  • My plan is to be entirely unpredictable. You mentioned doubling back, but I instead move at a straight line if I know the first blink can't reach me and try to juke the second blink so I can gain more distance. Doubling back is a smart idea, but many nurses don't blink the entire duration of they see you doubling back, they'll do a half-distance blink. So I pretend to double back, they'll half-distance blink which won't be enough and then I return to running on my original direction.

Another common strategy is to not think, if you don't know what you're doing, how will they be able to predict your movement? Kekw

Why does the killer need to bait it when it isn't used to miss a hit?

THE PERK IS USED TO GET AN EXTRA LAP IN A LOOP OR TO MAKE A WINDOW THAT WAS TO FAR AWAY NO MATTER WHAT THE KILLER DOES BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO SAY IN THE MATTER OR EVEN COME INTO PLAY

    Please read it.

In certain situations, where there is a deadzone, deadhards are used to cause a missed swing, or when a good loop is in the position of the killer. The main use, tho, is for distance.

  • Dead hard is strong, but doesn't really need a nerf

Certain killers can tap their power to bait deadhard (like wraith). If you don't have that luxury, you need to get a bit closer than usual and they'll probably dead hard. If they don't it's a free hit. Don't swing immediately tho, wait it out for a couple of seconds.

  • Really interesting, a passive item. Even tho I like the idea of passive items, this specific item is basically a map with some added advantages. Items are specifically designed to fulfil one role and don't interact with each other, for example maps reveal the auras of objectives, and the key reveals the aura of the killer and/or survivors and opens hatch. They have almost nothing in common. A toolbox makes a gen go a bit faster and allows sabo, where a medkit allows you to heal faster and heal yourself. Flashlights are for aggressive purposes, same with firecrackers.

The compass will have almost the same effect with the keys and the map combined, that's why I think it wouldn't be added.

Like the idea of passive items a lot tho

Extra co-op bloodpoints are a compensation for playing suboptimally and prolonging the game. • Wow I cannot possibly comprehend the seriousness of the situation. I wish we had evidence that the devs played their own game. Quick sidenote, in order for a dev team to release a patch they have to do something called "playtests". I don't know why I mention this at all, but in these playtests they have to try the new patch they made, themselves. But we have no evidence to support that, do we? Let's assume they use bots instead.

  • A friend of mine lost all her progress, and has already sent a ticket to bhvr. Unfortunately she got no answer, and she still has every character lvl 1 without prestige. You can lose all your progress and the devs won't answer for a month (that's how long she's waited thus far, let's see how long she'll wait)

  • I generally make a web and force them to come into my web. If a trap gets discovered and they deactivate it quickly, I'll adapt its placement.

They're forced to come to your web, your area. Make sure to place traps in unpredictable ways so they won't be able to flashlight em. I suggest michi, he's a good hag one trick youtuber that explains some good traps and trap placements.

Quick tip, you don't need to teleport to each trap, even tho it's good to apply pressure. There are times where teleporting to a trap is simply not worth it, you'll just have to get passed this mental barrier, that forces you to tp to each traps. I also suggest my build on hag, which amplifies her ability to setup:

    Corrupt/sloppy/m&a/a nurse's calling

This is the main build I use on hag. Corrupt buys you time to setup more traps, and forces them early into your web.

Since most hag games don't tend to last long, sloppy is godsend. You can instead bring save the best for last, but in the rare scenario where they do manage to hold up, sloppy helps significantly. And also combos with

A Nurse's calling. Now it's kinda weird for an 110% killer to have nurses, and you're correct, she doesn't have any mobility. But she has a smaller terror radius than normal and she's shorter/less visible. So you catch many people off guard, and allows you to place traps ahead of the survivors.

Lastly, m&a which combos great with nurses and makes her extra sneaky. Also if you despise how slow it feels as hag, it kinda helps a bit.

The mains problem as hag are OoO users, but michi already explained how to put traps in certain positions to even catch OoO users off guard, so I won't go into detail for em.

Pretty weird definition of "bully", given that you'd just described juking a good killer as something different from bullying in that same sentence. So let me get this straight - to you "bullying" means "outsmarting and outlooping".

You appear to have your own personal definition of "bullying" that doesn't suit either the dictionary or the general usage here in the DBD community. Ask most people here to describe what "bully a bad killer" means and I sincerely doubt that "outsmarting and outlooping" will be what anyone else says.

