It's fun with Kindred or Windows of Oppertunity
Next mid-chapter, open handed + windows will be 48M with no cooldown. Pretty cool!
-
Tinkerer is okay on 80% of the roster
On Blight it's the most boring thing, because it turns from DBD to 'use lethal rush to run at generators'. It's so boring and predictable
-
Myers doesn't speed across the map while being invisible at a certain distance. His Terror radius, while possible to be made small - can only be shrunk so much and it's still large in Tier 3 (Which you can't even use with vanity mirror)
The addon removed the possibility of stealth and made mindgaming almost impossible against the wraith (At least in my opinion). The reduced range I'm sure will help
-
You know, I just realised something kind of ironic
So a lot of us complained about totem spots, about how easy they were to find for survivors on most maps so then we got the reworks which added in a ton of hard to find totems. Lery's being the prime example
Now survivors can use those annoying totem spots against the killer
Damn.
-
you should add this video that was posted by another forum goer who's name escapes me since it's techincally a change that was made in the PTB:

I dont think so i think you got it a little confused but i think i kinda see what you thought
Your idea is a map that has a lot of closed doors that open up as gens get done right?
Or did I misunderstand something, lemme know!
-
This is kinda what The Game already does I think?
It has some weird results
-
I wouldn't mind this element so much if it wasn't for the fact that chain RNG exists
You control where the first chain comes from but the subsequent ones are seemingly random
-
Indoor maps can be fun, but the problem with them at the moment is they are so heavily tilted to one sides favour
Either you're on The Game where it's pallet town galore for Survivor
Or it's Hawkins/Midwich the maps where there's barely any good tiles to use and the gameplay becomes more about just running from one side to the other (At least, more than usual).
There's no good balance of an indoor map that's fair for both sides. At least, not yet.
And no RPD doesn't count, a map being bad for both sides for the most part doesn't make it balanced
-
Hopefully the positive feedback this mid-chapter got is a big signal that we want more of this going forward!
-
The image of Charlotte carrying around her deceased brother every day of her life is just tragic.

IIRC this was actually pre DBDs release so I could see some of these being VERY early designs for Billy or Hag or Nurse.
You know, maybe the Clawer was meant to be like - What the entity looks like? They share some similaritiies
Also Blister-head might've been a Teacher concept.
-
A little while ago there was a bug that made the killer's POV chase music match that of the survivor when it came to killers with their own chase/theme music. This was ofc most noticeable on Demogorgon and Oni.
I think the developers left it in as they prefered it this way and made all other subsequent chase musics the same on both sides from that point onward. Either that, or it was an intentional change and not a bug that was left in
-
The feeder looks kinda like Victor even though it predates him by a long time
-
It feels like the developers are trying to have their cake and eat it too with the SBMM system
they don't want people to know/want to define a 'win condition' because they probably believe that subtracts from their personal vision of the game/spirit of the game. Like that interview where I think the product manager said 'If you're having fun a 1k can be a win'. Obviously I'm paraphrasing a bit but yeah
At the same time they also want players to be matched by their "skill" and what their internal system defines as "skill". Rumours say that the system only rates players based on how many escapes/kills they get and how long a match was. Not really the most accurate definition of skill at all really
-
Alcoholic maybe
-
He's in the game already
Franklin's Demise 🙃
-
I don't sweat it.
The early gens go quick on most maps without corrupt. Sometimes even with corrupt
Plus, with certain builds - the game isn't exactly over when all the gens get done. No way out for example :)
-
Actually glad to hear about this
I got it the first time around but it was such a massive pain.
-
As far as we know, MMR/SBMM doesn't reset. Only 'Grade' does.
MMR only goes up/down based on the matches you play

