be out and not controlled, there are several ways that survivors can get victor to go back including the kick, pallet and after 45 seconds of being on their back. you want to hamstring someone even more? wow.

You type a lot of words, but in the end you're refusing to engage with the substance of what I'm saying, and instead you're offering all these whataboutisms and the classic "if you don't like, it leave." I'm not actually ready to leave the game, thanks, I still find it fun--it's just certain killers I don't enjoy playing against as a survivor, which is what we're talking about here. Is it your position that anyone with anything critical to say about the game should just stop playing? That's not a very productive attitude, friend.

I'm sorry to say, but in my experience--and again, nobody has anything but personal/anecdotal experiences to draw on here, it's not like anyone's taken a poll of the entire playerbase--survivors playing at a reasonably high level don't enjoy playing against the killers I've mentioned, for one very simple reason.

They take chases, which are the primary form of interactive gameplay you have as a survivor, and make them far less interactive (read: less options, less mindgames, less to do) than other killers. I'm glad you manage to find it in you to take even broken mechanics like iridescent heads and find something to have fun with, but do you really think you're anything but a tiny minority in that sense? Similarly, I'm glad you can play against killers like deathslinger and pyramid head who have no real counterplay in chases and practice your skills of "avoidance and escape." There are many players--killers included--who, to put it very plainly, despise stealth gameplay. If you look at the kind of content that people like to watch, which I think is a decent metric for what keeps people interested in the game, I don't think you'll find many stealthy highlight compilations. You'll find good chases and jukes. People aren't putting thousands of hours into this game to hide in a bush.

And we haven't even touched on the fact that the Twins are actively encouraged to facecamp or at least proxy-camp every single hook by design. Are you seriously going to argue that that's healthy for the game?

I'm not sure us continuing to discuss these issues is going to be productive, because my experiences and knowledge of the game and playerbase is telling me that these killers are unfun to play against for the reasons I've outlined, and yours are telling you the opposite. In the absence of hard data, we're at an impasse.

That said, from everything I've heard, seen, watched, and experienced, I think how I feel is more in line with how the majority of the playerbase feels. But since I've got no way to convince you and you have no way of convincing me, I'll leave it at that.

I did not say anyone with anything critical to say about the game should leave but instead I said if you were bored with the game then leave. why play a game that is boring to you? It seems that you are the one that is not being open minded. You can be critical of the game and still be respectful (people are very disrespectful here on the forums, please note I did not say you were), you can make suggestions without being flippant, and discuss things without wanting to insult others. I did not insult you and yet you are the one telling me how I am thinking. If no one has anything but anecdotal information then you are one too. What is fun for you may not be fun for me and the same vice versa, you can not dictate to me what fun should be like and I never did that what so ever I only talked about what I know and have seen here on the forums.

Speaking of Stealth game play and what people find exciting to watch that is a laugh though because I love stealth game play. why? because it's a challenge to stay unnoticed. and there is an emblem that even talks about not being seen by the killer and it only takes into account the idea of winning a chase yet how is that "not seen" by a killer. I will go in, save, heal, gens, totems, get in chases etc as I see it is needed. many times the killer is hooking someone on the other side of the match and i'm on a gen, when i get off the gen to go safe they are almost immediately rescued and i then have to go back to my gen. then I have to move to another gen once that one is done and move on. As killer the only stealth that irritates me is the fact that two people decide that they should no longer further the game and they stealth and take the game hostage at that point because a killer that isn't doc can't flush them out. Now about people "WATCHING" the game, that's great they want to see chases, jukes and mind games but I don't play by who is watching me play I play the way I feel is necessary. oh and about stealth again when it's the final one AND the killer there is the hatch open that the killer can close to push the game to a closure because of EGC but when there are 2 and they aren't working on gens anymore then why should it be ok to hold the game hostage just to try and win?

and you know your feelings is inline with over 30K or more of the player base? or just the ones that post here? and to be honest I've seen streamers talk about this and they don't camp or proxy camp the hooks and they do just fine with the twins. I've got over 3K hours in the game and as you said I feel my ideas are inline with over half the player base because they mirror many people that talk here, many streamers and people that I know. as to camping, did I say it was healthy? I did not I said it was allowed just like slugging, just like tunneling and honestly if I need to put pressure on someone i'm going to do what I need to in order to bring the game to a close, I personally don't see what face camping does though unless you have insta downs to multiply your hooks. proxy camping is a lovely term, I will hook someone and if I suspect someone is in the area I will check all around and then finally leave when i clear the area. That is just being smart not camping what so ever yet I'm a camper when I do that. I think you and I can claim to be in tune with over half the player base but it's a baseless claim because you don't know the mind of over 30,000 people and the number here on the forum number about 1-10% of the active player database. I placed my claim solely to show you how ridiculous that claim is, not that I think that to be hones and I showed how it is here as well. I think you may have hit the nail on the head saying that it's almost pointless to talk to someone who won't consider opinions of other people which you are not doing when you summarily dismiss mine by saying that i'm not engaging, that I'm saying whataboutisms (as you say) and totally and utterly intentionally misreading my statement to make your statements and opinions more truthful. You will notice that I did not do that with you I just discussed your points with my counter points. enjoy!

    You're assuming a lot, friend.

Oni is fine. Spirit is not fun to play against. A god Nurse also isn't much fun to play against but they're so rare it doesn't matter.

Iri heads and ebony moris are obviously broken and anyone who says otherwise isn't arguing in good faith.

You know what else, though? Keys are broken and unfun. DS as it currently exists is broken and unfun. There are other perks, especially when stacked by SWFs, that are not fun.

Thing is, everyone who's paying attention already knows all that.

I'm not interested in pointing out, ad nauseum, what everyone already knows.

What I am interested in is pointing out this trend in killer design that I believe is going to slowly throttle the game if it continues in the long term. I think that keys and moris will be relatively simple to rework when the devs get around to it. Plenty of people have already pointed out commonsense changes to Spirit that would make her a little more interactive. Perks like DS should also be relatively simple to make a little less exploitable, even if some survivors will be salty.

But deathslinger, pyramid head, and now the twins have all been released with killer powers that make them unfun and noninteractive to play against for survivors (note I'm not saying they're necessarily "overpowered", just unfun). That's something I think is worth discussing. I play plenty of killer myself, this isn't about one side vs the other for me--it's about the health of the game and ensuring both sides have a good time, which is totally possible, it just doesn't seem to be something that's being prioritized as much as it should be.

pyramid head and deathslinger have powers that make them unfun and noninteractive to play against for survivors you too should be careful what you are saying, *I PERSONALLY*, as well as many of those I play with and talk with, enjoy going against these killers as it helps hone skills of avoidance and escape. You may not like them but hey guess what! you are not everyone and you can not speak about everyone (your statement litterally included me and others that do have fun with these killers on our tail which is incorrect). I included oni and spirit because people complain about them being unfun, broken, and other things. I was being a generalist where as you went to the specific. I also have fun against iri head huntress, I treat it as a challenge to dodge as I can and if i'm downed i'm downed.

