There is no cross progression in DBD. You must mean cross play. They are two entirely different things.

I'm either really tired and can't tell you're joking or you actually don't know that steam and stadia have had crossprogression for the last 2.5-ish months.

  • @Selliato said:

"and I'm sure XBox and Playstation players would want more of an update of if there's even a CHANCE that microsoft/sony will allow crossprogression"

Sadly non discolosure agreement with Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo can be very strict and sometimes dev can say "it's ok" only when it's 100% ok.

And in the case of Dead by daylight they're many things to check :

    • Every rights owner for licensed DLC must be OK ( a player who bought the DLC on PS4 and on PC is more money for them ) and even if they're are OK you certainly had to edit the contract
    • Sony/Microsoft must be Ok and check if the previous step is OK too

Yeah Mircrosoft/Sony allow crossplay/progression more easily than before but this is not systematic and of course they only look game by game what it's more profitable for them in terms of income.

( And yeah i hope too that the crossprogession will come to all platform one day, i started the game on PC via Xbox Game Pass, i plan to go to Steam version because it's my only way to cross-save with Switch which actually mean lose everything )

I guess that's true, although they've announced it multiple times that Switch is getting it so as far as switch at a minimum I don't think Nintendo is the problem here.

Honestly, seems like it was rushed out the door for Stadia since they seem to have some kind of deal on it. Free on there or something, not really sure. But I don't get why consoles haven't gotten it. Microsoft have even confirmed it isn't down to them, but the Devs of the game in question. They just have to 'flick a switch' according to them. And most games do Cross-Progression these days, so it just feels like they're stalling on it now.

If only the devs knew how to communicate. Right now it almost feels like they're just fighting the community on releasing it more so than Google/Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft/Steam.

either way I feel that if your playing swf and you all mix of ranks you all need to face a killer who that same rank as your highest survivor in group how I feel.

That's honestly understandable. I feel it should be averaged, but depending on the ranks that might not be as good an idea as yours.

Skill check success zones are actually smaller, not only that but the action speed increase is minimal, a killer could be looking at you for a whole gen's worth of time and less than 5 seconds would be saved overall.

My bad, thank you for correcting me about the skill checks.

What I've gotten real tired of is seeing a SWF padding the MMR; high rank survivors with one smurf account to queue with low rank killers. I don't think they realize just how discouraging that is for new killers. It's been rampant lately.

MMR is not active, they took it out not long after activating it. Also, how do you know it's a smurf account and not just an account of a higher rank's friend who just started playing? I have friends who don't play often but we play together. They're all grey ranks because of how often they play, but it's not like I'm doing it to smurf, I just want to play with friends. (I'm using that just as an example)

I agree. While I appreciate the thought that went into the backstory, they do appear to be mother and child in every other capacity- after all, they do say the child is an extension of the mother. I imagine it was just a 'wait, this might not go down well' moment and they changed them to brother and sister. That being said, I still do believe that Victor is a child. I could be wrong here, but I don't believe it's mentioned how long ago Victor died prior to being claimed by the entity, and Charlotte doesn't have an overly aged face so I wouldn't put her at too high an age for it to be unreasonable. Also, given the disability he was born with, it's also not unreasonable to assume that the child-like state is applied mentally not just physically.

Based off the backstory it sounds like Victor died prior to both his and Charlotte's teen years, but I could be wrong.

  • It's to risky putting any sort of religious figure into the game. (Plague being a priestess is different though just because it was for an ancient belief system that doesn't exist and probably never existed)

  • I'm not good at looping so for me it's D-Strike for survivor and for killer it changes a lot. I'd have to say Dying Light though. As soon as killers get it it goes on their build.

  • I've played both sides and have to say that I feel like both sides are overdramatic when they talk about how "sided" the game is. The game itself is fairly balanced however both sides do have some major problems to them that makes those who main one side specifically say that the game is "killer sided" (if survivor main) or "survivor sided" (if killer main). If I had to say which I think it's more "sided", I'd have to say it's more survivor sided at the moment. Exceptions go to Freddy and Leatherface players along with God Nurses. Obviously survivors complain about hitboxes and a lot of that has merit to it, however a lot of it is dedicated servers being dedicated to sucking at their job.

PS I'm aware that's not it, OP just ranted about some other things, that's just an example of something survivor mains wine about.

  • As someone who loves to play stealth killers when playing killer, I can say I hate when survivor's use Spine Chill. It gives too much information about the killers whereabouts and when they're heading towards you, not to mention it literally speeds up everything (including vaulting) and skill check success zones are larger making them easier to hit. It kinda needs to be checked for multiple reason.

  • On Nintendo Switch the game is $40 (with more unlocked right away but still pricy) so for me seeing the Trapper's Krampus skin is only $15 doesn't feel as much. Although it is kinda nasty that on most platforms it's almost as much as the game.

You think this is bad then you should have seen 2016 back then you wouldn’t get a perk until you were level 5 and you had to get to level 25 to get all 4 perk slots and the characters teachable perks weren’t unlocked at the start and there was no entity to consume the web so it was much worse

Is it true that the max amount of bloodpoints you could get in every category used to be 5000 so you could only max at 20000 a game instead of 32000?

