hmmm.
not sure about balance.
how do these connect to your interests outside of dbd?
When I mean not touched a gen I mean they haven't done any action in X time, like people just hiding all game.
And well I hate childish and toxic people in general, I dont get why people cant just be nice to one another. I dont hate on people or try bullying them.
And I'm always carrying stuff, in games or in life lol
-
Carrier- when teammates haven't touched a gen in awhile increase my repair speed
Get back here- when a teammates DCs they get dragged back into the match and forced to sit in a cage till the games over, any BP they was carrying is given to me
Be nice- if a survivor constantly teabags they break their legs, alternatively if they macro their flashlight it blows up. Either action puts them into the dying state
be nice to me- if a killer BMs or hits on the hook they get sent flying back and hit with a stun.
-
Playing at off peak time (the only time I can) I'm forced into long lobbies and very hard games back to back.
Theres very little room to have fun, doesnt matter which killer I play I'll verse the same people just because it's off peak time.
The fact I'm limited to my server during off peak hours hurts the games for me but I cant control that, other games allow me on other servers
-
Probably should of put this in feedback, oops

I'm pretty sure Streamer Mode in options hides names and a lot of things you want hidden.
As far as first person survivor, it's cool until you start repairing a generator. Not every killer has a terror radius.
Streamer mode only hides names in the match, great for YT terrible for streaming... its funny because even if you hide names you still get "being healed by X" in game lol

Yea I find it pretty amazing, last 3 days of solo q I havenβt even had the exit gate open, decided to switch to killer instead now
See my experience is the opposite, killer is horrible and that's why I play more survivor. The fact I was stomping on killers who wasnt nurse and blight just meant even when I played killer I had insanely good survivors as the weaker killers who also beat me pretty easily.
It's not like both roles are easy, the time I play survivor is just easier dude to every survivor being somewhat good

Did something similar awhile back with some very similar results. Was back in 2020 but a lot is still the same.
100 Solo Queue Red Rank Survivor Games Over the Last Couple Weeks β Dead By Daylight
Alongside a spreadsheet detailing every killer/perk/survival rates/DCs/etc.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LH6hVcnFBQK-xcKd4jxBqYXHDXq9fBKHTD_odgwVV2o/edit?usp=sharing
Like you mentioned, it almost always feels like its more your teammates than the Killer that is causing you to lose games. Survivors insta DCing/Suiciding, not doing anything, hookbombing, etc. but if the survivors had any sort of brains, the games were pretty easy.
60+% escape rate, running Kindred/Resilience/Small Game/Spine Chills at Red Ranks. Not even playing selfish. Always tried to take pressure off survivors with lesser health states, working generators instead of hiding when team numbers dwindled.
It's weird that there are people who doubt players who have OK escape rates as if that's impossible(like Bwsted and Marigoria in this thread). I've seen so many people who claim to never be able to escape and that having 50+ escape rate is complete bullshit... THOSE are the people I want to see stream. I don't care about your 70% escape rate OP, but THOSE people who NEVER ESCAPE. They're the ones I want to see play.
Well fact is alot of people are just very casual, or just dont play very good or efficient. I feel most people that doubt you can escape alot are people who want weaker perks nerfed or just generally arent as good as they think.
Admittedly most players also play at peak time while I play at off peak time which usually results in more competitive and "sweaty" games.
While I understand why youd want to watch people who cant escape, likely to see if your assumptions are correct about them making alot of mistakes, bad plays and just be inefficient I personally couldn't watch it.
I was trying to explain to someone else that this is just second nature to me so I dont quite understand why people people hide/dont do gens much or even look behind them
BTW thanks for the stats, I like stats
-
I never see anyone sabo anymore, I feel like I'm the only one doing it still lol.
But no it doesnt need to be nerfed.
I did have a hacker the other day who destroyed every hook permanently though, that was annoying ππ
-
It's the opposite for me, survivor= too easy and killer is the worst experience ever.
As for the killer I'd skip ghostface, hes very similar to wraith and honestly not that great. Theres better liscene character to get but I'd recommend seeing which powers you like the style of

Agreed.
I play both sides and sometimes do some cheesy/greasy plays.
I'm well aware of the issues plaguing each side as a result >_>
I just feel people forget its pvp or lack empathy, like if it was just a co-op game then it wouldn't matter but both roles are people and it should always feel fun and fair for both sides.
BHVR do try, they may be abit slow with some things and look at bad data at times but people forget both sides get changes and balancing.
I'm just waiting for people to use "legion and GF got buffed and you're nerfing survivor" as reasons

Spirit is fine. Clown, overall, is fine. Could probably be buffed, even. I don't play Clown, so I can't say whether he should or shouldn't be buffed. Pinky Finger should trump other add-ons, in the same way Iri Head does. That's all.
It's akin to Iri Head + Infantry Belt. If you can just run a second add-on to negate the downside of it, then is it really fine as is?
If his bottles downed without the need of getting a basic attack as well then maybe. But just the fact he has to hit you directly and then hit you after is very different to huntress.
I'd also add you have to use an iri and purple addon just to make it worth it and even then it's not as strong as iri huntress etc.

