  • I am supposed to camp people and NOT use NOED to flow throughout the match and tie up lose ends when the gates are powered.

    That one was interesting.

@Cetren How can they be salty if they survive?
I don't care about "playing nice" or not, I play the way I like playing, and I love switching targets and hit everyone when they don't expect it at all.
What I don't get is that they don't seem to understand that there's someone like them behind the screen, I'm not a killer IRL so what's the point of insulting?

Because they have big egos and want attention. Like I said, for kicks and giggles.

I think it was to distinguish the ultra rare add-ons better. Two perks are guaranteed to show up in each bloodweb, so after a point you get guaranteed higher and higher rarity because the low rarity ones are out of the pool. And if each bloodweb has a certain rarity distribution, that'd mean once you get to a point where you have ONLY ultra rare perks left to get you might not get any ultra rare add-ons, because the perks eat up that ultra rarity value. And considering this would be a point where the character should be getting better loot anyway, you are just trading better quality loot for the... appearance that a perk is ultra rare (when it's not, it's more a matter of time than anything).

    That sort of makes since.

No, it doesn't and it is not the reason. I linked you the reason why ultra rare Perks are gone.

Why is it that so many like you just outright ignore it and instead prefer some bogus made-up answer?

    My thoughts exactly. Smh.
  • Dude, you're not getting any favors by playing nice. You're going to run into those people and they'll be salty no matter what you do or don't do. The best thing you can do is ignore them and don't give them any more attention than they already get. Let them go stroke their own egos in an empty after game chat. Maybe their moms will be proud when the screen shot the host disconnected message
  • I really liked Quentin, and I maimed him from his release to 2.0, but then the cosmetic shop got released.

I can't imagine I'm the only one switching characters now that you can't get any of the coold cosmetics on the licensed characters.

Now I just play Dwight. He was my orginal main, but now I've gone back to him. He was my first maxed survivor, so now I'm working on getting all the new perks on him and remaxing him. Dwight life!
  • I think it's better than the old systems. Although I will say that double pipping is still pretty common. I like it much better than the old system though.
  • It's due to the precious bugged system that caused ultra rares to ALWAYS be the first perks to show up. Like literally, you could not get a perk quality below ultra rare until you got EVERY ultra rare perk. Then very rares were the only things to show up and you could not get any rares until you bought all of those, so on and so forth. So they cut out the uncommon and ultra rare rarities for perks fixed it so that it would be up to chance and now we have the system we do today.
  • You preorder through steam.
  • The problem is, if you didn't get any kills, you didn't do amazingly good. It sucks sometimes, but that's just the truth of it. Game play wise, lore wise, common sense, whatever. The goal is to sacrifice. The first few hooks are good, but killing them is the end goal. If you had killed them then;

    A. You're gatekeeper would be better because less survivor means slower gen progression.

    B. Malicious score would be higher, because hook points don't go away, max brutality and deviousness will do nothing for you here, kills will.

    C. Devout would obviously be higher. You need kills for devout.

And D. More chases usually means that you're finding and losing survivors frequently, which is great for their evaded score, but will reflect poorly on your chaser score.

So yeah, not surprised one bit you depipped. It's like playing survivor and only getting altruism/boldness and not doing any gens. Like its great if you max both of those, but your goal is to escape, if you don't do that, your chances of pipping drop like a rock.
  • I'll say this: I've never had a Killer come to my profile and tell me to kill myself, but thousands of survivors have done so. Some even stalk my profile for days and days to continue their insults, and get their friends who i don't know and have never played with to do the same. One even posted a picture of my kid and the address of his school online, spammed my cell phone with really nasty racist texts, and more besides. Survivor mains are entitled and feel invincible, and this is proof.

This is kind of my deal here.

Have I met killers that are a little upset with the circumstance of their game? Yeah.

Have I met killers that go out of their way to make me feel miserable or humiliated while doing and saying things that are completely disrespectful and sometimes borderline illegal? No. Not a single one in thousands of hours.

To say that both sides are equally salty is a joke to all the people that put up with survivors.

they still get no points for survivor being rehooked within 10 seconds.  i am more mystified as to why anyone stays in a game like that.  no thanx.

