  • The thing is no one is scared to be injured. Rush into Adrenaline, and boom. You're gucci. This entire meta has been about people not healing. Also, I've got buddies who can't play without OOO so they're losing their minds over this perk. Doesn't matter if you can see their auras, that's how they play, and now they can get a free extra hit? Oooh that's good.

I checked the leaks and this perk looks really balanced, you get a jail free card at the cost of a condition and a penalty afterwards. I don't see how anyone can make this perk sound even close to OP.

It's almost like being injured isn't scary, and trust me. People will figure out ways to make it strong. This perk as potential. With MoM assuming best possible scenario, you could eat quite a few hits.

Hit, Dead Hard, Hit, MoM, Hit, BT, DS.

  • It's because she's the worst killer in the game. Why use your power when you can down faster by M1ing? Puking just gives them an insta heal and is easily dodged. Both versions. "But if we get caught in the open." Then you would die to any other killer, don't play stupid, don't go down. Puking on objects does literally nothing. Broken isn't scary. She's super tall and telegraphs everything she does.

Good luck looping a 115% killer once she gets Spirit Fury and Bamboozle.

Cool, so a free hit every 3 pallets, not including windows, drops, exhaust, etc. Good old generic Spirit Fury M1, my flavorite.

    What power?

  • 1 more, go for it!

Yea, every one just jumps to me being mad about ranking, when I've been rank one for years. On a forum/game that constantly screams that ranking doesn't matter it's amazing that people think so many players care about their rank. I'm more thinking about derankers ruining the game for newer players.

If you read my comment I didnt imply you dont play survivor at all but stay mad thats fine

Ah yes, the generic, "Lul you mad" argument. You're really hitting the bases fam. Couple more and you'll have a homerun.

Honestly, that's not my fear. The way I play this system won't really hurt me. My biggest concern is deranking. Which on PTB made it insanely easy to do.

You're view on survivors is so pessimistic and banal that I just dont believe you play survivor enough lmao. I've seen you around and you honestly have so much hatred towards survivors it's hilarious to me.

Don't forget survivors got changes similar to this it's not just killers

Yup, don't play survivor. That's why I said "BOTH SIDES DIDN'T" like it. That's why I 100% the game. You caught me chief. :c

  • @Kagrenac said:

Salty killer main that kneejerks as usual

    @Bravo0413 said:

They tweaked the numbers a bit... give it a chance..

It's still going to help people derank easier, and punish people for defending a hook. I don't tunnel, I don't camp, even I can see these changes are literally more hand-holding. That's all it is. It's literally them smacking killers with a newspaper and telling them "BAD" repeatedly for doing their job.

I’m gonna stop you at where you say I’m bad at DBD cause you clearly play this game in imaginary land where you have all the time to find and break totems while someone else is getting chased and hooked, the other person trying to save and one person trying their best to work through Ruin. Yeah right.

The algorithm spawns you on Ruin 90% of the time. It's again, not hard to find and blow up. You're assuming they're not running the killer around, and that not a single person has seen a single totem the entire game. Also, Ruin is a meme, hit the great skill check, if you even get one. I've had gens give me 2 skillchecks before.

    Next argument.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

If they increase regression to something like 0.4 c/s (currently it is 0.25 c/s) and put a default -5% regression on the kick that alone would help killers a lot. The problem I face as killer often is that when survivors gang up on a gen there really is no stopping them. You are either forced to sit there for ages to watch it regress or you take a chase and the other get back on the gen. Also gen tapping to keep it running. Better regression penalties would give killer a more effective way to stop gens, and it would stop survivors from tapping in your face or risk losing more progress.

Adding a second objective is not a good idea for a few reasons. First, the game is difficult enough for new players, making them learn more things just makes it that much harder to learn the game. Second, people have this fantasy that it will fix all their problems when the reality is that survivors will just find a way to rush the second objective, resulting in a net gain of maybe 30 seconds. Third, this would punish survivors that don't gen rush even harder as now the only way to escape a good killer is gen rush AND second objective rush.

