Well honestly, there are a lot of double standards about things like this
Remember when a lot of content creators were decrying that killers like Deathslinger and Pyramid Head were 'boring' and 'had no counterplay' because their main way of getting you is when you are locked in an animation like window vaulting
Except the fact they never criticised Huntress for the same thing. Double Standard
I do think Iron Will is very strong for what it is, there are some small 'counters' to it. I'll list a few very specific examples:
- Killers like Plague and Nemesis completely counter it, because they have powers that cause coughing - which Iron will does nothing against. Clown and Doctor also have ways of countering Iron will, just not as effectively.
- Killers who have insta-downs don't have to worry about it as much since they will be ignoring the injured state entirely (Unless survivors choose not to heal)
- Niche perks like Bloodhound, I'm All Ears and so on can mitigate it to a certain degree.
-
Has to be Chris
Chris has intricate knowledge of hand to hand combat, to the point he wrote an entire field manual about close range combat
David would get a good sucker punch in though.
-
Gens
Having faced these kinds of huntress players myself (The ones who hook someone, go to a decent distance and then raise their hatchet and wait), if everyone pushes out gens - they will ultimately lose in the end
Treat it like you're playing against facecamping cannibal

I still don't see the reason, why not just run pop and not waste a spot on surge then spend that spot on something actually worthwhile, when i play against a killer with surge and they use it im like ok, and just hop back on it, its just a bad perk.
I disagree, I don't think Surge is a bad perk.
I use it on my legion, I get pretty decent use out of it in most of my games - helps keep the pace up since I don't have to kick every gen I come across that has progress if I down someone near one.
the 8% regression could mean the difference between the gen getting popped, as well. People also pair it with Thana which makes gen regression perks hurt even more.
Overall, it's not the best perk but for Legion it's pretty good. Saves you time, helps control some gens.
-
Few reasons
It's used in conjunction with Pop. You can only down people using M1, so you can use surge to hit gens close to you then use a tracking perk to use Pop in a more crucial moment
I don't wanna say Otz 'popularised' it, but he certainly recommended it quite a lot and used it in his streak video and in his guides/tutorials if I'm not mistaken
It's not a bad perk for m1 killers! It just sucks on a lot of killers who can down using their power.

Clown, no contest

Dear Philip
I wrote you but you still ain't calling

Been watching a youtube series where someone essentially narrates the Hellraiser comics
Would recommend it

Well rumour has it that we are getting new silent hill content coming next mid-chapter
If there was any time for it to happen, it'll likely be then!

That's not the only pallet change. They did update the hitbox for reverse stuns and that probably messed up the dream pallets.
Yeah would make more sense
-
It should be Jeff
At least then people will acknowledge he exists
-
I know Mclean said on stream there's no spaghetti code, but
There's something hilarious about them updating the pallet model/texture (that nobody asked for I might add) or whatever and somehow that results in Freddy getting stunned by fake pallets
I'm not saying that's 100% what causes it but I'd like to imagine that's why it happened.
-
I'm sorry, did you not READ my post?
I said that we've been saying BHVR need to focus on game health for years, but they are insistent on not doing it
And that this time, it's even worse because the chapter we've been given has barely any content

Ah yes, all of the cheaters on console.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2478217#Comment_2478217
I assume so.
Well, it'd make sense why they did it for steam family share but maybe in doing so it did it for other platforms
It's the only reasonable explanation I can think of, maybe BHVR just messed up big again

Yes, it works with any game or add-on to said game.
I gameshare with my younger brother so that he can use my Xbox Live subscription. My friend gameshares with me, so I get his Game Pass subscription. It only works one way though. You can't just infinitely share games. For example, because my friend bought CoD Ghosts back in 2014 off of the Xbox Store, I have it. My brother doesn't though, because I don't own it, I'm only sharing it with my friend.
Alright then I believe they may have done something to prevent this from happening, Some games on steam, for example cannot be steam family shared in an effort to curb cheating and ban evasion
With the onslaught of cheaters lately maybe BHVR tried to do the same

Gameshare is an Xbox feature that allows you to basically share games with one other friend. It is officially recognized and supported by Microsoft. It's an intended feature and it has always worked before this patch.
In short, it's allowed and encouraged.
So it's basically like steam family share? Does it work with DLCs too?
Something tells me they may have intentionally disabled such a thing to stop people sharing DLCs
-
What's game share?

