  • Freddy doesn't need as much as people think he needs. If they make the start of transition block certain actions and fix up his add-ons (remove negative effects, boost yellow/white) he would be in a lot better spot. Make DW not so dark and foggy (this helps survivors too BTW). All done.

First off, even though he doesn't really need a nerf, they have to get rid of his all seeing power. It upsets too many survivors, and hell, even though I don't usually have too much problem with it, I'll admit I won't necessarily miss it if they compensate him with something.

What I think most people who don't play a lot of Freddy don't realize is how much at higher ranks the yellow and green dress add ons are necessary. He is too countered by things like SC without it...

( also can someone confirms something for me, because I can't test it at the moment, being I cut PS plus for a month. Does technician help to escape freddie's dream without giving him notification?... random tangent but I just realized I don't think I've ever tested it... anyway back to....)

Freddy needs to have better control over things in the dream world, that much is certain. I also like the idea of making the dream world more clear FOR HIM, I always thought the idea of having him play in a disadvantaged state and having a harder time seeing almost offset his all seeing before it even gets to start.

I don't think anything is wrong with the current effects of hex totems, I think the problem is that the totems are currently on spots where they become way too visible to survivors. Rather see harder totem spots like corners where you'd never come, but have to look to possibly find the totem than effects that still last on a hex totem that is already broken

There are two problems with that.

    A. If you put them in really good spots, some totems could just be ridiculous. The point of totems is that they are so strong survivors should want to take time from gen rushing to take them down. Half are, but at the very least you can say all totems have a useful effect. But survivors might just take too long finding them before they become super powerful, imagine the Devour hope nerf threads... but the other thing to consider about just changing spots for totems is

    B. Eventually, it won't matter. Once survivors start figuring out the spawn places for new totems, they'll justnmemorize them like the old ones. All itbwpuld take is someone going around, using the perk to find totems and eventually that info will be out there, boom totem buff pointless.

But, if developers really want to ensure fun and fair gameplay there are definetly solutions for this. Developers can make it so that totem placements become different frequently, like monthly or every patch but it will make learning all the spots pretty useless. Considering a big percentage of the survivors will not go and hunt for the totem every match but instead works on a generator.
I'm sure that survivors will make topics in which they declare how overpowered totem perks are, but then, their moaning will eventually stop and they will get used to the change. Just like how it happened with the exhaustion nerf.

Yea, I don't think developers will waste resources on repeatedly changing totem spots each month, and even if they did, there's only so many places that are suitable for totem spawns. So that either means map rework each month or this isn't going to work. Not to mention good survivors will learn totem spots if they fear devour hope, noiseless skillchecks, and blindness.

If a struggling survivor is rescued from hook, for the remainder of the game they cannot be healed to healthy.(like no mither)

What do you think? I'm sick and tired of survivors complaining about facecamping, make the most out of the time you have. Killers should challenge themselves to go for someone else and should rightly be more difficult to play cheaply by face camping.

So you just think killers should be forced to give up more options, huh? I'm so sick of this no position BS that is so obviously a false way to ingratiate yourself with both sides. Either you have an opinion on balance one way or the other.

Do you think killer side is in need of balance or not?

Do you think that survivor side is overpowered or not?

These are the daily questions posed on this forum in one way or another. They are the crux of every argument here. So what is your answer?
  • Because Nurse needs to be any stronger. 🤦‍♂️

Well obviously the nurse doesn't need buffs, but if they got
Rid of the devices, they could actually work to balance the
Base kits of all killers in game, including nurse (i.e. possible nerfs)
    Stop being so dense
Maybe they should be tailoring changes for each killer instead of callously getting rid of checks and balances across the board.

    Stop being so dense.
You really are dense, you can't help it my though, I get it. Did that have to be explicitly implied for you to get it, because that's pretty much what I said yet you still missed it.