End game also needs to be adjusted, because as it stands if all 4 survivors make it to power the gates the game is pretty much over for the killer. The only option here is NOED which just rewards bad killers with undeserved kills most of the time and feels cheap on the survivor end. It's just a lame solution to the problem. Exit Gate progress should regress to the previous check point (ie. the red lights) when not being worked on, and maybe don't show them to survivors so they have to actually look for them (also Wake Up could be the perk that reveals Exit Gates when powered). I'd also say that maybe killer has the ability to damage the gate like they can damage a gen and just prevent it from being used for a short time, just because there's nothing killer can do to stop the gates from opening aside from Remember Me. However this is less of an issue if they were to adjust the regression for gens since it would be easier to control the earlier parts of the game for killers.

The game really doesn't need much to fix the big issues. Very simple things would go a long way.

I can agree with most of this. I never understood why it takes 2-3s to kick a gen, but a survivor can just walk up, tap, and suddenly it's working again. We need less band-aids and real fixes.

  • @Karl_Childers said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/369605#Comment_369605

Ok, so if YOU are the one ending the game in 3 minutes, why do only survivors need an additional objective?! Are we adding to killer as well to prolong games? Definitely should.

Not going to discuss nurse any further, because it’s ridiculous. Anyone with sense knows she’s OP, we just live with it.

Anyone with sense can deal with a Nurse, but sure. And yea I have bad games every once in awhile just like anyone else. Cuz survivors make stupid mistakes. Against a coordinated team that doesn't just run into me, or screw up, yea. I get rolled. Also, I'm one killer out of many. That's the problem with survivors. You get one crying cuz he had a bad game and suddenly here comes the killer nerfs. Can't have the gold children upset. :c

Back in the early days this whining from both sides was met with get good, and actual promise and chances of a real fix. Then they just started rolling out nerfs and band-aids refusing to fix the glaring issues this game still suffers from. My favorite part of playing killer is seeing a much needed QOL change, only to see nerfs tacked on cuz "Muh survivors fun." No where do they ever mention if it was fun for a killer.

  • Oh yea, MM is totally broken. They've been sneakily adding it in, and taking it back out. They said it was ready, but clearly it is no where near ready.

  • @Karl_Childers said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/369586#Comment_369586

Nurse is fine? Everyone who plays this game, who isn’t completely biased, knows Nurse is OP. It’s just become an accepted form of OP at this point, because it takes more time to become good. At this point people just live with it and really only complain when it’s something absurd like omega blink.

I also don’t think you should be making these snarky little remarks if your games are ending in 3 minutes. Maybe it’s you who needs to get better.

Who said the game ended cuz they did the gens? You two really like making super biased assumptions and talking a whole lot of trash for people who die to NOED. There's this neat little thing in the game called, "S T E A L T H". Nurse has horrible MS and tracking. Also, if you don't run in a straight line, keep doing the SAME pattern repeatedly, sit at at a pallet and bait her blink into a stun. You'd realize she's difficult, but not impossible. Then again I don't expect survivors to actually try to learn anything. After all the devs have been holding your hands the last two years.

  • @Speshul_Kitten said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/369590#Comment_369590

I’m bad cause it’s my fault the killer relies on a crutch perk, okay. It’s not like the killer did a terrible job or anything right? You’re defending a broken cause that ceases to provide any concrete evidence for the need to have a one shot perk as shallow as nOeD. I can only conclude you clearly are a nOeD crutch yourself you seem to deliberately provide bias examples of how it’s somehow a necessary mechanic which clearly is not, merely a “here’s a another try since you failed to do a killer’s job in this game” handed to you by the devs.

So what's DS then? You got downed so you get a free stun. Why's that ok? Since we're throwing around assumptions.

You have done nothing but put words in my mouth cuz you apparently are completely illiterate and don't want to admit you're just bad at DBD. DO THE TOTEMS. It's literally that simple. If you see NOED proc, get the hell out or break the totem and THEN attempt to save. I don't use NOED, and I unlike you I have 100% the game. The only time I've used it was during rough patches, learning a killer, or if I just don't have anything else. None of my killer loadouts have NOED.