I'm not sure about you but I haven't seen blight's aura reading addon since it got nerfed.
Yeah I don't think it's a popular addon, but it's by no means completely terrible. Seeing survivors within 8 meters of a bump location is much fairer than the version we had on Blight's debut
I'd also say it's outclassed by his other popular addons, namely the rush cooldown, alchemist ring and the speed addons.
People who play Blight typically don't struggle with tracking survivors, they usually have perks to help with that

Oh I can, I just gave up on this game when all they worry about is pleasing swf, why you think survivors have twice as many cosmetics than killers lol. Always gotta please the majority. I just come in these forums to see survivor main complain about literally every killer and trust me no killer is safe from the complaints of survivor mains. Pig op, Myers op, wraith op, blight op, billy op, pyramid head op, trickster op, they even complain about nemesis zombies lol what a joke of a community. No wonder the player base is to low to fix this game, have fun with them 20 min survivor queues
Okay
But all I said was I think one of Wraith's addons is unbalanced
-
Feel like it'd be cool to post this thing that @PixelBush made since I had no idea this was how victor's pounce hitbox actually worked
Would also explain why Victor sometimes bounces off of literally nothing since Huntress hatchets do that too
-
On most killers it's fine.
On certain killers it's unbearable to go against

But if you say that, idk, Dead Hard should be toned down you're a cherry picking killer main
You absolutely cannot win with this community, ever
It's the antagonism that gets me.
It's okay to think all of my opinions are cold garbage but don't act like I'm trying to push some malicious agenda where I want all killer mains to suffer
it happens tho

you can’t pick and choose, either all wall hacks are fine or it’s not. Tbh I don’t mind deleting all wall hacks if it stop you survivors mains to stop cherry-picking what make killers unique and fun
This is why people don't believe the DBD community is capable of discussion regarding balance
You say your opinion on a single addon, and all of a sudden
"You are cherry-picking survivor main"

But keys got map wide range and survivors can stack them compared to wraith all seeing which is only 12m. He does have a down side, he can’t attack when cloaked and is a m1 killer, just camp pallets especially they buffed pallet camping for survivors by giving killers fake hits. Spine chill and sprint burst are good against any killer, just run when the scared cat light up and camp a pallet or window. What can a m1 killer do against pallet camping and running? Why do y’all cherry pick killers so much? Where did they hurt you? Should we delete aura reading since “wall hacks are no fun for either sides”
The argument I'm seeing from you isn't
"All seeing is balanced"
It's
"But keys are unbalanced"
You're not arguing that the addon is balanced, you're arguing it shouldn't be touched because there are other unbalanced things on the other side which is completely missing the point of discussing something to begin with
-
Monitor and Abuse is a staple Deathslinger perk
24m tr to 16m makes keeping track of him such a pain in the butt
-
Good sportsmanship is only a thing when you win for many mains on both sides of the game

3 gens in 2 minutes is the reality of high level DBD and it barely even matters if you know where all the survivors are when you are a dumpy M1 killer like wraith. It's just going to let you be more accurate with the first attack in most cases. There's so much stuff that is so much more broken than it that it's almost funny people are complaining about it because they are bad at looping an m1 killer.
Nobody's saying the game is perfectly balanced in this thread
This thread is talking about the All Seeing Addon and whether or not it's an addon that should be changed
Going into threads talking about things and derailing by going "oh but xyz is in the game" or talking about gen times isn't a discussion, it's just deflection from the actual subject being discussed
-
@Kebek said:
People don't care for the fact that wraith even when now good and popular is still at best high mid tier killer.
They won't stop complaining about him until he gets at least 1 major nerf to cripple him again.
Yeah I mean I don't think Wraith should be nerfed but a small few of his addons should be looked at imo
Like I said in a previous post, the downside to a lot of wraith addons boiled down to "ye you can run this but it takes up a slot"
Not saying addons should have omega downsides, but yeah.

