Recently I've been in matches as both killers and survivors where people quit before the actual match starts and I lose both offerings and add ons. Not just that but i really wish the devs had a system where they can tell if it was a rage quit or if i genuinely lagged out of my session because they matchmaking lock isn't exactly fair if i honestly didn't quit the game or if my PS$ bluescreens or something like.
as @FreakPrince said they are just removed from your active use sections. had a match where the killer dc'd on load in ( no fault of theirs i am sure), my escape cake was not there, go into my offerings the same amount of escape cakes that I had going into that battle were still in the inventory. sometimes it'll remove your item/addons too (especially killer) but usually it's just the offering. HOW EVER if the the killer dc's after a little bit of game play you WILL loose addons and offering but keep item (as survivor) you have to see the match canceled error 500 information on screen to get your items back.

Before Blight's patch came out the ping on my Xbox1x was green 40-70ms. That patch caused the lovely insta-overheat for a week until the following patch, and since then the ping has been yellow & 140-160ms ever since. With no change to my rig. So I have to throw pallets much earlier or swing the blade sooner.
Ahhhhh the console life.
interesting that internet latency would cause your console to over heat. seems that there is a problem with your xbox or the installation of the program that would cause this issue. Ping is not something that could even cause anything to over heat...

This file doesn't exist. Is this a solution for steam users? Mine is installed via windows store
well there is your problem right there it's microsoft.. no, sorry couldn't help that :P might be steam only, I still suggest you submit a ticket to the devs to get the help you need. they know the microsoft store installation better than anyone.
-
1) who cares what they say.
2) play how you wish
3) were you doing dailies on nurse, plague and pig? didn't seem you mentioned that lol but honestly do what ever you wish.
4) those people telling you noed is controversial are dog crap as well. it's a perk as fair as any other perk. just because the survivors don't like to do gens and want 5 minute games for 10 minutes of waiting doesn't matter noed or not they let noed happen.
and don't get bent up because it lets them win, if they harass/shame you report them.
-
then submit on the bug page. sometimes it takes a while for this to get to the devs. go to their web page and submit a support ticket that goes to their ticket queue and right into the bug team.

what is considered unplayable as far as ping goes? If my lobby is not green, then I back out and look for another game. My internet is not the greatest but my ping is usually around 70 and I get hit when vaulting or dropping pallets when I feel like I definitely was safe. I know getting hit in these situations is common, but I'm talking press x for dead hard before the attack animation and still being exhausted on the ground. When hit validation was turned on i felt like it wasn't as bad but it may have been my imagination. Also are there factors other than ping that affect this. Thank you for any feedback. Accidentally posted in international initially, sorry.
you have to make that decision yourself, i'll play any game i get in even if it's red (though i'll back out if my friends back out) because i rarely pay attention to the "PING" the ping meter is not the "PING" you are locked into at any time it is just a representation of potential issues and changes ever millisecond.

verify your files. this could also be the person that invited you has not updated for some reason. this is something that could be on either side of the swf/kyf side

The most common toxic killer stereotype is of course Insidious basement bubba. However, I rarely come across a Bubba like this and have come across a lot more body-blocking wraiths than them. Could their population have been greatly exaggerated?
I have found the elusive insidious bubba! and what happened is he let me give him my brown medkit in payment for searching the chest. once i got another brown medkit, the other time it was a pink key. then someone stole my brown medkit and the bubba took him down and me accidentally.... he gave me hatch!

Well since the initial rank spread is plus or minus 6 ranks, a rank 7 could get a rank 1 as a killer or even in a rank 1 survivor. could also be paired with a rank 13 as well. Now if things take a while to make the matches the game widens the window from plus or minus 6 and works to get a good match. so even a rank 12 could be facing red ranks easily. SWF's skew the match making as well so you might see a swf that has a rank 16 and a rank one as a rank 12.

