Do some killers feel the same about Maps? I've been at this Thorough Cleansing challenge for awhile, and I keep getting tunneled because of it.
I only go at people with maps if im running a hex perk and my build depends on it. Otherwise its whatever

Yes, true, but I mean they also still have to make a living so I should think they could be working on something.
Thats why i said everyone but the cosmetic and art team. Those teams could keep putting out content to keep revenue going and the rift filled

I'm not saying killer is easy, and I'm not doubting your inherent skill with a killer. I could care less about rank (I've removed the part in my previous post that seems to have drawn your attention to rank), and the only reason I mentioned it was to point out that according to the game's standards I could do well. I think I got 2 kills every game, and the game thought that was enough to rank me up *shrug*. I'm not even touting my ability above yours, which probably isn't even the case anyway.
Again, I never once said Doc was easy; I only said his power required no skill, and I thought that it was understood that this statement applied once a player understood how to play the game. Regardless, I don't like playing Doc any more since his changes mainly because of the chase music but also because of how constricted and simple (not the good kind of simple) his power feels. I run loops as a M1 killer, and I shock in places to make sure that the survivor can't drop the pallet or has to drop the pallet early. Doing his static blast isn't satisfying in the slightest to me, and so I have no more fun playing him than an uncloaked Wraith, per se (in fact I have less fun bc chase music).
When I compare and contrast Doc to an uncloaked Wraith, it's to demonstrate how closely Doc can behave in chases to a killer stripped of any special abilities. You don't have any substance behind your statement of this comparison/contrast between Doc and Wraith implies I have zero understanding, so I have no way of knowing what your mind is thinking to say something that is both harmful to a constructive discussion and detrimental to people thinking you understand how Doctor works.
@DudeDelicious that second statement applies to any killer (maybe except Nurse and Hillbilly on occasion?), so that skill you mention is the skill required to play the game effectively as killer and is not specific to Doc. Doc has some extra tools to waste survivors' time, but putting them into usage is simple and doesn't require additional skill past a killer's existing skill. Shock survivors whenever there are props nearby in a chase and you wouldn't be able to get a hit from just M1 killer tactics, and use static blast when a killer has no info on survivors or has been unable to apply sufficient pressure. That's all anyone needs to know, and that's not hard to remember or do in a match.
My attentiin came to rank BECAUSE you said his power requires no skill. Thats just 100% false, and if thats true then everyone, including you, should be able to pick him up and get to rank 1 with him. That was my only point, I was touting my own skill as killer in anyway.

Yup. Them and Myers would likely be the #1 users of this perk.
It would synergize stupid well with devour and haunted as well.
Picture a hag running devour, stbfl, unrelenting and haunted grounds 😬

For me the only thing i consider "toxic" (i ######### hate that word at this point) are the messages I get after a game.

Unrelenting is useless and there is no alternative to STBFL if you don't want to deal with the Obsession avoidance thing.
Of course this perk isn't nearly as good as fully stacked STBFL due to not working on healthy Survivors baring expose, but it's a great effect for snowballing. Hence why @thrawn3054 thinks this would be amazing on Myers, he's a very snowbally Killer.
Think of it on plague or legion 👀

Honestly just remove the ability to struggle off of the first hook. Its THE only way to stop suicide by hook. Change the adam perk and bam, longer games for survivors. More opportunity for killers to make interesting plays. The only way to quit at that point would be through the menu which will get them banned if they try.
The point here isnt to stop suicides, its to reward players that are getting face camped with something more than a wasted game.

dude they would still suicide. Do you really think a rage quitter would care to stick around to give their team points? No they wouldnt. They dont care if theyre ruining their teams experience already if theyre willing to quit because theyre getting camped
Some will, some wont. It will reduce the number a bit. And regardless, the ones that stick it out should be rewarded

Everything is time management with an end goal of escaping or killing. Killers and survivors should expect the other side to play optimally. To expect killers or survivors to play less than optimal is to ask for a handicap. Anyone complaining about tunnelling, camping, or gen rushing just screams entitlement to me.
Im not mad at the players for gen rushing. I dont blame them.
From what Ive seen games at the very top level boil down to a killer dragging someone into the basement and camping to stop tge gen rush and they dont give af about tunneling or camping complaints. This is the game. It is what it is. They do need to address match speeds but im hoping tge beginning game stuff does that OR they add in mandatory secondary objectives. At the end of the day if the gen rushing squad isnt altruistic theres nothing the killer can actually do
-
@dbd_noob said:
I really wanna discuss this, as I think there is no such thing as genrushing. But i wanna hear other opinions as well.
As survivor the only objective is to do gens. So what am I supposed to do if I am not getting chased? Totems? Yes or I risk getting hit by NOED, but I cannot complain afterwards then. Chests? Maybe running around healing others?
What is your take on genrushing?
When survivors split up and work seperate gens ignoring almost everything else, thats gen rushing and there isnt much a killer can do about it. Its the same as tunnel vision, ive seen people do gens with activated rbts on their heads, i saw a team let someone go into struggle state to finish the 3 gens they were doing. If youre killer and not playing a perfect game, you lose. Or at least youre going to have to get very dirty. So yeah, gen rush is a thing. People skipping totems, chests, unhooks and everything in between to get gens done.
That said a lot of solo que games they rush the first 3 then fall apart and get stuck at 2 so you cant solo gen rush. Its a team effort. Solo ques can gen rush but its a lot harder

