  • Yeah this happens a lot, although in my games when I win as Killer the survs typically aren't rude they just leave as soon as they die

The last surv is the one most likely to say gg or be a bit rude.

The opposite is also true, I'll see a lot of killer players say gg when they stomp my team and I but if we win, they either don't say anything or are rude about it

You're wrong though, range addons are still OP. The speed to the blink was just the icing, but their problem was the fact that they remove entirely one of her most important counterplays: distance.

They're still good but not OP imo

The speed was what made them unbearable to go against. I can actually play against a range addon Nurse now

Don't forget Kate too!. Devs act as if she didn't get 3 skins in less than a month this summer.

    Can't forget Feng

One of two original survivors to get a RE themed outfit and of course it was her

  • It's a fun perk that helps Killers when they are at their weakest

Also has a lot of new cool synergies thanks to its new effect.

It's work in progress, as the devs have literally said. Devs said they are looking into ways to help combat reckless tunneling/camping and guess what the result was? Took a while for them to figure out an idea to do, but they did and now there's 10s Haste/Endurance off hook basekit so teammates feel less screwed over for not running Borrowed Time which was nearly necessity before.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3181844#Comment_3181844

That's pretty much my mindset. If the game did way better at explaining and solo queue lack of info wasn't miserable, I think it would actually help most of the issues.

Regarding your point on casual players, I personally feel like that boils more down to a matchmaking issue. Casual players exist in every game, but the game should be trying to match them against other similarly casual/less-experienced players more consistently. Regardless if Nurse or not, casual players regardless of side will be less-experienced with facing pretty much anything correctly/playing it well. But a better in-game guide for tips and tricks would also help for anyone interested, as well as improving the loading screen tips.

For instance, against Plague, a new loading screen tip could be like "If you are going to cleanse your sickness, you should do it as far away from incomplete generators and other survivors as possible. This will make Plague take a lot of time if she wants to obtain usage of her power Corrupt Purge." So people don't just willy-nilly cleanse right next to a generator that needs to be done.

Example of Nurse tips: "Be unpredictable as possible. If you consistently double back, the killer can learn and adapt. Mix it up! Break line of sight, double back without looking back, look back but don't double back, go random directions, etc. Observe how they play and adapt to it."

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3181850#Comment_3181850

That is just wrong. You can see good players doing well or even beating Nurse.

The only issue with Matchmaking is that "High mmr" is essentially non-existant due to the soft cap so a casual player will eventually end up hitting that soft cap which will lead to them being put with people wayyy above that

I think even you mentioned it on the thread about Alf's nurse streak

no idea how you could even solve that really, good luck BHVR

  • Bring a medkit

Then just pretend you're playing perkless.

    You got this

  • @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3181835#Comment_3181835

Personally, I consider the main two "issues" to be that (1) solo queue have no means of communication or knowing what teammates are doing and (2) she is extremely different from other killers both in playing as and against her, and the in-game tips/tutorial does not do anywhere near good enough of a job of explaining how to play against her to survivors.

I think most Nurse players could be beaten if people had a bit more coordination and a bit more grit (as in not giving up if they get downed quickly). I know Starstruck Nurse isn't fun for anyone but the Nurse but it's not unbeatable

My stance on Nurse has shifted since Range addons aren't OP anymore. I still think she's got issues that need addressing but for the most part she's manageable by competent survivors. (not saying I'm competent mind, but I can deal with Nurse, most of the time)

The question is what do we do with casual people who don't play as much as you or I.

  • tbf most of the videos are cherry picked

I'd say improve solo Q first, see if that helps people deal with Nurse. Coordination vs a Nurse is needed I feel.

  • Wraith hasn't looked at NOED the same since the nerf

I think he's seeing other perks

    He'll always go back though

I have played killer. I have to do it for challenges. I do not enjoy it. It's not fun.

I can win almost every game if I want to put forth the effort as killer. I don't want to torment people, so I don't enjoy it. I play survivor with friends or solo for blood points. Once bots come out, I'll never touch a game with random people again.

If you have to put forth effort to win then how is that tormenting people? Like if you don't enjoy killer I 100% respect your POV but it's far from effortless.

