I think his FOV being messed up made him really hard to play
You couldn't see over most of the loops in most maps, which is obviously important
-
remember that person you hit on the hook that one time?
That was senior developer Bhvr Bhvrson.
Ever since then, you've been on the list...
(You are right tho, BRING BACK THE NARRATOR)

Not all people try to be toxic with map offerings. I usually bring one if I get terrible maps like Hawkins into RPD into Midwich into Hawkins again, and then I'm like, "okay... I want to go to Coldwind or MacMillian..." I never do the really bad maps like Red Forest, RPD, Haddonfield, etc.
But I get when people get upset by map offerings, because many times it isn't just to get off all the bad maps.
I think people should just roll with what the game gives them, personally
Getting Cowshed or Rotten fields randomly sucks, but it happens
Getting Cowshed or Rotten fields because of an offering is infuriating.
That being said, If either side burns a more balanced realm, I won't complain. Macmillan for example, I love that realm.

For killer yeah, I feel like some form of gen defense is needed. Not 100% always necessary on all killers but in 90% of matches it is likely needed.
For survivor, I like to challenge myself to play without the typical meta perks. Mostly out of trying to make myself better since after a while I feel like it becomes less about my skill at running the killer and more about how I use those perks. I do end up returning to use perks like Dead Hard and Decisive because with MMR sometimes it feels like without them if you make one mistake - you are done for the rest of the game.
When I'm trying to do better without those perks, I typically run perks that assist me - Window of Oppertunity is the main perk my practice build is centered around as I use it to understand the areas around me and avoid going down in 2 seconds to dead zones.

Blight, Huntress, FREDDY RECENTLY and Nurse. Seriously, what's up with all of the Freddys all of a sudden?
His pallet addons got fixed so I guess people went back to playing him for a bit
-
I don't believe so
the blast mine stun is 4 seconds regardless I believe
-
Makes him look more like a horror character so I prefer it
also the P3 head looks really cool imo, the fact the blood stains his hair a bit
-
What an embarrassment
-
Haddonfield, Ormond, Springwood, Last Mask, Coldwind
When survivors send you here, they know what they are doing
and likewise when killers burn indoor map offerings like Hawkins, it's typically because they know the map's to their favour
And for the record I don't 'take my frustrations' out, I just don't play nice when I see a map offering because to me that's a sign that the survivors are playing to win, so I will do the same in turn.
-
Learn more about both sides watching people play Killer
But I also find killer gameplay is simply more entertaining because they are always in the fun part of DBD (chases).

Map offerings make you face camp and tunnel?? What??
isn't this thread talking about unfair things people do in this game?
people using map offerings to tilt the game in their favour is and it's gross as hell
Also to answer your question, yeah - a Killer sent to a bad map is more likely to do things you mentioned if you ask me. Personally I have no mercy on map offering users.
-
Best part is I think it's bugged
I got the challenge and I don't even remember how or why but it certainly had nothing to do with me using the perk, or pallet saving/flashlight saving someone

Bugged Survivor on old Coldwind.
They didn't want me to win and I said okay I'll wait
I'm genuinely surprised BHVR has not added a thing that just auto-ends a match after a certain while
Also - my longest match was probably this one time I was SoloQing and it was against a Freddy on Suffo Pit. As you can imagine, he had a three gen on one side of the map and nobody was dead so it became a stalemate. It went on for so long I was practically begging for it to just be over but eventually we powered through it and won in the end
But man was it a drag.
-
Remove map offerings
Survivors players abuse them
Killer players abuse them
They have no reason to exist.

