It wasn't just killer mains saying "Don't you dare".
It was most of the community, survivor and killer alike. You're in the minority because you can't loop a Billy.
Neither can most of the community it seems, otherwise he wouldnt be overperforming.
Lol those survivor mains are the type that barely ever play killer and in the small number of times when they do they always go to Billy, hmm I wonder why 🤔 maybe it was the fact that he was low effort, high reward.
But the same people will still go on a witchhunt against Spirit.

Hooray! Killer mains cried loud enough to reverse the nerf. So I guess he will just keep overperforming. Way to hold the line devs, you took weeks of abuse for a change that was long overdue only to scale it back to nothing in the end.
Lol exactly. I’ve been watching tru3 and Otz play him and that overheat might as well not exist considering it never comes into play despite them sprinting and instadowning constantly.
The fact that they will ignore their own data for balance just to please a few whiny players is ridiculous.
-
People on here love to boast that Hillbilly at basekit was “perfectly balanced”.
Therefore by their own logic he doesn’t need add ons, as that would make him OP and ruin that perfect balance 😌
-
I’m disappointed too.
BHVR: Hillbilly is overperforming so we’re going to add an overheat mechanic
Killer mains: Don’t you dare!
BHVR: Err....ok we will be so generous with the charges and cooldown that the mechanic literally might as well not exist. There we go we fixed Billy by letting him play exactly as he did before. Please don’t be angry at us anymore precious killer mains!!

They should have nerfed his ability to run a lap around the map and THEN be able to chase a survivor around a loop. Most players wanted to see the skill part of his game kept but his map presence would dominate in the right hands.
Addons were nerfed though which was the real necessity.
Yeah feathering wasnt the issue, it was being able to run from corner to corner, instadown, run to other side of map, instadown, run back to other side to tunnel off hook.
He can still do all of that no problem.

Yeah, I was wondering who would say such stuff about the most balanced killee until I read your name.
The most balanced killer.....lol. They literally said he was overperforming dude.
-
Yeah seen him on a few streams, chainsaws across the map 3 times in a row then instadowns 2 survivors without even coming close to overheating.
What an absolute joke. There was no point in even adding the cooldown. The balance team identify an issue but then cave in to pressure from the loudest voices online. Its really kind of sad how much control a small number of people have over the development team.
I wouldnt be surprised if he gets some charge time and curve add ons back in the hotfix too.
Its cowardly.

Here's screenshots if you also think I'm lying about survivor mains thinking the nerf was unjustified
Lmao at listening to Ayrun or taking his opinion seriously.
He just wants to show off, and what better way to show off than bullying overpowered but lesser experienced players in your thousands of hours swf.
-
Remember when everyone said basekit Billy was balanced and just needed his add ons nerfed?
Weeks on everyone begging for his chainsaw affecting add ons back lmao Shows you what Billy players were really like
-
I think it means progress from your recent session, not total progress since you first started playing years ago
-
Because of killers like Billy that can slug all 4 survivors with his m2 pretty quickly
-
@PapaPizzeriaErotica said:
One of the Devs said in another thread that they would take a look at his addons, and possibly change some.
So that was a lie. :þ
Just like killer mains said basekit billy was balanced and only his addons were a problem and they would be fine with them changed but now they’re crying for the charge speed, cooldown, and running/turning speed add ons back. So that was all a lie too.
-
Except Huntress isn’t overperforming. The only thing that needs changing with Huntress is the Iri head/Infantry belt combo.
Why ignore all the killer buffs? LF, Doctor, Freddy all received huge changes and buffs. Then killers like plague, clown and huntress all got smaller changes which resulted in a buff.
Nurse and Billy were atop the totem pole for years.
-
I guess survivors overperforming on gentimes isnt a problem then? Revert the recent generator changes.
-
All you had to do was put time into survivor, especially solo and you could see it.
Say you go against most other killers and you’re win/loss is 50/50, but everytime you go against a Billy you realize that 9/10 games he’s winning, there’s something off with that killer.
No its not always bad survivors. Average Billys were wrecking average survivors time and time and time again. Because when you have access to double speed and unlimited instadowns with minimal punishment or cooldown all it takes it one bit of luck in a 10 minute game to pull off a snowball the survivors cant come back from.
Unless you were lucky enough to be given 4 good loopers you werent making it out the exit gates against a Billy.
I think new Doc is in the same boat. He’s not as overpowered as Billy was but hes probably too strong for how easy he is to play. I notice Docs tend to win almost all of their games. Theres no need to build up madness now, you just press a button and find survivors instantly. There’s no timing at loops now, you just spam shock and you’ll get them. Dont get me wrong old Doc was garbage and new Doc isnt as overpowered at the highest level but he probably needs a little more skill to his power to balance him out for average players. As it stands now an average killer can pick Doc and destroy an average survivor team with multiple gens remaining. I would bet money he’s overperforming to some degree.

