Because people don't do it. It takes multiple reports of the same person to get anything done. As it should.
Nah, 90% of tge stuff that people report on isnt a bannable offense. The other 10% you need to report in game AND send in video evidence. And of the people that go through all that a lot are ignored. I reported a lag switcher months ago, never heard a thing back on my ticket thats still sitting in pending

As for viability without add ons, yes i agree. Thats why I like Fred and doc, you can run them with no add ons and still be competitive.

Nah, people just don't rate an report as they should, so there is no consequence.
Rate and report does absolutely nothing

I feel like every other game as Killer I get flashlight clicked at, t bagged at pallets, and bullied in end chat by a SWF group telling me to die of cancer. I don't get as many toxic people as survivor, but why are people like this? This community can be so toxic and I don't get why. Entitlement? Maybe. Even when people get what they want I get insulted relentlessly. The community gets a bad rep from people like this. Idk, maybe its just me. Just tired of people feeling the need to be mean as hell. Every game has toxic people, but I see it especially here.
I wish people took the time to be toxic at this point. Its been gen rush city all week and im over it

Recently I see more and more survivor doing this "tech" that consists of stunning with a pallet, vaulting it and running away behind the killer. Contrary on what you'd expect, rarely it is done to trigger Lithe.
It took me a bit by surprise the first time, but after that it just make it easier to hit them since I don't have to break the pallet or go around it. I really don't understand what it is supposed to do...

Once again you want to destroy 99% of the survivor play base just to combat 1%. Just sounds like killer entitlement to me.
You don't need to play Spirit and Freddy to always beat these teams they can be beaten by every other killer if you play well. People seem to forgot only 1/10 swf teams are actually good. Even with meta perks they still can be beaten if you play correctly.
For instance with the old Bubba who was considered by many to be low tier, I was able to get 3/4 every single game at red ranks. Before his change I only lost 2/40 games as Bubba. I faced all the 4 man swfs, with keys, with meta builds, on haddonfield and ormond but I played well enough and beat them. If your a good enough killer you will put up a pretty good fight against them.
If you get a bad map then you just have to accept that if you lose then you couldn't do much anyway. I got destroyed as Billy the other day against a swf because they got Hawkins and wouldn't allow me to use my chainsaw. I just accepted that I got unlucky with the map and they played well. I wasn't upset or annoyed since it just wasn't a good map for me.
Once they add the early game slowdown mechanic then there should be no more complaining from anyone about gen speeds.
Ok but that would put you at the top 1% of killers. 99% of tge killers cant do that. Why is it cool to keep the game easy for 99% of survivors but 99% of kilkers can f off?
-
I think there should be a speed limit cap. Gens should never finish faster than 60 secs and should never slow to more than a 100. Thats in addition to whatever theyre doing to the beginning of the game. Increasing the gen times above 80 seconds doesnt seem like a good option. But that doesnt mean nothing needs to be done.
Maybe the issue isnt even gens. What would chases look like if they cut the hit cooldown in half and reduced the survivor hit speed up by half. What if they reduced the number of pallets by half.
Someone called it "chase speed to gen speed ratio" and thats a perfect way of saying it. When you do the math on how many many hits you need to get in so many seconds its ridiculous.

The Hag is just a glorified camper. Everyone of them (except the ones with a broken keyboard/controller who cannot physically hold the necessary button for marking).
I've heard mention of a possible solution, and it only seems fair: have all Hag marks within 12m of the hook be removed when a survivor is unhooked. You cannot possibly believe that a survivor is supposed to crouch-walk up to the hook, unhook, and both are supposed to crouch-walk away before the Hag returns, do you? (Wait, ofc you do; it's been like this since Hag was released)
The Trapper cannot put traps close to the hook. The Executioner cannot leave trenches near the hook.
When i was a noob id line the hook with trapper traps, so yeah you can. Just not under the hook.
Hags fine, there are plenty of counterdms to trapped hooks including crouch walking

Whats frustrating about that is a few numbers changes is all he needs. Start with and caryy 3 traps at base, smidge of a buff to his setting speed. Done.
It would be nice if the traps all spawned closer to the center too but I can live without that until they have time to prioritize it. Those otger changes were talking about an hour or 2 worth of work. Theres really no excuse for it taking 4 years to do. Hell letting him reset traps would have taken more coding.

