Whining about DC penalty is why I despise this community. When you get 4 escape it's "GG ez baby killer lol" but when he tries 4K suddenly he's sweaty tryhard camper tunneler so the only counter is IQ300 DC tech...
-
Which makes this game's issues even more baffling ;p
-
Lol sound is still messed up. Sometimes you can hear them, sometimes they all have bonus iron will. But hey, it will be addressed...sometime...maybe. Good to see that such game breaking bugs are fixed asap....

I don't know whether to thank you for being so kind or to slap you for your oozing sarcasm.
Yeah kinda hard to read on the interwebz. Take your shot. Live or die. Make your choice.
-
Congratulations. You are one of the elite 20% of true killers. You've risen above the pleb and into true greatness. I tip my fedora to you oh mighty.
I love this weird "no ruin" and "git gut" flex.
-
I'd nerf them all as they are annoying to survivors. Replace killer weapons with bloodpoints dispensers.
-
Ah, another "git gud" post. Yeah I'm one of the elite 20% real red rank killers who can easily 4k every game no perks no addons. 80% of fake pleb killers should learn to play and pressur geens.
DS, BT on the other hand are not carrying anyone and are pretty weak perks. Hell, they are basically useless to survivors.
Also, new Ruin is trash tier. If you pair it up with surveillance it's kinda usable on mobile killers as long as Ruin stays alive. It's as strong as gen kick. If you leave a kicked gen forever it will also degen (shockingly).
-
Ooof today's games. Slug and camp fiesta. Super fun as a survivor...
-
Making DLC characters part of Tome challenges is kinda of a dogdy move in my opinion. Unless they give all people access to these for the rift's duration.
-
Don't worry, they will remove ranks soon.
-
They are basically set on changing ruin. I've read somewhere that they are happy with how it works now, so yeah. As for devs "understanding old and new ruin", thanks I needed a good laugh. If by understanding ruin you mean saying that it was annoying to survivors and now it will be a late game perk then definitely, they understand a lot...
Some people are done being chill about every stupid thing that happens here.
"Trust them, they know what they're doing" approach will no longer work cause enough is enough.
-
Just git gud or pressure 4 gens at once.
But in all seriousness, yeah. They have to be delusional to murder ruin. It's not even a nerf as it's now a completely different (dead) perk. But hey! It was annoying to survivors so shut up. I already see increase in knockout slug builds. It's super fun when I get 1 hooked as a survivor.
Billy will get nerfed next cause he's also not fun...
-
What I personally hate about ruin changes the most, is that they have completely reworked it and changed its purpose. It was an early game slowdown perk and now it's *cough* mid-late game clutch perk. So basically we're forced to CI.
But hey! I guess baby killers should git gut and adapt....
-
They can't un-nerf it. It was nerfed cause it allowed infinites due to terrible map design. So the obvious fix is to gut a perk and leave questionable map design untouched.
-
I think I was able to hear something yesterday. (PC) more tests required
-
Yeah they do listen. Look how quickly they fixed the sound issue. Oh wait....

Except when it comes to survivor who need to hit a great skillcheck, that is really too difficult.
Now I can't get a read on if you're trolling or not. If you're able to hit around 50% of greats you can easily power through ruin, adding 10ish seconds to total gen time. Or even hitting no greats, you will still do gen.
Not hitting great check on ruin slows down the gen, the punishment is not that severe. It is not uncommon to do 5 gens with ruin.
-
Totally agree. Too bad remaking maps takes longer than just nerfing a perk and be done with it. (Hi balanced landing). Matchmaking and ranking system in this game is so broken that's hilarious.

Yeah, but this is something which does not apply to "Ruin gone" or "Ruin not gone". This is simply the amount of Pressure a Killer can apply. This has so many factors, of course the Killers Skill and the Survivor Skill (if the Survivors are better, they also should win. Only because Killer is the Powerrole should not mean that they should win every game). But also the Maps and those are the biggest factor IMO. There is no interaction between Killer and Survivor and a Gen can be done without any interaction happening, because the Killer needs to cross the Map.
But I would say, this has nothing to do with Ruin. You will have a hard time on lets say Disturbance Ward with or without Ruin, because of the size and that stupid Building in the middle. Had one of those games recently, outplaying them at every structure, but once they ran to that building, I needed to let them go there, because I would waste too much time (which again, would lower my pressure). I dont blame Survivors for that, if I am there, I use it myself. But those are things that need change.
And well, like you said, if the Map is small, it does not really matter. e.g. Wreckers Yard, pretty good Map for Killer, small, and some of the worst Totem Spots (like almost all Totems are in T/L-Walls, often enough next to Gens). You can have a pretty good game on that Map even without Ruin (or gone early because it needs to spawn on one of the most obvious places).