This is a game. if you are finding something unfun, please feel free to move on to something that will give you the fun. Overwatch from my understanding is not fun to many now, but still there are those that are having lots of fun with it. I am gonna be blunt here but I don't see the "slow throttling" what I do see is a great deal of survivors complaining and they are hardly touched (but still touched none the less) while killers are given mediocre abilities unless you are high tier capability, as well as things that just do not help while the survivors get all the tools to win but we are told to deal with it. then these topics come along and it always devolves into the same thing "killer main" vs "Survivor main" and yes you have brought up both sides in your post I will acknowledge that and applaud you for that because not many here do. I also will admit your brought up more things, but some items you brought up end up being ignored and rarely does anyone outside of the killer main group say that DS needs to be changed, so be aware of what things happen here but you were not one side or the other which is very refreshing.

  • Soul Guard, tap's perk that lets you crawl faster and recover at the same time combined with unbreakable there is always no mither, unbreakable and that's all I can think of at this moment but there are things to do that could easily help and if you don't know them why are you even complaining since you apparently only know the few things you use and don't care anyways. still it's better than some of the killers have.

    @nskc said:

It's funny to see people responding to completely legitimate criticism of a new killer, from a survivor perspective, with statements like "deal with it."

The point isn't that rules are being violated or even that the Twins are necessarily too strong or unfair. The point is that the mechanics of the killer encourage (actually require, honestly, if you want to do well) gameplay that is not fun for 4 of the 5 people in the game. The Twins have an unparalleled ability to facecamp survivors and Victor is best used as a slugger/snowballer, and is very powerful at this assuming he is used correctly and the player doesn't leave him exposed constantly by going for risky lunges.

Anyone who cares about the overall health and longevity of the game should care that 3 out of 4 of the most recently released killers are considered unfun to play against by a large number of survivor players. Considering, again, that this game needs 4 survivor players for every killer, that is not a good precedent.

thing is for every 4 players playing survivor there is one player that is playing killer. are the killers supposed to just roll up and let the survivors win every time? let me guess this is along the lines of iri head hatches, billy and bubba, ONI and Spirit and Nurse as well... lets just get rid of the ones people don't like to play against. well if that's the case, lets get rid of things the killers don't like to play against. we are playing a game with two sides, doesn't matter that 4 people don't like what 1 person does, because there are thousands of players playing killer and thousands of players playing survivor. many of those play both sides. so you can't make it a he said, she said issue (or what ever pronouns you want to use) but you know it's always this is tooo hard for survivors, yet I see survivors getting out, i wonder why that is if this is such an issue. I'm not saying that it's perfect as it is FAR from perfect, but you place too much emphasis on one person when it's other people that also factor into the issue.

    @Freki

Tell that to the killers who thought slugging at 5 gens was a good idea, but because the game “allows” them to do it they did it anyway. Yet they still complained about UB.

Point in the matter is that 4 Unbreakables aren’t going to counter the type of excessive slugging some killers are encouraged to do. It’s the reason I have come to despise Onis because 99% of them play this way.

Simply put. Out of the 10 times you can get slugged as a team, 4 are guaranteed to get you up ... that is if the killer isn’t camping your body at dying state.

again the rules do not preclude slugging, nor does it preclude combining unbreakable with ds. and as I said unbreakable is not complained about by it's own, as it is not specifically overpowered. if you want to talk about unbreakable being complained about you might need want to talk about it in the way it is being complained about. I will not tell it to anyone because that is not my job, but does it matter if the killer does this at 5 gens remaining or at 0 gens remaining when it is not against the rules? use proper information when you are complaining here and move from complaining to being supportive and working to find a way to fix it and the devs will listen but might not agree with you and thus not do anything with your information as is their right. there is no reason to worry, and yes i've been slugged many times and it is irritating, but you know what? i move on and speak my mind to that killer if I can and move to the next game that is all.

yeah there are counters to slugging.. like a perk named unbreakable, but killers complain about that a lot and even call it toxic or overpowered because it offers counterplay.

    @Johnny_XMan said:

    @Freki

Slugging being a built in mechanic that can easily be abused is what the problem is.

This is the first game I have played where the killer can virtually slug when/as many times as they want with little to no downside.

This is also a problem when it just guarantees that the “meta” will never change. Which as far as I am concerned, based on complaints in these forums and even in-game ones killers feel that UB is more common than not.

Slugging should have a built-in down side when done excessively, not just because it’s annoying but because it’s healthy for the game too.

First of all Unbreakable by itself is not a problem and not complained about on its own. it is limited in how it work and is still a good balance, it is only complained about when combined with DS where you can SLUG someone and have to wait for one minute before picking up and if left alone the unbreakable lets the survivor get back up and continue on. sure that's how the interaction works but it's weaponized by people that get off of hooks to block the killer from going after the one that removed them from the hook. and this is what is complained about and is there. now there are multiple ways to get yourself up and unbreakable is just one such tool. the complaints on the new killer is not really about it's slugging by most but by the bugs that prevents people from learning best ways to play the killer. this killer is also a body blocker too but no one has brought this up on the forums it's all about sluging this or slugging that. body blocking for short periods are allowed ie: survivors blocking the hook while the survivor on shoulder wiggles free, a bubba or billy that revs the chainsaw followed by a strike are ok, but to block in and suck everything by a mikie for T3 is too long. they expanded the basement stair because of killers blocking the escape of survivors so now this means they can be blocked again, but no one brought this up here it's only oh no!!!! I can't stand being slugged! it's BORRRRRRRING! this is the problem people are looking for problems only and not ways to help the fixes to be put in.

No unbreakable alone is not toxic or overpowered, but combined with other perks it can be part of overpowered builds. and nothing is done to the survivors meta but the killer's meta is always changing, why is that? because too many whine here.

I mentioned tinkerer because that's what everyone and their mother runs with ruin and undying and BBQ. You'd be sacrificing a perk slot to keep your totems safe (if, theoretically, undying didn't already help you with that...), so you'd probably get rid of tinkerer in your build.

nah, i'll keep undying instead of thrill, it's in a good spot.

A fix like the old Legion is what I am asking, and on a broader spectrum a fix to the unfun things in the game like genrushing/slugging, ruin/UD, DS/UB etc etc

Tbh I don't see why slugging is even a thing in 2020, but well that's me.

Anyway, do you think I should just log off DBD for a while? I am a bit hesitant as I have just bought the new chapter and wanted to level up the chars but at the same time I am not enjoying the situation at all

your choice if you stop playing for a while. I vowed not to buy the characters or the dlc till the main bugs are fixed. I play a few matches a day and I have lots of fun, even if i'm slugged i have fun. I play killer too! funny when i play killer I don't slug unless someone is right there so i go after them because i'm not giving someone a free pass. Slugging is pressure, when two are slugged the other survivors have to go there and that reduces further the gens being worked on. and the legion fixes (the moon walking issue, the two blades issue, etc) were fixes to bring the character into line with how it was supposed to be, you are not making a good comparison what so ever. Slugging is as much a part of the game as looping is part of the game.

