If you bought the tome they already have your money. I would recommend not doing that until you know the patch is playable to a satisfactory level. You can always buy the tome after and get all your stuff for the levels you reached.

In either case, yeah I agree they should extend it.

I didn't, but was planning to do so

  • Well, you can't be extremely strong in the 1v1, but you can't be hopeless, either. I don't see much that would need to be changed in that way, at the moment, other than getting rid of Bloodlust.

    Title.

So much complains about camping and tunnelling. But noone talks about killer problems. Genrush for example. So many times killers are losing 2 or 3 gens in early game. And that makes game so sweaty for them. Survivors complaining about tunneller killers makes game so sweat but they are also makes games sweat for killers because of genrush.

Even Nurse can be defeat by genrush. So why this is not problem? How can killer try 12 hooks with this genrush problem?

Because gen rush is not exactly as much of a problem as camping and tunneling. Gen rush happens when survivors are able to complete 2-3 gens really fast, which means that they are good at hitting skill checks, have the awareness of spreading out around the map, and someone has been keeping the killer busy. The killer, in this case, has refused to drop chases to focus on more important matters (gens) and has not applied much pressure. Camping and tunneling, on the other hand, are cheap things that no skill players resort to because they know they would not be able to do anything otherwise, and survivors are just there, waiting to die, being prevented from playing the game. You have to be aware of when to drop a chase and when to commit. And boom, you've pretty much solved the issue. You could still lose a couple gens early, but that NEVER means that you already lost. If you are tunneled, on the other hand, you have more chances of riding a unicorn in the universe of Dragon Ball, than you have of the killer letting you go. Killers have bloodlust, which means they will get you eventually, and NOT because of skill (if they have to rely on that). Survivors can just run and hope that they don't end up in dead zones. If a killer decides he wants to tunnel you, you cannot do anything about it. If you get gen rushed, you still have another measly, no skill thing to hold your hand, NoeD.

As you can see, that is not the same thing. At all. Not even close.

I totally get the frustration with that (I want crossprogression as my progress is stuck on PS4), and hopefully they will sort it asap; but these are more serious gameplay affecting issues, just take a look what playing killer is like on a standard base PS4 right now:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Np7U8EddFAM

No need to take a look, I already know. I did play some matches, and I am already quite sick of it. This happens because they don't want to allow PTBs on console, so they don't know the issues they are going to implement. But, honestly, I had yet to see someone being capable of messing up characters that were not touched at all.

  • I mean, I don't expect them to solve this soon. After all, they didn't even bother to make it so trophies unlocked on a PS4 carry over to an eventual PS5, meaning you'll have to unlock all of them again. And there is not a single chance in hell that I am going to get Evil Incarnate again. Can't expect them to solve this fast, either.

  • Honestly, when I play killer, I hate to hear the sounds of a Kate or Feng who are wiggling on my shoulder. I just cannot stand them. Other than that, I'd probably go for Jeff, since hearing him so fatigued whenever he runs makes me feel tired irl. Scream is probably going to be Elodie or Adam.

  • Toxic people not managing to do what they are supposed to. Meaning no kills or pip for a tunneling/camping killer (especially a Spirit), and no surviving for toxic survivors. And that applies just the same if they are in my team.

Why is it so wrong to have one second chance perk for killers while survivors got tons of them?

The big difference lies in the fact that DS allows you to get moving again, and the killer will again tunnel you and down you in some seconds or a LITTLE more, depending on where you are on the map. Unbreakable only works if the killer is too scared to face a POSSIBLE DS, so he will slug you. Dead Hard doesn't work 90% of the time, often not even activating or activating without working (meaning you get exhaustion, but the killer hits you mid animation anyway). Other than that, well, survivors have limited pallets, and others can create dead zones, meaning you will have no escape. Killers, on the other hand, also have Bloodlust. And it does not only encourage endless tunneling, but also rewards killers for not being able to mind game or catch a survivor. On some maps, it is necessary, I agree. But it shouldn't go past tier 1, and reset if the killer misses a hit.

