that’ll NEVER happen. if SWF is such an issue, then just pay more attention to when survivors join tbh. I notice when 2/3 join at the same exact time it’s probably a swf.
but they’re never gonna remove swf buddy lol
Again, it's not so much an issue for me. I just don't like people lying and saying something is impossible when it's definitely not.

as ive already said you can see all players names in game. it would take 30 max to invite the team to a steam chat/ps4 group and boom you now have an instant Survive with strangers group all on coms. It would actively encourage even more teams to be on coms than now as people would do it just to gain that advantage with those who wouldn't normally do SWF.
Just learn to adapt to SWF groups they really aren't that hard to deal with
Im not complaining bud. I tunnel and rarely lose. I play how i want. Im simply offering a suggestion to what people whine about. I gave suggestions for ruin even though i never run it as well. Calm down

It'll also cut the playerbase in half, if not eradicate it.
Maybe this game done correctly is not meant to be AAA. I wonder if anyone has ever thought of that. Maybe if they realized it's a niche cult classic type they'd fix it and balance it for a smaller player base.
You're basically saying keep it the way it was by their own admission, never intended to be, for the sake of numbers.

….you do realise people can see their team mates names in the game though right? so even if they don't know each other, it wouldn't take two seconds to invite them to discord/steam chat or a console group chat...….not as simple as you think really
I literally said not changing their screen to a lobby. It's simple if you can read

And how would you like to stop swfs from teaming up? Not every multiplayer game has the option to join as team in a match, but you can bet that in every game are swfs thanks to third party programms like teamspeak as example.
Also the wish to play with your friends is just natural in a multiplayer game.
Imo, killers should be balanced after swfs, since they are the possible strongest players in every multiplayer game and so also in dbd.
Swf could be eradicated simply by not allowing friends to invite anyone. And then loading a match once all 5 players have been found, but not changing their screen to a lobby. Just go straight from searching to the loading in screen. Then the match.
This is elementary level logic. Not complicated at all.
-
You shouldn't lose points for it period. It's a strategy. A boring one, that isn't effective, but it is one still.
If you face camp you'll lose points by people doing gens and escaping. Adding an additional loss of points was done to protect survivor's fun once again.

I'm honestly tunneling as well, not only that but camping, and slugging and hitting up my mori reserves. After I used up my moris, I'm just gonna uninstall and quit the game, and play some games that actually rewards people for being good at the game instead of sucking up to new and potatoe players.
A few people said "Yikes" when I said this, but I'm just going to put my reasoning down here from a response I made:
For me it wasn't Ruin itself that makes me quit. It's the fact that they nerfed Ruin without address the issue of gens and/or maps, and the fact that the nerf was based on frustrations to play against as a new survivor and people who cant hit skill checks. That's what was putting me off.
And yeah you are right I wasn't enjoying it in the first place, I played DBD since January 2018, and I was having a good time till around Apiril of 2019, when the Legion "rework" (aka the gutting of Legion) happened. The fact that the devs were beginning to ignore feedback, was the start of the unenjoyment of the game. I started playing less and less over time until the Nurse nerf happened, where no feedback was even considered. That was the big kicker for me, and that was when I starting playing the game like twice a week and playing a few matches before being burnt out. The Oni, and the second Legion nerf (seriously nerfing an already gutted killer) just added fuel to the fire, since Devs still didn't listen to feedback. The Hex: Ruin nerf and the fact they didn't address the issue was the straw that broke the camels back.
I'm already playing multiple games that are enjoying, such as War Thunder, Bo1, Bo2, and Bo3 zombies, and I'm planning to play Last Year.
TLDR: It wasn't the Ruin nerf, but the fact the core issue wasn't address, and the fact since April of 2019, the Devs ignored feedback and just listen to new players.
Yeah I've never used ruin outside of one kyf game. I have never needed it because i don't play by fake survivor rules. Tunnel all day, open hate mail, spend BP on my Feng and Kate. Lol
But i feel the same.
The blatant disregard for killers is disgusting. I watched that q&a and these dudes just don't care. Super smug. Arrogant, telling ruin users to watch "content creators" and git gud.
Bump this game and that dev team. Im done with it.

