Even though I hate the perk I feel like it should give undetectable status effect since you wanna make sure the survivors don't see whats coming

Than Kindred can't counter the hard basement camping...

    Some examples like the below:

    • While in a Chase, you can unlock your stealth ability. When a Survivor loses sight of you, your Terror Radius drops to 0 meters for X/Y/Z seconds
    • While in a Chase, you Terror Radius decreases over time by 2/4/6 metres per second until it hits 0, you hit the Survivor or you interact with something
    • While in a Chase, you can unlock your stealth ability. When a Survivor loses sight of you, your Terror Radius remains in the location you were last saw for X/Y/Z seconds

Keep the stealth concept, just rework how it triggers and functions.

I like the 3rd, the 1st is a bit too ambitious and the "look at me" concept is hard enough... especially since GhostFaces power has a hard time with it as well...

It could work amazingly or be a buggy mess that won't respond well.

The 2nd would make Myers way too strong, and Killers like Hag or others with 24 or lower Terror Radius'es would just become stealth killers. While that concept is cool yes, it could pose an issue... Maybe have the Terror Radius decrease to 0 within 60/50/40 seconds of the chase? Something like that.

  • @kcwolf1975 said:

I don't mind it, definitely not op so why nerf it? Makes for a different gameplay style which is refreshing every now and then. Also if tome level 4 ends up having sacrifice 4 survivors in the basement then you better believe basement bubba will be making a comeback!

That isn't the point though, the point is that it promotes a very dull and boring playstyle.

I don't know if you find camping a basement and having no way of getting the unhooked Survivor fun... but I don't. And it especially isn't fun for the hooked Survivor.

  • @ChiTenshi said:

Insidious is a perk designed to catch Survivors off-guard, provide Killers an opportunity to be sneaky (with varying degrees of success). I think the same goal should be sought rather than turning the perk on it's head.

I think the best way to approach this is to look at a perk that achieves a similar goal, Dark Devotion. Whilst it is a mid-tier perk, it achieves it's goal and provides Killers the potential to sneak up on Survivors by using mind-game mechanics. It's power requires certain triggers and has several restrictions, but it's function is fun and can be sensibly built around.

If we look to incorporate something similar to Insidious, make it more flexible to use (possibly in a chase) but with limits/restrictions (duration, who it effects, etc), players can achieve their goal of surprising Survivors without the match devolving into stagnant play-styles.

A rework could work, but this could also work and won't require an overhaul to the perk.

The question is, what would that change be? Giving it restrictions and such is nice... but restricting a perk that requires you to stand still is a feat that isn't... the easiest to achieve... especially on a perk that's already considered to be in the niche to Low-Tier category.

But I love scaring the crap out of survivors when they return to a gen.

That's what Myers or GhostFace or Pig or Demogorgon... you get the idea...

You can still do that through other means is what I mean! the issue is though, you rarely see this perk be used outside of malicious camping and tunneling though... and the practicality outside of a meme build is kind of... not there with this perk.

  • @Brady

Also, I looked through like every stream and skimmed through it to find info on that specifically... and I couldn't really find anything about the skins exclusivity within The Rift or if they're released later on.

I did find this bit of info though.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_fWpF83JEE&t=195s

Skip to 37:19 and end at 38:00.

I don't remember them saying this but, apparently charms are exclusive to The Archives for now. It could also be in the store in the future, but that isn't official so it might never be there as well. No, not those charms that were in old rifts, what I mean is they could have random charms to buy in the future in the store... like the uncommon and common ones. But this isn't a fact, this is speculation.

Again, I don't work for BHVR so I can't 100% give you an answer if I can't find the quote. I can't also find hidden meanings in what Peanits, or what anyone from BHVR says as well... since there is no hidden meaning to what they're saying lol.

If they don't specifically say it, than it's unknown. I can't find exactly where they said this, and I could be wrong with it in-general and I misheard or thought someone else said something, I don't know. What I do know is, some things in The Rift will not be exclusive, and whether that's the skins, some of the charms (not all), etc... is unknown unless maybe Peanits clears things up.

So... take what I say with a grain of salt.

  • @Brady

So, I looked through The Archives trailer and the 3rd Year Anniversary live stream and skipped to the parts about rewards and "exclusive rewards: and such. Unless I missed something I couldn't find any info on exclusives in-general, it's just that rewards are not Pay To Win, the Rift will close off the rewards when it ends, bla bla bla.

But, I did find a quote from Peanits on the subject.