  • bring deliverance? bring perks that help you hide your sounds like iron will and calm spirit. don't wear bright clothing in the match. learn your skill checks , pay attention and avoid the killer... that is how you avoid dying on first hook.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1793583#Comment_1793583

Um yeah it will defend totems, it takes longer to break and you get a notification from it. So taking Thrill will help keep your totems alive but you'd sacrifice tinkerer. You'd have a weaker combo but it would still be good.

And object lighting up when you're looking in the killer's direction instead of giving you the aura is actually a good idea for a nerf to the perk.

Hey you're really good at suggesting changes! You're right, I would enjoy my survivor AND killer games more with these ideas!

    1) it does not protect totems in the same way as thrill does. and where did sacrificing tinkerer come form I didn't even mention it??? I'm confused

    2) I didn't even want it to LIGHT UP or for it to stay lit up the whole time. I was giving you a version of what you are ASKING for from the killer side. so you want undying to not give an aura thus not have to use distortion, det. hunch, a pink map etc I say we make Object not show any indication what so ever to the survivor.

learn to adapt, stop complaining and move on.

None of this happened till 2018 so what gives Dev's?

    Sincerely, DynastyFaytTTV

they get rid of them as they are found out. in order to find cheaters out other players need to submit reports at the scoreboard page AND then go open a support ticket to give proof of a cheater to the devs, if you only do the first and not the second or don't even do the first then you need to stop asking because you're the problem instead of the cheater because you allow the cheater to not be seen by the devs and therefore condone their existence.

Again, I will say it once more in case I didn’t explain myself well enough the first time. I don’t care if they stream their game.

My question is if they play their own game, because if that’s the case, they must know better than anyone the content isn’t ready to be released. Or that the content that is currently released isn’t working properly or doesn’t have enough quality. So, when I ask “Do you play your own game?” The question must be no, because otherwise they’re knowingly releasing broken content and they must answer for that.

I don’t care they talk about their opinions on bugs and glitches. We do that. Their job is to fix it. It has been years with some of them.

so why even post this if you know the answer already? well here is why you did: You wanted to be noticed, you wanted people to tow the line with you. well your like is crap because 1) the devs play the game, 2) they stream it, 3) they work on it, 4) they talk about the game and how things came to being (IF THEY ARE ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT SOMETHING) and 5) they answer questions about bugs and how the game is made.

you were given the answer to your question and more and you just threw it out the window. you are not trying to make anything better, you only want to seem like you're cool and you are not. Yes you did explain yourself the first, second and how ever many other times, but the answer is YES THEY DO PLAY THEIR GAME AND ARE AWARE OF THE MANY BUGS IN THE GAME RIGHT NOW AND EVEN OTHERS THAT YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF AT THIS TIME.

It could be if the devs rework it. 3 tokens was barely ok when undying didn't exist, but not it's not near usable.

wow... you want everything to counter all killer stuff too... GREAT let's get the killer's everything to counter all the survivor stuff.... keep the playing field even. I gave you a solution that someone else ALSO gave you. but no you can't accept that there are counters to what you're asking about great way to be! the other person also gave pointers as well yet you didn't reply to them about distortion. Just learn the game, learn the add ons and go from there...

It isn't against the rules, you are right. Even old Legion wasn't but that doesn't make it healthy for the game.

What am I supposed to do when I am slugged? One time I can bring unbreakable but the other times?

I have close to 2000 hours in this game, and I can't win chases all the time and ending up slugged is NOT an interesting feature of DBD.

I ended up slugged in my last 6/7 matches against the twins, what would you do? Turn dbd off until they go out of fashion?

well first of all old legion was not intended uses of his power/add ons and they fixed that. ONI is a slugging killer straight up, so why not another? recover and move away so they can't hook you. learn to use your unbreakable when it matters not just the first time you're down. There are other perks that can help you get up too just need to find them and break away from your 2K hour meta builds. I've got over 2.5K hours and I don't run the meta unless I'm messing around.

What would I do? if i'm that tired of it i'd go play another game and try again the next day.

The Devs has stated that they have no intentions for nerfing Undying and Ruin, however they’ve notice a lot of killers are using this perk combo a lot. If it comes to point where a vast amount of Killers are only using Undying and Ruin they will have to look into it. They said they won’t nerf Ruin because they’ve collected enough data to know it’s in a good spot, they will however nerf Undying, but that’s IF a lot of killers use Undying and Ruin.

very true yet why haven't the devs thought about looking at unbreakable and DS? I mean these two perks are used a great deal in matches in the top 10 ranks, in the lower 10 ranks it's getting more and more common too!

This would undoubtedly make totems easier to find, but the trade-off is fair since it may just end being the wrong totem. This may also cause a new discordance situation (wherein the first tier of the perk is better than tier three since it has shorter aura reading range, so something may need to be done about that, or you could just possibly make the notification a fixed distance)

Overall I think having this small downside is a fair trade since the perk is so powerful. Yeah, you might lose totems faster but the perk is still doing its job. And this could even create some additional synergy with haunted grounds.

As a killer main, I'd be okay with this change.

there IS a perk that would do this, it's called distortion. introduced with Jeff and Legion! problem solved, no nerf needed.

  • so sorry, lets not cater to your whim but lets give killers options so they can do what they need to do in order to protect the game integrity. first you all complain about ruin and how it's hurting the new players, ruin is changed, and now undying and ruin is too powerful even after ruin change and they are looking at undying now thanks to survivor mains complaining. killers get very few things to protect totems and gens, hooked survivors and you wish to remove these from the killers.

lets remove/nerf into the ground ds, then lets make unbreakable to have a tiny tiny skillcheck that's 1/2 the size of rank 3 overcharge. what are you willing to give up for this? let's start saying hey I really think X shouldn't be used but I am willing to give up Y so that it can be evened out. Killers honestly do have a hell of a time in general and unless the group is not swf or very low ranked (15-20) survivors generally they have to have near perfect games to just pip up!

  • just what must be done? slugging is not against the game rules. not saying it's the best, but there are counters to slugging and you are probably one that doesn't want to change up their build to counter this. that's not the dev's problem but yours.

  • Oh also the brightness was sooooooo bright i couldn't see any scratch marks what so ever so following survivors was almost impossible. something has happened to make freddy's dreamstate as bright as a sunny day on the beach and the ground is white instead of having green and brown grass on it. the grass looks like black blades.

  • Wow folks... lets just be silly fops when it comes to this. think about this:

    1) They do not have to take any abuse typed about them on their own forums. There is no first amendment to be applied here, they can remove comments for what ever reason they want.

    2) when you call them names, and curse and ######### and moan and try to make them sound like the next serial killer they have every right to remove your comments. They don't even have to give you a reason or even tell you why you are no longer able to post here.

