Hey pallet changes and making pyramid heads butt bigger are priorities🤣🤑
I look at buffed PHead butt while waiting in the queue, and it makes me feel better about everything!
-
PLAYTIME:
I play less, mostly in the evenings when queues are better
PLAYSTYLE:
Doctor, Spirit, Wraith (with allseeing), Bubba (with camping)
-
It does not take too long to increase your MMR. Even in lower MMR you see the best from survivors: hold W, press E, camp pallet, rush gens.
Long long time ago this game was about solid chases, mind gaming, strategy.
Now it is Corrupt, Ruindying, Tinkerer, hook camp and tunnel one as soon as possible. Take care of the rest.
Well, I did not feel well today after I returned home from work. I tunneled survivors 10 matches in a row, got some sweat DCs and feel much better, more energized now!
I am maining Doctor now, because I think this is the most annoying killer in the game and leveling up Spirit.
-
This is a really good job of making this post, Pirate.
But stretch res is something that must not be detected and banned. If BHVR wanted to fix something there, the easier way would be, for instance, to add "black bars" to limit the screen size on top/bottom or the sides, whatever works.
After "Hit Validation" and awesome "Chat filtering" (I hope they finally disable the chat feature, rather than mangling the text so hard), I am really afraid they might add a "stretch res" validation. This scares me more than Michael Myers near my door. Stalking me... With thumb stones piece...

Since they Turn on the MMR the game become unfun, alot more gen rushes, and matches that finish in 15 minutes (Gen rush) sorry but has Killer main i can t take that much. The new rank system is stupid so yeah i unistalled the game... I quit...
No!!! Don't quit! We have such sights to show you!
Would you consider lowering your MMR by just playing the game for fun and be a "nice" killer, who lets all survivors escape?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/280847/i-like-farmers-mmr-strategy-as-a-killer
This works well for me so far:
I am getting lots of BP
Raising my Grade/Ash whatever
Precisely control my sweat level: I can kill one or two to raise your MMR or let all 4 escape to lower it
Running the build I want
Really, don't care much about kills/escapes. I win -- I am gonna get sweaty next match. Why d I need that? No pressure.

Okay but don't go try abusing the mmr based off leaked information and come back saying it's trash because it's not working.
Okay, Mom

Yep, with the number of pallets on some maps, where your best strategy is just dropping the pallet and run.
With awesome "hit-validation", survivors can camp the pallet and I cannot mindgame that
With breakable walls, that you are facing in the mid chase and have to break it to prevent infinite loop...
I don't feel I am a killer anymore, I am a lumberman!

there's always light at the end of the tunnel

As a killer, I am gonna hook the AFK survivor -- ez BBQ stack, why not
-
@Dwigtht said:
I would explain why I would sometimes facecamp or tunnel and won't apologize about it:
1. I hooked a survivor, looked around the area... no saviors, but instead, Tinkerer pops on the other side of the map. Do you want to trade a gen for a survivor? -- I'll take the deal!
2. I hooked a survivor, but no one is on BBQ. This means you are either somewhere around or hiding in a locker, I assume you are hiding around, and I see the gens in this area. Why should I go anywhere? Come here, give me a chase. No?
3. You were awesome at looping the shack. Well, this shack had a basement and now I am gonna use this advantage because you wasted a lot of my time.
4. Given that survivors get more gen-rushy and want to end the game faster, it is reasonable to eject one from the game as soon as possible.
Again, do I want to tunnel or facecamp? -- No, I think this is boring gameplay, but I need to do this now. Survivors think it is more fun to hold M1 on the gen the entire game and don't interact with the killer. Well, then instead of being a fun killer I am gonna camp and tunnel you when it is reasonable. I don't even want to 4K or something, I want to end this boring match, where I cannot do what I wanted to do, just sooner.

I'm sure this is not a new experience for many people since SBMM was implemented, but there have been a drastic increase in the amount of face camping and genuine tunneling killers I have gotten. SWF or solo queue, it really seems like every game. Before SBMM, it was once in every 10 games, it really wasn't that big of a deal to me. Now, it is literally every single game. I've started taking screenshots and posting them in my discord when I get face camped. It doesn't matter what perks I run. It doesn't matter what I do. Decisive strike, borrowed time, unbreakable, soul guard, dead hard, sprint burst, flashlight, no flashlight, medkit, toolbox. It genuinely does not matter: someone on my team or myself gets face camped to death or tunneled to death. I mean genuine tunneling. Like, going out of your way to not hit other survivors tunneling. Waiting out for BT tunneling. It's not even like these killers are getting "genrushed", they are genuinely face camping at 5 or 4 gens left. What is the big deal? I play killer a LOT, I have probably 2,000 matches on Huntress. I have NEVER played like this. Then they complain about their queue times going up. Do you understand that you are the problem? People complaining are the ones contributing to the issue. No one wants to play survivor when they get face camped every game. No one wants to play survivor when they get tunneled at 5 generators for no reason. My friends and I have contemplated just straight up quitting the game when we've all dedicated 2k+ hours into it. The better question is: why have the devs not addressed it? There's NO way they don't know what's going on. There's NO way they haven't been reading forum posts. I want answers because this is absolutely ridiculous. This game is rapidly going downhill because 50% of the playerbase wants to play like animals. Playing to win =/= playing like a jackass.
I would explain why I would sometimes facecamp or tunnel and won't apologize about it:

