Situational awareness is still a skill. Getting a P3 outfit is an investment as it requires going through the bloodweb 3x. And using a perk like sprint burst in a way that benefits rather than hurts the team is a skill.
She can be almost impossible to see in some areas. You just urban evade around the map with high stealth due to the cosmetics, then when you finally are found you get a free getaway to the nearest ultra safe pallet.
Its very easy to play imo.

Both sides take skill, and in my personal opinion people saying survivor takes no skill or that looping isn’t skillful are overlooking what survivors have to do.
Identifying the killer, addons, perks, teammates perks, tying loops together to maximize usage of every resource to the best of their ability. Obviously swf removes certain things but it just bugs me when people say looping takes no skill.
All you have to do is play solo survivor these days and see how many cant last more than 10-20 seconds in a chase to realise that looping takes skill. Theres definitely something that seperates the pros from the beginners.
Granted some loops are ultra safe no matter what but other times you need to understand the killer and predict their next move or when they’re going to try and mindgame.
Also as survivor you need to know when to drop the pallet, or when you can save the pallet and link a nearby loop together to extend the chase. This is one that a lot of survivors seem to struggle with or dont want to risk leaving the safety of their pallet.

I didn't mean what I said as a personal attack, it's just that I've used the add-on several times, and i was not always able to get a hit as the survivors I faced learned what I was trying to do and dodged it accordingly. It worked sometimes, but not all the time.
Ok Im sorry. I just took it as that because its what I often see on here.
Billys tend to rev to force the pallet drop then they instantly break it. Now that break will result in a free hit. In addition most take enduring/spirit fury anyway. I know its an iridescent but I get the feeling you’re just going to end up with a killer whose getting a lot of free hits at pallets either due to the chainsaw or due to spirit fury, you’re damned if you drop early and damned if you get the stun.
Then of course when you’re left on a map with no pallets against a killer with 230% speed and unlimited instadowns you’re kinda boned.
I dont think theres going to be much survivors can do against a good Billy with the right perks/add ons.
-
In the developers eyes this serves you right for being disconnected. I bet this will teach you not to get disconnected anymore!!

P3 Blendette with sprint burst takes 0 skill

It'll certainly make him stronger against survivors who don't pay attention to what he's using, or are just...braindead.
Ah here we go with the “you suck” talk again.
Lets pretend he hasnt stood in everyones top 3 positions in tier lists for the past 4 years

Using the add-on to gets hits through the pallet will not always work, survivors can definitely dodge it if they know you're using it. Most of your hits with it will either be smart plays/predictions or them not knowing you have it. You're overestimating how good it actually is. It's good, just not THAT good.
Its something Billy didnt have before with no downsides. Its going to make him stronger.
-
@Warcrafter4 said:
Lopro's effect even without a downside isn't very useful.
There are hardly any straight ways pallets in the game outside of the double pallet on "The Game" which are by the bathroom/basement.
Even then on those maps given the stagger if inflicts on your ability to control it during the break makes hitting people even on that straight way incredibly hard as they will either reach the turn or will juke you due to your lack of control from the stagger.
LMAO
Its incredibly powerful. Most billys rev the chainsaw to get the pallet drop at which point they instantly destroy it, and most get spirit fury stacks. Now you have 2 choices you take the chainsaw or you drop the pallet and he zooms through and hits you.
Even if the survivor curves, the fact that you carry on forward as Billy is going to save some distance.
Add in billys latency hits and this is going to be incredibly strong.
-
I guarantee Lopro chains will become a much complained about add on.
Billy catches you in an unsafe area? Instadown
Catches you at a loop and you pallet stun him? Enduring/spirit fury followed by instadown
Put the pallet down early? He chainsaws through and hits you, then follows for the M1
Billys would either rev the chainsaw, making you drop the pallet to defend yourself having it instantly destroyed, or lunge for enduring/spirit fury.
Theres so many ways he’s getting the hit now. With no downsides.

What stats ? I hope you don't meant that 2 weeks sample was it, stats that people used as justification on their "this killer is OP" opinions.
The stats, developer forum posts, and devs on stream have all said she is doing really well statistically.

