If winning is that important to someone that they'll purposefully ruin someone's game just so they can have an easy advantage, that's really scummy. I used to bring party streamers and the anniversary cakes but now I feel like I'm supporting their crappy ways so I just bring bloodpoint offerings for myself or other survivors.

The problem here is youre taking it personal. Its not. He didnt "purposefully ruin YOUR game" he was trying to win said game. Do you ever notice everyones split up on different gens and think "you know i should go get the killers attentiin and let him hook me instead of finishing this gen, i dont want to ruin his game by finishing this gen and have 3 pop at once." No, of course you dont, youre just trying to win too. I get it sucks but it is what it is dude.

In 9 out of 10 games I see killers running the same 4 hex perks. Ruin, Lullaby, Retribution and Haunted Grounds (on rare occasion Lullaby is swapped for Devour Hope). It's not that the build isn't easy to counter, it's just the shear annoyance of it for me. Gens are harder to hit great skill checks because of the lullaby, then when the killer patrols, you lose all progress because of ruin. Finally find the hex totem, except you didn't, it was Haunted and because of Retribution now everyone's immediate location is revealed. Obviously you can just break the Hex totems but it gets stale when all your games you are forced to play hide and seek with totems before being able to get to your main objective. I think that is the most annoying part about it, it causes lack of variety in games.

Oh just wait for undying 😂

Yet she was rank two possibly 1 before..which means she wins many of her games...interesting logic..especially for killer as emblems are pretty strict especially devout

We all have bad games, im rank 1 and get my ass handed to me a few times a day. My real pount with this pist is simply that Spirit is not unbeatable.

    Well, they sucked.

In a bout of irony, I actually play worse with Spirit with Stridor on her. I play her a bit in KYF with crossplay family (I don't have Stridor unlocked on her normally), and I do far better with her without that perk. Odd, I know.

When i have headphones in i notice 0 difference between having it on or off

I mean, if there is a DC'er in the first 30-60 seconds of a match, I definitely drop into "take it easy" mode. So, yeah, there is that.

And once I hit that mode, they can all three escape in the end as long as I got decent BP.

No, she was 100% trying to kill me. I know the difference between someone taking it easy and someond trying to end the game

  • Yeah but if you believe tge forum shes so op it shouldnt matter. Shes that braindead easy

Actually i think Freddys are pretty good. Dven the blindness ones actually make sense on him if you want to counter OoO

With all the new Perks out now are there any good freddy builds that people have come up with? What is the best freddy build with or without add-ons?

One build thats a lot of fun is: Nemesis + Dark Devotion + third seal + tinkerer addons purple chain + dream pallets

The basic idea here is freddy is at his weakest when a survivor is awake, hiding your terror radius against awake survivors makes it easy to get that first hit. Once their asleep your dream powers take effect. You could use dream snares but i like the idea of creating as much confusion as possible, hence dream pallets and third seal. Plus third seal covers freddy's biggest weakness, OoO. Its a fun build and works better than people would expect. Ive put really good teams on their backfoot with it

  • Idk if its an exploit or not but its 100% a dick move. The LEAST you could do is down tgem and pull them away from it then leave them slugged.

Id rather play Ormond and Haddonfield honestly. Those maps suck to dont get me wrong.

  • @CrowVortex said:

That the one with the combine harvester or is that the Rancid map? That is a ######### itself XD

TBH, all farm maps need a look at, especially the building with the railings.

Its the one where the shack is directly in the center, surrounded by corn and loops run around the edge of thd map. The other 2 i dont mind as much.

  • @MottledElm said:

I remember, last time they published stats for this game rotten fields was the map with the highest escape rate

Yeah, I tried combo ruin + surv but I have no luck, I always lose ruin in first minute. Pop works better for me

Yeah also tried thanta + dying light. Might as well have been running 2 perks

  • @bingbongboi90 said:

I like pop it actually make kicking a gen actually usefull.

But i only use it on killers that might need slowdown of gens otherwise corrupt or ruin are my go to perks.

    Ruin ussually on totem builds.

I dont like surge but i can understand people who use it. I just dont like the big cooldown for that effect.

They really should look at the cooldown on that. Its way to long.

The whole point of Iron Will is to remove your injured sounds. Stridor overrides that? BS. What other situation does this scenario even really possibly pertain to? Spirit ABUSES this technicality. It's way too easy to win as Spirit to begin with, then you nullify her one counter perk?

Who at BHVR has a rager for her so f'n hard?

