I haven't seen it in 5 games. Guess that cancels out your anecdote. :/
Just try not to exaggerate so much, kay?
I see these perks. They are good perks. Because everyone is too busy mindlessly humping Adrenaline and other perks that play the game for them. Cuz survivor isn't braindead ######### easy as it is. Doesn't mean these perks are bad, or don't get played with. That is my point.

Actually you said perks that are "everywhere" and "you're crazy for not running it." Neither of which applies to any of those perks. Even Deliverance, the most popular survivor perk of the past few DLCs is not everywhere or crazy good.
Last 5 games had it. No one must run it I guess. :/

If you think survivors don't get at least one each patch, + freshly buffed old perks I don't know what to tell you.

Killer is so much easier now than solo survivor it's ridiculous.
Killer mains will never be happy though. MORE BUFFS! MORE! MOOOORREEEE!
If you're still finding killer too hard then the issue is with you.
Ah yes, we should totally balance the game around casual solo players. Wouldn't want a survivors fun ruined. :c

Yeah I remember when everyone started running Aftercare, Autodidact, Boil Over, Dance With Me, Distortion, Stake Out, Breakdown, Diversion, Tenacity, and Windows of Opportunity.
Some of those perks are pretty good.. but does this happen every patch? No. And none of them would be crazy not to run.
Why make up a history that's easily proven false?
The only perk I don't see out of those is stake Out, Tenac, Autodidact. Which are arguably meh perks. So, not sure what your point is here again. I said good perks.

If it were that broken more people would run it. I never saw anyone running it besides doing achievement.
No one runs it cuz they're too busy dryhumping the other meta perks and pretending they're good at the game to try something new. Or realize how insanely strong Poised is. This literally happens every patch. New perks come out, everyone cries they're trash and doesn't run it. Then out of nowhere it shows up everywhere, and no one can remember saying it was a bad perk and you're crazy for not running it.

Exposed would fix the issue of injured survivors being rewarded by getting sick without changing anything else. Thus making it better to spread out the sickness without actually messing with her specific dynamic in any other situation. It's a way to avoid giving free heals, dealing free damage or being useless and doing nothing at all.
If it exposed, they wouldn't be damaged, so the fountains would still in essence heal them.

I do think the projectile could use a speed increase. It's slow as hell. Makes windows very effective against her.
For once I might actually use Bamboozle on a killer. Just because of how strong windows are.

No. It's not. Let's put it this way. You have absolutely no idea what they did to The Plague prior to the public test. They could have nerfed and/or buffed her a 100 times in a 100 different ways. But you don't know and likely never will know what was tested. It's like the old saying goes "if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"
If you never played the Plague on the PTB, was she ever nerfed? That is the point I'm making here. Pretend that you didn't play her on the test server and judge her purely from the state she is in currently. What would you think of her? I think she's great just the way she is. I also didn't play on the test server so I don't have a tainted view either.
Current state? She's trash. Your point literally is nonsensical. I don't know what you're trying to do, but I don't care that you like her. That doesn't make her strong. Also, if she was nerfed after the PTB, it doesn't matter if you played her or not, she was nerfed.

Yes huntress have faster shoots, but corrupt purge have more flexibilty, starting with the posibility of multiple hits if various survivors on sight with just one vomit of corrupt purge.
And the best part is that you can vomit high and hit them avoiding walls or any kind of structure. This is not only very fun and awesome to get it done properly but also very useful.
Edit: A correction, the plague can hit a survivor faster or same speed than a huntress with corrupt purge, depending of the range, as you don't have to fully charge your power bar. So i guess the big difference with the huntress is the range.
Let me know when I can snipe people across the map as Plague. Also, none of them can toss over anything lower than a medium vault, assuming there isn't a ton of debris in the way cuz that's apparently the only map changes the devs seem to be able to add. Faster shots, better range, more accurate, better addons.

