  • Bubba.. 100% no questions asked. I can SAFELY say 90-95% of my Bubba games have all ended in complete disaster. He just is NOT fun killer to play against. I hate Billy and Legion, but at least my success rate on those games are significantly higher and I feel like I can have an actual strategy when playing against them. Bubba's are just a-holes and their justification behind it is "well, you brought a key"..... Oh, okay. Got it.

The mods here will insist that BHVR is all over this type of behavior, but like you, my experience tells me otherwise. I've reported SWFs for crazy homophobic/racist rants and they were still online playing later that week. Maybe BHVR has an 80 strikes and you're out policy, but only if you've bought a lot of pink haired cosmetics

Honestly, if it keeps happening, I'm uninstalling the game and moving on with my life. 1k hours and it keeps getting worse. Nothing has ever been done about this behavior. Therefor, I won't stand for it, nor should anyone else..

  • I was actually just thinking about this the other day. But, I believe it's because we already have "The Spirit". Spirit and Ghost are basically the same thing. And calling it "Ghost Face" is referencing the Mask he is wearing. Not necessarily calling them a "ghost".

If the initial Obsession is dead, then yes there can be a new Obsession - if DS is used, killer has Nemesis for example.

What doesn't happen is that if the Obsession dies, a new obsession is not immediately chosen - there has to be some sort of action that makes someone the obsession.

It's this that can get you 4 Rancor kills in the game (although I've yet to see this happen, still live in hope though :) )

Thanks Mandy! This makes sense. I do not know why I was so adamant on thinking this wasn't true. But you've convinced me!

  • If you are a killer and someone D/C's, whether rage quit or actual connection issues, the killer will only get 'quitters bonus' points. It will not count as a legitimate kill. Also, the game can not tell why someone D/C's. So if someone leaves, regardless of the reason, the D/C penalty will go into effect.

  • My only complaint is.. Why the hell does an engineering toolbox have the same amount of charges as a brown toolbox? That literally doesn't make any sense. Even with add-ons, they don't do enough. I get it, gen rushing is a pain in the ass, but with the new re-work, I'm lucky if I can even get my gen to 25% without the killer coming my way..

It is the point of the game to complete generators.

That's why it needs to be slower.

I can see where toolboxes needed to be slowed down, but not this slow. They are basically making 'very rare' items almost useless.

This is a common idea, and it would never work.

    A. SWF would use abuse this mercilessly to screw over solo players

    B. This is a team game, and that means irresponsible choices by other teammates is going to have consequences

    C. Where's the line between farming and bold play? What if they're actually making the right gamble and are hoping you have DS? What if they have BT? You may think you're getting farmed and deny someone else the unhook when they just took the only opportunity to get you off the hook at all.

I completely agree with A & B. But in regards to C, you can't make any assumptions in this game. I would never unhook a survivor unless I knew they were safe or if the killer came out of nowhere, I'd be the one to take a protection hit. If I'm playing with randoms, I'm not going to assume they have DS, BT, WMI, etc. I'm going to hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Yes it does need to be touched again and its only been nerfed once. I wouldn't even call it a nerf. It is still the most powerful tool for survivor. When ruin got nerfed hardly anyone uses it anymore.

The only thing I would want is make it so if your healed or the killer hooks someone else, your ds shuts off. I wasn't tunneling so the perk did it's job. It's not fair that I can go after someone else, run into you by chance and still get hit by DS. The devs want it to be an anti tunnel perk but survivors use it to get in the killer's face because they are safe for a full minute. This is not how it should be used. If I down someone else that proves I didn't tunnel you and your protection should wear off.

Hate to tell you this but if DS saved your booty multiple times then you shouldnt have escaped. You should get better and DS isn't hindering your improvement.

It's only active for 60 seconds. If the 60 seconds is up, they have to wait until their next unhook (if they are lucky enough to get unhooked). Again, killers have several perks that they can use to FULLY benefit them, a big one being NOED to give them a 4k that they MIGHT'VE not even deserved.. There are ways to counter it, dude. You have to take your chances and play your cards right. It's not a game-breaking perk.

  • No, no, and no. DS has already been nerfed 4-5 times since it's release. It doesn't need to be touched again. I use it as a survivor, and it has saved my booty multiple times. But it has also kicked my ass, as a killer. It's just one of those perks you have to deal with. You can only use it ONCE per trial so it's a fair perk. There are SEVERAL killer perks (NOED, HG) that give the killer a full "unfair" advantage (and I use unfair loosely), very similar to DS. So, it's a double edged sword that cuts both ways.

  • Because like a lot of other perks that have cool downs, you don't need to use completely in order for the cool-down to take affect. Like sprint burst: If you accidentally run (even for a split second), it will become active and then have a cool down. You just have to play it smart, and only use it when you know you'll be able to continue using it start-to-finish.

  • @Rezblaze said:

    #########?

The perk is already a meme.

Are you seriously bitching about it?