I play spirit sometimes. Sometimes i run stridor. I still lose at a rate similar to other killers that I play. My point being shes not unbeatable.

    Change 2 man gen speed.

Why is there such a massive boost from one survivor doing a gen to two survivors doing a gen, and any more after that add almost nothing?

Currently gens go from 80 seconds solo to 47 seconds duo so basically halving the time a gen takes.

Why isn't is more gradual like 80-65-47-36?

Honestly the bigger problem is when 4 survivors split up and work 4 different gens at the start. Im worried your solutiin would encourage that more

It's not just that. For example if I do manage to hook one, all three just rush the one asap get em off and each protect him. Then they run loops, tea bag, and send me messages on her about how much I suck.

Smack the people rushing the hook. Youre focused on downing tge guy tgey just pulled off. Dont. Hit as many as you can then chase one. Even if you then have to break chase because the person you chased is in a good spot you still slowed tge game down. 3 people rushing the hook means no one is on gens, if theyre injured theyre easier to down later when theyre out of position. If they heal they have to not work on gens to do so. This is all winning. The first time you down one or 2 of them rushing the hook theyll stop.

ah, my bad. That wasn't really meant to be a comment about their money-making plans (though I guess it ended up being one? in a very vague sense?). It was just one about design philosophy and the methods behind upkeeping a live game.

Undetectable and Oblivious definitely don't increase interactivity. Survivors already mainly use their eyes for detecting a killer. Survivors are merely assisted by audio on nearly all maps. But your point is starting to make less sense to me, because by removing one sensory organ from the equation, doesn't that decrease interactivity and immersion in the game? It's not like you can effectively look harder when you're looking for the first sign of the killer anyway (because again, sound is usually the second warning of a killer. Quick note: streamers are a completely different beast, and the game shouldn't be balanced around their attention because they tend to pay less attention to the game). *

Didn't realize you meant tormented there. Tormented is 99% likely not to appear with any other killer because of how the effect is a major part of Pyramid Head's power. If other killers could apply the effect and send survivors to cages, it would be a new mechanic, but since the design of the cages, the trails, and Pyramid Head's ranged attack are all reminiscent of one another, it's nigh impossible that they'll be separated. I have to consider Tormented as only a part of his power until proven otherwise.

*okay, side note: I think it would be really cool to have a killer that you can only sense via audio and the killer can only sense you via audio (Spirit rework?).

It has the opposite effect on me, and im sure Im not alone. Of course im looking around while doing gens (thats 101), but when i know the killer has something that makes them undectable im much more focused on it than normal.

Been happening for over an hour. Can't seem to get a kill, and they just like to all teabag at the exit gate.

I mean, I heard matchmaking was a joke, but come on now. How is making a new player face seasoned vets fair? I think I'm about to hit one, then some how they circle around me Ina second and I missed. This is getting frustrating. I'm trying to get better, but with the constant Bully tactics of these higher ranked players it's kinda killing the game for me.

    :(

Juking isnt a bully tactic, they just dont want to get hit. Trust me, I KNOW its hard to do but you have to slow down, take a breath, time it, wait for the juke to end then swing. I get that the match making can be disheartening buf look at it as an opportunity to practice. No shame in losing to people that have played so much longer than you

    From my second comment:

    "STATUS EFFECTS

Undetectable falls under this category. It is The Wraith's stealth idea but put into a status effect form for easy application across all killers. It's nothing new, interactive, or intriguing for the game.

Oblivious falls under this category, and it is not something that is interactive on either side. It's a status effect only applied by killers and serves no other purpose than to attempt to reduce one survivor's gained distance after starting to hear the terror radius (by hiding the terror radius for that one survivor temporarily). It's not that different at all in style from Undetectable. Both of these fail to be new mechanics, with the understanding that new mechanics are being defined as implementations that provide interactivity for both playable sides.

Status effects, as a rule, should not be considered new mechanics due to the way they play into an already existing framework."

You made me pause for a second when thinking about the entity-blocking-generator thing. I think it's probably not really a good example of a "B mechanic", and this is only because it's kind of like a status effect for generators (no killer interaction induces it specifically; perks are mediators), but it might count? Still, my hesitation is probably indicative of something I'm not seeing with the effect, and I think it's because the only thing it does is block a generator (VFX are fluff and kind of break immersion imo), preventing interaction rather than facilitating interaction, which is a key difference. I'll get back to you if my position changes.

