I always make sure whoever I'm chasing is fully infected before downing them, the 'Vile Purge effectiveness' addons really help to achieve this. Any time you pass a generator, puke on it, you only have to charge it for 1.5 seconds. She really lacks map pressure, so trying to spot a 3 gen to defend at the beginning really helps too. I like running Dark Devotion, Nemesis, Furtive Chase and usually BBQ for the 4th perk but the new auras suck so PGTW or Corrupt Intervention work well in it's place.
Gotcha, i wasnt 100% on what the effdctiveness did

I can only speak for myself, but I usually do this:
Run addons that increase the time on items and either infectiousness or corrupt purge duration.
vomit on whatever you think survivors will use: mainly gens, ledges etc. vomit on pallets when giving chase (aka, stop and vomit when a surv runs by one, chances are high they'll drop it)
don't use the fountain till you got at least two survs in the broken status/during endgame.
also, vomit on one of the gate switches should all gens get done
@Pulsar said:
So, it has been awhile since I've played the Plague, but I'll try my best.
I would NOT wait until the game gives you Corrupt Purge, this means that all of your fountains have been used, and it will reset all of them.
What I usually do is, if I can see a Survivor, puke on them, if not, puke on gens and patrol. If you do get multiple Survivors broken, the Plague can snowball very easily, as they are all one-shot. So, I would try to infect as many as possible while patrolling, then single one out and down them. If you are lucky, a Survivor who is already broken will have to make the save, meaning you get another hook instantly.
I know you didn't ask for builds but my old build (Pre-Ruin Nerf) was Corrupt Intervention, Ruin, Pop Goes the Weasel and Dying Light. Then, I had the two infection time add-ons. Maximum game slowdown.
You both mentiined puking on stuff. Does that really work? It always seemed like a waste of time. But yeah ill try that, thanks

I should not be forced to play a game where the killer decides to play like douche. Why should I be forced to play a game where the killer lets me bleed out to death instead of hooking me? Why should I be forced to play a game where the killer first hook moris? Why should I be forced to play a match where the killer tunnels? Why should I be forced to play with a killer that shakes their head no as if they’re good? It’s kind of annoying how the dc penalty keeps coming back and going away. Like can someone on the development team make up their mind if you’re gonna have it up or not?
Nah, we just saw what this game looks like with no penalty. Screw that. Go play something else if you cant handle it

I've been wondering about this for a long time. How tall are the killers (in feet)?
I've made some assumptions, and I'll list them.
The Trapper- 6'3
The Wraith- 6'2
The Hillbilly- 5'11
The Nurse- 5ft
The Hag- 5'1
The Shape- 6'8
The Doctor- 6'4
The Huntress- 6'5
The Nightmare- 5'3
The Pig- 5'3
The Clown- 6'5
The Spirit- 5'5
The Legion- 5'6
The Plague- 7'1/7'2 (she's tall as HELL)
Anyway, what do you guys think?
(I might need to change these lol)
Michael Myers is 6'7, freddy is 5'9, leatherface is 6'4. We dont have to guess at those as its cannon in the movies

You can already close the hatch before they can jump through, causing them to just land on the ground waiting to get hit. Already heavily killer sided. No grab necessary. Just close the hatch again if you're that close.
When they use a key you can still close hatch?

I agree, if you are making a brand new character that costs the game and a half at least give him exciting new animations. That would make the buy actually worth it. I was personally expecting his kanabo to be replaced with a hammer ;_;

What i was saying is ive heard them say a 2k is a draw.

So cosmetic outfits are a pretty big deal to a lot of people, whether the free ones or paid for ones. I usually find one good outfit for any killer or survivor I’ll play a lot.
Charms however almost seem a waste, which is sad because a lot of them are REALLY REALLY AMAZING.
However you really can’t see them on survuvors. And I personally check them out on hooks when I run past to see what the killer has, does anyone else though? I guess certain ones (final rift ones) could let you know the killer plays a lot, whether you think that means anything is up to you.
Honestly, not at all. Ill take the ones i get from the rift but ill never buy one

I prefer BBQ because of the big cooldown on Thrilling. If it wasn't for the cooldown, I would say Thrilling Tremors is better. Though beyond that, BBQ also lets me easily see Survivors wearing Reverse Bear Traps who are trying to move toward another box.
Yeah the cool down does suck
-
@Zeus said:
I've seen a lot of killers who prefer thrilling over BBQ as an information perk. My question is why? Is there any advantage you get over BBQ? Personally I feel BBQ gives more reliable info than thrilling.
I was thinking about a buff to thrilling tremors which just blocks every generator instead of the ones not being worked on so as to compensate for the time it takes to pick up and hook the survivor.
Every time I play as survivor and work as a pair, a survivor loops the killer for half (or close to half) gen progress and goes down but the gen gets done by the time they grab the survivor, hook him and get there. Considering the cooldown with that perk I think it's a fair buff.
People on gens are a higher priority over people running across the map and gens block bbq auras a lot of times. Its just better if my goal is to pressure gens

