Dodge. Dodge any team that has more than 2 SWF. If in doubt: dodge.
Private Profile, etc. just dodge.
Entitled survivor mains call that "salty" and "scummy", but hey, they want to ruin your fun, so you don't have to care about theirs. You dont need to dodge if you paly billy/nurse. Otherwise it might be a case of "better safe than sorry"

Why isn't Insidious getting tweaked in addition?Maybe increase the speed in which it activated in order to make it useful in ambush situations or possibly chases when near high walls.
We all know this won't stop camping, but if you're going to punish a tactic you've advocated, you should compromise in another area.
They just created another way to derank (maybe, depends on how much emblem progress you lose) and insidious would serve a good purpose in that case. (still way better than some other perks....
) -
I almost forgot that this perk exists.... I am not sure whether I have actually seen any killer using it so far when I played survivor..... pretty good design

-
Players will never stop DCing until devs punish it, but at the moment devs even endorse the idea of deranking by DCing, so.....

Any main should still play a fair share of the other side.
I am a killer main by any stretch of the imagination… but I DO play survivor in between.
And despite me being mediocre as a survivor at best, I DO know that the game is more easy for survivor.A killermain will always play survivor because playing killer can be very frustrating and exhausting.
But a survivor main that might even play only with his friends has almsot no incentive to play killer besides from doing a few dailies. And yes, at rank 20 you have indeed the impression that killer is op -

Nice argument.
I don’t like either sides fun being ruined (hint, you can disagree on things and agree on others).
but simply acting as of SWF immediately makes a match unfun is ridiculous.
im someone who SWFs with randoms off of twitch, use chat suggested perks and doesn’t even touch comms. But yea dude, let’s pretend all SWF “ruin”
matches. There are countless ways how survivors can ruin the killers fun. Do you deny that?
Are you denying reading my post?
A quote, of myself
I don’t like either sides fun being ruined (hint, you can disagree on things and agree on others).
Is this not acknowledging it? There are absolutely ways a survivor can "ruin" a killers fun, however it's subjective, while a survivor might have fun taking hits and being risky to save their companion, it doesn't mean it's malicious, or intended to ruin the fun you literally earn WGLF tokens & points for doing this, it's part of the game.
Obviously this tactic from a killers point of view is "toxic" and will be seen as ruining their fun.
and while I acknowledge that camping is part of the game it's been less encouraged from the start, perks and incentives for leaving the hook, and now this new change to the point system. It only affects hard core campers, and the hard core camper I have met do it maliciously and on purpose to ruin one persons experience. (just like this post perpetuates) Do it because it's toxic and annoying for one survivor.
Yes there are killers that only camp to annoy survivors.
Just like there are survivors that try to annoy killers as much as possible with tbagging bodyblocking etc etc.I dont like to play against such players, but clearly its part of the game and the devs even support this.
What annoys me most however is that "survivor toxicity" is somethign that is celebrated, especially on twitch but when a killer behaves "toxic", then this is something that ruins fun and has to be removed from the game.
And you cant deny that their current idea punishes killer that play normally. After the gates have been opened, there is literally nothing you can do besides from camping unless you have noed (oh god such a toxic killer btw)

Because your suggestion hurts those killers who like to move away from the hook. For those killers its useful to know in which hook stage the survivor is.
A camping killer doesn't care because he camps anyway.
Alright, then. You seem to be saying it's difficult to know what stage the survivor is in while on the hook. Why not instead of discrediting my idea completely, suggest something like a range for not knowing? Even an indicator on the hook icon that lets the killer know if the survivor is in struggle or attempt escape phase is something you could say.
I dont think you understand.
As a non-camping killer you walk away from the hook to check gens or chase another survivor you already saw. Either your victim gets unhooked immediately (turn back and "tunnel") or you move away further from the hook.
Now its essential to know when the survivor will enter the next stage because you want to come back to the hook shortly before he is hiting next stage. This is when most survivor come in for a last second "stage" save.
A killer that camps will go afk in front of the hooked survivor, probably even stand up and get some snacks. Then he will chill until he dies and then walks away, probably even with a few seconds delay after he pushed his snacks to the side and chases down his next camping target.
Your idea punishes the non-camping killer instead of the camping killer