However, as a survivor I don't get hit with NOED. Wanna know why? Cuz I ran Small Game for about about two weeks, and memorized what tiles they can spawn on, and I actively seek them out and count them. It's why when I play SWF and they ######### about me not doing gens, they quickly change their tune when they see NOED in the end-game screen that didn't affect them. Not to mention I can see their spawns as killer and remember them. See, if you actually played both sides you'd realize these things.

Keep making assumptions because you're making poor choices. I'm going to continue not getting hit with NOED. Not once did I say it wasn't a crutch, not once did I say it's a necessary perk. I've shown 0 bias, you just don't like hearing the truth.

  • @Speshul_Kitten said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/369584#Comment_369584

If NOED was built in, then yes you would be punished. (But since it’s a CRUTCH perk and you won’t admit it) It’s not true at all.

    ”only you can turn a 0k into a 4K” - Only nOeD can turn a 0k into a 4k, with that logic.

You won't admit you're bad at a video game, do you think your petty remarks bother me? You KNOW how to stop NOED. You KNOW games go insanely fast so it's not like you can't waste a bit of time to find totems and break them. YOU failed to stop NOED. YOU ran back in despite the game telling you, "Hey idiots, he has NOED. Gtfo."

  • @Karl_Childers said:

Totems are NOT a good secondary objective because they do not properly reward the survivors. A secondary objective should not be one where the only purpose is preventing a killer perk that may or may not exist. 600bp for each dull is crap. If they want this to be a legit objective, how about throwing a few K BP bonus to all survivors when all the totems in the game have been cleansed or something.Add a totem counter as well. It has to be an objective that on its own, is worthwhile.

You gave it a good shot OP, but unfortunately it seems impossible to discuss additional objectives if there are people here who actually think Nurse is balanced. I mean....WHAT?!? You are absolutely correct that Nurse and Billy would need a nerf (nurse much more obviously) if a mandatory secondary objective were ever added.

See, most killer mains agree that they'd need tweaks after the games didn't take 3 minutes to complete. Also, no more UI elements. You're literally asking for the game to basically play itself. Use your eyes, figure out totem spawns, use THE PERK MADE TO FIND TOTEMS. They are a good secondary objective, you all are just bad players. 600 BP, bumps up to 1000 for a hex, 3k+ if you pop all 5. In a category you're probably gonna get a good chunk of BP in if you get chased at all.

The only reward should be some Lightbringer for popping totems, and a bonus if you prevent NOED. That's it. You held M1 for 14s and got 600 BP. Oh my god, woe is you. Also Nurse is fine, the problem is you can't just mindlessly run loops and camp pallets against her so oh no, you actually have to think about how to lose her/avoid her. Gasp.

  • @Speshul_Kitten said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/369574#Comment_369574

You’re seeing it as survivors being punished for not doing totems. Where I’m seeing it as Killer gets rewarded for not doing their main objective. See what’s happening here?

Also, “just blow it up in the end-game” is easier said than done. Smart killers, especially at red ranks, will hook a survivor as close to nOeD as possible to prevent it from breaking, this relying on the crutch.

You are being punished. There are games and map tiles where a killer will simply lose, or not have a single person dead by the end-game. That's where NOED kicks in. Also, NOED doesn't always just spawn nearby, and hardly anyone runs Agi or IG so unlikely that they're gonna just risk the drop to sit near the totem. Also, if you go back in and die to NOED, that's on you. You are an idiot. Plain and simple.

Only you can turn a 0k into a 4k, and it's all your fault. Also, if we're talking crutches, let's talk exhaust perks, DS, Adren, etc.

  • @Speshul_Kitten said:

@Caretaker I have lost more games due to NOED than I’ve ever lost to DS. Not to say DS wasn’t overpowered, but game changing wise, NOED has always been much more of a pain. Simply because you cannot do anything once you’re on that hook and NOED is active except hope a random doesn’t farm you or at least has BT.