When i said corrupted I was talking about tge effect PH applies.

Both oblivious and undetectable 100% engage both sides. If youre not paying closer attention to your surroundings youre doing it wrong. It also is irrelevant to my main point, youre complaining that theyre making money while:

    Screenshot_20200822-004434_Chrome.jpg

They have improved the game in a lot of ways that I listed. And theres nothing wrong with them making money while doing so. Im not saying theyre perfect, we both know they arent and sometimes I wonder where their priorities are, but its not fair to say theyve done nothing

    ??????

I'm criticizing the fact that the devs have shown no interest in improving their base game and each update is not really a way for the devs to improve their game but just tack on more killers to play and perks to get and grind to go through. I haven't said anything about too much content, if anything, there's not enough if someone wants to just play one killer, since all the "new content" is separate from everything else (except maps and offerings). That's why the implementation of kicking gens (with The Doctor) was so influential. The same for The Hag, with Totems, and Michael with Obsessions (if you didn't have an Obsession perk, someone else did, so it affected all applicable matches). Nothing past that has introduced any mechanic we haven't seen before. Breakable Walls? A slight variation on pallets. Deep Wounds? Another bleed out timer. All of the implementations mentioned either solved problems or made the game more fun for everyone. I've not seen a single person say that Deep Wounds is fun for everyone and I've not seen anyone say they enjoy (not find interesting -- enjoy) breakable walls (for their own sake). The EGC tried to solve a problem (and alleviated a few cases of frustration that could also have been solved with a simple concede button), but didn't make the game more fun or interactive for players. That's what I'm saying. Seasons = nothing new that's outside of the killer+survivor+perks+some small adjustment to what players can do in chase. That's it. Updates change things. Seasons don't tend to do that in nearly the same way.

I'm quite happy that the developers have been able to make so much money from cosmetics. I see it as a way of donation (albeit using tactics that prey a little too much on unsuspecting psyches imo); if you want the cosmetic and feel like supporting the devs, buy it!

    Edit: parenthetical

Oblivious, Undetectable, Corrupted. Not sure if Corrupted will be used by other killers or not, time will tell. Cross Play, cross progression on tge horizon, MMR (albeit a work in progress), graphical update, map fixes, god loops gone. I mean i think ive made my point, youre comolaining like theyve done nothing at all. Im all about them skipping a chapter to address the myriad of bugs, but lets not pretend theyre a charity and have dine nothing at all but line their pockets

Yeah, but it requires survivors dying so its really more of a last man standing perk. I can see your concern though.

Maybe just the ones hooked. Shouldnt count if theyre dead tho.

Yeah but then you’re running three perks dedicated to a healing build, and you have to be the Obsession against Dying Light, have recently unhooked someone, and everyone has to be injured. I’m not saying it won’t ever happen, but I don’t think it will be a common enough occurrence to worry about.

Like i mentiined, now you understand the frustration with thanta.

With all four survivors injured/hooked/downed it drops a 16 second heal down to 10 seconds, it really isn’t that big of an effect. A survivor who wants more efficient heals is pretty much always better off bringing Botany instead.

Well, now you understand killers frustration with thanta 😂

It synergizes stupid well with other perks. Imagine running it with botany, wglf and your the obsession when killers running dying light. You look at someone and theyre healed.

And you can't see for sure if its a mori before the match or I suspect all surviros would D/C every time a mori is played as that is the most unfair item in the game by far.

You didnt make a good argument for why he shouldnt. Getting tunneled cause yiu brought a key aint it

How is this fair in any way that he can see my item and counter, but I can't see his? Neither side should be able to see.

He would have just seen it in game and tunneldd you anywat. Heres an idea, dont bring a key. And if you do dont get mad when he doesnt follow your made up rules. For a Hex perk, its strength is fairly low. 16 m isn't really much at all. The survivor is almost able to run 16 m in the time it takes for you to recover from a hit, so they would be out of that range shortly after you have recovered. It also only blocks pallets, so they still have access to windows to stall for the 15 seconds of pallet blocking. Its effect seems so minor yet it's a Hex perk, which lets it be cleansed. It could easily get no value in the time in the time it has before it is cleansed. I only see this perk being useful on specific maps where there is an upstairs and downstairs or when there are multiple survivors nearby.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CPAOI5QP5SKR/image.png

Yeah it seems kind of underpowered for a hex perk. It works better either as a normal perk OR with no cooldown. Doing both is overkill. As usual.
