I want to know other people's opinions on what underrated perks there are for survivor.

Im kind of bored of using the same perks that everyone else uses so I wanna switch it up and try something different.

Any specific perks that are underrated or any underrated perk build that could be tried out would be nice.

    😙✌️

not sure about this, but autodidact and solidarity have been my personal favorite combo

I agree that the bouncy knives should be basekit, but I think one yellow addon that gives an extra bounce is enough.

That's fair, I mainly added those in case to see if it would spark more interest. Hell, I'd just be happy if he could bounce in his base kit.

The Entity is quite lazy for an eldritch deity. Oh well, as long as it gets its entertainment.

You know what? That's hard to argue. You make a good point haha

  • @glitchboi said:

I think they're meant to power enough electricity for the exit gates to be activatable.

Yeah that's the point of them, I just meant like.. You're a God of a realm, why would you put these electrical power switches and generators in a realm that you control? Why not make it more customizable, I dunno.

  • @Pilot said:

Well, we have modern maps like Hawkins, Lery's & Gideon Meat Plant

Ontop of other maps like Badham & Gas Heavan which cars & what not. The game was always modern.

So I don't know why you'd single out generators for the modern feeling since we have all these realms that give a modern feeling.

Generators exist to power the exit gates, that's all.

However, I do agree that having modern generators in maps such as Dead Dawg Saloon, grind my gears ever so slightest.

Maps were never an issue for me because to me they're just an area. While gens are a mechanic that progresses the game forward... if that makes sense.

  • @Power_Guy said:

It's SUPPOSED to feel 'jarring and warped'. The Entity copies areas in other worlds and mimics them, but it does not know anything about those worlds, so the copies are weird and prone to errors.

It saw generators and felt this would be great to give Survivors false hope, so it used them, without thinking through how or why they would be laying around.

Right. I forgot about the hope aspect that it feeds off of.

im gonna assume that the map that's coming is gonna have some sort of zombies locked behind windows trying to get in or something, so if its the police department they could really do something what that, doubt a licker as a killer tho, probs just crawling on a window or ceiling if anything

Yeah, I get that. I doubted it at first too, but I thought about it a bit more. Could be an interesting killer, but it's probably gonna be Mr. X or Nemesis. Lol, what if it is Wesker?

  • @KingFrost said:

Lickers are blind, so I imagine that'd be really weird to have as a killer.

I'm not too familiar with Stranger Things, but isn't Demogorgon also blind, don't they rely on hearing and smelling? Wait... now that adds questions.

  • @konchok said:

I think that a system that allows killers or swfs to opt into harder games for extra bloodpoints can fix alot of the problems that you're bringing up.

This is how it would work, it would be an offering that you can only get after you P3 a character. when used the bloodpoints earned for all survivors is double and killer is double.

Survivor: The offering is only valid for survivor if you're in a SWF of any size. You will only be matched with killers that of the same rank tier as your highest level survivor. (You may need to wait longer for a game, but the extra bloodpoints should make the wait well worth it)

Killer: The offering increases the likely hood that you'll go verses a SWF.

Matchmaking will prioritize putting these 2 groups together if possible.

This would mean that the killers and survivors are both willing participants and properly reward each side. It would stand to reason that new killers would avoid an offering that would increase the likelyhood of a SWF while the Bloodpoints would incentivize strong killers to run the offering.

    --

Now I know that there's a major flaw to this idea and that is that you burn offerings after matchmaking has already happened. I'm not sure how to fix this, but just ignore that specific plot hole when giving feedback to this idea. I know that with the way that offerings work it wouldn't actually work.

I get what you mean, I'm personally just too tired. I keep getting paired with sfws and there's honestly no choice but to accept this [bad word] fate.

  • Remove ranking. It's become pointless, swf can easily bypass the "match making" system. I went from liking swf to damning it. I know, typical killer main complaint, but I'm one of those people who refuses to bend to the meta, I play a game to have fun, but right now it just feels like I'm forced to use it to have any fun.

That's the thing though. Even if the devs wished to remove the comms part, how in the blue hell could they enforce it?