Soul guard works if there is a hex totem up.
How will faster crawling help against slugging ? You said there are other perks that let you get up too...
You think killers are that stupid and leave no mither guy on the ground ? ######### :'D Yes, maybe it works on you as a killer
And here we are again, unbreakable is the only perk against slugging that you can use once, after that you're ######### unless someone else has it.
Slugging with the Twins is so easy. I've given up on playing nicely as surv and as killer. Twins is my new fav killers to get survivors dc. No perks, no addons, ez slugfest, ez 4k.
well i only talked about things that are out there i did not say it was a perfect solution, but right now with pop/undying soul guard works quite well and crawling faster (AND recovering) will let you move away from where you were slugged while recovering, possibly to another survivor that could finish getting you up. or crawling to the hatch to escape. still slugging is a valid tactic and it is not forbidden by the rules of the game. but thing is you're going to complain about everything no matter what is said unless it directly benefits the survivor. this argument happened when the oni came out, and it'll happen again... you'll notice that oni didn't get much of a change and was bugged when he first game out too. only survivor mains can talk, killer mains that bring up their grievances here are told to get better, when they HAVE to play on their A GAME to get pips and get advanced if that's their goal!!!! but now it's oh woe is me, this killer is a slugger only! this killer needs a nerf!!!!!! EVERY DAMN chapter it's that way, and the nerfs hapen and you are NEVER happy as it keeps happening every match. killers who need to be fixed are ignored, freddy is getting modified ONCE AGAIN (second time since his re-work) and nurse hasn't been fixed since her rework showed how broken she can be. billy gets changed when there was no need for it.
what would your game be like if everyone that played killer STOPPED playing killer? what would the survivors do then? play killer? ok what happens when the next chapter comes out the survivors will cry nerf and the cycle continues!

Except we know that the devs cannot code as has been exemplified for the past several years. This isn't a matter of higher ups or rocking the boat or anything of the sort; it is the devs not knowing how to code and releasing something that's buggier than an ant colony.
no you assume it because others say it or you think it because you only see that. you do not know their capability, you do not know anything more than your suspicions. what you THINK is not actual proof it is suspicion and assumption. thus you do not know at all.
-
@Demogordon_Ramsay said:
Gotta love people unironically trying to defend this awful patch.
"Devs can't learn if they don't try something new!"
It's not a matter of us not wanting them to try something new; it's a matter of them being so genuinely awful at coding that even Blight, one of the most fundamentally simple Killers in the entire game, is full of bugs and general weirdness. If you can't build a brick hut, don't try to build a city. And this patch is proof of it.
I don't understand how people can defend this patch, or the programming behind it. BHVR's code is known to be primitive, building-block spaghetti code. Like, it's literally common knowledge, and even if it weren't, we can see it in this patch. Multiple Killers that were completely untouched this patch, including Legion, Demogorgon, Bubba, and Billy, are now suffering crippling bugs for no apparent reason, bugs that no one discovered on the PTB, meaning they were most likely added alongside the small, insignificant changes to the Twins when the servers went live—somehow these small tweaks to the Twins resulted in several Killers having their powers gutted by bugs.
I'm not trying to be insulting when I say this. I am merely pointing out the objective, observable truth: They cannot properly code. They tried to create an advanced bundle of coding when they cannot code to begin with.
I cannot defend how buggy, inconsistent, positively unfinished, and borderline unplayable not only the new Killer, but the entire patch, is. It's a complete mess and I am genuinely baffled that people can defend it.
first of all if you are talking about me, I am not defending the dlc, I have always talked about the veiled attack on the devs. just because some company has more years coding and making games doesn't mean that they are automatically better. same with people, just because you have been around doesn't mean someone else hasn't got the know how to best your knowledge. In tech this happens many times, a person who's been around much more but hasn't kept up to date can still do their job but won't excel because they don't have the mindset to get the new tools. Someone coming up in the ranks will use the newer tools to make things better. example admiral Rickover in the us navy who spear headed it's nuclear propulsion program refused to integrate newer methods of operation but kept to known things and thus it kept the program on a slow but steady course. so this is the case there were civilian power plants that had better setups than the navy did but they were prone to failures right away.
so why did I talk about this? older programmers might not try something like this because they don't want to rock the boat, the newer programmers are more ambitious and will leap at newer challenges. Now this is what happened here, the devs here tried things and when it came to it the higher ups said this goes out on schedule ready or not, so the devs tried to alert people to this and that they were working. so what happened we have posters like this one insulting their capabilities when he/she doesn't even know what those are or how to classify them. might want to understand that the OP wants people like you to misread what people like I say. The DLC was never being defended here because it was put out unfinished, but that decision is not one the devs make but the over all company execs and the devs either say yes sir to this or they get fired.

I mean, how is that an insult?
"It's clear that the devs (A) can't make a proper 2 in 1 character and (B) I get it's a cool concept and experiment, but even Triple A companies like Blizzard said that (C) making such chars were a pain in the ass (i.e. D.VA, Echo in Overwatch)."
I spoke facts:
- (A) Are the twins proper characters? NO (too many bugs)
- (B) Are they cool concepts? YES
- (C) Are 2 in 1 chars easy to make generally? NO
As far as I'm concerned, I didn't say anything insulting in particular...
If I said:
"YOU DEVS ARE SO DUMB, YOU CAN'T EVEN MAKE A SIMPLE KILLER!!!"
then THAT would be insulting.
You sound like you're assuming an indie company to do smth that even Triple A companies can barely achieve. 🤣
I doubt that you're that naive.
you compared them to blizzard employees, thus saying their experience is less as well as their knowledge is less. you are talking out your rear for this trying to salvage your post. you speak as though YOU know programming (your (C) option) and your (A) option doesn't speak to their capabilities only what you are seeing here which might be an indication but you are speculating in an area you don't know thus it's bad and it's insulting to them to say you know they aren't as good as someone else.