If this is how it works now then I missed that patch awhile ago and haven't noticed legions playing with Legion Pin in awhile because that is much much easier to make use of in that case
Yeah I cant speak to what it did before, thats 100% how it works now. Like I mentioned its my favorite add on coupled with a FF duration increase. The mangeled one works the same way and is really good too

At a high level it can be decent on Legion to. Survivors like to jump in a locker to counter ff, they want you to stab the locker instead of them. Suprise!

Its description in-game:
"Hitting a survivor highlighted by killer instinct while in Feral frenzy applies the broken status effect for 60 seconds"
If I read this description, the first thing that I understand, is that whenever I apply a deep wound effect, they will also get the broken status effect at the same time.
But this is not always the case.
Sometimes they get broken in the first hit, sometimes in the second hit, and sometimes they don't get broken.
Does this add-on have a hidden cooldown or something? What am I missing?
Moreover, the description of this add-on in the official wiki differs from the in-game one. This makes me even more confused.
How does this add-on really works?
Not sure what the other person is talking about, I use this add on all the time, its my favorite add on. The first person you hit will not be broken as they are not highlighted by killer instinct, every subsequent person you hit while in FF will become broken. The issues youre referring to Ive never experienced, it has always worked and I play ALOT of Legion. My guess is youre experiencing some kind of bug? Try recording it not working.

I can count on one hand the amount of times the game pooped the bed on me and became virtually unplayable (so I guess I can't say I've NEVER had frame rate become an issue but that was clear from the very beginning of the match that something was wrong with the game).
I honestly don't know if I'm in the minority here and my Xbox is just a champ, if I'm the majority but we have nothing to complain about so you don't hear from us, or what...

1 key is located in a box.
If theres 4 boxes then the survivor has a 25% chance of finding it.
If theres 5 boxes they have a 20% chance of finding it.

This thread is so much circlejerking with the devs lol that I'm bewildered why you guys even defend them. How are you guys going to defend the connection now?
You werent talking about the connection. Dont shift the conversation because your original point was foolish. You were talking about body blocking, which is legit you being outplayed. Get better.

Slugging is fine. Slugging for the sake of slugging, is boring. I dislike when the killer slugs me, then wanders off for whatever reason, coming back to check on me, then moving off again. I actually feel bad when someones on thd ground that long. When i slug its because i want someone to get off a gen to come get them, not because i want them to bleed out. If they bleed out their teammates are dicks and deserve to lose

I love playing Trapper, but I kinda suck with him. My biggest problem is that I am unable to get traps out in time. I either don't get out enough and am basically just a m1 killer, Or I get out enough but lose a few gens. I've been using corrupt a lot as of late but I don't wanna become too reliant on it. What should I do? Is it better to lose one or should I hold off on it? I've only been playing him for a week and wanna get better.
Use a bag and the addons that increase trap setting speed. Put 1 or 2 traps down then look for survivors. Put traps down/collect traps WHILE your chasing. This ones fun.
The other way is to 3 gen and puts traps down on every way in and out of that area and on the loops. This is time consuming, youll likely lose 3 gens setting up, but if youre good at trap placement its very deadly and very difficult for survivors to combat. You can/will still lose of course and its not good for pips, but it can be effective.
I hate corrupt personally. My build is bbq, pop, enduring and brutal.

The last data they posted revealed Trapper is the most played killer in the game and has similiar kill rate than Ghost Face and higher than Huntress. So I'm pretty sure they think Trapper is fine.
Proof: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/106566/stats-november-2019
That was when old ruin was a thing. He and hsg were the only ones that could passively protect ruin, of course he had a high kill rate. In addition to that logic would dictate hes picked most heavily in tge lowest ranks and tapers off at the high ranks, thats because hes not that hard to counter once you know him and how hes usually played. Last Id point out that that data has nurse as tge weakest killer. I believe the data shows that because tge skill ceiling is so high. If 9 out of 10 nurses suck with her because shes so hard that would drastically lower her kill rate. This illistrates WHY breaking these numbers out by something else (i.e. rank, hours played, skill level etc) is so important. Everyone knows nurse is the deadliest killer in the right hands, point being its to be taken with a grain of salt.
All of that said, he doesnt suck hes just a little weak

@Eleghost said:
Bags are a must on him but i don't think he should have the ability to hold more than 1 after placing his traps unless an add-on is used. Basically give him 2 or 3 starting but can hold only 1 after deploying them.
Why? Hes the only killer limited so heavily from using his power so unnecessarily. Wraith is the only one who comes close.
-
Yeah its pretty awful without bags. Id also recommend increasing his trap base setting speed by just a touch.

