You're kidding right? While there is plenty of us vs them on here the amount of killer complaint threads absolutely dwarfs survivor ones. Not a day goes by without at least 2 or 3 nerf DH/DH is unfair threads. Same with CoH, maps, and gen speeds.
Tbf COH and DH does need a change, so does the game map...

Could be wrong but lol is this a response to a similar discussion that was created a few days ago about killers?
Not that I'm aware lol, just I dont want mmr to become more strict than the base one we have now (ignoring all tests).
I just got 0 enjoyment from either role during those tests and if that becomes to new base I'm out. Only playing again (off the tests) have I realised how much better this is for both roles

@StarLost said:
Yes. You made a thread asking for less strict MMR controls...because somehow that would make the matches more balanced. Other people came in to point out that this was bass ackwards. Including killer mains like myself.
Regarding the 'weaker killers/MMR' thing, if the system is working correctly those weaker killers will end up at a lower MMR, facing weaker survivors. Now that's not ideal, as it means high MMR play will be wall to wall Nurse, Blight and Huntress - but high MMR in most games tends to have a pretty ossified meta, as the best players will generally bring the best stuff. You can't fix this by making MMR looser - you have to either buff the weaker killers (better) or nerf the strongest killers (worse).
If you're stomping killers, it's not because MMR is strict - each killer on your roster has their own MMR - it's because the matchmaking system pooped itself.
No, I'm on about the tests (except day 1) being too strict and no fun.
And see just because it's an easy win you assume the killer was misplaced... when in reality most killers just lose when they verse a good bunch of survivors that can all loop and are gen efficient.
I'm asking for the MMR NOT to change, not to be made easier. At least in the current SBMM it's not as limited killers (still limited but some are mixed in) and killer while you still have to sweat to win at least its possible and not every game is filled with amazing loopers and gen efficient players.
Not asking for easier killer games, not even asking for mmr to be easier. Im asking for it not to get stricter (like the tests)

I'm not sure what you're saying, to be honest.
If MMR is working correctly, a lot of these issues fix themselves. Each killer you own has their own MMR, so if you're not great with one killer you'll face similarly not great survivors, and if you're amazing with one killer you'll face amazing survivors on that killer.
Less strict MMR creates a wider range of players - which is awesome for veterans, as they can do what the hell they want and still win. But it sucks for everyone else.
Those '100 wins with no addons' streaks were fun, but came at the expense of a lot of less experienced players getting steamrolled.
Actually shared mmr is a thing, meaning I'd have to loose loads of games as each killer. Not to mention theres no cap so it could tttaakeee over 100 loses just to get to a fun spot.
But all the strict mmr tests did is make survivor easy for XX escapes in a row.
What I'm asking is to leave SBMM how it is and not make it stricter... or I'd just stop playing as theres no fun to be had either side

Thing is - if you want 'balance', then shouldn't you want stricter MMR controls? As in - facing and being matched with people closer to your skill?
I know that's what I want. It's almost as frustrating to face a potato team as it is to face a SWF nightmare squad.
I'm just not seeing how you reckon a less 'strict' MMR matchmaker will lead to more fair games. Shouldn't it be the exact opposite?
Because it's not fun, this game will never be balanced especially when the current MMR system exists.
Just when you make it too strict is when the fun goes for all roles, I dont want games over in 5mins or to easily escape every game.
Fact is so much needs to change before a strict mmr should even be allowed, even then I dont just wanna verse so fee killers because I'm "good" yano?

I agree but there is the biggest problem how do you balance every map for the nurse who can skip the pallet or walls? The legion is laughably weak because even with the power to jump the pallet they still have to cross the pallet. I agree that honestly survivor matches can be laughably easy against some killers the higher the MMR the more likely you are to face Nurse and Blight and not much else. This also means that these survivors may have a problem with killers they haven't versed in a long time. I find that my SWF team dies more to the Hag then any other killer because though she feels like a weak killer she can completely shut down saves with her poxey teleport camping. Crouching only works well to get to them but if she is proxy camping which they almost always are its impossible to stay crouched and walk away. Honestly many killers just don't have enough gen pressure or anti-looping to be powerful in the meta.
I'm just saying even with nurse and blight being so common in my games, having the strict mmr just made them more common and even they became weak. While I dont agree with the current mmr I'd rather this than nearly all the tests they tried.
I stopped playing this game for awhile and came back (a little while ago now) I'm currently sitting somewhere between 74-80odd% escape rate as a solo in my 240 odd games, And most of the losses was due to a DC or a completely miss matched game of teammates.
Imagine my escape rate if I get better team mates... just saying I wont play if I dont verse a mixture of killers

