I don't miss OG Legion. OG Legion was an exploiting mess. I just want Legion to be good. Not give BT to survivors as @Kabu pointed out. They don't even slow the game any now. It's not even a little better. It's much worse.

I meant aside from the exploits. I didn't even know about them til after the rework was announced.

They can run to the other side of the map, unhook someone, get mended for 8 seconds and move on. They can get on a gen, wait till the timer is close to done then run behind something and mend for 12 seconds. OTZ got an 8 man Feral Frenzy streak cause mending is so quick now. Now they can literally just run away and mend, or mend after Legion leaves. The slight speed boost is HEAVILY outweighed by all the nerfs.... and the speed boost is just a reverted nerf. Legion's power is literally a punishment now

Be honest. It's been a punishment since the rework. I actually prefer survivors mending quickly compared to them just ignoring it. Plus, if they mend during your FF, killer instinct activates on them and you can inflict the button statuses on them. Now, if only said status effects weren't garbage...

I do miss og Legion, but it seems their purpose is now to just slow the game down, which they do just a little better now than before.

  • Well, there is one good thing about the new DW. Survivors actually have to mend. Sure, they can run around like an idiot, but they don't accomplish anything like that. No more survivors working gens through their DW without worry while their buddy loops Legion nearby. Sure, there's no longer anything that the killer can do to progress the timer, but there's also nothing that the killer needs to avoid to keep the timer from pausing. I just wish that either the timer was shortened, or that mending time wasn't decreased.

I keep seeing people say that Legion needs a rework. Honestly, I think they'd be a lot more fun if you didn't get kicked out of FF with a missed attack. I also think that if the pin effects were changed from mangled to hindered, and broken to either oblivious or exhausted, they'd be more viable.

  • Really, if they got rid of missed attacks ending FF, they would be almost as fun as they used to be. I get so tired of survivors wiggling back and forth causing the auto aim to pull you into a tree. That really makes it feel like you get punished for using your power.

  • The only thing I see DW doing so far now is preventing a use of bottled time. Aside from that, it's worthless. With the new DW mechanic, and FF attacks no longer counting as basic a attacks, the Legion now has no perks that synergize with their power. At all.

That all being said, the increased FF speed and vaulting do make FF a lot more fun. Now, if only we could do away with missed attacks ending FF.

  • Whoops. You're right. Almost exactly what it used to be, then.

  • Honestly, if they made it so missing an attack didn't end your FF, it would be much less frustrating. Then you wouldn't feel like you get punished for using your power. Seriously, on console, it's horrendous. A survivor zig zags back and forth, and your auto aim pulls you to where they are when you aim for where they're going. I get that they didn't want people spamming the attack til they hit someone, but really, who cares? Since hitting the same person twice now kicks you out without any kind of benefit, mashing the attack has a chance to backfire anyway. Auto aiming into a tree immediately after starting your FF sucks when you now have to wait 20 seconds to try again. Also, since you have to fill the gauge completely to even use it, and the fact that it's non-lethal, hitting someone with a basic attack should charge your power faster, not drain it. It's like they tried to fix every problem at once without considering how each fix might also fix something else, or make something obsolete.

  • Actually quite perfect for trapper. Trap both sides of the window. They disable one and jump through.

  • I think people need to reevaluate what a victory is in this game. I sometimes have 0k matches that I enjoyed. Especially if I still make out with the most BP in the end. Same goes for matches as survivor where I don't make it out. I think the bp for escaping should be lower, with other scoring events in the survival category being higher. With a 5k bp reward for escaping, of course that makes it feel like a victory, and a loss if you miss out on it.

thats the nerf i was referring to. No basic attack on FF? and nerfed deep wound? lol ok thx BHVR.

Vaulting speed increase is nice tho

MS increase really isnt all that much but still appreciated.

The original FF speed was 5.4, so it's closer to the original speed. Do remember, that it's meters per second, so it's "standard" measurement is about 11.6 mph. Or about 17 feet per second. But yeah, up from 11.1 mph isn't huge, but should help with loops.