  • Personally, Spirit nerf, removal of Bloodlust (or at least multiple tiers), key nerf, and a fix for everything they have messed up with this update. I'd also like to see something, one day, to prevent killers from chasing you for so long that you go back in time and start it all over again, but who knows if that will ever happen.

    alpha

Yeah, that's to be expected during a time when a game is you know, testing things, and not fully released.

I guess you have never played the game. If you did, you would know that it is a full release, and that I only refer to it as an alpha, because that's what it looks to be. A little bit of information wouldn't hurt, sometimes, before writing.

I played Demogorgon yesterday and i did have freezes a lot of times when i tried to shred

Gonna test it with other killers

I played Demo too and also found that to be the case. Though I didn't attibute that to anything different from the normal situation, as Demo ALWAYS does that (on console).

That enormous pile of shyte known as Outriders. And trust me, DbD is heaven compared to that alpha.

    Wait, it's actually bricking consoles?

Yeah no I'm tired of this. BHVR, please spend the next 3-6 months fixing bugs, optimizing the game, and all that stuff.

It is, and I am kinda amazed at how bad the update turned out to be. The new map is already gone, because of bugs, since release day. Nemesis causes stuttering and fps drops whenever he uses his tentacle, but I don't know how the fps drops are extended to every single killer. And you have those drops both as a killer and a survivor. Last but not least, although they claim to have solved that now, there were lots of connection issues that didn't even allow you to start the game.

Weird how drastic of a difference RE 7 is to RE 8. RE 7 looks nothing like Chris.

I'd say that RE7 Chris looked nothing like him, instead. The RE8 version reminds me of the one I know, and he still is bulky as the "real" Chris. I just don't understand why they feel the need to change his design so drastically game after game, and I am sad that Roger Craig Smith isn't voicing him anymore.

  • Well, the thing with this community (and this game) is that many things are crutches, and are more often than not needed. I still despise every single person who uses NoeD or Spirit, don't get me wrong, as that equals to not even wanting to try. But, as a survivor, I never used DS until recent times, really, because I despised that perk too. Now, I am so done with being tunneled forever and ever, until I go down because of Bloodlust alone, so I will use it. As a killer, SWF can f you up, so you NEED slowdown perks. I'm not saying it would mark the end of those things, but if people stopped tunneling and camping on killers, many survivors could probably stop using stuff like DS every game. Less toxicity would mean more diversity, build wise. But until people choose the easy way, which they always do, things will never change.

Well this game, if you can believe it, has psycho ladies that could mess your ######### up, thus the thirst (for me).

Although I don't really thirst that much, and part of it is more lighthearted then serious.

Dude, you've just made me realize how effin cool it would be to have Alma in DbD. Never going to happen, probably, but I feel you on that. I too was attracted by her, though not the child version of her, nor the wrinkly one. The one who does stuff with Beckett, though. She was hot.

After playing killer for a while, I feel like I've noticed that more often then not the "hard" survivors are on pc. Like, if I have a game with 4 console survivors, it's much easier to get a 4k then on, say, a game with 4 pc survivors.

Does anyone else notice this or is it some sort of "pc master race" placebo effect?

I'd say it's all just the same. There are good survivors and killers on PC, as well as trash ones, and the same applies to consoles. The only thing is that someone playing on PC will have the advantage over someone playing on console because of way better performances and smoother controls. In fact, the more they improve the graphics, the more those playing on console suffer frame drops. Last time I played killer it felt like my frames were below zero. If you play on the same platform though (PC killer vs PC survs, console killer vs console survs), there is hardly ever any difference, when comparing the two.

  • I'd like to see perks that actually allow survivors to lose the killer in chase, preventing tunneling. I'd like to see Spirit removed completely, Trickster made viable and a map for him. Oh, and frame issues gone forever (console).

No, @Damarus said that "they have made it so Stridor is stronger than Iron Will, long ago" and you with the wiki say that iron will has a stronger effect then stridor. (Iron will = 100, Stridor = 50) So you both say exactly the opposite.

And you dont need to try to convince me. I was the one who said iron will cancels stridor. I said that you can be absolutely silent with iron will (100) and no mither (50) against stridor (50), too.

What I meant was that, even if both are present in the game (which I even explained), Stridor gets priority over Iron Will. Which means that, if they are both tier 3, you will still hear something from a survivor with Iron Will 3. And it's been a thing for a long time.

