These forums are killer main central. You'd never know it here, but you're completely right.

I mean, I don't know anyone who wants to actively say they've been banned for DCing too many times...
Even if they do, they don't exactly talk about it anywhere since... why would you? It's not gonna do anything to help your case.
But like, I've never heard of any DC punishments.
-
I agree that the pipe sound effect needs to be changed. It really takes me out of the killing spree.
-
Oh, are you on console? I assumed you were on PC, where if the killer leaves, the lobby stays open.
In that case, maybe wait till the last 10 seconds to equip items/addons.
-
Two words:
Franklin's Demise.
😁
-
Why stay in the lobby that long? Just leave and restart matchmaking.
-
Monitor/Ruin/BBQ/Enduring always works good for me.

I wouldn't bother interacting with DCers since it'll just end up with them trolling you in the DMs...
Their system already punishes people who do this in excess... doing it once won't get you banned or anything... if he does it every game than he'll eventually meet the criteria for a ban.
With Dedicated Servers, BHVR will be able to monitor DCing a lot better now... and Suicide by hooks as well... since it's basically the same thing in some regards.
If they wanted to add anything to this... they could idk... give a cool-down for each time you DC. The first has no cool-down, the 2nd gives 3 minutes before you can queue another match, than it gradually increases that time until you meet the criteria for a ban.
I've never actually read/heard of anyone being punished for DCing.

Spirit has a pretty low skill floor, but a really high skill ceiling. Try her out!
-
Mettle of Man is useless anyway, there's no point in running it over something like borrowed.
-
Speedo Quentin
-
On a related note, matchmaking seems to be fixed! (/s)
-
This list doesn't even have any of my top 5 killers. :/

There's probably 2 things I would change with Spirit's base.
- Make the phase audio louder (loud enough to not hear footsteps but still hear injured survivors)
- Give survivors a 'tell' that she is using her power (like an animation or something)
One of these would probably make her less frustrating for survivor players.
So... two of the three ways spirit has to hit people? No thanks.
-
Playing killer is actually getting kinda easy now. Any pallet drop is basically a free hit, what with all the desync.
-
Just check their Steam profiles. If they're friends, find a new lobby. EZ.
-
Don't give up on them, just make them stop sucking.

And que times are incredibly long now.
For sure, queues have gotten a lot longer since I started playing.
-
Maybe if any other killers were anywhere near useful at red ranks, you'd see them.
I can't even remember the last time I've seen a red rank clown :(
-
If they were a good survivor (good chase, i see them on gens, they help teammates etc.) I'll usually let them go. If they were useless (immersed, hookfarming, etc) there's no way in heck I'd give them the hatch, because I know how much it sucks to have one of these people as teammates.

Sorry I didn't clarify, but I mean how much play time in total. (Like if I had a day of play time I'd be rank 19)
For me personally, I hit rank 1 for the first time about 70 hours in. That was before they made ranking harder though, so I'd probably say about 100 hours? From buying the game to rank 1.
-
If you played the strongest builds in the game every time (Omegablink Nurse, Prayer/Ring Spirit) all the way from rank 20 to 1, double pipping each time (easy with these builds), at 10 minutes a game (generous estimate) it would take about 7 hours.
A typical, non OP build player would probably need about 21 hours of optimal play to get to rank 1 killer.

I live in Russia and there are no dedicated servers, playing Dbd now for us is annoying..
They said if a server is nowhere near you, you should still be able to use P2P, but if that's not happening... :/
-
If they'd just buff WGLF, it wouldn't be an issue. As it is, there's literally no reason not to run it if I actually want to try to bother earning bloodpoints as a surv.
-
@Dreamnomad said:
Lol, obviously they are a long way from dedicated servers being ready. That was pretty painful.
Indeed. :(
-
He'd still be an M1 killer with an easy first hit, just like a few other killers.

I'm on the East Coast but sometimes my ping to the server as killer is 50 ms and sometimes 130 ms. There's only one server for East Coast if I remember correctly (can't find the info thread now). Is my game trying to connected to a different server and that's why it's getting the higher ping? I got matched with players from Germany at some point.
Edit:
Wouldn't it be nice to be able to see which server you're connected to?
That would be a welcome change

You can't opt out of dedicated servers.
That's the point. The servers are still terrible, and not being able to opt out is a glaring issue.
-
How do I opt out? My ping as killer is garbage right now, I'm nowhere near a data center.