    3) when a mod says be respectful to everyone well they aren't just saying to the dev and mod team but to EVERYONE.

    4) you guys are correct they did not do a good job at all here, with bugs and everything sure you could go ahead and get the dlc and then complain it's busted even after you knew it'd be busted at release and they don't have to give you your money back.

when you respect people in general you do not call them names and make remarks that might make your grandmother blush, you are not being respectful to anyone what so ever. You can actually criticize without being condesending or even down right rude. try this on for size "You know you ######### broke the stick I had supporting my roof and I hate you all and your teeth are misaligned!" this is rude and uncalled for, how ever you can say this "You know what? I know who brok the stick supporting my roof and you might want to visit a dentist for a check up." This is not so rude. why did I just do this? because I didn't want to call anyone something that puts them on the defensive. but for example with this dlc being released like it is you would be better off saying something like this: "Hey Behavior, I believe you made a mistake because of bug A, bug B, Error C, and many other issues that others have brought up. I am not going to buy this DLC, nor recommend it to my friends what so ever. Oh I won't even use Iridescent Shards to buy the killer or survivor as I earned those putting my valuable time into this game so I make my statement politely and in a way your metrics will tell you that you did it wrong."

This is my mind set, I just mentioned there are bugs and errors without being a childish person and told them they won't get any more money from me till further notice or atleast till it is fixed. and I will make good on that promise personally. I have told others not to use iri shards to but the killer or survivor or even pay money for it and I will continue to do so till I feel it is properly fixed and then some, because though I give the benefit of the doubt to the devs, I can not do so here.

I didn't buy the dlc, more specifically the update that came at the same time as the dlc has caused this.

the update sent the code for the DLC to you, this is why you can get matched with killers and survivors that are not accessible to you for gameplay. The update included the DLC as well as any changes they were pushing live. I have not had any issues myself what so ever, I've seen players on twitch that I know that have had no issues, and no one in their chats are complaining about the issues mentioned. this leads me to believe there is some other external cause to this issue. It could be triggered by the game but not the root cause of it. without investigating everyone's pc/xbox/playstation there will not be an easy way to tell you what is wrong unless everyone sends the data needed to troubleshoot the issue. Please send the data the devs need to look into this because if you do not they can not check into it and see what the issues are.

I rarely jump on the forums, but I felt like I needed to respond to you because what you're saying is suspect. I'm a Software Engineer, I don't think you are (or you're very knowledgeable) frankly. You might be super old school, especially since you mentioned languages no one uses from ~30 years ago.

To be entirely transparent, I have ~15 years of experience with modern development (5 professionally) in C++, C#, PHP, Python, JS (node, frontend frameworks), Typescript, Visual Basic 6/.NET, Java, and F#.

    Here's what stands out:

    • "Fortrain" is Fortran. This is a niche language that was released 60 years ago and since essentially replace by Julia or Python for scripting purposes. It's also not OOP, so it's largely irrelevant in todays engineering.
    • Basic and COBOL are also old and are not entirely OOP (COBOL apparently added some support in 2002). Like 40 to 60 years old.
    • C+ isn't a language... It literally doesn't exist.
    • Assembly and machine code are both great concepts, but have little to do with modern code practices.
    • I'm not sure why you even mentioned command line environments. As an engineer, that's probably the last thing I would think of as something "impressive" to explain my credentials. I work in the command line pretty much all day in various Linux distributions and Windows (cmd, powershell)....

I can't quote multiple of your posts, but they all have bad or odd information. Particularly, your rant on spaghetti code was interesting.

"this is what happens here, for anytopic for the most part: disconnect penalty, the fact that killers are getting nerfed all the time or survivors are always nerfed and many other topics like this one and the dreaded "Spaghetti Coding" which is a term coined in the 70's and 80's for a programming style that is no longer even used. originally programs were written with number lines (like 10, 20, 30, 40 etc) and when you needed to add things you had 9 lines you could do it with and thus you end up having to redirect the program to lines far down the line and then make sure it returns to the right point."

Spaghetti code absolutely is a thing today?

The modern foundation of software design (OOP) is encapsulation, data abstraction, polymorphism and inheritance. If your objects are properly designed, they should not directly interact with other objects that are logically unrelated. That's why techniques and design patterns such as Dependency Injection are a standard.

But I digress, the point is that not properly following these principles is regularly considered "spaghetti code".

Also, using the Blueprints has other reasons that Scott didn't mention. There isn't a great VCS for Blueprints, which makes working in a team difficult. It's not just Scott that states using Blueprints for large portions of a game isn't viable.

I'd respond even more, but I just wanted to point out some issues from your posts on "page 2" before others took you seriously.

Ok so i misspelled fortran in a tired and drugged state (pain killers) but c+ is a language that quickly morphed into C++. I worked in basic, machine, fortran and cobal in the 80's and 90's as I was going through aerospace engineering courses. I am not a software engineer but I have the experience in these languages and how they are programed. I do not dispute you credentials but C+ is a language that was a step from C and then stepped up to C++. I had books that were listing C+ and not c++ originally and they were respected publishers but I will admit that it could be that there was a difference in how one publisher called it and it was truly c++ but we are talking about late 80's and early 90's when I was learning basic programming functionality.

Speaking of Spaghetti Coding I said it was a thing of the past becuase of the block or encapsulation style coding. people here want to say it is the cause of all the errors that they see in the game, you misread what I posted because I talked about how the spaghetti coding really came about in a very simplistic way because 1) most here do not understand what it truly is and 2) I do not have the EXTENSIVE experience in coding programs but I have done so in all the languages I listed. I do not see that just departing from programming standards makes spaghetti coding because the idea of it is that the threads of the program are jumbled and hard to track down. unless they decided to program in stream of consiousness most programs now even if there is a divergence you can follow it from one to the next and find the error if it is obvious.

speaking to the video I did not comment on what blueprints were used for directly other than to agree that the devs have said they used it for parts of the game before, my issue is that he was making statements of "I think" and "I believe" and that made the use of it to prove spaghetti coding impossible because all he was doing was making postulations and moving to proof from there without any of his own. People take it as 100% proof positive because they want it to be and don't care for actual proof. As a programmer and software engineer, can you tell me I am incorrect in that a program does not have to have bad coding to crash? I mean if the video card passes bad information to the computer or the cpu gets distorted information because of mother board noise it is possible that the program could get a bit of data that it can not process and then crash? can that actually happen or is the program 100% protected from the computer hardware? this is where my argument lies that many people can have a program that works just fine and then suddenly someone has an issue, is it the program? or is it something else? could it be both? I think there is room to a say either one of the first two possibilities could be correct. However information must be gathered from those that have the error to examine what is actually going on yes?

This dlc has made all of this worse? Rubberbanding etc.

At least it feels like it, I'm having so many issues this update that I'm basically done. I'm going to tap out until they fix some of the issues because its so frustrating to play at this time.

