Getting adept on killer feels a lot more satisfying then getting one on survivor tho.
No joke. I mainly play on switch which doesn't have achievements, but when I play on steam I basically play for the achievements. I have adepts on two survivors, but none of the killers (mainly because I don't play enough on steam to have all 4 perk slots but whenever crossprogression releases will not only fix that but I won't have freaking tier 1 perks). At least because of how little I play on steam I'm in the grey/brown ranks (whatever color you want to call it) which makes them easier but when switching from controller almost all the time to mouse and keyboard can be a little... disorienting.

It seems like Crossplay made the Survivor Queues for PC players worse. Because Console brought in quite a bunch of Survivors, while the number of Killers in crossplay is smaller.
It also does not help that Killer players can disable Crossplay on Console and still have instant Queue times.
Console killers disable crossplay because they hate how pc players treat them and act all high and mighty.
-
I'm down for this if it chooses at random. It probably has balancing issues but that's why it's Ultra Rare. Maybe if they also made it so only one of those can be played in a round? Although I don't know how they'd do that.
-
I think the first 15 bloodwebs should all offer 2 perks (with the Entity still not coming into play until Level 10) then after that each Bloodweb offers 4 perks. That way it's easier to get the perks you want. Maybe that reduces the grind to much or it increases it a bit idk, but that's what I think should happen.
-
I wouldn't mind them getting rid of perk tiers, but I feel like they won't do that until they just have too many perks in the game and the grind is literally unbearable. Atm it's pretty bad, but I wouldn't say it's unbearable. I prestige my characters and got my Pig up to Prestige 3 Level 50 just before Pyramid Head came out and then got all the perks to Tier 3 on her before Blight's PTB and I didn't exactly play her every single match. It's the same exact thing with my David King too.

I love how the art shows a Santa Blight instead of the already Santa Clown. Just for that and seeing how good it can look can we get a Santa Blight cosmetic?
-
You guys do realize that the patch notes are misleading right? Me and my friends tested this. You just have to be dead on hook to be moriable. So if you're a split second too late and your teammate reaches second state, they can be mori'd.

What do you want? You want the dev to waste time coming on Stream to tell you his work isnt ready yet?
What is anything to you?
No I don't expect them to go on stream and tell us every last thing they're working on, that's stupid. I'm just saying that for stuff they've already confirmed to be happening it would be nice if they gave us a ballpark guess of when it will release instead of keeping us in the dark until the day of. They don't have to give us a guess when they first announce it, but something like crossprogression where they have said the same thing over and over again for a while now, it would be nice if they gave more useful updates when they give a status update instead of the same very vague script that has yet to change.

i'd take a guess that the key update will happen for the midchapter patch, as for crossprogression I believe its mostly a thing with sony and microsoft taking forever to allow it.
That's true for XBox and Play Station, but they already confirmed that Switch was for sure getting it, but all they've ever said on the matter is "It's on the way". Like no, I don't expect them to say "It's coming out on this specific day" but I'd like a ball park guess instead of logging on every day hoping that day is the day and always being disappointed. Like how with crossplay they said that it would probably be out before the first snow in... I forget the exact city, and then they delivered. It was out in August. The key update will probably be midchapter or chapter. If they were going to wait for everyone to be on board for crossprogression before releasing, I don't think Steam or Stadia would have it.
-
If anything they should make it so that the bleed out timer is faster after you've healed completely and start crawling, like 1.5x or something.
-
I can agree with this, the same goes for me and my friends. We have pretty different schedules so it wasn't so much daily as it was a weekly thing. Now as a group we don't have much incentive to play cuz queue times are so long. Some of us still play, but on our own time. Swf seems like too much of a hassle for 20 minute waits.
-
I used to be a killer main, but then when the archives released I switched to not maining a specific side. Here's my advice:
- Higher controller sensitivity (I have everything set to 100 and rarely 360's work on me cuz they just get smacked to the ground)
- For Billy specifically: Use turning add-ons and collision add-ons along with Infectious Fright if you have it, I also really love Lopros Chain
-
The power of the single killer should equal the power of four survivors working together. To an unorganized team that would be really strong, but if the team is working together then it should be a fairly good match where there are some kills but maybe not everyone.

