This was already an issue, you couldn't play Trapper if someone had a map so you would switch to someone else, right ? Well, you can't switch killers anymore so you HAVE to leave the lobby and queue up for like 10 more minutes.

Thats what franklins is for. Especially with trapper as you can trap the item

  • OoO is the scummiest perk. Period.

Lol like hovering 25m away isn't camping. Love, that's 1m further than Spirit, Hag, Deathslinger's base terror radius. Be honest, what Devour Hope gamers do you ever see playing their typical style of gameplay when the perk is active? The hard majority realise totem spawn locations on most maps suck so they aim to get as many tokens as possible before it goes. It hardly promotes not camping, since it doesn't take more than 3 seconds to make up a distance of 25m

If the person hovers 25 meters away it wont give a token. They need to be 32 meters away. This is also a stupid plan for the same reason camping is stupid now. Youre more likely to get gen rushed.

Dude.. they DON'T VARY. all that is changed is placement of key objects, which should've been part of ONE map generation and NOT FIVE MAPS.

    Why do you care?

Because 5 maps instead of 1 mean 5x more chances to play in this horrible map

I happen to think its a great map. Id go so far as to say its one of the most balanced in the game. It also doesnt seem to come up anymore often than other maps

  • You want to go from having 5 maps that vary slightly, to one map? Why?

  • @Almo said:

Yes. But Pig Traps' main function is not to kill, but to delay. The threat of death is the motivator to go look for keys, which means not working on gens.

Yeah but the problem is the threat isnt great enough. Ive seen survivirs working gens with activated traps on and they still get them off.

I recommend 2 things). Reduce the amount of rng involved. Make it so the key is always in the 3rd or 4th box (3,4,5 or 6 depending on add ons).

Remove their ability to escape through hatch with an activated trap on.

This would light more of a fire under their ass to get it off and add a little more consistancy to her power.

So Scott created a new metric to give a killer a number for how powerful they are

this is his result and explanation for how it works

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲ ▼

I wanna know people's opinion on this "totally not a tierlist"

I have some issues with it. including

    • he says "this killer has no counters" but doesn't give them a 10.
    • changing pig's numbers because she got the same result as doctor and he thinks she should be lower
    • inconsistency with the result, sometimes he would trunk the result, sometimes round it...
    • inconsistency is some measures (specially counters, but also map dependency)

granted, he's one guy doing this live. his bias will obviously show and he will commit mistakes along the way that he wouldn't if he took his time and made a script.

so I think I know how to fix the issues he had on his tierlist that isn't a tierlist.

More data. If more people do this, we can round the results and get something more accurate.

so this is also an invite for people to give their own numbers to whatever killer they think was unfairly judged.

(if I knew how to do this on excell, so you just plug the numbers and the result would come up, I would)

there's only one killer I really feel that got absolutely shafted in this, trapper. this are my numbers

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲ ▼

Map pressure - 7. without traps is not much, but with traps it's insane. and how often do you not have traps? so 7 for an average.

down potential - still 6. I can't justify it going higher

no addons - 3. still bad, but not as bad as it sounds like. you just gotta be more methodical. (he gave clown with no addons a 4...just for comparison)

with addons - 8. yeah... he has some great addons.

map dependency - 8. He doesn't depend on maps more than billy. the numbers should be the same.

counters - 8. The counters that exist, are super rare. that should absolutely change the weight. a flashlight is way too common, but no one uses a map. they should not have the same weight in this category. and even with the counters, you still smack them when they take the long way around to avoid the trap.

    my result = 6.6

which is way closer to what I think trapper should be at.

that's some other stuff I would change about other killers. Like hag with addons should absolutely be a 9. freddys map dependency should be 10.

but that would change very little on the overall number and I'm too lazy... :p

I think his formula is great but its pretty subjective at times when applying numbers to categories. I think it would be better if he used a killer as a baseline, 5 in every category then compare every other killer to that. Wraith is probably a decent killer for this baseline.

DS has a drawback. It's only active for 60 seconds after you're unhooked. I agree it could be more fun with some drawbacks, but the state it is in is fine in terms of balance.

I agree its mostly fine on its own. I think the problem is pairing it with other stuff. Ds+unbreakable+soul guard+deluverabce is nasty af in the right hands

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1512916#Comment_1512916

Many killers, many survivors, as made clear time and time again, the majority isn't always right. Many survivors say Billy was OP and that NOED is nerf worthy. Are they right just because so many of them agree?

