At least he's better then old Freddy. I don't miss the days of putting someone to sleep and waiting 7 seconds before being able to do anything to them.
-
I'll wait until we tested it more before making my assumption. My impression is it will probably be game breaking for swf, useless for solo.
If it turns out to be broken, I'll add it to the list of "WTH were you thinking?" patches. Right between patch 1.9.2 and old MoM.

Well the Doctor got picked so often since he got a rework. I think this explains it. Huntress, Spirit and Nurse an deal with loops, yes. But there are certain spots a Huntress cannot do anything. Their kill rates speak for themselves.
Nurse is also plagued with a couple bugs that have been around for months and still not been resolved.
Failing to teleport through objects
Auto Aiming locking onto trees/hooks to name a few

Thing is, that breaks any sense of creativity in the game. Yes, many survivors and killers are not creative and slap the same perks on all builds without even thinking if they go well with each other, but that doesn't mean that you should restrict the rest of people in their loadouts. It would be unfair and cause complaints on both sides
Considering all the killer nerfs lately, what combination of perks for killer is powerful these days? I think the killer community might take that change as a positive. If survivors can;t stack ds, adren, bt and this new perk, killers might take it as a buff lol
-
Survivor. If it's Oni or Billy, Coldwind. So much open space they can dash anywhere. If it's a stealth killer, Lerys+the game. Too many corners and close quarters.
Killer. Swamp+bedham sucks all around. Everyone runs to the boat or the school. If I'm playing my Nurse I hate coldwind. Corn is my kryptonite.

It's definetly more balanced than old instaheals, you can at least down the one that is broken once they "E for the people". The most abusive and broken use of this perk would probably be either a DS player heal their friend right of a hook, who also has DS. Or using a syptic agent on yourself and then heal someone with the perk, making you both untouchable.
That's what I picture happening. Yet another example of perks being broken when combined. They need to throw certain perks into a category and restrict how many of those certain perks you can equip.

I hope you don't think DS and BORROWT Time is a 2nd chance perk... I swear then ds and borrow get a nerf again,, I play never again Survivor, I m red Rang killer and Surv, I say it's only hard to play against SWFs but not against four solo Q player this is a free 4K... I hate only Iron will and dead hard because I main Nurse on PS4 nurse have zero chance against four survs with iron will and dead hard on ps4, sry my english is not rly good...
Nurse on console? ouch
When I say stacking 2nd chance perks I mean stacking ALL of them. By themselves I feel they are fine. It becomes a problem when ALL 4 survivors run all them. Each one has it's issues
DS>Make it so if I hook someone else or you got healed it turns off. Or lower the timer to 40 seconds instead of 1 min. It's an anti tunnel perk yet I get hit by it even if I don't tunnel. This is a 2nd chance perk. No one can argue this. It rewards bad game play. If you screw up and get caught this perk buy you an escape. That would be like if all 5 gens got completed and the entity added a 6th gen the survivors have to finish to open the gates. NOED isn't a 2nd chance perk. More like a punisher perk for survivors choosing to rush the gens. Survivors have the power to prevent noed from ever activating. There is nothing killer can do to stop DS from triggering. "Don't tunnel" IS NOT A SOLUTION. No matter how killer plays they still have to operate around DS.
BT>I'm actually fine with BT the way it is. I remember when you could only use it like once a match and it applied to both people. I don't miss that. What I hate is when I hook survivor A and hunt survivor B. I hook survivor B then survivor A rescues survivor B right in my face because they have DS. In that case I'm screwed no matter who I go after. If survivor B has BT and survivor A has DS, no matter who I pick it's going to take 2 hits to down them. If I go after B they have BT and they could have DS. If I go after A they have DS. Damned if I do and damned if I don't. My only option is to slug. Which is why I feel if I hooked someone else, your DS should deactivate because that proves I wasn't tunneling.
Adren>Not too bad. Just super annoying when you down someone as everyone else finishes the last gen. What I don't like is when the situation mentioned above happens. Again, by themselves they are fine but when mixed together it becomes broken.
Dead Hard>I don't have a problem with this either. I hated it when people could use it to bait a killers swing. It was damn near a free block before the servers. Now it rarely takes a swing but it can still be useful. You just need to use it to give yourself that extra distance to get to a apllet.
Old MoM>Honestly if you couldn't mix this with all the above I felt it was fine. Current MoM is crap. This perks creation further proves me complaint about the devs having no clue what they are doing. When they teased that perk every killer main said "That's going to be broken" but they don't listen to the minority.
By themselves the perks are tolerable. When you combine 2-3 of them, and a LOT of survivors do, they become OP. I don't need charts to know this cause I can't play a game without seeing DS on at least 3 people, adren and bt on 2 ect. Granted my personal experience isn't all games but if I'm running into them this often they have to be frequent. If only 20% of survivors mix all these perks together, the odds of me running into them most of my matches is improbable.
Out of all the 2nd chance perks, the only one I run every game is BT and that's for my team's sake not mine. I feel if you need DS and Adren every single game your not improving as a survivor. Your depending on crutch perks to escape. As killer I learned to not rely on perks because the devs will most likely nerf the good ones. Survivor on the other hand keeps getting more ways to escape because the devs tailor the game around rank 20s. If the killer tunnels you to death you should learn to loop better or learn to not be seen. If he face camps you on the first hook your team should punish the killer by doing the gens and getting out.
Survivors have all the power in this game, just not all of them know how to use it. Yet the devs keep making their job easier. Which is why the amount of killers is at an all time low and survivor que times are +20 mins.

