Do Demos sleep? I can't remember. I expect they do.
If Jason sleeps demo sleeps 🤷♂️

Overall winner would probably be Demoboi. It eats bullets like nothing so most weapons wouldn’t do much, it can regenerate health quickly, it can travel and pull people into the upside down, and just in general is really strong and fast. I don’t think any killers could do anything against demo really, they might put up a fight but one good slash and most killers are down.
Fred just has to hit him once. Once demos asleep its "welcome to my world #########, ggs"

*Console survivors should stop complaining.
It doesn't impact killers because the survivors they go against operate the same across all platforms. Console killers have trouble aiming, but crossplay doesn't influence that.
Its the cockadoodee auto aim, is that a thing on pc? Because it legit makes me want to throw something. Some survivors know how to juke just right to cheese it

Except that life, and people, don't work around maths. Human behaviour doesn't operate to a formula, and human behaviour is what drives this game. Very few people play the game completely optimally, and I'm willing to bet no one does 100% of the time. Balance is only important insofar as it facilitates a positive gameplay experience - if the game is completely balanced on paper, but in practice one side dominates most of the time and no one is having fun, that's still a failure of design. On the contrary, I think the biggest mistake they could make would be balancing the game on a purely theoretical level rather than a practical one.
I dont disagree, but they can alter the formula a bit if its still not balanced.

None of these are legendary cosmetics. Legendary cosmetics completely change the character you're playing as, not their outfit.
For example, Lisa Garland is a legendary cosmetic for Cheryl Mason.
So then just no legendary skins for killers is what youre saying? Cause that sucks. How else would you do it for killers if not some of those examples given?

At the very least I hope with all the power of hoping, that all new killers from now on get a mini mori.
I really like tge torment mechanic and hope it makes it to other killers in the future, it would fit perfectly with Pinhead for example. Obviously hed need a different way to apply it, but it was a good idea.
Thats not to say every killer should have it. I think they should come up with things like that and apply them to varioys killers and have them do different things
-
@Fibijean i think desiging and balancing around kill rates is a mistake and why theyre having so much trouble. It should be based around math.
X number of pallets take Y amount of time to break + amount of time to walk in between those pallets = the amount of time it takes to complete 5 generators
Thats not meant to be the actual formula, just giving you an idea of what I mean.
The rules for games, as well as the win conditions, should be based on fairness, not trying to hit a desired outcome. Jmho
Ill also add even if you were trying to hit a certain kill rate, it should be 3k, not 2. The person that makes it out should feel like they actually accomplished something, and most movies have 1 survivor. But i still go back to math

Again, pretty weird if it's intentional, or it's just pairing groups with the lowest ranked person, not the highest.
Youre not a newbie, and it was mentioned in a QA that theyre testing matchmaking. Maybe their algorithm knows youre not a noob?

The 11 wasn't part of the group. But yeah, 6, 5, 20 getting matched like they're really low.
I could post these all day because it'll just keep happening over and over. If that's intentional, it's really weird.
I run solo all the time as red rank and im constantly getting matched up against lower ranks across the whole spectrum.

Stop being a bad killer. Its as simple as that.
1) Don't go after survivors that you find not on generators
2) Don't over commit to chases
3) Learn when to just hit and move on to another survivor
4) Corrupt Intervention/Slowdown perks
5) Play a killer that compliments your weaknesses. If you're trash at looping, play a killer that makes it harder. (Except Freddy. He's OP and Freddy shaming needs to be a thing)
6) Slug if you need to pull people off gens in a bind
Im going to go run forever freddy and tunnel off hook ebony mori camp all 4 of them right now just cause you said that.