Iβd be really curious to see a really brief comparison eventually on how the various MMR tests went and roughly what the different settings were they tested. Itβd be interesting to hear kind of what sort of MMR variance and kill rate variances they saw in the various experiments and what they were tuning in them.
Just my own person academic curiosity really, MMR systems are kind of fascinating.

Hopefully once the tests are fully over we'll be able to share further information on what exactly was tested.
Doubtful but its be really nice if it was split into servers and maybe two 12 hour segments (4pm-4am &4am-4pm)

I'm honest about anything before hand, probably be blunt but I'm honest.
I do feel its people who main a side that get most upset when it comes to changes

For context in that 400 game sample they had something like a 70% kill rate against groups that had no Dead Hard and then each survivor that had it dropped the kill rate something like 5-10%. It was pretty dramatic.
DH is a game changer without a doubt, especially if you're a basic attack killer. It's why I cant wait for the DH distance to be gone, I might actually see more killers as they can perform better
Edit: I should know, I use it lol

My Solo-q exp is so much different than this. 72% escape? It almost imposible for my solo exp. But maybe this just me? Maybe only i have bad games as solo survivor.
Well we do have very different opinions on the game, like the recent posts on tinkerer which you think too strong while I dont second look at it and feel it has lots of counters.
But this is off peak EU, survivors are very "sweaty" and just generally pretty good, this is why my killer games have been so hard with the strict mmr tests
-
@dugman said:
Itβs too bad you didnβt have time to track the perks people were using, itβs interesting to pivot out escape rates versus counts of perks in the match. There was a post a couple months ago where someone posted a data file of 400 matches that included how many survivors ran Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, etc, which revealed a really strong correlation between Dead Hard and escape rates compared to the other perks they tracked.
I kind of wish DbD just has a public database of match results, itβs fun to fiddle around with the numbers.
Well at the start I wasnt tracking that so it was abit late to start half way through, also that's an awful lot of effort lol.
I know for certain that there was some strong perks used, but it's rare I get full meta teammates. I will add that games that went rough (still escaped alot of them) had a selfcare/urban user

I never get her while playing survivor. She is my main on killer and I would love to go against her just to see what's it's like. But I think I have only ever versed her like twice. Oh she definitely is strong, iv had some insane games cross mapping with all my shots on point.
But shes not all that fun, she can be for the odd game maybe but shes not that interesting to play. Sometimes I feel like a bot when I cant crossmap

Sorry to tag you and distract you from your busy work but I'm still having this issue?

I think I had hooks, kills, totems cleansed, boons, noed and how many kills it got, how many gens got done ect
Damn, dunno if I have that kind of commitment to it, at the start I was just curious and then continued because people was wondering if itd stay high.
I would like to do that but that means having my PC setup along side my console which just makes things jammed together.
You should definitely tag me whenever you share the stats, I like my number crunching and comparing how things are

Just by the sheer amount of dc's and suicide on hooks, I don't know how the percentage doesn't get dragged down more. Add to that all the Blights and Nurses going full meta.
Maybe I'm just unlucky in my region.
Oh, btw, I have a 99.9% escape in soloQ. Source: trust me bro.
Well I dont give up just by 1 DC. Dont get me wrong alot of games I lost was due to that but people DC over a numerous amount of stupid reasons. I did even mention one day I got on early and refused to do it again because of the players on at that time. The time I play definitely is sweaty survivors so it's not that surprising tbh.
And you dont have to believe me but I'm not someone to lie, my opinions are quite blunt and honest and I honestly dont care what people on the forums think, I continued to keep track as others was interested when I made my other post of just coming back and getting an 80% escape rate.