Literally waited years for Trapper to receive buffs. Just how patient can one be?
I dont think its much of a buff. Traps move once someone steps in them. It will probably only be useful if you plant a trpa in the right spot, someone disarms it and you rearm it.

Oh, didn't know about Maps being resized? Thats sounds excellent.
The devs have talked about adjusting the map sizes. Which will greatly help. Breakable walls may help but we will have to wait until they get here. The biggest issue is not all killers are equal. Some not even close.
If you enjoy playing killer and you dont mind going against red ranks, now is the time to play. It's like when the economy crashes and it's the best time to buy houses :P
-
Yes a lot of r1 killers have switched sides or went on to other games. It wasn't just the ruin nerf but I think that was the straw that broke the camel's back. You can run into a full group of red survivors at rank 18 killer. There's a few posts on these forums about it.
Sadly, ruining ruin ruined the MM. Ruin kept newbie survivors in their place. Without it survivors are ranking up easier. Red ranks are saturated with survivors causing long que times. Ruin didn't do anything against good survivors so there really was no reason to get rid of it.
A lot of killers lack early game pressure and ruin was a semi solution. Even if it bought 30 seconds M1 killers needed it. Now that it's gone killer can afford zero mistakes. Along with the long survivor que times, killer is being thrown at any survivor group who has been waiting a long time. Regardless of rank. Before if you deranked or took a long break you could get matched against lower ranked survivors if you didn't want to use the meta killers/builds. Now you can get paired against red ranks no matter what rank you are. It's really a coin toss at this point. Either the survivors are try hards or newbies that got boosted. Killer just isn't a fun experience anymore and until the devs address the core issue, killers won't come back. The deathslinger isn't bringing them back, that's for sure.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the 1m BP limit originally to stop people hacking BP into the game (or rather limit the amount)?
I'm curious if that concern still warrants the 1m cap or if it could be increased/removed. I'm almost positive in the very early days of DBD there was no cap and it was added in pretty early too.
I have no idea about that but I could be wrong.
I think the reason the bp is capped at 1mil is so you can't P3 a killer/survivor the day they release. Granted if you have 1mil saved up and shards to buy perks from the shrine you already have you can really lvl up a new killer before you even use the. When GF came out I think I got him to p1 when I first played as him. Had 1mil saved up and bought 2 perks from the shrine.

