Undying doesn't reproc unless you leave the AOE, and I wasn't talking about that situation in the first place. Undying allows mobility killers to easily interrupt cleansing, unless two people are cleansing two totems at the same time. Cleansing progress isn't saved so the survivor getting interrupted just wasted all that time looking for and starting the cleanse and now they're a free chase and probably started off by giving the killer a free hit.

fine if i'm wrong on the indicator and visual then I am wrong I don't play with it because i don't have undying on any of my killers currently, but again DO the bones!

  • @Kind_Lemon said:

Survivors who cleanse totems are more likely to die against better killers since better killers capitalize extremely off of survivors ignoring gens or saves or dying teammates to go for totems.

What you are saying assumes that you're always going to face an average or good killer, which is not always true.

Furthermore, "punishment" by introducing more and more mechanics to have survivors break dull totems is a terrible way to design things since that's not conducive to human learning behavior. The bp change was more likely to have encouraged players to break dull totems than anything like Undying.

Your post fails in that it doesn't even begin to address the underlying issues behind why survivors don't cleanse dull totems, and you instead pose a very one-sided view without much of the nuance of the issue to be had.

this is not punishment. don't do totems if you don't want to but if there is noed, undying/ruin then don't ######### complain because you didn't do totems. the game has a secondary objective for the killer AND for the survivor. killer has to defend gens and hooks (though their secondary objective is REALLY a primary one but we'll call either one the secondary. survivor has to power gens and has a secondary objective to do totems. you don't like ruin in play? or undying? then CLEANSE THE DAMN TOTEMS! if you don't give a damn and don't complain when there are hex perks in play who the ######### cares then, just keep going on about your business. I have met many a good killer and I've cleansed totems. I've seen RED RANKED survivors cleansing totems for various reasons, and you know what? they DONT COMPLAIN about noed other than to say "damn it we didn't catch a totem!" and they are not crying that noed, ruin/undying are unfair, they know to CLEANSE the totems in the red ranks and they escape as well!

lets look at noed: Killers have 4 perks to play with and they can choose freely what to put there, if they choose noed they run with 3 perks because noed won't come into play until after the gens are done. if the survivors cleanse the totems then he never gets that perk active and lost out. if the survivors don't they get smacked with NOED and then they are scrambling to abandon the match by dc or escape through exit or hatch with no care in the world as to what the other survivors are doing. I've seen someone that I never hooked, saw or even hit DC at the end of the match because I downed someone with noed with the gate open right next to a hook (bw was NOT in my arsenal but they thought it could be). So instead of looking for the totem or trying to get out they abandoned about 20K worth of base points not to mention I put up a BPS and one other did as well. I didn't give a damn if anyone got out, I was just playing with what I had that was good.

lets look at undying/ruin: so two totems are already lit, and if you come across one you have a 50/50 chance of getting undying first and causing ruin to not move if cleansed next. but if you remove one to three other dull totems you can nail ruin and not care in the world! and I use YOU as the collective you not the individual.

two simple situations where the survivors come out on top by doing totems. I say again, if you don't cleanse totems as your own rule, that's fine but the next time you claim that noed isn't fair, or ruin/undying is unfair I'll say well you should have been cleansing totems as you went along because well... it happens and your complaints are invalid! lol.

Dunno where this logic is coming from, could you explain in a little more detail?

ok so undying allows the killer to see auras when you are within a certain radius of the totem. if the gen is right next to the totem as some are then the killer will have a visual while you are there. simple logic, now you add that it takes you 80 seconds to do a gen alone provided no buff or debuff to that time and you've got what i said.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1832524#Comment_1832524

Exactly this. It’s fine to be predominantly focused on gens, but if it’s obvious the Ruin Undying combo is in play, and fills that are spotted in plain sight on travels to and from gens, or pretty much right next to gens, then please, they shouldn’t be ignored.

damn straight because if you're doing a gen by a totem and you're close enough the killer can see you for 80 seconds while you do that gen so they can litterally know what is going on. why not take 16 seconds and remove that bit of information and then do the gen??? lol some people. and @TheClownIsKing thanks :)

You also need to factor in the time it takes to find the totem, not just the time to cleanse them. Their estimate is much more accurate than yours. And also consider that you have no idea how many totems are left on the map (unless you did them all yourself or are in a SWF) because we still don't have a counter for them. So you could've spent several minutes running around the map cleansing 3 or 4 totems only to find at the end it didn't matter because you couldn't find the last one and NOED proceed anyway, or you always cleansed Ruin and not Undying because of bad luck. And then when NOED does activate, the killer gets one down and the rest of you escape anyway because that's all NOED does. So nah I'd rather do the primary objective because I damn well know the survivors won't be.

if you alone are doing totems sure! but if everyone cleansed a totem when they see them then it won't be 2 gens. I'm not advocating people to just go searching for all the totems! I'm just saying we should cleanse totem. so if you cleanse one totem, i cleanse another, survivor c does and survior d cleanse a 4th that's 4 down in 16 seconds and no one is delayed. one more to go after that and who ever gets it gets it. you can't say that 4 survivors will ALL take 160 seconds to cleanse one maybe TWO totems! this is the fallacy people like you keep perpetuating and yes i will call you out! on that!