Oops I already said too much I main Freddy without his power and I 4K every game.
You fool! They'll finally nerf Freddy again! D:
-
@Irisora said:
I won't catalog her as, a weak killer. If used well she is very strong even if survivors don't heal once in the fountains. It takes some time to know her tricks, but not that much.
You can potencially get 4 kills with her with or without good addons, of course you have more chances with the good ones, specially if you start with corrupted fountains.
In my opinion i would say that she's below the huntress in vile purge mode, and above her in corrupt purge mode.
I play her addonless, and to some extent perkless seeing as I recently prestiged her. Huntress has a lot more options for her "corrupt purge" keeps it all match, has better angles, faster shots, etc. You can 4k, quad iri, etc, as any killer. That doesn't really mean they're good killers.
-
@GrootDude said:
Plague is weak IMO just go to a LOS breaking loop cut corners and boom she is destroyed.
Shhh, don't tell them that. If you bring logic into it and show she's actually a weak killer they'll just scream you're a sweaty killer main or you suck. :o Also, I too 4k every match as every killer, no matter rank. Never lost a survivor ever. Everyone else's opinion is irrelevant.
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
Is arcing a viable tactic as plague? Like you shoot the purge almost straight up so it goes right over the tall walls and hits the crouching survivor.
What if we buffed her vomit velocity and charge time instead of the full charge MS?
That way she could shoot over loops faster, hit you at longer ranges and generally just be able to break you quicker without needing to be a mindless hold the button the whole game Killer.
Personally I still think it would be better to have sickness give you exposed instead of broken and then remove any healing interaction from the fountains.
Yes, in fact it's better to sorta slingshot it by flicking your mouse back and forth to get extra distance/spread on the vomit. This isn't consistent over medium/tall walls and debris, but I've managed to puke on someone despite a pallet blocking them. With the wonky hitbox, I chalk it up more to luck than me just getting a good shot though. Exposed wouldn't matter, cuz it'd be the same issue we have.

"Then you clearly don't understand the system."
Nah. Pretty sure you're just exaggerating.
Pretty sure you don't know how the system works. 3 hook everyone, try to get all 4 dead prior to 2-3 gens completing, mix-up chases, etc. Boom, quad Iri. What do I know though, I'm just getting the odd quad iri on Plague Mom. Not like this system was how I quad iri'd before so I can still pip consistently or anything. Totally haven't quad iri'd everything either.
-
Originally you had to 4k, this was never fixed until the recent chapter. Now it requires a Merciless to get the Adept. Though there is a bug where you can two pip and get Ruthless somehow, so if you don't get it after a quad iri or something, that's what happened.
-
An OG/OC Deadite, Ruby from the show since the chapter is based on ED2/AVED, or one of the two versions of Evil Ash are my thoughts.

If the Plague sucks AND the survivors he's going up against are "potatoes" as he said, then you will not be getting 4 iridescents with how the Emblem system is currently working. You will not be going from rank 7 to 5 in no time in those circumstances.
Then you clearly don't understand the system.
@bubbascal said:
If you guys are not going for the fountains, then something is wrong.
The way to play Plague is to spread as much sickness as possible to make people use the fountains, then fetch Corrupt. If you're spreading the sickness a lot, Survivors won't be able to use those far-off fountains. And so what? That's loads of time the Survivor is spending going so far out of the way to heal.
Insta heals were also necessary because the sickness makes you Broken and deals damage to you. The insta heals also encourage you to infect and drop chase.
Go for full puke combo to break someone if they seem easy to get. But the strat is to get Corrupt ASAP and use Vile for small amounts of slowdown. Corrupt stops looping altogether.
Get Corrupt, then go for downs. Ideally use Vile to get people infected and tunnel a single Survivor to get them Broken, downed, then on the hook to distract everyone. Then, go infect some more and gather Corrupt if ready. Then massacre the Survivors. That's how she works.
If anything, Plague needs a lunge/range buff to secure downs...
Yup, let me go for the fountain across the map in no-man's land so I can get 30s of Corrupt Purge. Surely that won't bite me in the ass while they do gens safely on the other side. "Instaheal is necessary." That's a lulsworthy comment. Broken doesn't stop you from playing the game or looping. A survivor doesn't get punished for going out of their way to get a fountain cuz they have 3 other survivors doing their job while they heal.
Corrupt stops looping? In what universe? Let me know how you're puking around windows, jungle gyms, the shack, and tall walls. Cuz clearly you're on a whole 'nother level or in an alternate dimension.\
I do agree her lunge is off, but I'm not sure if that's just an animation issue, or yea.
-
The thing is 4 man swf swat teams, a lot of the time aren't even SWF. If you use the base knowledge the game gives you, pay attention, and just plan your pathing you can easily keep a killer busy/get gens done. It's not difficult, especially with all the second chances.
As for the video, her hitboxes have always been wonky. According to devs it's a latency issue. Also, 1 vid/wonky hatchet hit=killer is easy. Hmm.
-
@brokedownpalace said:
You also went from rank 7 to 5 pretty quickly it looks like. But yeah, she's awful.
I could do it as any killer. It's not difficult. For me at least.
The game before that. I had a daily. A back to back double pip. If you know how to work the new emblems you'll rank up just fine. Might take longer, but you will pip.
-