It's either going to break the game or be very niche. If it does break the game I can guarantee killers won't dodge lobbies. They will dodge the game and "play something else". Doom eternal comes out in like 11 days.
-
Billy is strong but not OP. He is probably what most killers should be balanced around. Powerful but counter-able. I've seen billys tear through groups with the chainsaw while others looped him so well he had to M1 them to death.
-
I like inner strength. It's a quicker heal, I don't have to find someone else to heal me, it's a great way to top myself off after a hook rescue, and it encourages randoms to cleanse the bones.
-
Most survivors are salty?
Since ruin was ruined I'm seeing more "red" rank survivors that don't know how to play. Maybe these "red" survivors you destroyed were actually yellow survivors before the ruin nerf? This is what you get when you give out participation trophies.
-
@Exerlin said:
I think killers should be allowed to open an exit gate at any time.
But what if the killer is running noed and blood warden? If the killer could open the gate at the start of the match, there's no way they will have cleansed all 5 totems by then. All he needs to do is down one person and BW is up. Granted they could hide for 60 seconds but I can picture killers doing this to be spiteful.
-
Because there's hardly anyone playing killer right now. The MM tries to find people your rank and when it can't it expands the search. Wait long enough and it will throw the first available killer your way.
-
Only thing I can think of is one of two
1: The survivor doesn't know you are in there and it's an honest mistake.
2: Or, more likely, the survivor knows you are in there and they do it deliberately. They could be trolling, helping the killer because they know them or trying to get the killer to go after someone else. A locker grab is a free hook, a running survivor may take awhile to down. If it's done on purpose it's unsportsmanlike to me but probably not a re-portable offensive cause you can't prove they were doing it deliberately.
As for why you don't get points for hiding in a locker all match. It's because your not playing. The devs want you to play specific way. Like how they want killers to chase, down, hook each survivor 3 times. The devs don't want you to sit in a locker waiting for the hatch to appear for an easy escape. Your screwing over your teammates. I wouldn't want to play a match with you if all your going to do it hide in a locker waiting for me to die. If your hiding in a locker, deliberately doing nothing, waiting for the team to die so you can get hatch. Yeah they are going to reveal you because it's a dirty tactic. If your in a locker because you have to go afk that's fine. If your hiding in a locker because your waiting for everyone else to die, your dead weight.

Lower the timer to 40 secs
Make it so if the killer hooks someone else or the survivor gets healed, DS deactivates
Do this and I think DS will be perfect. But I don't see this ever happening.

They can't hide slow queue times though. Disparity may get fixed may not but there are some things that can't be hidden with the rework.
No I mean they are going to make it so we dont see everyone's rank after the match. So we will no longer see how wide the rank range is. You can be a r18 killer getting r1 survivors. Theyre going to hide ranks so you dont see how messed up the MM screwed you. They're not solving anything, they're covering it up to try to get us to stop complaining.
-
@ChainsawCharlie said:
Yeah matchmaking started to go downhill after the Stranger Things DLC. That was the beginning, and since then it has steadily gotten worse, and now it's actually completely broken. The first problem is the matchmaking system itself having technical issues. The second problem is the fact that a lot of killers have quit playing killer, or just quit DBD in general, so there's not enough high rank killers to go around so then it forces lower ranked killers to go against the Red Rank survivors.
So there's a couple of major fundamental issues going on with this game right now, and the worst part is RADIO SILENCE from the Devs. There's a least 2 or 3 threads like this DAILY and the Devs haven't said anything except that they are "aware" of the problems. But hey! We got a new Plague cosmetic! And we're getting another new average killer to add to the roster of killers hardly anybody plays anymore.
Oh the devs have said something, only its not good news. They said they are going to hide the ranks so we no longer see how bad were getting sodomized by MM.

On PC its Billy, spirit, huntress. Used to be nurse but not many use her anymore after her rework. The big issue is not all killers are strong and every time they try to buff them, survivors scream bloody murder. Seriously survivors. Is trapper being able to rearm his traps without picking them up the end of the world?
-
I'm glad if we die early were not forced to stay for the entire match before getting out bloodpoints. That was the one thing that put me off FT13th.
TL:DR
Don't quit and if you don't like the game, play something else till they patch it. That's what I'm doing.
-
It works in reverse. If the survivors dc the killer gets next to nothing. If the killer is doing exceptionally well he often depips. The ranking system wants killers to hit/down/hook survivors 3 times each. If you have a killer with a 1 shot ability your chaser and brutality are going to be in the bronze. That's why legion ranks up so easily yet he struggles to secure kills. His power lets him win chases and hit people but it doesn't help him down them.
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
Yes this is a common thing actually.

Yeah. The "rework" to MM is to hide everyone's rank so you don't see how F@#$ed up the MM is.
-
Survivor
Fix the ranking system. We got red survivors that can't even hit great skill checks(thanks ruin nerf)
Main objective is boring and can be completely quickly if the survivors choose too.
Once all 2nd chance perks are unlocked and equipped they become op
Killer
Maps are too large
Many killers lack early game pressure
Many killers powers do not help them in a chase
The biggest con to killers. The Devs! Going off their track record, it feels they don't play killer at red ranks. There have been patches that make me ask "What were you thinking? That's going to make things worse"
-
When I play as my trapper, once in awhile I get some really dumb survivors. I'll hook someone in the basement, rig the place like the vietcong and leave. Someone might step in a trap and I add them to the basement hooks. Rearm, patrol again. Then someone else comes by and steps in the same trap. At this point I have 3 people in the basement so I don't leave. I find the 4th sitting outside and I down him. All 4 in the basement and like 1-2 gens got completed. I don;t even safety. The reason being my chaser and brutality were very low. They came to me and stepped in traps. I picked them up. So I had next to no chases and hardly any hits because picking them up in traps is more bloodpoints. I 4ked easily because of their mistakes and the entity was displeased.
The ranking system is a joke. It tries to get you to go easy on the survivors if your winning. Best to ignore it. Besides pipping is over rated. The higher up in rank the higher your odds of getting only red survivors. At least at yellow or green ranks you have a "chance" of getting people your rank.