  • Well, no, if the wiki says what @SunaIIanu said, it isn't wrong. Some survivors are quieter by nature, even without Iron Will, with Ace being the quieter of them all. Even without Iron Will, it feels like Ace does have it. Then there are pther characters, like Jeff, who make more noise than a bombardment. Otz has made a video on them, as well.

  • @GeneralV said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2205273#Comment_2205273

Well, the thing is I don't think Ghostface is unbalanced or OP, I just genuinely hate him in the game. I've felt like this since his PTB.

But why so, if I may ask? I mean, if you don't think he is OP, why would you hate facing him?

  • @TicTac said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2204389#Comment_2204389

But then you can use iron will against spirit. If you use iron will against stridor, they cancel each other out and apparently you dont have a problem with normal spirit. Or you use no mither and iron will and trade a health state for being silent.

So perk counter are not really are argument.

They have made it so Stridor is stronger than Iron Will, long ago. If they are both present in the match, the killer will still hear you, only slightly less. But the thing is, every single killer should be counterable even if you play each and every single match perkless. You don't, nor should you even, need a perk to counter them.

  • @GeneralV said:

Well, you shouldn't screw your teammates because of who the killer is / which build they are using.

I absolutely despise Ghostface, but I never DC or suicide on hook when I face him.

While I agree on the first statement, there is a huge, ginormous difference between a Ghostface and a Spirit. One is too weak, the other is too strong and pretty much uncounterable. If you are aware of your surroundings and prevent GF from making you an instadown, he is a M1 killer who, at some point during the chase, will be able to hide his red stain and TR. Spirit, on the other hand, is invisible. She is not something that requires skill, only guesswork and luck.

  • @NightmareKiller said:

But if you didn't do anything but getting chased why do you think you deserve a reward or more points in other categories? If the killer only chases he's gonna get Entity Displeased. Scores, Bloodpoints and pips depend on the other side too. A gen rushing team with a key that loves hiding is gonna ######### over the killer score and they get zero points for searching around for a survivor. Hell, the killer killing everyone fast ######### with his score and bloodpoints.

It's funny, survivors love claiming they don't have any other objective but doing gens, and then they complain about being chased by the killer. Distracting him, surviving him, keeping him away from others, etc is an objective too.

You failed to lose the killer and get on a gen. You failed to pass the killer around to another survivor.

Why do you think you deserve points in other categories you refuse to participate in because you looped the killer in some haddonfield infinite with balanced landing?

So, you are acting like Bloodlust isn't a thing and the possibility of losing the killer is easy as snapping your fingers, then? Nice to see years go by, but this community doesn't change a bit. And they dare say League of Legends has the most toxic community, HA! We all know, even if some of us won't openly admit it, that this game isn't built around stealth. There are few things for stealth and they are dedicated to not being FOUND, not to lose the killer easily. Some stuff can work to lose the killer, sure. That is, if he has never played nor seen the game before. If a killer decides he's going to tunnel you, he will, and there is nothing you can do about it. He might not leave you until Bloodlust allows him to down you (and Bloodlust alone, not skill), he might refuse to break pallets to do so, he might leave other survivors because he only wants you. Being chased for the whole duration of a match is only fun if you have a chance to escape thanks to the fact that you predicted the killer's movements well and you looped him well. If he gets Bloodlust because he FAILS to hit you, it eventually becomes stale. Fast. And judging by how you expressed yourself, I know this will sound like incredible news to you, but people that aren't toxic don't just go around "passing the killers to other players".

Oh, did they? I was hoping to see him change in some way, when the update went live. Turns out I already have played with said changes then, and did not notice much of a difference. Bummer. Thanks for the reply though!

  • What I didn't understand is if The Trickster changes did not go live. Did they? Cause I don't see them in the patch notes, though they were part of the PTB patch notes.

  • @GrimReaperJr1232 said:

No. I'll just straight-up say it. No.

The reason you don't see DS is that it's not a great anti-tunnel perk. A killer who wants to tunnel does not care for a 5-sec stun if they're even one of the killers that even cares about it (ex: Nurse, Blight, and Spirit couldn't care less).