    @Witas said:

To be honest, Im pretty dissapointed by this. I understand being "fair" towards players who did not buy the battle pass, but I think that the dedicated players deserve SOMETHING more than casuals. I may be entitled or whatever, but that's what makes the Battle Passes so tempting and satisfying in other games, the feeling of getting something other people won't have. Atleast for me ... What do you think ?

    Peanits:

"Some of the rewards will stay exclusive, others will be available in the store later on. Exclusive stuff always comes at the cost of leaving out anyone who wasn't there at the time, so we try not to do too much exclusive stuff. You'll get way more value out of earning them through The Rift than you would by buying them individually, though, and that's without even considering that you can make your cells back."

While this doesn't talk about the skins, they have said in the past that they will no longer release exclusive skins to DBD, and or, it's not on their radar at the moment or in the near future.

So, knowing that exclusive skins will most likely never return to DBD... we can deduce that what they mean is the skins on The Rift not being exclusive. I can't find EXACTLY where they said it was the skins that're not exclusive since it's buried under live streams and what not... so take what I said with a grain of salt.

They've said also, that the charms in The Rift are exclusive to The Rift. So we won't see them in the store any time soon or at all. So by knowing this, we can basically say it's the skins that're not exclusive... and it's only the charms that're exclusive (Some of them at least, I don't think all of them all but i'm not 100% on that.)

If you want an official statement, I can @Gcarrara and @Peanits to see if they can respond to it. They could be very busy though, so I can't promise anything.

  • I'll have to dig through where I exactly heard this, it could take awhile. I don't remember if it was on the 3rd year anniversary thing, or a post or something.

  • @Konomaru

You blind by flashing the light in their eyes, not their body, not the pallet, their eyes. With some Killers like Demogorgon that have no eyes... you'd still flash the light at their face to blind them.

So if you want to know where to aim, you aim at their eyes, aka their face.

You need to blind them fully, not slightly or whatever, it needs to be a full complete blind to count.

  • @RepliCant said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/833621#Comment_833621

I thought the cosmetics in The Rift were exclusive and NOT coming to the store? Hence being in The Rift.

Nope, they'll be coming to the store soon after that Rift closes. The Charms are the exclusive part to each Rift.

That's kind of the only Exclusive thing from The Rift and The Archives... it's The Rift charms and that's it. The Archive charms are not Exclusive, they're just a sign of each tome and tome part completion.

  • @Gravnos

For 1, from what i'm seeing of the new challenges they're not... and it's just random, but you probably already know that by now.

They most likely would have their lore pages with those specific Trapper/Claudette pages (Aka any page from the lore bit in those character specific challenges) but it seems to be that the lore pages can be achieved on any challenge... so that's debatable. But it's most likely since, why wouldn't you have their specific lore pages for their own specific challenges?

It would be weird if Trapper had a lore page from Claudettes story, or vise versa.

And for 2, that's for when The Rift ends, not the Archives itself. This tome will still exist for players to complete whenever they feel like it... that "55 days left" only applies to The Rift, which is what you spend your rewards from The Archives on.

The Rift gives unique and ever changing rewards, and is reset every so often (Roughly 2 months+) to keep the rewards fresh! When that specific Rift ends, the rewards are gone for good! (Except the skins, they're released a few weeks after that Rift on the store, the Charms however are not and they're exclusive to that Rift only.)

  • @smallfry05

It's either a visual bug or Rank Reset didn't register your new ranks for some reason... which means it's either delayed or bugged. Play a game or two (If you haven't already) and see if it changes or not, it could just be delayed and needed to catch up a bit...

If it's still at the same rank you were last season and you want your rank to be set to the proper rank it's supposed to be, than please contact support through the link below and submit a ticket.

  • @Gravnos

You can try a stealth build that focuses on working around the Killer and avoiding them...

You'd either use Urban Evasion (Or Fixated), Balanced Landing (Or Sprint Burst), Self Heal, (Or bring a med-kit), and Quick and Quiet.

Or, you can try a "Houdini" build that focuses on losing the Killer in a chase. That build is Lithe (A Feng Min perk), Dance With Me (A Kate Denson perk), Quick and Quiet (A Meg perk), And Head On (a Jane Romero perk.) Use a Med-Kit with this build as well... since unlike the stealth build, you won't be able to heal yourself since you don't have Self heal. You'll either need other Survivors to help you, or you heal yourself with a med-kit.

The stealth build, like I said... works on avoiding the Killer at all costs and playing "immersed." The Houdini Build focuses on playing normally, but in a pinch you can use it to vault a window and run far away leaving no Scratch marks thanks to "Dance with me." Quick and Quiet is to hide in a locker soon after, and Head On is a last resort to stun them if they were to find you.