  • @MadLordJack said:

Not gonna happen. Dull totems have been a stupid objective to do for years that will get you and your team killed attempting to do, adding Undying won't break habits stretching back to Hag.

Especially since the killer can see you cleansing dulls with Undying and is probably a Spirit, Blight or Freddy that can pop over and ######### up your day, thus wasting the time you just spent trying to cleanse a dull totem.

so the totem you are ignoring for 80 seconds lets the killer know exactly which gen you are on for that time frame. so why not take it out in 16 seconds then do the gen in relative peace since freddy won't know where to find you. lol

Jesus who pissed in your cereal? Do you see me complaining about them in my comment? The only thing I dislike about undying is the aura reading, and noed is a terrible perk anyway.

no one "pissed in my wheaties" as you put it. You just are arrogant enough to end up making those claims with your proclamation, you are line the ones that complain that noed is too op and when people say do bones, they say the exact words you used. I'm tired of people who complain about something they can help. I had someone ask why should I do bones when it's the equivalant of 2 gens. I said it's not, and they insist it is. but it isn't 16 seconds * 5 totems = 80 seconds and that's 1 gen IF you are the only one to do it. but nope gotta do gens... I will not tolerate people that act like that and you are acting like they are so i extrapolated from your statement your likely stance on noed and ruin/undying.

the devs say they have ds on their radar to be worked on sometime in the future but they have to look at undying because it's being used too much. and so many people laughed at that because right after that they said they were going to working on keys and moris and then only released the mori change without any promise for keys to be worked except "sometime in the future but we think soon" great way to say never. and it's people that don't want to do bones that complain about undying being tooooooo OP and won't do bones. same mentality across the board.

Yeah I will do! this seems bizzar that no one else has brought this up but thank you probably is the better way to hopefully bring light to the issue I'm seeing.

    🙌🐷

as @Angelicus23 says there are other reasons but if the devs can some how duplicate your issue they'll work for it, and if not you've learned that they still try :) and you are very welcome, reporting issues is a very valid thing to do no matter the issue be it an exploit or be it a bug or other issue. :) good luck!

Yeah sure you never give up and all, how about others like me who has like 50h into the game and I play against ranks (1_1_3_1) while I am rank 11 or 10, not just one time, more than once, actually the best match I get is against ranks 8, I rarely get match up against lower or equal rank to me, as if they never existed, long story short I deleted the game cuz I already have frustration issues and don't want to deal with teabagging nerds who have spent 500h or so in the game already

hell if you've only 50 hours in the game and you're already rank 10, that means either you yourself got carried or you have learned a great deal in a short amount of time. when I was at 50 hours I was still unable to hit the old DS/overcharge/ruin skill checks for the life of me. so you are obviously the better player why not let you face those better killers so you can learn more. You might think about what and how you said this because it came off as if you were bragging being a rank 11-13 in 50 hours. when I started playing oct 2018, there were many things different and it made learning hard. I didn't see green ranks even when I was swfing with purple and red ranks till about 200 hours in on survivor and killer that took a while to get out of the brown ranks.

match making is your rank with a range of 6 on either side of yours. And if you wait a while it WILL open that window up to 7 or more ranks on either side of yours! so facing groups with 1-3's like you suggest, it's not hard to see that it might do that.

    @Kolonite said:

They should just adjust matchmaking around the highest rank survivor in your swf. If you have a red rank you get red rank killers.

They tried that and it broke matchmaking for a while I've continued to say this because it is what they themselves said and they reverted it back.

  • get some videos of this in the mp4 format, put it on youtube and submit a ticket through the support team, OR go to the feedback/suggestion/bug section and let them see it and perhaps they can then address it.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

I never understand why people don't cleanse totems. Especially when the killer is 'afk'... I don't have enough fingers to count the matches where it turned out that: nope, killer's faking afk, they got noed and bloodwarden, and i'm the only one who got out cause everyone else been merrily dancing round the killer and ultimately got downed (either with noed cause i didn't find the last totem or because they panicked when the killer wasn't giving them easy points after all) and hooked and then got stuck due to bloodwarden.

As a friend once wrote it:

    My name is Claud

    I like to hide

And sneak around and heals provide.

And when I crouch and, there in stones

see candles lit: I cleanse the bones.

I have a saying and it's got two other itterations:

    1) If it glows, it goes!

    2) If it glows, it blows!

    3) If it blows, it goes!

hehehe and if it's dry bones it's dust!