Tell me why the community members agree or disagree. How does this affect camping at all? The timer is actually only useful for killers that DONT camp. Take that away and you will see probably evne more campers
It affects the optimization of camping, making it harder. A killer can’t just leave when there is a fraction more bar left, looking around for unhookers that might be running in last second; they have to wait until they see the survivor stabbed with spikes. That gives roughly 10 extra seconds at the end of a sacrifice for survivors who aren’t in comms to make up for their inefficiency during that time.
I dont think you know what "camping" actually means and I believe you are talking about "patroling" actually.
A killer that camps doesnt move away from teh hook anyway and doesnt give a [BAD WORD] about any timer until the survivor is dead^^
Yes; that would be camping. It is the prevention of a save off a hook through the defensive strategy of standing near the hooked survivor. Most killers will start to leave the hook if the timer is low enough and there is not enough time for a survivor to run in and save. It’s a small change to require more investment, albeit amall, to camping.
All I want is for the killer to have less time to catch other survivors if the killer camps.
You are talking about the 2 seconds the killer leaves earlier from the hook because he knows there is no survivor in sight so there is no save possible?

Yes, I am. I don't know why everyone's trying so hard to protect that tbh. It's kind of silly to argue against it, and it only makes the survivor experience better, in which I take part, sometimes.

Oh yes. The carrying people topic. I'm certainly alright with this change. But we need to fix plenty of other stuff. It's unfair that 3 survivors can group around the killer and body block him preventing him from getting hooks. It's unfair that sabo squads can 99% every hook in the game so when you carry a survivor there... They kill the hook in your face. And then you're helpless and can't get a hook the entire game. It's unfair that survivors can run through a house and jump through a window over and over again. Why don't they ever break their leg? Obviously if you're jumping out of a 2 story house, eventually you'll land wrong and it'll slow you down.
Survivors get points for standing around doing nothing. Being on a generator the whole game holding down mouse 1 isn't exactly difficult work. Maybe generators shouldn't give survivors points? Why does the killer have to lose out on gameplay because of realism. How about if a killer decides to jump down the stairs or jump down one of the hills.. He throws the survivor instead. Bouncing the victims head off of a rock or the wall and then they just die. Maybe that would be a good idea. It would fix your problem.
All killer should just stop carrying survivors for a week or two.
After that , survivors will begg us to bring them to hooks

Gives me an excuse to use my walking dead build xD
No mither, unbreakable, tenacity, and resilience or dead hard. Having 4 survivors constantly getting up and speed crawling everywhere would be hilarious imo.Go ahead, I would love to see such things in my games instead of the usual meta build, but sadly it happens maybe once every month (if at all)

Why does everyone cry about camping? You yourself just called it a defensive strategy. If it's a strategy why should the devs even touch it in any way to make it less valid or viable. Even the whole chaser thing is dumb. Honestly with the way this went I would just close the thread if I were you.
Idk how to close threads, and anyway—hey! Who are you to tell me what to do? I don't care about camping as long as other survivors don't try and get the survivor off the hook, and they instead get the rest of us out. But this game pushes survivors to be overly altruistic from emblems to bloodpoints to a good experience even. Good killers don't need to know the hooked survivor's status to do well. It's only killers who are less skilled that use the information.
Who are you to tell killers what to do?
Those arguments always work for both sides