They probably should have nerfed infectious fright.
Infectious is like BBQ. Its fine on most killers, only Nurse and Billy were the killers who became problematic.
Just like how slugging got nerfed a while back mostly because of these 2 killers.
Why should perks be ruined for everyone else because of 1 or 2 killers?

This is why you should never invest in killers addons and stuff. Focus on building survivors and getting items and addons for them.
Yeah so glad all the instaheals, green medkits and toolboxes I have for my survivors haven’t received any changes.
Wonder if anyone has any 2016 BNPs laying around too.

Then that means that it was poorly written/communicated, not just a matter of people misinterpreting it because "people read what they wanna hear."
I think thats the case it was communicated poorly.
They say they’re happy with the way he performs and then go on to say he can traverse the map and instadown. So they are happy with him having both powers, they just wanted a cooldown to balance it.
Because people were asking for bigger changes like gas cans or 110% speed which would have drastically changed him.
I dont think the devs have backpeddled at all on this I think they just didnt explain themselves very well. They wouldnt have nerfed Billy for no reason without stats to justify it. As of the last stats he was the 2nd most picked killer in the game with the 2nd highest killrate. He was definitely overperforming.
-
I dominated on it. Survivors couldnt find gens so they went slow. Makes a change from rotten fields insta-gens I guess.
Players hate being so close yet so far from onjectives. As survivor you see a hooked survivors aura 10m away through a wall, but you need to walk around for 30m to get there. Likewise as killer you hear a survivor on a gen just 8m away through the wall but its a 30m walk down 2 halls before you can get there. Midwich, hawkins, and the haddonfield and badham long fences all provoke this feeling. Players on both sides find it a little stressful and annoying. I hope the map designers finally take this into consideration in the future.
That said I would still take midwich over hawkins which is an absolute abomination of a map. Hawkins and rotten fields, the two worst maps in the game and coincidentally the two that are the most one sided, with hawkins being the most dangerous and rotten fields being the safest in the latest stats we had.
-
I’m glad to see sets come back. I liked when they used to do that for killers like Clown and Spirit.
Should have tied it in with a greek killer and new ancient greece map
-
The David skin will be the de facto toxic skin for a while
-
🙄
Really goes to show, even the slightest nerf and some people lose their minds and act like its completely ruined. A lot of people dont want true balance they just want to win.

"We are happy with how Billy is performing. He is a well balanced killer. Which is why we are introducing cooldown to his chainsaw and nerfing his add-ons to the ground and making sure that he can never curve or apply map pressure effectively and make him use M1 more"
Oh please. Aside from add ons hes no different. The amount of charges he gets is so generous he might as well not have a cooldown. All this does is stop him holding the chainsaw rev’d and camping a survivor for the full hook stage.
-
Well would you look at that. Hillbilly was overperforming compared to other killers, which is what anyone without a huge bias for one side could realize.
I assume the 1st quote was misread. They like Billy having the power that he has - for the most part - but it needed a few tweaks. You have to understand some people were saying Billy should need to collect gas for his chainsaw, or should move at 110% speed. I think they were saying no his power is fine the way it is and doesnt need major changes, just some kind of limitation.
-
Lol Jason could feel far more useless than a DBD killer if the survivors knew what they were doing and had the right perks. You slash them with a machete, no reaction. They hit you with a frying pan, instant KO and Jason goes down. People brought perks so that every hit was a KO.
What DBD needs from RE Resistance is points penalty rather than a timeout penalty, escalating to a timeout penalty for repeat offenders. That way you can dc due to bugs/trolls/hackers and just eat the points and only people who make a habit of it get an actual matchmaking ban.
-
We’ll make it speed bonus applies to gen speeds after an unhook
-
Billy, Bubba and Legion.
-
Its getting more frequent but still silence from Behaviour.
Oh well just wait till dc penalties are back. Cant wait, then hackers get to have their fun and people cant disconnect against them.