@MichaelAMyers said:
So a killer doing their Objective is bad??
it's not bad, just survivors find it not fun, and honestly unless you have certain things you would, as killer, be better served not to face camp someone and move and engage others. with 4 survivors you have one on hook, one being chased by you, one on a gen and one rescuing. this slows gen progress and gives you a chance to hold pressure on the suvivors

Go find the part where I whine and insult the devs.
I hope you know what insult means cuz you're using it wrong, or you just don't know the definition.
I've never insulted the devs.
I said that what they were trying to achieve is difficult even to the most experienced gaming companies out there.
That's not an insult but the truth.
Companies which also offer 2 in 1 characters say that they are the most difficult chars to code and even they have problems with it.
I think you are overestimating BHVR's capabilities. I'd wager that you think they're great, but in fact they're still an indie company which could use more experience before delving into things like this.
here "It's clear that the devs can't make a proper 2 in 1 character and I get it's a cool concept and experiment, but even Triple A companies like Blizzard said that making such chars were a pain in the ass (i.e. D.VA, Echo in Overwatch).

Well, sucks for you that I did report a bug before. You can check my profile page for that piece of information.
Also, it's a forum. I start a discussion, people decide to take a look and comment. I didn't force anyone to type a single word on their keyboards.
Finally, I wrote this discussion simply because I had a game that was far worse than any other matches regarding bugginess in which I then said "how is this thing even on live servers".
Like I said, I paid the game as a full, stable version. Not some PTB 2.0.
I guess you have no problems with it, but I do.
You can't call me out for asking for a decent game that runs smoothly.
you started a whine and insult about the devs here, not a discussion. if you had wanted to start a discussion then you'd have talked about the issue, asked what others thought instead of outright insulting the people that have studied and worked hard at their craft which you have no idea.. I'd wager you think this game is written in "SPAGHETTI CODE" by the way you're continually trying to justify your rant of a post, now this rant of a post is supposed to spark a discussion? that's a laugh.

I guess since I'm not part of the dev team, I have no rights to complain according to "Freki". Kay got it.
Pretty defensive about BHVR aren't ya. I guess your boyfriend works there or smth, I dunno.
You seem like a pretty sensitive person, lashing out at people who simply asked why they made the decision to make and release a premature character who creates more bugs than the game itself.
Yet, you call them "attacks". Go figure.
I bet you're great at parties~ 🤭
I think it's best we leave this be. I don't think we'll see eye to eye on this subject.
i never said that, I just said that if you want to complain about something at least 1) don't be insulting to others, 2) be constructive, and 3) don't assume what you don't know. your attitude is I can complain all I want to and everyone has to listen to me because I paid for this game and I get every say in the world about it. this is an elitist attitude and it comes through loud and clear every time. So complain all you want, seek sympathy what EVER you want to do but if you're gonna complain at least put an idea forward to try and show you want to HELP with the problem than just complain about it. I'll tell you complaints that are offered like this are listened to about 1000 times quicker and about 1 million times more likely to be considered. so you found a bug where X character stands and does a jig, which shouldn't happen. well instead of saying "#########?! why am I doing a JIG?" you could say "well I found that when I did Y my character, X, does this Jig so perhaps there is a correlation? " This is the way to get things really noticed, but if you start ranting "This game is ######### becuase my character just does a Jig, WHAT THE HELL!?" the devs tune that out and stop considering anything from that line of thinking till they see something that has some respect in it.
Also you paid for a game, and before the dlc was released, you were WARNED this dlc was being released with issues and those would be addressed in upcoming hotfixes, but you still paid for the dlc. I've encountered a few bugs which I have reported but I haven't bought the new characters so I can't say what is happening with them, and I haven't gone up against the new killer personally.

Welp.
I think you need to calm down a little haha.
Never seen someone who's so passionate for a broken game.
I don't have to know how to direct a movie to tell if a movie is crap or not.
Same goes for BHVR.
It's clear the twins are a bad addition to the game, not concept wise, but gameplay wise.
I didn't pay money to play a broken game.
Lastly, you need to grow a pair and not get too offended on the internet 😅
you can call the game crap and i wouldn't care. but when you disparage someone's experience without even knowing it makes you petty and that is what offended me, not the fact that you had criticism. you paid money to play a game yes, one that you agreed will change over time (as it is multiplayer as well as having new content being put out). you agreed to play the game AS IS and if there are issues you can say hey this happened, whats up, here's the information you need to check into this. Your post is a direct attack on the devs, but it doesn't even address the issue. many posts here even in their attacks they still atleast TRY to help fix the issue even though many times they only want to fix it for one side or the other and not a balance but still it is better than a straight attack. and you end with an attack on me, this shows how immature you are being over this. my offense is your pettyness and that completely seals it. I'm glad your words are not going to be highlighted to the devs.