  • @HatCreature

Sadly no, it doesn't work like that. Unless they hit the threshold for the DC ban limit than they won't be banned for DCing once or twice, despite admitting it.

You can however report them for "Unsportsmanlike conduct" since they're admitting to DCing and most likely making fun of you afterwards or just in-general refusing to play in the match. It's considering "Rage Quitting" which is one of the things you can report for in the "Unsportsmanlike conduct" options list.

  • @Vegan11MonthsSoFar

No, it's not intended to work on Tier l Myers. It says so in the patch notes themselves that it does not work on Killers with the undetectable status effect anymore... Which Tier l Myers has!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/99318/

A quote from the patch notes themselves.

"Updated certain Killer powers with the Undetectable status effect: The Shape in Tier I of Evil Within, The Pig while in crouch mode, The Wraith while Cloaked, The Ghost Face while in Night Shroud."

That's a quote from the change, for those patch notes. It doesn't say anywhere that aura reading perks work on the status effect or not (Or I couldn't find it) but in another post you can see that they do.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/82749/designer-notes-new-status-effects-and-bloodweb-changes

Here's a quote from the new additions that this status effect gives.

"When a Killer is Undetectable, the following effects are applied:

    • The Killer’s terror radius is removed.
    • The Killer’s red stain is removed.
    • The Killer will not have their aura revealed.
    • The Killer does not trigger the jumpscare sound effect.
    • The Killer sees the smoky screen visual effect."

You can see in this quote for the 2nd post that "The Killer will not have their aura revealed." This means that OoO, Alert!, any aura reading perk during that status effects activation will not reveal the Killer with said effect!

This means that OoO working on Tier l Myers is not an intended thing by the developers! You don't need a quote from anyone saying it or not because it literally says it in the patch and design notes...

  • @Supdog123

    This question is quite vague...

If you mean on the forums than no, there isn't a set custom font outside of a few size differences and what not.

If you mean for post chat than no, there is no option for that. If you mean for the descriptions of Killers, Survivors, etc... than no there isn't a way to change those without editing the files.

In-general, there is no "custom font" options to use within anything on the forums or in-game, and if you were to edit the game files to add it in, than you'd risk being banned through EAC.

EAC would consider what you're doing as "cheating." This is the same for people who change their in-game Killer/Survivor portraits to something else. BHVR has said before that they won't take action against it, but they advice you to use it and I quote "At your own risk."

They say this because EAC doesn't work in BHVRs jurisdiction, EAC operates within its own set of rules to what's cheating and what's not. If you're banned through EAC, than BHVR won't be able to do anything about it i'm afraid. You'll have to appeal the ban through EAC themselves.

While the risk is small when you're editing your game files to have different portraits or fonts... the risk is still there and you can still get EAC banned for it.

If you decide to go down this road, please do it at your own risk...

  • @deadbydaylightfan92

The official date isn't know yet, mainly because they're still working on integrating The Archives into the Switch version still...

They hit a road block with some issues that caused it to not really... work with the Switch version. So until they give us another update on that... than there is no date of time yet.

You'll just have to be patient i'm afraid.

  • @Doctor_Main

People didn't like how NOED used to be... where it would just activate and couldn't be turned off prematurely, so you'd have to survive the set amount of time or you'd be just one shot.

Plus, if you add in the current meta of post-Buff NOED... it would be way worse.

Ruin in-general is a gamble that rewards the Killer if left alone for more than 1 minute, but a lot of players have learned to just blow through it... regardless if it's gone or not. The only benefit Ruin gives at Red Ranks now is not getting gen rushed due to Hex Skill Checks not counting as Great Skill Checks.

If it was to be a standard activation perk when the match starts like Corrupt Intervention, than people would argue for how much time it should be... a minute? 2 minutes? 30 seconds? 45 seconds? It just wouldn't work.

If Devour, Thrill, or Haunted Grounds were just a time activation perk... than they wouldn't work... especially since Devour relies on mid to end game results to be effective. Thrill would be useless if it had a time limit, and Haunted Grounds would just cause people to hide until the perks time limit ended... which would just make the games too long.

Third seal is already pretty useless, especially since it doesn't really work that well with any Killer (Except a few with scenario driven builds) and it SADLY doesn't work on Billy boxes for SOME REASON!!!

  • @HatCreature

Try this, For a standard M1 Killer build you'd use something like Ruin, Pop Goes, Brutal Strength, And BBQ.

    Ruin cause it's ruin...

Pop Goes because the 25% regression is too much to pass up, despite it being tier l

Brutal Strength to destroy a lot of pallets for strong loops and give yourself a lot of dead zones during the mid/end game.

