Lol ok. So SOMETIMES countering a "practically worthless" perk would suddenly make the Repressed Alliance BROKEN. The devs better nerf this OP beast ASAP or we're gonna have a meta shift the likes of which we've never seen before 😱😱😱
I didnt say they should nerf it, just remove its ability to completely negate overcharge IF its currently doing that. Everything else about it is whatever.
Ill ask again, if its more beneficial to NOT used repressed alliance in that situatiin, why do you care?

If it can possibly counter one perk one or two times a match it's broken? You can't be serious. The majority of the time avoiding an Overcharge skill check isn't even beneficial because you could simply hit it. And if you DO use it to avoid the skill check you still can't work on the gen for 30 seconds..
I am serious. That perk is already practically worthless thanks to the jedi mind trick of hitting a skill check while running and because most survivors hit that skill check no problem. Adding to that is pretty miserable. If anything it should pause the skill check so when the next person touches it it resumes.
If its not beneficial to stop it why do you care?
-
Interesting.
You could also cut the map in quarters. One lever per quarter. Remove the "2 people pulling levers at the same time" bit and make it so one person can pull the lever to open that quarter of the map so the gens there can be worked on.. Then you dont need a timer because the killer cant camp the levers. Lever should take some time to flip to. Maybe 30 seconds.
Survivors get notified when a section of the map is opened (not sure the best approach for doing that) the killer however would not be.

I saw someone voice their opinion about Otz so i decided to do the same. His content is like a lesson. You always learn something from it. He isn't like a lot of the popular streamers, like No0b and Monto, who focus more on entertainment, and some prefer that. So it really isn't 'right' per sè to compare their content with Otz's when they're semi opposites. His videos have helped improve my killer rounds and he seems like a cinnamon roll.
Yeah ohtz comes off as a good dude and hes really good at the game

Ive played it on both sides and i really dont know what peoples problem is. I really dig it. Again, on both sides.

Be stealthy, dont be the first one downed. Stop working on a gen as soon as you spawn in

Regardless of my opinions on the devs, I don't think the truth deserves to be ignored because it doesn't confirm your worldview. The fact is, this was an intentional change designed not to ######### people over (because the devs recognize that a lot of players hoard BP in preparation for a new chapter), yet they still get flak for it.
Nobody is shitting on tge devs because theyre able to go over 1 milliin bps. Bugs were brought up (as a question not shitting on them) and when that was quickly answered people moved to poking fun at the number of bugs in thus patch. Its not about worldviews. Tf that even come from? Theyre getting flak for the poor things they say and their poor quality assurance and tge poor decisions they make.

Its a pretty decent perk when it lasts actually. All hex perks are useless if theyre gone before youve hit 3 people.

Sad that the truth gets overshadowed by people insulting the devs.
Theyve kind of earned it a little dont you think? Just as one SMALL example they announced major changes coming to clown and we got one very minor change thats half broken and they introduced a new bug to him making it a net negative for the character. And thats just ONE thing out of this latest patch

Yeah its meant to be camped. Anytime i go against a 4 man gen rush squad i try and get someone down there. You rush my gens you better be willing to give me a sacrifice. Which is the point. Id be much more sympathetic to the "camping is bad" argument if gens couldnt go so fast

This game isn't that dissimilar to an fps. Both can have massive swings from tiny mistakes. The person with lower frame rate will make more mistakes.
I just dont know that thats true in a game where pinpoint accuracy isnt required. Deathslinger, huntress and nurse being the obvious exceptions since they require pinpoint accuracy. BUT ive nevercplayed crossplay on a game like this before so what do i know. You might be right

PC's will perform better than consoles. They just have better hardware. A person trying to play a game at 30 fps vs. people at 120 fps would be a substantial disadvantage.
On fps maybe, im not sure how true that is with a game like this. I guess time will tell

As someone who plays on all Platforms, people who’ve only played on Steam or Console are making it sound like there’s going to be a huge difference but from my experience it’s about the same aside from no one on console plays Nurse and it being slightly easier to 360 lol.
I was playin. Ive played on both too and the only difference Ive seen is fps drops on console. 1 game in like 10 is practically a thrown game cause the fps gets so bad. And yeah the 360s. Otger than that i think its fine
-
Its supposed to be dangerous and killer sided. Yiyre supoised to want to stay away from there and do whatever you can to not go down near there, its also why its the strongest tile in tge game (shack i mean)

Personally i look forward to kicking the crap out of pc players. Bring it peasants.
-
Shes fun occasionely but long term pretty frustrating. But her perks are great.
-
I think nurse would be best if not for all the bugs. Its just not worth learning her to that degree once you see all the bugs and get hit with missed hits due to latency all the time. Im sure old timers can still wreck with her but just doesnt seem worth it. I played her for awhile and got decent enough to start boticing the problems. Said f it.