Well theyre right in this case. A lot if survivors get a "i can do whatever i want and tgeres not much the killer can do about it" bug up there ass compounded by unbreakable and soul guard. If ds is meant to be antitunnel then it should be adjusted accordingly. If its not then it needs a drawback much like how so many killer perks/add ons have a drawback

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1512887#Comment_1512887

If they're right back up that means they wasted Unbreakable or another survivor wasted time healing them. They might not have wasted as much time with their dumb play as they would have without DS or Unbreakable, but it was still a big waste of time and as killer you should recognize these mistakes are something to capitalize on. The more killers capitalize, the smarter survivors get.

They also wasted my time in having to deal with them. You dont think its odd so many killers say the same thing? You think im making this up

  • @NathyP11 said:

Yeah playing right is slugging them, theyre right back up 10 seconds later. If ds didnt grant them immunity to begin with they wouldnt behave that way

What do you mean stupid things? If you manage to down them they're off gens for a bit and they pretty much gave it to you for free. Having DS active doesn't reward you for mistakes, it merely compensates for the mistake in some cases where the killer is being careless. Slugged survivors can't do gens, and good survivors can always last at least 60 seconds outside of tunneling scenarios. Hence why the community adopted DS as an anti-tunnel perk.

If theyre running ds + unbreakable they can do all kinds of dumb things. Ive seen survivors keep workjng gens still i slap them. Body blicking. Jumping over a vault 50 times in a row till i go over there. List is endless

There's nothing wrong with tunneling, and if you want to defend the practice openly I will respectfully disagree but not try to attack you for it or anything. It's amazing how there's such a stigma around types of gameplay in this community, be it using "op perks" as survivor, genrushing, camping, or tunneling. I wish there was a way this toxic bias in particular could be diffused.

As far as tunneling is concerned itself it wholly depends on the situation whether i will do it or not. When i do i take ds into account and its not a problem.

The problem is you go and chase/hook 2 other people then come back around to you and get hit with a ds. Or survivors doing really stupid things because they know theyre immune for 60 secs.

  • @pandorayr said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1512659#Comment_1512659

It deactivates for the next 60 seconds but survivor can use this perk the next time if caught for the killer.

My problem with that is now instead of getting hit with a decisive 55 secinds after the unhook and i just didnt realize it had been that short of a time is now i can be hit with a decisive 5 minutes later. It would also effectively encourage gen rushing so they can save their ds for egc.

If the point of the perk is to be antitunnel then do that. Remove the time limit entirely and when they interact with anything or become fully healed the perk deactivates.

  • @Tru3Lemon said:

    maybe dont tunnel?

its not about tunneling. If we only want to punish tunnelers there are ways to make this perk do that that wont punish a normal kilker just playing tge game. Most people complaining about this perk arent tunnelers

  • @pandorayr said:

Survivors use decisive strike to repair when they are rescued from the hook it seems to me an abuse for this reason my proposal to add a small inconvenience if the survivor decides repair a gen.

After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike will become active and usable for 40/50/60 seconds.

While Decisive Strike is active, when grabbed by the Killer, succeed a Skill Check Skill Check}} to automatically escape the Killer's grasp and stun them for 5 seconds.

Succeeding or failing the Skill Check will disable Decisive Strike.Successfully stunning the Killer will result in you becoming the Obsession.

Repair a generator disables Decisive strike automatically for the next 60 seconds.

Increases the odds of being the Obsession.

The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

So lets say that 10 seconds go by and survivor hops on gen. Does it pause so after they leave the gen, 60 seconds goes by and now theyve got 50 more seconds of decisive? Or is ds deactivated forever?

That's the problem. I don't think there's a single other MMR system in existence that completely ignores ranks.

Wouldn't you love to queue as a bronze in a game like league/overwatch/r6s and go against diamond/masters? That wouldn't be very fair now would it. Those games all have MMR systems too. Ignoring rank completely is not something you should expect from MMR

    Lets put it another way.

It ignores the rank you can see. You have another rank hidden in the background you cant see. Thats the rank theyre basing it on. I can tell you most of the time on xbox its functiining properly keeping in mind their goal is 2k 2E (Which is really 6 hooks). We have no idea exactly what theyre basing that skill rank on, what we do know is a legit rank 1 God player can not play for 6 months and come back as a rank 20. Thats what they want to avoid aming other things

Bro you're ignoring the Plagues, Legions, Spirits, etc., who run around getting their last minute points with their powers. It's optimal to stay and make sure nothing sus is going on with the last guy, but there are definitely killers who go around getting their last minute deviousness points. If it's a Doctor, sure you're screwed. Mans is gonna stand there shocking the air triumphantly. Clown will toss bottles at your hooked body and Michael Myers will stand there nodding. But nearly half of the roster has something better to do than just stand at the hook.

It IS situational, but not nonexistent.

