If they aim to get a Rift Tier everyday for the entire time the Rift is open without spending any money. Then maybe.
I mean, you have 57 days now to get 60 tiers... it took most players that were eager to finish Part 1 of Tome l like... 3 to 4 days at most?
For someone casually doing the challenges... that's like a week + a day at most... or less...
Part 2 won't release until November 13th... and in that time if you've played regular matches than you're around Tier 30 already from all the challenges and just leveling up...
People have WAY MORE than enough time.
-
It's about the same as if you run say... Monitor and Abuse on Hag.
If you use Furtive Chase on a base 32 Terror Radius Killer... than 4 stacks of Furtive Chase will give you the equivalent of The Hag using Monitor and Abuse.
Both would have 16 Terror Radius at their max... so that means The Trapper with 4 stacks of Furtive Chase would have a Terror Radius of 16, instead of 32... The Hag with Monitor and Abuse would have a Terror Radius of 16 as well instead of 24 with M&A Tier lll (Not in chases of course.)
So, it would look something like this... or I mean "sound"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YE417VBc3oUSkip to 3:14 and end at 3:22, that's basically how the Terror Radius is against Monitor and Abuse Hag... or 4 full stack Trapper.
All credit goes to the youtuber of course, i'm just using their video as an example.
-
It depends, if a casual player plays say... only 4, 3, 2 hours a day... and with how simple a fair bit of the challenges are... than they theoretically could complete the entire Rift with both Tome l Pt.1 and Tome l Pt.2.
But, it really depends how difficult Tome l Pt.2 will be... we don't know until November 13th so I can't say this is 100%...
During one of the live streams (I don't remember which one) I remember them or someone specifically saying that The Rift rewards consistent and dedicated players... It's not supposed to reward casual players that only do them for 30 minutes...
That was kind of one of the points they had... that it would reward anyone who wanted to put the time into it.
You can debate that this is a terrible design choice yourself, but if you think about it through like... common sense... you can see that not everything in this game has to be handed to us you know... The Rift rewards consistency... if you're not consistent with the challenges than you won't get fully rewarded...
But... that's also why each Rift lasts literally 2 months+... so there isn't really an excuse to not completing it if you play rather casually. If you play like... semi-casually or barely at all than you'll obviously not get the full rewards... since you hardly play the game in-general.
note
We've only just completed Part 1 of Tome l... Part 2 won't release until November 13th (The same day the event ends) and the serums won't stop being collectible until like... 57 days... Anyone who wants them has 100% enough time... seriously...
-
They can't host... Survivors and Killers now queue up to an open lobby that's empty for both sides to fill.
It doesn't work off of the Killer hosting the lobby anymore... nor does it work off of their connection either anymore... it goes off of your personal connection to BHVRs Dedicated Servers.
-
No, you can't reduce it i'm afraid.
It's like Huntresses Lullaby as well where it's not actually a Terror Radius... but an extension of their Terror Radius that doesn't apply to the same rules like normal Terror Radius's do.
Even with a full stack of Furtive Chase and Monitor and Abuse... it'll only change the Terror Radius and not the Lullaby. You can still fool Survivors into thinking you're far away because of this though.
-
It's unknown if they'll be re-purposed for next year, they might just end with this Halloween Event and be changed for another... who knows...
But, as per standard, they become inactive and will be unusable. If they make a resurgence it'll be possible under a different concept for the Halloween event... but who knows.

Thanks! I didn't realize there was still so much time left.
Yeah it was a decently long event, it was originally going to end sooner since the schedule for it was a week or two before Haloween... but because of the delay it wasnt released until October 30th, so that's why it's still going on.
It's the same amount of time we would've gotten if the delay didn't happen... it was just set for a later date which ends long after Halloween ended.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vd_3JmDoKNc. Reminds me why I used to play Tapp, this video is ridiculously relevant.
The memes are the best part about the stereotypes.
The worst part is the random toxicity against random players... they play Survivors that they like... but some Killers dislike them BECAUSE of those stereotypes or past experiences...

