It has all the deadly sins of a badly designed DBD map
Big size? Check
Absurd amount of pallets? Check
Virtually no deadzones/unsafe pallets? Check
Loops that can be easily daisy-chained into one another (While also having Killer shack available)? Check
Massive main building that not only blocks line of sight, has breakable walls that must be broken, has at least one god pallet and even has hooks up top that are extremely easy to camp (And yes, they are there because of Boil Over just like RPD library before it was killed)? Check
These are all mostly from a Killer POV, but I can name similar sins for the few Killer sided maps as well, it goes both ways but Eyrie it is def way too favourable to survs

Then run perks that help with it then....
All I'm saying is that it takes gamesense to try and counter Eruption... yes I did say TRY
Aura perks don't help you determine if a teammate is going to go down, just that they are being chased
Game sense is irrelevant because even if you 100% know for a fact a gen you are on has eruption, you have to either stop working on the gen until someone goes down (Aka not being productive and giving the killer more time) or work on it and risk being barred from playing the game for 25 seconds (Once again not being productive and giving the killer more time)
It is a lose/lose scenario. Not all SWFs play the game like it's a tournament with constant callouts, because spending half the match saying the words "im going down" is boring as hell lol
-
Franklins + Sloppy every game has been my go-to on most killers
It might not completely curb it, but if you wanna self heal using COH you can deal with the mangled penalty while you're at it
-
Spawns the most amount of pallets of any map and 90% of them are safe
-
Not enough
-
I know the feeling I've been running franklins in the majority of my games lately just to keep up
It's become the rule and not the exception like it used to be

I mean, I see where Pixel is coming from. To a degree I agree as well, but at the same, it’s never been that egregious. We never had anything visibly flopping about beyond Clown’s belly.
That said, I do think the Pyramid Head cake and shirtless jokes are getting stale.
Shirtless Felix was never funny, I remember when BHVR kept dedicating actual questions in their Q&As to it when cheating was a rampant issue that wasn't being addressed.
The only funny iteration was Shirtless Myers, because anything involving Myers is almost always funny
-
Yeah slowdown stacking isn't exclusive to Legion
I get why people find them boring, their power is either a free injury button on a single survivor or a "stabs you then runs away" button. I still love them though
I don't like caffeine pills legion though, I find that to be kinda ridiculous
-
BHVR distracting from the fact their newest Killer's power seems mediocre and their newest map seems kinda mid using thirst tactics
Where have I heard this before...?
Anyone else remember Trickster's release?

So the introduction, no, the buff of this one perk suddenly allows the killer the time to go around kicking all the gens and still win? I swear nobody thinks of the killer pov of this perk, or any perk for that matter. "JUST kick the gens."
Kicking generators isn't hard
The problem is kicking generators by default doesn't do much, not that it consumes too much time.

Is this a joke? Despite being in the horror genre, we do not have a single big breasted blonde in the entire roster.
This company is super prudish. It is far from sex appeal.
they officially licensed a dating simulator game where you get into a relationship with a character that is essentially a reanimated corpse wearing almost nothing
and you call that super prudish
ok bro
-
The only counterplay to Eruption is to either be in a SWF who are in constant communication and even then that's not always enough or you need to be psychic to know the instant when someone's about to go down
Even if I know the Killer has eruption and I'm trying to get a gen done that has it, there's nothing I can do to avoid the incapacitated penalty unless I'm one of the two things I listed above. Eruptions cooldown is also so minimal that by the time the penalty has wore off, the killer's already hooked who they downed and can come back and apply it again
Also kicking generators isn't hard whatsoever, we're in the gen kicking meta right now where perks like call of brine reign supreme
-
Never feel bad if you're just playing the game to the best of your ability with no ill intentions. Don't let people project intentions onto you either
If you go out of your way to make other players miserable on purpose (Example: 4 man bleedouts), then yeah you should feel bad because nobody likes people who do that
But you're clearly not doing that, I imagine you're just trying to win so don't sweat it. People get mad no matter how you play.
-
Cowshed is an unholy abomination
Whoever designed this map, I wonder how they sleep at night...
Not but jokes aside, Cowshed is probably the most unbalanced map in the whole game - when the map gives survivors bad RNG, the map still plays itself but when the RNG dice land in the survivors favour, oh boy.
The whole map itself becomes one giant daisy chain. From safe pallet to safe pallet to good window and by the time its over, the match is over.
-
Either remove them all or make sacrifical wards a brown offering
Map offerings are cool in the sandbox sense, you make a fun build and you wanna use a specific map to compliment it like jumpscare myers or if you want to use a certain map for a challenge
But unfortunately those use cases are vastly outweighed by people simply abusing the maps that favour their role/killer. There's a reason survivors typically burn coldwind/autohaven/ormond and so on and killers will mostly burn maps like midwich.
-
If they wanted to buff it, they could just cut out the activation condition
As in, every 30s - you can vault 40% faster.
Maybe the activiation condition is there to provide counterplay to people who notice it? (Even tho let's be real, it's not that impactful of a perk in the grand scheme of a match)
-
Do it again BHVR
PROPERLY this time...