And BBQ to gain more BPs to level up clown even more AND have a solid aura reading perk to know where people are at all times.

If you want to mix it up, try this unique build. Ruin, Infectious, Coulrophobia, and Nurses.

This build is unique and focuses on damage over hooking! Coulrophobia will slow any healing that's within your standard 32 meter Terror Radius, and Nurse's will detect any healing within 20 meters of your Killer! (It would be 24 but you only have tier l Nurse's.)

Ruin is to help aid in Clowns already terrible map pressure, and Infectious is to help detect anyone nearby when you down a Survivor, this will help you add even more healing pressure to the team!

If you had every perk at tier 3, you'd use this build

If you had all the perks unlocked, you'd use either Ruin, Pop Goes, Brutal Strength, and BBQ. OR, you could mix it up and use Enduring, Spirit Fury, BBQ, and either Ruin or Corrupt Intervention.

These builds are just bare bones M1 Killer builds, but they're the most effective on every M1 Killer... that, or they're some of the most effective builds to use on M1 Killers.

  • @chuckylover15

We don't have Chucky as a Killer due to his size... BHVR has said they don't intend to make a doll Killer, let alone a Killer that can't even reach the hooks to hook Survivors...

It might happen if we're really lucky, but... It's unlikely.

  • @EnderloganYT

    Pustula Meme.png

    How's that?

The perks kind of get in the way but you can crop around it.

  • @EnderloganYT

And you want an in-game image of the flower? Or will a picture of the charm which is basically the same thing will work?

Or a clean image of the flower itself?

So basically either the in-game flower, the charm, or just a regular picture of the flower from anywhere will do or?...

  • @UberSolus

You report them in-game during the post-game match (Aka, you use the report system when you're in post-game and report them there.)

After that, if you want to follow up with any details you can submit a ticket with proof (If you have any.)

Here's the support link if you have proof you want to share with the support team: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

When it comes to hackers or possible hackers, we don't discuss it here on the forums as it's considered "name shaming" if you were to release who it was that was breaking the rules. That's why you report it in-game and than submit a ticket if you have anymore proof or details.

  • @Dragontamer7884

It has something to do with the game not properly saving your progress... and as such a "Rank Update Error" occurs and you may be faced with lost progress as a result... or it just boots you off the game to the main menu with an older rank.

If you suffer from any lost progress than please use the support link I will be providing to recover that lost progress... if you face this issue very often but don't have any lost progress... than you should also submit a ticket so the support team can review the issue.

    Here's the support link: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

  • @LonlyGamerX

It works like this, as @SilentSpectre said, if it's a HWID Ban than it'll transfer to every new account you make on THAT PC, if they find out you're on other PC's than you'll be banned for Ban Evasion as well...

If it's a one time ban through EAC than no, it'll not transfer to any accounts that were made before or after that ban... it'll only be for THAT account you were banned on.

However, if you get banned again on 2 more separate accounts with the same IP and Hardware... than you'll be HWID banned. Each time you're banned you're given a strike on your Hardware, this is to keep track of rule breakers who have a history of breaking BHVRs game rules...

VAC bans are a different beast, it's Valves jurisdiction if you got banned through VAC. The thing is, DBD isn't a Valve game... so it's highly unlikely or even impossible that you'll be banned through Valves Anti-Cheat systems... or VAC for short. (This goes for DBD, if it's a Valve made game than VAC bans can happen.)

  • @EnderloganYT

Define "Pustula Flower" Do you mean the Visceral Cankers?

Or do you mean the flowers that are on the Visceral Cankers?

This is a common issue with console users at the moment.

Its funny because I’ve gotten a lot of people telling me their reasoning for a specific killer at a specific tier is because they’ve seen *insert streamer here* play them well. I personally have Ghostface over Myers simply for Myers having a slow start in early game. Yet.. they’re right by each other.

I suppose it's easier to just follow what someone says than make the assumption yourself...

Kind of narrow minded but to each their own I guess...

  • @Acesthetiic said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/826063#Comment_826063

People love to follow what a streamer says instead of coming up with their own views and opinions. It’s easier for them that way.

    :/

  • Now a days with 1.4k Hours, I play about 3 to 4 hours... if I have literally nothing to do than I play 4 to 5.

I used to play like 5 to 6 hours back than, but overtime I started to play a bit less more and more. If I have things to do in my day than I don't play at all sadly.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/826000#Comment_826000

That's a ridiculous assumption. I've been playing quite a bit and I'm only at tier 21. There may have been 2 or 3 days I didn't play, but there's no way I'd get 6 levels from that. It takes 2 games to get 1, and one game can last between 15-20 minutes. The only way I see people being that high is if they maximize their results by playing literally only as little as they need to a game.