Why is it so rare now? Old DS had the assurance that the killer couldn't do a thing to you. DS can start another length chase, destroy the killer's pressure, and easily cause the killer to lose games if he didn't respect DS on each and every survivor after an unhook, meaning they could repair in a killer's face and they couldn't punish it.

This assurance is gone. The immunity to punishment after an unhook or popping a gen in a killer's face is also gone. All that's there is the anti-tunnel aspect.

As it turns out? Killers don't often tunnel. The rule is to go after the unhooker; it's more prudent and more enjoyable for both sides. The only time you go after the person unhooked is 1) they body block with BT, 2) they do a gen or something in your face 3) you can't find the unhooker because they didn't take the aggro for them.

The 1st one has the survivor asking for it (and DS would still be up). The 2nd is the survivor doing the objective, meaning you feel that you're in a comfortable enough position that if the killer shows up to stop you, you'll have an escape plan. The 3rd sucks, but that's on your teammate.

Now, I WOULD be open the following changes

1 - DS now only creates an obsession after being used instead of at the start (similar to Nemesis).

    2 - Make it usable after a 2nd unhook.

I would never consider reversing the nerfs done to it, however. It was nerfed for a reason.

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Sorry lad, but you had me in tears at "killers don't tunnel often". Any other killer that I've met, aside from myself, will tunnel always, everyone, forever. Of course, I guess it depends on what you call tunneling. For some people tunneling is just chasing a freshly unhooked survivor, and that's it. To me? Chasing the same guy, forever, until you eventually down him ONLY because of bloodlust or missing pallets. That's tunneoing. And every single cheap killer that I've found does that. Gens are flying? Nah, they're still chasing you.

I am ok with the nerf, anyway, but it was overdone. They should have made it so it decativates after at least 5 seconds of interaction, not instantly.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Ever since DS got it’s rework I’ve still been using it as I normally have. What I have noticed is that not only does it work in less situations now (which is totally fair) Killers really doesn’t respect it much anymore.

Most the time I have DS the killer will pick me and I’ll use it. If it’s a killer who can end chases short say spirit or slinger I’m down in the next 30 or so seconds. Then my DS is gone. If I get unhooked again that killer has free reign to just tunnel me immediately again.

In my opinion DS should activate on both hook stages regardless of if you’ve used it or not. If you need to nerf it agin for compensation you could remove it’s ability to be used during endgame collapse. This way it punishes tunnelling more but for the people who don’t tunnel this buff doesn’t matter

I just feel like current DS doesn’t really do enough to stop tunnelling considering you need to use a perk slot to get it’s effect.

    Tell me what you think!

I feel like it has been overly nerfed. The amount of tunneling in this game was already obnoxiously high BEFORE the nerf came through. Now it's just a tunnel fiesta, since the only actual way of countering tunneling and getting maybe 5 more seconds (depending on who the killer is) does almost nothing. I would make it so DS doesn't deactivate like it does now, instantly, but after 5 to 10 seconds of other interactions. The way it is right now, a killer can simply fake going for someone else, OR run into you again, and tunnel you another time.

So live server Freddy cant be countered by waking up? ######### Wild.

Nope, he can't. It's only the softest form of counter if you get instantly put to sleep again, even if he hits you two seconds after you woke yourself up with the alarm clock. Didn't think I'd have to explain this.

  • @KlapzCheeks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2153166#Comment_2153166

First off, if youre not running iron will youre wrong.

Second, when she stops moving just run away. Thats the simplest move. She gets punished for "not moving"

Are we gonna nerf all killers into the ground who give survivors a hard time? I swear people just want an easy game. When do we start nerfing the plethora of issues with survivors? You have arguably one of the greatest survivor mains (AngryPug) saying the game is not balanced and is survivor sided. FoH with all these "much needed" killer nerfs

Go play Dead by Roblox. Its rated E for easy, just how survivor mains like it. (Not talking about you just ranting now)

That is a faulty point you are making here, lad. Each and every single killer, with no exception, should have the possibility to counter them even WITHOUT a single perk equipped. You don't have to have Iron Will equipped in order to counter a killer, Spirit in this case. You can counter Hag by crouching or with a flashlight, you can counter Plague by not cleansing, you can counter Trapper by disarming or avoiding traps. You can counter Ghostface by revealing him, you can counter Wraith by being highly aware of the surrounding you are actually able to SEE and with a flashlight, you can counter Twins by moving unpredicatbly, same as with Nurse. You can counter PH by crouching on his Trail, you can counter Doctor by healing your madness and hiding in lockers, you can counter Billy and Bubba by looping well and predropping pallets.

