  • Yeah, that just sounds like good players still win but only if they get lucky enough to have a team of other good players so it's not an accurate reflection of skill or ability.
  • The thing I hate is they flat buffed her without fixing her turtle style game play. There's nothing more frustrating than watching the game slow to a crawl because two idiots don't know how to crouch and you and the last survivor are ready to stick it out for 30 minutes for the hatch escape. She's just downright boring to play against if you don't fight the right hag.

Anyone know if the Sloppy Butcher Mangled would affect Doctors Snap Out of It as well? Since there seems to be some confusion on what does/doesn't affect healing stuff with the Doc. Like they mentioned Coulrophobia not affecting Snap Out of It but then Botany Knowledge and Nurse's Calling still work for it.

Given the recent differences between botany knowledge and caulrophobia, I imagine the only way to know will be to wait and find out. However, they will hopefully standardize it so there will be less confusion.

If we're talking about exhausting, examine crouch walking. I never realized how unrealistic this was until I went caving at had to do it myself. You can barely travel feet like that, much less go all urban evasion and travel at a walking pace.

I think that is a very valid point actually, crouch walking for long periods of time is difficult !! maybe add another debuff like Tiredness instead of exhaustion,

And while we're at it, survivors will eventually develop diseases like tetanus, or AIDS from rust and blood transmission. And killers vision will blur over time from concussions. And bleed out starts and never stops from the first hit until you're dead or healed. And you have to have a toolbox to fix generators, and a medkit to heal. Also Freddy shouldn't exist, wraith shouldn't be able to go invisible, the doctor shouldn't transmit electricity through dust particles in the air, hag shouldn't teleport, nurse shouldn't teleport, huntress should be Nordic instead of Russian, survivors clothes should be falling off from 2 years of abuse and straight out destruction, survivors should be covered in scars, and there should be mini games at the campfire of eating, sleeping, recovering from wounds, and socializing! Did I miss anything? XD

Now im starting to think you aren't taking this serious!

I mean srsly, with the potential SB perk change, maybe they go a bit further - their reason for changing SB is saying well, you cant recover from exhaustion whilst your running.

I am being a little facetious, but the point I'm trying to make is that making changes based on realism is seldom a good idea. Teabagging is very annoying, but the best thing you can do is try to keep a positive attitude and at the very least just have the mindset that as soon as this game ends you can get into a new one. Trying to keep people from crouching repeatedly is a little bit of a lost cause.

Doubt it will be ever happening for 1 reason :
They actually nerfed Thrill of the hunt back then "because it was too strong and made totems too long to clean".

    Yeah.
    Obliviousness, once again.
Not to mention, these were the old totem placements when the nerf occured:
    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=816349004

They need to bring back the spawns that were inside obstacles so there's a chance the totem will be uncleansable, like the opposite of the totem spawns that are literally sitting in the open with nothing surrounding them. It's balanced because of RNG right!?!
  • I don't believe you'll be able to turn. The way they're wording it made it appear to me like it treats the stun EXACTLY the same as it was before, you just don't drop the survivor. If you get flashlighted in that time naturally you would drop them.

Iron grasp and Fire up top tier perks, kek.

iron grasp limits greatly one's ability to escape which is already a small chance , fire up insures faster vaulting.  not necessarily weak sauce.
Iron grasp adds two seconds to carrying time. Fire up literally makes a neglible difference. Like less than a second.

As far as the "other details" if you cant dodge 3 hatchets you're probably the type of survivor who would go down quickly anyways, no iridescent head needed.

Sloppy butcher will be decent against people using self-care extensively to make them overly safe.
Which is a good change overall because it will make SC to be costy to these players, rather than a free way to safety.

The change to selfcare + all the ways to make it more difficult to heal with it is going to be a indirect buff to Thanataphobia aswell. Harder and longer to heal will mean people injured more often or not healing at all which if thats the case Thanataphobia will be doing some good work.

Thana will still suck. Numbers are just too low to be worth it in any case.
At least in my opinion, it will never be worth a perk slot. You'd better get something to actually help you snowballing than an unsignificant debuff.

Oh for sure it will still be ass but for meme builds that focus on no healing it will still be fun.