Why is what?
Survivors and killer aren't allowed to click on profile in the End-Game screen.
Killers can still see survivor's profiles when they click on the After-Report, but survivors cannot click on killer profiles.
So you can't see if they've had the game since 2016 when Legacy was given.
Why would people start running fake legacy stuff since you cant click on their profile, but you answered it

A lot of killers get fed up with reaching rank 12 and going against a wall of red rank Survivors so they take a break from the game or switch to Survivor for a while and after a couple rank resets they're back down to a level where they'll hopefully be up against at least green rank Survivors.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/EEUNHETPTKL1/deadbydaylight-5-11-2020-10-24-38-pm.jpg
Prime example of the current killer situation. This was last month at rank reset and the reason many killers stop playing for a while and then come back after a couple months so they don't have to deal with this kind of game at least for a little while.
Yeah that looks awful

I don’t know of anyone who took more than 60 hours to start getting good at a killer like Nurse or Billy. It’s not hard to “master” killers, I think there’s just a large amount of casual players in the DBD fanbase, rightfully so. But even when casuals play these killers, its okay, because the skill floor is not only low, but the skill ceiling is very high. That’s good game design. It’s simple enough for someone who doesn’t even play games to understand/pickup and play like you said, and also highly rewards players who put in the hours and effort to master that character. Like Kirby game design.
Like you said, theres a place for both of these killers in the game obviously. That’s not what I’m trying to discredit.
Start getting good sure, well enough to keep up with really good survivors though? Thats where what youre saying breaks down and where the issue lies. A 60 hour nurse probably isnt going to be good enough to be a full stack 4 man swf team of r1s. In fact theyll probably get smacked. A 60 hour freddy can put up a good fight. He'll probably only get 2 but at least hes hanging. If the level of skill requirement were equal on both sides id be inclined to agree with you. Its just not, and again they only have to do it once. Mastering a killers power and how/where to apply it takes a lot of patience and time.

Old killers didn't demand you to be a god, but it demanded a different level of skill and creativity than now, while ALSO being 1000x more simple. That's the genius to them.
New killers now have 3 different utilities, with a million different descriptions, and a power meter, and this that and the other, because the devs want to make a "balanced" killer. Which I can appreciate, and obviously they've gotten something right before. But it's nowhere near as stimulating as playing older killers who have much better design.
With Spirit, you either phase hit, or don't. Sure, you might "mindgame" or catch up in speed, but there's not many other outcomes. Trapper on the other hand, is much simpler and has infinitely more unique gameplay. Just watching how a Trapper conceives a plan, shows gameplay that is different from every other player, because it allows everybody to be immensely creative with it. Spirit for the most part? Pretty much all the same.
It's disheartening to hear the DBD fanbase wants more and more powerful killers, with little thought. You can have a powerful killer. Those are arguably the most interesting. Just make their level of depth great. It's like poetry. You don't want the immediacy of thought, you want the profoundness of thought.
They were simple to pick up (nurse aside) but take a really long time to master. Unless you master them you cant compete with the top teams of survivors. Survivors on the otherhand require half the time and once you know it you know it for all the characters. Thats stupid and honestly kind of backwards. Theres 4 survivors competing against one killer. It should be harder to learn that role. Reducing the skill ceiling on the newer killers makes them a little more accessible and reduces the stress level of the killer role in general. Ive said this before and ill say it again, playing freddy and doc is as close to casual on killer side as you get and theres absolutely nothing wrong with that.
As for creativity, youre just simply wrong. Theres tons of play styles to go along with the crap ton of perks for each killer including the simple ones. Not everyone runs bbq and pop or forever freddy on fred. Ive done all kinds of ######### with those 2 characters people werent expecting. I mean how many different ways are you expecting billy to use his saw?
Its fine if some killers are stupid hard to play, thats good. Its also fine if some killers are easy to play, thats good too. Both are healthy for the game.