Survivor mains. Have you just been reading Sluzzy's posts or something?
Nah just any topic discussing why strict mmr is bad from a high mmr point of view just gets back lashed.
Everyone assumes I want easy killer games when in reality I want more fun killer games (ones where all killers can get multiple hooks) and survivor to be harder and a wider mix of killers to verse. All these strict tests showed me is how boring survivor is when I have a team that can all play at my skill
-
@DriplordDrew said:
I agree that low tier Killers but the problem is how you would go about inflating them? Smaller maps the number of times I have randomly spawned on Midwitch (only an example) and you hear the nurse and 1-3 other survivors simply D/C because nurse on such a small map is impossible to play against cause she is just to mobile. Any buff you give to a killer she will be able to run with it even more if its for all and not just the killer them self. I don't think there are that many bad players on here cause they either don't care about the game or have quit cause its to 'Hard'. I find I have became better at looping nurses who are not sweat players but still struggle with blight.
But I shouldn't escape every killer so easily, and I certainly wont play if I verse so limited killers. They either leave mmr how it is, change the system completely or go through every single map and make sure its balanced.
I dont think it's a crime to want survivor games harder while still seeing the whole killer roster. Even if I get the odd weak teammates at least I can have fun versing all killers.

I would assume so, if not please point me in the direction where players dont want mega strict mmr so survivor is nurse/blight or stomping on everyone just because they're a weaker killer

Not saying there aren't terrible survivor mains, but from my experience interacting it just feels like there's more on the killer side.
Tbf there are more killer issues, and there certainly is alot of killers that complain about stupid things but that's for both sides, the amount of times I see nerf BBQ when talking about nerfing DH or something is unreal lol

Probably due to mmr testing strict so theres been more complaints. I just dont get why people never get my reasoning. The mmr tests was even easier than the current one, I shouldn't be Escaping near every game and the killers getting so few hooks.

But you did imply that you’re not having fun as a killer because you’re not winning as often when you “play casually”.
Guess you ignored the whole survivor section... it's not about having easy games it's about having ones that are fun and possible as any killer... survivor is lame at high mmr, especially when strict... to easy.
@StarLost said:
I'm confused.
So...you want to face easier survivors because that's more 'fun' for you?
Thing is - is that fun for them?
Want balance. I know everyone wants survivors to be OP but I dont. I'd like to verse other killers besides the few I mentioned...
-
@dugman said:
Obviously if your MMR is currently really high then you should be playing against survivors with really high MMR, and if you are then why would you expect to be able to easily do well against skilled players using optimal loadouts if you are not also as skilled and using as optimal a loadout? Nothing prevents you from playing using whatever you want to use, and if you do play suboptimally “for fun” that’s perfectly ok, but it’s unreasonable to expect to not lose games and have a lower MMR and face lower MMR survivors as a result.
This notion that as a killer I should be able to play using literally any loadout and just kind of chilling as I go without strategically thinking about what I’m doing but still win enough games to maintain a high MMR doesn’t wash. Just play how you want, take the short term losses if the way you want to play isn’t the best strategy and setup, and eventually your MMR will put you against survivors that you can still beat that way. If you only have “fun” when literally you win all the time then that’s not a problem with the system.
Didnt say any of that though did I? I didnt mention once in this post I should win every game or be able to win with no perks (or bad ones).
I said it's not fun for either side, and the games should be fun regardless of the side I play. I gave example why each side sucks at high mmr and making the mmr strict just highlights that issue.
Games should be fun. I also stated it shouldn't be an easy win for either side.

Me too, it's a shame it comes to wanting that. It's one reason I never want a pc for gaming, screw dealing with cheaters on every game.
Had to turn crossplay of on tiny tinas wonderlands to stop people with hacked/modded gear joining

