Funny how people still play killer. I nearly quit a few times myself, but something about this game draws you back, and I don't know what it is.

I quit after the nurse got nerfed. I check the forums when I have downtime at work. As for the game, I haven't really played it in like 9 months.

  • @lazytension said:

No, no, and no. DS has already been nerfed 4-5 times since it's release. It doesn't need to be touched again. I use it as a survivor, and it has saved my booty multiple times. But it has also kicked my ass, as a killer. It's just one of those perks you have to deal with. You can only use it ONCE per trial so it's a fair perk. There are SEVERAL survivor perks (NOED, HG) that give the killer a full "unfair" advantage, very similar to DS. So, it's a double edged sword that cuts both ways.

Hate to tell you this but if DS saved your booty multiple times then you shouldnt have escaped. You should get better and DS is preventing you from improving. NOED can be removed before it ever comes into play. All hex perks can be cleansed. NOED isn't a 2nd chance perk like survivor mains would have you believe. It's a perk to punish gen rushing. A 2nd chance perk for killer would be something that required you to repair an extra generator.

Yes it does need to be touched again and its only been nerfed once. I wouldn't even call it a nerf. It is still the most powerful tool for survivor. When ruin got nerfed hardly anyone uses it anymore.

The only thing I would want is make it so if your healed or the killer hooks someone else, your ds shuts off. I wasn't tunneling so the perk did it's job. It's not fair that I can go after someone else, run into you by chance and still get hit by DS. The devs want it to be an anti tunnel perk but survivors use it to get in the killer's face because they are safe for a full minute. This is not how it should be used. If I down someone else that proves I didn't tunnel you and your protection should wear off.

  • I feel the killer's perks, and the killer himself, are very weak.

Exactly! And then survivors [BAD WORD} and complain when you kill them cuz you "tunneled" or "camped". Honestly, If the devs would grow some balls and be a business for once instead of a company who dies cause they "played it safe".

I agree it would be nice if they grew a pair but as a business, why would you upset 4/5's of your customers? I hate to say it but upsetting us is the lesser evil ><

  • @NullEXE said:

Faster survivor que because more players are playing the new Killer.

Which I find funny because no matter how much the dev's tried to deny it. This more than proves the community was right that the long survivor wait time was due to the fact there wasn't enough Killers. Once people have had their fill we are going to go back to the 15-20 minute wait times, until we finally see some real buffs coming Killers way (that are not just band aid perks that get nerfed just before live release)

    This.

They better buff killer pretty soon cause Doom and RE3 are right around the corner.

  • DS

It's the most used survivor perk yet it doesn't get the ruin treatment.

Even if I down/hook someone else I still get hit by it cause it lasts a minute.

It encourages me to slug. Which I hate doing.

People use it to get in the killers face which is immersion breaking.

The sheer number of survivor mains who claim it's an anti tunnel perk when it's still a 2nd chance perk.

If the devs were to actually nerf it like they did to ruin, it would be the equivalent of the ruin nerf. A ######### ton of survivors would suddenly suck and derank. But they won't touch it because it's 4/5s their customers. It took them 2 years to rework it and even after the rework it's still OP.

  • @supersonic853 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1151670#Comment_1151670

Because i didnt expect it but yes i should get punished for going after another surivor downing them going to hook them then get denied by a guy sabotaging the hook i down him and pick him up and get stabbed. Thats entirely me tunneling... The survivor shouldnt be rewarded for stuff like that the devs even said saboing infront of a killer is dumb because your basically trading. Not with ds though!

Yet another example of perks being OP when mixed together with other perks.

  • There's also the issue of so many people filing reports for things that are not reportable. I've been reported for using noed when the devs came out and said there is nothing wrong with doing that cause it's a perk in the game. I've had people accuse me of wall hack on nurse when I was finding them with BBQ. I had a killer claim I was lag switching when I was running to the exit gate. It was actually the very rare, well timed Dead Hard.

  • @Eye66 said:

They'll never rebalance DS, 70% of survivor players would be lost without their broken hypercheat invincibility perk to completely depend on for every escape. Granted it's slightly fairer for the first down after the rework but much more abusable afterward. It directly rewards bad plays and trolling, the perk is the worst thing in the game

70% of killers would be lost without ruin. They wouldn't dare nerf ........oh wait that's right. They did nerf that. Only ruin was needed on weaker killers. Survivors don't NEED ds to survive.

  • They should make it so if the killer hooked someone else or they got healed, ds shuts off. Its not anti tunnel. Its still a 2nd chance perk.

  • Maybe let us break the wall holding the window :P

I think the draw back is the shack is a good place to loop the killer but the basement is usually there. If you screw up and the killer downs you. Your ass is going in the basement, which is a dangerous place to be hooked.

  • @XombieRocker said:

Cross play: Meh, sure ok. I see no reason not to have it.

Cross SAVE: YES. PLEASE. RIGHT NOW. I would rebuy this game on PC in a SECOND if I could keep my progress.

    I'm all for cross save.

Cross play however. I think if a playstation swf faced a PC nurse, they would quit dbd.