You're complaining yet you post screenshots of you double pipping, even with single pipping now being harder. Huh?
Can you read? This isn't me insulting you, I'm asking a legit question. Everyone has bad games, including survivors. I played well that game, but they were also potatoes at times. They ran really bad, made really stupid plays, altruism got me a few free hits. As any other killer, that game wouldn't have lasted as long. My playstyle actually fits the new emblem system, so of course I'm gonna get pips.
I always try to three hook, leave the area, go after new people, etc. These are two good games, out of a fair bit of bad games where I couldn't do anything at all cuz they just dryhumped gens, and I got looped cuz there was a pallet every 4 feet.
I'll do this again since this is the 3rd time I've had to say it.
ME HAVING A GOOD GAME OR TWO DOESN'T MAKE A KILLER STRONG OR VIABLE. I 4k'd as Legion without using my power, does that mean we should nerf Legion? The emblems were to show I play her and understand the new system.

Im not making a guide in this post, but its simple as that, if u know how to play her properly she is better than Huntress, so here we can see where she stands...
Top Tiers: Nurse, Spirit (before bug), Hillbilly, Plague, Huntress, Michael
Remember, the only real issue is always between the screen and the chair, not inside the game.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/editor/hc/483wnl2r1kdf.png
She's not better than Huntress. Also Spirit above Billy, woo lad. Also, same git gud instead of any real substance.
-
Oh no, they've run to a tall wall/jungle gym. Now I can't use my power. Oh no, they're not healing, now I can't use my power. Oh no, they healed across the map now I have to waste time running across this massive map to get my power and waste a chunk of duration to possibly hit someone once or twice. If I don't respect a pallet I lose it too.
Huzzah, I broke the survivors. Why is everyone healed all of a sudden? It only took me multiple pukes and loops to get them to that state, a full heal wouldn't be a detriment at all. No way, nope. She's not a good killer, she's so easily countered and rushed it's unreal. The idea that she's super good, and balanced is laughable. If you backrev a survivor into broken, they're an idiot. That simple.
All you have to do is use a jungle gym/window and keep ahead of the stream. Literally will not hit you. You know when she has Corrupt cuz the game alerts you, and she glows bright red, just don't get caught. If she tries puking, just keep running the loop. If she's puking directly on you, zigzag and you won't break. As if that was scary anyway. *Laughs in No Mither*
Puking on objects, doesn't really do anything unless they tap a gen, or drop a pallet, but you could puke on them when they go down anyway so. When corrupted, you can spread it, so you lose a chunk of time if you want more corrupted. Broken isn't scary and doesn't stop loops/give the killer a free hit. It also takes a lot of time if they're smart and can avoid it well enough. Like Marth said, "The time it takes to break I could've had them down already by just hitting m1."
-
@Delfador said:
Not being able to hold your 115% ms holding the puke may not put her in low tier but it definitely killed her chance to be a high tier killer imo. Right now, we could have our 6th (nurse, billy, hag, spirit, huntress) high tier killer.
In PTB, I think she was nice and kind of balanced. Survivors already had the high ground,
they could choose whether they would cleanse themselves or not,
they could choose whatever fountain they would use and force the killer to go to the other end of the map,
when you got the corrupted purge, it gave them a loud notification to give them an opportunity to hide and
you needed to break the chase and face a fountain to get your power and it would give them enough time to break line of sight.
Corrupted purge was supposed to be an unstoppable force but right now, it is difficult to hit them with 110% ms considering the fact that your puke goes very slowly. Also, you have to respect pallets if you don't want to lose your power and with 110% ms, if you respect pallets, you lose all the ground.
Or maybe I am awful with her and she really is a high tier killer. Idk
No you're right. With a few tweaks she could easily be a threatening killer with legit strength, and power. However, the fact that fountains are basically just Jigsaw box spawns really hurt her. There are entire games I just ignore fountains cuz the time it would take me to get Corrupt means I lose half the duration just getting to an area I can use it, assuming I don't lose/they play stealthy.
If you have any kind of lead on her, or a medium/full debris/tall wall you can completely ignore her puke. In fact you lose loops/chases for using your power. The amount of slows she has on a such an insignificant power is insane. Not to mention how much you have to go through just to power up a bit. The only time your puke is a real threat is when you get them in a corridor or they let you get a full stream off into broken. Even then the delay when you can swing hurts you and lets them get to a pallet or window.
Not to mention if they're not being a potato and they're running around you won't get a full stream off. You'll waste more time breaking them, than just hitting them to the ground. That shouldn't be a thing. You shouldn't feel like you're setting yourself back for using your power. Also the fact that you have to respect pallets is insane. She is the most hand-holding killer in the game, it's unreal.