I just had my first killer game today and it was just miserable. A premade team of rank 1 survivors that bodyblock me and taking hits for eachother. Gens rushed in under 10 min with me chasing them all the time. The game was so stressful and unfun. I think I am starting to understand ppl that use cheats when playing killers. SWF parties should be eliminated from this game and the game would finally be balanced. This is just disgusting.
Tests arent on (only reason I'm playing)
More survivors cheat, think theure smart being subtle.
Survivor is the power role I dunno what to tell you, even with the strict tests off I'm destroying killers as a solo...
EDIT: maybe we versed each other? Who was you?
-
Yeah, its times like this I wish I could opt out of the PC platforms. It's kinda sad I even have to think that but sadly PC tends to just ruin the experience due to the mass amount of cheaters, this goes for any game even coop ones...
The worst part is how can people with game knowledge identify people cheating, even when they're subtle about it but a system cant?
I thought a system to track the obvious hackers would be simple, or even to track the players stacking the same perk or running more than 4.
Seems to me not enough time is spent on anti cheat, and it to the point you deal with it or stop playing or you'll wait ages with Crossplay off
-
Yeah it's a lie.
Basically you will be put at a rating very close to your highest killer. And if you're really high then you will have to lose loads of matches, and I mean loads.
It's a bad system in the first place, count only kills especially. But the shared mmr or no slight decrease in mmr if you haven't played in ages... sucks..
-
Nah, other boons dont need to be nerfed. COH is the only one causing an issue, while each boon could have a separate number of token (this would be confusing for new players) this still doesnt fix the bigger issues with a perk like COH.
Nice idea but not any good.

While I agree the RNG should be removed I don't think it should be that way, as it is now searching boxes can feel tense and you just hope it can be that next box or you're screwed
What I think it should be, is 10 boxes need to be searched spread across each Survivor, so maybe you'll get a 3/4/2/1, maybe 4/4/2/2, 1/3/3/3, etc. This way it adds a bit more consistency to her slow down
As for her ambush, no idea what they could do for that
Even that idea you suggested is good, just the rng kills it for me to the point theres no point in playing her.
Maybe I'm different to others as when I'm searching boxes I dont get tense at most I'd be like "let me guess itll be the last box" then I'll either die and go "boring, killed by rng and no gameplay" or "oh it wasnt the last box for a change" lol.
Honestly they could do a few things from the distance slightly increased or just making her move faster crouched would be a start.
Cant say I ever verse pig, if it wasnt for the tome I wouldn't of seen one in ages (like doctor who I haven't seen in months). I'm up for some pig improvements either way
-
Petition to remove MMR so I see trickster (and other killers more)
-
Personally I just want the rng removed. Rather have it take 3box searches (any 3) to remove it, like every box has a key and you need 3.
The rng is what ruins it for me, everyone gets it off on the first/second search and that mixed with her awful dash meh.
I get at a lower mmr her dash could be good or if you have great luck with rng she may be abit better but for me pig is one of the worst killers

So I could hop on Sunday and itd be back to normal?
And I already left feedback, I just meant if anyone one the forums was interested they could check it out.
Thanks for the reply as always!

Rather the distance gone.
The distance part is what hurts basic attack killers most and this just leaves it in.
While your idea for no mither is cool, I want the distance gone not just as a killer but as a survivor. The sooner the distance goes the sooner some of the weaker killers can climb up abit in mmr and allow a wider killer range to be seen
-
Got worse, if any tests other than day 1 happen I'll just uninstall.
Every day has been easy AF survivor games unless it's a nurse who just tunnels and killers been so miserable I cant play half the roster
-
Killer assumes you're hating as that's all they get every game... not that I blame them the hate you get for playing killer is stupid. While you may of not meant it in a mean way he took it that way as hes so used to it.
Imagine a perk being so meta killers always have to try bait it out lol, but we all know DH needs a change and I cant wait. Will improve games as either side for me
-
@Munqaxus said:

No, what I'm saying is a killer will tunnel-you-off-hook-till-dead even if there hasn't been a single gen done. Hopefully you can run the killer for 5 gens if they decide to do that but you need Decisive Strike and probably Borrowed Time to punish the killer enough for doing that or the killer wins the game.
I never used BT, but that playstyle is forced at the higher level especially on weaker killers or on certain maps. Is it lame, boring and annoying? Hell yeah, but you cant blame them when the balance is meh and they make a SBMM based on kills only.
Will always say balance for hooks, hooks should be encouraged and rewarded while we punish those who full on face camp
-
@Munqaxus said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/317082/otz-mmr-test-and-opinion
For survivors, yes.
At high MMR you are forced to play certain perks or you lose. You have to play Decisive Strike, because it's the only perk that allows you to counter tunneling-off-hook-till-dead at gen 5. You have to play Borrowed Time because it's the only perk that allows you to counter Face-Camping/Camping in general at gen 5. You have to have an endurance perk so you can extend chases. That really only leaves 1 perk slot you can play around with. It's an extremely stale meta that has been the exact same for 4 years.
With the CoH nerf, I wouldn't be surprised Adrenaline takes it's place.
If you're tunneled out at 5 gens you arent high mmr... sorry but either you're going down so fast you arent high mmr or your team is so bad they cant hold a button on a gen and if that's common you also arent high mmr.
Meta is boring yes, versing little range of killers is boring yes. But killers use more perks than survivors at high mmr