I think killers will slug even more but yeah, agitation, grit, maybe iron grasp will all get a spike in usage. Since the devs oh so love to look at perk stats, id like to see the % for the perks mentioned above before and after the patch goes live.
-
If I down someone and they rescue them right in front of me I go after the rescuer. Normally if I see 2 survivors. 1 healthy and 1 injured, I go for the injured one. Most efficient use of my time. The exception is when a hook rescue is involved. If they were stupid enough to unhook right in front of me they are either farming or have BT and maybe DS on top. So if someone unhooks in front of me I go for the rescuer because 2 hits is faster than 1 bt hit, another hit to down, then a ds, rechase, hit again.
My biggest issue with DS is when I hook someone and leave. They get rescued and healed while I downed+hooked someone else. I run into that first survivor again by chance, down them again and DS is STILL active. I understand it's an anti tunnel perk and it was worse. I chased, downed, hooked someone else and you were healed up. It should wear off in that circumstance.
-
I haven't played as him. So take my opinion with a grain of salt. I think he looks cool. I agree he looks like his purpose was to hook the FPS crowd and after demo, you would think we would get more monster killers. His power looks cool but I feel he is a weaker huntress. His draw is faster but huntress doesn't require reeling in people to hurt them. If he hits someone, if he can reel them in without obstruction, he has to hit them then repeat the entire process to down someone. Huntress can easily hit someone with 2 hatchets or 1 hatchet followed by a melee. I feel this killer is going to be Huntress's version of Bubba. The only positive I see is he may have slightly better crowd control. If you see 2 survivors together he could shoot, reel, mend one then go after the other. The first survivor will be busy mending instead of going right back to the gen but that won't slow him down for long.
I predict the forums will still be filled with "Deathislinger is OP!" threads.
-
Doc has monitor and abuse. Very good on killers with small terror radius. Pair it with NC and most survivors won't hear your heartbeat before you can see them helaing.
Which 2 skills from pig do you have? Surveillance and MYC are the good ones and if you got those you probably dont need hangman's trick. At least I hope the new sabo changes dont force us to run it.
On Hag, 3rd seal is for meme builds but DH is good.
GF perks kinda suck. I dont see the point of a smaller TR "during" a chase. Thrilling tremors is okay. The problem is he's a licensed killer so you need to pay real money for him.
Plague has Corrupt Intervention. Now that ruin is crap I highly recommend it for killers like trapper or hag.
Can't say anything about Deathslinger since he isn't here yet.

DS has been nerfed, what, twice now? It's still the strongest survivor perk in the game. It's literally game breaking since survivors have a whole minute of invincibility, potentially allowing them to gens while injured and otherwise unsafe stuff like that.
There are 2 different ways this affects how killers play.
1) A killer will get 0k-2k because half the time he downed someone, they still had DS and he had to play around it so he left them to chase someone else, allowing them to get healed back to full for free. He ends up 2-hooking everyone as a result and loses. This isn't fun for either side.
2) The killer decides to play by his rules and slugs everybody for the guaranteed 4k. Yes: DS, I think, is responsible for the rise of slugging. Even this strategy has a counter in Unbreakable or even No Mither. But if the killer is good enough, even the Unbreakables won't be able to save the survivors. This isn't fun for either side.
There's quite a few perks on the survivor side that I have a problem with, but DS takes the cake. I think it's on the same level of overpowered as pre-nerf Mettle of Man, but people are used to it so they make an exception. Perks that punish the killer for doing their objective should be destroyed or reworked. But since that won't happen, I'm left with ZERO hope for this game. If I don't enjoy myself when Deathslinger comes out, I'll probably just quit.
I agree with everything you said but the devs won't touch DS again. Survivor is 4/5ths their customers. If they take out DS, while I think it will make the game better overall, the game will die. If DS was nerfed properly SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many survivors would suck at the game. There's a large amount of players who can't win without crutch perks. They would review bomb the store page, shotgun the forums with "change it back" threads or they would stop playing. Even the devs aren't dumb enough to piss off most of their customers buying their useless cosmetics.
As much as I want DS fixed, I don't expect it to ever happen. I'm actually surprised it got reworked to what it's at now. The only way I can picture the devs truly nerfing DS is if no one was playing killer. While it's at a low right now, there are still some left.
-
I don't know if this would work. I do like the idea though. I feel there is zero downside to being the obsession unless the killer is using rancor. Hell if the killer is using stbfl or pwyf they are more likely to leave the obsession alone. I think there should be a real downside to being the obsession.
-
Whenever I look at the shrine I think of Xur from Destiny. All those months checking his shop once a week to discover he isn't selling gjallarhorn.(#########!)
Anyway I like the shrine. I have all the perks so it's a way for me to farm bloodpoints if I have plenty of shards.

