First off, these are not comparable. NOED can be destroyed, in fact I've stopped 3 NOEDs tonight alone. Wanna know how? I gasp took time to break the totems. You're all super lazy and wanna rush gens and get a free escape then cry that you got NOED'd. It's literally you're own fault. Plus the killer is running with 3 perks all game, 2 if you count the Ruin that blew instantly or didn't do anything cuz greats aren't hard to hit.

Hell, if you pay attention you can almost tell when a killer is running NOED, or do what I do and just not risk it. Their not hard to find at all even with the change. Run Small Game if NOED triggers you so much.

But that would mean that they have to get rid of one of their crutches

Tell me about it. I only recently started using exhaust perks again, and went with Lithe. You can do fine without any of the meta perks. That's what makes survivor the power role. You can run whatever build you want and still perform well without them.

  • Here's how you counter this. You don't. Your buddies rush the gens, get out, and you die. This isn't a game about holding hands, or you escaping. You will die. You call the killer a dick, shake out all that salt, move on the next match, and keep playing.

  • BHVR stop ######### up! Despite the fact that you literally have no control of the certification process, and it's just Sony screwed up. REEEEEEE! Give us the patch, reeeeeeee! Seriously, do you guys read what you write? They've told you many times what's going on but you choose to be willingly ignorant. It'll come when it's ready, when SONY says it's good to go.

  • My thing is this puts him up higher on the list, he's definitely in a better spot, but a lot of his main issues aren't addressed. Which is that he takes too long to set-up. The bigger maps utterly destroy him, and indoor maps deny him camo for his traps. As if people already don't know how and where a trapper will be placing traps. If the hitboxes on them weren't so iffy, and sometimes hard to disarm they'd almost never snap.

It's a good step, but he needs a better mechanic to handling his traps, and setting them around. An ultra-rare to make him a semi-scary killer? It's a neat concept, but come on. Also 3m to get a sabo'd trap back? 1.5m with addons? That's an entire match.

Stop fanboying please, try to be objective... The survivor got there first so if marth wanted to make sure he had the upper hand he should have swung at the survivor and down him while he's not at the hatch and while it isn't open because if the killer gets to the hatch how is it any fair for the survivor? He can't run to the gates because if he does, marth will go after him and he can't jump the hatch because he'll get grabbed.
Nevertheless the survivor could have played that much better and he took a big gamble.

Ironically if you were being objective, according to their rules had Marth waited he would've won due to it being a hatch standoff. Which they both knew it would come down to, thus according to the rules before the random introduction of a bullshit rule to pad views with added controversy, Marth won.

There was no clarification on whether the hatch had to be open or not. Marth was on the hatch, the game was over. It was already won. Literally the entire chat agreed Marth won aside from a few random contrarians, and obsessed people desperate to discredit the Depip squad cuz god forbid they actually have to try when they play survivor.

here is a clip about the host and how they viewed the tournament. to them it was just to try to get bigger watch this this is sick. https://clips.twitch.tv/YawningShyLettuceRedCoat they only gave a crap about how they was getting viewers and host. and from this point on they did everything they could to extend it far longer then it need be with restarting matches that should have been counted to forcing overtime by changing rules to suit the desires of them.

Holy #########...that's pathetic. I would've been happy just getting an opportunity to commentate the literal best DBD has to offer. This is just going up in flames.

OP specifically said this thread wasn't about that but somebody has to correct you.

There were made-up rules (rules that aren't in the game) but those rules were consistent and followed throughout.

If there is controvesy, it should be settled via a rematch, which it was. Marth lost the rematch fair and square.

Congratulations to Tournament Monsters for their legit win.

Keep on with that logic. We have literal video evidence, so I'm just gonna disregard you as the evidence literally proves you wrong. Also, what I said ties in to the fact he and his team were extremely unprofessional and handled the entire tournament, and grand finals especially poorly.