I dunno about the other platforms, but in Xbox the party chat is entirely separate from any game being played. Heck there could be 7 of us playing all different games in the same party. I believe Microsoft mandated any game they accept cannot interfere with the party chats in any way. I bet PS is similar, and how would they detect Doscord on a PC?

It's not that hard, red dead redemption 2 does it with poker. You can't play a on-line poker match with randoms when you are in a party with friends. If you own rdr2 online, give it a shot, it won't work, or at least not on consoles. So enforcing it wouldn't be that hard really

  • @Sup3rCatTree said:

Ranking will never be good in DBD

    Exactly, why bother?

  • I'm gonna be completely honest about this, I'm already about to shoot myself in the foot.

    I do both..

I only really do the more toxic ***holish disrespect when a survivor does that to me, which can happen a lot. Especially in red ranks, smurf accounts, sfw, etc. You get the picture.

In no way is that an excuse, sometimes I have a bad day and just BM on a meta base Nea by taunting her before I use a mori, hook, or my personal favorite the End Game Collapse.

I don't feel good admitting to it, but I gotta be honest. Reason why I say this is just incase you are a ps4 user and I did it to you out of pure anger. You might have not been running Meta, but someone was earlier and I just took it out on you. I am sorry if that's you.

What I usually do is let the last survivor escape while I wave them off (swinging at the air.) Hatch or Gate, whatever works. But, what I try to do that takes WAYY to much effort is to look for the hatch while chasing the survivor, down them, let them open the gate, down them again, and then carry them all the way to the hatch. More bloodpoints for them.

  • I understand. Personally I'd ignore the snarky comments, and as you said, the community is just a sewer. A lot of people felt this way from the community and what the developers have been doing as well. I've been pretty much... lying to myself that things will get better.

I think you will be back, but not the "kek, bye. See you tomorrow." I think you'll be back when things start to get better. Community and general health for the game.

(Yes. I know it's better than it was in 2016, but right now it's going down with hasty patches that causes awful glitches that can make it extremely hard to play and scummy business practices.)

I know that feeling op, take care and just log off the general forums until you feel the time to come back (if any) is right

  • If all gens are done by the time I get back from the toilet, then we have a problem.

    (I'm joking.)

  • @Peanits said:

I like scary stuff as much as the next guy, but just adding blood and gore isn't going to make it scary again. At some point, you just get hardened to the horror aspect of the game.

What if you added the ability for killers to hide in lockers and chest? I'd scream if I went to search a chest and there was hospital gown Michael Myers just springing out of it

  • I was joking about a cowboy, but he's more like a gruesome Bounty Hunter, at least from what I've seen. Think Red Red Redemption bounty hunting, but with a harpoon gun and a "You're wanted dead, not alive" attitude

  • I'd prefer it if you could pull a survivor over the pallet and window with the gun, that'd be interesting and fun

  • Yeah, I'd get him. I have a fun build for him in mind

  • You leave John Marston alone

It's a flawed point to say your logic is flawed? Excellent defense.

Apparently I struck a nerve. I'm saying it's flawed that you'd make a comparison of "then there's too many killers that use M1" to killers who use a charge ability. I know you were being sarcastic, but still. If they did that, there would be too many killers with a charge and it would be boring. Extremely boring. Let's use keep using this same ability for all killers while we're at it..

  • @Frankie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1106601#Comment_1106601

By that logic, there's way too many killers with M1 attacks. A bayonette charge would work well on him.

Also, I still, to this day, think if Pennywise was to be introduced, he would need a charge.

See 2:10 in this video for an idea:

    https://youtu.be/hAUTdjf9rko?t=139

Not to be rude, but that is a kinda flawed point. We have Pig, Oni, Hillbilly, and him. That's more charges than there are characters who teleport. It would get bland. I'd rather more new and unique stuff.

  • I don't think that's a good idea, we actually have wayyyyy too many charge characters. I'd rather an addon that allows me to fire an additional shot or reload faster or even reel in faster

  • I don't remember him throwing hatchets

I have been highly critical as well up until now. That is when you like something. Some of us express ourselves differently.

After taking part in the beta i was saw where we were heading and i liked it.