Ever though that not all people want to fry their brain when playing killer ? What's wrong with more casual powers that are strong. None of the "unskilled" powers you named are as fast at downing as those that require more skill to be used. Also I can't belive you called powers of Demo, Doc or Deathslinger unskilled. It feels like you never played them, I can understand Freddy but DS or Demo ? Seriously, you must be the best player in DBD if you can hit all of their skillshots 100% of the time at every opportunity or you just don't know what you're even talking about.
It's not like playing survivor requires insane amount of skill, perfect timing, predictions, aiming and all that. If anything casual M1 killer are boring since you can loop them into oblivion without much thought. Killers are supposed to be intimidating, not your toy.
Exactly. Its like they expect you to get a masters degree before youre allowed to kill them and all they need to do is run in circles
-
As it should be. It is completely absurd that you expect a person to spend literal hundreds of hours with 1 specific character to be good enough to play the game in a functional manner. ESPECIALLY when the other side doesnt have that same requirement. You go back and look at billy and nurse and my only thought is "######### were they thinking making it that difficult." The changes made to doc, freddy were perfect. Pyramid geads a little harder but not stupidly so. Deathslinger is only easy if youre good at fps games. GF is really great too (receal mechanics aside).
I noticed tgis trend as well and applaud it.
-
You got a 2k and decent bps. TECHNICALLY this is what bhvr considers a balanced outcome. Regardless, you did well. Celebrate.

I never argued the early game doesn't often go too fast. I actually had my own suggestion sometime back on how to help with it. My only response to this thread has been about the Otz video.
Yeah but the ohtz vid is a symptom of the problem. We'll see if the beginning game collapse (for lack of a better term) fixes the issue

A Billy with a Mori could kill someone in 30 seconds. All it would take is a lucky chainsaw and an idiot teammate. Should we nerf his saw to ensure that's impossible? Probably not. Because it's an unlikely, extremely rare event. That's my point. Buffing or nerfing a character that has a consistent issue makes sense. A 3 BnP 17 second gen is not remotely a consistent issue.
All gens being completed before the killer can get 2 or 3 hooks is a pretty consistent problem, for everyone including the best killers. Those games are the ones that ecpose the flaws in the games design and when they dont occur its literally always because the survivors underperformed, not that the killer overperformed, at least in todays meta. And thats the REAL issue, when I lose because I f'd up i know that and can accept that, when i lose because the game mechanics are designed to force me to lose thats a problem. Right now the game is designed to give survivors every advantage possible and i have to either wait or force them to make a mistake in order to win. Lower skilled players make a lot of mistakes, higher skilled players make very few, the best survivors make 0.
As someone else pointed out since the games release almost everything that has been done to gens and gen related items have been to increase match length, the only exception being the ruin rework and that was only to make the perk more active than passive as it can still extend match tines. We also know theyre releasing something to slow down the beginning of the match, so the best survivors know this is a problem, the best killers know this is a problem, and the devs have acknowledged and are actively working to fix this problem, the only question left is why cant you and others in this thread?

its too hard to down survivors as pig because she basically worst version of legion. Any decent player can loop Pig its too easy, looping her is exact same as looping trapper.
Um, theres 2 things very wrong with this statement.
1). If you try and loop me when im pig tge same way you would try and loop trapper youre catching a knife to the face 9 times out of 10.
2). Trapper can/should lay traps down on loops meaning if you try and loop a good trapper tge same way you loop wraith youre catching a trap on your ankle

Nope, it is confirmed the servers favor The Killer. This doesn't mean that every hit will prevail in every circumstance, many factors go into the equation such as latency. However it's the networking algorithm for the game currently but that will eventually change with the implementation of hit validation.

The servers favor what The Killer sees and they have a significant advantage when they lag. Lots of videos about how to game the system when you're The Killer. I'm unaware of any ways to manipulate your network to gain an advantage as a Survivor.
Lag switch gives enormous advantage to survivor. They run no mother and you cant hook them.