As you suggested I tried this, and not seeing anything labeled "cog" within the library I tried everything else in there and nope. Perhaps it is something only on a new Series X but nothing I could find on my Xbox1.
I do appreciate the input though is consolers have limited info when it comes to this stuff.
a cog is the cogwheel that is used almost universally for the menu options of settings. but if you are curious you can always contact microsoft, but stop blaming one group without even knowing where the problem actually lays.

I'm sorry you're so offended... I thought the DBD community had pretty thick skin when it came to criticism.
My post has nothing personal towards the devs.
I'm saying it as how it is.
By your logic, move reviewers are all haters if they do not like the film?
I'm merely criticizing parts that needs criticism.
I've mentioned before, I love the concept and everything else, but the way they coded/released the char was too early.
If not, they shouldn't have tried to make the char in the first place, even if the idea was fresh.
If you think brown nosing the devs will guarantee the game's future, then you are dead wrong.
Criticism like mine reminds how awful the char feels to play and thus they'll be more careful in the future (hopefully).
you disparage the dev's skill, you have know knowledge on what they can and cant do yet you make comparisons to other developers making games that are markedly different between each other. That in and of itself is the offense, I am also offended you didn't even come up with any good ways to fix this, obviously you are an expert in the development of this game why are you not working for them so you can make sure they do it right? oh right probably aren't a programmer, and thus where is your stance based, what knowledge are you using to support your assertions? it's better if you have a problem for you to try to help solve it instead of just throwing stones. I read nothing in your post that was constructive and that is another reason I personally am offended that you didn't just criticize the devs but didn't even find a way to help the situation. I'm more offended and disappointed at you being so petty.

for more than 2500 hours and 2+ years of play so, yes, I've been tunneled yes. but my post stands on it's own and is backed up by someone else in this thread as well, actually I was backing them up because I liked what they had to say. do you play the same game I do? because I rarely get tunneled when I get removed from the hook when the killer isn't around and let me tell you the killers generally come back to the hook after a hook save but I make my self not so much a target and rarely get tunneled unless the killer was right there when i was unhooked.

the penalty is tiny, the blood points inconsequential, the depip is a reward not a penalty. this thread is not a waste of time because of this. now if they had their characters reset a prestiege level and more, perks reduced to tier 1 that'd make the loss of even 32K blood points very much felt. anyways great response from someone who can't read a paragraph 3 lines longer than this.

I dont know how to handle your dcs. I have an old ps4 and i never got a crash and a dc penalty. When its your connection, its your fault.
When there are so many bugs which force a dc, the penalty should be removed. But i dont know why you get this bugs so often, i get a lot of bugs, but none where i need to dc.
It happens when there is something else that prevents the system to realize what happens, it's hard to know but it's also possible that your system didn't think you dc'd at all and were removed from the game due to another error there is a great deal of issues here, did you submit a bug report properly for this? no? tooo bad.

People who’s game crashes shouldn’t get a dc ban. surely there are like crash logs or something stored in the files.
im actually sick of getting a dc ban just because my game crashes or i’m forced to dc because i get glitched in a rock or some other crap like that.
If people dc because there pussies then yes they deserve the ban but dc penalties should temporarily be disabled until the next hotfix gets released because the game is just too buggy right now.
everyone should also get there dc ban timers reset because way too many people are experiencing freezing and crashing with this new chapter. rant over.
thing is please make something that can detect an intentional network drop vice a non intentional network drop. Also at the same time invent something that can tell between that same and a game crash, you can't not without extreme coding, and it's hard to know the difference. thing is a client crash usually takes 2-4 minutes to get back in game so the penalty is almost up (5 minutes). If you are getting multiple crashes you should investigate before continuing to play again as it is probably the game files or something else causing this issue.

If a Killer is hardcore facecamping, there are very few ways to do anything about it. There's Leader, Desperate Measures, Deliverance+Decisive Strike+Unbreakable, letting a teammate get grabbed or just letting a teammate die.
hey!!! funny that you even point out that there are counters... lets ask why does DS have no counter at all? and before you get into "leave them slugged" or "don't tunnel" i'm talking the perk itself not when it happens.. please show me something that actually counters DS what so ever.
Now to your point there is more counters and here is one. get two healthy survivors and one comes in and gets the killer to swing by distracting them, (or turn their back) and then the other yoinks the hookee off with BT to keep the killer from recovering and downing the previous hookee. Add that strat to your hardly has a counter...