The timing issue is mostly there on an injured.
Like I said downing isn't bad timing. It isn't the best because you are about to go through the hook process, but it's still at a time where the information helps. Contrast BBQ activating when you HOOK a Survivor which is PERFECT timing, since that's when you go "ok done with that Survivor, who's next". The duration is long enough that it will still be active post hook, but still.
Either way the point is that the perk is easy conditions on a nothing reward. Whereas Surge's payoff is actually ok, but the conditions hold it back too hard.
Yeah agree, so a better version of gearhead would look something like this:
Upon downing a survivor, the nearest gen actively progressing is highlighted in yellow. Cooldown of 60/50/40 secs (ish, not sure if that would make it op, longer than 60 seems to much though).
Surge I think just needs a shorter cooldown and regressing in general needs a bit of a buff
-
DH can be super frustrating, but also very satisfying when they use it and you dont fall for it. Like a last pathetic gasp of life slipping away
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1571604#Comment_1571604
Not really.
Gearheads problem is the poor payoff. Just getting 2 basic attacks is easy. But then once the perk is active... nothing really happens?
Like, knowing a Survivor is on a gen obviously isn't awful, but the perks timing ranges from alright to awful.
By timing I mean how well the effect synergizes with the activation condition. So for example Tinkerer is a better perk than Dark Devotion primarily because of timing, when Survivors are just randomly doing a gen somewhere and are probably focused on completing it is great timing for undetectable, when you JUST hit a Survivor and everyone knows you are chasing them (and more importantly if you STOP chasing them), AND the closest Survivors just heard you hit someone, not nearly as great of a time to be undetectable.
So, Gearhead activates in 1 of 2 scenarios:
- You injure someone
- You down someone
If you injure a Survivor then you still want to chase them, so the information is redundant because you already know where a Survivor is.
If you down a Survivor then things are a bit better, but the time spent carrying the Survivor still eats into the perks activation time. This btw is part of why BBQ is so great, it has amazing timing compared to other tracking perks.
Well the condition is also for them to hit a skill check, thats stupid. It would be better if it just lit up the nearest gen being worked on.
As far as gearheads timing is concerned if you just downed someone thats a great time to pressure a nearby gen you know is being worked on 😁
-
@LowSpecGamersMatter said:
This perk COULD be so good if it hasnt so many conditions. It has a cooldown condition, a range condition and on top of that a basic attack condition.
Why the basic attack condition? Makes it so underwhelming
EDIT:
So I started using it a bit and the cooldown is waaay to long. The cooldown alone was already restricting to much. I could use it 2-3 times average per match. thats 8+8+8= 24% regress. Less than ONE SINGLE POP KICK!!! And POP doesnt even have a cooldown, I can spam it as long a gen isnt regressing!
HELLO BHVR, dont u see how underwhelming this perk is?
Gearheads tge same way. Great perk cucked by an oppressive condition.

First off I'm not a fan of calling a 360 an exploit. Yes console is affected by horrible FPS and I can understand why people could consider the term as a result, but I still feel its far more logical to try and move unpredictably to avoid a hit rather than run straight. I would hazard a guess the vast majority of players are not hunting "millisecond frames" to mess with hit detection but rather move unpredictably to avoid an easy hit.
As a mainly console player 360's are far more potent than PC. For obvious reason the frame rate and overall connection to one another are often not as strong as PC, so such sudden movement can catch you off guard. It is not difficult to hit a 360 when you A: Gain a little game knowledge or B: Start to expect all survivors will try it (sorta like Dead hard), and while the animations may seem off at times if you really look at the swing time and were the survivor was at that moment they make sense, again animations may seem off due to connection.
As for the camera following survivors, this is intended as the "hit" had already been registered as the game tries its best to sync the animations up to it. This is so hit seem more "natural" and less janky, yes we still have plenty of jank but it would be much worse if the animation sync was also none existent.
So my final thought are, 360's are a last ditch effort to avoid a hit and unless used against an inexperienced player will result in little to no length in survival time.
Its not about fps, though thats part of the problem, but its more about what it does to your camera thanks to aim dressing