So killers are not allowed to make one mistake... or rather, they shouldn't be able to come back from one mistake? And survivors are allowed to make many, many mistakes? That is... that is just not fair. There should be a chance for recovery if you play strategically. Survivors should, and killers should. But survivors at the moment are just given way too many second chances.
New billy won't be able to make the same kind of comeback billy now is capable of.
How did you get that from my post?
Each side should have a chance to come back but Billy is the one killer that can play extremely poorly all game and turn it around in an instant at any point in the trial. You shouldnt be able to cheese a victory.
-
Used to be never but these days seems to be a little more common. What happens is I wait to hit them due to everyone having crutch hard but then you end up right next to them at which point the survivors are so small in height they disappear out of your fov which is what makes it easier for them to 360. Just like how 360s work better in corn due to the temporary loss of vision.
If I know they dont have DH then its rare unless “aim dressing” pulls me away
-
As survivor if I escape. That's all I care about. Ideally through the exit gates. If I die but get a pip it's a consolation prize. I'll still try and help others escape too.
As killer 3+ kills. 2 is a draw and I'm satisfied with that. If all 4 escape but I 2 hook everyone then it's not too bad.
-
Feels good when you've had a wraith facecamping all game, your potato teammates feed him free kills rather than rushing gens, and you pull out a key and tbag him at the hatch.
-
Myers are generally pretty chill, Bubba’s love to farm. Trappers arent always bad
Worst are ghostafce and deathslingers. They’ll camp and tunnel people out asap and give the ez post game
-
its not just when they’re on the floor. I play survivor and if Im injured my survivor makes no sounds. However I dont know if thats just for me or if others players can still hear my survivor or not.
-
Considering all the posts about people being disconnected and getting banned I dont think increasing them is a good idea.
-
And when it comes back the disconnects will go back to hook suicides, and when one survivor gives up early the rest usually do after. It wasnt much better with them.
At least now if someone quits in the first 60 seconds I can quit too and find a new game. Whereas before when someone quit you got a few miniscule pity points and were expected to play out the rest of a tilted, unfun game. Punished despite doing nothing wrong.

Are you kidding? Golden nugget, too sexy, the captain one, he has some of the best

I've always been fascinated by the argument that solo survivor is worse than killer because, as a mediocre survivor, I genuinely have less stress in red rank solo queue than as red rank killer. Sure, potato teammates exist, but it doesn't happen nearly as often as people seem to claim it does...and even if it does, that game is going to be over quicker and you can move on to the next one as soon as you're out. If the game's going poorly as killer you're stuck there until the last person gets out the gate/hatch. It's a sunk cost fallacy but you literally CAN'T not sunk cost it if the game's going poorly as killer. But if you get tunneled off the hook as your rando teammates farm you, that's a three minute game and you'll be with different ones next time to probably have a better game.
I don't have any IRL friends who play this game anymore, and organizing with the couple internet friends I have doesn't pan out more often than it does, so I play solo almost always. I cannot say I've ever logged off after a couple hours of solo survivor hating the game, I've definitely done that after a couple hours of killer if the matches were particular crap. And I genuinely do enjoy killer more when I'm having a night where I'm not off my game for whatever reason...just if I want to play DbD but be guaranteed to be in a decent mood quitting it later on, then I'm playing survivor.
No the potato teammates really are that common. They didnt use to be but the rank reset changes are where it all went sour along with an influx of new players over the last year. Everybody is red ranks now.
Killer destroys your potato team in 3 minutes via camp and tunnel and then slugs for the 4k making the game drag on. It’s dire.
I’m hoping MMR brings back the glory days where all the good survivors get out together.
EU region btw

Apparently not, I see so many killers using a VPN from halfway across the world.