I could go on, but I figure you got the point. Spirit and live-server Freddy, instead, CANNOT be properly countered. Freddy will be countered by waking up through an alarm clock, now that mid-chapter goes live. But Spirit? She screams "play me, I'm super easy".

Only ever going for instadowns is cheap. My dude things saw only Billy is cheap.

I win this debate. You forfeit. Sit.

The important thing is that you think you do. Placebo effect at its fullest. I bet your parents are proud of you, aren't they? Isn't it past bedtime for you, anyway?

The sad thing is that you thinK (yeah, the verb to thinK requires a K at the end, not a G) that playing a whole match instadown only is not. Some kids should simply not have access to the internet. But you know what? I'll humor you. I think that survivors should have access to a different version of DS, where it doesn't have a timer, isn't stopped by any action and can be used anytime you have been in a chase for longer than 0.5 seconds. Also, it will stun the killer for 2 minutes.

Now, please, stop boring me with your nonsense and shut up. There is only so much lack of grey matter that can be tolerated.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2148403#Comment_2148403

See what I wrote above. A lot of players often tried to play another killer (low tier or uncommon killer, called it what you want), but it's just a vaccine to try this in the higher ranks, each time I try another killer I'll chain SWF depip squad... I guess some would say "just depip in the lower ranks so it's more healthy", but, it's super annoying to wait 15 games just to play another killer that maybe won't be for you.

Then, I stay with higher tier killers (Nurse main, but love to play PHead, currently I'm bullied because I want to play Trickster).

And that's exactly what I said. The problem isn't so much in the fact that some perks or killers are better than others, it resides in the fact that people are always, on any game, throw themselves at the easiest stuff. Take Nurse, for instance. She isn't, by a long shot, as easy and effortless as any other killer, live-build Freddy and Spirit especially. But once you do manage to master her, every game becomes and easy game. I mean, I still enjoy playing against a Nurse, as it does not feel as unfair as any other tunneling killer. And she does have clear counterplay. But yeah, as I said, cheapness on one side does not depend on the other side being cheap or not. I am trying to play Trickster too, because I really like his design and backstory. But it is abundantly clear that he isn't the best killer out there. He needs work. Still, I do enjoy him atm, so I will play him while I can.

Imagine thinking any of those, with the possible exception of Freddy and Spirit, are "cheap". Get better at the game.

Guess you can't really have a reasonable discussion in this community. I hoped to, but nah, kids on the internet are only ever going to spam catchphrases "git gud". Boy, do I miss some historical periods...

Freddy is cheap. Spirit is cheap. And possibly any killer becomes cheap because of how people play them. Endless tunneling is cheap. Slugging to get a 4k every game is cheap. Camping is cheap. Only ever going for instadowns is cheap. Would draw it for you, but I don't have a board.

  • @JimbusCrimbus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/246164/i-bored-face-against-nurse-spirit

I'm bored of going against survivors with the same builds every game. There are 89 survivor perks. I don't remember the last time I saw Babysitter, Vigil, Lightweight, Open Handed etc.

So much Dead Hard, Unbreakable users. Lithe, Balanced Landing, Sprint Burst and Iron Will is so common. Most of my matches I am seeing some combination of those perks. Others so rare.

There's your answer. Killers run power killers because survivors run the same busted and boring meta, and have been for years.

ALSO - even if you see someone like Trapper, Demo or Pig rarely - it's far more common to run into a killer that isn't played often than it is to run into a match without survivors running the crutch meta. Food for thought.

Both things are true, but actually, the fact that killers play cheap killers does not depend on the fact that survivors play cheap perks. Both sides would still keep being cheap even if the other side would not.