OP, I disagree that Deliverance should be active on second hook. It's just a mid perk unfortunately

They do that now because the game takes like 10 seconds to end. They wint anymore if this change were implemented

Your comments are subjective, because there are killers out there it would work on, maybe not you, as you are claiming to be an unstoppable clairvoyant killing machine who knows what perks im going to be running ahead of time.

It doesnt take clairvoyance. I just played an entire match with you, you think i dont know what exhaustion perk youre running? Every killer above 15 knows to memorize the players exhaustion perks. This scenario youve concoted will only work on one killer 1 time and then youve ruined it for every other survivor that killer comes across. And no, its not subjective. You will be face camped by every killer when youre the last one hooked. Theres literally nothing else for the killer to do. Unless youre going up against a complete noob that is, but if youre in this situation against a noob you deserve to die on hook anyway

  • @TheDFD said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1505435#Comment_1505435

At the very least it will give us both a bit more points

Or we can just get to the next game faster where theres more points waiting. And what you meant to say was "at most it will give us more points" because it would take an act of God for you to unhook yourself and then make it to hatch

  • The smallest of peepees.

Youre still only going to make it 10 steps before youre back on the ground. If hatch was close enough for you to make it to wed hear it and already be walking to it to close it. All this does is lengthen the match unnecessarily. If youre the last survivor alive and youre in the hook you lost, accept that

  • @TheDFD said:

Dead hard, sprint burst, decisive strike, there are ways around it.

No, there isnt. Ill know if you have sb or dh, neither is going to help you, and im just going to assume you have ds so you wont get to use that either

  • @TheDFD said:

I know a lot of killer mains will disagree, but one thing that's boils my piss about deliverance is that you don't always get to use it, say you were the last person standing, someone on a hook already, as soon as you're hooked it will kill you both without giving you the chance to use it.

No matter the situation, if it has been activated you should get the chance to use it.

Even if it was activated after your first hook, you should still be able to, even if the chance of getting down is halfed or some #########.

Im sorry but this is silly. If youre the very last persin on hook youre getting facd camped, end if story. Theres literally ni point in going any where else. So 99.999% of the time youd unhook yourself and get downed immediately then were both going to stard at eachother for 60 secs because theres 0 reason for me to risk eating a ds. So the only thing your suggestiin would do is extend the game unnecessarily and after a few attempts you wont do it anhmore anyway because its pointless. Except now thd game is anticipating you using it so it doesnt kill you so now were just staring at eachother for a munute and im eating camp points because you want a one in a milliin chance of maybe possibly getting away with your perk.

    No.

  • @SweetTerror said:

BHVR agreed that it wasn't fair to do that for generators, and it wasn't fair to do it for hooks either, so then why the exit gate?

Being able to take as much time as you want to go back and get a survivor (or whatever else you may deem necessary), seems to defeat the purpose of the endgame challenge if survivors can 99 the gate doesn't it? At the very least I think the exit gate should start regressing if you choose not to open it.

Its fair cause its currentky in the game so as long as it is survivors can/should do it if they want.

I do think it should regress though personally

  • @Oicimau said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/178525/what-does-it-mean-being-listed

Oh, those lists! I know i figure in one of those cause ppl are entitled to survive and mark whom uses Memento Mori once in a while. The funny part is how much energy they expend to take reveange.

Come on! Once upon a time i tought about a list of gate tbagger and toxic players... just to discover it should be soooo big i couldnt remember and should have to do much effort to keep it up and making it useful.

So, lets them undertand few by few this is not a game for lists... you just remember the one or three worsts toxic ones by some reason and get your reveange if the chance comes. If not, go on until their names fade away in your memory.

Unfortunately fir the survivors I have a pretty good memory. Tbaggers and flashlight clickers are whatever. They come to regret the post game messages they send me and i dont need to write anything down

Hi, I was playing killer and had to do the archive : "Down a survivor within 60 seconds of downing another survivor". I wanted to do it fast so I played clown with the 1-shot addon so I can do it with ease and go on with my killer life. I downed and hooked everyone until they all died, the faster the better.

After the match a survivor said to me "nice tryhard, get listed, like that you will get tunnel and mori. Have fun"

So here's my question : what are thoses list, where can you even find them ? and why do they exist ? Is one game where you were playing a bit toxic (refering to the red addon) is enough for you to be judge like that ?