If you gonna respond on that child's level, keep my name out of it please
  • I agree with everything said here. It's a bit sad that we won't know from one month to the next if this game is even worth playing anymore. These devs dug themselves a hole they REFUSE to get out of, and those of us who want a fun, exciting game with balance just get shafted by "Majority rule" no matter how much sense or nonsense that brings about.

I can't play this game twah, but I'm not sure I even want to anymore. Identity 5 on my phone feels somehow MORE balanced, MORE engaging, And you never feel like the game is completely out of your hands.. even when you're losing
  • Granted, iri hatchet were a big issue if I remember correctly. Buuuuut huntress has been getting nerfed left and right and there is a lot of discussion on whether or not she is even top 3 anymore (especially because hag is VERY strong right now if you play her with equal dedication, but is also a lot more fun and balanced)
  • Because Nurse needs to be any stronger. 🤦‍♂️

  • Pass. People who own a product are entitled to complain about it. Games are a unique property in that you can buy these online games and not really ever know what it will become, you only have your ijnitial promise and idea of what the game is and should be.

It's the nature of games in the ages of patches and updates. Most of us never get what we think we want in these games. Then you have the fact this game has "sides" so it will always put people's idea of balance against someone else's. I think most of us know a game like this may never be truly balanced, but to a degree we all feel like it could have been better if it was just done OUR way. You can't really blame anyone for that, it's human nature
  • White_Owl said:

What you think you accomplish: you destroy the morale of the survivor and make him reconsider his life choices. He won't resort anymore to looping and will forever be nice to killers.
What you really accomplish: the survivor is happy because you're salty, proving he was hard to catch while his team can tbag you at the exit gates they powered in the mean while. He will do it again because the feeling of owning you was great.

So then the killer by default starts camping every survivor, because he starts becoming so angry all the time all he does is want to piss of others.

Here's a philosophical question for you;  If NOED didn't exist, would survivors ever bother doing dull totems?

Yes because it's still free points. I do dull totems even when I can be sure the killer doesn't have NOED. Do I do them all? No because it's a waste of time. Will I do the few I happen across? Most likely if I can spare the time.

That's an option, but it doesn't feel like a necessity, and anecdotal evidence has nothing to do with a trend. Most survivors do NOT break dull totems, not in the implied necessity anyway. And the point isn't to give survivors free points. My point was, as far as the killer is concerned, you may as well remove dull totems if you remove NOED because other than simple greed, there is no need for them to exist. No NOED = No incentive to break dull totems  = Gens get rushed with no fear

He isn't wrong either, I can't count the number of times not being focused enough about avoiding objects around loop has cost me a hit. Some loops are just too awkward for a first person perspective, and honestly I'd perfer more loose debris detached from the loop then how we have it now, that way you can keep still keep LOS breakers and keep it more balanced for the killer

  • I like your ideas a lot. They aren't ridiculously OP, especially together, in fact I think the 5% on hex ruin could bump up closer to 50% if not higher, but they are great and creative ideas.
  • Mikessnow said:
Anyone who says killers are too strong are mocked instead of a explanation in there opinion but from what I've experienced killers are very strong apart from some that actually require a little skill or the building maps because it's easier to evade and lose them as a survivor

Anyone who lacks knowledge and asserts things based on that lack of knowledge will be, at the very least, corrected about it, and it usually won't  be sweetly worded. It's part of the toxicity this place and game breed in general. But yea, killers seem strong when you first play, it will take a couple weeks maybe, and grinding a few perks, but eventually when you get used to physics and try playing killer yourself, you will see why we say this.
  • I'll take the greater aura blocking on hooks for slightly less struggle strength. This perk isn't THAT weak on console at least, but the trinity and adrenaline are still much better. I think the aura blocking as it is is quite pointless though, and it would be an interesting perk, considering finding a hook in time is rarely a problem anymore
  • Mikessnow said:
Owel, if it's legit then I guess imo it's broken but I know this community and the comments I'll receive