My thoughts on thana as well. Lmao.
  • I think the green one is pretty balanced and a fun occurrence every now and then. The ebony mori is balanced like every single ultra rare add-on or offering is... balanced in rarity and not in game play. Whether or not that's healthy is out of my means to say, but that's the way it is.
  • I could almost not believe you complained about iron grasp and fire up and then I remembered these are the dbd forums.
  • I play stealth all the time. Of course, I think there's a HUGE difference between crouch walking everywhere and hiding in a locker at the first sign of the heartbeat, and managing to lose a killer during a chase, or managing to to avoid them by circling the object they're looking behind. You can be stealthy and take risks. In fact, I go a step further, I play stealth without the darkest, bloody outfits. Not only is it possible, but it's fun! And like everything in life, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and that's fine. But I think it's a much better way to play than abusing all the cructches in the game until you finally get camped to death.
  • What are thee changes?

When a generator reaches 90% progression you receive a notification and your TR drops to 0 for 8 seconds.

@OP I like the changes. Even if it doesn't fit in perfectly, it will allow more buffs to add-ons, so I think it's an okay sacrifice.

I just liked the consistent 32 meters more.
Now they're turning a strategic perk into a finding perk, which is weird.

Tho I suppose it will make casuals Happy, as they do not like perks that are not super straightforward.

exactly my point thats the issue. at least at 32 meters i could track the whole area till i find them. now its every 8 meters yeah more time consuming and a chore. if they do make the perk like this people will realise this is a nerf and probably not like it. more than likely hate it lol ..... butchering the perk pretty good job so far

My main issue about this change is pretty simple : they are changing a perk that is already good and balanced, while more than half of the perks could use a rework.

I disagree, I think the flange is very necessary and good. Why? Because they're changing the endgame to go with it.

The reason they kept whispers in its state was because end game was SO broken. The thing is they're changing the endgame. It's the same reasoning for the changes to tinkerer, or brutal strength. By slightly reducing the effectivity of the perk, they can make it so it's bearable to play without it in the first place. BS is less effective than it was, yes, but now you don't have to run it. It's still useful, it is and was a good perk, and maybe it didn't need a rework at the time, but the change was a huge QOL difference for killers in general.

With the tinkerer change add-ons will simply be faster as a base effect. They couldn't do this before because tinkerer would be totally broken. Similarly, whispers will be less effective, but it will no longer be a necessity to have a remotely enjoyable end game either with the changes that are being made. Totally needed the rework and will help open up end game possibilities imo.
  • I'm not sure why you're even making this thread and exacerbating the problem. People like new fun updates, whenever they have to wait, regardless of platform, they feel anxious and irritated. Stop furthering the divide between platforms by continuing to create threads essentially shaming PC players for feeling like you do a while back when you felt like PC players in the same circumstance. No matter who it is or what console they play, it's just being excited for the new update.
  • Besides the new stuttering, a little bit extra basic optimization to help the game run smoother in general would be particularly nice, especially on certain maps.
  • And if the offering worked it'd defeat the purpose of the perk. One has to trump the other.
  • Have it open the hatch but only for the survivor with the key. So 30 seconds > 5 seconds > 1 second.
  • I can't wait for the change. Gonna set my traps and then never have to worry about it. It's not even like they can keep them from rearming by sabotage because hangman's trick will make them recover in ten seconds. It's like permanently closing off certain spots on the map.
  • This is why the devs had to get rid of the report system.
  • I really like it. I'll probably run dark sense over it but it's going to be a very interesting perk, especially with the glass bead? Add on.
  • I've already said this many times, I sincerely believe they left a zero off the end of the emblem bonus values.

The only problem with SC is if you stop self-healing to let someone else heal you and it reverts to 0. There should be a bit of a time delay before the healing resets. Self-Heal, stop, and then 3 seconds or something for someone else to start healing you again. If you start healing yourself again within that time then the healing starts all over as well.

    This.

The easy solution is make it so that a second survivor heals take priority over a self care heal. So if someone is self caring they can just start healing them instead of the self care. It'd help with the point hogs who refuse to let anyone else help them for a measly 300 BP too.

waste of a perk slot, needs buff

I just can't understand people who would rather complain about changes instead of running a perk that fixes it. Either the mechanic is severe enough that you run something to mitigate it, or the fix is a waste and you shrug it off. Although it could use a buff.
  • Bitter murmur is getting a huge buff in the midchapter patch so it let's you see their aura every time a gen is completed and when the gates are powered. Distressing is for doc and BP farmers.
  • If it ain't Dwight it ain't right.  8-)
  • Yes, it just means if you prestiged a character you don't start with no perks, you get their three teachable on level one for that character right off the bat. Teachables still function exactly the same.
  • They've just been broken for so, so, long though. I agree with the chase segment, but keep them the way they are? No
  • You havent played very much killer if you think they get spoon fed 4ks.