But she's free now, so she's more of a poor man's Huntress than the dude who costs like five bucks lol

Shes only free because we completed that challenge.

and yes the paid version is weaker :P

When they announced him I called it. I said he was going to be huntress's version of bubba.

  • @undeadcookie said:

    Isn't Huntress a poor man's Huntress because she's free?

She wasn't going to be free. The devs issueed a challenge before her release. It was like break a million pallets or something within a week. We did that. Hence why she was free. Otherwise they would have charged us for her.

  • @siyke26 said:

It is quit funny but you killer mains don't understand if survivors quit who are you going kill and complain about I for one will be happy to see this game fail if not just for satisfaction of the killer mains got what they wanted and the survivors decided that game wasn't worth playing anymore

It's even funnier that you survivors don't understand that if we don't play you don't have a game. Considering you only need 1 of us and your still waiting 20 mins for a match. What does that tell you about the amount of killer players? Were the ones being driven away with all these one sides updates. This patch didn't do jack ######### for us.

Your tool boxes got nerfed, well ruin got nerfed first. You don't even need tool boxes to gen rush. A lot of weak killers needed ruin. There was a reason it was used most matches. They chopped off your pinkie toe while we lost a leg.

We got a new killer.....whoopee. A weaker version of an existing killer who is full of bugs and our ptb feedback was ignored.

Gearhead and hangman's trick got nerfed. Meanwhile your sabo didn't get any adjustments.

What did we gain from this? Breakable walls? In one room on only one map and by the time we break it you can run to another pallet. Yeah, fair trade -.-

Your the reason I don't play anymore. I want to have fun but people like you whine to the devs for unreasonable nerfs. You take away all the fun when I play this game and now your complaining I'm not around for you to bully. Enjoy your que times. You made it this way :P

See you on Doom Eternal and RE3

  • That's one benefit of steam. They can't message you unless they befriend you, which you can decline. When this stuff happens to me I quote Tywin Lannister :P

Why would you even listen to what other people telling you to do? Thats your problem.

I don't listen to them. I play how I want. #@$% the survivors rule book for killers! I'm only pointing out it's unfair that one sides gets to bring everything at their disposal yet expect the other side to only use "approved" methods.

  • I agree. Except for NOED, because it only activates late game, and Devour Hope, hex perks are weak. Ruin is a shadow of it's former self. Lullaby is strong but only if you somehow get 5 stacks before all the gens are completed and it doesn't get cleansed. Which I may have had that happen only twice. I never really used 3rd seal. Sometimes I ran DH with haunted grounds but I don't use the speedy killers so I didn't get much use out of it. TOTH is just doubling down. You can't see which totem is toth and which is the one you want to protect. Your already risking 3 perks a match when running a hex perk. toth brings it to 2 perks a match. DH is by far my favorite hex because it pays off at 3 stacks instead of 5 and they don't get a notification until exposure. By then I can guard it. 2 more stacks and I can mori people which is fair because I had to work for that mori. Lullaby gets revealed the moment they touch a gen before any stacks are built. Even if you manage to get 5 stacks the pay off isn't nearly as good as Devour Hope. Then there's the very good chance the totem is out in the open or they spawn right next to it.

Survivors don't need a notice when a hex is up. They should play the game and learn what to expect instead of being given more information. If your healthy and you got one shoted but the gens aren't completed you should assume it's DH. If there's no audio que for skill checks that's lullaby.

  • If a killer were to bring an ebony mori or the few strong add ons that's the only thing I can think of that would make them powerful. However you get yelled at for being a try hard.

Meanwhile, survivors bring every crutch perk at their disposal, keys, offerings the whole nine yards and that is somehow considered the norm.

How come killer is the only side being told how to play?

  • "Until killer is fixed"?

    That'll never happen -.-

  • Im sry. Are you new to dbd? Ive come to expect this sort of behavior from these devs. I dont think they ever released a strong killer since the nurse.

"Not trying to be rude but your complaints don't matter."

Lol. And being a PC player myself, this game isn't exactly well optimized here either. Even on a beefy system it can run about as well as a dead bird in a hamster wheel. So that point is moot.

Im not saying their complaints dont matter. Im saying the game wasnt intended to be on console so the devs give it even less attention.

If the last survivor is the one who did everything, played really well and pulled his weight but got teamed with potatos he also deserves a chance at escaping.

If he did everything he already earned a pip, perhaps 2.

What if the killer did very well? What if he applied pressure, didn't camp or tunnel, and won a lot of mind games? Does he not deserve a 4k?

  • Not to be rude but console players were an after thought. If they really cared they would have made the game work on console just as well on pc. You were just another resource for them to tap.

  • I'd wait for about a week or 2 for people to learn how to play against him before I give my opinion on him.

  • I gave up on dbd after the nurse rework. I browse the forums when I'm bored at work until I lose my temper and get banned.

It takes the same amount of time as it takes to break a pallet.. So if they just break them as they walk by, its no big deal for killers.

At least we can break these before a chase. At god loops I think it will help but other chases it sounds like just another thing waste time breaking. While your in animation they can get to another jungle gym.