the problem is not playing with Corrupt is the fact that im FORCED to play with a perk just to get a chance
u get me?
Yeah killers always been that way, admittedly I was unlucky before SBMM as I play at off peak times but it's just the way it is and will always be when matchmaking is a thing. I dont run perks for fun, I run them so I have a chance to play and possibly have fun in my killer matches.

seriously i don't wanna play nurse, i wanna enjoy my nemsis, my pyramid head, i wanna have something else beside Noed 99% of the time, this is really unfair, and just depression like hell
Either play toxic and get toxicity from survivors or play as u are suppose to play and get bagged at the door
there is just no solution is there
Actually there is a solution, see ya in June, i got my auric cells for the next killer i might as well forget about this game for a while
Have "Fun" everyone
Corrupt. Without it gens will go fast

It did snow today...
Doesnt mean much, I'm in the uk so it's been sunny, snowed, hailed and rained today 🙄 might be a sign? Lol

First day test was great as killer, the rest have been painful? I guess you could say.
I'm just not having fun or feel I'm allowed to play in a way I want and even do somewhat well.
I hate they did this on the last week of the rift, been so busy on other games im behind on the rift and I really dont wanna play killer lol. I'm still playing to collect data but I'm not having much fun.
Tbf even survivors been getting worse, first test went well, 2nd stomped every killer that wasnt nurse and now I just see nurse/blight every game which is also boring
Edit: ranks mean nothing btw, mmr is hidden

I'm not sure how much you know of it yet, but if you have questions feel free to ask.

Circle of Healing nerfed to the ground.
Outside of that we got no new survivor perk for years.
If anything was a little usefull, then killer main streamers demanded nerfs, and new perks or buffed ones never made it into the meta.
Anyone remember Lucky Break? How streamers cried and got it nerfed. Never used because the pitiful timer.
Boil Over? Nerfed to please the streamers, now only usable in a very specific map with swf on comms.
Parental guidance nerfed before the release, useless.
Circle of Healing? Gone, maybe swf can make it work with great effort.
Meanwhile killers getting meta perks with every release.
The game losing playerbase because survivors can't take it anymore the never ending nerfs, and infinite buffs for killers.
What I see less solo, and more SWF, game bleeding survivor playerbase.
The only way is fun for survivors being on the comms.
What's the use for new survivor perks if always be useless?
Just release 6 killer perk LOL, at least every perk will be meta. Only killers allowed to have fun.
Just wait and see after Dead Hard nerfed, what will happen with playerbase
Lucky break was nerfed due to its effects lasting so long it gave multiple perks in one with 0 downside. It gave too much freedom and was changed time wise (like pop)
Boil over, didnt need to be swf. Having a perk that makes certain areas unhookable is bad gameplay just in itself and needed a change.
COH had infinite, fast, big range through multiple floors and only one survivor needed to run it. I personally would of done it slighty differently but once again was needed.
Survivor gets alot of good perks, the only reason so many perks dont get used is you cant beat already insanely strong perks. DS, DH, BT, UB etc. Will likely always be meta but COH but all perks you're on about became meta through unfair mechanics.
Survivors arent leaving, killers are. While there should be 4 survivors to 1 killer its actually way higher than that, it's why the devs are actually making these changes and trying to find ways to encourage more people to play killer.
And is the survivor population drops over 1 perk getting nerfed (DH) doesnt that just show how much they rely on it and how broken it is? I personally cant wait for the DH change even as a survivor, why? Because more killers will climb MMR and I'll see a wider range.