Your damn right you will, he's one of three legitimate threats in the game, he won't get any nerfs and doesn't need them tbh. If you know how to avoid chainsaw and run from a regular m1 killer, you van beat him
  • Also DS when coordinated is also pretty toxic because it's potential to waste time is great, it discourages anything but camping and tunneling (which survivor only players hate) and it just hits the person who was playing really hard with the frustration of having all the work you put in to be meaningless. There is almost no situation in which all survivors have to run it together, 1 or 2 waste enough time. All DS is a dead game, but the killer will not know until it's too late (which brings to mind another advantage that they have that killer doesn't; one dies and all can know your build. NOED is now countered.
  • Tbh, the killer can't really be that toxic as far as in game. People always had it backwards, if the killer or survivor are doing something to get to the end goal of winning, it's fine as long as we're talking about the game playing as intended. To a degree, I don't even find teabagging toxic necessarily because sometimes you use it to tilt for an advantage, no different then taunts in fighting games. Teabagging at the exit gates IS toxic, because there is almost nothing to gain from it.

Likewise camping is legit because sometimes it plays into a strategy. Dying light, hook rushing, etc. It has a place, and insidious is there to prove it.

Using VC is actually a bit on the toxic side, because the inherent coordination it affords is not accounted for or balanced, and swf has been out for over a year. It's not toxic at face value, but LETS VE HONEST this game was not ANYWHERE NEAR as toxic before SWF with Comms came about, there was no Ochido because he couldn't pull his old Bullshit out without his band of dicks.

  • Here's a philosophical question for you;  If NOED didn't exist, would survivors ever bother doing dull totems? You might as well take dull totems out of the game if you remove NOED, because they would never be a threat again. And since the threat of possible NOED is gone, the time wasted by the survivors searching for and breaking totems to ensure a safe ending is gone then.

Now I know, most survivors don't expect NOED and don't bother with it because the vast majority of killers don't even run it (in part due to the same shaming that inhibits camping and chasing injured survivors) but imagine if NOED was a meta perk for killers and now survivors start spreading game time between breaking all the totems, fixing gens, AND dealing with the killer. Well, killers stopped running NOED so much because "Much skill, much fair" so in turn gen rushing got a lot worse because survivors get no real repercussion for it and no fear associated with the endgame.

Personally, I think NOED needs a buff. I think the endgame should be a crutch situation, because for 1, at this point of the game all the survivors should at least be close to a single pip, so dying here is negligible anyway tbh, you'll rank up and not everyone needs to escape. For 2, if you make the endgame a legitimate threat instead of pretty much the fail state for killers (because I don't believe that having all gens done mean survivors win anyway, how is that logical when you consider blood warden and remember me exist, not to mention NOED Being there from jump)

Take NOED you streamline gen rushing because there will no longer be a counter to gen rush.  Take DS, and yea, survivors lose a single mindgame. A mindgame that they don't even need, since DS works on everyone anyway

All that being said... if they actually balance the hatch stand off situation, by all means take all 3 away
  • I just about loved all these except for insidious, not because I hate it (although I would probably change the 20 second thing) both because that would make more sense for a rework to beast of prey, which is just as useless as monstrous shrine right now, if not more so.

The two strategies are mutually exclusive, and body blocking doesn't risk them getting the window before your hit if you're relying on the camera pull.

    WhineTyme is garbage, though.

    Oh yes, he is..

As far as body blockin windows, I would think it be better to place a trap on the other side of it and have them run into it. Trapping the front of the window is ok if they're already injured, cuz maybe you could catch them attempting to vault. But trapping the other side at a certain distance angle from the vault is better imo because it allows for one of the only true mind games in the game for killers ;wether you will teleport to the now active trap, or wait for them to vault back into you.

However, she does make Urban Evasion mandatory, and I think it's fair to take away the jerky camera movement after triggering a trap. Or put the jerky movement on a cd.