@Johnny_XMan said:

Not everyone who camps and tunnels is doing it because they want to win the game. Regardless, if it didn’t work you wouldn’t see so many people actually relying on these strats if they weren’t working.
The fact that the only viable (if at all) way to counter this built-in ability/mechanic is via a perk slot is simply flawed.
It’s so funny to me how people like to bring up excuses such as “well your team is fixing gens” , “the killer isn’t getting any points”, etc etc which translates to: This is not how you’re meant to play the game. Yet take issue the moment someone even remotely provides a suggestion against camping and tunneling.
Like, I am not blind to the fact that DS can become problematic in very few instances. But it is so minimal in comparison to how brokenly abused the very thing that it is suppose to counter is, in the state of the game today.
Something which again is available from the start of the match and has no downside whatsoever.
DS is 1) abused more than you say, I've seen streamers abuse it intentionally, 2) DS needs a rework yes, 3) tunneling is not broken, if you're being tunneled as people have said you either made yourself a target intentionally OR you were probably hook farmed during the game.
also the devs have never stated that this perk is anti-tunneling (you said the very thing this perk is designed to counter which implies anti-tunneling but if you meant something else well you weren't very good at expressing that). now camping and tunneling are allowed by the game, you get no points by camping unless a survivor comes in and puts you in a chase AND by standing within 8 meters of a hook you have a negative penalty to the emblem system that making it harder to pip up if you stand around them long enough. Even a quick trap set by trapper or hag will result in a -1 or -2 penalty but that doesn't matter to you because obviously you feel entitled that things that are not against the rules should be treated as if they are.

The bugginess already makes people go nuts and yet you make a code-heavy character which is full of bugs (hovering Victor is one of them).
just the fact that the post was edited by the mods here means you are not looking to help, it took someone trying to interpret what you said. why spew nothing but blind hate and contempt. even for the most seasoned of programmers you will find that they can't do things that less seasoned programmers can because the more seasoned are ingrained in what "CAN NOT" be done. this will get fixed and they will continue to work at it but when small minded posts like this are put out there it dilutes those that are trying to actually help.

yea that is true, not all bugs cause game breaking issues so why should the dc penalties be lifted? just because it's raining out does it mean the speed limit is lifted or lowered? well it is left to the cop to decide if they want to issue someone going 35 in a 55 because of the rain/weather conditions (if they think that speed is too fast for the conditions).

How on console would you check such things as you suggest? I find no options like this on my Xbox anywhere, just the ability to uninstall then reinstall the entire game. Can't look at "files" like that. No crash logs or anything. No OS monitoring for health or whatever.
I too drop out of matches from time to time, occasionally picking up the penalty. It is more due the to iffy optimization than the internet connection. Steady ping or frames are kinda unheard of on console, especially on the Xbox1 or PS4. But that 60 fps minimum is still coming soon, right?
I do not own an xbox and probably never will but google showed me this:
- Navigate to the game in your Library and click on the cog icon.
- Once open, click Verify in the drop-down navigation.
there is how you check the game files and that will help. there are probably ways to work with the operating system though on console this is not as easy as it is on a pc because of the fact the companies don't want people messing with it. now here is the rub you can check to make sure you're up to date and if not that can be part of your problem, especially if the program is making use of features that are not present because the update is not downloaded properly or at all

Thanks for the wall of text, I'm glad (according to you) it's not an issue.
if you can not read a simple paragraph then why are you even on a forum? the point is that you received ALL of the DLC but your account is
locked from the characters included in the update but you still get all of the update.
I hope leaving a line of blank helps you reading this. since a simple six line paragraph is a problem for you to read as you see it is a wall of
text.

Honestly, I dont think that this is a problem which should be solved, at least not until BHVR does not have any issues to solve anymore - so basically never.
Yes, it sucks if one guy gets the Hatch because of that, but it is happening really rare. And the person DCing will not get any BPs out of this game and will have a penalty. If they were in a SWF, they will all have to wait until the penalty expired. Losing out of BPs and gaining a penalty will also result in them not doing that this often.
And yeah, while it surely can be a problem, I consider it too minor. There are other things they should take care off.
honestly it had to be solved and has been solved. the penalty system is there, and because others abused it. that person got a 5 minute time out or more depending on how many times they dc'd. blood points is not a penalty to many, they just don't care anymore, and they drop out of the swf for a while to let their friends play on.

Alright, reformulated.
i never said it was weak because of anyone, just that it was weak. there was no one even attached to the fact it's weak. but fair you did change it and it's more understandable and doesn't seem to be you trying to make others look bad.