But I will agree that that Billy is overreacting way too much.
  • 42 hours isn't a lot of time to experience all the content that dbd has to offer. But if it's not enjoyable there's probably not much point in playing the game long enough to experience it all.
  • Agreed, the new color scheme is great, but unfortunately the font color did not change to reflect this.
  • I hate to burst your bubble, but if crows are forgotten enough that they don't even function properly as a game mechanic, I highly doubt that that a mori or even killer would be made concerning them.

    It would be neat though
  • Whenever console gets their update

Name some that you hear in the aftergame chat frequently? Like, not in a way that they should or should not do this. Because most of the time when I hear killers complain it's not some made up rule but instead the state of the game or things within the game that could mechanically be changed, not some code of honor survivors are supposed to adhere to.

Multiple people freak the hell out on me for doing simple things like dissembling their totems. It isn't, 'the game has bad totem placement' it's 'you ######### you took down my totems, I hope your family gets murdered.' Like, yeah, sorry? I searched for them & I took them down because that's part of the game.

People complain habitually about people using perks that they don't like, and say that they're personally scummy pieces of garbage for using perks. Or juking. Or being good at playing stealthy. etc etc etc. I very rarely see people in-game complain about the game mechanics and usually it's a direct attack & a suggestion that players are bad people for using tools given to them.

Hence why I say, both sides do it.

    @Zanfer said:
still that example has no ground under it cause it is an exploit. He wasn't talking about exploits....

Y'all need a lesson in empathy, apparently.

Once again, they're not saying you SHOULDN'T break their totems AFAIK. They're mad at a faulty system which put them at a disadvantage because totem spawns are sucky. They're upset their totem got taken out, not that you didn't abide by their rules. GAME fault vs. HUMAN fault. If they simply fixed the totem spawn issue, the number of complaints would reasonably drop. I'm not talking about someone making a complaint about something you did, that's not what the thread is about. People want and need to vent. I'm talking about the first three words in the title of this thread, "reported for camping." I have, only once or twice in thousands of hours, had a killer attempt to report me for something they thought was bannable. And in all instances, it wasn't even their fault, they're were >100 hour noobs. They just didn't know. They aren't trying to force me to play a certain way under thread of bans. There's a huge difference between complaining about a game mechanic that is broken, and legitimately trying to FORCE a player to play a certain way to make you happy. It's the difference from fix the game so the experience is more fair and abide by my rules or you will be punished.

I have all the empathy in the world for people who didn't like the game went. I have no empathy for people who try to fear monger or threaten in order to try and secure THEMSELVES (not empathetic) a better experience.

you really are an R-word. you are missing the point. my suggestion is to make the game more fire and realistic. BY ADDING SOCK SOUNDS!! WHILE I HEAR A SHOE SOUND WHILE IM WEARING A COSMETIC WITH A SOCK!!!!

Or just wear shoes and have shoe sounds. #########.

I think the overarching issue is that survivors have rules concerning their enjoyment every game that don't necessarily fully encompass or account for the people on the other team that also want varying measures of success and satisfaction which cannot be achieved under the pre-established notion that certain stages are ruled out as unfair, despite them being the only objectively reasonable way to win a game.

Yeah, that makes sense & I get that, because that's exactly what the other side is saying. Like, you can 100% flip that back on the OP:

    • Killers have rules concerning their enjoyment that doesn't fully encompass or account for the people on the other team that also want varying measures of success and satisfaction that cannot be achieved, etc, etc, etc.

    In other words:

Name some that you hear in the aftergame chat frequently? Like, not in a way that they should or should not do this. No, I don't know that feeling, because I don't give a ######### about amassing points. I care about killing survivors. Even so, if you take away the offering aspect your argument becomes nonexistent.

So, you care about killing survivors because playing the game & completing objectives is fun to you, right?

Now think about what it'd be like if a survivor trapped you in Lery's corner or in a bugged pallet and everyone else kept playing the game & you weren't able to. You'd say that survivor was ruining your fun, because it keeps you from being able to participate.

Before you complain that trapping the killer is using an exploit: that's not what I'm saying. I'm giving you a walk-through on the concept of empathy.

Also AFAIK you get shards based on the highest quality and not the total points. So if I get one iridescent I get +18, which is the same as if I got 4 iridescent. Still +18 because either way iridescent was my highest quality.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.
