I dont see this chsnging gameplay in any meaningful way except that it will be easier to get tokens so more people are going to run it. If anything it means they have to give up something useful for it.

Use different perks? The meta shouldn't be a monlith. Use Thanataphobia. That got a buff. Clown has a perk that slows healing. Perfect combo.

Okay and why is the killer doing other things before he uses his pop unbalanced?

Just criticizing the lines of reasoning/logic the devs are using that they might apply to other things.
This. Its not about the 15 seconds. Its the principle behind the thinking that irritates me.

Pop's duration is being reduced because we found you could spend too much time doing other things and still have it available.
Literally the problem with ds people have been saying for years. Never heard a single person say it about pop
-
@Tactless_Ninja said:
Seems so. Someone would get hooked, they'd down another person, regress gen, hang second person, then have Pop all primed again.
It's either to create more urgency in using pop first, or is actually an indirect Freddy nerf since he's the main killer that benefits.
This isnt going to impact high mobility killers at all. It impacts the killers that actuslly need it, like clown or trapper.

@Kebek said:
I wonder how will devs respond to this (if at all). I'd be nice to see some further changes to DS making it more of an anti-tunneling perk rather then anti-momentum perk.
They wont. If they do it will be an off hand comment on a thread. Nothing will change

Yes "easy" counterplay on Hawkins or every other Indoor map, just cleanse every game all 5 Totems while you getting chased and do 2 Gens on you one 4head
I didnt say it was easy. Yes on hawkins and indoor maps it will be difficult, but on other maps its easy. You can run perks/items that make it easier.

A Bug is a Bug, even if it is a weak Perk which is bugged.
I think the point is there are a 100 other bugs that should have taken priority. There are probably 20 otger perks that need to be adjusted before messing with this one. Its a weird thing to spend time on.
UNLESS theres a perk coming that would somehow make this actually an issue. Like the surveillance fix now makes sense with undying release

I haven’t really been playing survivor lately because every time I que up (solo) it’s always a secret offering which is 95% of the time an ebony mori. I’ve completed all of the killer challenges on this current tome and I don’t think there’s a challenge to kill someone by your hand as killer OTHER than the devour hope challenge. So what is up with all these moris? Especially to solo que survivors? Did people find out that moris were getting reworked or something? If I do happen to load into a mori match which I try not to by dodging most of the time, I usually just kill myself on hook or give up. It’s so unfair and unfun to go against moris which is why I hardly ever use them.
I never use moris, some of the challanges are easier with a mori. So twice today ive brought ebony. Is what it is.

You need luck to kill multiple Obsessions. Survivors can and will avoid stunning you to mess with your challenge even if it means their death. I had bad luck because all but one Survivor team I went up against played that like that. You had good luck because your Survivors weren’t like that.
Then i get lucky a lot

You got lucky with your Survivors then. It would have taken you longer if you gotten Survivors that know you want your challenge and try to deny you of any progress at all costs.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1639604#Comment_1639604
That one’s not that bad because you just need to run the perk. You can run infinite tier 3 Myers with Ebony Mori to help complete it without relying on totem RNG and as backups in case you mess up during your first tier 3 or a Survivor DCs during a Mori.
Earlier today I was working on the one where you have to leave after other survivors. Killer quit, i got 3 stacks for it. THAT was luck. Killing multiple obessions in a game to finish it faster isnt.

Love, Tinkerer gives them the easy intel for them to pressure the necessary gens. So in that regard they do get value off Ruin since they are getting people off them. The conplaint I have is that it is a braindeas build. It's lazy and requires no active braincells from the killer player at all. Since most survivors are boosted, this build dominates heavily die to them not knowing how to go against it.
Youre contradicting yourself. You said they dont know what pressure is while then saying it allows them to apply pressure. Then you say it encourages gen rush, which isnt possible if the killer is applying pressure.
As far as "braindead" is concerned, this is silly. You expect the killer to know where every survivor is at every moment and exactly what gen theyre working on at all times and know it to a level that they know they need to break chase and go pressure a specific gen because its getting close to being done. Meanwhile, all you have to do is hold m1 and know where the nearest pallet is. Seems pretty absurd to me you have that level of expectation to the level that you want to chastise someone for making it a little easier.

DS is there to make sure a killer doesn't get a free pass by seeing no one is an Obsession. Plus it's free points vs killers that don't give a crap about tunneling and focusing the 'vulnerable' people. But sure, you keep spouting the generic responses, love
Undying + Ruin is there to encourage the survivors to do the secondary objective. See, i can play that game too.