It is perfectly fine. You can be unhooked and be running towards the door and have to open the door which could be 99'ed to escape and the Killer is still on you. Deactivating it doesn't make sense. One thing I will say though is I think it is poorly coded, as opening a door counts as 'unlocking' as does the action for a chest and unlocking a chest also does not deactivate DS (where personally, I think it should).
In conclusion; not deactivating when opening a door is fine and working as intended.
I don't think unlocking chests should deactivate DS tbh
unlocking chests doesn't progress the game in any way for the most part.
-
Hopefully we get some kind of response/update on the cheating situation in the Q&A stream
I'll be mildy upset if we don't :(
-
Anytime some self proclaimed 'comp' or 'ex-comp' player loses and challenges me to a 1v1 I always find it a bit weird. 1v1s in DBD when you take out the other elements are dumb
run to pallet, drop pallet instantly and play around it. Rinse and repeat until the killer eventually gets you
Gives me a good laugh every time though.

DS is commonly used to refer to Decisive Strike. I've never seen someone say it to refer to Deathslinger. Usually people just say Slinger.
Well now you have!

Right, overtuned him by reducing his uncloaking speed from 2ms to 1.6ms and thus making his biggest weakness - chase - even bigger.
Don't blame me, I didn't make the change
I'm just saying how I would have worded it if I was Peanits or whoever wrote the dev note
-
The person who wrote that dev note really messed up I think
If it were me, I would've written something along the lines of:
"The recent buffs to the Wraith have exceeded our expectations, we decided that we may have overtuned him a tiny bit - therefore we're adjusting a problematic addon and reducing his post-uncloak lunge speed to what it was before his last buff. We will continue to monitor him going forward."
there, not that hard was it?

Yeah but that's not an abbreviation. It's supposed to be misspelled. Lmao.
I thought we were pointing out things that don't matter
If someone sees the abbreviation 'DS' in a thread about Deathslinger, pretty sure they'll know what it means because context

Deathslinger is 1 word. Decisive Strike is 2. So it would be D, not DS. They obviously meant Decisive Strike.
Your forum name is spelled wrong, Richard doesn't have a 1 or a 4 in it and Nixon doesn't have a 1 or a 0 in it. There is also no underscore there
-
Tamperered Timer and the other annoying addons deserved to be nerfed
Playing pig normally is one thing but it's been semi-popularised to do things like send yourself to indoor maps like RPD and Midwich constantly by certain people

well she's balanced until 4 survivors bring medkits. Then you're really getting it in the endgame chat
I like to think of the brightside
If I have a medkit and it's a plague, I use them on people when they get slugged.
-
Tomorrow
-
Hopefully more people start playing her, she's one of the most balanced killers in the game but nobody plays her
😟

Did Johnny Boy get a new voice recently? I am newer, so I just figured he always had it. Not that I could tell, I never see that character... I have only seen it like twice since the Stranger Things announcement.
It was added only recently!
-
There are rumours that we are getting new Silent Hill content in the next set of cosmetics! We might get voices for those characters then
If not, I'm sure eventually they will. Johnathan got one and Stranger Things is leaving in November

Giving Deathslinger a lullaby wouldn't fix the issue that he still has 18m max range.
But M&A gets overhated. It's only good in situations where Deathslinger lacks line of sight and outside of corn he can't shoot you without LoS.
I understand your POV but the reason they increased his TR is because of M&A. If they are going to do this change then a lullaby is fairer for both sides. As it stands, changing the TR like this favours survivor way more imo

To be honest, this pretty much looks like a bug, because a lullaby wouldn't be removed within 16m by Trail of Torment. I have seen an oblivious (not the status effect) huntress camping me at a hook with Insidious, and I could hear her humming from close range. This "ring lullaby" somehow doesn't seem intended
It must be intentional because the developers have intentionally left it in, they are aware of it and it wasn't fixed/removed when Trickster got his buffs
The developers also referenced it directly in their post:
"The Deathslinger is the only ranged Killer that does not have a "lullaby", which meant terror radius reducing perks like Monitor & Abuse could allow you to get close enough to surprise and hit a Survivor without them getting any warning whatsoever. "
Altho this statement is a bit weird because there are other ranged killers like Plague or Pyramid Head but yea