I have done a full 180 now. Reversed my review completely from hate filled bile (cos i love the game) to something more constructive. The remaining content i purchased. I have a full roster now and the rift.

I actually found a new life in the game. I am no longer just playing one killer. Today i played all different killers and i did not give a hoot if i won or lost as long as i had fun. And fun i did.

I just had a hilarious game as clown. I took no perks at all and no addons at all. I was just going to do the clown daily. I somehow managed to slug three poor survs right next to each other. I hope they learned something there. Of course i let them go. I actually felt sorry for them as one person was stuck. Literally stuck and could do nothing. I let the three go and then i had to end the process since the game would not shut down after end game collapse. I took the penalty. 5 min. This happens once a day to me at least. I hope they dont add up to quickly. Cos i dont want an hour ban for reasons beyond my control. I took footage of the incident.

I let them escape and heal time and time again. It is rare i am actually totally in the power role. Especially with a killer that i only played three games with but i saw that these kids were totally in over their head.

I've had weird matches like that as the clown too, one time I downed everyone in the killer shack with an endgame build (they did one gen.) I pretty sure you're absolutely fine and I've had some new found love as well. I actually enjoy playing as the doctor and causing some mass chaos lmao

This thread is nice to see, because I've been having the same feelings. Anyone who's seen me around knows how harsh of a critic I've been of BVHR, but even I can admit that I owe them an apology as well. Things aren't perfect, but their love for the game and the passion is definitely there. Sometimes that's enough. Maybe when the Deathslinger update drops I'll return to the game myself, it's been a while.

They've definitely earned me as a returning consumer with their willingness to try and keep the game fun for all of us.

Exactly, especially with the new mechanic they added for wall breaking

  • Yeah I can see it, I also love the leg brace they gave him

  • I agree, since he only has one shot, if he had one or two more shots, then he'd be the perfect speed. But, one shot isn't enough to warrant a 110% speed

I saw someone DC at the start of the match against Monto because they couldn't handle getting harpooned first.

I'd scream and panic as my first response, then my second one is to try and free myself before Hardcore Henry downs me

Well, the game still is a buggy mess with rank update error since march 2019...

Nah you don't lol, the sabotage hyperbuff alone is undoing all the otherwise good things they're trying. The new killer LOOKS spectacular but mechanically pretty underwhelming.

I guess... drop the survivor then? They did say it takes a lot less time for the hooks to spawn now. You can easily wait it out, if someone runs up to the injured survivor and use that new survivor to instantly heal them, just down them again and the other guy now since it hurts the other survivor. Also try out Hangman's trick. I know I will haha

Best post I’ve seen from a killer main bravo dude seriously I can’t help but not get mad at your post you have some well rounded points most survivor mains can’t fathom the toolboxes are a great fix considering ruin is gone I main survivor but play killer too so props to you man for leaving and having the will to come back and apologize for acting irrationally kudos and I hope I see you “in the fog” :)

Thank you Haha and I hope to see you in the fog as well

Hello! This is simply a post containing all of the new things added to the game in the 3.6.0 update.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/141/81LDX9VXLK56.png

Also interesting to note: The killer is placed next to Huntress in the killer menu. This means that it's likely that this is going to be a free dlc!

I'm making a cowboy build now. YOU CAN'T STOP ME

  • Well, let's take a guess what's going on

They are like pallets that the killer can interact with. Brutal Strength can actually work with these walls too, so that's fun. But, that also means they're limited and I'm pretty sure the devs will make it where they will not be closed to each other the exception being houses nearing each other.

Each map seems to have at least two God loops at least. Two very distinctive. The killer shack and something that's almost always inside a building. They might make it where it's a 50/50 on where it spawns. Here's a good example. If one is in the killer shack, there will not be one in the building and vise versa. So survivors can at least have one loop they can kind of count on. But, who knows, but I seriously doubt there will be that many walls that would hugely impact the killer's kill rate

  • @betelgeuseyes said:

You know you can remap your buttons in "options" right? Assign it to something different. You can even use the ps4 "custom controller assignments" in "accessibility".