[I am reposting this from "Ask the community" because there is way more activity here]

Might just be the survivor is a killer too. Keeps a list of killers/survivors they want to thoroughly trounce in the future

Multiple games now the killer has tunneled 1 person to death for the 3v1 without chasing hardly anyone else, then get easy hook trade camps the rest of the match. Their defense? "I'm better than you. Get good." These aren't yellow rank noobs either. These are red ranks which legitimately worries me. I know we can't exactly play on an honor system, because even I as killer tunnel/slug when the gens are going too fast for me. But I have never said that playing like that wasn't scummy. It just has to be done when you as the killer are rapidly running out of time. To claim that kills that came from tunneling and camping was skillful is ridiculous, and disgusts me as a fellow killer player. Yes, playing scummy can be the optimal thing to do, like having 2 hooked people and patrolling them both. But it's still scummy, nothing to be proud of like these guys are. If you think it was all skill that made the survivors lose when you're using a mori, or NOED, or camping, mass slugging, or tunneling, you're delusional.

    "Without chasing hardly anyone else"

Did he though? Cause if so thats not tunneling. And if the person their chasing sucks thats on me, Ive come across PLENTY of survivors that are decent enough to make the tunnel damaging. That is, assuming youre doing what youre supposed to (hint: its gens)

You definitely need to be more aggressive with your Corrupt Purge. It’s extremely powerful and most survivors actually fear it. Don’t travel across the map to grab a pool in the corner, but pools near gens or central structures are your best friend. If you see more than one survivor around, or injured survivors, and you have a corrupted pool handy, drink it and start to snowball.

The kiss of death when playing Plague is over committing to any one chase. Since survivors have nothing else to do except gens (no need to heal), taking your eye off the ball for too long will mean you lose 2-3 at once. So you really need to juggle and prioritise certain targets, and don’t be afraid to slug when you have Corrupt.

Yeah i think thats my issue for sure, thanks

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/178182/the-plague-help-needed

She’s loosely like old Freddy: priority one is getting everyone infected ASAP, then let them passively become broken (except for the fourth survivor you find).

Once they’re all infected (and subsequently broken) aggressively patrol a limited portion of the map, and try to limit chases there. Once the “insta-downs” start coming frequently, the survivors will start to cleanse. Smart ones will use the furthest fountains (Dark Devotion & Infectious Fright greatly help encourage cleansing. They’ll get fed up with being downed while you’re either Undetectable or their location has been given away).

Repeat the infect all ASAP strategy. Now the only available cleansing pools are close to the gens they need to repair and close to YOU, making the trial much more dangerous for the survivors.

This is where it becomes tremendously important to manage the corrupt pools. Never ever let them reset. Very bad for Plague and a HUGE set back. If a chase takes you near a pool, activate it. Try and keep around 2 “clean” pools as close to your patrol area as possible.

To summarise, Plague’s ideal match conditions are:

    • everybody in the initial stages of infection ASAP by whatever means necessary.
    • Aggressive patrols of the most ideal 5 to 4 gens.
    • A balance between easily accessible Corruption, 2 “clean” pools dangerously close to where you’re patrolling, everybody infected/broken.

This was well put, never even thoughg about where tge pools are before, thanks

Ngl if you face a good team, most of the time you're not gonna be able to do much as plague.

My recommendation is to force them to cleanse so you can get your OP projectile asap. Many people recommend Thana, but honestly decent survs know the effect is negligible, and don't ever cleanse because of that. HOWEVER, Blood Echo is MUCH more effective to force survivors to cleanse, since they feel absolutely helpless without Dead Hard, Spring Burst, etc.

Get everyone infected as FAST as you can, don't chase anyone until everyone is sick, then chase the last/weakest guy and snowball from there. If they start cleansing, make sure you have AT LEAST one person sick, so you don't lose all your momentum.

    Good luck.

I was thinking thana + dying light since the healing buff is non existent. But dying light always feels light it does absolutely nothing so idk.

I think ill run corrupt and try to get people sick quick at the beginng. Thanks

  • @Quol said:

It's best to use a pool when you know or have a good idea where someone is (like BBQ) because there is a global sound that plays when you power up and its fairly easy for a survivor to play defensively/hide until the effect runs out. Dont pick it up at random.

You can charge up the vomit and hold it (like Huntress hatches) obviously don't loop doing this but it's good to get into position.

Also when you spew the vomit make sure to move your view side to side to cover as much area as possible in a zigzag shape. You usually don't want to vomit in a straight line but there are exceptions (like pallets)

A common tactic to down survivors is if they are out positioned keep vomiting on them to speed up the infection and when they get broken then you attack. This avoids giving them a speed boost to somewhere decent. Don't do this at shack obviously, but if it's a fence or something infect then hit.

If the game gives you corrupt it means the survivors cleansed at every fountain and there are no clean ones left so the game gives you the power and cleanses every fountain, this is very bad because you end up wasting multiple fountains.

Yeah i think that might be my problem. I thought i was being clever by saving them :/