  • If you can't see Wraith on Switch, it's a bug. Try reporting it to the devs.

wait what. Where can i find this info!?!?!?!?!?! and most importantly... IN WHAT WAY ARE THEY GONNA DESTROY THEM AGAIN

Legion is getting a slight FF speed boost to 5.2 m/s. Vault time for both windows and pallets are going to be .9 seconds for both. Mend time base reduced to 12 seconds across the board, with the blade add-ons being reduced. Pin add-ons now apply when you hit someone after triggering killer instinct. FF attacks no longer count as basic strikes. Really, that last one is the worst.

  • The windows button (select) inverts the y-axis. Try pushing it when it happens. I sometimes bump it without meaning to.

  • Like, invert the y-axis? What do you play on?

  • The window thing is because the killer still hosts on console, as dedicated servers are still PC only.

The lag, though. I had a game the other day where, while I was working on a gen, a Jake rubber banded so hard he levitated about 30 feet into the air. Like, above the trees. Then appeared on the other side of the gen.

Hopefully a game update will fix it?

Is this referring to the chapter update 3.4, or the archives update?

You can complete the Tome at any time. So even if the Rift closes, you will be able to complete the Tomw - you will not get any Rift Fragments tho.

I know, but some of the things for the time are rather specific, and can lead to people playing poorly just to complete a challenge. Not having to do that as for as long is helpful.

  • I feel like what you refer to as soft locking is listed as taking the game hostage

  • 2 sacrifices during egc with Noed shouldn't be too difficult. If you have noed, just down 2 people, open the gate, then hook them.

  • Combine this with dying light. Then, you are slowing gen progression while building up your tokens.

  • Sometimes I stick out a chase just because the survivor is really good. I feel challenged by chasing them. Usually only after I got a sacrifice or 2 already though.

  • There's the possibility that these players play like this regardless, which consistently leads to an early end game. So they equip Noed instead of evolving their gameplay.

  • Man. I didn't even know. Time to change my after work plans.

  • I have a question. Does BL activate if you don't sprint after landing? Does it still cause exhaustion if you walk away first?

Honestly, I hope Vigo doesn't become a Killer. In the lore they seem to have a LOT of power over the Fog, able to shape and bend it to their will like the Entity does.

If they become a Killer that power would have to be toned down, or they could just do whatever they wanted. Like, unspawn pallets or the Black Lock.

But if they were toned down, then they wouldn't really be Vigo anymore. It'd just be a narrative waste IMO; taking a unique and interesting character and making them more or less the same as 20 other characters.

That said, I would like to see more of the lore delivered through flavor text. As much as appreciate the Archives, the subtle and vague hints of lore are more appealing to me than the Observer's "this is what happened/is happening".

Well, my thoughts are that, if he becomes a killer, he'd be called The Alchemist, his power would be built around that somehow, and it would be that he OD'd on his serum, and it screwed him up. If his power had something to do with being able to affect the realm, it might be a creation based power rather than making things go away. His items help him keep track of his surroundings, fix things, increase his luck, and escape his enemies. Based on their item descriptions, his jar of lips implies he keeps samples of others for his experiments. His toolbox implies that he's proficient at creating things. His shroud implies he can affect the fog. And the map hints at how much he's learned about the realm.

  • @yobuddd said:

I know an item that definitely makes a not-so-subtle hint at something!

    Survivor Pudding

    ”a heavily salted pudding...”

I mean wow! It’s just too perfect!

Lol, yeah. I meant something that hints at the world within the game. Kinda like how 99% of the items in Dark Souls contain lore bits.I love the items that hint at Vigo. That combined with the Withered Blight lore (I know the event was meh) make me think that Vigo might be a killer at a later point.

They can definitely play like that. Im talking about the ones who don't leave one corner of the map because they're too scared to move.

Ah, okay. Those could just be cowards, then. I kinda like playing immersed. I don't have urban evasion, though, so I tend to quit because of how long it takes to get anywhere.

  • God forbid people play a survival horror game as if it were actually a survival horror game.

Even then, Dying light is faster if you tunnel than camp.

I never see campers, but then I'm not trapped in rank 20-16.

I see campers at ranks 10-14

  • I wish it at least made you drop less and maybe none while performing an action. The orbs give minor tracking and an add-on increases the tracking quite a bit.

