I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but, seeing as how according to cough leaks cough, there's not just been one, nor two but THREE new DLC slots added we could either be seeing a HUGE blowout for the Resident Evil chapter(this is what I personally believe) or, equally as exciting, we could actually see multiple chapters announced in the year 5 stream. If the latter part is true though, what the chapter could be is anyone's guess, I'm going to personally go with Springtrap because, if I know Scott at all, he likes to constantly trick and troll everyone to throw people off then hit them with something when least expected. Just a theory though.

I could see the RE chapter pulling in the same numbers that the ST chapter did. So, a LOT would buy it and try it out but, yeah, the real question is how many of those people will actually stay in and it also matters what characters come in because that'll also affect the numbers. I'll be a optimist and say a decent bit will stay but, for some, they'll just play the new RE characters and then leave and have that be that.

I could honestly see them adding stuff from multiple games but, if I'm being 100% honest(not saying this is how I would do it but just going off of BHVR's track record) I think they're going to be sticking mostly to the original trilogy with maybe one character being from the newer games. I could most certainly see a combo happening though and, with recent cough cough leaks cough, it's looking like they're going ALL OUT on this chapter with three DLC slots being recently added. Now, I know that could be another skin pack or you know, a paragraph or entirely new chapter on it's own but, lets just go with it being RE for now. I'm going to go a bit wild here and say that, to get the most out of this chapter we could be seeing
Leon- He's a HUGE fan favorite and arguably the face of the RE franchise to most. I'd even go as far to argue that, if we were getting one survivor for this chapter, it'll be him.
Jill- A absolute classic character and who is almost always also in the top 3 in terms of polls and fan favorites as well. She's even regarded as one of the leading ladies of video games in general so, I could totally see Jill being the female survivor.
Nemesis- Come on, he's arguably the most iconic monster in the entire RE franchise. He's so iconic to the point that you could probably walk up to a few random people on the street and, though they may not know his name, they'll probably say he's from Resident Evil. Plus, to add onto that, this is RE's 25th anniversary so I just feel like they're going to add a classic RE monster as a killer and, to add further onto that, Capcom LOVES to put Nemesis in crossovers. If something calls for a Resident Evil villain, you can almost guarantee Nemesis will be there.
Jack Baker- Though he may not have the legacy or recognition as some other classic characters do, Jack, for quite a bit of modern gamers, is the new monster THEY knew from this franchise. Jack is a fun character and, even though he's pretty simple in his main game(being able to tank anything and regenerate is pretty standard in RE lets be honest) but, thanks to the mold and End of Zoe DLC, I feel like Jack could def have some unique power potential.

Legacy characters but, if we did get some new ones I wouldn't mind but, again, would prefer to see the OG's be implemented.

Venom legitimately becomes a god basically and is arguably the most powerful Marvel character now.

I'd LOVE to see some Marvel characters that straddle the line with horror come into DBD. Though I must say, as much as I love Venom(fav comic villain hands down) I must agree with what some others are saying with how Carnage makes more sense. The dude LITTERALY eats babies just because, well, he can and he enjoys it. Sounds like he'd fit right in DBD.

I'll put in my uncounted vote for Leon/Claire and Jill(Jill is my fav RE survivor and who I REALLY want to see in the RE chapter) and Nemesis as the killer.

That's a fair point and, for quite a bit of people they'll agree with that. I'll just say this though, this isn't directed at you but just the community in general. Please, PLEASE don't bombard the forums with nothing but hate if it does turn out to be someone from the new games as a Killer, be it Jack or Lady D and her daughters or whoever. More likely then not, Capcom has given them the characters in which to use and not BHVR asking them to use certain characters.

Hey look, would I personally prefer it to be a classic RE monster like Nemsis, Mr. X or Birkin? Yes, absolutely, I love those characters dearly and plus, Capcom seems to LOVE to put Nemesis in any sort of crossover that has a need for a Resident Evil villain. That said though, I'll love this chapter no matter what because it's Resident Evil. Despite me liking the older games/remakes the most, I can wholeheartedly say that Capcom is nailing it with the new ones and I love them as well. I would love to see Jack Baker(he was and still is a super fun character) come in if they DO want to pick from the new games but, despite that I don't care too much for them, I wouldn't personally turn my nose up towards Lady D or the daughters.