A casual player, I would also assume, would play 1 hour a day. Casual isn't super dedicated to one game, and 3 hours of game time is a lot.

I played about 4-5 hours for a fair bit during the beginning, last I checked i'm at tier 27 and than I stopped playing for awhille... This was like days ago.

Tbh, it all depends on how long matches last, the challenges difficulty, etc.

  • I mean, removing and retiring them would still discontinue them so...

It really doesn't matter if they retired them or removed them (Which they did the latter.) From the info I could gather, the exact date is unknown unless you did through the patch notes... and hardly anyone cares that they were removed anyways.

  • @millennial_dwight

They were irrelevant when compared to the current map offerings, that's why they were removed. It also had something to do with "cluttering the Blood-Web" or something like that...

They were removed around Early 2018

Lol... so because a streamer said GhostFace was good he's automatically better than Myers?

That's like... narrow minded but ok.

  • Everyone writes Myers off as weaker than GhostFace... when they're quite equal.

  • @MissBehavingX said:

Then it should be fine for casual players like myself. I don't expect to finish all rift tiers, at all, even with the tomes. But that's OK. I still believe the grind is a bit more than other season passes out there

If you play casually for a few hours a day doing the challenges than you'll get there yes.

I can guarantee that. You don't even have to play every day to get there... since we literally have like 57 days left, and you might have more or less hours to play... it depends on your schedule.

  • @Ruminy said:

No, it takes more XP to level, but grants more Iridecent Shards. So basically you get more iridecent

I never wrote it off as impossible, please don't put words in my mouth ?

For a causal, 1 hour every few days player, yes, it is impossible. For someone who plays constantly, it is very possible. As I previously said. ?

You made it sound impossible so i'm just assuming.

Regardless, yes it's quite difficult for someone who has 1 hour every few days to play... the same can be said for if you do anything that involves a reward...

  • @MissBehavingX

Yes, they'll be available even after The serums are gone for purchase (With Auric cells.)

You can spend your Serums through the entire Rifts lifespan and even 2 weeks after The Rift closes.. the Event and The Rift play by their own time and dates... They're not linked... except for the concept of course.

  • @SilentSpectre said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/826007#Comment_826007

What they said in the stream and what's actually the case is not always the same ?

So a consistent player can't complete The Rift in say... 70 days (Which was the default time we were given...) really? They can't? *Thinking?Emoji?Intensifies*

You're telling me if you spend 2 to 3 hours on this game at max... and do say... an average of 3 to 4 challenges a day... and there is like 23 challenges in total on Tome l Pt.1... you honestly think they won't be able to finish that in a week?

If you do 3 challenges a day for 1 week that's 21 challenges in total... if you do 4 that's 28... On average most casual players will do 3 to 4 challenges a day... probably more and i'm underestimating it.

If you start from now with 57 days or at the start with 70... you should be able to easily get to Tier 60 with how the estimate goes...

Writing it off as impossible is quite... well... it isn't really reasonable.

  • @SilentSpectre said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/826000#Comment_826000

tier 30? maybe for people with no life. A normal person should be at like tier 17 or 18. Not everyone can play this game all day every day.

Plus, the tome is only gonna get harder

Yes, it'll get harder, but if you look at the main point of The Rift in-general... you can see why this is the case.

They said so themselves in a stream that The Rift rewards consistent players... not "no lifes" but players that consistently keep up with the challenges and play casually or more hardcore.

  • @SilentSpectre said:

No, it requires almost 3 hours a day to get all the rewards, which is unrealistic for normal people.

The serums aren't far behind in grindyness.

We have 57 days, if you've done Tome l part 1 and just played normally than you're probably already at tier 30 or 27...

That's casually btw, if you play like every hour of everyday than you're probably at tier 40 by now. If we have 57 days with a fresh new player, and part 1 tome l took people like 3-4 days to finish... 1 week for casuals max... than it can theoretically be done on time for 60 tiers...

  • @SilentSpectre

Dedicated Servers hasn't come there yet, I forgot.

But, when they do than what I said above would still stand...

So basically @EyeFearFoolie if you're on console than you're not experiencing what PC has right now. (Which is Dedicated Servers, or the test for it still... it's unknown if it's a test still since they haven't really said much on it since test 2...) Anyways, you're in an old system at the moment that relies on The Killers to host the lobbies and their ping must be good or decent to play normally...

There isn't a way to fix that since it's an old system... and you can't pair with specific Killers that have good ping... you'll just have to endure it until Dedicated Servers are fully released for PS4, Xbox, and maybe Switch... idk about Switch.