I just view the killers running it as really insecure in their own skill who don’t think they can win without their perks.
I am sure, Nancy, you are not one of those survivors who feel really insecure and runs Dead Hard or Sprint Burst. You are confident in your chasing skills and probably run some totem-finding perks to help your teammates!
-
I would understand the hate against Undying before it was nerfed and I was against this combo. But now, there is no reason to hate any perk in the game. Ruin + Undying are just two glowing totems, which produce the cracking sound. Find them.
But no, we, survivors, want to hold M1 on a gen. Guess what! You can hold m1 on totems too!
-
Maybe there is no MMR and this is just a placebo effect?
Survivors now playing sweatier, because they have heard about MMR. In solo queue, people just think they are playing with better players, but in reality, they got matched with the same people. When I play killer I see the same number of DCs and AFK players as it was before.
Survivors are performing better just because they bring good items, like BNPs and good medkits.
Queue times are longer because BHVR has a limited budget on dedicated servers expenses.
And ranks was just cosmetically replaced with Ashes and Grades. They even use Roman numbers to make everything more confusing, like
"I am Silver Ash IV grade..." like compare that with "I am rank 5".
MMR does not exist.

The maps are "random", but on different weekdays I notice playing the same kind of map more often. There were times when I was getting Haddonfield 3 times in a row, other days I can see more indoor than outdoor maps.
And high-mobility killers are just more popular

Not if everyone's in on it. Some people are into that kind of thing.
I guess the next logical step is to make a perk that counters paruresis.
I like the idea about the perks. They can definitely buff Iron Will for this cause or something.

Naah, NOT SUCCESS
It really feels like SBMM is as random as it has been before, but with additional wait time.
Before SBMM I could play killer with almost instant queues starting at 8 PM, now the queues are long until 10 PM.
Regarding the promise of SBMM to have a lower rating on killers I usually don't play and a chance to learn them -- does not work.
Occasionally I getting matched with potatoes survivors, but during the past 3 days: My baby nurse has been bullied and gen-rushed 4 times in 5 games. Clown, whom I haven't played for a while got all sweaty matches, same for Death Slinger, same for Pig.
SBMM matching does not let me learn a new killer. I see the same Dead-Hard-Try-Hards almost every match on killers a barely played.

It's wonky with the scream, but that's the 50% (as you say, easy number to work with) they won.
Nope, I've said it should be 50/50, but now it is 100% on the survivor's side. They scream and run healthy
-
A concept
-
For a while, I switched to the idea, suggested by Uncle Tru3ta1ent:
🎣
Go for hooks rather than kills
☝️
This makes the game fun for both sides. So this is my definition of win: between 4 and 12 hooks.
4 -- because of BBQ :D
Besides this, the killer queue times for me are really important. I don't want to waste my time waiting in the lobby. I've played and win or sometimes lose against descent survivors and I can't say I see a lot of potatoes in most of the matches. And hey, I am sure I've played against those people in my region already and survived as a killer!
So:
"Zion, hear me! It is true, what many of you have heard. The competent survivors have gathered an army and as I speak, that army is drawing nearer to our shack. Believe me when I say we have a difficult time ahead of us. But if we are to be prepared for it, we must first shed our fear of it. I stand here, before you now, truthfully unafraid...."
-- Hillbilly, The Captain of Nebuchadnezzar
-
I totally disagree with Ruin, Undying, Tinkener (RUT) and prefer to use Ruin, Surveillance, Tinkener (RST).
Works better, since you can still monitor gens after ruin is gone. And undying is not the best protection against people with totem perks... But those people are rare ;)
-
Naah, including this rare occasion, something else could happen: a cat peed on keyboard, a dog chewed interned cable, fire in the apartment, SWAT, mom called, killer got bored of killing: What am I doing? I am wasting my life here!; power outage, hurricane, plane crash, diarrhea, wifi outage in McDonalds... like a lot could happen