This is literally the dumbest possible reply. If we didn't complain about this ######### it wouldn't be on the devs ######### radar. You know how long it takes them to get what we say. How long did it take them to change moris? How long did it take map infinite to be removed? All the "whining* made that ######### happen. So don't come here bitching that we want this fixed.

you are complaining about people playing with a rank 20 survivor, without knowing if it 's a survivor that's played many many hours and took a year (5 months are only needed) break and are rusty, OR that rank 20 survivor might be a BRAND NEW PLAYER! and you're saying they can't play with someone when their friend has been playing for a while and gotten high up in ranks? wow, you know most games that are past 2 years old get the MAJORITY of their new players because of people that PLAY and those people are generally friends and play together when they can. Sure you can make it so a rank 20 can't play with a rank 1, but what about a rank 16? what about a rank 12? you know what? you may think my response is dumb but I will say this at least I know my english and the true meaning of DUMB and it is only a SLANG reference to "stupid", I at least can support my arguments with facts instead of wishful thinking like yours.

Oh yea I forgot: changing/removing infinites is not the same as removing the ability to play with others. Many people would QUIT playing if they couldn't play with their friends in matches that matter. and people new coming in though some are solo are usually brought in as a friend of one that has been playing for a while.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

I'm not wasting time cleansing dull totems, survivors already waste enough time crouching round the edges of maps and staying as far away from gens as humanly possible, so any time I'm not on a gen or being chased is detrimental and guarantees a loss.

then NEVER complain about noed or undying. if you don't want to do your secondary objectives as a survivor you can stuff any ideas against noed or undying. why? because you decided you didn't care about a way to remove these perks and not cause them to affect anymore. you are part of the reason I and other people will take the extra perk slot and time to take to cleanse the totems just in case that happens.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami said:

But rank isn't a good measure of skill either with he current emblem system.

When are we going to go back to a kill/survive-based ELO?

That's even worst, and will push the toxic game play even further forward. the emblem system needs an overhaul YES, Ranks need to be addressed at the same time and see what we can do. Lets look at something that many people talk about but most don't take into account. when the game first came out the end results for killer was dependant upon the number of kills for entity displeased, brutal killer, merciless where survivors have dead, sac or escape for their results. survivors to get their adepts only had to escape and killers only had to get merciless which meant they killed all 4 survivors. now with the emblem system survivors still only have to escape and the killers have to DOUBLE PIP. this is a discrepancy that has caused many newer players to not even try for the achievement because its neigh impossible unless you are going against lower skilled players (it is possible but very, very hard at the high ranks) and even then you have to let them do a damn good bit and you still risk either killing them too quickly or loose too many gens, too many chases etc.

So yes the emblem system needs to be revamped but not just discarded to go back to the darker days. I hope the devs can work on a way to fix this so that people can do things again and then also find a new way to fix the ranking system at the same time.

  • @konchok said:

When matchmaking, ignore the rank of the lowest survivor if the SWF has more than 2 players. This problem would literally disappear overnight.

    @Aneurysm said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1830767#Comment_1830767

They changed it so that matchmaking is based on the highest rank in the squad, then sneakily changed it back, although the people who do this type of thing noticed

They did not sneakily change it back, @Aneurysm , it honestly BROKE the match making system, it was a free range that was later seen (but smaller) wen they said they introduced the MMR. I saw rank 1 killers facing rank 20 squads and getting crap for it, even though they had nothing to do with it being like that. That was the result of the lets make match making off of the best ranked player in the SWF. and both of your ideas are essentially the same @konchok because it introduces another level of complexity in the matching algorithm.

  • AS others have said people don't want to touch 1000 point items because they can finish the game faster then wait another 10 minutes for another game. then they feel that they have the "RIGHT" to complain about killers bringing noed since totems are time wasters. I was doing totems and at the end of the game we got hit with what i thought was noed, i didn't see the name of what we got cursed with and it ended up being devour hope. but still it took all match to find the totem and we got it right at the end. still totems are WORTH it! cleanse them... that's 1K bloodpoints or 1.5K if it's a hex totem!

They can just remove perk tiers and increase the price of all items and perks in the bloodweb, so it's still has some grindy but not the one we have.

It's a good change because really perk tiers are stupid, some perks have difference of like 2-3 seconds for each tier.

again with 2 perks to choose from in most webs 10 to 39 and then 3 from 40 to 49 and 4 at level 50, the grind will be significantly reduced and people will get the perks in and it doesn't matter what things cost. it's not a good solution to remove the tiers. here is the thing, you will see the problem: there are about 85 perks in the game per side (about as there are less killers than survivors) but for each of them that means you must complete a minimum of that number of blood webs to get them by removing the tiers. and everything is bland you have no variance in what is done. so no matter what you have now made it simple and quick to get every perk in the blood web but you end up not having to do anything for ages because you don't have perks to get and you only get items from in the game so you don't have to do much at all. you get bored as there is nothing to do but repeat games with the same boring small pp build (or killer version of this) and then what do you do? you go find another game to play. so the burn out happens faster without the grind.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

Devotion level should at least bar you from newbie ranks. If you have multiple perks on several characters, then you don't need to be playing with people struggling to master the basics.

ok fine you play killer and have multiple perks on several killers yet you've never played survivor before! oh yea great idea.... again what you propose is not a good indicator, look at this event time frame they are giving out blood points and they don't have to work for it at all.