I don't have this issue when I play with an Elodie in the game or when I play as her - any chance someone can get a brief recording of it please? And also what platform this is on.
This has been an ongoing problem on Nintendo Switch. Since the chapters release. Along with Badham Preschool not being on switch even though the chapter is.
-
This isn't even a new bug, there are platforms where this has been the case since release and it's been reported and like most things the devs don't seem to care.
-
I've been having this problem since Blight's release, I just thought it was annoying.

I honestly suspect it was a change aimed to improve Baby Survivor experience. I don't see many killers above Green slotting Moris. I have dozens, haven't used one in months. Maybe it's a thing in the lower ranks.
But seriously, guys, optics. You publish a broken, early release state killer who has to basically camp, slug and play like a scumbag to have a chance. You nerf Pop but not DS... you now gut Moris but not Keys... it seems like you have something against killer players at this point. What's next? Hex Totem rework that makes it so they're attached to Survivors' back and when the killer attacks one, he breaks it himself?
Don't encourage them lol

I'd buy any sweaters they gave killers as a killer main. When Legion's first released I bought Joey's since he's the main member of the Legion I use when playing.

I say keep Object of Obsession but just rework it. They're never going to delete perks from the game, especially when they are unlockable because they are personal perks.
-
@Dehitay said:
I didn't hear about the changes. Does anybody have a link? Or can they say what the changes are?
They haven't said anything in a while. They have said though that they're working on a change for both keys and moris. There aren't any details atm.

bubba is almost always faster than you think and when he's using his chainsaw you end up with lots of speed! without video i doubt it's hacking as i know bubba can be faster than expected. HOWEVER I will not rule it out just because.
I think they meant the Bubba disconnected and the Bubba said that the two survivors (or at least one of them) was speed hacking. If Bubba was speed hacking than I feel like those two would have just gone down again.
-
I think your first option probably works better because the second one will cause tunneling even more than now. My only question is how would you change keys. Moris can't be nerfed in that way but then have one survivor bring a key/find a key and have 2-4 survivors all jump in the hatch (depending on part of the match and situation). If you have a reasonable solution to keys so that those don't become way better than moris (when they are essentially the same concept but for the different sides), then I think the first option would work best. Assuming those two options were the only options.
-
They want people to play with new content instead of maxing the characters out then going back to their mains and never play the new characters. I think if they just felt like they HAD to put a cap on it, the cap should have been higher. It's not the best reasoning, but it's what we were told the reason was.

Bad players are ALLWAYS Console players, that's a fact!
(i) This claim about Console players is disputed.
I was going to yell at you until I read the "(i)" part lol, not all console players are bad. It's just that when you're used to it, mouse and keyboard is better. Console players learned how to play in a different style to pc players. Funny enough, when I play with crossplay off pallets don't go down as fast as people say they do against console players. I think it's the fear of how much better pc players set up is so pallets go down faster.
-
As a console player I'd like to say, NO CONSOLE PLAYER WANTED TO DEAL WITH YOU PC PLAYERS. If you're a pc player just now realizing crossplay was a bad idea than good on you. I don't think there were many console players who thought crossplay was a good idea before they even announced it. Why do you think a lot of us have it off?

We all saw the posts, the "I'm not playing Dead By Daylight This Weekend As A Killer Main", "Bloodlust is needed" etc etc. So I would like to pose some questions to those who have been experimenting with it...
- Was it really as bad as you thought?
- Is it a mechanic that you think could be changed now due to the state of the game?
- How would you change it?
- And finally, how was your week? :)
- Nope, not as bad as I thought it would be. I found I just tweaked how I play as killer and things are fine.
- I think it should be changed, maybe not completely removed unless they want to completely change how Beast of Prey works
- I have no idea how I would change bloodlust, maybe just make it so you can't get more than 1 tier of it
- My week was long and rough
-
@FixThisGame69 said:
Killer mains should gather together and protest in some way. Remove bloodlust? Fine. We will facecamp 1 person dead every game. Make this game unfun.
Problem is they don't care if we facecamp because they call that a fair strategy.