The reason you perceive me as being aggressive is probably because it beggars belief that you could see your own post quoted when you were first replying to me and claimed that you hadn't mentioned something you very clearly did. It honestly really looks like you've realised you said a ######### thing and are trying to do anything possible to make it sound better.

Re-read your own comments. First it was "I didn't say that" then it changed to "When I said that I meant something different from what pretty much everyone else means when they say that". Comes across as completely insincere, can you see that?

Edit: At any rate, I see no point in belabouring the point. You clearly have a belief that you're correct and I clearly will never believe that "bullying" means to outsmart someone, so there's little value in continuing the discussion. I'm sure you've formed an opinion of me and I've formed one of you and neither really matter much in the grand scheme of things. I've made my point.

    I agree, there's no point

My sentence was a literal quote from your post, where you specifically stated "I love playing against a nurse because it feels so good when you juke a good one, or bully a bad one."

Those are your exact words, what on earth do you mean "I doubt I mentioned bullying". It was LITERALLY in the post I quoted. So please don't try to retroactively claim that you didn't use the exact words you quite clearly did. You specifically stated that "it feels so good when you juke a good one or bully a bad one."

Kinda pointless to lie and make the claim that you didn't mention bullying when your words are written right there in black and white. Did you not read your own post???

You're the one who stated that you enjoy bullying a bad nurse. Own your words and the consequences thereof. I'm not the one who first mentioned bullying, I was just responding to your absolutely clear statement.

Honestly, how on earth can you say "I doubt I mentioned bullying" when it's in your words in the post you're quoting???

Edit to add the original post as an image, underlining the relevant phrase.

It wasn't an original lie, I was simply too lazy to read my own comment, sry!

Also, bullying is generally a pretty weird term, speaking for dbd. It was my mistake that I didn't define it correctly (ironic since I defined it in my latest post). What I meant to say is outsmart and outloop a killer. It is, my fault tho, that I didn't specify so apologies for that.

Lastly, why be so aggressive? We're just having a conversation and I made a mistake, which I admit I did chill out. What i said is generally true, apart from the "I'm unsure if I mentioned bullying" where you correct that I mentioned.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/221673/tunneling-camping-slugging-bullying-lets-clarify-the-definitions-of-these-words

Im sorry but i think you don't really understand what a term you try to define mean....

"Tunneling is intentionally targeting a tunneled survivor without caring about the unhooker or the people nearby. What that means, is that if you find only the unhooked person and down them, you basically had no choice but to do so. Let's call it "unintentional tunneling". But if you go back and find both the unhooker and the unhooked and prioritise the unhooked then it's considered tunneling."

WRONG, this had be define already, tunneling is getting out of your way as a killers to target 1 specific survivor, throwing the game by doing it (not applying pressure on the 3 other survivors doing gens). If you unhook a surv while the killer is still close enough to come back or not in chase with another surv is a unsafe unhook and of course the killer will go for the injured one 1rst, down him again and mostly slug him while chasing the other, thats call pressure and it'll be a dumb move to let the unhooked go heal/do gens (unless 5 gens remain or killer want to be very kind cause he feel that he face a nooby/weak team and don't need pressure atm). Its not the killer fault if your teamate farm hook, heal you under the hook or you want to use BT to mess with the killer.

For the rest, youre mostly right, there is a field of what camping can mean, what you define 1rst is call facecamping, its counter productive for killers and mostly new killer will do it (cause they want a kill at least), but yeah some salty/toxic killer use it cause if you face altruistic/noob survivors, it can be super effective. But there is also, proximity camping when killers stay close enough waiting for the unhook, forced camping when like you said, killers know there is a surv close waiting for the unhook or when another survivor is chased and choose to loop around the hook, end game camping when the door are open or 99, why would the killer should go walk the dog when he know that the game is over and the only pressure tool he have left is in the hook ?

You're right for slugging, tho its is not a toxic gameplay, its a pressure tool when gens fly and almost the only way to get a 4K. Also some killers are made for slugging and its the only way you can play them (Nurse, Twins etc...).

Bullying is pov aspect, some will consider FL save constantly as bullying tho its a survivors tool to defend a teamate, bullying is in the eye of the one that consider being bullied like IRL, some will consider joke as bullying when other will consider being beaten by their classmate as hazing.

I do understand, and i think its hardcore tunneling :)

Fair enough, and I appreciate you taking the time to elaborate on your intention, i.e. goal. I still submit that my terms are different because they are for specific, in-game use. I give them out as examples, but ultimately they only have value for someone playing in a Team w/Comms. In the end, while I can understand (and even appreciate) the goal you stated, I'm going to point out that even when things do have a clear meaning, people apply them for other purposes, i.e. to judge, shame, and manipulate other Players. It is why I'm not sure there is a value outside of communications in a match.