When killer chasing for to long, about what distance u talking about, if any way he reaches u????? I think I living in another world and DH doesn't give a good distance, just only make possible SOMETIME dodge killers hit
If you cant use DH in an effective way you arent using it right, not trying to be mean but it's a insanely strong perk. Against any basic attack killer it allows you to correct a slight mistake at loops or even allows you to reach a pallet/window you normally wouldn't without it.
DH physically gives you more distance than just running, its basically a mini dash which is why it's not a very fair perk as you can use it whenever to reach a pallet/window

@dugman said:
The question to ask isn't "is NOED increasing kill rates", it's "is NOED increasing kill rates more than other good perks?" All good perks should in principle increase the average kill rate. A good slow down perk for instance gives the killer more time to kill people so their kill rate should be higher on average when they use it. Or for example if Make Your Choice or Haunted Grounds usage leads to snowball in the early game and increases the chance of a 4 kill with no gens done versus a 2 kill with the gates open then those also are increasing the kill rates.
It's not at all clear that NOED actually increases kill rates more than other perks. It's quite possible that using NOED, for instance, hurts the killer in the early and mid game enough that their average kill rate is still the same because they're getting fewer 3 kills and 4 kills using NOED compared to if they used a perk that helped them sooner in the match.
I haven't actually seen any data indicating NOED is overperforming other perks in this regard. And indeed, if it were actually doing so, it probably would have been nerfed by now. The fact it isn't nerfed to me implies the data is showing NOED isn't having a disproportionate impact on kill rate averages versus other good perks. But that's just a guess on my part, there's obviously no public data either way on it.
P.S. I rarely use NOED personally, but that's more of a playstyle preference. I like using perks that help me in the early and midgame more than the end game typically. I think the only killer I currently have NOED equipped on is Hag and that's just because I'm running an all Hex build on her for fun. 🙂
Well from my experience, obviously cant speak for everyone but the killers usually do really bad, it is often used on weaker killers (as in tiers) but iv still versed many killers who play them far better than the NOED users.
Noed is just 1 perk, these killers still have 3 perks to use and with those 3 perks they get so very little done in a match and it's only till NOED do they get more downs, hooks or even a kill.
I also feel people that just hard tunnel one person (which you'll eventually get) and then use NOED to get the next person.
While all perks help I feel noed is too impactful and definitely increases the data on kills too much. Even when the killer player isnt all that great, iv seen killers go from a 1k in game to a 4k due to slugging with NOED.
Like I said I dont mind versing the perk, just dont like what it does stat wise. Even just confirming 1 kill due to NOED will impact the stats. Let's just say in theory NOED gives 1k regardless, that makes so many games go from 0-1, 1-2, 2-3 and that's impactful when looking at overall stats especially when noed is more common on those weaker killers.
Rancor is an issue stat wise as well but no one uses it as its abit more limited compared to noed
-
Pop was nerfed... that was complained about, this shouldn't be a surprise.
Although COH definitely had alot of issues with it, I dont think anyone could say it wasnt strong though. It was a fast, unlimited heal, through walls and levels with a big radius that only 1 survivor needed.
-

It would be better if hexs didnt spawn straight away. Even if they spawn 30seconds in at least it gives abit of time.
I ran an all hex build today, they didnt even last 1minute 😂

Not correct.
I always playing with killers i did not play so much for test. Soooo. I played with Blight and Trapper. I had baby survivors with both killers. I have 2300 hours and best survivor of them had 300 hours.

Definitely not I've been getting sub-1k mates and opponents as someone with 3.4k I this one account
Interesting, from the players I could see they all had alot of hours and knew all the tiles and how to loop them. It feels so very strict today to the point I dont wanna play weaker killers.
Efficiency and good loopers is painful, especially when mixing in meta and certain maps

i didnt even get to play it
Most killers loved it, most survivors hated it 😂 felt like I was the only survivor to actually love it and do well on it

I am Nurse and Nemesis main. Nemesis loved this map. Let's not talk for Nurse.
Yeah nurse could be a challenge, tbh I dont play nurse much as I never found her that "fun". Might be because I mained her at one point and got bored

I absolutely despised it
You're a demo, your past gives you a reason to hate it lol
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
Honestly me too. And i hated this map whlle we had it.
Oh I never hated it, I get it was a hard one for survivors but if you knew the map well it wasnt too bad, had some great infinites against basic attack killers

Share some of your treasure if you have any!
I like the one "touch a girl of you're lucky" cant believe stuff like that and calling people virgins over a game still exist 😂
I'd be far more interested to see their profiles after they leave negative stuff. Sadly I'm on console so I just get stacks of hate messages, still funny though

I'd really like that to come back
It still shows something (the two bottles have different smoke patterns in their icon) but it being Yellow or Purple was so much easier to see at a glance
Agreed, certainly would help a bunch for ease of visibility that's for sure. Thrown the wrong bottles a few times now 🙄😂

Probably a bug or something
Wouldn't surprise me lol

Like, you're matched with people who played the game as much as you?
Within reason yeah, because it certainly cant be off winrate if 2 completely killers verse the same people?