  • @Exerath1992 said:

And they say killers complain about everything... Everything except the ghost face reveal mechanic is fine, and how do you "exploit" the reveal mechanic? It just sorta happens.

Because survivor mains will say anything to make something that has to deal with dedicated servers being awful again into some sort of killer exploit. (I'm saying this as someone who plays both sides often). It's happened just as many times where (as Ghost Face) I've been revealed when the person was far out of LoS and should not have seen me and vice versa where I revealed a Ghost Face when I couldn't even see him and wasn't in my LoS.

Tunneling can be very effective (too effective against your average survivor), but it's still a kindergarten tactic.

It also encourages more use of getting real good at looping, joining an SWF, DS, BT and other perks or methods that many killers find distasteful.

Honestly a large part of WHY DS and BT are so popular is because of the amount of tunneling. They wouldn't be a problem (or on the devs radar right now) if there wasn't so much tunneling. I only tunnel if survivors get unlucky or I know that the others are better at looping (although it's very rare among the times I tunnel that all 3 are better at looping). I'll also tunnel if I recognize a survivor, can beat them easily in a chase, and know they have DS while I have Dying Light so thing are easier later on. Then I just leave them alone after they hit ds.

Coincidentally, her and Demo are also up for add-on reworks....

I'm not sure if Pig is also up for one (Helmet Exhaustion Add-On).

Doubt it's because of those add-ons. I bet they'd lower the timers if they decided to keep exhaustion add-ons though. Then again, after making Mindbreaker better, they probably will remove them all together.

First off thank you! Hope your holidays are joy filled too!

Now to answer your post, it seems to be very mixed, Some people will just let they're allies die to get out, others will do all they can to save they're allies. Especially when the match is a loss anyways.

Honestly people act cocky even when they're losing. They see it as an intimidation tactic. That's why you see many players Tbagging and flash light clicking in the early game, they're hoping you get mad and make a mistake

But in the case of her...looks more like a sad attempt to blow her win out of proportion, Despite hatch being COMPLETELY hit or miss

Ps what map were you on? I had a Freddy that killed me early and a teammate sat in a Bush for 2 minutes untill I died, I'm use to it as a solo q player, so I didn't get too annoyed. If it was you then good game

    The map was Wreckers' Yard.

I play on Nintendo Switch with crossplay off, so unless that's all correct than it wasn't me.

  • Has anyone tried facing Leatherface on console? He might be fine on pc, but on console he went from strong to almost always a hatch game.

  • The only thing I disagree with is if the killer kept up so much pressure that they kept 5 generators and a survivor can escape. 4? Fine whatever, but it should never appear if there are 5 generators left. I guess for bloodpoints and keeping survivors engaged is why they do that, but it doesn't feel fair to the killer who did a good job. If the killer does such a good job that there are 5 generators left when it's down to 1 survivor they deserve the 4k (probably why there are so many who slug with 5 gens left when down to 2 survivors). I get it's a rare-ish occurrence for there to still be 5 generators left by the end of the game, that's why I'm not suggesting it to completely revert back to how it used to be. Especially seeing how the killer can close the hatch and trigger endgame collapse.

  • 100% it's Blight. (Not to mention survivors also love Blight so it kinda feels like a win win even if it's a 4k)

  • It's not fair matchmaking and that sucks for your first game in a public match as Pyramid Head. I personally think Pyramid Head is a great killer, you were just a victim of matchmaking.

  • I think they're avoiding doing that because they know people won't use it just for that, many will use it to just be toxic to the killers.

They weren't but the amount of killers that ######### about things vs survivors is way higher imo.

Take mori's for example, they used to be an insta kill back in the day. Now that they got nerfed all I see is complaining over and over.

I play both killer and survivor and there are things I agree with on both sides. I think there is a problem though that within the last yet almost everything that has been nerfed has to deal with killers. In that sense the game is becoming a little more survivor sided which with the game being asymmetrical with 4 survivors and 1 killer that should never be the case. However, I think people forget that after a massive amount of killer nerfs, they end up stopping and then survivors get nerfed into the ground next. I think that cycle of survivor nerfs is going to start with the keys. I also disagree with you saying that killers ######### more than survivors. The only thing I've been hearing killers cry about is Decisive Strike and maybe get some minor buffs to certain killers. Although I hear a parades worth of different complaints from survivor mains.

  • It depends, do you want to stay busy in the game for a long time? Then go for it. Otherwise, if you're just looking for fun or a bit of competition without any sort of grinding then no.

  • I've had the game forget what ritual it gave me earlier and give me a new one, but I've never had it not give me a new ritual when rituals respawn.

To be honest, you were Freddy so there is a LITTLE part of me that can see not charging into the basement against a Killer that just took down three people into the basement through either great gameplay or cheesy gameplay that also has traps to alert him to come running (or teleport) back to take us all down again anyways.

There are those Survivors though. I had 3 matches of late where I get them down to 2 players and someone decides to hide it out. One match both of them hid which turned into a super long match of searching the swamp for two people hiding in corners. The other two matches had one hide and the other attempt gens. I didn't want to kill the one actually trying though so ended up letting them do the last gen or two cause I actually respected they were willing to risk it while the other just crouched in corners.

