What's your take on Swf? Do you like it? Don't? Why?
Do you enjoy having challenge?
I dont mind going against a swf, but I do enjoy going against them as they make the game interesting. 90% of the time, they enjoyed the match and had fun(me as well), true champs.
Most swf are just avg players made slightly above average through comms. They arent a problem and I dont mind. Its the swat team that exposes the flaws in this game and is legit unfair. I still dont mind though. Its whatever
Unless they have OoO, i dont play against that anymore. F that

First I have no idea how this term came to be and why it only pertains to 2 perks. Also is it really a build if it is only half of your available perk slots? I must ask, if you don’t like these perks then what should I use in replace of them? What else do survivors have that can increase their chances of survival to the extent of ds and unbreakable? Oh right I can use borrowed time and adrenaline instead but I guess killers don’t like those perks either. Every strong survivor perk which is like only 6 killers complain about. You also must realize that as a rank 1 survivor you are only hurting yourself by not using these perks even though you may be able to escape without using the “meta” perks. Each of these perks in the situations they bail you out of can be the sole reason you survived. Escaping the trial is worth 5000 points, that is the most points rewarded for any action between both roles. I would love to try some random builds, but I must assume that the killer will not give me the luxury to do so. You think camaraderie will help me against being slugged? Do you think dark sense will prevent me from getting tunneled? Will Better Together help my teammate who is getting camped or tunneled? Meanwhile we just recently had some killer perks buffed I dont know why. Killers already had a better selection to choose from. The Devs need to buff these survivor perks to make them worthy of at least trying out.
I also had the idea of combining select perks as like a devotion reward. So, the way it works is one you reach a new level of devotion you get a menu to select 2 perks to combine. The available combinaitons are limited and exhaustion perks are excluded. Some examples are combining botany knowledge and self-care, Iron Will and Calm Spirit, Dance with Me and Quick & Quiet or Plunder’s Instinct and Ace in the Hole. It works in the devs favour assuming they plan on releasing new chapters every 3 months as they can make mediocre or average perks with the purpose of allowing you to combine them through playing. These perks can also have their own rarity like legendary. It also removes an extra perk slot and the frustration of getting these separate sub-par perks in the bloodweb forcing you to obtain them until they reached tier 3. In order to do this with teachables you would have to have them unlocked for all survivors. Even though I created this Idea around survivor perks killers can do the same too although with less options for obvious reasons. To be honest I always wanted Pop Goes the Wesel and Overcharge to be one perk, I’m not exactly sure how this will work for perks from licensed characters, but I hope it could one day be implemented.
The reason people complain is because when you run those 2 things together theres nothing the killer can do after you get unhooked. If they down you and pick you up they get hit with ds, if they slug you you get back up with unbreakable. Its lose lose for the killer due to no fault of his own and requires 0 skill on your end.
That said run whatever you want and stop giving a ######### what people think about it. Thats small pp energy.

Ive always thought that would be an awesone p350 reward for survivors. Create a power that can apply to all survivors and let them be killers once they hit that level.

So far my experience with crossplay has been surprisingly positive. It's true there are potato players but I've seen them often enough in the exclusive steam playerbase to not be overly biased. Strangely enough I thought the Console players would struggle a lot more but I've encountered at least a dozen "SOLID" console survivors so far who have a grasp on the perks, killers and how to loop.
I even put in about 20~ or so killer games in and while MANY players both PC and Console were just hold W fodder, I'll even venture to say that one or two console survivors are up there as some of the best survivors I've seen so far in my 1000 hours of play (of course ignoring any subtle hackers).
Now the reverse experience so far for EVERY single console killer I've encountered is that they literally have no chance against a competent team. The only one that was even mildly difficult to deal with was a Hag (by extension I suppose a god tier Trapper like Otz could) so far out of maybe 15~ or so games.
it's not the decision making alone that hurts them but being 360'd or whatever their auto-aim thing is that makes them slam obstacles when you press your body against them. Some don't have the right builds (maybe doing the archive), Some don't play their killer, map or perk set to it's potential... but more importantly out of the 7 or so killers who are running optimal stuff and gets the survivor into those all important 50/50 the average player with a few hundred hours (the average player who doesn't play to troll) can 360 and extend the chase for another 15~30+ seconds meaning they don't end chases fast enough.
Is there something that helps console killers? Because usually they have to blood lust 3 me or my allies have to be immersed and allergic to generators to prevent the M1 army from just winning.
Jukes is the biggest problem killers face on console and the aim dressing crap makes it even worse, yes. Not just hitting objects, survivors can flick in a way that causes your camera to go in the opposite direction from what you want. It sucks

For one of these "console player" threads i agree with.