The "weak penalty system" is not there for people like that. It's there because, sometimes, you can get stuck in terrain or otherwise suffer from a glitch that can prevent you from playing, while still locking you in the trial.
so there is no penalty system implemented to try and deter people from breaking the game rules? that's quite interesting you think it's only here to punish people with bad internet. I totally can't agree to that because those with bad internet are the ones caught in the cross fire but you can't make something that can discern a network drop outside of the player's control versus a network cable being pulled. Also the Leave Match functionality is still available to stop people from having to shut the game down in bad ways if they do get stuck in game where egc can't stop it. you might want to re-read what you posted as you are saying the penalty system was implemented because of people who don't deserve to be punished when it was the people that broke the rules badly that caused it to exist in the first place.

I'm sure I'm not the only person playing this game with poor people internet.
I get dropped out of a game pretty much every 1-3 matches.
It is not fair to give me a stacking penalty just because I don't have the priviledge or means of splurging on top internet connection.
I play this game less because of the time penalties. When I reach up to 15+ minute time bans I usually just turn off the Xbox.
So what if people disconnect? Why even bother punishing quitters? Can't you just report people for being "early quitters?"
What do these report buttons even really do in this game anyways?
honestly I'm sorry you have that kind of internet, but you can blame the people that were using dc's rampant mid 2019 and early 2020 when it was put in. I just saw a match that someone dc'd while they were being recovered by another player. for no good reason. you can always submit a ticket to behavior and talk to them about your internet connection but I don't know what that will do as I've never tried it but it is an option in their ticket system.

randomly my game freezes and crashes. nothing to do with my internet or anything, just the game being poorly optimised. they should temporarily turn it off until next hotfix
if on pc, you should check what else is going on in your windows logs and look at any warning and urgent notification you have in the time frame of the last dc. then i'd verify your download files. on console i'd check your console to make sure the os is not messing up and then check your download files for the game. lots to look at in a game crash, can't just say oh nothing else crashes my system so it has to be their fault. could be a problem with the program files becuase your os didn't save something right, or misread information or many other things.

Just had a game with an SWF. Slugged one girl and left to go after the last survivor that was left. The slugged girl DCed and allowed the other to get the hatch. They where obviously using comms to communicate so that the other girl could get the hatch while the first DCed. Can we have that if there is a DC in the match the hatch can't open? it seems fair to me and makes sure people can't cheat to take away points earned by the killer because they are spiteful and can't deal with basic game mechanics.
this is why there is a weak penalty system put in for people who dc to allow that. but it's a step in the right direction. I know they say don't report it but i've moved on reporting disconnects but reporting the exploitation of the leave match functionality to further their own gains (friends getting out, rage quit, what ever).

I'm playing as a No fun allowed Hex devour hope and getting 4 kills from that THEN still getting a pip?
Hell yeah this was unthinkable a year ago.
it depends on your rank. and they didn't really change anything in the scoring system in the last 2 years. pipping depends on your emblem progress not your points (though points do have a tangential correlation to emblem progress) but there is much more going on there. each emblem is 0 to 4 points (none, bronze, silver, gold, iri) and 4 of them gives from a 0 to a 16 point, and if you notice there are marks (black, and two white) if you get to the mark you get no movement at black, one pip at the first white and two at the second. and I started playing over two years ago and your pips were not earned via the points but your emblems you get at the end. and also why making adept on killer is so much harder because you have to get merceless killer which before the emblems was just kill all 4, now it's a double pip only.

Here's some ideas (I am not saying to make all of this happen, just brainstorming ideas):
- Make the window to kick victor longer, or shorten his pouncing range.
- Why should victor see bright red blood? He shouldn't be allowed to see anything if hes this fast.
- Nerf victor's speed.
- Make it so even hitting an injured survivor brings you back to charlette.
- Make the switching time longer. After kicking the baby, victor cannot be used for at least another 30 seconds or more.
- Change No Mither to no longer begin as injured, just give two health states plus all effects, but still give a way for the killer to know who is running it.
- Make charlette a 110% walk speed at LEAST if you keep victor this fast.
- Victor shouldn't be able to damage anyone in a locker.
- Decrease detection range for victor.
- make it so victor cannot detect crawling or crouching.
- bloodlust is a crutch that should be removed, because griefing killers can just refuse to kick the pallet and guarantee you die at the end.
- bring back the sabotaging of Trapper bear traps. He can lock down end game with whisper + 1 trap at a door. This is bullcrap unfair for the last survior left because their random teammates sucked.
Well you obviously don't like the killer, now how about actual feedback? other than a rant of what you want so you can always win against this killer? half of what you said doesn't even pretain to the twins! it seems you have to get better. the traps of trapper have not been hard in ages. bloodlust is counterable, and well these arguments under the title of nerf the twins is a problem, and btw you did make a big no no I hope they are kind to you.