This new build actually encourages gen rush. Since you can't afford not to do gens vs a killer using this build. So that response makes zero sense.
People gen rush anyway. If you can effectively pressure gens it slows the gen rush down, then they say screw it and start popping totems. It doesnt work if you dont pressure gens
-
@Onyx_Blue said:
Ruin + Undying + Tinkerer
Slap this on a killer, particularly a high mobility one, and you got yourself the most boosted player you will ever see.
These players do not know what pressure is to save their life. You can feed their build and try to cleanse totems to get rid of their perks, or you can just get a gen high progressed and lead them away, go back to it when they leave you (because they will) and bam, the player is exposed as the bot they are. The fact this is a build to vs almost every game is ridiculous. The calibre of player skill level in dbd is utter garbage XD this builds proves it to be that way.
If they dont know what pressure is ruin would do them no good.

Trust me, the first chase is the only chase you will get against me playing OoO. I got many really toxic and annoying and/or sweaty SWF teams that abused this perk.
So if i get you on a hook you either never leave it or get slugged after leaving it just to make sure you get on a hook 60 seconds later.
I basically just mirror the fun i have being OoO.
Yup. And then they complain

I think it's just something to ######### about. The same way so many killers think SWF is just impossible to beat and ruins the game. As a killer I don't mind object at all. -
@Babyyy_Boyy said:
Aside from playing Hag and Trapper, Why is this perk so annoying to killers? A lot of killers say that it’s broken in a SWF because the user can make call outs but in a SWF even without the perk the whole team will make call outs, that’s the point of comms. I personally don’t mind it when playing Killer because I like to see how the survivor performs in chase with it and I’ll feel good knowing that I outplayed them at some point of the chase. I actually use Object Of Obsession in solo que more than anything because if the killer decides to go for you, you can improve on your chases. I also use it because 80% of the time my teammates don’t do well in chases so it can buy time if the killer goes for you.
Because the hardest thing in this game is hitting a survivor twice. Usually the goal is to reduce the amount of time it takes to get that first hit, OoO means youre for sure going to have to have to chase that person before you get that first hit. Long chase too. On top of that youve got someine calling out your every move to the entire team, at least you HAVE to assume they are. Additiinally its just annoying watching someone on the other side of the map doing gens and knowing theres nothing you can do about it. If you go at them theyre running away before youre even close. Its legit a broken perk.

How can it be that a SWF full, every single one of them, Red rank gets matched with a green killer? Are you telling me that there are ZERO other survivors playing that are more suited for my rank or what?
Seriously, why even have ranks at this point... or are you going to tell me there was truly no better killer out there to face them?
It happens, the alternative would be you waiting to find a match for 30 mins. Its better to focus on what you can do better instead of the rank of your opponents.
Off hand your build needs work. Nurses calling isnt great on a non stealth killer. Combining ruin and CI is a bad idea since the survivors are moving around looking for totems as they look for a gen to work on. I recommend looking at those things.

This is a silly argument. Youre saying because Last Year isnt doing as well as dbd in sales no component of it can be better than dbd. So sales = a better game. By this logic Candy Crush is one of the greatest games ever made. COD Ghosts was better than Battlefield 4. No RPG comes close to being as good as Skyrim. Do you need more examples or can you see why this was a silly thing to say. Idk if ops idea is a good one or not, just that your argument is foolish

how rare are the de pip squads let me make this clear not swfs, not death squads, real depip squads that leave teammates to die on hook just to do gens in order to depip the killer, because i meet those squads once every like 200 matches
I dont care how rare you think they are. The fact that its possible means everyone not doing that is bad at the game since its clearly possible. Theyre also not nrarly as rare as people suggest once you hit r1 and 2. And even if they come for the dude during egc and you get 3 or 4 hooks out of it, how does that invalidate what im saying. Theres nothing fun about chasing survivors through 14 pallets and 15 windows to get 2 or 3 hooks before gens done and then have to camp to hopefully eek out a kill during egc. Thats lame af.

@BDS22 said:
First off let me say I appreciate the work Hexy put into this tournament and respect the guy but I don't think the scoring was handled the right way because if you're gonna call them the best a good SWF team wouldn't leave a member behind, some of these teams could've made saves but purely didn't because of being nervous of giving the other team another point for a hook. Maybe the game isn't a great tournament game, but I would've loved to see all teams try to get every survivor out like an actual game. For me it just didn't show the skill the teams potentially had because they were more worried about a scoreboard.
Leaving a team member behind is very often the right play. 1k is a loss always.