In the more recent stats it was Number 3:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/805/9043SBN98C7Z.png
Only outclassed by Haddonfield (which still sucks, even after the BL-Nerf, so everyone who was happy about that will hopefully have a good time on Haddonfield now.../s) and Cowshed, which can have the most stupid RNG (Cow-Loop into Jungle Gym into Long Wall Into Check into Long Wall into Long Wall into Jungle Gym...).
I mean, not every Map needs to suck like Hawkins when it comes to Pallets (there are two safe Pallets, the rest is pure #########), but I feel that Badham has a good value of Pallets. A lot of them, mostly unsafe, but with safe Pallets in the Buildings. Rotten Fields is also not really enjoyable as Survivor, at least for me, because the only advantage it brings is the size. The Map itself is horrible with the giant Deadzones.
If they would rework a lot of Maps (and I really hope for the new Roadmap to have less chapters and also some game health patches), there could be so much more. Like from those 6 Maps displayed here, all 6 need to be reworked (with Lerys getting it already). Even the Game is not a good map, it is boring to play, because there are mostly safe Pallets and no Vaults, so you can only loop Pallet after Pallet... And it only really benefits the Killer for the size and the Totem Spawns, and if you are not running Ruin (like me), you need to deal with the shitload of safe Pallets without any real benefit.
So yeah, Maps are the problem, not Gens and not Ruin.
Thank you! Maps are the real issue.
Devs prefer to nerf perks cause its easier than reworking map. Same was with balanced landing. Heavily abused on Haddonfield and created broken near infinites on Hawkins. Solution? Nerf the perk. As we can see, BL nerf didn't do crap for Haddonfield survival rates. Maybe perks are not the issue?
Ruin helped with early pressure so that you could afford 1-2 more slightly longer chases. It was a gamble, helping very little on small maps and quite strong on bigger maps (if lasted for about 2 mins)

@Wubsyy__ said:
Ruin was never necessary. I'm a purple rank killer and I play killers like wraith and legion without ruin all the time and still get 3-4k's. People who need ruin to slow the game for them are either getting outplayed by well-hiding survivors, chasing the same one person for too long, or not playing to their advantages
Lol so you're saying the good old "GiT gUt". I guess 80% of red rank killers are just horrible and you are a dbd god.

In high level play, Moris are basically a gamble. Half the time, a survivor DCs, so the game doesn't start, a quarter of the time, you don't catch the same person twice since the survivors know to genrush to oblivion to counter you, and the last quarter you actually get one or two, never all 4 with an ebony.
NOED, as @Outland described, is not a guarantee, especially in high ranks where people will break all totems they see. You are running with only 3 perks (that's if you don't use Blood Warden or Remember Me, or any number of semi-useless killer perks.
I agree with both points. That's why Mori is super anti-fun. Noed is basically "try to desperately get 1k before being clicked and teabagged to death"

It says three key issues not one key issue, thereby they didn't make the change just because of new players which means they had other reasons which means my first comment was valid... Do you know the difference between three key issues and one key issue buddy?
First, I am not your buddy, pal.
Great, you won the debate team. It's not 100% because of new players. I tip my fedora to you sir.

I asked: where did they say that the changes were made for new players? I read the patch notes and they didn't mention anything about "new survivors" that's literally all I asked because that's what you said and it makes no sense. You're assuming something and it's dumb🤣
The reality is they made these changes because they want to make the game easier for survivors regardless of how experienced they are and yes only people who've played both sides can be talking about balancing the game. If you don't know how both sides work how are you gonna know if the game is balanced or not? Hello? Anybody home? Think McFly think
The new players bit is literally #1 reason on ruin change.
Qte
Three key issues were identified:
- Its punishment of new players or those who can't hit Great Skill Checks. Newer players trying to help veterans with generator repairs tend to make the situation worse rather than better
Unqte
-
Ok so basically
1. Bring the broken not fun Mori every game. Not to mention NOED which is super fun as it rewards killer for doing nothing whole game. Similar to hatch rly.
2. & 3. Use only god tier killer and perks like a tryhard.
Great. Where's my fun?

Hatch and keys are also a pretty broken concept. Imagine being able to win even though you did absolutely nothing the entire match simply because you found an escape door.
Agreed. Hatch is stupid but keys are downright broken.

You know what else seems like a broken concept? Gens being so quick to repair, that on a large map, a gen will be done by the time you get across the map with a non mobile killer like Trapper or Myers. So, we tunnel the crap out of, and eliminate one person ASAP. Whether that be by mori, or just plain tunnel. Mori's are quicker, however.
A lot of killers will be doing this going forward, with this ruin nerf.
Yeah I agree. Incoming"just git gut pressure gens" comments. My point is I don't like using mori very much and now I will practically be forced to.
-
@Actually_Jesus said:

Ahh! But that's where you're only partially correct! At brown and yellow ranks, you can pip by mori-ing everyone! The conditions change at different ranks.
So all those new players with Mori's can have a good time! It's important for new players to have fun!
Real talk though - take a green mori, tunnel them until they are mori-able, now you have pressure.
Yeah but still getting Mori (even green one) just so you can apply sufficient pressure seems like quite a broken concept.