LoL 35 maps. I get 4. Badham, ormond, haddonfield, macmillan, it's like macmillan has increased odds right now.
Badham is 5 maps, Macmillan is 5 maps, Ormond is 1, and Haddonfield is 1. You didn't list 4, you listed 12 maps.
-
I play on Nintendo Switch with crossplay off as killer. When I do it (and it's extremely rare) it's probably because I remember the person and they were extremely toxic to me at one point and I'd stop at nothing to make sure they're dead. Eat the DS, eat the BT, eat the everything.
-
Unless killers start complaining too there's no use to complain about NOED. There are counters to it and to act like those counters don't exist or are useless counters is just stupid. It really is luck if it activates and it's luck if you keep it. Generally if you're bad at killer you might get 1 or 2 kills with NOED but you probably won't get 4. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I'm not sure it's as often as you're making it sound.

Can confirm, tier 1 is 15 seconds. When I play any killer other than Nurse, if a Survivor refuses to drop a pallet I will get to tier 1 bloodlust most chases. If experienced killers say they don't need it and new killers say they do, then what's the point of touching it? If it doesn't affect these people then why fight to get it out of the game?
I feel like it's probably mostly survivors saying it so that they can have stronger loops because certain loops unless you're a god mindgamer you can't easily catch survivors at without bloodlust.
-
Since it's just for the weekend don't stress about it. If they eventually take away bloodlust they'll deal with things to keep the game balanced. They would probably either replace it with something that works better in the 2020 play style or take it away and buff/nerf a bunch of stuff to make things better. They'd probably also rework a lot of the tiles that still need to be dealt with.
-
@SunderMun said:
What? Bloodlust is an outdated mechanic and killers already get more points than survivors because they get to interact with the other side all game.
If you consider looping you well enough that you need a booster from bloodlust, then I think you should try to learn to improve at mindgames.
So you've never benefited from bloodlust? All your chases are 30 seconds or less? I'm pretty sure it takes 15 seconds to gain bloodlust 1 so if you don't need bloodlust then I guess you must have short chases.
-
I like my 4ks and I think it's stupid if 5 gens are left to let someone go.

Killer sitting on hatch when the last survivor is around is taking game hostage. Survivor sitting on hatch is not hostage because the game will end with the death of the other survivor and the killer finding hatch.
I'd like to reply and be like "YOU'RE BEING SURVIVOR SIDED YOU TOXIC LITTLE SURVIVOR MAIN" but I can see why that would be true. Although would you say that helping your teammate should be a higher priority if you could both get out would be better? Not like reportable but just to be a better teammate.

"As we know this perk isn't used how it was supposed to be used, it's most abused perk in the game."
Do you mean like Slugging and Camping and Tunneling are abused? Wait, nvm. DS can actually be prevented from being used and even then it can only be used once. Slugging and Camping though.... you can use those at any time and they aren't even perks.
Comparing a perk to something that really shouldn't be called a strategy but is is a really bad comparison
-
I think the entity kind of just abused the fact that she is very loyal to her "god" so the entity sort of brainwashed her into thinking the Entity was said god. That way the Plague thinks she's doing her god's work when she's not. There's lots of theories that she was picked up because she caught this Plague so the disease is doing more work than Adiris herself.