If they mean DBD, the post can stay here.
I might just be blind and mis-read the post so idk. If so, than sorry for bothering you Rizzo.
@Unlucky13 if you mean Dead by Daylight than its a lot different than what you said you're used to.
DBD is a asymmetrical 1 v 4 horror game that pins the Killer against 4 Survivors...
As one of the 4 Survivors, you go around repairing generators to power the exit gates and escape the trial! Every match has 5 generators that need to be repaired... you can bring items into the match to help repair generators or aid in your chases against the killer!
As the Killer, your goal is to kill all 4 Survivors by sacrificing them to "The Entity." You must go around the map and locate and chase Survivors... by doing so, you down them after hitting them twice and than pick them up to bring them to a hook! After hooking a survivor, they can be rescued by the other survivors.
Note, each Survivor has 2 chances to stay alive once hooked... after they get hooked a 3rd time, they die, and are sacrificed to the entity.
Thats basically it...
Personally I have 1.4k Hours into this game, and while it can get repetitive at times... its quite enjoyable to play! It's up to you to decide if you want to try it out, if you do, you'll have a plethera of characters to choose from and play as!
Check some videos out on twitch or youtube to see how the game works... it'll help you determine the choice for yourself. Good luck!

let ye with diversion active first yeet the first pebble. My issue with survivors and killers on a whole is that they don't play the game with a ritualistic fair mindset. When you get into a dozen farming matches you realize how this game could be played, but people are too focused on generators and hooks which is the real evil of the Entity. Rank is arbitrary, the grind is pointless, and players don't play to have fun. It seems more likely this game is intended as a personality social experiment than an actual game at times.
Again, regardless of how we view it... it's still wrong to attack people for specifically playing Survivors they don't like. That was kind of the main point of this post.
Tbh, I'm past this post anyways... I'm only responding because someone necro'ed it for some reason...

What game? This sub-forum is to specifically talk about DBD related issues and questions...
If you'd like to ask this in the proper sub-forum... than the off-topic sub-forum is where you'd ask this question.

@Rizzo90 I believe this sub-forum is only for DBD related questions (I could be wrong.) As such, idk if you want to move it... so I'll just leave this @ here if you think it should be or not.

Stereotypes are pretty real in this game, I find Dwight in lockers, Nea's on ledges, Claudette's in bushes, Jake near birbs and hooks, Feng going YEET, and I'm a Meghead just running around the map.
Of course they're real... but you shouldn't identify every Survivor by those same standards.
It's one thing to meme it, it's another to target people directly for using Survivors that associate with that specific stereotype.

Na we stayed in the game.
But something I did forget to mention, after my friend finished the gen, he had the "bright" idea of going straight to the Leatherface for no reason and he got down, so I resorted to attempt to use head on but that didn't work since I previously used on him and he had learned.
Regardless he didn't move from the spot until you did the generator... and if you didn't.... its LF.... he'll down you because that room has nothing to help you with EXCEPT the lockers... but... that didn't work out...

yeah, but was that before or after the nerf?
i too remember a lot of complaints about their new vaulting speed, though i dont exactly remember any for the old one...
Before the nerf.
A fair bit of people hated how fast he could vault over pallets and windows... it was mostly because it combined with the other thing people hated... that his FF attacks (when missed) didn't stop Feral Frenzy.
That's where the argument that he had "no counter" when getting hit by him came into play...

I've never actually read/heard of anyone being punished for DCing.
I mean, I don't know anyone who wants to actively say they've been banned for DCing too many times...
Even if they do, they don't exactly talk about it anywhere since... why would you? It's not gonna do anything to help your case.
-
From the looks of it, the only increase that's notable is 4 Tokens of Fired Up! + Bamboozle or 5 Tokens of Fired Up! + Bamboozle...
I'm still counting 2 seconds ish for both though... but you can see that it slightly increases the time by like... what... 0.2 seconds or something?
Which isn't worth having two slots for... and it's especially not worth it if it only gives you that increases around the end of the match...
If you want to get technical... it looks like it gives an increase? But it's so small that it's hard to even notice... or my minds playing tricks on me and there is no change at all... because again... it's hard to even notice.
-
I wouldn't bother interacting with DCers since it'll just end up with them trolling you in the DMs...
Their system already punishes people who do this in excess... doing it once won't get you banned or anything... if he does it every game than he'll eventually meet the criteria for a ban.
With Dedicated Servers, BHVR will be able to monitor DCing a lot better now... and Suicide by hooks as well... since it's basically the same thing in some regards.
If they wanted to add anything to this... they could idk... give a cool-down for each time you DC. The first has no cool-down, the 2nd gives 3 minutes before you can queue another match, than it gradually increases that time until you meet the criteria for a ban.

K, it was mainly you saying that "If he moved after the gen was powered then it wasn't" that confused me in this case.

I can see that was kind of vague my bad.