I kinda liked the DC'ers. As a fellow survivor - they always made me laugh as I thought it was ridiculous to DC. Especially at EGC - at that point I was like - seriously - why would you do that?
Insanity I tell you.
Then some of the killers would take mercy on you and I would get to be in some real chases that lasted more than 2 secs lol. Most of the killers took the extra time to make it full for everyone if you had an early DCer. I will miss that. Ahhh those were the days.
I really hope they managed to fix the difference between a crash and a DC though.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1487309#Comment_1487309
Trolls yes. AFK players - really? but nothing is wrong with a rank 20 - that depends on the person, not the rank. It's only a number. 😎
When you’re sat on a gen with them ans they fail 3 skillchecks in a row resetting your progress? And then they run off to crouch at the end of the map?
Yeah I’d say its a 3 vs 1 at that point, but the fact they’re actually REGRESSING gen progress means its basically 3 survivors vs 2 killers
-
I follow a few content creators and they’ve put out more videos of hackers in 2020 alone than all of 2018/2019 combined.
But hey dc penalties are back so just let the hackers make you their little toy for 10 minutes and enjoy it
-
Well. Back to being a killer main I guess until MMR comes in.
Dont really want to continue being put with trolls, afk players and rank 20s.
-
Mothers helper got changed. It will now be the add on every Billy takes outside of specialised builds.
So once again, basekit Billy no longer exists despite people that only play one side insisting he was “perfectly balanced” 🙄
Imagine being a company worth millions of dollars and taking orders from whiny entitled members of your forum LMAO
-
Now you add new add ons so that your typical enduring/spirit fury will have faster charge time all game too, despite you previously putting a huge downside on the only charge time add on.
You’ve caved in on everything you thought needed to be done for balance. Which means either you were completely wrong before or the company as a whole has no backbone when it comes to standing up to vocal players. Either way it’s sad and not a good look.
-
On the contrary, the company is terrified of offending people for the most part and will give them whatever they want even if it flies in the face of balance.
I think them completely caving in on the Billy changes is a perfect example of that.
Also Billy was getting more kills than Spirit. He needed the nerf. I like how everyone tries to throw her under the bus when Billy is actually easier to pick up and win with for most players.
-
I know the stats don’t reflect it but I would say Pig.
-
Her basekit is fine. I dont think she will get nerfed. The only flag is Iri head and Infantry belt combo.
I personally think she should keep her exhaustion add ons but I know they’re going to get removed. No way should a skillful long distance shot or split-second threading the needle shot be rendered void just because the survivor pressed E to dead hard.
-
So they decide he’s OP and that he needs a nerf.
They add an overheat then rollback on the overheat so hard it never comes into play.
They decide Billy cant have charge time add ons anymore as they unbalance him. To the point that for less charge time he has to be 4.4m/s movement speed. Now they roll that back so that he gets faster charge time just for eating a pallet stun and most billys take enduring/spirit fury anyway. Its a green add on so they will be the one most Billys take.
These devs are clueless. They make a decision then cave in as soon as the loudest voices on the forums complain.
For the most part the Hillbilly changes have been declared null and void. Hes barely any different than he was before now. What a waste of time and effort on the part of the programmers and balance team. They out the effort in for nothing in the end. Im not surprised the balance in the game isnt great, why should they care when everything gets reverted due to people that only play one side anyway?

There was a beta test for the new build and people were already pointing out how op strong the killer is. That's what makes this whole thing pretty bizzar that they would release the killer in the same state in which the players had viewed way too powerful for the live server.
how long have you been on the forums?
The developers are terrified of the most vocal members here. They complain for things to remain ridiculously strong or be buffed to be ridiculously strong and in the vast majoirty if cases that kind of pressure gets them what they want everytime.

Spirit says hello and even otz and tru3 said he was bad tru3 said he was just overrated.
Ok
1) Spirit isn’t as easy to play as most people make out. Thats why Billys mop up easily and inexperienced spirits resort to camping/tunneling hooks. Because they have no confidence in the phase walk. They mindgame themselves and end up out of position. Billy is 115% making him much easier to play for less experienced players.
2) Otz also said Billys overheat is basically non-existant now and not a factor. So the Billy “nerf” did nothing and he said that Billy without add ons is exactly the same as before. Funny how this is overlooked.
3) Thats tru3’s opinion and he’s entitled to it. He changes his opinion on killers a lot though based on a few bad games. I remember him arguing Billy was one of the few killers that didnt need old Ruin. He also considers wraith top tier when people like Otz out wraith as bottom-mid tier
-
Its called balance
-
I’m colourblind. I’m not sure if it plays into it but I find blood in the game hard to track and Blendettes are my nemesis.
However I’m coping mosty ok with the new auras. Distant ones can be hard to see, and the new auras are....a little funky looking. But im coping ok. I would like the old auras back though.
The old auras looked like human beings at a distance. The new auras dont resemble a human walking. Its like looking at the xray of a monkey or something with how survivors kind of hunch over. I would honestly make the auras more like the old ones or adjust distant auras.
-
Welcome to the fun that is Freddy.
If he camps its on you to run all the way across the map to the alarm clock and then back to the hook before you’re allowed to use a perk designed to offer some glimmer of hope against camping.
Great design. Real fun. Fun for one side at least which is all that matters to this company these days