I know that, along with many other things I witnessed inspired me to come to make this post. but then some fan girls tried to make this post into something other then about the extremely poor host choice.

There was a LOT of poor choices. Why they didn't pick a member of the community is beyond me. I fear for them when they wake up.

Bugger off. You can see in the clip the Russian team acknowledged they lost. The rule was changed last minute, and they were robbed. Marth didn't swing cuz he knew he won, then swung assuming the match was over. Get over it.

The patch where nothing changed. I'm so glad the game is now finally balanced. Oh boy, the vacuum is gone! Glad I still have 20+ pallets to munch through as they Sprint Burst away multiple times. Good thing I have Bamboozle to stop this loop...and they sprinted to another jungle gym. Hmm.

    @Caretaker

    Hello!

The developers have mentioned their being a balanced changes in the mid-patch update!

I'll give you some things they've said so far :)
Note that these are being tested and can always change!

    Freddy:
-Dream transition reduced to 4 seconds (was 7).
-Selfcare doesn't cause survivors to wake up during a failed skill check.
-Dream world effects will be decreased for both sides (and I'm assuming the slowness and aura revealing).

    Trapper:
    -Traps auto-regenerate when sabotaged.
-Starts with 2 traps in hand.
-More add-ons to make sabotaging traps harder.
-Aimation of placing a trap will be faster.

    General:
-Killer's power will be less reliant on their add-ons (Example: Nurse blink doesn't need anything to make her power reliable).
-Killer's power will be faster in general.

Hopefully this will make you more happy and make you look forward to the balance mid-patch!
If you want to see my source, go-to "Q&A sessions" and then check out the "June 4" Red dot Q&A session!

Have a great time in the fog!

I do appreciate the info, and I know they're working on it, but I wanna feel like a killer again. I wanna actually play the game and not feel like I need to stare someone down on the hook cuz I lost 4 gens instantly.

Thanks again though, I have faith, I just Idk.

  • Told a guy to stop running Sprint Burst, but he couldn't cuz he'd actually lose then. He told me to stop running Remember Me. Survivors are another kind of special.

  • Survivors powered 4 gens before I could hook the DS guy. Chase wasn't even that long, they just rushed gens. I camped him and shoo'd the ones that came in for saves. Ended up killing 2 at the gate. In after-game chat.

    "yawn"
"boring game, no one got points."
    "no camp yes"

I explained it was their own fault for rushing gens, I black pipped, got a 3k, and my daily done so I was fine with it. They said get good, don't camp. Ok then. Their scores were like 3.4k, 5k, 7.5k, and the other got 12.8k cuz they dipped as I was hooking. Take a little responsibility survivors, you want a game then we'll play. You rush out as fast as possible you aren't gonna get #########, and it's all on you.

Do you think lithe is ok?

In my honest opinion, I think it's stronger than SB. The only thing keeping it back is it requires smart play. You can't just Lithe over a pallet while looping, you have to use it with proper pathing. Technically Lithe gives you even MORE distance and time as well as better chances to stealth. However, it does require a window so I don't really wanna say it's as broken as SB, +it's much rarer to see. Not to mention it requires a chase too.

Thank goodness my lithe and I won’t have to part anytime soon🤗. I use it every game in fact I don’t even have the SB teachable. I can’t wait until dance with me goes live so i can combine it with lithe

Lithe is good cuz it doesn't just give you a free escape. If you're in an unsafe area, you're unsafe. Lithe encourages good pathing, timing, etc. It's interesting to see how Dance With me will go with it for sure.

Did you see the windows of opportunity perk that highlights pallets and windows through walls at a 20 meter range? I’m sorry but that to me just seems like it was made specifically for rank 20 survivors. It’s the most hand holdy perk imo like i don’t even have to plan my routes anymore. I can just start doing a gen and if the killer comes I know where everything thing is while I’m running so there’s no thinking involved anymore

Yea, I'm hearing a lot of people saying it's a tutorial perk of sorts. It can be super clutch though cuz it shows downed pallets, if a building has a vault. It's gonna probably be in a fair bit of builds.