I'd be interested to know how expereienced you are and how you would evaluate your knowledge and your ability to carry that knowledge over into actual gameplay and execute it along with the time you had to practise (deliberately avoiding the words "skill" and "ingame hours" which seem too broad).
Well avoiding skill and hours (hours is a terrible judge of skill anyway) Its a hard one to say, even videos can be hard as alot of people arent able to determine how skillful some truly is.
I guess I would say my ability to play both roles with a consistent outcome no matter the killer I verse. I have no issue adjusting my playstyle or how to run loops depending on the killer, having a vast knowledge of perks and how they can all work I'm able to strategically work around them.
I honestly dont believe DBD is a hard game to do at all, everything is pretty basic and I'm usually someone who constantly thinks even if I'm just chilling, I'd also say gaming is second nature to me from other games I'm always doing well whether that's CTR time trials to FPS games etc. So with a simple game like DBD memorizing perks, maps, tiles and even totem spawns wasnt too hard for me. I guess reaction times can also help? But alot of loops have 0 mindgame, even more so standing at certain points

Maybe stream these solo q only matches for a few weeks consecutive, so we all (devs included) can enjoy witnessing the results with you, firsthand.
just a thought
I have thought about streaming but you have to take into account alot of things from setup as a console POV, capabilities, off peak time as well at the fact I'm pretty anti social with anxiety (hence solo Q alot) I do still think about it but theres alot, and I mean ALOT of hateful people out there and my views and opinions are quite blunt and probably not shared with most survivors. Also the devs wouldn't like it as I dont agree with their systems etc.
-
It's okay, we dont win because we are bad. Its totally not because of meta perks making all the difference especially DH.
We also arent allowed to say our true experience because people dont believe you and most of the forum plays at peak time or at a lower mmr and so their experience is different and they cant imagine it any other way..

Poor Sadako.
How many Demogorgon did you see?
Well that's just all basic attack killers, shes not the worst though.
And 1 I think, maybe that was on the recent mmr tests though. Either way 0 or 1 and he didnt manage to do all that well bless him
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
I've had a similar experience, though I haven't played Survivor in a while so maybe my escape rate would be different now that Sadako has been released
Doubtful, while I dont think shes bad (I did verse a few and I love playing her) at the end of the day shes a basic attack killer and if she dont get downs fast gens will be popping just the same. Basic attack killers always struggle the most, the only time I seen her get a killer (in my 200games) was because someone was obsessed with tapes π

Meanwhile poor clown has this built in, that mf grunts every vault he does π

I only dislike NOED and rancor in terms of boosting kill stats.
As a whole the perks arent all that and let's be honest if the whole mmr wasnt based on escapes it wouldn't be so bad
-
Ah... I see what level people are playing at if we're hating on tinkerer and thinking it's too strong...

Please suffer with me? Everyone else here seems to be enjoying the mmr and getting good matches π

-
Yeah I disagree, I haven't versed someone that cant use DH in the longest of time.
Although I'm discovering I get very sweaty games compared to alot of people but I guess that's expected during off peak times.
DH distance certainly needs to go. Would be nice to see something else used besides DH,DS,UB and COH

Ping and net code. DbD gameplay really falls apart above 70 ping, especially when you factor in crossplay. It can be a difference of 4 or 5 meters in game when you get above 150ms. NA West to EU is hilarious to watch. Extremely spicy hits.
NA gets decently tough off-peak on the weekends. But there's basically no matchmaking during the week from what I can tell. 50% chance the killer I go against even has a full load out, and I don't remember that last time the gens got done against my Nurse during the week outside of the day 3 test.
Oh cant say iv had a bad experience like that, being the times I play alot of my friends arent actually in my country so when iv done a duo before my ping was 100odd but wasnt too bad, just had to do things a little earlier but wasnt too hectic
Guessing servers and time has a massive impact on games and mmr

I really don't understand why they're so reluctant to just remove 25% of the pallets or make any changes really.
The only thing this map is good for as killer is for the "break x number of pallets" challenges.
I actually miss hawking's because of that, was such a small map but had a decent amount of pallets. Always burnt that map if I needed to drop/break pallets π

JRM is good survivor true but he lost so many times against baby killers. But this Oni had not chance. And JRM did not play good either, he just dropped all pallets early. Good survivors will run around and they will waste your more time.
Oh I know but that's my point, I made a post awhile back saying I did a 10min chase and it was on that map, I was massively misplaced and not 1 gen got done.... I was livid lol, I have not loaded the game up that early again π

Could definitely be a region/time of day thing. FWIW, I typically play peak evening hours on NA East. I definitely want to know what was changed on which day. I feel like that will answer a lot of questions
Ah see I'm EU off peak, I do miss times where EU & NA could match. Tbh that would probably help mmr and queue time as well.
Every other game let's me match with others so it's odd DBD limits us

I seem to be getting nothing but bully squads or baby squads. But the bully squads must be new because they haven't been very good at bullying (hope you four who switched to flashlights at the last second and just looped killer shack so I couldn't pick anyone up enjoyed "lie on the floor simulator" last night).
New MMR must think I suck cause my opponents seem to have no idea what they're doing.