Urban is great for her. You dont trigger the trap randomly. You keep it for chases. And the camera swing is like leatherface's 3 chainsaw hits part of the power.

I think it's cheap, unfair, and annoying after the first time. It's useful for the jumpscare atmosphere, but I don't think it's intended to completely disorient a player again and again. It goes against the devs motto of not taking control away from the player.

There's no skill or strategy needed on behalf of the killer with the camera flips. And whether you are completely screwed by the camera flip is up to chance as the survivor.

Actually the best hag mains and similar activelly use that mechanic by learning the trap placement and all of the survivor's possible routes too. The traps's exact placement is key to it and it takes lots of time to do it perfectly. There are tons of mindgames with it its insane. I have to then disagree with the "no skill or strategy needed on behalf of the killer with the camera flips" sentence. Now hag is 3rd best . Bye bye huntress.

Good thing I play on ps4 then, huh?

Nah, I'll wait til a competent game comes on PS4 that has a similar concept done well. But believe me, all the killer players, he'll most of the PS4 community is about to leave the game. Let these patches come through with this bullshit survivor catering, the reviews will speak for themselves (hopefully)
  • So if I'm understanding right, they are going to give solo survivors kindred for free (meaning they will see killers that camp a certain distance), they are going to make hookrushing practically OP (kindred, auto reset on SB, invincibility on the survivor until they can hit the ground with SB so if the savior runs BT, you might as well just go for the savior instead) and they are also making stun time longer for pallet hits?

    I have just 2 questions.
    1. What will they do with kindred then? Probably make another meta perk, amirite?

    2. What are you going to do with insidious? Because for one, if you hate camping and tunneling so much devs, you pretty much have to change it, and two, camping outside of kindred radius is almost pointless if you aren't near a basement, more so with the buffs coming because stopping BT with insidious will just mean the survivor SB's away before you can get close enough to catch them ahead of loops and jungle gyms.

I mean they will gain a significant advantage on you now, and it isn't like survivors don't waste enough time as it is, this will just lead to increased death times because there will just be more hook switching. Also, yes this might stop tunneling and camping to some degree, but it will also increase slugging imo, which is probably the best way to play this game anymore anyway, but survivors DO NOT LIKE IT unless they happened to change a meta perk for unbreakable

So why are there two killers with the same ability to begin with why was Leather Face brought into the game?  Not complaining or anything just curious .
Do you think the instant down is fair or should be reworked into giving the hit survivor server bleeding and prevent them from being healed for 30 secounds. I mean I like this more honestly they're more then likely to lead you to other survivors this way.

Are we more likely to see more killers with the same ability this coming up season ?

Leather Face does have some great perks probably the only reason to even play him is for Franklin Demise

Both abilities do different things btw. One can hit multiple while the other can only hit one. Both have very different playstyles. Also getting rid of an insta down for a non heal is a nerf not a buff. The fact that you can't knock a survivor down and put them on a hook is a straight nerf.

Who said you can't knock them? You can knock them just not instant.. Why do you deserve a free hand out because you can't keep track of a survivor after hitting them.
I rather them not be abke to heal and have heavy bleeding to track them to other players and get multiple players than just getting one. Just in a more skillful way than holding down 1 button

Do you realize with your "buff" you'll only see LF camp a lot more? "Hmm, well I can't chase down survivors and instadown them anymore, but I have a chainsaw that hits multiple people, well, guess I gotta face camp the hook with my chainsaw rev'd" and why wouldn't he, since he is basically a neutered animal might as well, why go chase healthy survivors when you know you can't insta-down them and can't do anything to them unless you're right behind them. So you just discouraged chases with LF, good job

To jump it's been a default thing almost in every game, not asking for magic either...
Yes it is, but at the same time you don't want Killers, even those who are actually more agile than survivors like Pig and Freddy, not to jump through windows and pallets.