I am looking forward to potential jump scares with the stealth killers. Hear them working on a gen as Mikey at EW1. Then bust through the wall like "I'm the juggernaut b#@$%!"

It won't be. Ever get scammed online? Oh I will get it shipped next week, give me some time to see what happened, I got sick, give me a few more days... Then they finally stop all together. That all this is, just a delay to get people off their backs, but they have no intentions of fixing this crap.

The deathlsinger feels like an excuse to suck in the FPS crowd. A pitiful attempt to remedy the lack of killer players in the game. The way MM is, no new player is going to enjoy playing killer.

  • Honestly. If the killer killed 3 survivors before all the gens were completed and he found the hatch before you did. He deserves that 4k.

  • This didn't take long.

  • Killer bots. Cause the way things are now the game is going to die.

  • Personally I wouldn't pay real money for this dlc.

The most important detail. This patch was delayed a week and Deathslinger got BP adjustments, a hit sound (woohoo...), and a crow nerf. I can't fathom what goes on in the minds of BHVR devs at times. Like, seriously? No feedback was used when Ruin was gutted, no feedback was used about Sabo, and no feedback was used with Deathslinger. Why even bother having a PTB at this point. Playtest your own game, stop forcing the community to have some "say" in what goes on with the game when nothing gets used. Jesus, I need to get some air, this is such an annoying update.

I never played the PTB but when Ash was coming out. Didn't tons of killer mains say MoM would break the game? No need to remind everyone how that went -.-

  • "DS. Eat it or slug it?"

    I vote Mori it

  • @kamisen said:

If this is the case, they should take a look at all the invisible obstacles that block hatchets too. So many loops where hatchets should go over but are magically blocked.

They'll get right on that. Just like the various audio bugs and the nurse being unable to blink through certain objects.

  • Somehow, I have this feeling you don't need anything in particular to counter this killer.

  • They wanted to wait to the week before Doom Eternal. Cause when that drops, killers won't be playing this game.

  • Just make it so if you get healed or the killer hooks someone else, DS deactivates. If you chased+hooked someone else it proves you didn't tunnel.

My only issue with DS is it's too safe. Often I run into the hooked survivor by chance, down them again and DS is still ready. Someone with DS makes a hook save right in front of me. There is no right decision. One has ds. The other can have BT and DS. You slug, they can run unbreakable. For F#@$s sake, if you need all these perks to escape maybe you shouldn't have escaped in the first place. You should have died and learn to git gud.

  • How long did it take them to rework ds? Even after it's still the most used survivor perk in the game.

They rework killer perks and they become utter garbage after they get done with them.

  • They nerfed it because it's a killer perk.

  • I suggest recording your match then watching it. You'd be surprised how many times you see a claudette crouched in the corner and your like "How did I not see that?"

As for getting better I suggest going to youtube/twitch and finding a killer main that uses the killer you like. There's a few big names out there that have some great videos and some still stream. TydeTyme, Tru3tal3nt(however you spell his name) Marth, Ortzdarva, hybridpanda ect.

As a trapper main sometimes Ill go on twitch and watch videos of theentitylefthand or Humerogamers for inspiration. For Nurse I watch Ardetha.

  • @johnmwarner said:

This is why everyone should play both sides, a pretty even amount if you ask me. More appreciative and understanding of the other side. You start to see both sides get hosed, both have OP perks, both have annoying play styles and then HOPEFULLY... you won’t do that because you know how it feels

I feel most of the toxic threads on these forums can be removed by asking one simple question.

"If I was in their place wouldn't I do the same thing?"

  • Considering killers get thrown at whoever is waiting the longest, I don't think individual rank is going to make a difference. MM is going to suck all around. What if you que up as a killer you barely used, then switch to your main at 6 secs left? Like survivors do when they switch to legacy Dwight with a purple flashlight. Be pretty damn ironic though.

  • I think it's just dumb that people will go that far to try to get an edge.

  • I started as a killer main. Then I met some friends and we swf'ed a lot. Out of like 800 hours I have no clue what my ratio is. Maybe 50/50. Friends play other games now and I find playing killer too frustrating so I'm playing other games.

  • I thought at one point BT was changed to proximity to the killer? Not TR. I thought they changed it to that because of the rise of stealth killers bypassing it while hook camping.

Obsession either gets you tunneled or accidentally buffs the killer. And only one perk gives them any distinct advantage, which is Dying Light.

What I hate about obsession is I don't run ds. Because of that the game mostly puts me as the obsession. If I swf, all my friends run ds yet Im the one made the obsession -.-

    You might be right.

I still think the devs are incompetent though in terms of balance.

Patch 1.9.2 was what made me lose faith in the devs. The patch where they removed the timing needed to stun someone in pick up animation with a pallet or flashlight. That and old MoM. Those 2 moments made me ask "######### were you thinking?"

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

Broken needs more downsides if people are dreading survivors having it.

I think the obsession needs more downsides. Unless the killer is running rancor there's like no negative. Hell if the killer is running stbfl or pwyf they are more likely to leave you alone if your the obsession.