I just hate how counters to these issues are relegated to having to bring insurance perks rather than just being built in mechanics. Feels like BT is a must with how frequently killers come back to the hook. Had a game earlier where a Nurse ran down a teammate off hook due to no obsession and then tried to do it to me and was almost successful.
It just really kills build diversity when I have to run 2-3 perks each game to guarantee the killer is punished if they play like a total douche and most teammates rarely bring any of them in solo play. It sucks even more to be a newer player and not even have immediate access to all of them at a time.
I agree, that's why I don't camp and tunnel (or at least try too in some cases) because I know there will be Decisive Strike/Borrowed Time in the match. It makes it unfun to play killer and survivor when I know what people are going to be running because people won't stop camping and tunneling then say "If it was a problem the devs would take it out of the game" like it's a game mechanic when they know it's not. They just want to get away with it and drive survivors to use the same 2-3 perks.
-
@HulkHodn said:
To get kills? I see more survivors rushing the hoook instead of doing gens. And if i only see the unhooked person why not tunnel? Why should i waste time?
I don't mean like if survivors just rush the hook before you leave or you come back and only see the unhooked survivor. I'm talking about intentionally staying around the hook even if no one is around (and maybe you know it cuz you have BBQ) and then after the person gets unhooked (while still around) you keep going after the unhooked person.
-
@piggypablo said:
Camping and tunneling should be neutral terms. If it was a problem, it would be taken out of the game, but camping/tunneling are game mechanics. If there are no leads on generators, why wander aimlessly on the map wasting time and easing up the pressure? It is a legit strategy. If there are no obsessions, you can assume there isn't anyone running DS, so it's safe to tunnel. What is the question exactly?
You are hypocritical. You called camping and tunneling a game mechanic and then 2 sentences later called it a strategy. If you believe your second sentence then it can't be a strategy. Seriously, you can't take strategies out of games. The reasoning that if it's a problem then it would be taken is not a reason because you can't take out a human beings behavior. I want to know why people do camp and tunnel, to sit there and fight me about it isn't answering the question.
-
@piggypablo said:
"That's not true, every round where I've camped and tunneled I've either just depiped or ranked down."
Sounds like a personal problem.
"I think I've only once seen someone 4k with that "strategy." (It's not a strategy)"
Why do you think it's not a strategy?
"It's not good for either side"
If a killer routinely gets 4k by camping/tunneling, why wouldn't it be good for his side?
You didn't answer my question though, all you did was attack my view. Thank you for your honest input though.
-
I play both sides and only complain if someone is being outwardly toxic (like with DS and Unbreakable so they know they've got their minute of invincibility or a killer who is tunneling when they were camping) because it's stupid and kinda awful. Also, survivors who teabag at the hatch when there's five gens left because that's stupid. You lost.
-
The ptb is only for a week unless the amount of people drops below a certain number I'm pretty sure. Then they just close it early. This time it was the full week though. I'm pretty sure the mid-chapter's ptb was only like 2.5 days.
-
I get it because I play enough that I get my money back and also because it's a really good deal for the amount of cosmetics you get. I do a little math before I buy each rift to figure out how much I'm saving on those cosmetics if they were in the shop vs the rift. It's a lot of money.

When I want to earn BP fast, I put on BBQ, Beast of Prey, Distressing, and Whispers. (Thrill of the Hunt is a Hex, so it's not reliable for earning BP. Whispers will help ensure that you're not in an empty area of the map, which is why I like it. Maybe you don't need it and would prefer to have something to help slow down gen repairs like Pop or Ruin. It depends on your playstyle.)
Spirit is good for BP earning because she earns points just for phase walking. Doc is good for BP because he's Doc.
That reasoning for Doc being good for bp is the most TRUE THING I'VE EVER READ LOL

BBQ on killer is a must. Don’t know what else helps here..
edit: I find certain killers like Doc and Legion are easier to get Bp in all category’s, while Plague is harder even when playing well
On survivor I use WGLF (which finally got another effect) and Prove thyself to max out lightbringer points. Something for survival category would also help: Selfcare, DS (stunning and escaping as obsession give bonus points here), Inner Strength. If you are not good at looping, concentrate on totems for points here, maybe a perk that helps find them (Detectives Hunch or Small Game) or a map

BBQ, Maybe Distressing, Thrill of the hunt, Beast of prey, and maybe you can switch Distressing with something else if you really want to win.
Bloody Party streamers, use a Gateau if you have one
Play Legion or Doc as they are fantastic for bp farming. You can also play Bubba, Myers, Trapper, Billy, Freddy, Nurse, Wraith, or Hag, because they all have offerings that give you bonus bloodpoints.
Thank you, that helps a lot. Also, I'm on Switch so unfortunately Freddy is a no go for now lol

okay... why would the Entity age 17 year old survivors to 21?
also based on the lore from Freddy and Quintin, it seems to take place right after the film when Nancy's (Nightmare on Elm Street Nancy) mother was killed, so Quintin and Freddy was taken around the same time
he would still be 17 when he was abducted but could be 18 at the latest.
and sure of what the other people are saying that Nancy is 18 and Steve is 19, but that's still below 21. still proving my point that not all characters are at least 21 years old or over
I don't know. The entity feeds on hope and strong emotions so maybe those of someone 21 or older tastes better? If the entity even tastes.