  • @Moundshroud said:

I don't disagree with you about the fact that there are people who simply don't learn, but I think they are probably the minority. I think the Bell Curve of people who are Devotion-3 are probably a better matched against other Devotion-3 (or at most 2s and 4s) than they are against Devotion-1. :) People do learn at different speeds but I think there is a margin of error where the Devotion probably could (and should) play a factor.

Devotion level is your KILLER AND SURVIVOR ranks combinded due to the time you've spent. if you have 2500+ hours and 2400 hours are spent as killer you probably have devotion 5 already and then they start doing survivor for some reason and you expect them to be good enough to be a devotion 5 survivor??? sure they know some as they've probably learned some things but they are still a devotion 0 or devotion 1 survivor. it's not a good way of matching people just like the number of hours to be used as matching what so ever still isn't a good indicator of skill.

  • @AggressiveFTW said:

Removing perk tiers has been a recommended solution to the long grind for a really long time now, and they still haven't done anything about it. How come they haven't done anything about it to this day? What's taking them such a long time for a solution to the grind?

oh yes let's make it so you don't have to do much with the blood web. people will do their dailies and stop playing for 3 days and then do 3 more. then they will play other things. the reason it's a grind is to keep people pushing to get the perks as well as the items but once the perks are gotten the web is stagnate till they need something if they play at all. meh i really think this is fine, it makes people push for the perks and more. anyways I doubt they will take that out of the game as it is litterally the ONLY reason to do the blood web for the most part. remove that and it's easy mode to get what you wanted and then you'll be bored.

I was pressing directional keys on my keyboard while in the snap out of it animation, and would not move. The game decided it was better for me to continue snapping out of it.

The game prioritizes snapping out of it over ALL other actions other than vaulting or pallet dropping or exit gate/hatch opening. it affects ALL skill action. and YES it does override mending and as said if you have shift held you can not snap out of it. just the way it works and always has.

  • first of all if someone is bringing a new person into the game and they are red ranks, they better know what they are in for as a rank 20. the killer i understand how it's gonna be rough but the idea of survive with friends is to bring people together and let people have fun, so yes you will see this happen. They tried to make the match making key off the highest rank (rank 1 etc) but it didn't work and broke the match making system over all. I hope they can make it better, but stop whining about this as it will not be removed and to tell someone they can't play with their friend because thy just started playing is going to put off more people than you realize and that gets to be bad. sigh why is it always you can't do X or shouldn't allow Y when there are bigger issues in the game? and YES I have faced this type of group and it is frustrating but i don't give up, i finish the game and learn from it.

  • my belief is that the killer is checked against every survivor and there is a +/- 6 ranks that they can be matched, EVEN in a SWF. it's supposed to be the average of the SWF but I don't know. also the ones that are 1-2 ranks out of that range can mean that the killer had to wait a while, or the survivors were waiting a while and the game starts opening up that window. we don't know the time frame of that nor do we know the exact matchmaking algorithm.

How is Series S weaker? Can you explain the difference between S and X?

look at their hardware and you'll see why the series S is weaker than the series X. also the series X is the new generation and has better hardware than previously.

biggest thing i've heard about the next gen consoles (in its name it's a NEW platform due to program need and hardware calls) is that they are not considered the same platform as the previous gen.

Hex: noed = survivors doing gens

    Rancor = survivors doing gens

Iron maiden = survivors getting in/out of lockers

Dragon's grip = survivor touching a regressing gen

There is not a single exposed perk that requires the killer to do something, it's all about survivors doing something for it to work, why is there not a single perk that reward killers for doing well?

A perk if you get stunned 7-6-5 times your next attack will give the exposed status effect

After every 6-5-4 hooks your next attack will 1 shot the survivor

There no perk that reward the killer for a quick down on survivors, it all depends on survivors actions which call be countered.

Why is there no perk that reward/give the killer with an exposed next attack?

devour hope and make your choice: also requires the killer to be a distance away from the hook as well.

noed and rancor: doing your objective is great how about adrenaline or hope? that's completed by doing gens as well as the killer not getting to you all fast enough and putting enough pressure on the gens.

you are forgetting ghost face's and mikie's stalking, oni's rage and blight's pink add on that puts exposed on the next hit at the last token. you are forgetting plagues power that puts you in the broken status effect, clown's pinkie finger add on that exposes you if you are hit by a bottle. deathslingers pink add on that exposes you if speared 15 meters or more. huntress' iri head add on that is a one shot down with a reduction of 4 hatchets. billy's and bubba's chain saw.

now lets talk about countering these: devour and make your choice, you can unhook within the terror radius (not infront of the killer) and not get the status, noed you can do bones and you won't have that. iron maiden, don't go in lockers. so your choice of what to do my advice to you would be to Make Your Choice.