@ad19970 said:
Haven't watched the Q&A yet, but I've read that they also said that they are thinking of ways to encourage survivors to do totems, and are continuing with map reworks which will make them fairer and smaller for killer. And they want to adjust toolboxes. Which doesn't sound survivor biased to me at all.
All that means is more points for totems which no one will care about. And the maps will never fully happen. Tool box might get a slight, barely noticeable nerf. I can see that

While tunneling is the best way to win, with borrowed time and DS it can hurt you sometimes. Slugging creates the same pressure as hooking so I much prefer that
But to slug you need deerstalker. Takes a slot away. Plus slugging is legitimately boring in my opinion. But i salute you all the same. Play the way you play. Kill the way you kill. Survivor's opinions mean nothing to me

You just gotta play dirtier. I always played pretty dirty even before the ruin changes, but now? It is almost a necessity unless you are playing the top tier killers available. Camping and tunneling are routine in a ruinless world.

Not a joke. It's simple. the light hits your face, you aren't craned at a 90° angle, bud. If you were a decent killer, you'd know you only have to turn slightly right or left to avoid a light altogether.
I most certainly am a Killer main. If you can't handle simple disagreements and cognitive dissonance, I guess that's a you problem.
So a slight turn is greater than the equivalent motion in an upwards direction. My god
-
They say the answer to ruin nerf is good old fashioned map pressure.
They also say billy is annoying because of good old fashioned map pressure.
Im done with y'all lol
-
Is this a joke?
If you try and blind me and i look at the sky you will noy blind me. It's simple. People complain about literally everything in this game. Holy crap
Also, you're not a killer main. Just saying that doesn't make anyone believe it. No killer would be arguing for having to look left or right to avoid a flashlight.
You're basically upset that i can look up, continue forward and hit you.
What you want is either the blind or i have to turn in almost the total opposite direction. A complete joke of an idea

Optimal killer versus optimal swf the winner is not always survivor. The outcome of a match is determined entirely based on killer and map at that point. Sure most killers are weak and most maps are strong for survivors but that doesn't mean the game is survivor sided. This mindset is unfounded and outdated. I don't think killer will ever be stronger tbh. 2 escapes for survivors is not a win despite how bad the pipping system is.
How are you literally gonna say "most" maps are survivor sided, and "most" killers are weak, and proceed to say killer is nit the weaker side? My god

This is a big reason why i laugh at killers who try to "play nice." Play how you want and then you won't care when they get toxic cause you'll expect it

I'm not talking about SWF or KYF, rather the exact gamemode we have when you queue for Killer or Survivor, but WITHOUT the ranking system? It would be a better way to separate the players who are serious about playing competitively and people who are messing around, 'farming' BP or doing such that could ruin games for those competitive players?
They don't have a casual mode because popular streamers swear the game is not competitive. Personally i think they say this as a cop out for when they get owned but hey im jaded.
That aside there should be a casual mode. This game is very competitive and if you're not skilled, you will be crushed.

I feel it's very cheap and for Killers that are garbage. I mostly play Killer and I never use it for the reason of how undeserving it is to get 1shots on everyone. When I play survivor, it sucks doing well the whole game then at the end everyone starts going down because of that single perk and every save being such a huge risk.
Did you know for a killer to get everyone with noed he has to in essence complete 2 chases. All starting from different points, with hooks and searching in between?
If i told you ill give you 2 chases and split them up with hooking and searching the whole map to open one door, would you say that's cheap...
If he gets a 4k on noed alone you are not good. At all. Noed is for toxic survivors and it only works on them because theyre the only ones who stand around long enough for it to work. And most survivors hate it. In other words most survivors in this game like to bully and hate that this perk punishes it.