Unfortunately that would actually be the matchmaking system working as intended! its designed to be +/-6 ranks. So at rank 5 you coukd be matched with anything from rank 1 to rank 11. As bad as that system is, the matchmaking is pairing up people far outside those parameters!
+/- 6 ranks is 30% of total ranks. Also the difference between rank 1 game and rank 11 game is unbelievable. Getting rank 11 and lower means that I will at least get at least 3k with meme builds. Playing vs ranks 10-20 as a purple/red killer is just sad for both parties.
Same goes for survivor. As a red ranked survivor I can get rank 20 killer which is both unentertaining for me and a disaster for him.
Bottom line, I agree, matchmaking is a joke.
-
Big brains plays. Can't complain bout matchmaking if you can't see rank :D.
I personally deranked as killer from red 4 to purple 5 but I still get 4 rank 1 survivors. So it's pointless. I just embrace the sweat.
-
@Actually_Jesus said:
Don't even worry about survivors fun. The fact is, survivors are rejoicing (for the most part) that ruin is gone, and therefore don't give two squirts of piss about your fun. Tunnel them, camp them, mori them. Do what you want/need to do to win.
Personally, Mori is the most anti-fun killer thing possible. Plus it punishes killer, ez displeased.
-
As a red rank survivor I sometimes get rank 15 killer. Got a baby 20 nurse once. Must've been rly fun for them. Great way to ease someone into the game.
I stayed purple killer hoping for the games to be less sweaty but still getting 4 red toolbox genfest. Gens fly with current ruin, they will melt without it.

I think that was in response to the same ridiculous assumption that many killer mains have here.
"Oh you said something I don't agree with, you must be a rank 20!"
and then they get clapped back and you never hear from them again.
The guy literally called legion great and said that face camping is a valid 4k strat.
-
Balance Landing got nerfed cause it was basically broken on Hawking. Perk itself was always fine. It's not our fault that designers decided to make infinites possible again on that map.
-
@DanteMorello said:
Well the nerf is good for lower rank survivors who often got stomped and which is the majority of the player base...
Low rank survivors are stomped by perkless clown, does that mean we should nerf clown?
-
Hmmmm tough one.... Hitboxes are inconsistent, matchmaking is trash and sound is messed up... One of these three ;D
-
I literally am at a point of nearly throwing up after reading another "surveillance+new ruin super op". Assuming the totem lasts for more than 3mins this op combo still gives you so very little as compared to solo surveillance. You block a perk slot to maybe save you a gen kick or two...
-
Decent bait. 6/10. Little too obvious.
-
@Xerge said:
I'm pretty sure people need to complain, if they didn't how would the devs know the changes aren't being approved by the players?
Not that they care but true. We can't just go silently into the gentle night.
-
0/10 overused and too obvious rank 20 bait, tru3 said ruin is trash.
-
Oi mate, dedicated servers go both ways. Maybe you'll get a grab maybe the survivor is in a different dimension already.
"Face camping for easy kills" nice rank 20 bait. If you try to face camp on red/purple you will get a whopping one kill, ez displeased.
I will not comment upon calling lowest tier killer super strong and easy.

@shards said:
You like to call people you disagree with survivor mains lol😆
I have played 3k hours (both sides). I can play without ruin just fine
Honestly just take another slow down perk. There are plenty to choose from. You dont have to be that spirit with ruin dying light weasel etc. I bet you will become comfortable trying new perks after 10 matches. New ruin is not that bad either. Killer kids like to create this air of victimhood but killer is much easier to play now than it was a year or two ago
So the perk that is used by apparently 80% of killers gets gutted and the simple easy solution is to .... Just take another slowdown perk. Then what? Wait for corrupt to be gutted as well as it will be too popular?
Super easy ways to go about nerfed ruin:
"Jhust apphly pressur"
"gIt gUd"
"Play survivor"
"Run other perks"
Fun xD
-
Hahahahahah 500 iq post from a survivor main. Just apply pressure to all gens at the same time.
New ruin accomplishes nothing more than a gen kick does, and we all know how super op non-pop gen kick is.
Regression is extremely slow, laughable really. You'll have to leave the gen alone for like 20 secs for it to be noticeable.
Also this perk does nothing for the first minute of the game where slow build-up killers needed it the most. Now players who can hit hard skill checks will melt through gens even faster.
Corrupt Intervention will now be used in 80% of builds so I guess devs will have to murder that perk as well. Can't imagine just giving up 2 gens for free without corrupt. Games will have to be way more sweaty.
You mentioned mindbreaker and ,(cough) dying light. These are such trash tier perks that even mentioning them is a disgrace. I'd rather run no perks at all.
-
I mean making sound was found out to be annoying to survivors, especially on lower ranks. I think survivors should be making 0 sound no matter what and killers should have a ghetto boombox blasting all the time.
-
Actually tested the "op ruin surveillance combo"
@Peanits said:
The worst that comes to mind is combining it with Surveillance. Any time a generator is being worked on, I would know. The instant you get off it, I'd know. Normally cleansing Ruin is the only way to counter that, so removing the hex aspect means that the killer always knows where you are and has no counter.
So, it's just regular surveillance + saving me a gen kick. Top tier perk combination, rly op.
-
I mean they are nerfing things cause they are annoying for survivors. As a survivor I find most killer perks annoying. Why not get rid of them?