I spend 99% of my time playing survivor, so my killer rank has never gone beyond 19-20. I mainly just play for fun or when I have a daily ritual or something. I won't be destroying any red rank swf groups anytime soon, but I do ok. Tonight, I got a group of survivors that I could tell were fairly new... and I mean brand new... 3 out of 4 were opening up DBD for the first time new (I didn't know that until after the match). After 3 were dead, I found the 4th still working on generators when most would have been scouring the map trying to find hatch (which I had found and closed, eventually). After I downed her, it dawned on me. This baby Meg probably doesn't even know what a hatch is. So, I picked her up and walked over to the door and let her wiggle off but she was so scared that she immediately ran. I just stood there watching, as she frantically dropped pallets along the way, thinking I was after her. She ended up letting the timer run out, I'm guessing because she was too afraid to try to open the other door. Had I known they were brand new I probably would have gone easier on all of them tbh.
Sorry for the novel but I needed context for my question, which is - Does anyone else ever feel bad like that? Or do you take a more 'rip the band-aid off' approach?

I keep seeing posts of games by good streamers where they get gen-rushed and completely lose the match. Lots of the comments just say that the killer in question should just 'pressure the gens' and then point out every small mistake the killer makes and blames that for why they lost the game.
This is very unfair because these survivors expect us to make 0 mistakes the whole game or we lose. Playing killer at the moment is so stressful because you have to be using your time extremely efficiently or all the gens pop instantly. It's not good for the balance of the game when making a few small mistakes will lose you the game as killer, but as survivor you have access to perks like DH that allow you to recover from a mistake so easily.
Most killers can't be in multiple places at once, and the killers that are just M1 killers with no map mobility literally can't do anything at all against a competant team.
The problem is, BHVR won't balance the game around the potential that good survivors have, because most survivors simply are very bad. THey balance the game around rank 10-15 claudettes who hide in bushes. It's a tough situation for them.
In general I agree with you. But in regards to the tru3 vid that was posted tgese werent small mistakes. He made a few very large mistakes that cost him that game.

So i just watched whole video, i was curious about what is all this commotion.
Damn, dude, he was in chase in first 30 seconds, sometimes i cant find someone in 2-3 minutes. xD He got 2 hits in first minute, and hook before 2 minutes... What more can you do? I mean, seriously, HOW MUCH MORE YOU CAN DO IN 2 MINUTES?
Swings at speed burst? That was a mistake? No, it was efficiency, basically muscle memory move and even i can see that, i could not do that so fast myself. I can say even more - waiting for him to run would be stupid there, because that is one of 50 perks, lol.
There is almost no point of reading this, because it is most stupid post you can make. He played almost perfectly... YOU WOULD PLAY AT LEAST 2x WORSE. AT LEAST. And you are judging him? Come on, show us your video Spirit Vs Red SWF and we will talk then. Show us this perfect game, show us you are better, show us this cybernetic skill you have. :-) If you cant, everything in this post is just pointless. And we know you can, you know this... And this dude in video is also not a robot, he is player, like you and me, but if you dont see how much skill he have... well, youe must be blind.
I played against SWF once, red one, dont know why, because im rank 10, but i did... 2 hooks, 0 kills, less than 5 minute game.
You can look through my post history, its rsre I agree with Scott, but hes not wrong here. He lost 3 gens at tge beginning and felt defeated so didnt really try from there. He put 2 survivors in the basement with no intentions of camping them, that wasted a lot of his time. He never checked the other gens when he did have time and was suprised when they popped. He dropped his power several times to get a hook instead of leaving the slug and using his power to get across the map quickly (this is bread and butter Oni).
These were his 2 biggest mistakes: putting people in tge basement and not camping, he could have hooked either of them on a closer hook and immediately went to another gen. Either basement camp or dont, this half in half out ######### aint it.
Dropping his power multiple times to get a hook instead of using demon dash to get across the map.

Killer Perks:
Wicked Game: Pressing the active ability on a regressing gen causes the next 1/2/3 people to touch that gen to lose a health state (does not inflict dying and only applies to one gen). Takes 1 second to apply.
Salt: Survivors in the dying state bleed out 30 secs/45 secs/ 1 minute faster.
Hard Luck: Survivors Luck is reduced by 50%
Survivor Perks:
Bully : stunning a killer causes a 150% speed boost for 3 secs. Causes the exhaustation status effect for 60/50/40 secs.
Take a beating: being both exhausted and injured hides your scratch marks for 10 secs.

I get that but killers do know that camping, especially early game IS annoying to the other side and DOES ruin people's games. The only time I'd say camping was okay is end game. Camping then at least makes sense. But to camp me after one chase is just rude and scummy. And they know it.