I have heard from @Peanits in some threads I've made in the past, but the takeaway is always that the devs disagree that this is a major problem.
The most I've ever gotten was a "Removing multiple ranks from perks would make you run out of new perks to buy pretty quickly on your first characters" pushback to that idea. Which is admittedly true, but I also think anything of that sort would need to come with a pretty major rework of the game's whole perk unlocking logic. They answered a question I asked along these lines in one of their video Q&As (I think maybe in the Freddy rework time frame?).
Best case scenario, to me, is that I wish they would engage unambiguously in a discussion about this stuff, and explain what their position is on the randomness of not being able to target specific perks on specific characters, the enormity of this grind (thanks to the ever-growing volume of perks), and why they feel it's not an urgent quality-of-life issue, especially for new players. I'd like to see them discuss churn, player retention, and their opinion on new players who get scared away from engaging deeper with the game because the grind is intimidating. I've never seen them have any sort of real discussion about these things. I really just want to see a developer pin an official studio position to it, and justify it as thoroughly as possible.
He makes a fair point on that but SOMETHING needs to be done. Even if you just double tge blood points people currently earn. Something. Because it IS a problem for newer players

"Casual is when you hop on to a game to chill with a bunch of mates and just have an overall enjoyable experience. I think Competitive play comes in when you want to win your next game to “rank up” or improve your stats. The drive to improve and get better with every match you play."
This is the first thing that comes up when you type casual vs competitive. The majority of DBDs playerbase doesn't have a drive to improve in every match they play. Hence, why the majority of the playerbase is bad at the game.
You can play a competitive game casually. That doesnt make the gsme itself casual.
Ill repeat myself for those in the back, no game that requires literal actual hundreds of hours to get good at is casual. Not 1.

This game is casual. If it weren't, there wouldn't be such a massive amount of bad players.
Nope. Wrong. Theres nothing casual about the skill gap required, theres nothing casual about the grind, and theres nothing casual about the messages people send when they lose. Any game that requires literally hundreds of hours to get good at is not casual. Claiming otherwise is just simply disingenious af

@deadbyhitbox said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1308778#Comment_1308778
Why would you ever balance a casual game around the best players? Great players are very uncommon in this game. If you were to balance around the best of the best you'd throw the majority of your playerbase out the window to accommodate the small number that are very good. If you balance this way in a casual game, you lose most of your casual players, the ones who make up a massive chunk of your playerbase. This is a fantastic way to kill your game.
For the majority, the game is well balanced.
This isnt a casual game, evidenced by the salty messages I get when I win. Absolutely nobody treats this as a casual game until its time to talk about balance

Reduce his chainsaw charge time, increase his speed while charging (right now its like 86ms), reduce tantrum time when bumping into objects.
Leatherfaces map pressure comes from getting downs very quickly. Since he doesnt and shouldnt move across the map at billys speed he should make up for that by having a faster chainsaw.

You don't balance a game around the top 5% and screw over the 95%. That literally is the worst way you could possibly balance a game like this.
Yeah well most game developers and gamers alike disagree with you. Its not about "accomidatiin" its about having a game thats fairly balanced. Balance is not about outcomes, its about what is possible. They didnt balance monopoly and set game rules around which piece won more often, thats stupid. They set tge game rules in a fair way and who ever wins wins. Right now it is possible for you to go into a game as survivor and win 100% of tge time based on your skill level. Right now it is not possible for me as a killer to go into a match and win 100% of the time based on my skill level.
And I dont mean that killers have to win 100% of the time for the game to be balanced, what I mean is the absolute best survivors will always beat the absolute best killers unless RNG seriously screws them. That is not balance.

Just because the survivors are really good and work 4 different gens from the get-go doesn't mean every survivor group does. You can't balance the game against the SWF-Seal Team 6. Killers already get more than 2 kills on average, according to the last time stats were release by Devs in November, so if anything, gen speeds need to be increased not decreased.
I think i can speak for most killers in that if they made gens get done faster i would uninstall this game and never look back.
And yes, you do balance around top level play. If you dont your game is unbalanced

I hate those games, generally I let the killer get some hits or hooks at the end and encourage them in post game chat. This is the kind of game that is going to cause a killer shortage and long survivors queues
I send words of encouragement as well.
-
Without bbq or the survivor version bp boost, and assuming 20k per match at 15 minutes per match it would take 12.5 hours to get 1 million bps.
1 million takes 1 character to lvl 35. If you have a specific build in mind for a specific character (well assume none of the perks you want are for the character youre playing)
Thats 50 hours to get 4 characters to level 35. Say another million to get those characters from 35 to 40 and then your chosen character to 15 (4 perk slots). Youre looking around 62.5 hours.
The trouble is, this is at 20k per game. Straight up noobs, especially survivor noobs, are not getting 20k per game. So its probably closer to 100