Yeah I mean apart of me asked okay from what started as a simple regular Romanian village now escalated to a whole damn factory, how does that work. I did love however fighting the Sturm though that was an awesome fight. But the scariest place imo was house Beneviento, particularly with the psychological aspects, god it feels like they literally took what P.T. did and I'm not complaining
I haven't beat RE8 yet but, the Beneviento house was EASILY the most scary part of the game so far because of well... THAT section. For me, it personally goes, in terms of horror, first is Beneviento, second is Heisenberg's factory(his Frankenstein's Army monsters are fantastic btw), third is Moreau's reservoir and Castle Dimitrescu. Also, yeah, the Beneviento section was 100% a Silent Hill reference. Overall though, loving RE8.
Anyways, to answer to OP.
Mr. X- He really doesn't have much to offer to be 100% honest, in the game, he simply just walks fast and chases you down while making you take alternate routes and being a obstacle. However, the more and more I've thought about it, Mr. X is kind of like a blank canvas. This is why I could honestly see them picking Mr. X because he is so basic in his own game that they might take him and do some crazy stuff with him in DBD.
Nemesis- What can I say that hasn't been said already. He's been my number one pick and will always be for a RE chapter. He's got SO many tools in his toolbox to play with. He has tentacles, a rocket launcher and a flamethrower, can sprint, can leap great distances, can chuck things and, most interestingly, he can infect others with the T-virus and can transform regular enemies into something more dangerous. He's a absolute force to be reckoned with but, the thing is, he might almost be TOO perfect for DBD.
Lady D- Honestly, I know I'm going to ruffle some feathers here by saying this but, I just don't care all too much about Lady D(I can admit her actual boss fight was pretty cool though) or her daughters. The castle, puzzles and scenery were the most interesting aspect of her section to me. She has the same problem Mr. X does, she just doesn't have much going for her. In game, she only has her claws and, well, like @SnakeSound222 said, that's it.

I would absolutely love to see Dracula(or Vlad, seeing as that who was in the cutscene) but, after what happened with the lady who fed people to pigs from the tomes(Revelations) and how a LOT of people thought that was going to be a future killer, I sadly just think it’s for a lord expansion perspective. I’d be happy to be wrong on this one though, like I said, would love to see it added eventually.

Personally speaking, a lot of the RE8 characters are quite low on my RE killer totem poll. It’d still be very cool because it’s RE but, I’m sorry, those characters just don’t really do much for me. At this point, if it is a hint, it’s either hinting at RE3 or RE8 both respectfully being Nemesis or one of the daughters. For now though given BHVR’s history, I’m gonna go with RE3.

Well, if this is the case then, sadly, this (probably) means absolutely nothing because the skull with black tar is just the same one used last year. Which, I don’t mind because, if that really is the case, they’ll probably make some cryptic hints about it on their Twitter(s) or in some other post. So, no matter what, if this banner has no teaser, they’re coming eventually.

Personally, I REALLY hope that the zombies are incorporated into the killers power. Like, somehow turning the survivors into zombies would be incredibly cool imo.

Completely agree, I'm part of the crazy team that hopes they could bring in 2 survivors and 2 killers this chapter because of just how damn huge the Resident Evil franchise is.

Has and always will be Nemesis! Will love basically anything that comes with the chapter though.
The only TWO options that would slightly disappoint me is if it's Dr. Salvador, he seems better as a legendary skin for one of the chainsaw bros and, a zombie... just a regular old, run of the mill zombie. I could see lots of skins happening for a zombie and some sort of infection mechanic for a power but, that's about it. Plus, imho, RE was never just about zombies, they're certainly there but the other monsters and BOW's have stood out far better then the common undead.

I’m really looking forward to them all but, Myers is one of the top ones. He looks pretty good from a far or at a medium distance away but then, when you really start to look at him closely, his mask does look a bit derpy.

Well, Resident Evil was my number 1 dream chapter but the next four down the line are F13, Alien, FNAF and The Thing. That being said, there’s a LOT of other licenses I’d like to see, some probably that are never going to happen like Dead Space but, hey, I can dream. :)

Yeah, I believe they want to see who the community votes for first then they'll slowly reveal the other three over the coming weeks depending on how popular they are. So, basically, most popular shown off first to the least popular shown off last kinda ordeal. That's just my opinion though.

HELL YEAH! I still watch Scooby-Doo, Mystery Incorporated was a fantastic revival series that I think is honestly under appreciated. Plus, I have all the old series/movies to watch and all that and, yes, both Zombie Island and Witch's Ghost are fantastic to this day. :D