One thing I never understood is, the devs added the emblem penalty to killers camping, but they don't get the penalty if another survivor is nearby. Why can't they just reuse this system but with entity progression? If killer is within 16m the progression meter slows down, but if another survivor is hiding within those 16m or killer is chasing someone else, then the progression continues as normal.
Only downside to this is killer will be able to tell if another survivor is hiding nearby after hooking someone/ when camping.
They did that and survivors abused the ######### out of it. All youd need to do is you and a buddy stand just outside the 16 meters together in plainview. If the killer chases one of you then free unhook. If the killer doesnt then the 4th guy has a ton of time to do gens. It puts the killer who isnt camping in a ######### situation and the survivors know that.

@Peanits said:
It's not random, but it is procedural. Random would be more along the lines of sticking it absolutely anywhere, whereas procedural means it has preset spots where it can spawn and picks one.
The hatch is spawned when the match starts, but it is invisible and cannot be used until the conditions are met. It can be tracked by maps before it appears, although you won't be able to see the aura until it appears. You may also notice it with some killer powers as you play; things like bear traps, torment trails, and portals can't be placed on top of the hatch, so you may notice a random spot where you can't place anything (other than hooks or generators).
....this is really good to know 😳

No. Its not cheating. The devs have said so. Thats ######### you just made up

"its sole purpose is to be a sabo counter. Which it does"
I disagree. I don't think it counters Sabo almost at all.
I'd get more counter value running Knockout or Deerstalker, and those are at least universally decent, not just only good for an extremely niche scenario of someone happening to be running Sabo. Heck you can counter it fine without a perk, why even waste a slot in the first place.
I agree there are better perks
-
@Blueberry said:
If they had left it how it was in the PTB it would've been decent and worth using for tracking.
Instead they nerfed it into just a Sabo counter...which is completely useless. Use a perk for an extremely tiny, tiny chance they are running 1 single perk....that doesn't even really hard counter that perk if it is being ran...and that perk is counterable without using a perk...
You could tell me all 4 survivors were running Sabo before a match starts and it STILL would not be worth running that perk imo...that's how bad it is.
Literally a complete waste of time even touching the perk when they could've spent that time on something else.
While i agree its pretty useless, its sole purpose is to be a sabo counter. Which it does. There are other aura perks that apply to the match as a whole that are better which is why it isnt used
Incidentally i got a sabo save last night, saboed 2 hooks forcing the killer to drop my girl kate 😊

Yeah that makes sense, give something back to players that get hooked in general maybe not a modifier but just accumulate some more points for being a distraction. I just wanted to help incentivize low level/new player to not feel like they are getting nothing out of a match went they get hooked first or get camped.
Well and its just fair. It would help encourage people that are being face camped to not suicide and they are distracting the killer.

I here that. Could stack the increased frenzy too. Idk, that pin is his best add on imo but hes got others that arent bad too that id like to run without losing the broken status, even if its not quite as consistent or powerful

I mean, I see both sides here.
As a killer nothing tilts me over the edge quite like multiple stuns in quick succession, and Head On is the WORST, MOST OBNOXIOUS for this.
It generally results in the killer having a miserable time, and wanting to pay that back to the survivors.
Pretty much this. Head on is one of the most annoying things you can do to a killer. Im not saying it was cool to let you bleed like that, but i absolutely get his frustration. Its also why i giggle everytime i head on stun the killer, i know they just let out a nice long curse word

I dunno bout that, the Legion pin already gives ya a reliable broken status effect.
Yeah but those can be hard to come by and if i have this perk i can run increases to detection and length for killer instinct. It wont be as consistent but maybe useful.
...i wonder if that pin and penance stack 🤔

Just making a quick post about the new update. I'm liking the new content so far, but the game's buggy state leaves a bad taste in my mouth. But I'm not here to talk about those things, people are vocal enough as it is, and I trust that many of them will be fixed pretty soon. I'm here to talk about Legion and the new perk, Deathbound.
It is good. It is REALLY good on Legion.
Here's my experience with running this perk. Feral Frenzy stab survivors. I leave many survivors injured. I go chase and down a person while the others either attempt to heal or continue to do generators like the fools they are. I hook the survivor, proc Blood Echo (another very good perk on Legion), the other survivors go "oh shoot", and frantically heal each other to try and prevent me from snowballing (BTW, since they know I have Blood Echo now, they're going to be much more inclined to heal from this point forward, slowing generator progress and allowing easier pressure).
Since survivors will only heal outside my terror radius, because they'd be silly to try and do that anywhere closer, Deathbound will activate, and then they'll have to make a hard choice. They can stick together, which is generally a bad idea against Legion, or they can split up like they normally do, inflicting them with Oblivious. So if I run into the survivor that's affected by Deathbound, I can get the drop on them. If they're healthy, they won't stay that way for long. If they're injured, they'll be tasting the ground before they even realize something's wrong. Either way, they've become easy pickings.
Deathbound when paired with perks like Blood Echo and Thanatophobia truly create a Catch 22 for the survivors. They'll be punished if they don't heal, and they'll be endangered if they do heal. Truly, this update has been a joy for Legions like myself. Never Stop Slashing!
I think forced penance is going to be good on them too