That makes sense. That's some nerd ######### though if you're thinking that competitively about the game.
Some people will do anything for an advantage
stretched res, extremely bright nintendo 3ds filters, DCing for the reasons I mentioned and so on
-
Funnily enough, I've actually seen people do this to negate killer's getting stuff like pop from hooks
Think about it, you're dead on hook and about to die and you know your friends are on the last gen - if you DC right before you get hooked the killer can't pop the gen
It's such a disgusting thing to do, but I've seen it happen.
-
There's some inconsistancies with how perks and powers interact, it's worth mentioning
For example: Blindness does not remove the auras of power-related things like Jigsaw boxes, Vaccine cases and so on. Undetectable doesn't remove the lullaby of Huntress and perks that affect skillchecks do not affect things that survivors need to do like snapping out of it or doing jigsaw boxes
In theory, this is so that perks do not upset the intended balance of those mechanics. Pinhead not being able to see where the Lament Configuration is located is an intentional design decision to the point where the addon that lets him see it, literally neuters part of his power in exchange
Now we have Hoarder and it's unique interactions with vaccines and the box. Are these intentional? Def not. I understand why people want them to stay as they add more reason to use a perk that by all other margins is completely useless. It is a bit of variety but it IS worth discussing because it's a design flaw nonetheless
The survivor who has the box not being instantly known to PH until they start solving is the intended design but Hoarder completely nullifies that.
-
They are in the store!
What you need to do in order to see them is go to their store and then click on the 'torso' section. They should be in there.
-
That would be the 'Lifeguard whistle' addon
In future if you're looking for a certain addon, the DBD wiki has them all listed!
-
My suggestions:
Swap dark sense for either Alert (if you have it) or Spine Chill. They are much better and more reliable information perks that will help you a lot more. Alert will help you keep track of the killer's location as well as what pallets are broken and so on. Spine chill will give you an early warning when the killer is getting closer to you
As for Prove Thyself, if stealth's your thing - you could try Quick and Quiet; it's not a super amazing perk but it might help you in a pinch and let you get away with quickly vaulting over something when the killer's getting closer. Fast Vaulting into lockers to quickly hide yourself is also an idea.
I would recommend Iron will, but it's a meta perk but to be honest - it's mostly meta for it's usage in chase. The stealth is just an added bonus
-
Out of curiosity, what was the last thing people said would kill DBD?
-
@WTBacon said:
Deception was changed to also hide blood.
If the in-game description doesn't say this, BHVR must have forgotten to update it.
Is this in a patch note somewhere? If you have a link It'd be much appreciated
I'll probably make a bug report about this since the perks desc lacking such crucial information isn't great!

No that's not true at all unless you're the lowest MMR gen speeds are insane at a lot of levels and it's miserable being at the MMR where this happens the problem is if you're good you will always stay in this MMR.
Well the way I see it, it is physically impossible to defend 5 gens if the survivors play well. The first few gens typically go quickly because survivors have all their resources available, they are far away from you and you can only chase 1 person at a time
The topic of gen speeds is a conflicting one because it's never going to change the fact that, for the most part, most killers cannot pressure all 4 survivors at once without certain killers, playstyles or perks.
So what's the solution? Make gens take longer? 80 seconds for a solo survivor is long if you ask me. You could make the gens 160 seconds each but if the killer can't catch anyone/still has to chase 1 person at at time they are still going to lose gens.
-
Isn't the whole point of MMR/SBMM that if you can't handle those insane gen speeds that you mentioned, that you won't be matched with players of that caliber and those players will be put with people who CAN handle it (I.E people who main the S tier killers with strong perks/addons)
Not saying I'm a fan of MMR but, yeah. Am I missing something?
-
In all likelyhood, survivors and killers will likely need to do 'something' throughout the course of a match to be able to mori/use keys outside of perks
Personally I'm all for both going/being implemented in a better fashion. Especially keys. If we were talking about old mori's I'd be celebrating but mori's are as useless as fog offerings now for killer so yeah
I hope it's some kind of new fun dynamic because the standard gameplay has gotten a bit stale, nothing has really shook up how the game's played and that's upsetting.

And the mmr meant nothing until the reset, as you were still getting games by rank rather than mmr.
That's not how it went
Matchmaking since the 8th has been determined by player MMR. The grades are completely meaningless and they were reset because in the new system everyone gets reset back to the lowest so there's incentive to keep playing and get the highest reward next month
But ever since the twitter post I linked, matchmaking has been determined by SBMM.