Seeing Spirit get crapped on again and again, even "teh best spirit in teh world aaron!1"
I told y'all ages ago she's not as godlike as people make out. The real strength of 4 people on comms is spreading out the gens, Spirit and most killers simply can't deal with that. That's why I don't find it surprising that the one Billy we saw had a much better performance. He can patrol the map and the instadown saves so much time per chase.
Its why swf is so powerful in the game too. You don't need to be tournament level just to decide to rush the middle gens and leave the final few gens spread out.
You dont even need swf, just teamates that arent potatos and do gens when they arent being chased
-
@Kumnut768 said:
dbd is no tournament game.
you cant pull out one group of specific matches and say oMG SuRvIVoRs oP, there are way too many variables that go into dbd matches especially at high level play. you cant say there was nothing they could do, because there are LITERALLY MILLIONS of outcomes of a dbd match based heavily on a players decicions early game and RNG
Its not one group of matches. Depip squad proved all this a long time ago. Its not new.

How people like Otz can say that the legion isn't top tier is BEYOND me. Going against a level 1 legion is damn near impossible. Especially if they have infectious freight, barbeque and chili, sloppy butcher, and thanatephobia. He can see where u are, vaults pallets, vaults windows like whats his flaw??? I really want to hear this one. The guy is top tier in my opinion.
Well his flaw is if everyone stays split up and keeps working gens instead of healing his power becomes worthless and hes easily looped. Basically this means its very easy to gen rush him. Killer tier levels are determined by how easy they are to gen rush. Spirit and nurse and bilky are harder to gen rush because they have high mobility (which legion has) AND theyre hard to loop (which legion does not have).
Legions mid tier, not low tier. He is underrated.

There is, I agree. Truthfully that tactic that counters legion counters every killer and Ive beat some really good teams with him. Hes better than he gets credit for.
-
@BitingSea said:
I don't understand why he's so hated and so low tier to people. Yea his counter is splitting up and not healing, but survivors usually don't know where each other are all the time and at some point meet up. A survivor being injured is either a good or bad thing for you, they could be 99% or simply just staying injured. If they're 99%, it's a normal chase if they can pop it off in time, if they just stay injured to counter Feral Frenzy, they're one hit, if they're your final target and they're injured beforehand, just don't Slash them and you get a down pretty soon if you can catch them in time. Yes, Legion is extremely weak in chase, he's just an M1 killer, but that's not to say being an M1 killer is the worst thing ever, your power is pretty good info and enduring can make up for a lot of Legion's chase weakness. Once you learn his basekit and the things you can do with it, you can make some tricks of your own that can help you out tremendously. I think Legion's good but does need some buffs, but I just feel bad for him because he's bullied all the time by people
Splitting up and not healing is what most really good survivors do anyway. I do agree hes underrated but hes not great against high tier survivors

agreed. There is definitely a time to use his power in chase and others to just use it as map pressure. Which I feel like his map pressure alone is second to none and makes him a force.
Spirit and billy have the same map pressure without having to slam into walls along the way. Its good dont get me wrong, but id say his map pressure isnt as good as theirs

Everyone who is complaining about blight, how many games are you playing with him? I will admit I was frustrated at first and even got to the point where I told my friends i'm probably not going to play him anymore. But I kept at it last night and finally started getting the hang of it. By the end of the night I was downing people so quickly with his power and was dominating matches and having so much fun doing it.
Guess what i'm saying is this killer took me many more games to get the hang of than every other killer released for a very long time and i'm wondering if people are getting frustrated and giving up too early.
Im just shy of 2k hours, consistently r1 even after cross play came out and im on console. Point being im not bad, not a God but not bad. Ive played 4 or 5 games with him. I just dont see his utility. Hes like billy but cant one shot, or legion that cant hit multiple people. The question becomes, why wouldnt i just play as billy or legion?
His run should just be like legions, between the wall slam and not being able to hit multiple people hed still be sufficiently difficult to play to justify being able to down people mid run. Not saying one shot, just his turning mobility needs to be normal run like legion.

even if you made some improvements, this killer is still goofy and clumsy, literally a pinball machine, stun time for every rush is pretty boring and he's basically a M1 killer with no abilities, this killer is the door that promotes the genrush, i don't see anything special from him, i'd rather main legion at this point, 1000 times better than pinball machine killer.
Oh and one more thing, his basic attack not being counted when using a rush is pretty stupid, i mean, if a survivor has an exposed status effect, you can't oneshot him if you're using a rush, like his basic attack is something different. i don't get this, deathslinger has an ability too, but his spear attack when shooting someone is still labeled as a "basic attack" so why can't it be the same? using noed, his own perk (which i don't remember name of it) and devour is a waste of time if you gotta hit them with M1 anyways.
I do think legiin might be better, his rush needs to be a regular run like legion that can down people. Thats it. Theres 0 reason for his turning to be ######### like this if its not a one shot. Legion cant down people because his power extends allowing him to hit multiple people. Blight cant hit multiple people so it makes sense that he can down someone. Theres 0 reason for his run to be billyesque without the one shot