The necro was from a killer main. But this update is bad for everyone.

I'll agree the update is bad because they released a buggy product in this instance yes, but i doubt the rubber banding is caused by the DLC itself that generally wouldn't do much and even though I didn't buy the DLC at this time I went in and played after the update where the DLC was sent to my pc (just not unlocked) and I didn't have any of that so there is probably something else at work causing your rubber banding.

Than you agree how ironic your entire life is. :) "i am not always right" .... and you are not right at this particular junction either...you just cant admit it. You dont seem very observant to me...and that is my observation :) Oh 40 years of computer experience huh? Where's your degree and certifications? Stop trying to make it sound like you have a career in it when you dont...you have been using the computer until your midlife crisis...wow so impressive. That doesnt mean you know anything.

ah well you know what they say....can't fix that which doesn't want to learn eh?

you want it all? sure lets go. I have certifications of A+ (both good for life and CEU versions), Net+, Sec+, CEH, Cisco Networking Certs CCNA and CyberOps, Help Desk 2000, my first computer was a comodore 64 with a cassette tape drive when it came out FIRST, I then had an IBM PCjr which is where I learned how to modify computers because I needed to add parts to it as I got an extra 360KB 5.25 floppy drive, a 300 baud modem that I connected directly to the phone line. I ran a FidoNet BBS from this IBM PCjr even before I got the second floppy (and that is why i got the second floppy. I then moved to an IBM PS^2 model 20 (with a 20 MB hard drive). From there I ordered a 386 computer from Gateway in the 1990's , built a 486 system with 487 math co-processor and then a pentium 1 computer in the early 2000 (that actual year). After that I started building my own systems from scratch. I have worked with actual networking since the mid 90's when I was picked to help work on integrating my ship's department into a ship wide network. Mind you I was also an Electronics Technician in the Navy working as a Reactor Operator.

There I have showed you my main certifications but I later got a degree in Computer Engineering Tech and IT with emphasis on Microsoft Server, Network Design, and Cyber Security. I have worked with command line interfaces since the Commodore 64 and again with routers during my IT degree studies where I studied various networking features. I have continually worked with computers, and programming from the Commodore to my IT degree which has led me to work in the following languages: Binary, Assembly, Basic, Fortran, Cobol, APL, CLI, C, C+, C++, and Java. Let me tell you it's been a wild ride since the days of DOS 3.1, watching everything unfold and it was amazing.

Now I know networking, I know how the internet is set up, and that the internet is not some magical realm where it goes from your modem to the destination instantaneously with nothing but wire in-between. use the command Tracert on your pc to see how many routers (hops) you get to go through to get to www.yahoo.com and you'll be surprised. use ping to verify the time tracert gives you. Now have your friend in the next state do the same thing and you'll find out they go a different route! it's amazing how things are different! So now that you know how I got my start, you will still think I'm wrong because you have no evidence to support your idea (not even a theory) MY evidence I already gave in descriptions. Now I will politely go back to ignoring your comments because I would not expect you to even understand how a computer's CPU works at all, much less how your ISP works. I bet you didn't know satelites are even involved with your ISP! that'd be hilarious.

While I don't think I'm wrong I at least realize I could be. At the same time I saw the reply you received from the other person. Apparently they believe the definition of irony is not accepting their opinion as fact. Somehow that seems ironic to me.

it is ironic i agree. :) and i am not always right, i'm just someone that is observant and has a great deal of computer experience (over 40 years of it). yea ah well can't fix that which doesn't want to learn eh?

Beware, for accusing someone without foundation..

Yes, but no, you're still talking without knowing because I'm on Xbox not PC !😙

As I am nice, I will express myself properly, I will try since English is not my strong point. I can tell you in French, Norwegian, Korean, Japanese or even Mandarin if you want..

"-So leaving the game = rage (((I say "rage" because you told me that I was leaving out of rage on the other message)))... I'm not a guy, I don't have that temperament, I quit because I'm drunk like a girl, that's all, like now !" (((I don't know about you, but me in Europe, here more exactly, we girls give up very quickly "i dont have that temperament")))

quit (no ragequit). A ragequit is someone who insults the other person, tbag, who is clearly unhappy. I quit because I feel I'm wasting time, like now.. and finaly, Ragequit is to pay attention to someone in the chat or in the messagin system, and quit is move on to the next part !

So since you don't understand I won't answer you anymore, thank you for stop following me as on my other topic in the future, be consistent.

And to get back to the main subject, why one day he activates this system and then another day he deactivates it ?Hopefully they deactivate it once and for all!

wow. you just don't even consider anything but what you want to believe. please go ahead and I will respond to what ever I desire to respond to, your asking me to do so does not enkindle me to be polite and do the same because I know what I am talking about and have the certificates and knowledge to back it up. I am a cyber security tech, a network tech, a computer tech and I have been one for years. I understand the internet and the fact you are on the xbox matters not with your network issues as the internet is the internet no matter the platform. your xbox is much the same as a computer and if you look the file system is modeled after the micorsoft windows interface as that is what it grew up from, as well as it uses much the same hardware that computers use but just is not as modular and customizable as any other pc. I have worked with computers since the 1980's, and built computers by my own hand since the 90's and modified my computers since the 80's. I learned how to use networking interfaces before there was a global internet that you know today, I even know how to use command line interfaces long before windows 95 ever existed.

Finally since I now have listed a small portion of my computer petigree, your issues with the dc penalties is because you believe you are better than anyone else. Your english is very good I will say, and when I have not understood what you mean I politely asked what you meant and yet you have never even acknowledged that I have been cordial to you this whole time without calling you names or anything like that yet you take the road of trying to make me out to be the villain, where you actually are the villain here because you are the one breaking the rules of the game.

i did not say there is no point, I said it was wasting time. Which it does. Especially if there is no addon involved.

there are scenarios where it’s totally worth it, and others where it may be pointless.

either it's a TOTAL waste of time or it isn't. you can't have it both ways. yes there are times that it won't affect much of anything but i'm still going to go wake myself up when i have a chance and i'm tired of people like you telling me that it's not worth it when I believe it is. You are the type to say that taking totems down is a waste of time. neither is a waste of time in my mind and you can keep your opinion but i put out there the information that you conveniently left out to try and make your point more valid

  • he did not miss the point, and was probably wanting to point out they are going to fix at least one of the things on the list a week from today (that's the next scheduled hotfix). I personally think it's a new low for them and they should fix it when they get something fixed instead of waiting for the next day that's scheduled to be a hot fix

I don’t remember where i said anything against what you described though?

you said there was no point to go across the map for a clock. that extra 30 seconds is worth it, especially when trying to do gens. i'd take 1.5 mintues of awake time vice 1 minute if i'm just going to wake someone up during that 1 minute.

  • @PatBrutal said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1784934#Comment_1784934

Just to give you a heads up, this issue will be fixed in the upcoming hotfix.

    1) is the fix just waiting for the hotfix day? or will it be hotfixed when it is ready? because 7 days with things like this is really a bad thing.