Fair, but I should also add I saw this Cheryl at one point and left her alone for no good reason and she threw down a fake pallet so she knew she didn't have to worry about snares. Also the other 3 were fairly low rank so it definitely was not because a good gameplay.

  • I would love to see bloodhunts again. It's sad that the archives in a way just replaced them.

  • Ace because all his are luck based and you generally don't get that lucky.

  • It's sad that the dev team for dbd mobile seems to care more about their community than core dbd. Mostly because it's smaller than core dbd.

  • Everyone for me is at least Prestige 1. The only ones not Prestige 1 are Quentin (P2), David (P3), and Felix (P3)

  • Nemesis and Furtive are good together. When Furtive Chase switches the obsession, Nemesis activates and you can see where your obsession went.

Bbq, nurses calling, undying, thrill of the hunt, discordance, iron maiden, deathbound, bitter murmur, territorial imperative, all ears, hoarder, surveillance, etc

Imagine using Thrill of the Hunt as an example for a perk that's good for locating survivors.

  • I'm pretty sure there's nothing tied to the lore about the graphical updates. I think the developers just wanted to make the maps look better. It's an interesting idea though.

  • I haven't heard anything about midchapter except speculation on what MIGHT release based off of things devs had said will come eventually. My hope is the key nerf, ds changes, hopefully Dead Hard is done being made for dedicated servers. Other than that I have no hopes for midchapter. The last few have been pretty stale. I mean... Ch 15 midchapter was map reworks, Ch 16 was the Billy and Bubba changes that nerfed Billy and buffed Bubba that weren't all that amazing, and Ch 17 was... what even was it ider other than MacMillan update.

  • When crossprogression releases my plan is to do the harder ones first because I'll be lower rank. Once I'm a bit higher up I can focus on the killers I'm good at no matter what I bring and do their adepts.

  • It would get boring after a while but if the idea is to rework older killers I wouldn't mind.

  • I thought of a hex perk a while back. It would be very annoying, but was inspired by Hex: Haunted Ground

Survivors can cleanse totems faster, however as a result you become injured upon cleansing a dull totem. If a survivor is already injured, they do not go into the dying state. Cleansing the hex totem injures all survivors and gives the deep wound status effect. This effect can only be done once per match.

I don't think it would ever be implemented into the game, I just thought it would be interesting to share.

  • @Azgard12 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/172693/your-perk-ideas

That's in some ways what Empathy does (at least after they get hit).

Anyhow, here's my top ideas for Survivors:

-Information delay perks: delaying showing when a gen pops, delaying showing an unhook, etc. Could do a lot with this.

-A perk that slows down progression on a hook if the killer is camping (not Camraderie).

-A perk that allows exhaustion to still slowly go away while running.

-A perk, perhaps token based, that allows a short duration of a cloak effect like Wraith.

    Some idea for Killer perks:

-A perk that will reignite a hex totem at a different dull totem under specific conditions (for example, when the next gen gets done).

-A perk that allows the killer to break a completed gen ONCE (not endgame), causing it to regress. This could be OP, so perhaps conditions.

-A perk that speeds up gen regression on kicked gens, but not as a hex totem.

-A perk similar to Cheryl's, that calls upon the entity to block off a gen for a duration.

I like your second killer idea, although I feel they'd make it a hex and still set a condition.

  • It would be interesting and it could encourage survivors to try. However, I can see this being very buggy and taking a long time before it's not bugged so I doubt it would happen.

  • I like a challenge so I generally prestige without saving up any points. Adds a bit more to a match when I know I'm only using one tier 1 perk without any add-ons and no offerings in the Red Ranks. Sometimes (like with Freddy) it's hilarious to watch survivors lose so badly when only using one perk.

it can be either because of two facts:

-Your internet isn't as fast as the rest of players

-You take longer to load because of your console software or much data usage in the hard disk

also, how do you know they're from PC and not ps4, xbox or switch? they might load faster than you too

Switch is the slowest console, definitely not Switch. I can guarantee almost every single switch players has crossplay off.

  • That's true too, I was thinking when posting that more of like Devour Hope but you've got a point.

  • I think it would be cool if it were free, but again I have to agree about the hackers thing. No thank you.

  • My only problem with this is killer side objectives are either not needed to be good or a large pain while survivors don't generally do side objectives (from my understanding) unless they see the killer has a hex or they need a medkit to heal and don't have one. (because the others are slugged or somethin)

  • Seeing the comments now I realize that my post is actually incredibly hilarious to read.

I'm more so complaining about the other 3 than Self-Care

  • After all that time it took to get them out of being the weakest killer in the game you want to nerf The Twins? No.

  • Tony Todd has been following them for a while, I think the first I heard about this was in May for the speculation of Chapter 16. This isn't exactly news but it doesn't necessarily mean that Candyman isn't coming seeing how long it probably takes them to go from chapter concepts to being able to release a ptb. I'm personally not a fan of the idea, but it would still be interesting to see.