That's IF you even come across a nurse these days. I actually get excited when I play against one now because it's literally 1 in 100 matches lately....
Id like to use her more but it's just not fun anymore. Good survivors always run to a building and it's guess work at that point. One match on Badlem literally EVERY TIME I found someone they ran to the school. It got so bad I let them take those generators. Corn is my weakness when playing as Nurse.
When I play Nurse 1 of 2 things happens.
1: The survivors suck. They try to treat me like any loopable killer and they get steam rolled. Making me feel bad for beating up newbies.
2: It's survivors that know what they are doing and it's a stressful game.
Id much rather play as my trapper or gf. If they fixed some of her bugs I would use my Nurse more but that won't happen.

They will probably do achieves for every character that is not licensed. As they are not their property so they can't invent a back story for them without asking permission. Also people would feel like it's a dirty trick to get them to buy the dlc. BHVR already caught hate when this achieve had spirit and doc challenges. Trapper was in the game by default so you could do his challenges at anytime. If your a new player, bought the battle pass then find out you need to spend hours of playing to unlock doc+spirit with shards just to do their challenges. People would be upset,
I thought this achieve would include Billy or Wraith challenges since they are the other 2 that were in the game when it launched. It just feels odd they chose Doc and Spirit.

This is why you can't see what killer your up against. Also I think survivor que times would get worse because people WILL dodge killers they don't like. It's already been proven. Look at all the people who suicide on a hook.
No one would play against bubba because they expect basement face camper
No one would play against Nurse cause there's that small chance it's a god nurse
Billy/Huntress/Spirit won't find games because they are strong killers.
Doc wouldn't get games because so many survivors suck against him

As a survivor mainly, i want those banns. Because whatever you think, you dont hurt the killer by dc´ing. You hurt your team. And they wait 20 minutes for a game as well, and when you just dc, they lost as well most of the time.
The killer just benefits from you dc´ing, even if he loses a stack of bbq and some hooking points (unless you give the last survivor the hatch this way, then he loses more)
This.
As killer I hate it when someone dc's because I know I'm going to catch flak from the remaining survivors. "Your teammate screwed you over. Why are you yelling at me?" It also hurts my pips but I don't care about that. I got my r1 achievement and MM puts me against any and everyone so my rank means nothing to me.
As for ban victims. If you quit during a match, I don't want you in this game. The only time I consider it acceptable to quit is if someone is "actually" hacking/cheating or real life stuff happened(bathroom). I say "actually" cheating because there is a ton of stuff that is perfectly legit but people think it's cheating. Like tunneling/camping/NOED/hitting the survivors. If the devs have to come out and say "These are not re-portable offenses" you know people are sore losers. Or there's some really suspicious stuff that looks like hacking but it could be technical issues. In like 800 hours I put into this game I've only reported like 2 people for hacking. It was blatantly clear they were. At the same I've seen dozens of odd looking stuff that made me suspect something but not enough to believe someone was cheating.

Why do they only do that for killers? They keep making things easier for survivor. Ruin being the prime example. People who can't hit great skill checks are flooded red ranks now.
As for nurse, I agree with the add on rework but not the cd to the blinks. I learned her without using more than 2 blinks. When I first tried 3 blinks it felt too easy. I don't like the cd to blinks now. It makes traveling the map harder. By the time I find someone I may have to wait to recharge them before going after someone. Without range add ons most survivors know if they run in a straight line, nurse has to spend 2 blinks just to close the distance and wait to blink again before they can hit you. The great nurses are still strong but that's about it. Every miss placed blink is costly and she is just too frustrating to play now.