    2) what about the other issues? what if they can't be fixed by two weeks from now? do we have to wait till mid-chapter patch 4 weeks after that to get these fixes in?

    3) Behaviour should have waited to release this, delay a week to fix the issues and people would have praised the foresight but now people are going to say that all you guys wanted was the money or our hard earned shards instead of giving us something that worked.

Please do not delay hotfixes right now, when something is fixed patch it in asap not wait for a dedicated patch day

  • @Mooks said:

Failing a skill check would notify the killer and Freddy has the ability to teleport to gens. Waking up eachother takes more time the more you do it in one trial. Running to the clock that’s mostly on the other side on the map is wasting time.

Freddy is already performing really really well, he is probably one of the only killers not in need of any buffs..

you forget the clocks give I believe 30 seconds EXTRA awake time. so the clock is 1 minute normally and when you use the clock to wake up you get 30 extra seconds to not be part of any add ons that freddy has to slow you down. that's 90 seconds to work on a gen with little slow down. and it takes 80 seconds to complete a gen. doesn't seem too bad of a trade off. but by all means keep waking each other up and it takes the person waking up 1/4 to 1/3 the time they have to be awake over all to do so and thus you have less time to do objectives without being limited by freddy's addons.

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

You do realize she just came out. changes can still be made they said these numbers could change. Remember Billy’s awful addons they were buffed a week later if we all say to decrease the time speak up they can change it and make it even better

problem is after "extensive testing" they decided to make poor changes and then release them in an unplayable state over all. I personally will only "win" the expansion from a fog whisperer but I will not spend actual cash or even shards to get either character (I'd love to get the survivor) till they implement the fixes.. hell i won't even get the perks if they are on the shrine!

Unfair for the surviving team YES, unfair for the killer NO. Does the killer earn his points ? Complain about what exactly.. survivors complain ? Nothing change you know..

Problem of connection ? As a killer I don't have any problem. I specify, it is the only game with Resident evil resistance where I have connection problems...

    Anyway, you're right, bye.

just because you have no issues with call of duty, or anything like that does not change the fact that your connection issues could be related to your computer as well as something to do with the route you take through the internet to get to the dbd server. this route will be different than the route you take to get to a call of duty server. you can see this by using tracert (this is the NAME of the program) on your windows computer it will show you all the hops your connect takes if you can find the server's ip address or URL. If your issue only happens as a survivor then I'd say it's something to do with your computer more than your internet but without extensive testing I could not say, but i personally have had little issue, even when i hit european dbd dedicated servers because i'm playing with my friends in europe.

The argument is going all over the place. That's what happens on forums in general, really. Let's try to simplify this a little...

You said you leave matches because you don't like the way the other side is playing. The killer hits you on the hook a bunch, you don't like it, you leave. The developers of the game do not consider that to be a good reason to leave a match. That is why the disconnect penalty exists, because the developers do not want players leaving matches just because the players are unhappy with how it's going. You can argue about that all you want and claim it's not fair, but after years of players complaining about the rampant disconnects in matches the developers have made their decision and it is highly unlikely they will change their mind.

You asked "I would like to know when the penalty will go down to 5 minutes?" As far as I know, the developers keep knowledge like that to themselves because knowing the exact numbers would lead to people trying to get around the system. They don't want players to know when the penalty will go down so that disconnecting becomes an option again because the developers don't want players to disconnect in the first place.

As to your connection problems, there are a lot of people who play DbD who do not have connection problems. You can request technical help with the issue on the DbD forums, through a help ticket, and/or from your internet service provider.

I broke down how the dc penalties decay over time a while back for this person, they just don't care about the rules and want to complain because they are having issues. I don't know what else to say. I'm with you 100% in your descriptions.

Perhaps. That's the thing though. They may lose some players over latency issues. My guess is it won't be many. So the question becomes which is going to cost them more?

    1) The cost of implementing and maintaining better servers

    or

    2) The money they would lose from the people that would leave over server latency

If it's #2 then #1 becomes a priority. On the other hand if it's #1 then #2 is a loss they are willing to take.

honestly it's a lost cause talking to this "PLAYER" why? they are the only ones that can be right and won't look at reality. You are correct in your assessment and the other one is just a person that hates being wrong.

-The people I play with too, we agree more than 15 people..

"you may think you're perfect in every way in this game but you dismiss areas that are out of your control and then cloak your own rage quitting in a cloak of righteousness that others can see and know what you are doing, you are projecting your own failing upon others and trying to claim the moral high ground which you do not have for many reasons."

-Let me tell you something, doctor! When I play killer I let the 4 survivors go, too often ! When I play survivor I propel myself on the killer when a survivor is chased... and you know what ? Sometimes I call voluntarily the killer to kill me and to let the last one go out by the trap door... and I will confess something, I leave the game to open the trap door ! So thank you but keep your analysis,we don't know each other .

"Your statement of "I do not rage, consternation" this is something you actually do and you have said it many times, you won't sit there while the killer hits you while on hook, disconnect is raging."

A very SEXIST comment here.. thank you very much. you have anger it is a human emotion. I said Disconnecting from a match (RAGE QUITTING) is the same as raging. finishing the game or leaving via methods allowed in match are not rage quitting but COULD be considered such. with this attitude you will never have a good match more than once or twice because something will trigger you.

your response to this is nonsensical. not even anything I talked about. you said you have perfect internet connections but you have no idea how your connection is once it enters your ISP's modem/router/connection box.

3)"you say servers are sometimes unstable, this is a misconception as the servers are rarely unstable in general BUT your connection to them might be and that is out of behavior or your control."

-The people I play with too, we agree more than 15 people..

The answer here is that more than 15 people is not even 1 one thousandth of the people that plays dead by daylight. I never said they didn't have issues, but most issues are client computer based OR actual internet connection issues. you will find that 15 people is not even a drop in a bucket as there are 30,000 players over all average players per day give or take some, and your 15 people are probably going through the same network router that is having problems. learn how the internet truly works, you don't turn your computer on, open dbd and instantly are on their servers and there is nothing between you and behavior. you'd be really surprised how the internet actually works, there is a real reason this internet is called the world wide web!

  • 11am eastern us time today. but remember the twins are broken and there may be issues with the patch.

  • honestly since your "ping" changes from second to second lots of things can happen. sometimes it's your "ping" sometimes it's their "PING" sometimes other issues can be there. please note the term PING is referencing a command line program called ping which sends 4 packets to the destination then shows how long it has taken to travel there and back. what you are looking for is the term latency which is the measure of how long packets take but also includes processing time and computer render time and many, many more things and it is not a static number for hours at a time (it CAN be but rarely is). ping is static because it is a snapshot from the time you send it to the time the information is received back to your pc, latency how ever is dynamic and can mirror what you believe your ping to be but won't for most of the time. it's like driving down the highway, you think you're going fast till someone goes faster than you. then you speed up but then realize you're exceeding the speed limit, this then causes you to let off the gas some and your car slows down. Now your car hits a section with lots of traffic and you can speed up but only for short periods where you are going slow but with small bouts of going faster.