It's weird when people being up the first amendment in online contexts. The internet isn't a US territory for one thing.

actually it is because they are us citizens and always think that they are due this protection anywhere they go, especially if it is a us based company or person. but you are correct, the only time it comes into play is if the city/state/federal government of the united states steps in and censures something online themselves or acts upon a post that originates or terminates with a united states based company or person. If i were to tell you that your father was a hamster and your mother smelt of elderberries you could cry first amendment all you want, but since my post was not a "hate speak" then you have no recourse. If this company decides to censure my post I also can cry first amendment but it doesn't apply because they are 1) not a us company and 2) not the city/state/federal government.

You see it here on this forum a great deal because so many don't like their opinion challenged and I step out and say now, now you can't pull that card because they aren't the federal government (or city or state). because people are taught that they have rights but most stop listening where those rights end. So in this case a non-US company has taken an official stance and they can act where they can have some control like here on their forums, webpages and they can even approach platforms like twitch and request censorship of a stream/streamer but twitch does not have to comply though they may do so if they so desire as they are not a city, state or federal government entity.

And what exactly would the benefit of this be? Stop survivors from swapping what they look like? Punishing survivors because it's "unfair" that killers have to deal with it?

it would stop survivors from having a "blendette" with the flash light and swapping to it at 7 seconds before match. it'd stop people from making the killer think ok it'll be a nice match and then suddenly it's 4 exact looking kates, one with a key, another with a map, and two tool boxes. and crap like that. before there was an unencrypted file that said who the killer was and survivors exploited that by changing perks out to ones like calm spirit because it's the doc, so killers took to doing the same. they'd start the match making as doc and switch to plague or something else that calm spirit has no sway etc. this is the problem that people see and not in small amounts. oh yea those 4 man squads of exactly the same looking character all would be DS 3 and UB 3 along with two other perks.

Big deal, not like survivors ever had time to adjust to an incoming mori. There are far bigger concerns in this game which need to be adressed than something as small as this.

and killers have no time to adjust to an offering of midwitch, haddonfield, the farm/corn maps etc. personally I think that the minute that it goes into the lobby it should go RIGHT INTO loading (like in kyf) and no one has a chance once they ready up to change what they will do. set up before ready up just like the killer, everyone is fine, no one knows the other. Leave the SWF lobby the same let them make preps, the killers can deal with the SWFs or they can't, doesn't matter because neither side has a chance to see the other, no one can prep for what they see till they are on the battlefield.

Ohhh last 30 years you say. Im am deeply sorry that i probably could not make you understand what's happening here because of the generational gap. Its just really stupid internet ######### but a good rule of thumb is to just never read anything on the internet. Periodt

if it's a good rule of thumb to never read anything on the internet, why are you responding to my post? and because of the fact I grew up before the internet was even open to the public and saw the internet grow into what it is today, I also have seen the trend of the country here to coddle people and make them feel good and not continue to push for better things, instead people are finding offense at everything posted and then cries that they are protected from people calling them on their lies and crap because of something that doesn't even cover them. but you shouldn't be reading this because of your rule of thumb and keep blissfully ignorant of how bad things are.

They could've, yes, but as I said they don't see the point in disabling it just to re-enable it when they finish working on the MMR. So they want to leave it implemented so that people get used to it, cause it's going to be how the game is anyways.

MMR definitely was there, cause when they said it was activated I actually got teams of survivors who gave me a challenge instead of dealing with some potato that can't tell I'm a crouched Pig and not a crouched Survivor until too late.

The MMR system will (or should) give you two different MMR percentages. One for how well you play against a certain killer as survivor, and one for how well you play as that killer. So when you play survivor, it wouldn't matter which survivor you picked, you'd still go against the same skill level pig's, huntresses, Nurses, ECT. And as Killer you'd have a different percentage for each killer you play that reflects your skill level with said killer. Hope that helps you understand why it would, or how it would (more so should if they do it right) work. This way the killer lock mechanic would work how they want, and survivors switching wouldn't do anything more than it already does.

it should but what they put out before didn't do anything it just seemed like random matching with whom ever was at hand and ready. nothing at all. this game will not discern from someone disconnecting and someone that died on hook because they didn't want to face the killer or just wanted out of the match for one reason or the other. it will artifically inflate the win rate and loss rate because of disconnections. there is way too much grey area that is not even being talked about, much less any real information about how it really works so they can claim it's working as intended even through it didn't. I know why they are doing it, they are trying to think it is coming back soon but meh i think they are a very long way from getting code in to do what they really want.

And you say it was there, but even though I played in that time I played many more hours than they said were needed for it to be accurate and I would get red rank survivors with my rank 16 trapper and brown ranked killers to my ranks 8 survivor and the point those brown ranked players barely knew how to play the game. almost every match was that way, how can a rank 16 trapper continually get red ranks only? and a rank 8 be put in a lobby with a killer that still is wet behind the ears? I had a few that were skill comparable but those were far and few between. the amount of people posting about it, talking on stream and my own experience showed it was purely random match making which could invariably put you and a few others in skill comparable groups even though it's not matching anything.

The reason the killer lock is still in place is because for them to turn it off and on we have to go through an update, while the MMR system can just be turned on and off freely. So they don't see the reason going through the work in disabling it just to re-enable it, and would rather killers get used to it.