No need to be negative, this is a discussion not a fight. Opinions differ from each other, I don't see what the issue is here.
Because the superiority act gets old. I play this game too. Im not seeing any difference between pc players and console players. Im just not. And saying that there is a difference isnt even logical. Sometimes we have performance issues but in general the frames are fine. Theres no inherent difference between a k&m vs controller while playing survivor. Its all in your head. IF ANYTHING a controler is better because it makes juking easier. But even if that isnt the case the skills within the game are the same. This is all just more "Pc MaStEr RaCe" crap and for once its simply wrong.

You come across as a kid trying to explain why two things are equal because you want them to be, when they are clearly not. No, you cannot reach the same level of skill with a controller as you can with keyboard and mouse. It has nothing to do with you as a player. A controller can only turn so fast, can only change movement directions so fast, and those two things are critical to high level movement.
Your indignation about this fact does not change the fact. That doesn't mean you're going to lose every single game or never juke someone using a keyboard and mouse, or that everyone using a keyboard and mouse will even do better (or even as good as) you, but at the top end where every little thing matters, that gamepad will be the thing holding you back more than anything.
Believe what you want. Theres no discernable difference in survivors from one platform to the next. You come across as someone who dropped a pretty penny on a gaming rig and desperstely wants to believe this gives you an advantage. It doesnt.
-
@FireHazard said:
The difference in skill primarily comes from the different controls that're being used for both platforms.
It's common knowledge that PC has a more "superior skill-set" because of how the controls for this game works with a mouse and keyboard. There's a lot that goes into why that's the case, but I'm sure you can figure out what I mean on your own. There are good consoles players too of course, some even better than PC players, but the majority comes from PC players due to how the controls work.
Nah, this is stupid. It may take more skill to use a mouse and keyboard, that doesnt mean youre better at the game. If anything using a controller as a survivor gives you more of an advantage because its easier. But IN GAME the skills are the same. The only real difference here is a nurse or huntress with keyboard/mouse. Otherwise, youre just up your own ass because you spent more miney on your rig.

The new killer teaser just came out and I've seen some comments speculating about what will it be. Many said "Werewolf". Others said "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde". But anyone who's waiting for him since last year (or since 2018, in my case) knows he is The Alchemist, who appeared first in the cinematics for the 2018 Hallowed Blight event and then, in 2019's Withering Blight, received the most awesome cinematic this game has until now, were he injects the Putrid Serum into himself.
Okay, that doesn't mean he won't be a werewolf but I doubt it. Putrid serum turning a guy into a wolfman wouldn't make any sense. He must be, on his base outfit, something as horrifying as the other killers are in their special halloween skins, since they got injected with the serum too. The coolest thing: It was HIM who injected it! During the Hallowed Blight, he captured the Trapper, chained him to a wall and injected the serum.
There is a possibility he has a few things based on modern adaptations of Dr Jekyll, since he is transformed by the serum he injected, but the characters, as respectively shown in the Hallowed Blight's story and the famous novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, are completely different.
I'm waiting with excitement and hoping he is a good killer and very fun to play. After such a long time being teased, he needs a worthy release.
Alchemist was my first thought too

The tunnel is not a pretext,
what I understand from your text is that you are in a rank that does not correspond to you, I am a main killer of pc and I believe that a red rank of console is equivalent to purple/green rank of pc.
In PC the tunnel is a strategy, if a killer wants to win he has to have 1 death with 3 gens remaining (so yes, someone has to eat the tunnel).
PC killers do not go in wheelchairs.
Welcome to crossplay 🙃
I was wrecking people in crossplay last night. They couldnt have all been switch/ps4 players. Im not impressed by crossplayers and not seeing any difference from normal xbox players. I really think the pc crowd is up their own ass on skill levels. Huntress and nurse aside of course for obvious reasons

Best Part is that slugging doesn't even get you that many points as killer so if you 1 hook everyone you depip.
Yeah but it slows the game to a crawl and gives you control over the match. If youve got 3 slugs you can start hooking people and downing the ones that get up or unhooked.