Legit question. Starting out, it’s fun. You learn how to play optimally on both sides. But after you get both down, how is it still fun?The only incentive to play is to grind for the good perks and stuff. Survivors don’t even need perks if they’re good enough due to the balance issues of gens getting done fast.
Im sick of playing nurse and billy. I tried to mix it up but at high ranks, it’s not fun. Survivor is not fun to me because it’s loop, gen simulator.
I dont want to quit because I enjoy horror games and I can see potential in this game. But at its current state, it’s stale and doesn’t seem to be getting any better core wise.
Also, as I mentioned earlier, I legit was trying with mid-low tier killers. Verse the optimal teams, I’d get a kill or 2 on average right? Ok so I got tired of that, I switched to camping leatherface and I was 4k’ing consistently. Pretty sad. Survivors were literally handing me the match game after game. I guess you could say they were bored just doing gens and leaving lol.
It you really versed optimal teams, a camping leatherface would result in a mere one kill (if at all) and never in a 4k.
If you are sick of nurse/billy, why not play the other, worse killers in lower ranks where you can enjoy them? Thats what I currently do until the devs manage to get their ######### together and balance DBD, assuming that will ever happen.

I feel like a lot of killers tend to take the easy way and when they’re taking a survivor to ththe basement they go off the side and jump down but since they have perfect balanced landing they can keep on walking and get to the hook faster and I hate it when you get right there at the point where it’s like 99% complete struggling and you’re like damn if they didn’t take the easy way around I wouldn’t gotten away. I don’t think killers should be able to just have everything handed to them like with the camping that’s basically getting an insta kill but like they’re just standing there doing nothing and somehow that gets them points survivors can’t jus stand there and do nothing and magically get points or magically get a gen done no they HAVE to work to survive so why don’t killers have to work to get a kill? Camping is already being punished soon so I’m not worrying about that but realistically if you’re carrying someone on your shoulders and you jump off of a cliff you aren’t gonna jus land perfectly you’re gonna end up dropping them so I think that if a killer is a carrying a survivor and they try to cheat by literally jumping to the hook jus so survs can’t get away that they should drop them or at least have a stumble affect cause not only is that unfair but it’s also unrealistic asfDo you really believe what you just wrote there?

You are also punishing the developers by proving that their solution to camping provides more incentive to camp rather than less.
Basically, everyone who entertains the delusion that DbD is not a game meant to be unbalanced by design so that 4 casuals have the chance of ganging up on a real gamer and winning, will get a rude awakening if everyone does what the OP suggested.
If gamers are expected to deal with super powered casuals, why not do what gamers do best and metagame the sh*t out of them?
”real gamers”? What the hell. You lot are just like PC Master Race BS. “Uhhh you’re a survivor YOURE NOT A REAL GAMER” the absolute cringe coming off you now.
Once again, it has been killer buff after killer buff on every patch, including the current up and coming one. Stop being so blind, devs are clearly making it easier for “all those real gamers”. -
Not sure whether to laugh or cry

Exactly. Just run that strategy until it doesnt pay off anymore because survivor adapt, then figure out another strategy. This is how online games are played

Now that I’ve had a chance to play on both PC and PS4, the latter is honestly SUPER delayed in its skillchecks timings compared to PC. Is this supposed to be a thing?Skillchecks are clilentside and are indepent of your latency.
If you are experiencing skillcheck delay, then this is due to the performance of the console -

... and seems to get worse every patch.we dont care about emblems. we have not changed our playstyles since the emblem system changed, and we wont be no matter what you do to it.
attempts to change player behavior via the emblem system isnt gonna work.
Because the rank system is pointless.
There is no reason to rank up unless you are a masochist.
It simply is impossible to make both casual and competitive players happy in the same queue, especially with the balance problems in DBD -

I mean ffs I get a chance for 1 kill have 3 people shove me into a corner so there friend could get out how in anyway should that be allowedDrop the survivor and run a slugging strategy. Only hit survivors if you know that you can make it to the hook anyway after the hit. Dont listen to the survivors that tell you that slugging is toxic bannable or takes no skill

