Twins and... someone else were next. Can't remember who or in what order.

Some people are speculating either Artist or Sadako as neither have recieved any changes since their release. Sadako changes have also been hinted at previously in the anniversary loading screens. Nothing huge, but some staff mentioned new sadako playtesting sessions which heavily implies they are testing things for her in QA

  • It's rumoured to be the case yeah, we had confirmation that Twins were the next in line to be looked at for changes after Legion/Ghostface. It has been several patches since then so it's looking like we may see those changes soon. Hopefully

That would just buff it to the power level of Buckle Up lmao

Yeah but at least it's an information perk that'll actually get used more than once a game since kicking gens is quite a common thing at the moment/gen regression perks are still commonplace albeit weaker in some instances like Pop

It should ditch the activation requirement and have a secondary effect as well, idk what though

  • It would still be weak if it didn't have an activation condition, but it does for some reason

IMO it would be cool if the perk gave survivors the 'all seeing/fuming mixtape' effect on regressing generators (As in they can see how much progress a gen that is regressing has from the aura)

That would make it much better and fits the perk thematically very well

  • LOS blockers are my survivor kryptonite too tbh

Spine Chill is the ultimate remedy for this, you see that sucker on - you know the killer's close by so you can get ready

  • When he gets pallet stunned, he should say

"Mortals are so WEAK" which is one of his lines from Marvel v Capcom 3 (A game where he is one of the most OP chars)

  • He looks very disappointed.

    Comfy tho

  • I think it's mostly random but other RE characters have lines that'll play when there are other RE chars in the lobby

Leon and Ada will reference each other, Chris and Rebecca etc.

I've also noticed sometimes a voiceline will play when I ready up in a lobby when I'm playing Chris, so that might also be part of it

Good riddance I say, the dude accuses anyone who outplays him of hacking in some way shape or form, otz is a good player don't get me wrong and he's friendly but when he gets outplayed he flips a switch and starts questioning the survivors immediately, and acting like the game doesn't count because he "thinks" someone might be hacking.

As someone who's gotten fed up with the cheater paranoia, I will say it's not completely Otz's fault.

For starters, he has started encountering cheaters way more than he used to, especially since anonymous mode was added. Not only that but he actually had a stream or two where a specific cheater was going out of their way to target him but they were doing it in a subtle way until the end

Another thing is his chat. His chat makes the issue 10x worse because even if Otz goes like "huh that was odd" his chat is there spamming stuff like "lol obvious auto DH" "obvious cheater lol" and it just creates a really bad environment. I don't blame him for being a bit paranoid about it but when you're a big streamer it goes from "huh that was weird" to walls of messages saying "lol that's not legit"

  • Complete.

    Global.

    Infatuation.

I cant really say, I get true is more serious but you cant discredit what he says because of it. Hes just blunt and dont care while otz is more cautious of what he says and how he comes across. For example otz will call someone chill or casual, true would just call them bad...

I was just highlighting the fact both long time streamers are having the same opinion, ones been mega open for years and otz it's now starting to have enough.

I dont play either, if been with the game since they have, verse them often too but I couldn't play this game daily forever. I always need a break from the BS lol

It's not really about him being more serious, it's how he goes about it. He's said some things I agree with and some things I highly disagree with (Stuff like ruin being basekit, old Spirit being balanced and such)

Like I'm not trying to criticise the guy, but saying stuff like "they only face bad players and i don't because i'm amazing at the game" as a way of discounting people's opinions isn't the best way to put your ideas forward as correct.

DBD has made their careers, for the most part. I don't blame them for being upset that the game's lost its charm for them right now

  • There's a perk in the game called Deadlock

  • @Name_Unavailable said:

Tbf 50 win (3k or more) streak shouldn't be doable. But if it because cheaters then i understand.

And also im not MMR hater, But the game really isn't the same since ranks gone. (when rank rests from 1 to 10 not to 5)

some dude doing a 300+ nurse streak shouldn't be possible, but it's happened

same thing with those ppl who do swf surv streaks.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/347322/otz-taking-a-break

I dont follow streamers, but isnt otz experiencing and feeling the as true did?

Not that I care but I find it odd if otz gets sniped, sees cheaters and finds things imbalanced and wants a break is okay but if tru3 gets sniped, sees cheaters and speaks about imbalances everyone hates him...