I believe survivors should be locked too though, people's reasons they shouldn't is that they're just "skins", but imo they aren't cause you will tend to have one or more survivors with better items, perks, etc than your others. And it doesn't always annoy me but last second switching can, especially with them knowing a key change is coming soon, get very annoying.

they could have turned the killer lock off at any of the patches this past week. the reason they won't is because they keep saying they are about to turn MMR back on at a moments notice but honestly I don't think the MMR was there I think they want it there and have ideas but I don't think it will work here nor was there before. also the devs see the survivors as skins so they don't care what you change to, atleast they've encrypted the file that was being used to know who you were playing against.

I live 30meters away from my provider control unit, 400km away from frankfurt server, the killers that usually get horrible hits live 4000+km away from frankfurt. But surely it's my fault with my own lagspikes even tho the fiber cable in my city is 8months old and all my home cables are 6 months old.

Sometimes those killers stream, they have over 100 ping, i always have 30 ping even when i connect to uk's server i never have more than 50. I don't even know why people still try to deny that when a killer has a cheap connection he's gonna get unfair hits.

you can be one meter, you still go to a trunk line which carries everyone else to the substation if you are on a cable internet like. if you are on DSL you're still going much slower than what cable internet is, and if you are on dialup it doesn't matter this is the slowest transmission. latency can change once you're past your ISP going to your destination too. this is not a "DISTANCE" issue, the only time it is is if you can use DSL "Digital Subscriber Line" or not.

Not looking to get anyone banned, not looking to debate what I’ve experienced or hear someone play devils advocate, simply wanted to find out if anyone else had noticed it.

I’m confident that most experienced players in the game will notice a full on SWF when they see it, the builds they run are a big give away, all friends with each other on steam, 2000+ hours per player except the “new” guy who’s on 50 hours but his play doesn’t exactly match the game time.

I know exactly what I’ve seen, it’s only been a handful of times and that’s possibly because I’ve dropped down ranks to attempt to complete some of the harder killer adept achievements.

So just to close this out, it doesn’t bother me, it doesn’t usually effect me but it could be an issue for mid ranked weaker killers.

it bothered you enough to try to find out if others see it as well... btw i've got 2500+ hours and i don't play the meta game I play what perks I feel will do me the best of good. you also have to realize that you can not know how many hours that person has played in dbd without them displaying it on their profile on steam. I never thought you were trying to get someone banned or anything like that I just wanted you to realize what other posibilities there are.

one time I logged in to a game solo, and we got in, worked on things and when the game was over the killer asked if we were a SWF and we said nope none of us know the other. Just so happened we worked together without needing to communicate verbally to each other.

so you admit to reducing your ranking just to do certain parts of the game and did this intentionally? that's a bold statement considering that is not allowed in the rules. enjoy and good luck out there.

I have a good connection and i know it, even the game shows that when i connect to frankfurt server i have <30 ping.

Those random lagspikes you're talking about don't exist, those hits happen only when i am playing against players that live very far away from the server i am connecting to or guess what? The same exact players i had already horrible hits with.

If there is a consistency of horrible hits against the same player again and again even on different matches while i don't have the same issues with killers that live near the server like me or with good connection then it's pretty clear there's no such thing as "random lagspike" or my connection being bad, there's players with cheap connection being rewarded by a questionable hit reg system that awards them

so you have a 100% direct connection that is solely between you and your provider? I doubt that highly. that'd be VERY expensive indeed, you may have that kind of cash but I highly doubt that. cable internet (fiber AND copper) uses a TRUNK methodology that if there are fewer users on at any one time you get more of the bandwidth you have access to, when more people get on the internet that bandwidth shrinks and can cause lag and you may not even notice it. PLEASE learn how the internet actually works when you are trying to say that you have no lag spikes what so ever as that's an amazing thing. Dialup is slow as hell and affords you a relative direct connection to the isp, DSL is a bit faster but you have to be within a certain distance from the local substation if not can't get it and it's still dial up. if you have dish network you are using a weak dish antenna to broadcast through the atmosphere and if it's stormy you will get spikes, pixilation on tv etc. cable that is underground you end up finding is the fastest but you share it with your neighborhood's trunk line and that can cause all sorts of issues. none of the issues i mentioned here are easily detected, nor is it something you can affect what so ever without drastic measures.

Sorry, I should have made it clearer. I’ve seen when a low ranked player and joins his friends, he stands out like a sore thumb, is clearly new and the other players do their best to protect him which is perfectly fine. I’m referring to an obvious smurf account where the low rank smurf player finishes top of the table on 25k + and is the strongest player on the team.

again please prove hey are not someone that has been gone a while? you know rank reset will in 5 months set you back to 20 even if you were rank 1. this isn't an obvious smurf account but someone that hasn't played in a while. OR they are new. doesn't matter. Devs have said there is nothing wrong with another account on the same pc, "steam family and friends" etc. sorry not something that is "banable" and you'd have to really prove it.

    It's not a conspiracy.

It doesn't work. There's not hidden agenda behind it, it's not working. That's it.