For example, I've been accused of tunneling and camping even in matches where I gave everyone THREE hooks (very hard to do today) and never did the same person in a row. I never staid by a single hook. :) I was called these things merely because I won the match. Thus, I don't really see the need in creating or perpetuating such terms because they never get used correctly even if they are defined.

    Thanks for understanding <3

I can agree that those actions are toxic. But I think what's best in determining what's bullying is the negative effect it has on people. Bullying weather it's online or not has really psychology and physical effects on the person. And this game can have some nasty effects on people. You ever had a killer game in which the survivors were so toxic you felt bad or wanted to stop playing, or a survivor game in which the killer was being toxic that you decided to be toxic to the next killer? Or even had someone insult you in the chat that made you feel angry? The effect of the toxic behavior from the survivor or killer, or in a broader sense the opposing side in a video game is why I would consider it Bullying. In short its Bullying if the toxic behavior has a negative impact on you in anyway.

And thank you for not calling me sjw I actually really appreciate it.

ffs when i mean ''bullying'' i dont mean changing the word irl, i obviously mean ingame. I dont ######### redifine irl words, i define the usage in dbd. i didnt think i had to make this clear.

  • @The_Bootie_Gorgon said:

Tunneling = ignoring everyone else and everything else except one person until they are out of the game.

Example, I down and hook a survivor. They get unhooked. I go after them and down them again and hook them again. They get unhooked again and I down them and kill them on the 3rd hook.

    isnt this considered hardcore tunneling?

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/221673/tunneling-camping-slugging-bullying-lets-clarify-the-definitions-of-these-words

Why? By in large these concepts are entirely subjective, and hence worthless. These terms are of zero value to the community and just add more fuel to an already idiotic fire. Your point in defining them seems to be, like so many others, to lay judgement on the tactics chosen. The only valid reason to try and define them is for quick communication in a match. And that requires a "Team" using some sort of Comms. Let me give you some examples. If/when I play on a Team (I do Solo mostly), me and mine have specific terms that communicate a lot of information fast. It cuts down on what we have to say.

    1. Squatter: This is a Killer who stays point blank at the hook, making no attempt to hide and wants to maximize the ability to punish or prevent a save. I only need to say, "We have a Squatter," and my Team knows everything they need to make choices.
    2. Lurker: This is a Killer who stays very close to the hook, but hides from both the would-be rescuers and the person on the hook. They usually use both terrain and Perks. They don't want to discourage rescues; they are using bait.
    3. Camper: This Killer isn't staying right next to the hook. He/she is making a series of short range patrols, never going too far that they cannot get back quickly if they get a rescue notification, or see a Survivor making a rescue run. This allows the Killer to keep up some Generator pressure, and invites the most attempts at rescue.

My point is having the three definitions above serves an in-game purpose, i.e. allowing Survivors to know details, to adjust their tactics. It has value. I don't believe what YOU are wanting to do has value. It is just another attempt to codify the Survivor's Rulebook for Killers.

So again, I ask you WHY? What purpose are you seeking to serve? Most of the things you are intending to define or redefine have already been stated are valid, legal tactics that a Killer can choose to employ. That means they are legitimate and above our judgement. Only "Bullying" stands apart in your list, and we already know the definition of it. It is already against the rules. Being obnoxious is a reportable offense. Your very act of lumping Bullying in with legal tactics shows your bias too. Do you see my point?

I believe that since these are legit strategies they should be defined. i do see your point, after all i did vote your message up.

'' Your point in defining them seems to be, like so many others, to lay judgement on the tactics chosen.'' i believe this is incorrect. i wanna avoid confusion, mostly, but i do admit that i wanna justify my actions more easily vs toxic survivors, so a definition will make things quicker.

''quick communication in a match'' also correct, i suppose.

But basically what you proposed are also definitions, arent they? So if mine dont have values, doesnt it apply to yours as well?