Scott jund also admits that killer has basically no chance to win against good swf.
He also basically said that all the killers other than spirit and nurse are essentially crap and that is why he is scared of the mmr system because he will not see any other killers.
Scott changes his opinion more than I’ve had hot dinners.
He also once said killer was braindead easy and there has been mostly killer buffs/survivor nerfs since then so...
-
Nobody is going to deny thats a toxic build, and personally the 8 seconds? Of endurance seems a little too much from soul guard...
However people acting like the killer had no way of seeing it coming...
He sees 4 survivors with the same meme name at the start. Big indication something he up. He mentions their medkits and about taking franklins but decided not so. Franklins to take away their medkits would have impeded their ability to self-heal after broken status ended.
He realizes after the first soul guard endurance whats happening, yet continues to hit the person who just got up all throughout the game rather than going for the person who did the rescue, and twice he rushes to hit survivors who clearly just popped the endurance add on right in front of him giving them a speed boost. Nobody is expecting him to play perfectly but theres some kind of disconnect here because if you listen to him he clearly understands early whats going on but then refuses to play around it.
End of the day he could have and should have just thrown on an ebony the moment he saw that lobby
-
People disconnect because they’re unhappy with the state of the game.
I’m a 2000 hour tryhard. I play very competitively. I’m being put as survivor with actual rank 20s with barely any time on the game. You sit on a gen with them and they fail skillcheck after skillcheck after skillcheck. They aren’t just useless to the team then, but they’re actively sabotaging my progress on the generator due to the failed skillcheck regression. 3 in a row!! After this they do what all rank 20s do and crouch around the edge of the map. So at that point our team is basically a player down for all intents and purposes.
I’ve been tilted and quit before. Call me entitled if you want but it’s ridiculous how in a game that only has a RANKED mode the game is failing to rank me with players of similar skill. I’ve never played any other ranked game that has failed this hard. I just want a good sweaty game on both sides like DBD used to be but my games now feel like I’m babysitting the new survivors and its not a good experience. My every move is getting them out of trouble which means we dont have a chance at doing generators. Ironically if im playing 2 man swf with a friend who is on the same skill level as me the game becomes much easier when the newbie survivors are dead. Because now we’re not having to break off gens to pull people off hooks or out of traps, now theres nobody feeding Myers unlimited stalk or Oni unlimited blood. One of us can competently run the killer and the other can do gens.
Of course when you played killer though its all red ranks. Click their profile and they’re all 3,500 - 5000 hours per survivor.

I hoped to see the devs address the camping mechanic of bubba, but with the new patch, I dare to say, he is even more fearsome near a hook than ever before. He can start charging his chainsaw even from a distance from the hook and by the time the survivor unhooks the other one, the chainsaw is already on its way to them and even if they manage to get some distance which would have been more than enough before, at least one of them if not both will still go down.
Well you see, the developers dont actually test their own game....
They probably ran a noob around a loop or two and called it a day

Oh No billys where he was before but alittle weaker boo hoo lol. Its better than ptb Billy where like all the fogwhispers said "this killer sucks"
Of course they did, they lost their ez win no effort killer
-
Why does everything have to stay the same? Why cant all the entitled killer mains here accept a nerf?
-
The Billy “rework” was a nerf. Nothing but a nerf but it had to be done for balance.
I guess what im saying is when you take a character that has stayed mostly the same for years and only offer a straight up nerf of course its going to be seen in a negative light. There was nothing they could have done with this that would make certain people positive about it. For Billy players there was nothing to look forward to because he wasnt getting anything better.
So I guess what im saying is all complaints about Billy should be taken with a pinch of salt. Theres no way you can nerf a killer and expect positive feedback about said nerf.
-
I dont wanna judge completely because I havent been able to test him enough yet but this wouldnt surprise me at all. Ever since the company became afraid of the loudest voices on the forums everything they put out now is basically about killers or things on the killer side that take no skill and offer zero counterplay.
The part about Bubba being able to make it out of the basement and render borrowed time useless is what worried me the most. Looking at his chainsaw I felt this may happen.
We all know in DBD if the killer has an ability to camp thats how it will be used so yeah good job to the developers on making basement Bubba builds meta
-
Lol at people that didnt understand the power of lopro chains before. They granted Billy so many free hits if you knew what you were doing with him.
Of course this is a generation of players used to instasaw though.
I’m sure new Billy will be fun with these. Constant pressure of instadowns all game. “Just loop him!” Yeah but all Billys have enduring/spirit fury, so now you gotta drop the pallet early to avoid stunning him, at which point its easier for a decent billy to prep the chainsaw to smash right through it and hit you anyway then you can follow with an M1
I hate these developers sometimes