"The other ranged killers" ...
How exactly is everyone thinking that Trickster has a lullaby?
Here, this video should show you
-
I have a better idea
Leave his TR as 24m, give him a lullaby like the other ranged killers
By making this TR 32M they have made monitor and abuse REQUIRED and monitor will make slingers TR 24M, which is what it is rn
pointless

That was a typo, there is a PTB this week. I've gone ahead and updated the post.
Well that's a relief
Many thanks
-
90% of the time I feel bad, it sucks and sometimes quite simply - the deck was stacked against them. Map RNG being the main culrpit of this
The other 10% is when the killer gives up because one thing doesn't go their way; like losing their ruin early or not being able to immediately catch the 1st survivor they chase.
Listen I know losing ruin sucks but you shouldn't bring a hex perk and expect it to not get cleansed.

Yeah I was hiding behind the exit gates since there is a new cheat apparently where all the survivors instantly heal when hit and it turned out I accidentally forced a hacker out, because he teleported on top of me and out of the exit gates lol. Though sadly there were 2 hackers this game, one I meet often and another that plays with him. I am sure if I showed the name people would be like oh that guy.
Ahahahaha
You actually played the cheater so hard

Basement Bubba is a decent way to get reactions without hacking. You probably get better ones too, because lots of people genuinely believe face camping is worse than hacking.
Listen I'm not gonna call Basement bubba fun or anything like that
But at least it's within the rules of the game.
Also, it seems most cheaters are playing survivor while doing it - at least from what I've seen. Cheating killers do exist, ofc. Literally encountered a cheating ghostface a couple of months ago

Oh my... That's just messed up. Imagine you're getting recorded and reported because some cheater made you get up like a puppet everytime you get downed making it look like you're the cheater.
I really hope this stuff has high priority for BHVR.
Yep, it's ridiculous.
Some cheaters are also setting out to hold games hostage for as long as possible - I've seen some streamers be held hostage for hours + A friend of mine was held hostage for half an hour. Something like that
Sure you could just DC if you've got better things to do, alternatively just alt-tab and waste the cheaters time
-

I've seen something similar on a stream yesterday. A guy had no hex perks but a hacker gave him multiple Ruin totems throughout the match. At some point it got cleansed and a minute later gens was suddenly automatically regressing again and totems started glowing even though the killer has no hex equipped. Crazy stuff.
Cheating kids really have full control at the moment. Hopefully there's a fix on the way.
I've read some things about the client that some of the cheaters use, apparently it can do things like make other survivors complete generators instantly, heal everyone to full health and so on.
I really hope BHVR does something about this, because I worry it might lead to people not cheating getting banned by mistake.
-
Here are some perks that help prevent bodyblocking:
- Save the Best for last (From The Shape). The decreased hit cooldown works while carrying
- Mad Grit (From Legion): No cooldown on missed attacks while carrying + hits pause the wiggle timer
- Starstruck (From Trickster) While carrying someone, anyone in your Terror Radius will go down instantly
- Agitation (From Trapper) You will move faster than a survivor while carrying someone, making it easier to get past them/hit them

Yeah possibly. I really don't get the mindset of people who cheat.
script kiddies who are either dissatisfied with the current state of the game, looking to get reactions from people since they thrive off it or maybe they're so bad they want to cheat to make themselves feel good.
some cheaters are so bad at the game they still die/lose even with their little scripts/client or whatever they use. A friend of mine had a lagswitcher and bled them out. Funny stuff
-
Run Aftercare and Borrowed Time
Eventually you'll get it
-
That sounds like you were paired with a cheater who was just trying to grief the killer and the killer probably just wanted to get the cheater and not care about the game
-
Could you stop making the same thread over and over please