It was mainly from the phrase "As long as the game can progress". If the survivors don't do the generator the game can still progress technically, keeping the Leatherface from being reportable. Since you said "If he moved after the last gen was completed he would not be holding the game hostage".
That said, if the survivors didn't do the gen and didn't leave that room(they couldn't), they could technically be counted as doing the same thing some survivors do to troll killers in games, like hiding all game without doing gens.
If you're trapped in the say... isolation room in Hawkins with another Survivor... and your only option is to DC, sit there for hours, or do the generator and die? What would you do?
It doesn't matter if the room was a 2x2 closet or made up of 4 rooms with one exit... he still blocked the exit and refused to move to trap them both in one spot...
If they didn't do the generators in say... the Hawkins room... than they'd still be trapped there... If they did... than the Killer probably has NOED and would down them both like with the upstairs Thompson House incident here... REGARDLESS!!! He still didn't move from the spot and trapped them both in that room so he could guarantee a down.
Basically, here's how this goes down so everything is cleared up. If they did the generator and activated his NOED (He might not even had NOED) than he's still blocking the exit and literally holding the game hostage to down them both...
I said "If he moved it wouldn't be doing it anymore..." should've been more specific... If he moved from that spot and chased one person regularly while moving from the exit for one to escape than technically... TECHNICALLY... he let them do one generator and boned himself...
That's kind of the only scenario that it would exhume the behavior... but I might be 100% wrong with that statement and he could still be reportable for not moving from the spot in-general... for that period of time...
He still technically trapped them in the upstairs regardless if they did the generator or not... so he's still holding the game hostage by doing so.

Dude, it's 100% ping related lmao the only way this can happen is if there is something wrong with latency.
I've played with Green ping as Survivor and Killer... both times I've done this as a Killer and both times I've been hit by this as a Survivor...
It's the lunge hit-box that also plays a role in this... not just latency or ping... if it was exclusively ping and latency than my ping would be 800 and I wouldn't be talking about this at all...
A Killer ping is tied to Dedicated Servers now... and so is the Survivors ping... regardless if they're both green this can still happen...
Like I said, ping is misleading and it can say it's green but actually be yellow or red in some instances of the match... If it's green the entire game you can still be hit by the lunge behind the pallet.
In the first instance of the video this seems to be the case, as well as the 2nd. Notice in the first the hit was a fast swing and afterwards there was a small big of lag you can see when he got hit...
The hit was abnormal in the first, and in the 2nd it was also caused by a big of latency...
So for that, we can say that Hag was either lagging or her ping was just terrible... If it wasn't than we have no idea if that was the case or not...
My point is, latency, ping, etc, isn't the only things that can cause this.

Yeah the description is bad. But for example the exit gate opening speed is particularly important and has came clutch for me in 1v1 EGC scenarios where I'm 1 second from death (SC saves 1.2 seconds on the exit gate).
The in game action speed indicator is not messed up so you can see for yourself that it will turn yellow when the Killer looks at you. This is how I know it works on Mending which isn't even listed on the wiki.
Yeah, but it's still misleading if it's not listed in the description above. If it was, this question wouldn't have been asked... so...
-
What're you even talking about...
How would the Survivors hold the game hostage if they can't escape from the upstairs of the Thompson house in-general?
It doesn't matter if they did the generator or not... it was LF... he can down both of them if they're close enough...
The reason I said the game is "progressing" is because they're doing a generator which is their main objective... in a sense, they're progressing the match by completing it and power the exit gates... regardless... they still CAN'T escape the house because the Killer is blocking the only exit... So it's still holding the game hostage since LF is refusing to move from the exit until he downs them both...
It's unknown if he even had NOED, it doesn't even matter if he did or not... if he chainsaws one of them at the exit than the other one is as good as dead... There is no loops up there, and the only window leads to a dead end...
In a sense, he trapped them both in an unwinnable situation and by doing so he's holding the game hostage to get what he wants... Regardless if he wanted to kill them both or not, he still blocked their own exit of escape or moving from that spot... the same goes for if you block someone in a corner as the Killer and went to go order some take out... You're still trapping them in a spot that they can't move from UNLESS they DC or the Killer downs them somehow...
Regardless if you're taking 10 minutes or 5 hours to down someone... you're still trapping BOTH or the last Survivor in a room they can't escape from... regardless if they did the generator or not they couldn't escape.
-
It doesn't say anywhere in the description that it increases "Action Speed."
Yet, below that on DBD Wiki it says it increases that entire list of Action Speed categories... So the perk should display that in the description that it increases "Action Speeds" as well...
It wasn't really possible for me to answer this question correctly than... if I wasn't aware of those "hidden features" that're not listed...
So, @ArcticRage apparently it does increase vaulting speed.