Then stop expecting free hits through pallets?
The previous system favored killers as their client had the final say on whether a hit counted, with no input from the survivor's client. Now the server is the referee. So no, you no longer getting bs hits through pallets does not make the system survivor sided. It's literally as fair as possible.
What is bs, however, is the killer receiving feedback that they got a hit when they didn't. That should really be fixed.
Also, I play plenty of killer and still get plenty of hits at pallets, and only have my hits rejected rarely, like once every couple of games.
It is not a free hit. This is a hit at the same time when survivor drops a pallet. It should be 50%/50% at least, but when it is my 50% -- the survivor screams and remains uninjured. So, how is this free stun is fair and a "free" hit is unfair?
This also makes the mind game (when you look left and then hit into the direction of the pallet) against pallet campers worthless -- they always win.
-
When I grab a survivor from the gen, 2 others instead of running away, stubbornly trying to finish the gen. No rush. They are not like rushing, they do the gen at a constant speed.

Or, you can simply kill your team by looking for Totems for a Perk the Killer might not even have instead of doing a Generator.
It is just a bad concept to do Totems for something the Killer might not even have. Let alone that the Reward for Dull Totems is basically nothing, cleansing a Dull Totem does nothing for winning the game.
Tofu made a good analogy - lets say a Survivor Perk exists which gives the Survivor 10% Movement Speed when all Gens are done. The Killer can counter it (even before) by going to the Basement and opening each Locker 2 times. Would anyone do that? Wasting time for a Perk the Survivor might not even use?
Or, you can simply kill your team by looking for Totems for a Perk the Killer might not even have instead of doing a Generator.
After losing the game as a killer, I usually do a brainstorm with myself to figure out where was my mistake.
Usually, the answer is simple: I forgot NoED! This will never happen again, I promise!
I wrote this while listened to Rammstein: -Do! Do Gens! Do Gensmish! Do Gensmish, hold your m1 and forget about everything else!

Greetings I know devs werent interested in adding different modes but its there any reason of it ? Like it would give much work to make this mode with the actual game or something?
Becuz I would say Hell yeah to chainsaw brothers on the same trial or some interesting combinations.
Sounds cool. I remember the custom games mode had been added to PUBG and the first few months it was fun, a lot of people played.
But then the queue time increased significantly and I had to wait in queue for a long time. And that's for the game with 1M players at that time...
And also, it would open a lot of opportunities for hackers to hack a normal mode match and drain the "normal mode" queue.
Not worth it. Maybe if that would be a new separate game? They might not be able to use licensed killers, but they have a ton of non-licensed now.
-
It had also censored when survivor said "I like your cum head" when I ran a specific jelly-like head cosmetic on Demogorgon
-
3 games in a row I've played against survivors who ran Small Game or Detective Hutch or Map item.
In my current build, I have Thrill of the hunt -- no real purpose, just to distract survivors on doing glowing totem and get extra 10% BP, so I see the totem count.
2 games -- they did 5 tots
1 game - 4
And I did not have NoED! Ha-ha! Mothers of the dog!

The problem is that Haddonfield is egregiously bad for killers, as there are legit infinite tiles and routes that survivors can take to drag out a match; not to mention its problem with hedges and fences. Personally I feel as though RPD needs a rework more though as the thin hallways, lack of traversal options between floors, and egregious size (basically 2 mother's dwellings/shelter woods stacked on top of each-other) make several killers powers nearly impossible to use, some killers powers oppresive, and finding gens for survivors a nightmare.
We can acknowledge that some maps will always be the 'worst' for either side, but fixing bad map design is something that I think we should all be able to get behind. There is no reason why anyone should think "Oh, well you see this map is terrible and poorly designed which makes it completely horrid for one side to play. But it's OK since we should all just deal with it." as complacency doesn't solve the underlying issue. If the community doesn't speak up about bad game design then we'll simply get more bad game design because 'we just dealt with it' the last time, and this would lead to more people getting frustrated and just potentially leaving all together.
You know, since improving map visual appearance is BHVR's common trend... They might take this map in the work queue pretty soon.
The problem here -- this is a licensed map, so it takes a lot more time to agree, but they could do this. They reworked Badham, which is also licensed. And Badham change was balanced.
But I would rather be terrified of this change. The recent change was: Midwitch in 2020 -- not the best great map. RPD in 2021. Reworked Game with unlimited pallets. Reworked Corn -- so now I am almost 100% corn-blind.
Given this trend, as a killer main, I would be rather terrified of the potential Haddonfield change.
-
No reason to do this. There always should be the worst map for the killer, so once Haddonfield gets fixed, some other map has to become the worst one. Why? We all get used to that Haddonfield is the worst. No need to change our habbits.
-
I think this is a great idea, but now we have to incept it into the mind of the person responsible for the perk design.
Once in the past, a Famous Streamer suggested the changes for the perk rework, including the famous DS nerf.
After some time, all the changes were implemented.
Famous Streamer asked the Developer if they want him to send another perk rework proposal as they did before
The Developer replied he does not remember any re-design proposals from Famous Streamer and perk rework was common sense, but yes, please feel free to send whatever you'd like.
Anyone else here remembers this story? (I need social confirmation)
I can explain the perk changes were implemented only because of the great telepathic power from the twitch chat. This is the way.
-
Are there any hacking experts?
The thing I cannot understand is: we have our Game, which is a client. And we have a dedicated server, which synchronizes the game state between clients and controls the match. I assume the hacker client sends corrupted data to the server, distributing the hack (invalid state) to all players. Why wouldn't the server prevent a wrong game state? Why are people flying across the map, hook themselves, use dead-hard ten times in a row while healthy, insta-heal, have infinite spritnburst... but when I hit them with the chainsaw on the pallet as Bubba, they scream, but remain healthy.