  • @HatCreature said:

So the Original OG bad kids group, The Legion <3 basically worked liked this:

I stab you and you get DW, I stab you again and make your timer smaller, boy you better believe I'm stabbing you again, GET DOWN ON THE GROUND!!!! The OG Legion didn't break out of their power when they stabbed you, they just kept stabbing you because it was awesome and they loved you.

Alternatively: I stab you and I break chase, your DW timer goes down as I follow your blood without actually ''Chasing'' you and force you to fall to the ground because you can't Mend as the OG Deep Wounds went down when out of a chase instead of out of the Terror Radius.

OG Legion was beautiful but very bad for this game.

Actually, hitting someone twice with FF always knocked you out of it. But you could activate FF at 25% charge instead of having to wait for it to fill up.

If a survivor unhooks the obsession then becomes the obsession does that trigger Nemesis?

If that's the case then they can't tell if you are coming back to the hook. The unhooked can but it will look like the typical run somewhere to heal.

Nemesis states that any time someone becomes the obsession, so I would assume so.

  • Nemesis makes it so that whenever someone becomes the obsession, they become oblivious. This does synergize with Furtive chase, as that changes your obsession. It also synergizes with decisive, as being hit with it changes your obsession.

  • @Todgeweiht said:

I mean, comparing them nemesis just feels overall like a better perk

    Furtive chase

    • Good synergies with: PWYF, Rancor and Remember me
    • Active perk: You have to work for it
    • Reduces TR by 16 meters max
    • Reduces TR only during a chase
    • Only really useful when running Judith's journal on mikey

    Nemesis

    • Good synergies with: PWYF, Rancor, Remember me, Enduring and Spirit fury.
    • Passive perk: The only requirement for it to activate is to get stunned
    • Reduces TR completely
    • Reduces terror radius from 40-60 seconds
    • Useful on a chase since it hides your red stain and makes you as unpredictable as shroud GF and it's also really useful when running Judith's journal on mikey

I feel like devs should really take a look at furtive chase, its a perk with a lot of wasted potential.

So, nemesis states that whenever the obsession changes, they're oblivious for a time. Is this only when you get stunned, or does this happen regardless of how the obsession changes? If it's the latter, then nemesis actually makes furtive chase more viable, as anyone that unhooks the obsession becomes oblivious.

  • Yeah, draining the power on basic made no sense after the rework.

I can see Oni getting some changes before going live, I think losing his power after downing someone might be part of it or at least stunning him breaks him out of it.

Yeah. I love how cool he is, but I think they made his power just a tad too strong. I mean, if you give him the run-around, his power is useless until he lands a hit, but still. Really looking forward to playing him.

I was thinking the same thing, we got another Killer who dashes and hits but in some ways it's better and some not.

What I seriously dislike about the new Killer is that he goes into a rage, an actual rage and when he he is done he sounds exhausted, I like that :) But Legion has a power called Feral Frenzy and when they finish their power they get a huge stun and scream in pain...huh?

Also, Oni has a 1 shot ability and when it is finished it is nowhere near a 4 second stun, but Legion gets 4 seconds just because they hit someone.

    This is seriously backwards insane.

Myers has T3 no stun just a blade wipe, Oni has 1 shot stun is nothing, Billy has chainsaw and can immdeiatley do it again, Legion makes someone bleed and screams in pain for 4 seconds

    That doesn't add up

Yeah, I see what you're saying. But Legion is apparently meant to rack up huts. Meyers is balanced with needing to build up his power. Billy has no power steering fluid. Really, Oni should take longer to get his power up, and downing someone should drop it, instead of having to pick someone up first. If Legion is about spreading the love, Oni should be about 1 at a time.

  • A week ago, I actually advised against getting Legion. Now, I would advise to get them. Sure, deep wound got another nerf. But now they're closer to their old speed, and vaulting speeds now make vaulting worth it. I still really wish they'd add something to hitting someone with deep wound, as it is now 99% pointless. But yeah, I think this is more of a buff than a Nerf.

I personally really like Susie. Not just because she's wearing a skirt, but she's really thick and her dyed hair makes her look really quirky <3333. SWOON. I really wish susie would hit me when she's in frenzy mode, and tackle me while I mend and then mori me 😍😍😍😍

Uh, Suzie is best girl, but...thirsty much? Suzie cosmetic for legion was the first cosmetic I ever bought.