So, you didn't do totems. Randoms didn't do totems, and you got punished for not doing it? I don't see the problem here. Someone literally told you how to stop it, you didn't do it, your team didn't do it, and it's unfair cuz you didn't do it? Despite being clearly told how to prevent it and you can just blow it up end-game after it lights up?

  • @Coriander said:

They saw killers complain over and over about DS, which got changed, so they hope that their own voices will be heard and get something they don't like changed.

DS has been a problem for years, and the new iteration isn't much better. The devs cater to survivors hardcore, not sure what you're on about tbh.

    @The_Crusader said:

Make dull totems count towards lightbringer and have them make a notification like lit totems do and it would be much more tolerable.

Nobody wants to be that guy who spends the game running around for totems and gets nothing out of it.

Right there, just said this to a friend. Dull totems should give credit for Lightbringer. Bonus if your team prevents NOED.

Man, don't you love the way Legion literally gets punished for attempting to play in a skill-based manner? That's my favorite aspect about him, the fact that when Legion's in the game, the Survivors aren't the only ones who aren't allowed to try.

I just play as if I have double cd. Use power to get the first hit, switch targets if possible. If not, fatigue, chase to M1. I play Susie so she's short, and people forget they normalized lunges, so easy hits. That and I can body block at a pallet if I play it right, and if I want points I'll double stab someone if I have pressure/don't mind the extra sprint and can't find anyone else.

  • @No_Mither_No_Problem said:

My fave part of playing Billy is chainsawing someone around a tree, through a wall, over the river and through the woods.

You know, I agree with you when I play Survivor because I actually like the idea of trying. But that's also why I don't play Billy.

I play Legun, without addons so. I'm done with Billy now that he's maxed. Billy punishes hard, that's what he does. Sniping is pretty spicy though. Always feels so good.

  • @GrootDude said:

@Caretaker early on in the event people wanted them, but later when they had their vials it was back to gens only.

Me and my buddies, swapping over from killer cuz we couldn't vials cuz lobbies were so bad. Played SWF. All 4 needed plants. We burnt through the plants, and the game in a about 5 or so minutes. We just traded out sections of the map to loop while the others co-op'd plants, and gens. We went in games to die, and ended up escaping most of them.

  • @GrootDude said:

@Caretaker the plants were not forced objectives.

No, but everyone wanted them, and it didn't slow the game down at all. We need a secondary objective, this is true, but like someone stated before. If NOED is that big of a problem, then totems ARE a mandatory secondary objective. They're not hard to find, they're not hard to cleanse, you could find Ruin since survivors still somehow struggle against it. You have at the minimum two people on gens, assuming one is chased, one is hunting totems.

We need something that's going to actually change up the game. Right now all they're trying is side crap that doesn't help in the slightest. Not to mention we don't have an endgame. Killer shack is supposed to be super dangerous. It houses the God Pallet and is one of the safest spots on the map. Same thing with killers in the end-game. We're supposed to be scary, but no, the game is basically over at that point.

Small Game. If survivors stopped ignoring totems that they find, it wouldn't be that long. Also, I play solo, I memorized the totem spawns. Guess who hasn't been hit by NOED, but cut it out before it activated pretty much every game?

Billy only has to hold M2

It's W and M2, and flick thank you very much. Also, can't get hit if you slam a pallet into his face. Or use debris/flick yourself. I don't recommend flicking yourselves kids, leave it to the professionals.

  • @Acromio said:

Pallet looping is an exploit, as it shares several features with other exploits.

The survivors' collision is smaller than the killers', so survivors can turn around corners faster and make sharper turns. This causes the killers' faster movement speed to become less relevant, and it only gets worse when you take into account that survivors (the most experienced ones at least) literally hug walls and debris in general, and the killer, because of their 1st person POV, can't do the same.

Survivors are not passively just using pallet looping because it is there, they caused it to exist in the first place* and they have not practised any playstyle that doesn't crutch with pallet loops in two years.