''Most of the things you are intending to define or redefine have already been stated are valid, legal tactics that a Killer can choose to employ''

Youre so incorrect on the first one. They dont have a clear definition at ALL. Scott has made an interesting video about this, i suggest checking it out. I dont believe any of this should be reportable, ive made a post myself declaring that some months ago.

and i never said that the killer SHOULDNT employ these tactics, did i? I just dont want to be called a filthy camper when i follow the survivor rule book.

but i do thank you for your feedback :)

  • @dspaceman20 said:

Why do you limit the definition of bullying only too survivors? Killers can legitimately be bullies as well.

correct! thanks for pointing out. But the only thing killers can do to bm, basically shake their heads and hit you on hook. So im not in position to accurately describe the ''killers being bullied''

can you give your own definition to assist me?

    Deal

  • It really depends on a lot of things, for example what's the killer? If it's a bubba I'm not even going to try. If I have a challenge or if that survivor helped me and I stayed alive. If they predrop every pallet and they get downed in that side of the map I'm not going to try to save them.

If a killer is facecamping and it's a 2v1 there are little to no chances to have a 2man escape. If you have bt it might be manageable, but still it's really difficult

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/221664/why-is-hag-so-hated-by-the-survivors

Well you answered your own question.

She's fun for you as killer. But she isn't fun for survivors because her traps work on every loops, she has incredible map pressure, she's a camping ######### and really she is just a super annoying killer to go against.

If you get hooked you might as well just #########. She's going to camp the hell out of you and you are all just going to die. If you are brought to the basement just turn the game off. You are not getting out of there alive.

She has obvious weaknesses to Urban Evasion and Flashlights, but who plays with Urban Evasion? And it's not a hard counter either, or even a good one. Scrubs bring UE but at red ranks almost nobody does, and most people don't bring flashlights, and good luck getting one in a chest. And unlike Spirit, since Hag is very rare to go up against most people do not spec to take her on, and if you aren't specced to handle hag you are going to have a hard time.

We're not even getting to her addons, like the stealth teleport where you don't even know you ran over a trap. Or the one where she can teleport to any trap freely. Even the body block addon is annoying and she can even screw you over and cut you off from the map. And that Ruin spawned in a corner? GG you are never blowing it.

Traps in general are annoying because you have to look where you go and it's a pain. But at least with trapper his traps are easy to see. Hag's traps are pretty much invisible on most maps. So you can only rely on map knowledge to predict where her traps are.

Hag is one of the most annoying killers in the game and frankly is unhealthy for the game. She is right up there with Nurse to be honest in power. I actually prefer versing Nurse over Hag. Not saying she's easy or an insta-win, she requires a lot of knowledge to pull off right, but there is nothing enjoyable about fighting her.

Most hag players just play in really annoying ways and take the fun out of the game entirely. Fun for the hag player I'm sure but it's just tedium for survivors.

All in all though Hag is one of those killers where if you are on a strong map she is unstoppable. On other maps she's manageable but no matter what map, it's always a pain to verse her, even on a map like Rotten Fields.

I actually have never used the infinite range addon because I feel that it's going to be really bad, since my playstyle doesn't support going through the whole map.

I agree that the hook strategy is a bit too strong, but I usually just trap once, maybe twice if I know they're going to run into a jungle gym or something.

    Thanks for letting me know

  • Soz I'm trying to get passed my addiction with spine chill, so I'm trying new things. Windows of opportunity is my new, second favorite perk, i still can't get passed spine chill (send help ;-;)

But I feel it's too bland tbh, it's just a somewhat informational perk, good players probably don't need this. So I'd like to have something more into it, like when you vault a window/drop a pallet in chase you get the killer's aura revealed for x seconds. That way you'll be able to plan ahead.

As for killer, I'm really into totem builds, but retribution doesn't really do anything important when not cleansed, it just punishes survivors for cleansing dull totems, but why cleanse dull totems in the first place? I want hexes to be strong alone, so they won't need to have it paired with something else. So I'd change it to, maybe, whenever the survivors cleanse a totem their aura is revealed and they get exhausted, or blindness+ exhaustion. But it's definitely not underpowered combined with haunted. One of my favorite combos

  • I actually think that rusty shackles aren't as bad as people think. Don't get me wrong I think it still needs a nerf, but looking in a more in-depth analysis of hag's unique playstyle, it actually removes some unique interactions with the traps. For example, you can place traps so when a survivor is running in a straight line, they're forced to look on the trap and change direction.

But yeah, a rework of that add-on is necessary.

"I love playing against a nurse because it feels so good when you juke a good one, or bully a bad one."

The second part of that sentence is why new killers leave and don't come back.

It's great to be proud when you out-maneuverer or out-think a good opponent. It's utter trash to realise that an opponent isn't at your skill level and bully them.