I don't quite understand what you were trying to say.
I don't know the reason why they took some time off of Pop but tbh you can still kick a gen even with the time reduction.
Also you're saying that the unhooked survivor has time to heal when you chase the person unhooking. What do you expect them to do? Stay injured? I don't get what point you're trying to make lol.
There's no reason to go back to the hook after every unhook especially since BBQ is a thing, Thrilling Tremors (If i got the right name sometimes I mix it up). There's so many perks available that help you find other survivors that you don't even need to go back to the hook. You can find someone new and keep the ball rolling.
first of all the devs stated that the killers could do too much before making use of this perk, including downing survivors, after a chase, then kicking a gen then hooking that downed survivor. now with DS: you get 60 seconds to run around do gens, totems, open chests that if the killer grabs you they end up getting ds'd. this is the same thing as a killer having too much time to make use of the pop goes the weasel perk.
What I am saying is that if a survivor has time to jump on a gen the perk should no longer be active, if the survivor is in a locker and inner strength is not active it should deactivate, if a survivor is in longer than the inner strength time (plus a second or two to exit) it should deactivate, if the survivor has time to do a totem DS should deactivate. instead people use it to body block and take hits for another they should be moving off and healing to get back in the game, also if they start healing someone DS should deactivate. make it so that you can't get 60 seconds of immunity to do anything you want then i'm fine with it.
I don't go back to the hook after every unhook, but if i'm not in a chase and the unhook is semi-close, you bet your butt I'm going back, 1) get rid of BT and 2) go get the survivor doing the unhook. if i follow scratch marks and i can't see who left them well i can't give up just because i found the same one unhooked but i prefer to find the unhooker. now as I said i don't always go back because if i'm in a chase I keep on the one i'm on unless i get the idea they will run me for a long time, then i'm off. it's situational, and I agree DS has a place but it shouldn't be so powerful that i can hook three other people and still get ds'd.
BTW you will note i did not say that it should shut off if the survivor is being healed, only if they themselves were healing others.

Just speculation but I personally believe it. I miss way more shots after this patch than before, like very simple shots.
it's a fair speculation though and was just curious if there was hard data or just personal experience that Umbra was using and I'd accept her saying it more than some others because I know and have seen her play she'd have the experience to see the changes but it'd be nice to have the back up of the devs too

But here's the thing, there will ALWAYS be people that will find some type of loop hole that's just the way it is. There will always be people that will find some way to abuse a certain perk and you can't just base changes on those people because if we're being real i've only had a handful of people jump into lockers.
Now from when I'm playing survivor the timer is usually finished before the killer sees me again. 1minute is really not that long especially if someone else kept the killer busy. It's only long when it comes to end game and you need to hook people to keep survivors from leaving.
about every match i go up against a ds wielding survivor and they get unhooked and when i find them again i see them run into a locker when they are full health???!!! tells me they got ds and at that point i wish i was as trapper so that I can just place a trap right infront of the locker so they have to step in it hehehehe This is also after I chased their unhooker and not them, they got healed up and did what ever.
you know your argument about 1 minute not being very long except when you're being chased by the killer.... if that's the case WHY did they use that reasoning to remove 15 seconds from pop goes the weasel? hmmm looks like it's too long to have it stay at 1 minute, perhaps lets reduce each tier by 15 seconds.... maybe tier 1 is only 20 seconds long since 1 minute is tooo long. sarcasm aside, you are correct when the gates are powered and the killer has to keep people on hooks it is a very long time, and egc is 2 minutes long, that's 1/2 the time of egc.... enough to get across red forest, get to the gate and get it open or crawl out an open gate while slugged. it's really in need of tweaking, not a nerf but tweaking so that it can be dealt with and no longer be the only perk without some sort of counter play.

If you know of Umbra on a stream of hers she actually explains what happened with the hatchets. Before the patch the hatchets center point was around the middle of the hatchet handle and now the center point is the bottom of the hatchet. I'm pretty sure it affects the hatchets hitbox as I've missed quite alot of window and pallet hits that I feel like I should have gotten.
do we have 100% dev confirmation on this or just speculation from a very knowledgeable source that doesn't have all the information and making postulations (valid ones at that) with the evidence at hand only?
-
the problem with MMR is that it did only give killers either EASY games or HARD games. if you were high ranked it gave you easy games for what ever reason it didn't match you vs your skill or rating but with low ranked survivors. if you were a low ranked killer (15-20) you were almost always pitted against rank 1-4 survivors. not much of a challenge, not much of a match making, and you know what? they shut it down because it was causing people to quit playing and they saw this. I hope they get it right but i honestly don't think it'll ever work because of the way things are going. ah well.