If anyone tries to convince me that hit validation is working, it won't work because I can VPN to the UK, or Norway and prove them wrong.

Any VPN killer should not be receiving the hits they currently are, because the "server" steps in and makes sure the killer doesn't get the hit.

It's. Not. Working. And that's it.

the conspiracy i brought up is you saying they are sweeping things under the rug by moving them to the proper forum to be posted to instead of the general discussion forum. You might try understanding that someone is responding directly to your specific post especially when they even put it in their typed response to you.

now lets tackle this new idea with what you said and explain how things are working via the internet. you talk about hit validation and vpn connections. sure you can do that, set up a vpn as you said to the uk and prove them wrong, but you won't you'll prove them right as well as prove to others you are not looking for a solution but looking to make the problem again. so here it is: normally when you connect to dbd and go searching for a match it will do it's best to connect you to the region you are in for the best games and if you are in a swf you will get a regional server center on the person that everyone joined on. This will include some latency depending on where that regional center is. IF how ever you VPN into a different region, then dead by daylight will see that you are part of that region and connect you to that region so it only takes into account where the VPN exits and it's connection to the server center from there. HOW EVER there is a hidden latency that causes things to not be understood by the hit validation software because it doesn't even see it.

I don't think hit validation is working 100% yet nor do I perceive it to be working 100% anytime soon, but they are working on it and trying to make things better where I feel you are looking only to complain and finding ways to make it about you when it's not about you at all. you think you know what happens but you only look at it from your point of view instead of how the reality is, you will be hit, you will occasionally be hit when you think you shouldn't be but that is life because you do not know the exact nanosecond the computers and servers determine that you were hit and it takes time to travel along and be displayed on your end. You thus cry "hit validation is borked!" which it isn't, it may not be working 100% but the fact that it still takes 30-60 milliseconds (that's 30,000 to 60,000 nanoseconds) for the server to update your pc. and during that time your pc is moving on ahead of the server because that's how it is. so it's gotta determine the hit, then it's gotta mark the hit thus starting it's transmission to you and then depending on your latency it takes time for your computer to register the hit what so ever and then display it to you and your eyes can not perceive milliseconds so it takes time for the display you are possibly now 100,000 nanoseconds after the actual hit determination by the time you even can see it on your screen thus by that time you are now behind that wall instead of just starting around the wall. This is why a survivor when put into the dying state by an m1 attack shifts forward or backwards on the killer's side instead of dropping right where it was hit.

    Great.

so you don't like the hit boxes, you don't like making sure the forums stay on topic. i think you should take a step back. if they wish to move the my 8 basement hook challenge didn't get progress from discussion (general) to bug fixes that's what they are there to do! lol it's all a conspiracy to you, you might want to check that attitude at the door and step back because you are never thinking properly when talking about conspiracies! (and so you know saying they sweep it under the rug is a conspiracy, please move on then).

rank 20 equals at first rank 14-20 survivors. if you wait a bit it might open it up to include 10 to 12 through 20 you weren't too far off the rank window in this case Also could be you were the one that matched them as they were waiting for a killer thus it opened up their window.

But that's not what they stated.

"This is what the Hit Validation Beta intends to fix: In situations where the Killer has a poor connection to the server, the server will step in and evaluate their hits to make sure that they are fair."

I have a 100% estimation of BAD CONNECTION to the server, their words. None of the hits I make are fair.

    Hit Validation does not exist.

you did not read my response. what the hit validation does is compare positions when the hit was calculated. if your position is in an area where that hit should never have happened when the game says you were hit (server side) then it does not down you and the killer does not see the hit. this happens in nanoseconds so you can't say when the decision is made. I said that it looks to see if the hit would have been there and they have had issues with hit validation and ranged weapons (deathslinger AND huntress as well as ONI now) so there is a great deal of things happening and you said the key term "BETA" this means it is not complete and may not be 100% accurate well less accurate than it will be with no beta.

i'd have to relook at overcharge, but there are a few other factors to consider too and that is the perk technician which was changed about 1-2 months ago, it's now a 100% no sound/explosion and no alert for killer but a miss now takes more out of the gen than a miss without it. so that may be why you see more of a drop? just a thought

I'll ask the above question since he hasn't answered it.

    Yes or no.

If I live in Los Angeles, and I'm paired up with 4 survivors from Norway, their location, I should not get as many hits as I should because my connection is running on about 250 Ping, correct? I'm on Norway servers, from Los Angeles. Oui ou non?

no you never asked this question and the answer is POSSIBLY. it is not an exact science, as it could be that you are seeing something that the server already knows to be out of date (several milliseconds old) and thus you can't get the hit, could also be you have the worst aim ever (I know I am craptastic with her hatchets but sometimes i'm on target)! lots of potential questions in your thoughts here but it all depends on where you are connected, forinstance if your ping is 30ms (snapshot as ping never stays the same from millisecond to millisecond) and theirs is 250, more than likely they are going to perceive you getting hits that you should never have but revers it and it might end up being that you get no hits. your assertion doesn't take into account the reality of computer communication and how the internet really works.

matchmaking is still bs as ever. Only getting matched with teams is bs. And its extremely obvious that they are in a team and using comms to coordinate.