And survivors can slap on a key with a blood amber and do the exact same thing back to 95% of the killer roster? In addition to shaving 2 gens off the game to boot.
I don't mean to be rude, but we're talking about Wraith's all seeing addon in this thread. I don't appreciate the "what about x"
Please direct me to where I said keys and blood amber were okay and balanced (even though they run out and Wraith's all seeing is basically permanent but ok)
A more apt comparison would've been object of obsession, that let's you see the killer for potentially 3 seconds during a chase (In which the killer will also see you too)
-
One of the many reasons I despise Pig with a passion
Some 'Pig main' streamers do this and encourage it.
Slugging & tunnelling is how they pubstomp and inflate their egos
-
I would disagree, mainly because the addon removes any kind of 'mindgaming' when it comes to chases involving the Wraith.
Think about it, a lot of wraiths these days spend as much time as possible in cloak to take full advantage of the mobility and the post-uncloak speed boost. Paired with the addon, the wraith has insane information during a chase and can almost never be mindgamed or psyched out. It's like I'm all ears on crack basically
This addon's downside used to be that if you ran it, you only had 1 slot available for other addons like windstorm, shadow dance, swift hunt and so on
I also don't think the fact stealth becomes unviable is that fair, Blight had an addon similar to this and it was nerfed to be a bit more fair. Rightly so if you ask me
-
Just outclassed by medkits in terms of time saved
The only time I see toolboxes in lobbies is for 1 of 2 reasons
Sabos (Which are rare) or BNPs which are surprisingly a lot more common than you'd think
From time to time I'll bring one just for a bit of variety but the impact they can have is minimal when ruin is meta.

Ive tried it before, but all they have to do is book it around a corner
There's various ways to tackle it
Depending on the environment it's best to chase normally for a bit then use your power at an oppertune time
Part of Blight's learning curve is learning when to not use his power.
-
The quick way to counter this, is to not swing and instead try to bump into an object close by
Then you can use the 'slam' to re-direct yourself and get the hit
I see Blights do this a lot.
-
I don't think Lethal Pursuer is that good
With enough game sense and map knowledge you can find survivors in the early game really quickly
Seems to only be used these days for Nurses/Blights who want to pubstomp as quickly as possible

It'll still be here, you just have to take a picture of your rank to prove it.
Yeah but ranks actually mean nothing soon as opposed to now where they only determine what other ranks ur supposed to be matched with.
And nobody will know their MMR, so anyone who says like "as a high mmr player" they will have no way to prove it

I don't think so. That last phase definitely looked like hacks. There's plenty of hackers in this game, I would not give the spirit the benefit of the doubt.
yeah I mean I still think they were cheating but
it's def possible that they weren't, so I wanted to offer an alternative explanation
-
Actually after watching the full thing
I don't think they were cheating in the traditional sense, like ESPs and stuff but it certainly looks that way
I think what this is, is a thing some people do where they mess with the game's sounds to make certain things louder/quieter. It's quite possible they've got some kind of setup where survivor breathing is much louder than its supposed to be
It's kinda cheating, but not in the same vein as like - ESPs and so on.
Only problem with this theory is no Stridor, which spirits doing this would use for self explanatory reasoning.

How is it fishy that they used their ears?
"used their ears"
Did you not read my post?
OP's teammate DCs, the Spirit (Who you can see on Kindred) turns and looks directly at where OP is, phases and goes to precisely where they are, to the point where they hop out of phase and pre-swing because they are 100% confident in knowing where they are.

What exactly is bricking a PC?
Bricking a PC is basically breaking it
Like if you were to download something that 'bricked' your PC it essentially kills it
-
@SonicOffline said:
I didn't see anything fishy here. When she was phase shifting, you were the only one not sprinting everywhere. By the way, survivors do make general breathing sounds, which the Spirit can listen to.
How is it not fishy that when the DC happens, OP is stood completely still and then the spirit turns, looks directly at them (you can see it on kindred) and IMMEDIATELY phases to their exact location
It's not like they guessed, they literally appeared right on top of them
-
@GannTM said:
She just clearly has the better gaming chair

-
I think what Otz means by people being 'carried' is that they can make a decent amount of mistakes that without certain things (Perks and Items) would result in them losing but because they ran those things, they recovered
Take medkits for example:
If a survivor messes up and gets hit but then the killer decides to leave them and chase someone else, that survivor would theoretically stay injured until they find a teammate who would take 16 seconds to heal them
UNLESS they have a green medkit that heals them in 8, or even quicker.
As for Perks, here's another example:
Let's say the Killer's playing really well and the survivors make a few mistakes early on and somehow 3 people are on the floor and the final survivor is being chased. 1 unbreakable and boom that whole situation is basically instantly reversed. If EVERYONE has unbreakable then yeah you can imagine.
And for fairness sake, this doesn't just happen for survivor. A killer example would be the classic Blight player with Ruin Undying Pop Tinkerer
You take those perks away and suddenly that Blight isn't winning nowhere near as frequently as before
-
Def 100% cheating
When the DC occurs they phase IMMEDIATELY over to your exact location, despite there being nothing that would give you away.
I've faced a spirit like this before as well, they had perks though.