  • @Madman_Abraham23 said:

A few days ago I got into a discussion about how the weaknesses and limitations of killers (not in gameplay but as a character) don't matter. This really stood out to me as the big issue with people who don't understand why killers like Pennywise or Nemesis can't be added to the game. Some people are so adamant to have Mr X added to the game that they forget to picture him being stunned by a 6 inch thick pallet of wood. Some people in the community don't understand the reason why killers like Freddy and Demogorgon work in the game and characters like Pinhead and Nemesis don't. I really would like to clear this up if anyone is confused about this.

People should really stop trying to be condescending and applying "realism" to each and every single thing. This is a videogame. Videogames are not, for the most part, meant to be realistic. Even if Mr. X is to make it into the game, he will be stunned by pallets. There is a reason why THIS is Dead by Daylight and THAT is Resident Evil. He might be unstoppable in his game, but there needs to be sense in a game like this. Which still lacks in many aspects, but still...

If we are to go for the realism argument, though, let me humor you:

    • Ghostface isn't this guy, or at least not this guy alone. Many people have been Ghostface.
    • Nobody would be able to vomit blood on command by drinking at a fountain, like Plague does.
    • Ghosts like Spirit do not exist.
    • Demons like Freddy do not exist.
    • Wielding a chainsaw does not make you super fast, as with Billy.
    • Being hit by a chainsaw does not simply injure you a bit.
    • The upside-down does not exist, so no Demogorgon.
    • Invisibility is not a thing, so goodbye Wraith.
    • There is no known gas that slows you down like if you have been glued to the ground, so no Clown.
    • If you try to attack someone far from you with a blade, you won't magically throw damaging stuff at them, so no Pyramid Head.
    • Hatchets are not kept into lockers, and are not infinite.
    • Knives are not infinite, nor do you get 60 by picking up 6 of them.
    • Teleportation does not exist, no Hag, no Nurse.
    • People do not go into their own bear traps and take them off like nothing ever happened.
    • You don't absorb blood with your hands, from the distance, so no Oni.
    • You don't become stronger by looking at people, goodbye Myers.

I could go on, but I figure you got the point. Stop with this nonsense, please.

Personally I appreciate it, one game was like this after a bad day of getting owned by several killers, it was a legion and I was either Nancy or Feng in the backwater swamp, the legion was really good and he had gotten a lot of us done, we had some good escapes but it came down to three of us, since he had killed someone. He led us to gens and everything also letting us escape as he farmed for points he would injure us then we'd heal yk.

Honestly, I'm part of those very few killers who, in these instances, let people go. And I do give the hatch to the last survivor, if he was not toxic. Not always, of course, but pretty often. It all depends on how they played and how toxic they were. If they were good enough, I might give them the hatch. If they were too weak, I might give them the hatch. If they t-bag/flashlight click, they are going on the hook and I am making sure they don't come off.

Just a couple days ago I let 2 people go on The Game, after I killed two of them, as the Trickster. I farmed for some points and they did too, then I opened the gate and let them go. They were missing something like 3-4 gens.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I hope we get code Veronica Chris.

I am just laughing my a*s off imagining a killer chasing Sailor Chris from Revelations hahahahaha

  • I don't care for any other legendary skin that isn't HUNK, honestly. Or Chris too, if he isn't the survivor.

But survivors can get so easly all perks. And that is fair?

It's exactly the same for survivors and killers. Yes, survivors are skins and not much else, while killers all have different powers. But the method used to acquire those teachables is just the same for everyone. You unlock Ruin, now you gotta hope you find it on Oni, for instance. You unlock Self-Care, now you gotta hope to find it on Dwight. I can't see any difference there. It takes just as much of a grind on survivors as it does on killers. There is really no point being made, here.

This argument can be made for any killer with an instant down. Oni, ghost face, Myers, Leatherface can all instant down at hooks more reliably than Trickster at hooks

Not at all. Ghostface and Myers cannot instadown two people at the same time. Oni would have to be really accurate with the use of his power AND, if they had BT, one would get away. Same with Leatherface, although it can be fairly easier to instadown someone with BT with him. But Trickster? He does not stop. People would go down and he would still be there, throwing blades and moving. So no, this argument is invalid for any other killer.