Survomainer detected lol. First base kit isn't same and now he need good addons
Killer main detected
His base wasnt touched and the overheat is so generous that it pretty much never comes into play
If he needs add ons now then he needed them before, or if he was “perfectly balanced” as people loved to say then hes perfectly balanced now
Basically now his no skill add ons have gone everyone is upset. Dont worry he still has more going for him than half the roster

That's a pretty one sided point of view, most people said his basekit was fine, and that his specifically, addons that decreased chainsaw charge time, was the problem child here.
No one is complaining about his chainsaw charge time addons being tossed, literally no one cares about that, cause that is what we were suggesting for years.
What we do care about, is how there are multiple addons, that are completely useless is most situations and gimmicky and best. So now, there are only a handful that are actually worth while, namely the overheat addons and steering addons.
Stop taking things out of context and read properly please.
Actually there has been a number of people complaining about the lack of charge time add ons, or the fact that the only one comes with a huge downside.
His add ons are fine. Gimmicky but dont alter his base power.
What add ons are you wanting? Charge time? Cooldown? Curving? If basekit Billy is “perfectly balanced” as all the killer mains here suggested then why is he supposedly now “trash tier” without add ons? Its all a lie to be quite honest.
-
Honestly I think it’s garbage. They wanted to nerf Billy so they created an overheat mechanic but due to pressure they caved and made it so that he now pretty much never overheats....which begs the question what was the point of changing him in the first place.
I wish they would have shown some courage.
-
Lucky you. I played survivor hoping to go against Bubba or Billy and I had some actual rank 20 survivors who couldnt do skillchecks and your usual spirits that cant use her power in a chase so they just use it to rush back to hooks for the tunnel. Dull.
-
Probably the instasaw and crack billy add ons back 🙄
-
Yeah the overheat mechanic was a complete waste of time and resources for the company. This is what happens when you cave in to pressure. You pretty much never overheat and never have to do "resource management" as they tried to pass it off as.
-
I was watching Otz on stream and they've done something with Plague's purge now. It moves in more of an arc.
-
Killer mains a few months ago: "Billy is perfectly balanced at basekit, only his add ons need a nerf"
Killer mains after Billy plays exactly the same but had his add ons nerfed: "OMG HE'S TRASH!! RIP BILLY!!! THEY KILLED HIM!111"
It shows how disingenuous the entire DBD community is. Everybody ran Billy with add ons, everybody. Especially for charge time, cooldown, or speed. Now he doesn't have those people want to trash on him. Basically they just want broken OP Billy back.
-
They balanced Bubba’s before. He had unlimited instadowns from the get-go, however the balance was he slowed down while charging which gave a survivor a chance to evade, and if Bubba missed he went into a long tantrum. That way he couldnt instadown survivors as base instantly from the start of the trial but if he caught survivors out of position, or they made a mistake and let him bodyblock a window they went down in one hit.
Then on the other hand you had a kilelr that can (and still can) casually walk behind a survivor with no real slowdown, aim it, swing, and if he misses its a miniscule small cooldown before he can swing again.
They will never balance Billy though. Hes been overpowered for so long the killer mains will never allow it and they tend to have the final say on most things
-
Lmao talk about an overreaction.
Billy is no different. Dont believe me? Fine. Listen to Otz hes said it himself Billy is basically the same as before and the overheat is non-existant.
Unless your complaint is that you cant instasaw anymore, which I would bet is what most Billy players are complaining about
-
Hopefully
-
On an open map like auto-haven, against a good Nurse yeah shes extremely deadly.
I’m not sure how you could nerf her any further at this point though without making her unplayable
-
a change to auras only affects killers it seems....despite the fact that survivors have tons of aura reading perks, and the fact that pictures on this very forum show that survivors are struggling too.
The bias and conspiracy theories on here are insane

Just stop - you'll just be buried how you are with all your conversations. Then you'll disappear for another month so people will forget how silly you made yourself look.

Amen.
Maybe if you took time to read the patch notes instead of trying to talk trash to people you disagree with....
”The Hillbilly has a versatile kit with traversal and double-damage effects as a part of his base power, leading this character to overperform compared to other Killers.”
Which is what people like myself and others who actually understand the game have been saying for a long time. It was obvious to anyone without bias that Hillbilly was overperforming and made most other killers look ridiculous.