We all know you got destroyed by a Trapper, just deal with it and get better instead of asking the Devs for a counter that holds your hand.
I wasn't destroyed by a trapper, came up with the idea whe i saw another discussion talking about traps' size.
Oh, thanks for reminding us how small the traps are, another reason a counter specific to the trapper is unnecessary. So not only is there the advantage of running around the trappers anemic traps, but you want a vertical advantage too?
  • It was the mint rag set up. There's not really any way to counter that kind of hag play other than to gen rush and save when you are absolutely sure when safe. Thing is, you don't need to set her trap off for her to TP to it if she has a mint rag, she can do it at will. But if you get her to misuse it, she won't be able to teleport again for 15 seconds, regardless if you run over a trap or not.

If you notice a hag only placing one trap RIGHT BY THE HOOK instead of in a possible run lane (in order to cut you or the survivor, who is likely to run when their unhook happens, off) she is either a bad hag, is noticing reckless saves, or has mint rag and the moment she gets the notification you saved, she'll TP to you.

Another handy tip: once the match starts and your obsession is revealed, pause the game to match the name of the obsession to the survivor they are playing. This is especially helpful if you're playing as Wraith or Nightmare, as it saves you the trouble of decloaking or putting them to sleep just to find out.

    Solid tip there man

STBFL, it helps in chases so I don't know how it could be anything but great. I mean, it's not like the killer role has a perfect trifecta like survivors did. We have ruin as almost mandatory at high ranks, and of course many consider NC as the top killer perk period, then we have a bunch of perks that may or may not be useful at all during a match. STBFL is one of the ones that's always useful
  • I'll take it over slow traps, that's for sure. Then again, I'm not the type to spend money (or even ingame money) on cosmetics
  • So because the trapper and hag got a buff, you want an inbuilt counter? Lol you survivor mains man. This is why no one takes your complaints seriously, because while a killer main will ask for a balanced hatch (and get ######### on for it) survivors want to counter whole killers without using a perk smh..
  • Sometimes I really don't think Freddy is that awful. With no perks no add ons, yea he's trash, but one yellow add on makes a huge difference from where o stand, and that's his uncommon dress. Seriously, it has made escaping the dream world ridiculously hard to escape, I've 4kd at high ranks time and time again because people just assume they will stand there and heal cuz that skill check is spool close they can taste it. Then I come from half a map over and down them. Sure, placing them into the dream state takes forever, but who cares if they aren't getting out anytime soon, far as I'm concerned that means I'm allowed to look for others more often because I feel safe in doing so.
  • So I stand corrected. You play killer. Doesn't mean you are correct about all this. I don't know any killer mains who actually enjoy pallet loops, and that dead hard thing was just so hilarious I didn't take it serious.

I will say this, flashlights Wil take getting used to. But really, this is the problem survivors made. They, like you, wanted more chases and less stealth, so now they must tweak how chases work for both sides.

Most of what you said is ridiculous, but I do understand that frustration. It will take survivor players time to adjust, but they will, and the game will be the challenge to both sides it should have always been
  • Everyone who is saying, “You can just cleanse totems” how about, you just play Dr, use Enduring and Unnerving Presence, that way you don’t complain about DS. I mean, how often does your NOED actually not end up being active compared to the times you have. I would say at least 80% of the time it’s active for me, at rank 1
Two perks and a whole killer just for DS. That's the problem

The problem that survivor mains do not understand is that this patch had also nerfs for killers. You can say that there are aura reading abilities but killers use them right now because they feel different. A couple of days later, everybody will go back to their own build.

Tinkerer, one of the most powerful perks for killers, is buried into the ground. No more insta chainsaw billies, no more machine gun huntresses, and a lot of other killers' abilities get nerfed with this perk. The most powerful 3 killers have been affected by this change. Tinkerer is a funny perk right now but unless they do not buff it to %75, many people will not use it in the future.