By the way, it's a thing that can be done with him, but camping hooks is bad. Don't do this at home, kids.

  • Honestly, out of all the things you listed, I think he only needs some more movespeed and to be able to hold onto Main Event. But I kinda understand why it fades away. How easily would it be to camp hooks and turn even safe unhooks into two downs, if you had it all the time?

  • Well, to be saying that Billy was/is hard to play, would be ludicrous. All Billy players do, ever, is to go for instadowns. Surely he is better than having to face Spirit, but he isn't, by any means, difficult. Nor has he been in the past.

Dont yall just get tired of getting matched up with survivors who just hide all game and blend in with the environment instead of doing the objective?

That is as annoying as being chased forever, until Bloodlust kicks in and guarantees a down, is.

Well that's what happens to all games over they years. League of Legends, rainbow six siege, wow, overwatch and so on. It is always roughly the same with some new characters and maps. Of course dbd is a more extreme case since the basic gameplay has no variations and is the same since release.

Well, trust me, at least DbD tries to bring some variation into the game, something that Rainbow Six has decided not to do anymore long ago.

Back to topic, I stopped playing a while ago and got back for the new chapter. I really like the design and bacstory for the Trickster, even though I hope his buffs are going to make him more decent, at the very least. I play on console, so I can't say anything about what I could not try in person, on the PTB. But from what I've heard, he's gonna need more. That said, yes, people are always going to use the stuff that is easier and effortless to play. That's why there are always people playing Spirit, Freddy and SWF in DbD, people who can only play with Ash and Vigil in Rainbow (the two easiest operators by a long shot), people who play Master Yi, Yasuo, Katarina in LoL. Has anyone ever played CoD Black Ops 3, by chance? If you did, you know that lobbies used to be pretty much a VMP simulator. People don't want challenge, they want dinner served. Don't be surprised by how sad most of the playerbase can be.

  • Mmm... I must say I am looking forward to playing Resident Evil 8 because of her, hoping she gets enough screen time. But I find her presence in DbD to be very unlikely. First and foremost, if she comes to the game, it would mean that the survivor would be Ethan, of whom we don't know the face. Secondly, I highly doubt Capcom would give the license to include in DbD characters from one of their own games that has yet to be released. We will probably see Jill as a survivor, possibly alongside Chris if they do something like Stranger Things. As for killer, I'd say Nemesis, because of how his looks would fit in the horror genre.

this is sometimes when i play killer i don't need to check for DS anymore, just because you heal your teammate your DS is already useless, right now DS is joke perk that would activate if the one rescuing you is not injured cause they will heal you and expect you to heal them

I can't tell if you are agreeing with me or not. But yeah, I do agree that you don't need to be careful as a killer anymore. And, to be honest, since I rarely play survivor anymore, as a killer I find it a good change. But, since I like to be OBJECTIVE when I speak about balancement, since that's how you should be in its regard, I acknowleged how DS could be now renamed BS. If they wanted to nerf it, fine, completely ok for me both as a killer and a survivor. But you should at least make it so it decativates after no less than 5-10 seconds of other interactions and on unhook. The way it is now, a killer can just simply fake going for someone else and then immediately come after you again. Or you may think that you lost the killer and he comes right back at you, to tunnel you again.

I still don't understand why being easy is a bad thing?

What do you want the survivor queues to be even longer?

To have the killer side to have a healthy player base you do need simple/easy but effective killers.

If everything that was easy wasn't good the game would crash and burn HARD!

Because there needs to be a difference, that already exists in terminology, between being extremely easy and extremely powerful at the same time. Spirit is pretty much the DbD's version of Rainbow Six's Ash, an overpicked character that is almost always present because of how easy and borderline OP she is. Again, there is a difference. Easy does not equal OP. In fact, it should be the other way around. Nurse can be OP, but she doesn't feel oppressive to play against. She can be played around, she moves slower because of her power and, because of her power, won't get that stupid tunnel incentivizer called Bloodlust. I'd rather face 100 Nurses that 1 Spirit. Everyone can be good with Spirit. My grandmother's grandmother could be good with Spirit.