Forcing us to rely on teammates to do a goddamn challenge for us is absolutely ridiculous.
Just had a match where in the pregame I said what challenge I was doing, asked them to leave me on hook if I'm hooked in the end game. What do I get? 3 ######### crouch in a circle around the shack while I'm camped in the basement until I die then leave, and write in the post-game "lol like we care what you say."
This is categorically not a challenge that you can possibly obtain by your own merit, it is entirely based on other peoples decisions and it SUCKS.
Just fyi, it doesnt have to be all 3 in the same match. Im currently sitting at 1/3

I have never had a swf fall for for a fake pick up....
There is something wrong with the survivors streamers get. they could be fanboys or the area they live in just has potatoes, i have no idea. But I find myself just shaking my head at some of the stupidity i see from survivors on their streams..
I have had them fall for fake pick ups 🤷♂️
I think whats probably happening is youve faced swf that played poorly and didnt realize they were swf
-
@snozer said:
I personally find it boring. The moment i see the communication flying i want to just switch off because there is no point.
I can down and hook them all i want, but nothing can stop the gens being done when they evenly spread out and warn each other about where you are going.
The most simple example is this. Chase a survivor off a gen at 80% and they just call over someone to finish it while being chased.
You can't keep them injured as they just organise group heals so gen "pressure" goes out the window as every chase starts from full health
You can't make plays as a killer because they just tell each other what you are doing so what is the point?
I really don't get where the "challenge" is in a stacked game.
And no.. they are NOT overly altruistic like everyone keeps spouting.
Ive beaten good teams, its incredibily rewarding. Hell even ganking 2 of them feels pretty good

I have found that I can actually see players doing generators now with BBQ and Chilli. Before it was nearly impossible but now I can see them at least 70% of the time. The new auras also look far more aesthetically pleasing. They show more detail and that seems to fit the horror aspect of this game more. The only downside of the new auras is that survivors stand out less but that hasn't stopped me from seeing them.
I like the look, i dont like how faint they are. Its game breaking for tracker and hooks can be tough to spot.
Luckily theyre fixing it, hopefully a hot patch will come out soon

You just need to get some practice in! You'll need to press the power button once every 3 sweeps without add-ons. Not sure how the chilis affect it yet.
Good to know, thanks
-
@Financial_Stability said:
Simple change, let bubba automatically consume charges in sweep until manually canceled or charges run out.
One, you have to constantly be eyeing your charge bar. More so than any other killer in the game.
Two, you end up losing bits of your charge because being human means you will never consistently hit the button at the perfect time. Not to mention dedicated server latency.
Three, he already has to manage not bumping into geometry, why does he have to keep an eye on something else too? If you've tried going through the garage doorways on haddonfield you'd know what I mean.
That's all.
Yeah keeping an eye on on charges while not bumping into stuff is tricky

I wasn’t talking about his specific idea change on Knock Out but how people agree on a majority of his viewpoints simply because he’s a popular streamer in the community.
An example is that his viewpoint is that killers like Pyramid Head and Deathslinger are “boring” killers. Fine. He can believe that. It’s his opinion but seeing multiple threads by different people gets tiresome and annoying. All they do it reiterate and state the same thing over and over again basically piggy backing off of his belief rather than forming their own opinion.
Oh yeah, theres very little i agree with him on. The boring killers bit kind of irritated me

Because if Scott Jund says it then it must be true. At least that’s what everyone thinks. Kind of annoying how people use the argument of “Well...Scott Jund said this” instead of formulating their own opinion. A lot of people would rather piggy back off of what a popular streamers opinion is because it’s easier.
I disagree with Scott very often, hes 100% correct on this though. They made a bad to ok perk basically useless. For me anyway. This was 100% a nerf

Like I can't even imagine what's happening in BHVR HQ
"hey guys, why tf nobody using knock out, we should buff it"
"gotchu, basic attack requirement"
Suggested Buff which will also make it work against SWF:
• Your screen darkens up immensely, so you're sort of actually knocked out.
• You suffer from the oblivious status effect as long as you're down
Obviously remove the attack stipulation as well