Console woes. Sucks to hear
On PC I find he's tolerable, not exactly amazing but tolerable and def fun to play

I'd say he did a pretty good job.
I have problems with BHVR's decision making and so on but Mcote is a treasure.

I'd have to test to be sure, but the wiki is usually accurate so i'd say it's true.
If it's true, then the perk might be better than I initially gave it credit for
The text in game has no mention of blood which is very odd!
-
Blighted Michael or Leatherface would actually be really sick
Would never happen, but imagine...
-
Thanks for showing this, I may make use of this knowledge in my matches; both as Surv and Killer.
-
I believe this is intentional, the laceration meter doesn't automatically go away when you are put into the dying state, it's just that whenever you M1 someone or down them using blades; the laceration meter is usually depleted automatically by those actions
This seems like a neat 'tech' of sorts that you've discovered here.
-
I disagree
Bodyblocking is one of the few things you can do to protect teammates who are getting tunnelled/are dead on hook
BT bodyblocking is annoying, though I agree but then you're basically being given an okay to tunnel that person so... Yeah.

Because a pallet stun occurs when the pallet is roughly 50% of the way dropped, the stun does not start on the initial drop.
In the video linked there, by the time the pallet was in the 50% position - the killer was well away. If you notice when the pick up happens, the survivor is already at the end of the stun range.
If that's the case, you shouldn't be able to drop pallets if it's not going to guarantee a stun (with PS)
Before the reverse pallet stun change, this never happened - if power struggle went off, the stun was guaranteed because in order to be in range of the pallet to drop it, the killer had to be in stun range.
I get that it's likely an unintended side effect of the pallet change, but maybe the perk needs changing then?
-
@Mandy said:
It definitely still works, I've used it myself. In that clip that you've put there, you are too far away when the pallet is dropped so the killer is out of stun range.
How can you drop a pallet with power struggle and not have it stun the killer?
-
But hey here's the silver lining
If you're going against cheaters, you should be flatterered
the SBMM system thinks you're on par with them lmao
-
Funnily enough, after I watched Otz face one yesterday I also ended up going against one
It wasn't the the noclipping, hostage taking kind of cheater - it was the kind of cheater that tries to hide their cheats until the end. They also had hacked items with addons they shouldn't have
-
It's a constant bug
There's also a bug where putting down your final trap as trapper plays the item drop sound LOL
-
I really hope this dude is the next original killer
That design is soooo good.
-
There's some rumours that we might see some variations of it at some point
Here's hoping it fixes some of the design problems because holy hell I love how the map looks and all the details, as an RE fan it was so great to see. The safe room music, the zombies at the windows and so on
Shame it doesn't translate well to DBD gameplay

Lol, he wants swf tells. - this the type of thing that shows his killer sided mind
Bring back seeing survivor level, or even show mmr.
For sure wont cause lobby dodge infestation xD
While I don't really agree with some of the things Scott says, he legitmately gets called 'Survivor-sided'
idk it's better to criticise the ideas and not the person saying them, trying to discredit people like that ain't right
-
Yeah there's a visual bug with PH's Punishment of the Damned right now
He puts his sword down visually much slower (it doesn't affect the actual timing, it's purely cosmetic)
Until it gets fixed, a workaround is just listen for the sound of the blade hitting the floor, since that is accurate. It's just the sword animation that's bugged
-
That is 100% the right play
Trying to be altruistic against facecampers is what they want and how they get kills. Do the gens and leave
-
Surge + Eruption isn't crazy good, but it's a great way to stack up 'damage generator' score events for archive challenges
That's what I use it for

Yeah I played four survivor matches tonight, and after getting decimated in the first three matches, it's almost like the game threw me a bone in the last match. My teammates were rather competent and we managed to all escape. Again I'm a casual player, but I do play survivor more than killer but I'm no means a veteran at this game. It was definitely a sweatfest, so much so that I almost want to play killer Non-Stop.
I played a killer match one of the worst maps in the game for killer
I had 100% more fun than any of the survivor matches I've played tonight
This MMR system is a joke.
-
more fun than survivor
survivor has been disgusting and not fun at all