See, thing is, you're still not engaging with what I'm saying. Your counterargument to what I'm saying about balance issues is "well, I have fun and think it's fine, so there!" That's fine, you're entitled to your opinion, but don't claim that you're making "counterarguments" or advancing the discourse, because you're really not. I'm not trying to be flippant, and I'm not trying to insult anyone; you're the one who replied to me with a wall of text and basically said (whatever you claim) that I should "leave the game if I'm so bored" which you'll note is something I never said. It's like you're arguing with some alternate reality version of me that's saying all these things that I haven't said (strawman, anyone?)
You don't need to spend a paragraph rehashing what I said about the pointlessness of arguing with someone who has a completely opposing and entrenched viewpoint in the absence of any hard evidence (actually, even in presence of hard evidence people with opposing viewpoints aren't really much better at convincing the other one to change their views).
Have a good day.
so you're quitting the discussion, you have the right to but that just shows you can't even discuss what was there. you claimed "I have fun and think it's fine so there... well that's not what I said in the slightest, so you feel that you can make things up and not have a proper discussion, please have a great day and enjoy yourself while others continue the discussion.

Because forcing two objectives can sometimes be too much and nothing compares to it. Imagine a survivor perk that forces killer to go rabbit hunting before he can kill survivors. That's ruin/undying.
you do realize that survivors have a secondary objective and it has been stated by the devs if that secondary objective is not taken care of noed is all on the survivors? well the same is said here... if you don't take ruin and undying out well you're screwed unless you stay on those gens. and you're saying that survivors can't do a secondary objective? wow apparently you are unable to keep track of 5 totems and 5 gens at the same time? killers keep track of 4 survivors and 5 gens. and the survivors are already moving and killers keep track of them quite well. something I do at the begining of every match I find a gen start working, see if ruin is in play if not great if so i keep an eye on totems.
@TangledNoodles said:
It's funny how killers will complain so much about DS when they have SO many perks that are just a pain to go against. I started using DS lately because honestly I don't wanna be tunneled out of the game in 2 mins.
I've had games where I never even got to use DS and that's completely fine! I've also had games where I didn't get to use DS and the killer still got a 4k without tunneling.
From what I gather most of the killers asking for a DS nerf just don't know how to track survivors which is crazy considering how many tracking perks killers have.
If you're so scared of getting struck by DS, slug them (even if they might have unbreakable at least they're not running around doing objectives), find someone else, go after the person unhooking, if you can't find them patrol gens! That's what I do when I play killer and it works out pretty fine.
You have to keep in mind that there is a reason why you're getting hit by DS.
most killers really expect it if they are picking up right after unhook down again. but they don't expect it when they come across the person later after chasing others and doing other things. the devs said that it was the fact that killers had too much time to do other things for the reason behind pop's time reduction, however ds was not even talked about as that one minute is 3/4ths of a gen on your own of safety with tier 3 ds. don't get me wrong, DS is a good perk but so many use it incorrectly by shielding their unhookers, harrassing the killer just to get the ds in, this is what I call the weaponization of the perk. jumping into lockers to force the ds hoping the killer was about to attack and be right at the locker for it. this is such a good way to get the killer to die laughing as if they are a trapper they'll just set a trap outside the locker! hehehhee

I play both sides but I don't think you do. It is called Decisive Strike, notice the first part of the name. It should be decided by the survivor, not at the killers convenience. Killer already has way too much control when it is used. Imagine a movie where the survivor must ask the killer for permission to strike them. That is actually what you want with DS, an even weaker perk than what it already is.
Ruin, Tinkerer wins killers games for them, DS hardly does.
First of all, if I pick you up and there is an obsession in the match it's more than likely because I want you to DS me. I want to get it out of the way. this means I control it, the survivor only controls it if they get picked up. so you see I do play both sides, I have DS and you down me I get to choose to use it or not, if you have DS and I down you, I can choose to pick you up and let you DS me or I can leave you down and let it run out. I guess I don't play both sides lol, with over 2500 hours in the game and over 2 years of playing I'm pretty sure I know what I do from both sides especially when I have a P3-50 trapper and a P3 huntress, several p1 killers, a P3 nurse and many P1 survivors, a p3-50 all perk (but the new ones) claudette and P3-50 nea that I'm still working all the perks there.... and I think @keygun actually hit the nail on the head, and though he/she and I have butted heads in the past I think they got it in one, if survivors don't do their secondary objectives as well as the primary ones they will loose. a killer has to do their secondary objectives (gen defense) more quickly and often than their primary because otherwise they loose.