"be ready to escape"?  have you even played this before?
i dont care if they get rehooked. i got my wglf token. they should have escaped. i did.

also i have 1700+ hours and im usually rank1 both sides. git gud and stop whining.

  • Eh, I feel like while it is a pretty neat idea it's already really difficult to find certain add-ons and offerings, making them take up a very rare slot would really water that down. Plus on survivor for instance it can be difficult to find the right add-ons for the item you want AND the way you want to use it. Maybe make it so that some items have attached shards? So like a small chance that each item will come with 5-10 shards based on item rarity indicated by a shard symbol on it.
  • They mean the way it was. You got 50% more points for each stack. So you got 200% more points in the altruistic category which could be a total of +16k

But the way it is now, you receive 100% more points with 4 stacks in each category. which means ~10k for each category. That is nearly the same or even more, depends on how much you do of everything. In my opinion it is even better in all categorys than just the altruistic. Correct me if i am wrong, but if i remember it correctly it was just for one (altruistic) category back then

Not quite, it was 200% for all categories, and it was so strong that there were matchmaking problems because people stopped playing killer altogether for rhe ridiculous number of BP that it could grant in one game, which is why it was nerfed.

Which is why I like it exactly the way it is now. You get some free BP for a slot you really don't need. It makes me BP gain on survivor similar to killer in most games. It's just nice QOL. Doesnt need anything more imo.
  • There's a pretty big difference between console and PC players. Console gets a really bad rep for just not measuring up to the average PC player. The difference is painstakingly obvious even at high ranks.
  • I don't know why everyone is talking about "bringing it back" I still use it all the time. Doesn't really need a buff, it's perfect where it is right now.

You already get 500 from a trap death. The trap set at 500 is good imo, because it's literally just downing someone and holding M2 for a few seconds. 800 for that is a little too rewarding. Trap timer sounds good though.

    fixed

What if it was something in between like 650-750?

If anyone needs some BP love it'd be the clown.

They both need it. No reason to let either one of them suffer.
Nurse and Huntress were the same way when they first game out until they got bp buffed. ❤️️

    650 is better.

And yeah, they really could both use it.

Dance With Me is a fine perk, my only problem with it is its synergy with Lithe.

    Why's that a problem?
Because 40% of the time, even while in a chase, Lithe doesn't want to activate for me when I fast vault a window or pallet. Sometimes I swear it's bugged to where the killer needs LoS of you while in a chase to activate it or something. Which, if true, is a bit counter-intuitive since I use this/these perks to lose the killer and actively avoid LoS for that reason. Because of that, I hesitate running Lithe and also Dance. Might try with Quick and Quiet sometime instead though.

Chases end pretty quickly without LOS. You don't need it, but you can't be out of their sight for more than a few seconds before the chase ends, which will prevent you from using lithe.
  • Change your build? Theres plenty of fun builds to run as survivor. Try some of these;

Lithe, Dance with me, Lightweight, pharmacy.

No mither, urban evasion, dead hard, resilience.

    Vigil, Streetwise, Leader, Bond.

    Wake up, Hope, Technician, (any).

These are just off the top of my head. Alternatively, you could try using perk wheels, those are pretty fun too.

Plenty if things you can do to vary game play.
  • Earlier today. Slippery meat isn't all that bad.

  • It's great as it is imo. Use it every now and then in my no mither build, great perk! :)
  • If they don't give then their ID to claim the auric cells I imagine they redraw.
  • Nope. Use em or lose em.
  • You should already know where the killer is when he hooks somebody, you can see the aura of your hooked teammates. Beyond that it's just pathing. These are basic survivor skills man, really basic.
  • I have also had this problem, which is strange considering there's nothing noteworthy on this map.
  • Distressing, caulrophobia, unnerving presence, and overwhelming presence is a really fun build imo. Combine with increased effect of static field or TR add-ons.
  • Guys, the pig has the exact same lunge as Trapper, Wraith, LF, MM tier 2, Freddy, Clown, and the Hillbilly. Because they are not the same SIZE however, their character model appears to "reach" farther than the others, because their smaller model has to travel the same distance as a larger killer, making it appear longer. In fact, the Freddy skeleton has to extend on his lunge just to give him the regular lunge because he's so small. Game play wise it's exactly the same however. You getting lunged attacked is just the killer being good enough to land a basic lunge attack, nothing to do with the characters balance herself.