It really bugs me that this perception still persists.
When a player is good at finding and tracking survivors learns how to direct a chase with Clown, and end a chase super quick with Clown, then it’s realised that Clown doesn’t need to be everywhere at once. He’s one of the few killers that’s actually viable without add ons, and without perks.
The concept of map pressure is only relevant when the killer cannot end chases at a rate that matches the potential of how fast survivors can repair gens.
In the case of Clown he has the tools necessary to down his first survivor incredibly early in the match, leading to a constant cycle of someone on a hook, someone in a chase, and someone going for the save, leaving only 1 survivor on a gen for significant portions of the trial.
In my games once it’s down to 3 survivors, unless the remaining survivors are un-injured, and go 100% stealth (and are actually good at it), those survivors are pretty much screwed because they have so little time to dedicate to actual repairs.
Sorry, till someone proves otherwise with tutorials/videos (😉) I can only go by my own experience 🤷♂️

I totally agree. That is one of my ideas aswell. Having traps for survivors aswell. Sort of a defense mechanism for survivors against killers.
I do think it should be a perk/perks, not item though. They should have to give things like ds and bt up to use them and feels bad to add more to the survivor blood web. Plus flashlight + trap sounds fun 😅
-
@Peanits said:
I don't know about more, but if there were more options and fewer pallets and windows to compensate, I wouldn't mind so much.
That said, though, I never really felt like I needed more things to mix up my chases. I sorta' like the simplicity of it; you have pallets and windows. How well you do is less about how many options you have and more about how well you use what you've got. To give an example:
- A bad player will run from pallet to pallet and drop them the second the killer gets close.
- An alright player will run to a pallet and loop it before dropping it.
- A good player will loop that pallet and use a nearby window to save it as long as possible.
- A great player will link together multiple tiles to create even stronger loops and rarely use pallets.
Four completely different playstyles, all with the same two tools. Beyond that, I use perks like Head On or Lithe + Dance With Me to mix things up.
That said though, what sort of things did you have in mind?
Dont know about how it would work but i always thought booby traps against the killer would be cool. Think NMOES Original where Nancy went ham on freddy, or if i remember right the chick from You're Next.
Something simple like a trip wire that causes the killer to face plant, make the entire animation take 3 seconds. Face plant and then get up 3 seconds total. Another might be a trick locker. Killer opens it and gets stabbed by a shard. Animation is him/her looking at and shaking hand for 3 seconds. The perks would obviously need a heavy cool down, maybe even only single use.
So thinking through it, 4 survivor perks each allowing a different trap type, and then 1 killer perk that reduces stun times of all those traps in half (maybe it reduces the head on stun too since thats sort of a trap).
-
3 mins 😊

@CronaWins said:
Killers can no longer change characters while searching for a match / in a lobby (excluding custom matches). This will soon be used by the new matchmaking system to provide better match balance based on your skill with each killer individually, instead of a global killer rating.
This is by far the worst upcoming change i have seen.
Why are you enticing lobby dodging which in turn will increase lobby wait times?
If i am playing Wraith or Hag, do you think i would queue into 4 flashlights? No.
I thought the whole point of seeing survivor items was so you can counter build suitable for that situation. If i can't play someone like Plague or Legion against 4 medkits, again, i'd just leave.
Not to mention, experienced killers will queue into easy games and completely dominate because they have a killer they don't play very much. Your individual skill for each killer doesn't matter if you know how to run loops, what pallets you should break etc.
Everyone wanted killer specific ranks. Skill ranks affect match making. Of course the killer gets locked, how did you think they were going to do this?
-

There is literally a job that involves testing for every possibilty so that this many bugs can't get through. Sure, even with very rigorous testing there might be some, but barely a handful. Yet somehow they completely skipped aura reading, one of the most important parts of the game...QA is a thing, Bhvr. Please hire people to actually do it.
Not joking, of it were up to me the guy in charge of qa would be fired and id get someone that can set up and manage better protocols. The aura thing is awful, theres no way this was extensively tested. The bugs are bad enough, and truly a problem in their own right, but legit features that are broken like this are a whole other level of jacked up.
-
@kurgan8282 said:
I do hope it is a bug,otherwise they made the game unplayable again, and this time I see no reasons why they have touch that thing.
Unfortunately its not a bug, but I suspect they didnt test and they didnt expect it to be so bad. And thats the issue, not testing.
I dont understand the point of having a ptb if you arent going to use it. If i were emporer of bhvr thered be something/somethings being tested in ptb by players every couple of weeks

The power of placebos is incredible.
I remember seeing many threads on here after they launched the system on xbox and people who were playing on pc thought it was active on pc as well and started making threads about how great the new system is and how they noticed a real change after a few games with the "new" system.
All the while nothing was changed, it was just the way their brain worked and the placebo they got from thinking it was active.
Weird innit