Either way the game isnt balanced, especially when you consider items, maps etc. And it's no surprise people get burned out or annoyed... but it's not like we haven't been saying for years we need better balance in maps or even a better SBMM and anticheat in the first place

The difference is their attitude to people who disagree with them

I'm not even saying this to criticise the other streamer you're comparing him too, their attitudes are vastly different and that's why people have issues with one and not the other

  • Spirit, by proxy brought DBD one of it's other greatest killers (Oni)

so I'm very thankful for that as well. Without Spirit, there'd be no Oni

Your right, cloaked would be a good killer, maybe a skin for him. Also, good to know that DbD mask are in Payday, didn’t know about that

    @Maelstrom808 said:

Omg give me a cloaker killer and I'll be absolutely in heaven, and he has to have the "Now go to to the forums and cry like the little ***** you are" line PLEASE. PD2 is actually how I first was made aware of DBD. I bought DBD to get the masks and such for PD2. It sat in my library unplayed until this year.

I'm pretty sure that crossover came about because both Payday and DBD were both owned/published by Starbreeze Studios

Which is a whole rabbit hole with how that company turned out but DBD bought their publishing rights from them at some point

Weird how these games are connected in that way

  • I think if any Payday character should be a killer, it should be the Cloaker

So he can tell survivors to go to the forums and "cry like the little..." you know the line.

(Also tbh I think you could make a pretty interesting power for him, sorta like a dredge/wesker hybrid).

Also you say that Payday is an outlandish idea but did you know Payday has DBD content in it? You can get some DBD killer masks in it p sure, including an original concept for Wraith

  • Glad I'm not the only one bothered by this

    Pls fix it bhvr

  • btw Renewal actually got a small QOL tweak recently

Before it used to only give progress towards it when you stopped a healing action but now renewal will automatically fill up as you heal people like how Lucky Break does

    It's nice

  • I always thought 'Power role' in assym terms meant that they couldn't 'die'

Like in HSH, VHS, FF13, Evil Dead etc - the monsters can die in those games but in DBD they can only 'lose' but they can't lose by being killed/banished.

More to it than that I'm sure, but DBD has at least always stayed true to the idea that the monster is unstoppable in the sense that they cannot be killed; only halted/escaped from.

  • I think it working the way it does is a fine counter balance

LB is balanced by it's limited duration, so pairing it with we'll make it would make recharging it stupidly easy. Giving it anti-healing perk synergy is pretty healthy imo

  • I don't understand the point of the perk

Like, you're inflicting status effects on a survivor who's either healing someone else in the TR (Which is a bad play) or they are sneakily healing themselves somewhere, in which case the perk will do absolutely nothing

At least Fearmonger's effect is tied to an objective that Killers defend and know for sure that a survivor is affected by it.

  • Huntress is undoubtedly evil

Her upbringing and stuff for sure makes her a tragic character

But the fact is she enjoys killing, it's a sport for her. Her lore details how she enjoys toying with her victims. She doesn't kill to just survive unlike say, Twins.

  • Mediocre on its own imo. Needs other things to be worth a slot

If you want good healing speed, Medkits/Botany outclass it but paired with them, it's decent.

Increased unhooking isn't super good at low values but at 2 injured survs, the faster unhook also helps apply things like BT/Guardian so it's not completely useless. Even helps with camping, a bit

The unhook speed can be huge when it's paired with something like No One Left Behind or Leader but that's a very niche interaction

  • @dugman said:

Self Care, while the slowest form of healing, is also the most flexible and consistently available. It has no preconditions and can be used any time, anywhere, and can never be lost. This makes it potentially really good as a way to convert what would normally be idle moments in a game when you're not on a gen and maybe hiding from the killer, for instance, into time you can spend partially healing yourself to top off your bar. It's a nice supplemental healing source in that regard, it can get you part of the way to a heal with no time efficiency loss and then you can be healed more quickly the rest of the way through other means. Or, if the situation is really dire, you can simply gut it out and try and heal yourself to full with it as a last resort.

So Self Care probably appeals to players who have a high aversion to risk, it's a very safe option that still can provide tangible benefit. Overusing it or overrelying on it is probably a bad idea because it's so slow, but it could extend the life of medkits or fill the gap if a heal is interrupted or a Circle of Healing is snuffed, etc. That is probably a big part of why even as slow as it is the perk remains quite popular.

I think this is the most logical explanation for it

I mean think about it, look how potent original COH was. 1 perk gave the whole team self care on steroids

So self care before the nerf when used correctly was insanely time efficient. People usually don't notice in the moment to moment gameplay but survivors not being able to heal themselves is huge pressure for the killer, which is only magnified the less hook stages you have left

I posted it in the wrong place, so here's the same sentence

I am a Japanese playing in the Asian region, so I don't know the reasons for Asia as a whole, but I am trying to figure out why the use of self-care is so high in Japan.

For several years now, many people have increased their time at home due to covid... In other words, time spent playing games has increased.

Around that time, a Japanese entertainer named EIKO started streaming DbD on youtube.

Perhaps these two factors meshed together. As a result, many people in Japan started buying and playing DbD (probably on PS4 rather than steam).