Look at that smile, her style is cute and similar to my own. Growing up in Hawaii we didn't really have anyone goth or punk so I was literally the only ######### wearing chains and top hats, playing as a character I can relate to feels good. Susie is cool and I hope we get more outfits for her, really hoping one day we get maskless cosmetics for them so I can kill everyone with this beautiful face :)

    OMG, what is this from?

  • Guys, guys! Hemorrhage and Blindness can both be the worst. It's ok. Stay on topic, we're talking about deafness as a potential status effect.

  • I can see this being pretty interesting. Maybe a bit much. Like, maybe things that are close to you sound muffled, and direction can't be discerned. Also, adding it on to everything that gives aura blindness may be a bit much. Not being able to hear anything for a solid minute could be devastating. Though, it would bring Legion up just a tad.

  • For the lulz, just say "ok Boomer."

So i was made aware by @Omans that i should use double blinks. I had tested it the same day, i dont know how but i got it wrong. Maybe i was too shocked about single blinks however this is the result i am still not really satisfied with the results but it looks better than single.

However you would only have to juke her all 3 double blinks, you can waste alot more time with an exhaustion perk and ofc after being hit. A chase like this can actually make it for quite along time.

Maybe try an example where you find someone on a gen and they run away in a straight line instead of blinking from across the map just to see them clearly.

  • @Endstille said:

Keep in mind that this is about no addons, with addons you will do that. As you can see i posted 2 vids to it with overall 5 examples.

I actually tried this in live games and it is way more effective than everything else. You just have to keep in mind when you actually have to juke. Sorry but this is way too easy to pull off. At the moment most people play vs her like before nerf but you dont have to do that. Why participate in a mindgame when you can run from it?

In my opinion it is a matter of time. Honestly I have no clue what this anecdote about pre nerf nurse and your performance is because nurse before that was stronger in pretty much everything so it makes little to no sense to say that? I just dont understand the point.

My pointing out pre nerf was to make it clear that I was never a nurse main. So, after the nerf, I didn't have much to start with. I suppose I should have also pointed out that I'm not counting distance add-ons or recharge add-ons. When I'm not running add-ons around her movement speed, I tend to focus on fatigue add-ons.

And people that have won tournaments with exclusive prizes and now every casual is gonna have them. Spent 4 weeks to play with my team in a tournament against 20+ teams, won and each of us got PAX codes and apparently that will mean nothing rn, cool. Literally the people that like the change are casuals that had no chance of getting good at the game and getting the exclusives themselves.

And console players that were never given the opportunity

  • @Endstille said:

Well counterplay to nurse has been reduced to run in a straight line away from it.

Honestly, I read this a couple of times on the forums, so I did have to test it. Yesterday I went into Custom Game with a friend, we picked thompson's house for a test run.

So yeah you will not be able to catch up to a survivor, no matter if you blink once or twice you can simply outrun the nurse. Should you not get a hit by the end, you would have to do the whole thing again. How is this considered balanced or fun @Peanits ?

So for testing purposes we took the wall right next to the house which is basicly a big straight line without any LoS blockers, without something blocking the way of the survivor or the nurse. I had no idea it was actually this bad.

How to catch up? Use an ultra rare oof.

I catch every survivor that runs in a straight line. Sure, outside the lab, those are the only ones I tend to catch, but I don't get why people keep saying this. Just so you know, I sucked with nurse before the nerf.

  • I still think the camped survivor should get a distraction bp event. Sure, everyone else can gen rush, but in a point based game where BP is your only means of progression, it's more logical suicide out and start your next matchmaking endeavor. It already takes forever to get into a match. If the killer isn't going to pet me play, I might as we move on to the next match. Personally, I consider camping on par with taking the game hostage, but only for 1 person.

  • Honestly, she's supposed to be a mind game heavy killer, right? The new prayer beads are mindgameable. Just let go immediately after starting to phase, survivors go nuts trying to figure out where you're coming from. Sure, you can't yoink survivors with it anymore, but it seems like a more effective version of faking a teleport with Freddy.

  • The only problem I have with the rift is putting the event currency on it, and then spreading them so thin that, without heavy grinding, there was no way to obtain all of them before the event ended.

1 … 12 13 14 15 16 17