The point you're missing is: if you no-hook everyone else just to go for a weak link, you'll have 2 gens left vs good survivors.
If the remaining survivors are good, you'll just downright lose and have 2 kills at most.
Tunnelling as a general strategy is bad vs good survivors. Tunnelling when the time is right is extremely valid and effective, but if you build your entire playstyle around focusing one person you'll just get dumpstered by good survivors every time.
Yeah unless you're a proud tunneler you can't be taken seriously. I tunnel all of the time. And tunneling is bad against the best survivor. Not against good survivors. There's always one you just shouldn't chase. At most 2. You almost never run into both of them back to back unless one is clearly baiting you. You have to be very good and flawless to escape an experienced tunneler. Odds are only one of them is that good. Take the weakest like he said , and domino them.

Thank God you're not in charge of balance of anything.
Moris are even more disgusting than keys. Not only the killer can get rid of a survivor after one chase (no matter how you spin it, the killer CAN make it nigh impossible to escape for the survivor he wants to mori), it's pretty much instantly a loss for the other survivors. If the killer is any competent he'll win a 1v3 easily, ESPECIALLY if it's an Ebony mori. Nothing should be a guaranteed win in this game the way moris are.
"We've all been tunnelled and we know it sucks" isn't a defense for anything. "Bad thing happened to me so suck it up when it happens to you" is such a bs statement I can't even. Let's just leave all instawin buttons in the game unchecked then. Let's keep keys as they are and while we're at it let's bring back old MoM and Instaheals too, because both were way less BS than moris are.
This isn't the 90s my man. People can patch their game to make it better. I play mostly killer too btw but that doesn't mean we need to have crappy opinions.
If you honestly played killer as much as i do you'd know there are some god tier survivors who are capable of running you for a match by themselves. Happens. To make it seem like downing someone twice is a given is disingenuous and wrong.

You know you don't have to bring it in to get better you could just simply bring it in because you want to run an end game build or you want to have a mori.
Seriously a lot of you guys need to get off your elitist high horse.
If someone wants to run something let them, the second you start passing judgement on them because of that you just make yourself look like a pompous ass.
They say that so weak willed killers will buy into that mindset and not bring it to prove how good they are. It's reverse psychology. You won't get better, blah blah mori'd

@gantes said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/960460#Comment_960460
No, you need to down someone once and tunnel them off the hook.
Even if the survivor is miles better than you he probably can't help being downed once. That's just how the game goes, there are no infinite resources and sometimes there's nowhere else to run. That's why moris are stupid. Being hooked once will happen if the killer really wants to hook you, no matter how much better than him you're playing. Moris guarantee a win, except for Cypress, and are way too impactful for an offering.
So by down them once and then tunnel them off hook, you meant down them twice. Lol i like how you use the word tunnel as if it's anything different happening. You're still being downed. If the killer cannot best you in that chase he won't. You also have borrowed time as a defense. If a killer could kill instantly with no effort that would be unfair. The way it is now is fair. You guys act like killer mains literally have never been tunneled or morid. We all have. And you're right it sucks. Get over it and get in the next match or sulk and quit. Jesus

Yeah of course... Then keys are fair too, because survivors need to complete some gens before using them, right? And infinite loops are fair too, because survivors need to be near them to abuse them. And broken killer addons like red hatchet are fine too, because huntress needs to hit you before you go down. At this point i don't even know if you are trolling
You never told me how it's unfair when there is an easy as ..... method to avoid noed. And you have to be bested twice at the least to be morified
-
@a_good_player said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/960142#Comment_960142
The problem is that mori and noed are UNFAIR mechanics. If the game allows you to use them doesn't mean they are fair. The game is broken and it's up to every player to choose to abuse it or not. That said, if you try to ruin my game experience, i will not be passive and i will defend myself in any possible way.
How exactly is noed unfair when you have the power to remove it entirely? Huh?
Moris are fair because you must be outplayed at least twice for them to work.