Entitlement because it wasnt fully ready. She was being tested. Getting mad that it wasnt released how YOU felt it should be, regardless of the fact that the ptb was to test and change things accordingly before release. Do you not comprehend the words very well?
But, as you showed, shes viable with the change. Thank you for proving my point.
If you watched the reveal she's been tested well during/possibly before the lunar event. No change was made until AFTER the PTB, and EVERYONE disliked that change. EVERYONE wants fountain healing to be removed because it's so powerful against her.
You can't read can you? "I adjusted to the change, but I recognize it was a bad change. Me having good games, doesn't mean she's a good killer either."
I can 4k with any killer, doesn't mean they're good. A lot of survivors make stupid mistakes, so I can capitalize on that. Anyone with even a remote sense of coordination can shut her down completely. She's new so of course people cry she's fine, or op, and this sense that EVERYTHING is ok, needs to go. "Well the devs say," Well the devs nerfed Thantaphobia, and tried to nerf Fire Up. Sorry if I'm not really keen on what they think about the balance.
-
Yea, that's a no from me. Her power is already kinda weak, let's keep one of the benefits ok?
-
I believe it would technically fall under parody. Fortnite just straight copied the dance. DBD is more a tongue-in-cheek joke/parody of it so should fall under fair-use I believe.
-
Devs have been buffing solo like crazy, but survivors have a few bad games and suddenly the devs hate survivors! Reeee! Why should a killer stop playing cuz you got a DC? Just play the game, you can still live. A DC is not the killer's fault, so why should they suffer for it? Don't even try with why should survivors suffer? Not their problem chief.
The devs have issued massive ban waves for DCs, and I can tell you another one is probably coming soon with how often people DC. Not to mention there is currently major bugs where people are getting kicked from matches. For those who don't know a noise means they left the game. No noise mean they were disconnected/dropped net, or something.
I've heard of someone having anyone they puke on get kicked from the game after getting picked up. That could also be it. As for solos dcing and not trying due to emblems, that's why you're not ranking up. The problem is everyone has a bad game, and immediately runs to the forums and screams, "Killer op! Solo is impossible!" Yet I'm rolling around with No Mither and screwing around, and still pipping.
I love when people say killers are buffed, when we get next to nothing every patch, but survivors? Ho boy. Not even good bug fixes half the time, and when we do they come with, "C O M P E N S A T I O N N E R FS". I play both sides, stop asking for nerfs to killers, and buffs to survivors cuz someone screwed you. That's not a killer's fault.
Some of us are kind and we'll farm with you, if they don't, oh well, move on. As many people like to decry rank on here and say it doesn't matter an awful lot of people seem to care about it.
-
Doc. He's obnoxious as hell, and 90% of the time they just zap me repeatedly since they can't catch me and it's just a lot of noise, and annoyance.
-
What problem? Do the totems. It's that easy. All totems have a set tile spawn and location where they can be. Keep track, find them, boom. If you have trouble, run Small Game. Surviving isn't so hard that you HAVE to run nothing but crazy meta perks. I run a stupid build, and do fine. With enough games with SG you learn the spawns.
If you see someone has NOED, do the totem, or get out. If all 4 are alive, and all 4 die you're just stupid. That's all there is to it. You don't HAVE to save. You do not NEED a totem counter. Stop asking for the game to play for you, it already does that enough. Just cuz a solo had a bad game doesn't mean we just gut killers/perks.