In this case it was a Leatherface though. There's no way he could NOT get both survivors if he didn't move. Also in this case, if the survivors didn't do the generator what would have happened? Would THEY have been reportable for "holding the game hostage" when actually the Leatherface was?
I think you're missing the point, if he didn't move regardless than he's holding the game hostage by refusing to move so he can down them both...
If you keep someone in a small room... or in this case... a room with one exit that you're blocking with your body, THAN it's holding the game hostage. If he were to move from that spot and not resume blocking it after you gets got the generator done... than that's HIS loss and nobody elses...
From what i'm understanding here... he didn't move from that spot so he could get both him and his friend downed... so yes, he was holding the game hostage since he refused to move from that spot until he downed them both... Which... that could've taken hours if they both didn't get close enough...
It's one thing to block the stairway to get someone downed... it's another to keep multiple people upstairs and refusing to move until he downed both of them...
note
This is all speculation and opinions, we judge what he did with our own opinions, but the rules could say otherwise... or the specifications of how to break that rule wasn't met here...
I'm giving my honest 100% opinion on the issue through facts and common sense... for all we know, he could be fine to do that... but if you look at it from another way... that clearly isn't the case.
-
It's still being worked on, an official date hasn't been said yet though. (At least, I couldn't find one through the forums or google.)
We'll just have to wait on that i'm afraid...
-
@SunderMun said:

It was able, but it was rare. A green ping game would never allow it to happen, whereas now it happens almost every game, multiple times a game; as I said, the servers exacerbated it; I didn't say they caused it.
And I can also confirm that the 1st vs 3rd person view argument is false, given just how much I play both roles.
I've had some green ping games where it happened regardless...
Ping is misleading and it's subject to change depending on the users internet... it could say it's green but spike to red in an instant...
And it's not even ping that causes this... it can just be because of the lunges range in-general.
-
Yes, you can. It'll last for 59 days as Avocet said. In 59 days that specific Rift will close and you'll have 2 weeks after to spend your serums wisely!
-
Apparently the perk does increase Action Speeds (Except for the Dying State recovery Speed.)
So yes... it does increase vaulting... but it doesn't list that in the description for some reason.

It was only my friend and I both left in the game, and we were both trapped in the house, and even though my friend did finish the gen, the killer had NOED so we were dead regardless of what happened.
So... you DC'ed before that end result could be met or?
Cause i'm not following with what you're telling me...
-
It's intended, this happens a lot with adrenaline.
Adrenaline doesn't stop the downing animation... as if it did that would be... a bit too OP personally. I see you're in discord so... I assume your friend popped the gen? If so, he should've waited until a good second before popping the generator...
If he did, you could've actually escaped... possible...

I almost forgot to answer this before I got off...
I did a test in KYFs with Bamboozle and without...
It takes 2 seconds-(Ish) without bamboozle and the same goes for with Bamboozle... So no, it doesn't increase the vault speed in Feral Frenzy... I'm pretty sure they made it that way so people wouldn't get angry about the vault speed again... (Since that's one of the things people hated about Pre-Nerf Legion.)
Imagine Bamboozle + Pre-nerf Legion vaulting... jeez...

I'm trying to visualize this, so someone comes in from the top left and I'm behind them but not close enough yet and they go for the window, I'm guessing I go through the window too and follow them back to the door. From here I'm assuming I follow them and peak into the shack to see if they're looking behind them, if they aren't I moonwalk back outside towards the window to get a hit. If they are looking behind them, I keep chasing? From there maybe they'll go through the window again as I've had happen, and I guess I keep following them?
My first instinct if they're looking behind them is to fake them out by making them think I'm stupid and moonwalk back out of the room as if I'm going towards the window from outside but then moonwalk back through the door to catch them off guard. Might not work as that's pretty silly, a lot of the mindgames I try just don't work lol
One thing I notice I have a problem with at the shack is when they don't do the window loop but the much longer loop on the other side. Now I know for a fact it's longer so I should get a hit but what happens is that when they take that longer loop it is always when I am further behind them when I should be which guarantees I don't catch up fast enough to get the hit despite the length of the loop. At that point I just don't know what to do, I guess force them to take the window?
You don't have to follow them through the window, you can do this right at the beginning of the first loop at the window...
As long as you see them and know they'll vault it than you'll be fine... you don't need to stand there and watch them, you just need a small glance at them if they're looking behind them or not.
Mind-games in-general are a gamble and this one is the most effective one at the shack... since it's a 50/50 if they'll get hit or not because of this mind-game... some Survivors know about this and will easily double back through the window or fake the vault... so that's why you anticipate it through subtle "Body language"
You can mix it up if you want! That's the best thing about experimenting with mind-games... its to find out what works best on most if not all Survivors.
Also
In regards to the longer loop... regardless of what side you take they'll most likely attempt a vault at the end of the loop... knowing this will help you mind-game it with those tips on either side... and you can hit them as a result...
You don't need to do it on the pallet door side since that side is fairly short towards the window... and you can just double back or make them fake it out and than you can just hit them inside the shack or around the corner outside...
Don't lunge at the window if they're outside... they won't have the chance to mid-vault it fast enough to avoid it... since the shack window for some reason has the worst hitbox when you swing at it...