Awesome. Thank you ! Didn't know if it was against bots if they'd be like "nah that's asking too much" lol but good to know.
Yeah it's convenient
It's going to be extremely useful for not only practicing but other stuff like bug finding, tech testing and so on
But yeah customs against bots are just regular customs, the way it works is just by clicking on the "+" thing in the lobby and choosing to add a bot.
-
You can use any perk or addon you wish, as if it were a regular custom game (Since it IS a custom game)
You'll even have stuff you don't have unlocked because in customs you have access to everything besides the actual characters themselves
-
Very nice looking
I hope the 4 skulls don't mind it too much when you put stuff on them
-
I think the fact that this was added in a hotfix, likely as a result of the Light in the Fog event in a few days has increased my respect for BHVR greatly
It might seem like a small gesture to some but it means the world to so many people
-
This is such a nice gesture, very happy to see this as I always thought they should do something like this
-
If they could make him work in Tekken, I'm 100% confident BHVR could make him work in DBD
Obviously I know Negan is less of a straight up antagonist in the comics/show since he has various arcs and such but you could easily justify that by saying he was taken by the entity before any of those arcs, rather he was taken when he was at his lowest low.
Alternatively, if they really needed to they could tweak his lore and make something a bit more original like they did with Yoichi. It could def work

The driving license, a purple addon that actually did nothing
It's gone now though :(
-
That Wesker head piece is pathetic
I understand there's probably some kind of agreement with Capcom at play that means BHVR can't heavily alter the faces of their characters (Even though they did with Blighted Nemesis but sure) but they could have, AT LEAST put a bit more effort into making it different from his default
Idk, make his eyes glow through his glasses?
Or maybe have his hair stained by the serum, so it's less blond/more of a slightly orange colour
Even some minor facial scarring would've been better than this.
If they really can't change the head too much, don't include it like they did with that one Pinhead outfit
Just make it a torso/weapon cosmetic so people can use the prestige head with it. So stupid
-
I genuinely think these are the laxest forums I've ever seen from an official game dev company
Like I've seen some pretty scathing, borderline nasty criticisms be left basically unmoderated for the most part. They draw the line at personal attacks on people or really vulgar language (For the most part).
The only people I've seen be banned for criticism type threads are people who just spam them over and over with little difference. Even then you get warned first pretty sure.
Whether people think it's ignored is besides the point, DBD's community exists in this weird paradox where sections of the community are convinced their opinions are never wrong and the "opposing side" shouldn't have any credence because xyz. BHVR has to think carefully what to listen to because DBD as a game spans so many different viewpoints and ideas.
Hell, some of the things I would say most of us agree on might be heavily contested opinions elsewhere.
-
Accurate depiction of Trickster's main event
Especially the knives missing part
-
I feel the same way about rifts/battlepass stuff sometimes
But at least there's a chance of that stuff coming to the store eventually
-
You will get through this and be a stronger person as a result
Keep fighting, you can do it
-
Didn't you make this thread already
Like three times
-
Spine Chill might've lost the vault and skillcheck aspect but it gained the property of being a 100% perfect info perk. If it's on, the killer is within 36m of you. No ambiguity or 'flicking on/off'
-
Nurse with insta-down perks on a small map
Or Blight with iri tag alch ring on a small map
On a big map even with either of these two it is extremely unlikely.

I meant if endgame wasn't started yet. Eg gens left and killer found and downed them before they found and closed hatch. But that is also very much true. Either way, results basically don't change.
I agree on the artificiality feeling though. I think time-saving could have been handled in a better way than how it was done. It also makes fun gimmicks like slug races or whatever impossible too.
I don't personally know how they could change it but I def agree speeding up losing games for survivor is a good QOL. Shame they had to give survs a basekit form of UB though, I do think it's a healthy idea but it def looks like they added it purely to deincentivize killers from slugging everyone from minute one
-
DS is deactivated in the endgame
Apart from that the system doesn't really favour either side, I think the problem is how artifical it feels for both sides.