Yeah farm or archive challenge, which is the same as farming I guess

yeah, running around a tree log or a big rock huntress for 30 seconds is really scary and doesn't absolutely ruins every effort put in to make the game horror.
Or when you’re repairing a generator, look across and see a large man in a pink elephant costume chasing a man in an elf costume around and around and around in circles with the elf giving a little tbag every now and then.

No, not because you apparently "stomp" all lobbies (which you don't). You have no limit, you almost feel "free" if that makes sense, making it fun.
Other killers with limitless abilities are fun, wraith is fun, but not strong. Doctor is pretty good, slinger only has the reload cooldown, demo has very little CD etc.
Of course this is usually the communities stance on fun killers and it's very subjective, but you understand what i'm getting at.
Wraiths ability doesnt give him 230% speed nor can it instadown. Also the huge bing bong and slow down is a downside.
Doctor has a cooldown on his 360 blast, and his other shock attack is non-lethal
Demo has a cooldown on a teleport
Theres a huge difference between those and an ability which can both instadown and cross the map in seconds. He would never be made like that today without a limit on his ability.

What if Thana had decreasing returns? 6% for 1 person, 11% for 2, 15% for 3, 18% for 4? As it stands, when you look at the actual numbers, you're better off running Pop and only using it once. It is one of the most overblown perks in the game. The only time it has a measurable effect is when it's got 3-4 tokens and the survivors are split up, and that's a tall ask to begin with even ignoring that the effect is still rather small in that scenario. But maybe a bigger reward for 1 or 2 injuries might actually make it work better.
Edit: I should clarify, those numbers are total slowdown, not the amount of slowdown each person adds. 50% slowdown total? I'm not THAT malevolent.
This kind of thinking is better. Thana right now has the problem that Dying Light has, its useless for killer when you need it and oppressive for survivor when you dont.
Take Thana on Trapper and be chasing 1 injured person and thana does nothing. Meanwhile you go up against a top tier Nurse who is slaughtering everyone and has all 4 injured and thana is just adding insult to injury.
Like how dying light does nothing at the start of the game and by the time you have enough tokens for it to be effective theres only 2 survivors left and you’ve won the game anyway and the slowdown just forces them to give up even trying and hide for the hatch.
I agree with your idea that these perks should be a bit stronger for 1 survivor and a bit weaker for 4 survivors.
-
Perks like DS and BT can’t change because they exist to fix flaws in the game design. This is the problem with making your answer to everything perks.
Some of the others like exhaustion perks for example can be changed

This game really confuses me. In the video above, the comments on this very forum were about his "critical mistake" of chasing a guy for an additional 15 seconds, and that's why he deserved to lose the game. But here we see multiple people with their thumbs up their butts for 2 minutes is overrated. Which is it?!
This is a really good observation.

"a handful of salt"
It's going to be a bit more than that, maybe a saltmine.
At least the complaints about billy are valid, this change has made him incredibly unfun to play and you always feel like you're on a limit, which is why people liked old billy. No limit. Which with a power like his doesn't need one.
And that was exactly the problem with old billy, no limit, and with an on-demand instadown and 230% speed he sure as hell does need a limit on it
-
If they stealth and arent on gens for 2 minutes then thats 2 minutes for you to find a survivor, if you do then you get the headstart, rather than without corrupt where survivors get a headstart by jumping on a gen straight away.
It also halves the playing field for survivors that do rush to do gens. You no longer have the full map to control, only half as survivors once they have started a gen tend to commit to it.
Results can vary but its not a bad perk
-
Remove Legion and maybe.