I know, but now I'm talking about the time I give him to farm his points, the points I don't care, I've unlocked everything. I've left, reported, I'm moving on no time for him.

Penalty for disconnection : servers sometimes unstable (impossible to play), hitbox, one shoot, cheat (not always, fortunately), disconnected from the host ... so many things there is not only rage (I do not rage, consternation) ! Not useless to tell me "your connection", my connection is perfect, I'm not the only person to complain.

What's next? I'm banned for life, so I'll be forced to quit the game once and for all.. If the game must empty, so be it!😀

actually if they are there hitting you on hook they loose emblem progress from being too close to a hooked survivor, that's 2 minutes of emblem progress penalties. means they are not going to get a double pip or possibly a single pip if they do that to you for 2 minutes. they don't get points for hitting you on hook, they are not getting anything unless another survivor causes them to get points (trigger a trap, runs near the killer and puts them in a chase etc) so honestly it's funnier that they do this and you weather that "ASSAULT" because they don't get extra points of any kind in the way you describe and loose out as I described. You DC you loose any and all addon's, offerings, blood points and items, plus you get the dc penalty.

you say servers are sometimes unstable, this is a misconception as the servers are rarely unstable in general BUT your connection to them might be and that is out of behavior or your control. one shoot? do you mean one shot mechanics? Cheating: happens even when killers aren't being dicks honestly, i've seen survivors cheating, i've seen killers cheating but i have never been able to prove it once. Your statement of "I do not rage, consternation" this is something you actually do and you have said it many times, you won't sit there while the killer hits you while on hook, disconnect is raging. Also your connection to your isp might be perfect, but what about the connection from the isp to the next router or that router to the next router in the hops? you can't know that your connection is good beyond your house, even your isp has drops at times.

you may think you're perfect in every way in this game but you dismiss areas that are out of your control and then cloak your own rage quitting in a cloak of righteousness that others can see and know what you are doing, you are projecting your own failing upon others and trying to claim the moral high ground which you do not have for many reasons.

Ive said it before and ill say it again, i love the concept of this game and maybe it started out as a deeply cared about project but as it stands I cant stand this game. The developers have directed us to other games if we arent happy, they have insulted and belittled people who criticize their game and dang it, this was a brilliant concept that got muddled by greed.

there is a difference between criticizing something and just bad mouthing it. You are incorrect in how you characterize the dev's response for instance is a critique of your post and not bad mouthing it what so ever. HOW EVER if I were to say you are a ######### poster and can't use the bathroom right and your post is crap, that is bad mouthing your post. what people do is they blame the devs and their actions for everything, call them names and when given an answer they eventually get fed up and the gloves come off. is this the best way to do it? no it is not but we are all human. I would love to see how you respond to someone telling you you're wrong, then you say why you are right, they just then say you're wrong again without a different argument, and then you try to explain why you are right and then they start throwing non-sequeters your way and telling you you're wrong. when you are the one that created something and you made the back story and know everything about your creation and the person just saw it for 10 minutes.

this is what happens here, for anytopic for the most part: disconnect penalty, the fact that killers are getting nerfed all the time or survivors are always nerfed and many other topics like this one and the dreaded "Spaghetti Coding" which is a term coined in the 70's and 80's for a programming style that is no longer even used. originally programs were written with number lines (like 10, 20, 30, 40 etc) and when you needed to add things you had 9 lines you could do it with and thus you end up having to redirect the program to lines far down the line and then make sure it returns to the right point. well here is an example of the beginning and then spaghetti code:

    10 Start

    20 Let X = 1

    30 Print X

    40 End

now you want to add some feature after X is placed, so you add the following

    21 Goto 100

    100 input Y

    110 Let X = X + Y

    120 Goto 30

Now you add in another section

    22 goto 100

    101 If Y = 5 goto 200

    105 goto 30

Now you've made a big boo boo and the only time you get anything other than 1 is what ever happens if Y = 5. because you were not paying attention. now this is simple and easily fixed, HOWEVER when you get to a program that is 10's of thousands of lines long it isn't as easy. Programming now is done in sections and without numbers till you compile the program, and the compiling program will look for certain issues like infinite loops and bad math calls. games like dbd have blocks of code for the main game itself, then blocks of code that are just about items and what they do, add ons and what they do, offerings and what they do, perks and what they do. Characters and what powers they have etc. so it's much easier to fit these things in without issues or minimal issues. blueprints is a version of flow charting that many programmers do all the time to see where they are to go in their code blocks. with "Spaghetti Code" the flow charts start looking like a mass of spaghetti and it's very hard to find errors because you can barely trace the flow charting. So "Scott Jund" (btw I had no idea who he was till it was mentioned here) said I think they did X, I believe that Y was ocuring because.... and many more things that show he was guessing and had no real facts.

So you talk about how they tell people to go play other games, that's not a bad idea, if you are so disenchanted that you will not listen to what an actual dev of the game have to say about a topic and demand they act without any consideration on what it would entail (like how to stop internet latency or to stop players from tunneling for instance) that's better than the responses here where people are told to ######### off and suck an egg, they are making a suggestion that you are barking up the wrong tree and politely telling you to not let the door hit you in the butt on the way out because there is going to not be any developments in that realm at this time.

keep that in mind when you talk about them being "nasty" about players and know the WHOLE situation including what happened in private messages to them before you pass judgement on a clip you see some where on the internet.

Sorry but not Sorry DC in a game for Survivors or Killers is just not cool and so unfair for both players base.

I think of what BH should do is for players who DC should be officially banned if they constantly keep on pulling the plug in game,Players who DC should definitely get punished for it because it’s unfair for the other survivors and the Killer.

i understand if the player isn’t having fun in game but I really think it’s a selfish move to pull when you thinking for yourself and not caring about the other players who’s trying to complete their challenges,Rituals and trying to rank up.

Another thing of what BH can do is for the players who don’t DC when their game actually freezes,Crashes,Blue Screen and etc,I think they should build a system that can tell the difference between Pulling the plug and Players who has bad connections in general. I play Apex Legends in their rank system if a player decides to DC just because they’re not having fun the penalty system in Apex it actually punish players who like to DC which as the player can’t play no game modes and I mean all games modes are locked from the player from having access to it. This should teach a lesson for those DC players who likes to ruin other players games.

Another thing BH can do for DC players like in OW if the players still continue to DC they will receive less points from their game matches.

I think that would at least force players to just take a L in a game and move on or else they’ll have to pay for the consequence .

unfortunately a system to know when the game crashes or a network plug is pulled or an internet router goes down or the player puts their pc into airplane mode and what not is impossible. only thing they can 100% track is the USE of the LEAVE MATCH button.