Yes

After went to his chat this streamer said and I quote "I spent 100 dollars on this game. Why should I care about other people.
And that's my question - is it OK to have mentality like this streamer?
So I feel like DBD does a good job of taking the potential anger, hate, and cruelty from the real world and puts it into the game world,
So your friend might have just saved some little kitten life, just by taking the hit in the game.

@thefallenloser said:
It's not.
Let's say in this fairly realistic hypothetical scenario:
Bubba immediately finds, downs, and facecamps a survivor to death about 1 min into the game. In those 120 seconds it would take for Claudette to die as well as the additional 60 seconds from before, an average of 3-4 gens would be completed. Cool, almost all the gens are done. Bubba doesn't catch anyone after, then the final gen gets done. That survivor Bubba couldn't catch? NOED helped him out with a little speed boost and instadown. Bubba facecamps that survivor to death. The others can't do anything about it.
Is NOED fine in this instance?
Even assuming that survivors were looking for the totems while the first survivor was being camped, that would mean less gens would get done, giving Bubba more time to kill. This is assuming that the survivors even find the totem in the first place. On maps like Grim Pantry where the totems can spawn in some random corner away from everything else hidden in grass, are survivors expected to reliably cleanse those totems in a timely manner on that big map?
The problem with NOED is that it requires absolutely no input from the killer in order to activate such a game-changing effect. With Ruin, pressuring survivors encourages them to leave gens. Devour and Lullaby require hooks to increase their power. Crowd Control and Blood Favor require the killer to give chase for their effects to activate. Even Plaything requires a survivor to get hooked. Haunted is pretty much the only exception to this and coordinated survivors or weary solo queue players can figure out what it is, plus, it only lasts a minute.
With NOED, the survivors don't know it's in play until its effect is applied.
Solo queue players can't coordinate totem placements, especially on indoor maps or maps or very large ones.
It's effect is overly powerful for how little it requires from the killer.
If a Wraith can just run Bitter Murmur, No Way Out, and NOED and sit in the corner the entire game until the gens are done, then just go around and one-shot slug the team to death, NOED may be a problem.
So you have described the situation when killer camped and tunneled a survivor and got additional power-up from NOED.
I'd say this is definitely not fun for the survivor and does not make bubba-player a better player. This is not fun, but if the killer wants to do this -- he can. He would do the same thing without NoED and please don't blame NOED for being the best camping perk. This is just a perk. The players make this game fun or miserable.
I have used to use NoED on Nemesis with no Gen Defence, but with chasing perks and meme builds for a while. I intentionally did not camp even the hook during the game collapse. Only once, one survivor complained about noed. The survivor, who died with around 18,000 BP in their pocket.
NOED IS FINE
-
I can imagine no speed/stalk debuffs on Myers with "Judith's Tombstone" + "Fragrant Tuft of Hair"

-
@Freddy96 said:
Noone cares about noed, devs don't mind it as they clearly said they want players to feel frustrated while playing the game. What better frustration than noed especially if on spirit
This is a really good point. Frustration is what used to motivate me for a while in the beginning. After a disappointing game:
I need this new perk to win, I need to try this killer, I need this stronger build, I have to learn how to mind game, I want to learn how to loop the tiles...
-
So I used to think the same thing about NOED, it is poorly designed... gives a killer unearned advantage, and so on.
But I have changed my mind, because:
- NOED is a second chance perk. It is as annoying as sudden Dead hard, forced DS hit, Deliverance or Unbreakable
- There are only 5 totems on the map and 4 survivors in the match. NOED is a hex perk, once all tots are cleansed -- it is gone
- Survivors have 3 perks to find tots: Small Game with the count of tots, detective hutch, counterforce
So if you run an Unbreakable (or another second-chance perk) instead of Small Game -- please do not complain -- you deserved NOED :)
(In other words: do bones)