They buffed trapper and hag but they won't get a place in tier 1. Nurse billy and huntress are still the strongest killers.

Instead of crying, both survivors and killers should try to improve themselves but no one seems to be doing this. They rather create posts where they cry and suggest nothing valuable.

I'll say this, you are very wrong about hag, she can at this point run with nurse and Billy. Huntress is DEFINITELY below her now, nerfs and all

Also, instead Billy was never necessary, his add ons still make his saw extremely fast charging, and on top of all that they nerf huntress over him when by all accounts he is by far the stronger killer.

Hag is definitely more powerful but no she can't run with nurse right now. Nurse is the 'improved version of hag'. As long as the nurse doesn't get nerfed, there will not be a better killer than her.

Billy is special because there is no killer that is faster than him even nurse (but it depends on the map as well i guess.) Hag can't run with billy as well because hag's movement speed is slow, doesn't have 1 hit ability, her power range is not that great especially for huge maps, urban evasion counters her whole power. If there is a flashlight, your power might become a bit useless. Also when you pick up somebody, survivors will try to destroy all of your traps as much as they can. There are many counters to her but not much against billy.

If you are good with hatchets, I don't think you can say that hag is better than huntress tbh but I accept that for some people she could be defined as the 3rd most powerful killer in the game. Not for me i guess

Since at least for me the top tier didn't change, buffing these killers is not that big of a deal. You are right about your comparison between huntress and billy. They should have nerfed billies' insta chainsaw instead of machine gun build but I think both of them was a little bit OP with these builds so I'll take it. Maybe in the future patches they can nerf billies' insta chainsaws too.

Respectfully disagree on how you view hag, but yea, I know she has a lot of seemingly detrimental inconveniences. She takes a almost completely different approach sometimes. And running into a hag traps when she downs someone is both A. Impractical, as you'd have to have been talking her all game, and good luck with no terror radius, a faster speed, and Claudette hag skin, not to mention she can place her traps ridiculously fast now AND her traps are pretty difficult to see

    B. Can very easily work against you, as I can just slug to great effect with the hag due to several factors, enforced heavily by the fact her terror radius is very small and she is probably the most OP use of nurses calling, the best perk on killer's side imo. If I'm running sloppy butcher, thanataphobia, and NC that game will be awful for survivors, add in MandA and that game will be quickly over.

You also should reconsider how powerful you think UE is. Not only is it not a meta perk that I almost never see ran anymore (mostly because hag is the least seen killer online, from my research) but it actually helps the hag to not have you running around her set traps until she wants you to run into them.

Seriously, practice hag with that dedication you put on Hillbilly. Do it with a hag mindset. Don't over commit to chases, especially if someone sets off a trap, try using your traps to force the survivor camera into awkward positions while in a chase, practice a few cheeky map specific tricks, and don't overly concern yourself with trapping gens. Play with the mindset that you are an unseen stealth killer who is setting up your den. Hell, play basement hag if you must. But give her a good few tries before you discount her.

Because I'm telling you, I haven't gotten more 3-4 minute 4 man wipes with ANY killer, including hillbilly, as often as I get them with hag.

Maybe I should start uploading my Hag games. Not that I'm some pro, just as a baseline to show how powerful she can be in ANY hands when played right.

i am tired of survivors complaining if u see killer is ´´easy´´ to play u haven´t play in high rank basiclly they will hide and do gens and if u chase somebody gens will be done u have to chase them genuinely and dont waste time in a chase u will pay it so stop complainning and try to improve

Are u talking to survivors main or killers main ? Who need to improve ?

You, you need to improve. Survivor has always been easy, that's why you liked chases so much, they were an easy, almost risk free way to occupy killers. Some window vaults and loop spots literally made killers unplayable on console (Huntress, you. You are almost completely destroyed by map rng on ps4)

You and all your SWF Buds are being ridiculous.

U need to improve in reading skills. I am the killer main, not survivor.