Now they have found a new way to glitch the system. They are using new rank(probably new accounts) to team up with their low rank buddies and get matched with killers of their low ranks. Example: a rank 18/19 should never be ranked with rank 4-10. But now with just one rank 18 in their group, they get ranked with a rank 18 killer. Then they use their unlocked and tier 3 perks to bully new killers. Rank 18 feng (prestige shirt) with DH purple , SC purple, lithe purple and prove thyself purple. Its completely absurd to say they were taking a break for a couple of months and their rank dropped when i see them in my lobbies pretty often since im an avid player of both roles.Yea thats totally believable. .

This has happened to me several times lately and I have noticed there's always at least 1 rank similar to my rank(brown) and the rest.of them are red, green and purple. This is abusing a system glitch and needs to be dealt with. My stake in this game is becoming less and less with this BS, id rather enjoy and spend my money on a different game

.Like seriously, you suck at going against killers your rank so now this is the level you're stooping to? Its pretty pathetic.

Devs- you need to be aware and handle this. It's should be against rules since its literally manipulating your precious system so they can get matched with very new killers and make a killing.

Im probably just gonna report every player who I see abusing this because its sheer BS.

so you can not bring a new player into the game and throw them to the wolves? it is just as likely that they get a killer that is way above their rank (the low ranked survivor) as it is that they get a low ranked killer. first of all: the current match making is average of the group plus or minus 6 so if you have the following: 20, 20, 1, 1 that's 42/4 which is approximately 10 just above it actually so the game tries to find a killer from rank 4 to rank 16 (10-6= 4 and 10+6= 16). now if the group is waiting for a while or YOU are waiting for a while it will (as described by the devs) start opening that window up, so that 4 to 16 could become 1 to 20 easily. What we do not know and probably will never know is

    1) how long before the game starts opening that window up (remember the survivors might be waiting a while thus your rank 17 killer could easily been the next in line.

    2) if the match making is actually looking for anything by looking at individual ranks to add the killer in. so in the above options without opening things up and it looks at each rank individually it could easily be rank 1 to 20 (possibly not even ranks 8 to 13 due to the range)

    3) you are not in possession of all the facts, you can not blame anyone for this without those facts and by doing so you make your point pure speculation and thus most people will disregard your conclusions.

My video is uploading, I just had a Huntress match and you'll see in the video as well that the hits should not have been in contact with the survivor. You'll see from my perspective that the hit should not have landed.

I was the Huntress. 52 minutes left. I'm actually going to provide proof that Hit Validation does not exist.

Do you want to understand why you are wrong? here:

from your point of view, you are around the corner but from the killer's computer you have yet to round it OR part of your hitbox is still not around the corner, the killer's client transmits a LEGAL hit to the server and then the server compares your position to the hit and determines you WERE in that position when the killer threw and the game calculated the hit. you go down even around the corner. it is simple as that. the servers have the data from the whole game and can look at time codes and see the data and blamo you get hit or you are absolved and not dead. but once the server determines you were down you go down no matter WHERE you are (you could be all the way across the map and if the time codes where you were when the killer's computer say you get hit then you are DOWN.

Simple as that, your perspective is not what rules the game, nor is the killer's however the killer's client does send the hit notification to the server. Your client has no part in this other than reporting your location during that chase. this is why you are wrong and will always be wrong, it WAS worse in the point to point because the killer's internet did not always have the right stability and caused issues because of latency and many other things.

So you're saying Survivors are all bums and doing gens isn't needed in this game.

no but it is one possible thing that can happen, someone who doesn't do anything gets out because of a key and hiding.

  • No you are wrong, the killers are milliseconds behind the survivors visually as it takes how ever long to transmit from the survivor's computer to the server then to the killer's computer. usually 60+ milliseconds I've guessed at times. This is why the killers get hits off at times the survivor thinks they are safe and shouldn't be hit. same in the other direction too, so lots of possibilities and it's not the hit boxes that are at issue for this.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1822661#Comment_1822661

Because that’s all they needed. Keys and Moris have to completely different requirements. Keys you have to work for. Moris you hook someone once you find them again and you can remove them from the game. Keys you have either be the last survivor or have to get all gens done. Keys need a lot more work which devs and mods have stated several times and people just outright refuse to wrap their heads around it. It wasn’t a lazy change it was the only change they needed plain and simple.

it was a lazy change and here is why:

mori = removing survivor from game that means 3 survivors left, only need 4 gens to be completed now mori a second now only 3 gens have to be done so the key now only requires minimal effort and this is usually done before the killer can truly pressure the survivors and suddenly all they have to do is find that hatch with the key they brought in. once found two get out and the killer can do nothing to stop it. at minimum one gets out because killer is right there to close the hatch but more than likely the killer is not there and two get out easy peasy and they might not even be the ones that did the work to get 3 gens complete.

1 … 9 10 11 12 13 … 33