Here are some thoughts on which survivor Japanese beginners should choose.

Who would you recommend as a survivor? Search for it.

Japanese DbD beginner wikipedia recommends Morel. One of the reasons is that she has a PERK that can self-medicate. Needless to say, Mikaela is hard to recommend for beginners because of DLC.

This has led to (1) many new players in Japan. 2) they start playing with Morel who can use self-care.

For these reasons, the use of self-care is probably high.

I cannot say for sure, but it is possible that not everyone is an intermediate or advanced player or a veteran. Taken as a whole, the numbers may seem strange. I am sure you felt that when you looked at the data for this 61% kill rate and the 50% or less kill rate for nurses.

    sry my poor english

I just wanted to say your English is great!

    Not poor in the slightest

  • Yeah that's how it works

Her blink is a basic attack right now

  • Sigma Squirrel grindset

Isn't that what people call it these days

  • @Hensen2100 said:

Prolly missing DPI flicking or turning addons.

Not sure about the second one, I feel like the attacks I do with him are fine.

Half the battle of learning blight is learning all his exploits. When I learned hug tech it was like night and day what you could do with him after

Those aren't really necessary to play Blight

I wouldn't give people the false impression they need them when one of the main arguments for not fixing them is "bump logic better"

  • Rule #1 of playing Blight - you're better off pressing m1 when you're basically touching the survivor because Blight's initial attack lunge is really wide and shrinks the longer the lunge goes on for. It's not explained anywhere but that's how it works

So think of it like this:

Instead of trying to use Lethal rush to lunge at the survivor, use Lethal rush to get really close and then tap m1 and you will essentially always hit them if they're that close. The animation looks slow, but if a survivor is close when you tap m1, it comes out instantly and damages them

  • Here are my issues with STBFL:

    • In solo Q the obsession probably won't try to counter the perk, which means you'll be dealing with it the majority of the game
    • Even if the obsession tries to counter the perk, some killers can straight up ignore the perk's counter/downside which I think is kind of an issue tbh
    • It makes camping idiot proof, a killer with 5/6 stacks can essentially always guarantee easy trades and slugs off the hook with minimal effort

Of the 3 issues, I think the camping one is the most problematic.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3189653#Comment_3189653

According to there own stats a while ago that on average swf escape rate was 15% higher so low balling solo que escape rate would be 30% while swf could range from 45% to 60%

    Sounds about right, yeah

    Damn

  • Personally I wonder what the escape rate would look like if all SWF matches with 3/4 mans were seperated

I wonder if there would be a big disparity there or if we would see that SWF doesn't create a huge disparity as people claim it does (Personally I think the difference would be at least 10%, maybe more)

  • I tend to play more when there's an active rift I need to do, mostly because I'm stubborn and want to keep recycling my 1000 cells so I never have to buy the rift again

I have been playing less, even with the new DLC - I think it's mainly because I've just not felt like playing Killer and solo survivor is still quite painful. I still have fun, it's just yk you gotta take the good with the bad.

Gonna play Wesker when the hype dies down

  • lol if a Legion gets 3 people down your team must've made serious mistakes

He is a vanilla m1 killer against an injured survivor unless that injured survivor happens to have 3 bodyguards

Sluzzy get better examples and evidence please, nobody is going to believe you if you're using Legion as an example. Do what everyone else does and use Nurse or Blight

  • The PTB for it should be sometime this month right?

Wesker came out at the end of August and the Midchapter should be slated for release in October (Probably with a halloween event or something) so, I imagine we'll be getting news very soon

  • I've always wondered why some original cosmetics were strictly auric only

    🤔

    This is great to see

  • Breakout shouldn't stack, no

Outside of very specific survivor builds (Flip-flop, Boil over etc), Breakout only shaves off like a second or two. You should still get at least 10+ seconds of carry time before a wiggle off

  • I don't know what their logic design wise would be, maybe they didn't think Blight would be as strong as he became when people figured him out

I think BHVR just doesn't like making slower killers since they are extremely punishing for newer players, look at Trickster - he was the last 110% killer they made and he had the 2nd lowest killrate in the game at one point.

  • I don't think it was ever meant to prove anything in the first place, it's just a challenge between friends done for entertainment purposes/to make the game interesting for themselves during the time between big DBD updates

They barely managed to complete it with comms, not knocking anyone's skill it was difficult.

if anything they might've done better without comms in some of the matches because they were constantly panicking/tripping over each other. No comms would've made coordinating extremely hard during the few instances I remember it being crucial, such as the endgame where a bubba was facecamping or the double range (pre nerf) nurse match.

Either way half of the challenge they faced inexperienced killers due to MMR, doesn't really prove much.

  • Agitation should also increase killer pickup speed. The only perk that does this right now is Fire-Up.