When playing survivor you feel more accomplished when you outsmart your opponent. When I outsmart a nurse, I do feel good I'm not going to deny that. This game rewards time and effort, in most situations. So if new players don't try, fail and learn, then what's the point of complaining?

Also I doubt I mentioned bullying. As an immersed gamer (name) I don't really enjoy getting found, most of the times. If I'm found, I'll try to stay alive. I don't really understand if you're calling me trash for feeling good when I outsmart a bad nurse, because if that's the case I'm impressed, because I almost never bully any "baby" killer, I just do my job, trying to survive. Should I just, stand still and let them hit me so they can feel good about themselves? We're in a really weird situation right now because the community hasn't really define the word "bullying" in this game, and it's not the only one (camping for example).

So if by "bullying" you mean repeatedly outsmarting and looping a killer of lower rank, then I guess I'm bullying new killers.

If by "bullying" you mean repeatedly annoying the killer by tbagging, following them and flashlight clicking, then I guess I'm the exact opposite of that

so basically, a good killer player make it feel like tere is no counter play to the killer, therefore the killer is boring....

    OKAY

Is this really what you took from my post? I said that a good deathslinger feels uncounterable. Scott has actually made a pretty good video that goes into detail about this. When you're in a loop with a deathslinger, basically, if you don't get hit by his power it's not that you dodged perfectly, it's mostly that the desthslinger missed. It doesn't feel fulfilling at all.

A good nurse isn't boring, for me at least, because it's remarkable how well they predict. As I said, I find good hags really fun to play. But a good, hell a mediocre freddy or twins are the most boring ######### you can go against, especially when they're running only slowdown (forever Freddy)

Hope I was clear enough this time

  • Nope, there's a difference between good killers and boring killers. For example I LOVE playing against a nurse because it feels so good when you juke a good one, or bully a bad one. BUT I despise going against freddy, not because he's broken but because he's one of the most boring killers to go against, especially forever Freddy.

Twins are also a great example, they're not even close to op, but they're so boring to go against, since 90% just camp the hook and get rewarded for it.

Do people hate spirit? Yes, because stridor spirit is literally uncounterable. Do people hate pyramid head? Yes, because it feels that you can't do anything sometimes. Do people hate deathslinger? Yes, because a good deathslinger is ######### annoying to go against. But:

People don't hate the nurse, arguably the strongest killer in the game.

Neither hag (well most of them, I've been trashtalked for playing hag). She's strong as hell in the right hands.

What do you mean, if? I started my first thread about colorblind support 2,5 years ago. BUT i understood that you could not implement it on the fly because it could be abused to an uninteded result. So i waited, and now it will come.

I just want a system thats not easily abused. Why is that a problem for you? I mean, i asked you a question, and you didnt even answer.

Can you specifiy what kind of visibility problem we are talking about? Because there might be different solutions, depending on the problem.

I'm unsure if people with Nyctalopia will heavily be affected in this situation, I'm not a doctor but nyctalopia is the first one that came in mind, even tho that it's a bit of overkill since people with this decease won't be interested in playing videogames, since their daytime vision will possibly also be affected in the long run. I could do some research about other similar eye conditions, because again, overkill, but I'm pretty sure we'll find some conditions. Of course, again, I'm not a scientist or a doctor, so I'm the least qualified person to do this research, but we can give it a try.

Speaking about eye deceases in a dbd forum is the last thing I'd expect. Oh well

And how do you want to compensate for people abusing it? Whats your idea for that? It gives an unfair advantage, aka cheats, so how to handle that, in your opinion?

Would you prefer to remove it for everyone and have people not being able to play the game properly? How would you feel if you had visibility problems and had extreme difficulty on this dark environment? I'm not saying that it can't be abused, I'm saying that it should remain for the people that wanna be able to play the game.

I'm not a fan of these filters, and I know that Hunt Showdown disabled the ability to use them - thinking specifically of the the Nvidia ones. I think it destroys a huge element of the game personally.

I agree with you mandy, but there are people that use filters because they're forced to, due to visibility problems (I have a friend of two with these). If they make it bannable they'll destroy every bits of trust with the dbd community imo

  • No it shouldn't, people with visibility problems will be affected by this, and it will feel more unfair for them to not be able to play dbd because of that rule.

Even if it is against the rules, the only people that will be affected by this are content creators, since that will be the only way to proof that someone is using a filter. So you basically make a rule against content creators

I can imagine doing it with Charlotte, and just having Victor staring at you the entire time.

    Should I call the fbi?