And she is, as a character, very balanced. Decent abilities, able to hold her own in a meta, and a threat in most cases so you can't just screw around with her.
  • I can't recall them changing anything to get rid of 360s.

Even then, it's a terrible strategy and hardly ever works. Just don't let the killer get that close to you in the first place and you'll find that you never need to 360 anyways.
  • As long as it's meaningful who cares? Like I totally understand that it's a thing they gotta do. The only time it ever really bugs me is when it's clearly just to grief you, like one game where I got caught in the first 30 seconds of the fame running no mither and got face camped to death.
  • I'm fairly sure they don't have their exclusive skin yet. The leather face DLC came with the beaten Dwight head for example, which I got despite having LF when he came out.

You don't depip when the killer leaves.

Are you sure about that since the system shows you left as well and if it's at game start the other survivors probably get flagged as leaving also. I don't think I've ever noticed a quitter bonus survivor side but do get one killer side.

Yep, I'm sure. Although you usually don't reach the part of the bar that's a safe pip, you can clearly see where it says 'rank progress: 0', meaning your rank doesn't change. The killer quitter bonus was added back when points determined pips, so the quitter bonus was used to make up the difference so you could actually get your points towards popping when they quit. Survivors should get the 5k escape points for their quitter bonus actually well.
  • You don't depip when the killer leaves.
  • Pharmacy because it's self care except ######### balanced.
  • I used to main Quentin as well, then the item shop came out and I can actually have a blue survivor. (Except they can't be Quentin.) So I now main Dwight. I would HIGHLY recommend playing a non licensed character, because they will very likely never have future cosmetics. Ace is a good main imo.
  • Seems like you're just changing things around without actually addressing any of the real issues. The dream transition interactions would be nice though.
  • The fact that making perks a hex speaks volumes about how balanced they are. Also these suggestions are terrible.
  • Too bad I already have it. ;(

Thank you for your generosity as always though!
  • You're not alone. My GPS drops noticeabley every time I get in a chase. Which, is kind of the most inconvenient time, but there's not much I can do about it.
  • I will repeat my opinion from a thread I made at the end of last year's anniversary event.

They SHOULD NOT have let so much stuff remain from the anniversary event, because it means LESS STUFF returning at the next anniversary. It would've been easy to drop off the anniversary offerings and a couple of the challenges and include them in next year's so that the anniversary keep some fun and exciting elements to them. That opinion clearly wasn't the one to influence them and they left all the stuff in, so of course they don't have anything new to give you, you still have all of the stuff they introduced for the anniversary last year.
  • As soon as the console update hits I believe. So relatively soon yes.
  • Time to play some Freddy games as soon as I get home!

I have 1,500 hours and rank one on both sides. Believe me, I've tried and succeeded against all kinds of players at rank 1.
  • Camping will never be removed and there are numerous strategies and perks to fight it. It's an issue of improving your platitude to win anyways.

I’ve had a reply. They are pc exclusives.

    Confirmed:

This is so disappointing. I believed them when they said there wouldn’t be any more exclusives. :(

I'm pretty sure they said that for dbd, which is why the new cosmetics are all available in the shop to everyone.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Either way, there's no real way to verify it without adding an exclusive system which I'm sure they want to avoid with dbd, so steam is the only viable way they could do it.
  • I usually get it when I swing, but I always figured it was related to the fact that I usually play on a craptop. I must be the easiest 1,500 hour killer to 360 ever
  • Dude, grow up. You're at the greater fault for DC'ing.
  • You can buy him from the shop so technically yeah he will be free if you save up the shards for him. You won't get him automatically though.
  • What in the world was on the last shrine that'd you even want anyways lmao.
  • 1. Not necessarily. It's not entirely uncommon that they stay alive the longest and are the best player and die because they're the last one alive.

    2. Even less true. You're not a team. If I can make it out at the end of the day I'd ditch you in a heartbeat. (Literally) And people do the same to me, which is completely understandable. That's just common sense, not garbage.