It's absolutely wayne. Please look into this mechanik. It needs tons of time to drop the pallet and e v e r y s i n g l e killer can hit through the pallet. I understand that pallets shouldnt be THAT safe but bro, pallets shouldnt be once with the death ....Every toxic killer can leave, you comments are not welcome and not relevant. thanks a lot.
Pallets have been changed and it works properly. Maybe you had a bad connection to the host, I guess thats the problem you are describing but really hard to tell without footage

@DeadByFlashlight Well skill checks do not behave properly on consoles and this idea would be bad if it went live on consoles especially. It is deciding whether you live or die depending on latency. Is it a necessary change? I don't think it is at this point. With this attitude, things will never change.
December is supposed to show optimization for consoles so I see no problem with the skillcheck idea -

No its not gonna work. Voice comms are too powerful. Survivors can simply tell each other when they start approaching each other, there is no point in such a mechanic when all information can be shared in realtime across the whole map within the whole teamYeah I see your point. It's a shame though
it would be awesome.Yeah its sad, voice comms have taken away a lot from the game imo.
I would love such a thing too as soloplayer -

Come on guys, why bother to respond to this kid’s threads? Nothing more than a toxic and bias Survivor Main looking to bait Killers on the forums. Ya’ll should know better by now.We all participate in this baiting culture, why else would we visit the forum, to have a meaningful conversation about actual suggestions that can make it into the game? Please dont make yourself ridiculous.... the devs dont even read this mess

Almost every single game now it's the same thing...
1) Facecamp, your team tries for the save and they die for it. Game lost 2) Facecamp, so you do gens, then when you finally power the exit gates you get hit by NOED. I see now why people only play SWF and bring in toolboxes and all the powerful perks. The game is quickly becoming junk otherwise.
That's if your team makes it that far. Normally someone disconnects right at the start so it's basically a 3 vs 1 game.
I am never "facecamped" because I dont play like a toxic shithead

Dude...if that was the case I wouldn't have a problem.
But the killer finds someone quick, down then in like 20 seconds and then just sits on them all game. They don't even have the chance to be toxic. Toxic killers exist too.
Why does this never happen to me though? Explain that
Also camping isnt toxic btw, camping is a strategy (legit one). Toxic would be for example hitting a survivor on hook, mori canceling or sth like that -

Shape shifting or mindfucks. Not being able to trust other survivors.Would be awesome, but sadly SWF and voicecomms are a thing
I think it could still work. The killer would need to disguise as an exact copy of one of the survivors, clothes and all. There would be the initial confusion for a few seconds while people are figuring out exactly which survivor is the killer and that could be all the killer needs to transform and start attacking players.

Oh, really? And why didn't the killer kill me while I was taking a leak and AFK? What stopped him for attacking me?
Oh, right. Nothing.
Because he cant kill you. His only option is to wait and see what you do next. Hitting would result in an immediate loss.
As survivor you always have the option to complete gens, even if you dont like it

I think the struggle stage should stay well away from skill checks at the games current state. Performance is too inconsistent. There's no guarantee that skill checks will appear in the timeframe they should, consoles have laggy skill checks plus I would imagine lagswitchers could exploit this by freezing your game to stop skill checks appearing on your screen only for it to say hey you missed it now you dead.Skillchecks are not affected by ping because they are clientside
-
Make it easier for survivors to gain BP and the only advantage to play killer is gone.
Now guess how that would affect the queues (btw, this was the reason why BBQ was introduced back in the days, to get more killers again )
-
The devs even support streamers that derank by DCing.
That much about punishing Dcs...

Just funny that the devs never bothered with flashlight clicking tbagging or sth like that but when it comes to intended ways to play the game (camping is legit according to them) then they take action because survivors consider it toxic.
They changed pickup animation which solved the flashlight tea bagging.
The camping is still legit since you're excuses are that people are hook rushing and killers will still camp outside that 16 meters just like always. As far as taking action killers sitting there at 5 gens and doing nothing isn't what's intended.
The devs said that camping is legit, thats not my opinion nor an excuse. If you dont believe me then check out dev diary 3.
How does the pickup animation affect clicking or tbagging at all? explain pls