I believe Hex: Devour Hope is an amazing Perk, and that statement includes the heavy Hex downside.

I've been wanting to test it as an alternative to Ruin. Seen as if either blows instantly they both had the same effect. However if DH stays up it's NOED until they break it, possible moris, and they WILL go look for it instead of tapping, or just nailing checks anyway.

It's super fun to snowball with, but that's the downside. Without Ruin you HAVE to snowball.

If you managed to hit someone who was Healthy while having 3 Tokens, it saved you a lot of time already, for you cut down the chase by a potentially large amount of time.
Being able to kill them is amazing, sure. But the primary reward is being able to 1-hit.
Even on someone like Hillbilly it's great to have, for main attacks don't require nearly as much as the Chainsaw.

That's how I see it. If you get NOED for a good chunk of time it easily pays its weight.

Gonna drop the hot take here, Sprint Burst is arguably more powerful than DS and allows far more mistakes/escapes. As does the mini-sprint burst after hitting a survivor. I've watched survivors clear the map in the time it took me to catch them, hit them, and watch them sprint off from the hit. If gates are open it's pretty much a free win. Ever seen a Sprint Burst + Hit Burst? They get double speed. That's right, it stacks.

I'm there wiping and they're already shooting off at ludicrous speed.

Oh easily lol it makes every gen a safe gen. Hell there could be a gen in the basement and with sprint burst it’s possible get out without being hit

Oh yea. Drop in a cheeky 360 and boom. Easy distance bois. I gotta admit I kinda like when they do. Free hit for me. Unless I randomly nail debris. It was really iffy on the PTB. Another hot take, Adrenaline is stupidly annoying with how fast/easily gens get done.

DISCLAIMER: PERSONAL OPINION DON'T BOOLI ME

I always thought adrenaline was really funny especially if they were looping because as soon as that last gen pops they’re like” well my job’s done here, bye have a great time✌️” and sprints off into the distance. I usually lose them because I always start laughing at it.

Now I'm forever going to hear that one show ending, "Bye! Have a wonderful time!"

A lot of people are blinded/jaded and it's just making the game more and more toxic due to the plethora of balance issues and band-aid fixes. People have become so complacent that minor changes are seen as game breaking. There is a stronger side, I don't have to say which. This hasn't changed for a year + now and it's causing the other side to play even more toxic, and lose all variety which is sad. I love this game and really want it to succeed.

I also want a fair and balanced game where if I lose it was my fault for playing poorly, and not some broken mechanic, or second chance given to a survivor. Not all killers want survivors to just run in a straight line and die, but I wanna actually have some fun instead of play Nascar.

Finally, stealth is fun, and it needs to be rewarded a lot more. Even if it frustrates and bores me it's nothing compared to just munching 30 pallets in a row. Even after I swapped to a new target.

The nascar bit was too perfect 😂

The one things survivor never seem to learn is motioning, "Come here." or teabagging and sprint bursting away is just going to make me camp the hook even harder. You're literally saying, "I'm bait, someone is unhook them." You're killing the guy on the hook.

Like all these people think the Clown is just fine. You literally wanted a Clown killer now you have one, even though every Killer is currently a Clown except Nurse and Billy.

He's cool. His power is cool. He has potential.

But. He. Currently. Sucks. There are good players that exist that are quick to learn you know. There's nothing difficult to learn about him. You throw cinderblocks at Survivors that barely blur their vision and hardly slow them down at all. If you time it right, sure, you MAYBE can land a hit on a guy you wouldn't have otherwise.

But so can Doc, more effectively. So can Huntress with a hatchet. So can Nurse with a Blink.

Clown has absolutely nothing special that makes him stand out other than the fact he's a literal clown. His gas needs to do something drastic, something MORE than just blur on slowdown.

He's a weak Killer. Low mid tier at best.

    Thank you. 100% this.