yeah but how long are the games if you guys do gens? 2 minutes lol its sill imo and it isn't fair to them or the survivors as the killer will get bullied and the survivors will just depip even though they escape its boring imo me and my friends literally mess around and let the killer get points and hook us and all that to make it somewhat fun for the killer. on top of that we get rank 20 after rank 20 then a rank 1 and we are so used to rank 20s we arent ready lololol
Yes! Thats the worst when youve gotten like 5 low rank killers in a row then all of a sudden a rank 1 youre just not prepared for 😂
Because I run solo a lot of times my teammates will also be super low rank so tgey take forever to get gens done. Its rare i see 4 solo reds get put up against a low rank killer, hit happens but is rare.
All of that isnt of course taking away from them needing to fix MM

I would definitely agree that the skill ceiling for survivor is way higher than that of killers , killer is given so many tools to outplay survivors and survivors frankly aren’t , they’re given a few good perks that prolong chases and survivors can outplay killers but generally isn’t it the point of the game for killers to be given the win rlly ? (DEAD by Daylight) I don’t agree it should be that way but should it even be a debate that survivor is the x1000000 harder role cos it just kinda...is.
I love killer and it’s fun but the game just isn’t balanced , you have to sweat like hell (like planning out your perks to counter the killer {calm spirit>Doctor} which you are likely to not even go against that killer statistically) just to have a chance at survivor at red ranks.
Some of us want to play casually and not it be constantly a ranked match ; where’s the ‘quick play’ y’know ? I enjoy the game but just wanna vibe on it - I’m evidently good at the game and stayed in red ranks on both roles but survivor was much harder and I had to play a bit harder to have fun and do well in a match while the killer was having a breeze.
Its all just a lot of effort and I wish the devs would implement a casual game mode or even out the playing field more distinctively just a little so survivors don’t HAVE to SWF along with each one sweatin out their ears to have a half decent match.
Everything about this post confuses me. I play in reds for both sides too and my experience is vastly different. And how did you come to the conclusion that the skill ceiling on survivor is higher? You just play nascar simulator and run in circles most of the time

Another trap spot that cannot be disarmed is on haddiesfield. The houses that have roofs you need to vault windows to get to. If you vault the window and plant a trap. They can't get to it to disarm it. If they use that window they will get trapped.
I love this and do it often. Good tip
-
@FFirebrandd said:
In a word? Potential.
If Trapper is set up, theoretically he can instantly down all 4 survivors, one right after the other and just straight up win in 30 seconds if they keep stepping in traps. Pyramid Head can't do that. Most killers can't do that really. Which is why his power is... kinda clunky compared to most other killers.
Also, consider Hag, the other primary trapping killer in the game. She has all her traps from the word go... but to pay for that: she's slower, her traps can't deal direct damage, her traps can't really insta down (outside of help from Exposed perks), and her traps can get burned by flashlights... and she's still good. Giving Trapper all his traps would actually make him insanely strong.
Yeah thats fair.
Trapper should start with and be able to carry 2 at base, but also they should have the traps spawn closer to the center so tgeyre not way off in la la land.
Last just slightly uptick how fast he sets traps at base. Just a smidge.

you stack 1 mil BP, I have over 100k shards, you buy all the perks in shrine and stack those BP + your 1 mil then grind the rest.
I had my legion p3 the day he came out doing that, any killer main can p3 a killer in a matter of days so its at best a couple days of stopping us from having p3?

you didnt immediately have anything, you stacked the points, there is no difference between stacking 1 mil x 5 and having a 5 mil blood point cap.
To think otherwise is simply desire to argue about nothing.
edit added: right now I am p3ing Oni, wont play him until I get him p3,.. whats the diff? None,
Thats not true, its a little different. 1 million gets a new character to lvl 35. At level 35 youre still missing ALOT. 5million and youd have everything on that character (if not prestiging). All perks and a ton of add ons.
Im not saying i agree with them, but i do understand where theyre coming from. They want you to play the character before having the best stuff/builds.

As mentioned, this is my first game (documented game anyway, but I can’t recall from memory a game so quick) that I’ve ever had out if thousands. So I’m not complaining about the match, I can accept the loss and move on, was just supporting OP’s topic of gen speeds being too quick with a specific example.
Yeah its interesting thats your first. Theyre pretty frequent on xbox.