The games have been very easy on killer outside of day 3. Day 3 were the hardest games I've had in recent memory.
I have no idea why you guys are getting easy games while I'm getting the hardest games iv ever had since release.
I'm use to pretty sweaty games but this is something else and I have no idea why I seem to be the outcast in this matter, but it's weird because survivor is also super easy for me.
Maybe it's my server or time but there has to be a reason why no matter the role I play the survivors are destroying killers
-
I mean if iv been holding in my cries of pain I may let out a little sound at the end too π
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
This map is so broken, you don't even need loop killer. Pre-drop pallets, killer can not play around because most of pallets are very strong.
Tbf if oni lunged he would of hit at the start. You also have a non experienced killer going against a good and known looper... iv done chases like this on midwhich before.
The map is very badly done though I do agree with that.
-
Having a SBMM based on only escapes is the biggest issue at hand.
I'd also take note the past few weeks have had mmr tests on, these weeks have been the most horrible for me as killer... survivors been a cake walk
-
@prion11 said:
Not perks that need changes because they are bad and useless. I'm talking about perks which are problematic in the way they affect the game. For example, dead hard, NOED, boons in general, stuff like old boil over, or it could even be a combination of perks that are problems when used together.
Give me suggestions and why you think they are problems that need addressing! I'm hoping to make a big video where I discuss them all and propose reworks for each.
DH- my argument is the distance should be gone, give to much freedom and can correct mistakes/outplays. It really punishes basic attack killers (as if they weren't weak already)
NOED/RANCOR- I honestly have no issues for these perks except the ability to boost stats massively, nothing wrong with them other than that.
COH- luckily this is being changed, not sure on the others yet. Shadow step can be a pain when its across multiple floors and a map that has loads of sight blockers (gideon being a good example)
-
Only thing I'm against is the long recovery of his power, even basic attacks remove it and make it take ages to recover....
Your power isnt that strong yet you are limited more than any other killer
-
Even the last test, I'm versing stacked survivors as my weakest killer while when playing survivor my team have 0 meta perks and we're against good nurses with meta builds.
I dont get why a good nurse (she was on point with her blinks) gets so many casual players not running meta but me playing weaker killers verse the top level players...
PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one having the worst time on killer? I'm not even exaggerating here this experience is awful...
I'd say I'd just stick to survivor but that's either a nurse/blight trying their best (which is fine) but gets boring versing the same killers or it's another killer and the games over before I know it and they get so few hooks...
Theses tests have just been antifun tests to me, as either role.
-
Yes, basically any node you dont collect can be collected at another date.
The only thing you lose out on are the fragments (you can save challenges from another tome to help you progress in another)
I still have challenges from tome 1 I forget to claim lol can still do it though
-
Nope.
Definitely not, nurse is sure alot harder to beat than blight but all it takes is an understanding and for your teammates to do stuff.
The biggest killer isnt killers its teammates that dont do objectives or chases, I have no idea what's so fun about walking round or crouching all game but there you go. Those people make you lose against the weakest of killers
-
@DBDVulture said:
Bight with certain addons is just as powerful as nurse depending on map.
DBD has a number of problems regarding balance. Generally speaking only the smallest maps are fair for killers that do not "Zoom". You can rush the generators and shift+w against most killers to cause chases to be long enough. What makes small maps fair however is that if someone is "shifting" then there is a high chance you will run past a generator being repaired.
Nurse/Blight are probably too strong but almost ever other killer is generally way too weak. Also SWF is just straight up broken in that being able to talk gives you the value of many extra perks.
Most survivor don't bother trying to loop killers like PH, Nemesis or Clown (not that clown is in the same tier but just for example sake). When a killer has strong anti loop powers the survivors just run away. This is super boring for the killer. The survivors feel this is the only counterplay for strong anti loop.
Blight is no where near nurse? Nurse ignores all walls and levels, I guess you can remove al but even still blight has so much counter play providing people learn what they are (admittedly pc blights are harder but that's because they can do more)
As for clown, nem etc. They arent strong anti loop? And you do still loop them so I'm not sure what you're on about, antiloop killers are still looped you just dont do the basic run round the loop over and over, it's the same as doctor.
Pyramid however can pre drop and then they will likely try keep you at the loop and hit you through it, this is where you play dodge and its pretty fun and effective lol

Yeah sadly killer is very rough, it is a shame theres no practice verse bots or something so you get a bit better feel of the game first, all I can suggest is you try looking for other new players and play custom games to learn abit more

I can confirm this is a bug. It won't happen every time, but sometimes it'll spawn more tiles than it's supposed to.
We haven't actually added more pallets to the House of Pain, don't worry.
Can you comment on why the building is RNG? Surely that creates an imbalance issue where one variant is much stronger than another? Or has the whole map been adjusted if it's open?