Just like how every spirit main etc tells us to run perks to SPECIFICALLY counter them, I guess the double standards could apply to just run franklins? :)
Nice strawman.

Nah. You're reading what you want to.
Please learn proper english before trying to communicate with others, it'll make the experience a LOT easier for us.
They said add-ons like moris give killers a big ego. You tried to defend them blindly, and got smacked in the face with the truth. Just accept it. 😀

You telling me you cant breathe with your mouth closed
Sick with the flu, so nose-breathing isn't really an option.
As an aside, that picture is definitely going in my reactions folder.
-
Jokes on you, I smiled with my mouth closed. Now I'm suffocating.

How would bots even work in a game like DBD? Would an AI killer just pretend not to know exactly where you are at all times? Would an AI survivor loop the killer a set number of times? The game was never designed for bots at all. Even in the tutorial, if you try to go off the rails, the bots just stop responding.

They're saying that when killers with big egod use very strong add ons or offerings and do well with them, they act as if they are good at the game. They are not saying simply using those things = big ego.
So no, the tables haven't turned.
Please reread the original comments, and read carefully this time.
The tables have, in fact, been turned.

It doesn't. That's not what they said.
@ASAPTurtle said:
@Kerbert Because they'll usually think their better than you because they got a easy 4K with the use of stuff that they know the average survivor dislikes to play against.
Oh how the tables have turned.

While NOED rewards killers for not doing their objective of stopping survivors from completing generators and killing them, perks like Adrenaline reward survivors for completing their objective. When playing survivor, why should they be punished for completing their objective? I think that because NOED is causing such a divide in the community, it should be looked at by the devs. I’m not suggesting a hard nerf to it, but something that satisfies both sides and makes it SEEM less like a “handholding crutch perk” and more of a utility perk that is fair and balanced.
Someone suggested to me the other day that NOED still remain a hex perk, but at the beginning of the match it is designated to ONE totem on the map which appears dull until the exit gates are powered. At this point, if the dull totem still remains, NOED activates and becomes lit.
Let's see here...
Counters for Adrenaline:
-Kill all survs before EGC/5 gens
-Play a killer with an instadown/Use an insta-down addon on a killer without one
Counters for NOED:
-Spend an average of 17 seconds per survivor cleansing totems
Which is easier?

I’m not sure about make rule set no. 2 part of base kit but I like your idea with Hex: Lullaby. Personally I think that increasing her crouch movement speed from 92 to 94% would be a nice change. The meta really makes it to where you can’t play stealth Pig because of gen Rush.
In that vein, why does ghostface get on-demand stealth, and an instant crouch, but pig has a super slow crouch, with the stealth slowly fading in afterwards?
-
It's pallet heaven, but I'd say it's only slightly skewed towards survivors, not horrendously skewed like Lampkin Lane.
-
I think the map's brightness is fine now. No map should be bright white (Looking at you, Lery's), but no map should be pitch black either.
-
Interesting, I'll be keeping my eye on this.
-
Except it's not, and still occurs very regularly.

@ad19970 said:
I'm surprised people want Rule Set No. 2 in base kit. I personally don't think that would be good. The main purpose of Pig's Reversed Bear Traps is to slow the game down, not kill survivors.
If it becomes part of the base kit, then you could use the addon that increases the available jigsaw boxes by one and the addon that decreases the Bear Trap timer. It would be way too likely to get kills via Reversed Bear Traps. And probably very annoying for survivors as well since it's based on rng.
One buff I would love to see is for survivors to have a 0% chance to receive the key for your Reveresed Bear Trap in the first Jigsaw Box you search. But Rule Set No. 2 would be too good in my opinion.
2-addons would make a killer way too good! Oh no! We should prevent that at any cost!
-Iridescent Heads + Infantry Belt
-Coxcombed Clapper + Ghost - Soot
-Fragrant Tuft + Judith's Tombstone
-Omegablink Nurse
-Prayer Beads Bracelet (1 Addon = SS+ tier killer)
Your argument is not valid. Pig needs buffs, period.

What is spaghetti code?
Code that resembles spaghetti -- a tangled, jumbled mess, where it is difficult to follow any individual strand to its end.