If stating my opinion is classified as "bitching", then so be it. I'm simply stating that this perk is OP. If the killer suffers no cool-down on hitting a survivor, what sense does it make for the wiggle meter progression to stop? Depending on the location of the survivors, the killer could easily get several hits and potentially down someone before I could even get half-way through wiggling.

  • 6 DC's?! Absolutely not. There's no reason why anyone should ever have to DC more than once. If something comes up and you HAVE to leave the match, then just do it. But that should not have to happen repeatedly. And if so, stay off the game.. However, there's no way for the DEV's to differentiate between legitimate reasons for DC'ing (weather-related, family emergencies, etc) than someone who's rage quitting. DC is a DC.

I've been playing this game since Mid-2018 and I've only DC'd several times (only 1 of those being due to rage quitting) and the other due to actually having to leave because something just came up mid-game. I usually try and stay off of DBD if I know I may have to leave.

Ultimately, everyone should get at least 1 free DC a day, and that's me being generous..

Its not RNG. It's you picking. Had you gone to the other box first, it would have long been off. That's player choice, not RNG. You. Chose. The. Wrong. Box. Period.

Also, your quote in the OP "... the amount of time to take off the reverse-bear trap when I have to focus on getting away from the killer...."

So, she was or wasnt following you?

Am I seriously going to debate which box is the right one while having that mask on? ESPECIALLY when that mask is already on a short timer? Of course not. I'm going to go the nearest box and try and get it off. If its not the right box, I'll move on. It's not necessarily my fault for choosing the wrong box when I don't even have a choice to begin with, when I'm already having to worry about a stealthy killer that could come around the corner at any moment.

And my "getting away from the killer" is a general statement since.. you know.. getting away from the killer is the objective of being a survivor in DBD. Again, she was definitely targeting me since she knew my time was limited.

  • @Sylorknag said:

How was she tunneling if you had time to search 3 boxes?

Jesus Christ, you guys need to stop complaining about nonsensical made rules, otherwise the only thing left to chase you will be the trees.

Well, the first thing you can do is a relax. Maybe take a deep breath or two. I did say she was a "little" tunnely. I'm not saying she was hard-core following me the entire time, but I was definitely being targeted. I'm not losing my mind over it, I'm just calling it out.

    @Carpemortum said:

Its not RNG. You chose poorly. It is what it is.

Also, if shes chasing you, its not counting down. So. Theres that.

I'm not choosing poorly if my options are very limited. Therefor, it is RNG. I had 1 box left. I can only do so much when I have that mask on. And I never said she was chasing me, but she was definitely tracking me in some shape or form.

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

There's a number of ways they tried alleviating the issue. TR will pause it, so will slugging. But each search is 12 seconds so 45 seconds doesn't sound right. Isn't the add-on that shortens it reduce it to a minute and a half?

    image.png

I'm going to safely assume it was this timer.

Again, I'm not trying to whine, but with bad RNG and a somewhat tunnely killer, I literally could not do anything that game. But I guess it is what it is.

I still don't understand how DS got nerfed. It's ""NERF"" included:

    1. Making the DS skill check much easier than before
    2. Not needing to be the obsession to be able to use it at its full potential
    3. Cannot be countered by juggling anymore
    4. Killer can no longer cause you to "whiff" the skill check by swinging
    5. Works immediately before killer can even move after picking the survivor up
    6. Is no longer countered by enduring
    7. Forces you to become the obsession on use (A huge majority of killer's perks require leaving the obsession alone to even do anything, meaning being the obsession is usually good)
    8. Benefits survivors who don't even have the perk equipped as long as an obsession exists
    9. All four survivors can now use the perk to its full potential

DS wasn't ""nerfed"", it was changed.

Why does DS still need to be changed? Because it's supposed to be designed to be an anti tunneling perk, and it's not only preventing tunneling, but it's also preventing Killers from earning momentum even past that. Preventing the killer from gaining momentum is why DS was changed in the first place. The rework was supposed to fix that. It did not.

The fact that it had to be turned into an "anti-tunneling" perk sounds like a killer problem, not a survivor. If a killer is tunneling me, that is preventing me from progressing into the match. Therefor, I should be able to escape. It's a once-per-match freebee. Like I said, it doesn't guarantee anything other than more time.

  • I think they should hold off for now. Maybe release another patch or two before they even release new content. There's too many things they need to fix. Plain and simple. I wouldn't be surprised if we did get a teaser soon, though.

I play a killer main and my biggest problem is finding the hatch. I'll have the game in the bag. Killed two and have one guy down. I go looking for the last person. I know they are already at the hatch. I search all over looking and 90 percent of the time cannot find it. Guy bleeds out and last survivor just goes through the hatch. Are there any tips to finding it? I know about the noise it makes already.

As a killer, I NEVER kill the 2nd-to-last person if I don't know where the hatch is. If I'm lucky and I know the last two survivors won't be able to finish the gens, I will usually try and find the hatch while either chasing one of the two, or I'll knock down one of them and slug them until I find the hatch. It's all about timing and being careful. Most of the time, it goes in my favor but sometimes they just get lucky and find it. Sucks that you only get 250 points for closing it..