I have many questions.
I'm a survivor main, and a casual killer, I just play killer for fun. But Legion makes me wondering about so many question about strategies and gameplay.
I wish someone could answer me.
First one : With feral frenzy we can't make charged attack? Like the m1? Because it's so frustrating when I missed it because I don't evaluate the range correctly...
Second : is it better to respect or don't respect the pallets? We can use the dropped pallets with feral frenzy but I think it's better to take the stun, no? I think feral frenzy is good to fast vault the windows but I'm not sure for the pallets..
Third : when I used feral frenzy I can't see any scratch marks, is it a bug? Because what am I supposed to do?? I tried to activate feral frenzy in the last moment to make sure to hit the survivors but sometimes (when I faced red ranks while I'm green rank killer) they know I can't see scratch marks and it's very annoying...
Legion is the weakest killer I tried (Clown, Pyramid, Huntress, Myers, Deathslinger, Spirit, Wraith) but can't see the scratch marks while feral frenzy is too much....
There is a lunge during FF, it does take some getting used to. Keep practicing, youll stop missing eventually.
While in FF you want to respect pallets against a healthy survivor but you also want to trick them into throwing it, basically take a step back at the last second, they throw then you vault. A great perk for legion is enduring. Youre in ff chasing an injured survivor, eat the pallet stun. Yourecover super fast and skip the fatigue, now that injured survivor is in trouble cause you can down them.
Youre not supposed to see the scratch marks, this becomes less of a problem the more you play. Its about keeping them centered in the middle of your screen and having patience to wait for your shot
Dont be afraid to use FF to get across the map quickly to pressure gens
-
On xbox 😊
-
If they bring it back they need to loosen up the skill matching. I hated the mmr cause EVERY GAME was sweaty ass survivors. ######### gets real old real quick
-
I get this is bait but there really is to many pallets. Survivors dont have to loop, they can literally run from one pallet to the next dropping them, as long as tge other 3 are doing gens they have plenty of time. You can break chase and go after someone else but they can just do the same thing. By the time youve got enough pallets cleared to be dangerous 3 or 4 gens are gone.

The Deathslinger: while behind a running survivor, he can ADS almost immediately with little to no cooldown zoning the survivor and getting a guaranteed hit because this makes the survivor scared to get shot and is forced to sway the other direction losing distance. Even if the survivor is a good distance away while doing this, he can still get a shot.
The Spirit: as a former spirit main, I never realized how broken she was until playing many matches against her. The funny thing is the whole time I mained her I never used a headset because I never had one and so I relied on my tv speakers to find survivors. With a decent headset, she’s almost unstoppable. Footsteps are crisp and clear, survivors who are injured without Iron will and without Stridor are super easy to track so you’ll definitely down survivors fairly quickly after coming out from your phase. Against advanced spirits or just killers in general who hardly play spirit, you’ll need to come up with some sort of mind game to throw her off.
The Executioner (Pyramid Head): Anothr killer similar to deathslinger as to where PH can use his Rites of Judgement ability which has 0 cooldown to zone the survivors into thinking he will use his ranged ability (AKA punishment of the damned). Not to mention unlike the deathslinger who is 110% speed, PH is 115% speed. So canceling the ability doesn’t cost him anything. The only thing that can cost him time is constantly using punishment of the dammed and missing the attacks as it gives survivors a couple seconds to run to the next tile unless in a dead zone.
The Demogorgon: Yet another killer that uses the ability to zone and bait rather than actually using the ability.
Don’t get me wrong, I love playing the killers listed above because they are actually fun to play as more so than other killers (IMO). But do I think any these killers need a nerf? Absolutely not. In case you’re very new to DBD since the forums are always filled about how spirit should be nerfed, spirit got her rework already and her basekit and perks have been balanced. Old spirit was worse, Prayer Beads + Mother Daughter ring was and instant DC for most players, collision during phasing was an instant giveaway to get a hit or a down, her vaulting animation made her stay still but come out of the vault which made it hard to tell if she was vaulting or phasing. The point is I’ve realized how broken these killers can be when going against them and it can suck the fun out of a lot of matches. If you think they’re not broken and perfectly fine that’s you but I’m sure some people can agree.
Cool. So that means you can get to rank 1 with demo and stay there right? 13th is tomorrow, youd have a whole month to do what you should be able to do in a few days since you should be winning almost all your games. Why not provd to us it really takes no skill.
Either that or admit your full of ######### and have no idea what youre talking about

So as we all know, when there’s no Obsession in a match that means there’s no DS. This got me wondering, do you as a killer play differently when you notice there’s not an Obsession? Would you be more likely to tunnel somebody down and pick them back up as you don’t have to worry about DS or does your play style not change? Also, as a survivor do you find that more tunnelling takes place in your games when there isn’t an Obsession or do you not notice a difference?
For me, as a killer I don’t play any different. I try not to tunnel people as I know how annoying it can be when this happens to you as a survivor. I also appreciate that the survivors in my lobby are trying out other perks other than DS, as I also like to play around with my builds.
Now as a survivor it’s a different story. I definitely feel more nervous and I almost expect to be tunnelled. I just feel like not having an Obsession in the match brings the ‘bad’ out of a lot of people and they see it as a way to end matches as quickly as possible. I definitely play a lot more ‘sensible’ as I can’t risk my first hook being my last lol. I’ve definitely noticed that either me or my teammates are hard tunnelled more in matches without an Obsession which I don’t think is a coincidence.
Honestly i dont even notice. In the 2000k + hours ive noticed 2 games there was no obsession and both times it was at the end of the match when i realized