Yes, clearly that's the issue. 300+ hours as Huntress, and nailing bottles all night, but no. That's the problem. Why is it so hard for people to admit he's nothing special? I have it on stream too. The gas hit him, he fast vaulted. I've only see the gas slow someone twice out a window out of the 5-6 hours I played him.

You cannot compare huntress and the new killer with their powers, the trajectory is different and the bottles leave an effect. and like I said none of this is final they can still buff the base time of effects as well.

Huntress throws hatchets. Clown throws bottles. It's almost like they're the only two "ranged" killers. Huntress can hinder, exhaust, mangle, one-shot, etc with addons. He hinders for less time baseline. Which is why we also compare him to Doc. I'm hoping none of this is final, which is sorta why I made this thread. Everyone's taking it like I'm an expert and my word is law. Then again it's DBD, and a public forum, I don't expect mu;ch.

I do have to agree a little with you, I dont want this to be the final version of the killer he can definitely be better, but I dont think hes #########

He's hovering just about low-tier. I say he's ######### cuz his power is negligible at best. If there's an instance where it's better to just M1 than hit someone with a bottle, that's a problem. He's a chase killer apparently? The fact it slows him to throw, and the reload wastes so much time is a huge detriment. He's fun for sure, but he needs his numbers tweaked, and possibly more added on. Bigger cloud, faster spread would be nice too. I've seen survivors just run through it like it's nothing, probably a bug tbh.

He hinders for less time baseline. Which is why we also compare him to Doc. I'm hoping none of this is final, which is sorta why I made this thread. Everyone's taking it like I'm an expert and my word is law. Then again it's DBD, and a public forum, I don't expect mu;ch.

Not sure if this was more appropriate here, or in the Survivor side, but I'd like to answer the age old question of why killers don't show mercy. This is why. I hooked everyone twice, before moring, then she drops a pallet at the end of the match and teabagged at the gate. I'm super confused. I don't get why giving everyone a fair chance, nets me BM almost every match. I get more GGs for playing how I hate to be treated as a survivor. What is even going on?

Stop getting upset over tbagging and move on.
That being said, I never tbag. But still, just ignore it.

Didn't say I was upset, was pointing out an observation. Read the thread?

When new killers are released, survivors usually complain that he´s OP.
He would get 4 kills while stomping noobs.
After some time they get used to the new mechanics and he´s suddenly not OP anymore.
This time, survivors think he´s balanced and fun to play against.
That´s a very bad sign. Since survivors had no time to adapt to him yet.
I can only imagine what happens once survivors got used to him.

It really doesn't help that most of us don't have any decent perks to play with him, but even then it's hard to get a build that works for him. The only response I get is, "Lol you just don't know how to play him." There's nothing special to learn here. He can mind game a bit, but that's not really a tech, or good use of his power. You're better of m1ing 90% of the time.

As for the person saying it forces a slow vault, wrong. I just had a match where they fast vaulted through my cloud.

It's extremely lackluster. There's almost no reason to run it outside of getting Deviousness points, and maybe cutting an unsafe loop? That's about it.

I think the bottle would be ok if maybe it was part of something bigger and wasn’t the main power but an opiton he could choose from. Like he could have a bottle that causes exhaustion for a short amount of time so for example if someone has lithe and they’re about to jump a window you hit them with the bottle that causes exhaustion then lithe won’t activate.

I've heard some people say he feels like he has a two part power that wasn't finished. It needs a lingering effect or something.

He's fun i'll give him that, but weak. The gas effect needs to last much longer at base and the blurred vision much worse. Either those or make it so for the gas duration you can't use windows or pallets. That would ACTUALLY make it a zone denial and block pallet looping. Currently it does neither. So many killers are too addon dependent.

See and that's the buffs I'd give him. No actions in the cloud, maybe a bit after. If you're hit directly with a bottle maybe a minor stun if you fully charged it? Faster reload. Better trajectory. Bigger cloud size, have it spread faster. 5 bottles minimum. Right now there's almost no reason to bottle someone when you can just hit them instead.