  • It's embarrassing, to say the least. So yes, don't ever react like this. Or, if anything, just take a break if you feel yourself getting angry.

i think opening the gate prevents the bp farming? maybe ill stop doing that when i get demolished.

Yes, I will usually 99% a gate and hover around the area unless the killer is coming my way. Then I can either dip or continue to farm a little. I've gotten myself hooked for doing that so I try and be careful, either way.

  • To me, a game is about how many BP I get, not necessarily pip'ing. If the game is going by way too quickly, I'll farm a little. Whether that means baiting the killer, cleansing totems, etc. To me, a fast game isn't fun, it's just a waste of time, ironically enough.

  • Yes, I believe the Oni is the Spirit's great-great-great-great Grandfather (might be missing a "great" in there).

  • @YaiPa said:

Can wait to see what they broke :)

I literally came to post this. It's sad that this is what we have to think about whenever a new patch is released. You know the quote "when one door closes, another one opens". Well, both doors are locked and the house is on fire. Good luck!

  • To those that say both, they are just adding onto the laundry list of things they need to change / fix. I would honestly prefer them to focus on the bugs AND do some re-work of the maps since they've already done it for Lery's. OR, if you want new "content", they can do more events or maybe even fix the rift so that I'm not forced to buy a battle pass to actually get good cosmetics. The rift is a joke since if you aren't on the battle pass, you barely get anything.. That's a slap in the face.

I read Rin's lore and we know nothing about her father except he was fired amd killed his family because yes.

Never read the Yamaoka's estate lore before ,but yes its 100% her ancestor the next killer ,c'mon xD

I never read it either until after I saw a comment on youtube confirming what the wiki said. It's 100% her ancestor, no question. Unless DBD f's up the lore and makes it her father. smh

  • @Andreyu44 said:

We know nothing about Rin's father nor her ancestor.

So who cares if its her father or mother in law ? lol

Actually... we do.. Read Rin's lore (for info on her father) and the Yamoaka's estate lore (for info on her ancestor). Here, I'll even be a good boy and link both wiki's to you:

    https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Rin_Yamaoka https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Yamaoka_Estate

  • This is a horrible idea. I understand perfectly where you are coming from, but this isn't something that should ever be implemented. While the game, IMO, is biased on killers, you still have to give the survivors A CHANCE to escape... Being able to regress a door is ridiculous when you already have the option of regressing a gen (and the killer perk: pop goes the weasel).

Ultimately, you have plenty of opportunities to prevent them from opening those doors, but also to prevent them from even finishing all 5 gens. And before you ask, I also main as killer and this idea is poo poo. Sorry..

  • I had to laugh. But even poor ghostface was confused... :(

    image.png

  • @Pugpablo123 said:

It would be cool if the killer was a able to peak around the corner and wave at survivors.

Ghostface can peak around a corner to stalk, but he can't wave unfortunately. :(

  • Honestly, the whisper system is NOT a bad idea at all. That could come in handy, especially when you are trying to tell another survivor to F off if they keep screwing up on a gen. Pointing doesn't do justice, from my experience.

  • @Peasant said:

@lazytension If you're this worked up over HEX: Totems then just run the appropriate perks and items.

For Items, you're best off using a (Green) Map with the Red Twine and Retardant Jelly or Map Addendum add-ons. The (Green) Map is the cheapest map so if you die there's no need to be too upset. The Offerings focus on tracking Killer offerings (Hooks and Totems) and increasing the time you can "use" the map.

For perks, Detective's Hunch exists and will show you the auras of totems near a generator that you complete, but that requires the SAW DLC and that you repair a generator. Instead, use Small Game to just hear a "PING" whenever you look in the direction of traps or totems within a 45° cone that extends 12 meters. Sure it'll pick up traps as well, but who cares, it's a base perk that you don't need to unlock as a teachable so what did you expect?

Then, just walk around the map and look where you think totems could be. Listen for "PING"s and then walk towards them, carefully. Additionally, you can use your map for a similar purpose. Just walk around the map and look for the "Map Scout" event that you'll see periodically. Then every 30-60 seconds check the map and see if any totems have been revealed.

Finally, take screenshots if you can of each totem spot. Then, eventually you'll have a full album of all possible totem spots and you'll never have trouble finding them again.

If you're worried about throwing maps away with possible deaths, save maps for when you have the Hawkin's Map offering.

Thanks for the reply. However, when you say "worked up", I'm not worked up that there is a hex totem (..okay, maybe just a little). I'm worked up that it takes 4 people to look for it and die in the process, and the ultimate outcome is that we still hadn't found it. Since I also main as killer, the hex totems should not be right in your face, but also shouldn't be impossible to find. My "theory" is that the hex totem never spawned because, again, we looked EVERYWHERE. However, I'm not really seeing any other posts about it so it's possible my theory is just that.

I also appreciate your reply with the different perks and add-ons to use. I was aware of the map add-ons but not the perks. I'll have to look into those.

  • Thanks for the unhelpful comment, bud.