So while on a test build, intended to see balancing and MAKE CHANGES BEFORE RELEASE, people got set in their ways on how to play a killer, and are upset that they saw the balancing needed and did just that? Because you cant play her how you think you should as opposed to how the devs feel she should be?
That screams entitlement.
It was a test build. Not early access.
Kinda funny that the same devs thought Freddy absolutely had to be nerfed after less than a week off PTB. We all got set-up as yes, this is how she will play. Then on release, they just stripped that out, and it really took a chunk of power away for something no one really wanted. More corrupt timer? Ok. More slows? Oh boy, cuz I love being slowed to a crawl every time I do something. Really helps the Clown out doesn't it? Huntress too.
How am I entitled for recognizing a bad change? I don't trust the devs, cuz I've spoken to the devs. Considering the meta, and how things have only been getting worse? Yea, clearly entitlement and not frustrated with poor design choices. Not like I play both sides so I recognize the issues, nope.
How often do you play Plague? Did you play her on PTB? Have you been playing her since release? Community: Fountain full healing is a bit too strong. Devs: Too bad. Yup, devs really know what they're doing. I adjusted to the change, but I recognize it was a bad change. Me having good games, doesn't mean she's a good killer either.
Inb4: LUL UR BAD

@Dreamnomad said:
Plague is fine. She feels very balanced to me which is surprising when I first saw the reveal on her. I was expecting her to be over or under powered. I'm pleasantly surprised. Play her for what she is. Sometimes I think the PTB is a huge mistake. Players get weird ideas into their heads. Ideas like she was nerfed. It is impossible for her to be nerfed before she goes live. Anything prior to her going live is test.
Uh, chief, a nerf is a nerf. Whether it's live or not. Also everyone played her by holding her puke. That was kinda the point, and made the multiple slows she gets from simply using her power not as bad. Now, you have to slow to rev, slow if you hold it, and slowed after. She's not a very good killer. You can completely cuck her by simply going to far out fountains, or just not healing. Broken isn't scary at all. If no one heals until end-game, you're losing out on half your power.
Also, she's so easily looped, as is her puke. Anything remotely tall will block the puke, and completely ruin her looping cuz you constantly slowed down. Yea, you can puke over mid/low walls, but you can arguably knock them down faster by just M1ing them. Then puke, hook, and let it spread that way. No mistake about it, she got nerfed, and the fact a pallet stun removes her power is laughable.

Afaik he can't increase madness on slugs but if you're in madness 3 when you go down you will scream periodically unless running calm spirit.
Either way, infectious fright shouldn't work on downed survivors imo. That's what deerstalker is for.
It'd be nice to have an alternative, it's not nearly as strong as Deerstalker in that sense, so don't see why it'd be an issue.

You have to down them with your basic attack for it to proc, maybe that's what's happening? If you use a hatchet or chainsaw or corrupt purge it doesn't proc.
I made sure to M1 just in case. Could've been skirting out of my range.

Gonna drop in with a bit of a nod to these perks being done. If you remember Plague Mom's reveal they were playing her during the Chinese New Year event, and her perks didn't have icons. Same thing with Freddy when he was revealed. Some weren't shown cuz icon wasn't ready. Icon is the last thing they do for a perk, probably to signify it's done. The fact it came in a patch and are working shows they're pretty much ready to go.