My problem is for me it was working fine, ~10-15 games in and my matches seemed fair and balanced. They did fluctuate wildly in those first 10-15 but eventually they evened out. Now I can barely even touch an M1 killer and it might as well be gg ez from the Survivors because I don't have the skill at high ranks with them. I have the skill with Hag, Oni, Billy, and Legion but if the killer isn't high mobility with their power I can't play them without feeling angry and defeated and not learning anything from the toxic flashlight body block 2nd chance squads.
I was also a killer that would get my 4k when pitted against new Survivors with the mmr system but I would actually them play, not kill everyone immediately with no regard for them being other actual players.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1532903#Comment_1532903
This works in theory, but I have <1 hour played as Nurse and because of the cliff steep learning curve with her if I was unable to practice against newer players to actually figure things out I'd be deranked from 2-15 if I didn't give up before then because even a couple months ago when stuck in green ranks as killer I was always up against solid red squads that handed me my ass until I played only Legion and Hag to get up into red ranks to make things actually look fair in paper.
So? Some games youd get people with 101 hours, some games you wouldnt. This game existed for 4 years before killer specific rankings were a thing and we all learned just fine even if it was frustrating. The good thing about what i described is ig would be more of a mixed bag. Chances are youre not going to face 4 really good players unless theyre swf. If they are take your lumps and move on like tge rest of us. Nobody wants to play against those guys

You just described what the new MMR was - a bunch of people at all different ranks competing against one another -, and it proved to be something that a majority of the community did not like.
Wrong. On a lot of levels. In what i descfibed noobs would never be facing off against god tier players, which is what peoole complained. The other side of that, when it is working every single game is a sweatfest, and thats lame. The mmr was trying to match people to reach a desired outcome (which it failed to do), what i described doesnt care about the outcome.
-
@SweetTerror said:

The amount of time you have invested doesn't correlate into skill though. You could easily stretch 100 hours over the course of multiple weeks or months. For example, I only have a few hours each day to play a game, so when I hop into dead by daylight those few hours that I can commit every few days doesn't mean that I'm prepared to go against the best of the best by any means.
But if matchmaking is going to continue to be a total crapshoot, then I may move on because getting snowballed game after game isn't exactly a lot of fun.😕
Doesnt matter. You for sure arent a noob at 100 hours. The pool at 100+ will contain an extremely large group of people and skill levels would all be mixed. Some games youll get a bad killer and really good teammates, some games youd get wrecked. At that point, who cares. You can just have fun and nit worry about your rank and how good you are.
-
Honestly i think an mmr is a mistake. Ive said this a few times but ill repeat here in the off chance the devs see it. The best way to handle this is create 2 groups. Anyone with less than a hundred hours falls in the first group, everyone else falls in the second group. Group 1 can only play with grouo 1 group 2 with group 2. Thats it. Having just 2 groups would mean quick match times and decent ping. Games would feel more random, and youd ensure 2 things: noobs never face really good other players and the game wouldnt feel like a sweatfest at the other end.

In public matches, down survivors 100 times with The Huntress' Hatchets further than 24 meters.
I don't know what to do anymore to get this one. I tried to play normally and hope for the best...
I tried playing nice in the hope survivors would give me a "free hit" in the exit gate, but all I get is people who immediately leave or just dodge every hatchet I throw.
At this point, I don't even know what to do anymore to get this one.
Any tips from you guys/girls? :)
I got it by farming and using iri. The survivors knew i wasnt going to kill them so they didnt dc right away.

I already linked a video, im not googling it for you guys again. Go look it up.
This game SHOULDNT have counters so hard the killers power becomes useless. Thats stupid and why its broken when you put most killers up against goid survivors. They simply cant do anything. Is that fun to you? Just shitting on a killer that has next to no chance of winning?
I play as spirit simetimes, with a headset. I win some, i lise some. I certainly dont have a 100% win rate with her. Thats stupid.

it works to well for me, almost every game i either get demolished or kill all 5 before 3 gens are done. Doesnt seem to be an inbetween and most games are the later
-
4 survivors split up on 4 gens at the beginning. Theyll have 3 done not to ling after you get your first hook. Then they stack to get the last 2 done. Done properly with a coordinated team theres very very little the killer can do to stop it. They dont care about injuries or just about anything else. Theyll even let that first person go into a second hook stage. They are all 100% focused on gens. If this sounds stupid or if you start to think you can counter it, dont bother. Has this idea been discussed before? Doesn't get much more OG horror than Hitchcock's classic.
-Bates Motel map: Strip motel on one side of the map, the iconic house on the other.
-Killer: Kitchen knife wielding Norman Bates, as his tall lanky self or in the Mother costume.
-Survivor: Janet Leigh as Marion Crane (this would put mother and daughter actresses in DBD- as Janet Leigh is Jamie Lee Curtis' mom)
The music could be great, especially the shower scene for a terror radius.
Anyone wanna take stab at killer/survivor perks?
Yeah but...what would his power be though? He was just some dude 🤷♂️