I don't think they wanna play better players, otherwise he would DC. Maybe he just wants to feel like it's close. But if he keeps DCing his MMr won't get better I guess?
I had a similar game against Wesker. He tunneled out a Mikaela then was AFK in front of gate and letting us do gens. Then he had No Way Out and when we went to open the other gate he started moving. I think we all made it out (except the dead Mikaela) and he was saying how we got out only because he let us go.
Nah it was close, like
He tunnelled someone out at 3 gens, but then we got to 1 gen and he was trying to slug everyone to death but when it didn't work and the person outplayed him he DCed.
But he could've easily won, all he had to do was stop slugging and hook the people he was downing.
-
Had a Blight who was very clearly winning the match DC because, and I quote
"i'm sick of vsing garbage players" (He said this because he got outplayed by one of my teammates)
Then he challenged me to a 1v1 after I said he called us bad despite the fact he DCed.
I was astonished that even when some people are winning they are this entitled

Since they were released, which for Twins is quite a while lmao

This is the worst mid chapter I've ever seen.
Either one of two things is true I think
The finisher mori system was actually meant for this midchapter but something internally has made them go "well it's not going live with this patch" which is why if you take it out of the equation the update adds only fixes and optimisation
Or
The finisher mori system wasn't ready but it's been pushed up because this update had nothing to actually test to begin with
-
@Seraphor said:
It would be kinda hard to test any other significant changes at the same time as a major overhaul to the game such as the Mori/basekit Unbreakable changes.
But they told us that those features weren't going live, which implies they weren't meant for this midchapter
Which I no longer believe, it make absolutely 0 sense at all.

It's even more ironic that people call fnaf childish even though the DBD community loves overusing sex jokes to the point it feels like I'm in middle school again
Yeah i mean they even made a whole dating sim parody game for that demographic
It's about as 'cringe' as any FNAF game, more so perhaps. Nothing against people who like that sort of thing but I'd hope they aren't the same people who lecture others on their taste in entertainment
You're right though, people going on about shirtless characters just isn't funny to me. Shirtless Myers was the only funny iteration of the joke if you ask me
-
No offence to BHVR intended when I say this
But their game has had recent security issues that's gotten people DDosed and (I think, Alledgedly) Swatted. I wouldn't trust them with my Birth date, nevermind my phone number
-
@Sandt21 said:
Oh! I got One!
*cough cough*
................
The amount of people who want a FNAF chapter in DBD far outnumber the amount of people who don't. Like, to the point of the pro-FNAF side being hilariously bigger then the anti-FNAF side.
I don't think that's an opinion, honestly. It's a fact
FNAF's just a huge juggernaut of a franchise, it wouldn't have spawned so many copy cats, spinoffs, novels, fangames, merch and essentially becoming the poster child for indie horror games. (For better or worse).
I'm speaking as someone who's never played any of the games and yet I'm aware of the franchise to the degree i could explain the basics to you. That's just how popular it is
Especially popular with younger audiences despite the fact it's a horror franchise because of content creators. This is probably why many are against it's inclusion, even before the controversial political stuff that I won't get into, many people dismissed FNAF because it's 'just jumpscare horror for kids and youtubers'.
(Which is a bit ironic if you think about it, because one of DBD's main claims to fame is being one of the most streamed games on Twitch)

It doesn’t go without saying. Sometimes a survivor is slugged for 45 seconds because the killer literally can’t hook them.
True
But that's not a slugging problem? That's (typically) a map design problem or due to the archaic 'hook destruction' thing. Like all they need to do is make hooks respawn when a survivor is sacrificed and the issue is more or less solved.
-
After Trickster's inclusion, I think basically anything vaguely horror themed can fit.
I like Trickster and I'm glad he's in the game, my opinion on him has changed over the time he's been in the game but his initial design was a jarring shift of tone compared to the others.
Especially considering he was the first killer to spout understandable lines in the middle of a trial. If you think about it Trickster paved the way for Pinhead/Wesker's voicelines

So better measures should be implemented against AFKing/sandbagging that don’t involve giving a penalty-free way to ragequit.
If you throw up a wikipedia article in response to a short criticism about hypocrisy, I think that says a lot more about you than it does me.
I don't even disagree with you for the most part but you're doing the exact same thing you went on every single Nurse thread to complain and bug the mods about. Give it a rest
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
I want a developer update that acknowledges that killers are sometimes forced to slug survivors for valid reasons.
Why
That goes without saying, BHVR isn't making it impossible to slug. If you're slugging people for 45s at a time, that's a playstyle problem. I know Unbreakable is a different beast, but let's not pretend the basekit UB will make slugging as a tactic completely invalid. It's not like the game forces you to pick up anyone you down.
They're making it less rewarding to slug for long periods of time