Every reason in the world.
Just to start, there's plenty of code they can't seem to fix but they continue to build upon. The game design lacks good balance and they use RNG, which only worsens things, to hide it.
The premise of the game is great. Game play can be fun at times. But the overall execution is quite wanting. Just read reviews of the game by people on Steam. Many of the positive reviews come with significant complaints.
You're not wrong. That's pretty much why i said bring milkstone in. They have a much more polished game, and it's balanced. Just no one plays it. Haha sad

Sequel, no. Spin-off, yes.
With enough budget and stuff, BHVR and other collaborating studios could make an Outlast-esque game based in the DBD universe, with actual lore and stuff.
I reckon I would love a gritty, atmospheric Outlast-like, DBD single player game with much more horror elements than the main game itself, and storytelling here and there.
Yeah maybe a spinoff would work better as it would allow DbD to continue running.

Downing a survivor one time should not equal a kill. In the context of this game that is a free kill. Don't try to argue "realistic". This game isn't remotely realistic. Rubbing someone's back for 16 seconds doesn't heal a stab wound either. A lot is done in this game for the sake of game balance and fun. RBT's that automatically arm as soon as they are put on is neither.
And not finishing all the gens should mean you can't escape, yet the hatch exists. That's a free win.
All im saying is they should have used something else. Seeing someone jump through a hatch with that on makes this game look like a joke.
-
@Dreamnomad said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/956901#Comment_956901
Nope. The traps aren't actually meant to be free kills. Nor should they be. The idea is just to have a way to force survivors off generators for a while.
It's not a free kill. A deadly trap shouldn't become a party city hat just because you jump in a hatch. Or a gen didn't pop. Makes no sense. If you want a time waster pick something that is meant to waste time, not kill you.
-
I don't think 144 hours is a little bit of anyone's time. 1k hours and im questioning how healthy your lifestyle is. After 100 hours of this game I'd say you know enough. That being said, it is survivor sided. But killer is better for it.
-
Or just have her traps actually work. At all times. Have it so getting ot off is the only way to survive once you have it on.

Ghostface is played a lot, yes, but spine chill isn't going to hard counter him, since he's main power is stalking, and he can stalk from the other side of the map.
Pig isn't played that much in rank 1, are we playing the same rank and game bruh?

Im saying that cause most spine chill user do that, they think the killer is coming only because the perk light up for 1 milisecond, and stay in that locker for 1 minute.
(The killer didn't come btw)
Believe what you want, the perk is over rated and not that useful.
And most stealth killers are weak/no one playing them and that's the pro of spinechill, so we can say it is a situational perk.
You're making a lot of sweeping generalizations based on anecdotal evidence. Ghost face is played a lot, along with spirit, those are stealth killers. Pig also is played a fair amount. You clearly just posted this to hate on the perk. Idk why it means that much to you. But yeah, your mind is made up. Like i said, post is not credible. Just toxic. Don't find it useful? Don't run it. I already used it 1 month and that 9% is nothing to me.
You will most likely not be able to use that 9% cause probably if the killer is looking at you're direction him is going to chase you.
And that's the why, im not a stealth player, and most people that use spine chill, if their perk activates for 1 milisecond they go in a locker and stay there 1 minute.
That's why people say is a noob perk
Why would anyone go straight to a locker if the perk is telling you there's an 80% chance the killer is watching you go to said locker...
I feel like this is not a credible post. The perk is very good.

It's just so boring because it's happening more and more lately and I'm honestly starting to play this game less and less as a result.
Please stop playing then. Im getting so tired of this survivor entitlement. There it is, the same idle threat you guys always use. "It's just boring, im playing less and less." This type of talk doesn't help anyone. Change this or im not playing your game anymore. Complaining about another legitimate strategy that you can't beat. That seems like fun honestly