Oooh maybe a sharpen weapon animation 👀

Sounds good to me, though id say that they should be getting a percentage of the points that everyone else is earning too. Theyre a distraction afterall. Anything that lets players get more bps im good with

Ye, it takes the same amount of skill to chase survivors as a no-cloak Wraith without slowdown perks, which I have done for many matches in the hopes of deranking at one point (didn't work; I started getting more pips). I never said playing an M1 killer doesn't take any skill, but the powers of those two killers have been modified to only serve to reduce survivor ability in chase. It's like playing no-cloak wraith but with the ability to prevent people from dropping pallets and vaulting windows and doing interactions from time-to-time or (in Freddy's case) from looping a tile more than one time.
Those powers aren't skill-based. They are use-em-to-deny-survivor-abilities powers. Nothing those killers do with their base powers is surprising to or exceptionally challenging for a survivor. The powers are designed just to wear survivors down and are a way for the developers to continue ignoring certain aspects of the game that are problematic with looping for the majority of M1 killers.
The reason Freddy has essentially two powers is because without his snares, he faces all the issues an M1 killer faces when in loops but with none of the perks other killers have. #fixtherealproblem devs
Alright cool. So uh, that means you can get to rank 1 just using doc right? Comparing doc to uncloaked wraith means you have 0 idea what youre talking about. But hey, why not show us? As easy as doc is according to you, you should 4k almost evety game till you hit r1 right?

I hate playing new Doc, and I dislike going against both new Doc and new Freddy. Why would you enjoy that? Do you not experience any satisfaction at downing survivors with your own skill rather than having the devs severely limit the survivors' base ability to evade you? I would like to say that you're the kind of killer that hates when survivors hide and also blames survivors and not the devs for the state of BT and DS, but since I don't know that, I'm not going to make that assumption.
Good thing you didnt make that assumption. Would have been wrong, and if you think doc takes 0 skill youre high as a kite. His power is easier than nurse or billy, that doesnt mean it takes no skill at all and those 2 are uncounterable. At tge end of the day their both m1 killers and very loopable if they dont know what theyre doing

I find lvling survivor to be boring. Id rather play as a killer and pour the points into the person I'm lvling. If I'm farming I always run bbq on my killer even though I prefer Whispers for tracking. As survivor, the first one I P3ed was David. Just so I would have constant access to WGLF to cut the grind down. I tend to get more points when playing killer. As survivor there's those moments where the killer never found me, people didn't get hooked so I got zero altruism, or the killer face camped me. As killer I feel I have more control over how much bp I get.
One reason I took to this game over FT13th. Each killer is actually unique. All the Jason's function the same way. Just some are better then others at somethings.
This. I have to do something with all those points anyway. Honestly tho i enjoy going in with nothing

The day when survivor will discover the true power of gen splitting ala Depip-squad is the day when this game will die, because no one will be playing killer anymore.-
Its not super common but its more common than before

Theres a handful of killers that hard counter OoO, that hasnt stopped people from running it. So id say no.

So I've finished all challenges of all 4 levels of the Tome III today and it only got me to rift level 62. If we do a quick math here;
800 exp for 1 fragment
10 fragments for 1 tier level of rift
62 to 70 is 8 tier levels
8 tier levels needs: 8 levels x 10 fragments each = 80 fragments
80 fragments needs: 800 exp x 80 fragments = 64000 exp
64000 exp / 500 exp = 128 games total (I've explained how i get 500 exp per game below here)
So i still need to play 128 games in 17 days which is like 8 games per day and it's like playing 5 hours each day considering queues too.
How is this OK? I'm not an average player, i'd consider myself hardcore and a good player, i have 1900+ hours in the game aswell and i play since 2017. If this is like that for me, how can an average/casual player complete this rift? Shouldn't the rift be like 50 or 60 levels on total?

Survivor screenshot 1
Survivor screenshot 2
Survivor screenshot 3

Killer screenshot 3
Killer screenshot 4
(So if we can see here, a good game as a solo queue survivor where you could live long enough without getting tunneled/camped to death quickly, you get like 597 exp. With killer if you get a good game with 4 kills, you get 598 exp. If we are being too optimistic about it we could say you get 500 exp on average.)

Removing an ability and making a perk useful in fewer situations is like the definition of a nerf.
I know you think you had some crazy gotcha question but I said the majority of the time it would be better to hit the Overcharge skill check. That means other times blocking it might be better, like if the killer is coming back to the gen. I chose to ignore your question because it's pointless and changed absolutely nothing.
This is boring, though, so goodnight.
Right. So by your definition its cool to nerf an already underwhelming perk like overcharge but nobody should ever advocate nerfing a survivor perk. Got it. Goodnight 😘