*at one point, in the early days of Dead by daylight, survivors started to use pallets to farm and grief the killer rather than escape chases. Killers complained, got told to "just adapt", and we did. We started playing the hokey-cokey at pallets, when survivors were about to drop them. Long story short, the survivor dropped the pallet, missed the stun, and the chase continued. The situation worsened when a bug that caused stuns to award max boldness points was introduced. Some survivors would even disconnect after missing a stun, they were so desperate for the points, lol. Anyway, at that point killers started lunging mid cokey to get hits in and cut the BS short. Survivors went ballistic and drowned the forums in over eight thousand threads about "unfair" hits through pallet drops. So, patch 1.1.1 dropped and brought several buffs to pallets with it, the most noticeable one being the so-called "pallet vacuum". But there were also a set of unlisted changes that included modifications to both the range and time-window for a pallet stun, and also a reduction in the survivors' collision box.

Holy ######### I love you. Also, vacuums were also introduced as the devs, "Couldn't figure out how to stop players from getting trapped in pallets."

  • Loads up game. Plays Legion. Doesn't use power. 2 kills despite double DS, everyone 3 hooked, or on death hook. "######### Legion." 9 Deviousness cuz Adren healing. Fractured Memeshed, and still dying to me walking around. Told them I didn't use addons, didn't moonwalk, nothing. Was told it didn't matter cuz I could just moonwalk and cheese and that makes him op.

Yup. Legion is a monster and should be stopped!

Because the devs thought it would be funny to have chests hand out keys like candy.

I for one welcome our new vending machine overlords.

  • Yea, cuz running pallet to pallet and teabagging is super difficult amirite? It's why I hardly see Billy at all right?

  • @Jacoby2041 said:

It's kind of like how you can't stop killers from using high level addons

You show me a killer walking into a trial, holding M1 against a locker for 10s, then whipping out an Ebony and destroying your team.

  • Keys are more common cuz after the event they bumped the rarity if items in chests like crazy, reverting the nerf to not get pink items anymore. That also made keys much more common. Especially with Plunder. But it's ok, it's fun for survivors, so don't expect a change anytime soon. :)

Also at "Lul use Franklin's." Oh yea, let me waste a perk slot in my already super limited pool of perks so I can stop you from using a key that you have to just hold M1 for 10s and get some luck to get. Totally fair.

  • This dude is earning free wins all day, and banging bitches. What are you doing with YOUR life, pussy? Call now and learn how to Adrenawin today!

  • Can always adjust the numbers. I set it to 3-4 just in case, but that was his idea. I wanted 2 hits to apply personally. I suppose he could be bumped up to 115 with this change.

  • This reeks of bait, but eh.

Why does the entity block windows? Because instead of addressing infinites, and extremely poor map design they'd rather chuck bandaids into the game instead of fixing the problems.

Same goes for Bloodlust. Bloodlust doesn't fix anything, it didn't before it got nerfed, and it does even less now. Again, it's a bandaid for poor map design.

Ruin is a meme, and so easy to deal with it's unreal. Totems have a set spawn, you can bring a toolbox to negate it or make the check bigger, work with someone, blow the totem that you spawned on, or simply. Get good. It's not hard to hit greats assuming you even get that many skillchecks. I've had an entire gen where I got 2 checks. Ruin sure stopped me.

I find it hilarious how BBQ is a crutch, yet it had counters when it released. Only 3 or so killers can really make use of it with their mobility. On top of that they STILL gave you whiners a perk to stop it, an in-game mechanic change to avoid it, and you STILL cry about it.

NOED? You finish the gens in 3 minutes, teabag/insult the killer, but when they start bringing NOED it's suddenly unfair, killers op, it's a crutch, reeeee! Do the totems, stop being bad. Run Small Game, learn the spawns. You didn't do the easy counter, so you got punished. If all killers had actual power, and could pressure you'd see NOED, camping, and tunneling drop.

Also referring to "crutch perks" since we're being so broad. Unbreakable, Decisive Strike, Sprint Burst, Borrowed Time, Deliverance, Balanced Landing, Adrenaline, Self-Care, etc. There's a reason you only see these perks on survivors, and it's not cuz their perk pool sucks, or a perk just doesn't work cuz you're not killers and your power doesn't cuck you out of 70% of the perks available.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. This dude has their concerns for the changes. Not everyone is going to agree with one another, regardless if you like it or not, this guy brings some valid points. I say we just wait till it comes in game before we judge. Just like how everyone judged the freak out of Freddy after his release, followed by being nerfed to the ground.