Wait. You can? I play on ps4 and I actually haven't seen anything like that

  • @yutycorn said:

Personally, having it changed in some way would be nice, at least for people like me - I have nerve damage in my hands so it can get painful at times. But remove it? I dunno. I kinda like the feel (other than the pain lmao) it gives me when I'm fighting this claw that just wants to stab me or impale me.

Im for a slight change but against removing it. Some people do have worse hands than myself. Perhaps they could have an option in settings so that you can change it from a soft struggle to a normal struggle? Just my thoughts on it. ^-^

I really hope a devs sees this, because that would be extremely nice for everyone

  • With this up coming update, I highly doubt it'll be survivor based. Breakable walls are only on the new map for testing purposes. After things run extremely smoothly or they're done touching up the maps or both, then we'll actually see the walls in every single map. It's just a new feature that they're working on, they'll get the maps soon. Toolboxes were nerfed, which is nice and with a decent trade off. Sabotaging hooks is a lot better now, it always felt clunky. The item depletion thing is just a survivor quality of life. We got stuff like that as killers, actually in this update we have some

  • @Dwinchester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/130681/i-owe-the-devs-an-apology

It's a nice sentiment, but I think you're giving them way too much credit. It looks to me like toolboxes are going to essentially be brand new parts. Give you a ton of gen progress in a short amount of time.

I see sabo as yet another 2nd chance perk with massive potential for abuse.

Some killer buffs are nice to see, but are extremely minor in comparison to what's been lost.

Let's wait and find out. The toolboxes are a nice nerf/slight rework. When you mentioned that all toolboxes are essentially going to be brand new parts now, which is hard to argue. But, killers can use Pop on the gen to delete most of that work s survivor puts into (if they are by themselves.)

  • @ALostPuppy said:

You're getting a bit ahead of yourself with some of those things, especially the Trapper buffs. They're definitely not "major" buffs but they are certainly nice and it's a good step on the right direction to making Trapper actually viable. He still needs many more changes before he's good but we'll see if they take any of the ideas people have been constantly asking for on board just like the resetting traps idea (such as starting with all traps...hint hint"

I may have exaggerated on the major part, but it's a lot better than he was. I don't know if they will allow him to carry more than one trap at a time, but I'm just really happy that they can't be broken.

  • I'd say just wait and see, we do have a PTB coming out tomorrow, we'll get to see how it feels and if it's the right choice 😀

what you said is actually really nice but, unless you insulted, I think that criticizing should not.make you feel bad :) after all if we get mad it s because we love this game and want to see it live a long and happy life :)

Not going to lie or sugar coat it. I have insulted a bit. If you wish to go through my activities and see, be my guest. I'm not going to hide the things I've done, I was a bad guy. But, still. Thank you for the saying that

Its probably against forum rules to make advertisements for my work but ya know what I'm a risk taker.

Check out Stevian Heartbound. I'm an author with a few books out and a few paintings done.

But you know Dead by Daylight does like adding licensed characters. If they ever look at books I'd be willing to add two of my characters to their roster. I'd make them available for iri shards though.

I play the game too. So I know for sure I'd give them a great setup.

But it's a secret. I'm just a dummy memelord goofing off on the forums shhhh ;)

It's all good. We're all a bunch of goofballs that enjoy the same game. I look at all the complaints on the forums and I think that's fantastic. People care enough about this game to criticize it over the slightest detail.

I would kill to have people criticize my artwork to this degree, because it means they're interested in it. Do you think a lot of people criticized Deathgarden? No. Its dead for the same reason. No one cared.

Sure it gives me an excuse to be a memelord and I'm probably never gonna get that trusted tag, but we're all playing together.

Do that 360 before hitting that survivor. Crouch beside the killer trying to break the pallet and watch him be super confused.

But most importantly, have lots of fun.

I think a lot of people do, but it says a lot about you that you're able to admit that 😊 It's natural for someone to jump the gun when they feel scared or threatened, but it's good to be able to recognise that for what it is, so when it happens again in the future, you can learn to say to yourself "I don't know the full story here, there could be more to it, I'll wait and see what happens".

I still feel bad about it though haha. But, like you said. It's something I'll reflect on and avoid jumping in with the wrong crowds