Dark sense should be something you can trigger by pressing the newly added 'active ability 2' button rather than having it trigger when the Killer enters a radius around you.

Aftercare should not reset after being hooked

I'm All Ears should have its cooldown reset if you down a survivor while it's active.

Dissolution shouldn't warn survivors that it is in play until after it breaks a pallet.

    @dspaceman20 said:

Camaraderie should let other survivors aware that you have the perk

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3183844#Comment_3183844

Solidarity should also show other survivors you have it

Kinship has a visual indicator for the survivors who trigger it, I've seen it

It would be nice for it to show before a survivor triggers it somehow though

  • Stuff like this goes both ways tbh

Like this stuff is rlly annoying especially with aim dressing screwing you over half the time

The other side is trying to stealth vs Killer using insanely bright filters, like wow - that's fair and totally just because it makes the game look better.

Not saying filters are good but you have to admit they make stealthing harder for survs

    RE4 is also $20.

That ######### better be worth it lmao

    That's actual straight up theft

right now on steam it's £3.74 bc there's some kind of special going on

  • My recommendation would be Cheryl as well, she has 2 great perks and 1 'eh' perk that's not terrible but also hard to use.

All 3 of Jill's perks are good in combination with other things.

Blast Mine will (hopefully) be reverted.

Resurgence is good, only issue is it's hard countered by hemmorage.

    Counterforce is okay. Just okay

Ada's perks are fun, but not really good. Wiretap is her best perk.

My order would be Cheryl ---> Jill ---> Ada

Also if you want a recommendation on who to get next, I'd say Jeff. Distortion is a super useful perk now because we're in a meta where Aura reading perks and builds are abundant.

Breakdown is an incredibly underrated perk that has hidden potential imo

Aftercare is my personal fav aura reading perk and it's not bad. It's outclassed by Empathy and Bond but it's still good.

I haven't played any of the RE games besides 2.

I loved the first DL and 100% it back in 2016, also own the 2nd game.

I will be trying Dead Space, since it's free.

    Hell yeah my guy, enjoy.

    It's an incredible game.

Also damn, you should really play RE4 then - It inspired so many different games of past generations it's crazy. Dead Space is actually one of them funnily enough

Just be warned though RE4 will kick your rear end a bit but you said you're into souls games so I imagine you're used to games being like that. Good luck!

  • @Pulsar said:

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the Souls games (hated them but enjoyed the accomplishment).

I'm not super picky honestly. I'm willing to try new things!

I'll list a bunch of random games that I consider pretty neat, some might not be available on console tho bc you know how it is with PC gaming:

Nioh/Nioh 2 - They're very similar to the souls games in a way, not just clones though

Dying Light 1 - Honestly one of my fav zombie games, still looks and plays great and it's one I keep coming back to on a yearly basis for a replay

Dead Space 1 - If you can get your hands on it somehow, amazing game. It's an xbox 360 game that still holds up amazingly. Plus it's topical since it's being remade + One of the co-creators is making a spiritual successor (Calisto Protocol I think it's called)

RE4 - I'm guessing you've already played this one because it's been ported to every console and some kitchen appliances but if you haven't, check it out. It's such a great game

Metro 2033 - Such an absorbing FPS with some horror elements. Really enjoyed my time with it

Spirit Farer - A indie game with an amazing artstyle and a pretty emotional story. Wouldn't recommend if (like me) you get attached to characters

Paper's Please - An indie game about manning a border checkpoint. It's a lot more interesting than it sounds, trust me. It does so much with so little

  • Most survs when they die just click continue and go next, the fast que times usually means even if they die early on they can be in a match before the one they just died in ends. Usually only SWFs stick around the whole game till the end like that, and I doubt they'd care if one of their buddies is given hatch.

Doesn't bother me when I play, solo or premade.

I don't get why a display of good sportsmanship is being considered a bad thing here

Also it's not working with survivors if they are the last survivor, the game is over. I've won and I don't care enough to slug for the 4k so if I close hatch and give the guy the gate that's my own damn business

  • Please.

I want this perk to be not even good, just decent enough to run so I can heal people and be like "Damn look at that better than new value"

As it stands, that never happens

  • This is like those evolution posters

How one man went from rookie cop to government agent in 4 stages

  • idk about you but whenever I'm working on a gen and I see the deep wound bar I begin to wonder

"Why do I hear a distant bass approaching?"

Being a Legion enjoyer is a weird thing

  • What are you looking for in a game

    Challenging Gameplay?

    Good Story?

Replayability/'Time sink' type games (Basically games you can just keep playing and playing theoretically forever)?

Also knowing what kind of genre floats your boat would help, I'll happily recommend some games!

1 … 26 27 28 29 30 … 103