I am really wondering about the mimimi of the killers. On high ranks you don't want to change your perk build obviously, so the swf have to be nerfed. why not stunning swf when throwing pallets on high ranks...so loops are gone, ruin totems only in basement and killers should get buffed when gens are done...if you don't get ALL 4 kills, let's nerf the swf perks....those crying killers i can't really understand. when i play killer on high rank i get my 2-3 kills. maybe your doing something wrong??!? with BBQ you have vision over almost the whole map. if you get looped your just stupid. our bloodlust has been buffed so it's really easy to chase down swfs. hatches can know be closed. flashes are also easy to dodge so if you cry about your game not killing everyone, your just a noob without skills. and if you have a swf group on discord or TS, you don't get a kill....wow, what a problem....it is still a game! crying about that seems you have a really sad life.

There is no special tech with him. You throw the gas, they get slowed. You have to be ON THEM for the gas to be effective. Otherwise they drop the pallet and just make even more distance. Nothing has changed. He's a clown by design in every way possible.

If you know how to throw the bottles and where to throw them, he'll be viable as a control killer.

The slowdown is effective to catch up to the survivors, forcing them to drop the pallet early and why would you not be throwing the bottles at the survivors at a distance anyway? It's not like you slow down when using the bottles.

What perks are you running with him? I'm doing fine with Enduring, Brutal Strength, Coulrophobia and Overcharge.

Currently leveling him up, with Bamboozle and Blood Warden. I hit bottles fine, but it doesn't matter if they just sprint burst out of it. He doesn't stop them from looping, just slows it down a bit.

    @Dwight_Confusion said:
Dude, I'm all for them making him very powerful. I'm all for it... but people would just whine and complain. They can easily make him more viable.

    Here's how...

-Increase the time it takes to shake the bottle for the 4 additional bottles by like 3 seconds maybe? (Nerf)
-Increase the AoE of the cloud of toxin by 30% (buff)
-Increase the duration at default (no addons) by .5 to 1 seconds.

So with awesome addons the size of the cloud is bigger, and the effect is much longer. This would make him very difficult to play against.

My problem with you is that on the 1st hours of this PTB (remember what that means?) you're generalizing things into a poor category.

Basically this new killer is trash because you've played with him/against him a few times? I disagree. They need to slightly buff his power. As I mentioned above (they are good ideas)... and they need to slightly buff some killer add ons as well.

Ultra Rare addons and Very Rare add ons should have very very little to NO drawbacks. Like for Freddy... his Red Paint Brush should NOT reduce his movement speed at all...

None of the Wraith's add ons need to hurt him in a negative way. They definitely need to give the killer more power. I agree... but some of us are jumping the gun big time on this.

Out of the box? From what I've seen... he's a nice solid MID TIER killer, just below above Doctor and/or Pig.

    His perks are strong though...

Bottom 4 killers? Who knows and who cares right now. Enjoy what they've released. FOR FREE for now.

He doesn't stop or do anything special. Just like Pig, Sprint Burst ruins him. Gens pop absurdly fast. He gets slowed down by using his power and reloading it. His addons are ok, his perks are decent, but he as a killer is fun at best, not good. If he's below Pig that means he's low/bottom mid-tier. I stated earlier my opinion might change, but like any other killer he just gets bullied and his power is lackluster at best. Hitting someone with a bottle doesn't even do anything extra with an ultra rare.

  • @Dwight_Confusion said:

If they stay in the gas they are slowed.

If they leave the gas they are slowed for 1.5 seconds.

If the survivors are hit by the gas, their vision is blurred making it easier to mindgame them.

He has add-ons that can increase the range and duration of the gas and one that can negate exhaustion perks.

Use him as an area denial. Loopers are going to have a hard time if you throw the bottles in the right spot.

Players are struggling with him because he's new. Learn how to play as him.