When you DC, the killer gets points for that; the difference between the points they get for sacrificing you and the points they get for you disconnecting is not that big. If you're already on the hook, you might as well just suicide so that you still get any points you earned. You're screwing yourself out of a lot more points than you're taking away from the killer, not to mention the dc penalty you incur. You're not hurting the killer, only yourself.

actually it can be different, depends on how many actual hooks there will be but for the killer the points given when someone does d/c, you end up getting points in brutality and not sacrifice as it should so the even is not considered for emblems properly. also same goes for the survivors as well. but I agree with you @TragicSolitude

First: YES I quit the game several times, simply because I refuse to serve the points of a *** who hits me 20 times in a row for no reason... it's irritating, I'm human I feel his bad thoughts and I don't play for that! My looping skills are 10 seconds maximum.. it's sure it's irritated!

Second: I don't care about your "sympathy", you don't get it when you hook the survivors I don't expect sympathy here.

I just wonder why the developers mysteriously activated the permission to hit survivors on the hook when a few months ago they deactivated it... Anyway

if you're already on the hook why not just try to escape three times and not struggle, you keep your points, don't get a penalty and they don't get to keep hitting you. I personally find it's idiotic to keep slashing you but some of them think this reduces your time on the hook but it doesn't. but why give up points even if a couple 1000, when you're already there and give the killer something for what they did. and you don't get the penalty so guess what..... you don't get that 5 hour penalty. I sympathize that the killer was being an ass but not for your time out for disconnecting.

Nah, I don't think I will, if I'm not having fun, oh well, too bad right?

I think its quite illegal for these devs to add such forceful-ness to game where its unbalanced and is not balanceable.

In my books, dc'ing is good.

please look up the law associated with your presumption and let us know, but i'll help you along it is NOT illegal.

The game will start, but it seems like everyone loads in at different times. In one game, I actually started next to someone who was clearly unresponsive. "Reunited" also did not trigger when I got next to him. After moving away for about 2 minutes, it went to the DC'd while loading screen.

yes this is the issue that is plaguing consoles and their network connections right now and it's not every match, and because the console must go through the specific network before going to the dbd server it sometimes can get interrupted. this takes time to recognize but it's done early enough in the game that the whole game disconnects not just the player.

It is a FACT that they used blueprints to code the game.

The point of contention is whether or not that's what's causing the bugs.

Considering blueprints aren't generally used for big games, and the fact that they've come out and said that they're transitioning to C++ points to the 'spaghetti code' problem. It's called critical thinking. Blueprints aren't designed to be for games as big as DBD, they are a quick way to make a cheap game, they aren't made for large games. DBD is BHVR's only big game, they had no funding to afford good devs nor take the time to make a proper game. Since these blueprints are the foundation of the game, they make the game very buggy, which it is. It makes sense.

I would say watch the video, but it's clear that you're only capable of hearing what you want to hear.

lol i do not watch a video full of I think and they proably did this or that. there is no information in that that is more than anecdotal evidence which if used in a court of law might sway a jury that doesn't know any better it won't sway a judge and thats why lawyers would object to this. I know programming and the devs even SAID that blueprints were used in some portions of the game but not the WHOLE game like this guy tries to make it look like. the fact that you are trying to convince me of things that i never disagreed with points to someone who thinks their view is dismissed because you didn't get me to say what you wanted and that further invalidates any claims here. I have worked on code that is 1000's of lines long, I have worked in MACHINE CODE that ends up being the HARDEST to EVER troubleshoot because a 0 or a 1 in the wrong place changes the command and it's easy to miss because that's all there is. it's just about as bad in assembly when you are working with hex numbers. but Spaghetti Code does not exist anymore except by people who try to make others think it's done this way. Everyone here that says they have seen the code is either lying or guilty of copyright violation OR Pirating. This is why no one ever shows the code they say they know is "SPAGHETTI CODE" and just let people take it on belief that it is so, and thus why I demand the proof of that Spaghetti Code and all I get is the game crashes thus it's spaghetti code. so is windows written in spaghetti code? is dragon age Origins written in spaghetti code because it crashes on my system? nope... a conflict in the system can cause a crash and no one ever blames their system, just like everyone blames behavior for network connection errors and disconnects when they have no proof.

This is why I do not need to watch the whole video, and why I laugh when people tell me this game is written in a coding scheme that isn't used anymore (but was a long time ago) and won't even show their proof and I mean actual provable proof of the code from dead by daylight. anyone can try and make it look right but they won't do even that because they know they'll be torn to shreds or charged with federal crimes (pirating, as it is illegal to reverse engineer a game that is under copyright protection without permission from those that have that copyright.

Except that he doesn't say that. You seem to be having troubles understanding exactly what he's saying, which could be remedied by actually watching the video.

They do or have used blueprints. They have not come out and said that their use of blueprints is why DBD is so buggy. This is why you should actually watch the video, not turn it off after 5 seconds, because it's making you look like a fool. But hey, keep thinking you know what you're talking about.

I think... They Probably..... I guess he only thinks but he has no proof. this is in the first 30 seconds. and the devs refuted his video don't need to listen again

This happens to me all the time. And I'm like "No, I'm solo"

    They're always like, "whatever".

Like they refuse to believe they lost to solos

lol I agree, one time i was solo and there were 3 other solos, we operated like a swf normally does! it was funny because they ended up asking if we were swf and we all said nope, and the killer and us had a great chat and became friends but it was great 4 solos CAN act like a swf and killers can be good and fun people to know but the ones that assume and won't take answers as reality well they aren't. occasionally i'll ask SWF? just to find out and the survivors act all indignant when it was a question.

4 man stacks on a single gen aren't very efficient and are easy for the killer to pressure as the entire team of survivor is there. Teams who want to do all 5 gens as fast as possible are going to split up to work on gens solo and pressure the entire map. They'll also ignore totems, leave survivors on hooks until after they finish the gens, and never heal until all gens are done. Gen rush squads will also burn pallets quickly since they know their teammates will leave them on the hook to finish gens so they'll likely reach struggle state on their first hook.

It's ultimately very boring gameplay for both sides which is not why you see actual genrush squads often.

you might notice i used that as a point not saying that was the case. but you ignored that fact because it doesn't fit your narrative.... but for your weakened eyes to not be strained here is what i said after i talked about 4 people on a gen being about 30-35 seconds. "with one it's 80 seconds. if three people are on separate gens that's 3 gens in approximately 80 seconds. that's 3/5ths of the survivor objectives and the killer might have gotten two hooks which is 1/6th of their objectives (looking to 12 hooks as the objective since 4 survivors get 3 hook states total)." this was my main point that it can feel like a gen rush when 2-3 gens pop off in less than 2 minutes. stop looking at a post when you find a juicy tidbit you think was the main point and gnaw at it and you MISS the main meal and the whole point of the post. go back and RE-READ my post and you'll see how idiotic your post is because you also talked about the same thing i was talking about in order to refute my post because i STARTED with 4 people on a gen doesn't mean that's the focus of my post!

1 … 12 13 14 15 16 … 33