There arent real valid concerns other than obsession changing. And being unable to use it if you get caught in the first 30 seconds.

If anything it makes it worse, not more powerful. Which is why I called this bait.

If he was mad that it was a useless perk, I'd understand it's an opinion.

Again, it's his concerns. Whether you like it or not, brings valid points. You don't see that as a concern and that's fine. I see where he is coming from and everyone else. PTB will be here shortly and we shall see how it is.

You know what, EXPLAIN, EXPLAIN HOW THIS IS A BUFF, please I would love to know, is it because you tunnel?

Once again, I don't tunnel. I know it's hard for you to understand that, but I don't tunnel since that's all you're spamming cuz you're desperate to prove I'm just a toxic killer. Also, tunneling doesn't exist. Stop being a #########. My job is to kill survivors, not be their imaginary friend.

Gen tapping? Totally fine. Dribbling? Removed. Slug them 4head! They start running Unbreakabill, and slugging got nerfed so they just got to 95% and get picked up before 60s passes while other survivors do gens/waste the killers time. Down someone that got hooked end-game? Hope you like eating DS and losing champ. :^) Also, the super easy to hit skillcheck is now even easier to hit. 4 people can now reliably run DS without any penalty or worry.

How is this not a buff?

If you dont tunnel, then DS is dead. It wont affect you and will make survivors play with 3 perks.

If you do tunnel and play the most optimal way to win, then this perk is good against this strategy.

This is 100% a nerf to DS, as long as you dont tunnel the survivors. If you do, sucks for you haha

Easier to hit, 60s safety window, still stuns, makes unbreakable better, makes deliverance better. No more downside to quad ds. Huge nerf. You got me.

    Lol this bait actually worked??

Who said this was bait? Sorry you have trouble understanding why this new DS is insane.

The Swf squads gonna run the perk along with those perks you mentioned.

SWF Squads don't need to use this perk though, they have borrowed time.

This perk is kind of self borrowed time for solo survivors imo. It is powerful but not as much as old DS. I am okay with this change both as a killer and as a survivor honestly

It's still just as strong. A squad of 4 with DS can waste SO much time it's unreal.

Can't wait to use my DS when the exit gates are opened along with my buddy who has BT. :)
On a side note I see that going to be a thing now. Survivors will just farm the hook in front of you like its nothing without any fear. Well we shall see how it goes I guess, I assume it will be on the next PTB first before live in game.

Boom, someone gets it. Toss in Deliverance, Borrowed Time, some Unbreakabill. Delicious second chances.

FINALLY A BRAIN CELL! THANK YOU!

    Buff? Can you guys read?

    He cant.

He seems like a person who only thinks that removing that Perk or making it completely useless is the only thing to do. And he is not understanding that both is not really an option.

NONE OF THAT IS THE NERF, THE NERF IS UNHOOKING SOMEBODY AFFECTS THE UNHOOKER WITH IT FOR 40/50/60 SECONDS, LITERALLY NOT TUNNELING IS COUNTERING IT, SLUGGING COUNTERS IT NOW, LITERALLY DRIBBLING STILL WORKS, WHEN USING IT, DS LOSES ITS CHARGE AND CANNOT BE USED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TRIAL, GOOD GOD HOW HARD IS IT TO UNDERSTAND

Yes, so for 60s they're totally safe unless you want to get yet ANOTHER extended chase. Let me avoid someone so they can get healed and waste even more of my ######### time that I DO NO HAVE. SLUGGING WAS NERFED AND DOESN'T COUNTER IT. THEY'LL JUST RUN UNBREAKABLE OR GET PICKED UP AND HEALED. MORE TIME WASTED. IT LITERALLY SAYS IN THE DESCRIPTION, YOU CANNOT DRIBBLE ANYMORE. JUST DON'T USE DS, AND SAVE IT 4HEAD.