Can it be easy sometimes? Def. Same for survivor though, sometimes matchmaking has a moment and gives you BabyMyers20 who's got 1 yellow perk

  • tbh I wonder what a world in which Blight was the strongest Killer in the game would look like

If Nurse didn't exist and Blight was the peak of Killer power level

  • @Nihlus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3181783#Comment_3181783

Killer is not fun. I do not enjoy pulling wings off flies or kicking puppies. You fight people that can't fight back. It's boring.

I mean, you're entitled to your opinion and I respect that

But Killer is not like that for many of us. I know people will say Killer is the easiest its ever been and it's true to a certain point

If you don't wanna play Blight yourself, that's fine - maybe watch someone else play him for a bit, see if you learn anything.

  • @Nihlus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3181780#Comment_3181780

What a wonderful idea. "Just don't be where the killer is". What an amazing revelation. My solution for you for gen rush teams is to just not let gens get done. What an incredible insight.

I will make sure I'm not where blight is... By not playing the boring games where he is at all. There's the counterplay. Counter by not playing.

Listen I understand Blight can be frustrating but there are things you can do against him. If I can manage to defeat very good Blights by simply wasting enough of their time, like not even me playing super well - just playing well enough to waste enough time for my team to make progress and vice versa, you can win.

There's no need to be hostile about it, many of us are just trying to help

  • @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3181770#Comment_3181770

If the survivor thinks Blight is going to go one way, they go the other. If they think Blight is going to slide around the surface, they peel off from the surface. If they think Blight is going to go for a certain bump logic path, they don’t put themselves in that path. So on and so forth.

Yeah I didn't ask for you to explain your point to me, I understood what you meant

But the people you're quoting and just going "just mindgame better lol" actually would benefit from more substantial replies. Nobody learns anything if you reply to people that way.

I get it. You love blight. I don't care. You win. Enjoy your free wins. I am not going to bother trying because it's not worth the effort. It's not fun being tagged around corners. There's a reason he's S tier with Nurse. They're basically a free win against all but the sweatiest of sweaty SWF squads.

He is hard to face but not unbeatable, I'd recommend trying him yourself a bit- it helped me learn a lot as someone who swaps between both roles frequently

  • @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3181757#Comment_3181757

Mindgame better. If you could nullify a power by stepping to the side, that would be stupid weak.

    "Mindgame better"

This isn't an helpful argument, you're not helping anyone by replying to people like this.

  • @Nihlus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3181752#Comment_3181752

You mistyped "no counterplay". When you can swing around corners, the only opportunity to juke or dodge his power is gone. It would be one thing if you had to move in a straight line and could be dodged. You cannot.

I think once you have a better understanding of what Blight can/can't do then the counterplay to is becomes more clear but it's hard to know that if you play purely only survivor since a lot of Blights have different playstyles/addons that mess with timings and muscle memory

It's why the Nurse ranged addons were broken OP. If you take time to try Blight a bit and learn his limitations, putting it into practice is quite worthwhile.

  • @Yamaoka said:

People claim he is op because he is op.

His power ends chases quickly regardless of the survivor's experience and allows for easy map pressure at the same time.

    That's op by definition.

    That's just not true though?

A decent/good survivor will probably go down eventually but the amount of time they can buy vs the amount of time a bad survivor against a blight would buy is substantial enough to show that experience and skill is important vs this killer. Blight can play around survivor resources but he cannot straight ignore them like Nurse can

Some addons make his power have less counterplay it's pretty universally agreed on but even speed addon Blights don't play perfectly.

  • The toothy grin on the snowman head is the best part, it's so creepy but also amusing at the same time

  • The Dredge cosmetic just completely eclipsed this, apologies.

Those are all global killer changes. It doesn't track what they're trying to portray. Since "clown recently got a nerf". Which ?????

Global Killer changes that make the stronger killers even stronger though

Like I agree it's weird to look at it in this way but it's true. The stronger killers got even stronger post 6.20 and the weaker ones got stronger too but not to the same degree. DS is still good at against someone like Myers or Trapper but useless against the stronger killers where you probably need it the most

  • His addons get buffed seemingly for no reason sometimes

Survivor post hit speed boost helps blight massively, as does the DS nerf.

Longer gen times buff all killers by default so Blight, being one of them, also counts.

  • @kizuati said:

alch ring was more tolerable pre 6.1.0 now survs will gain negative distance with ti lol

It's always been way too overtuned.

It's a purple addon that basically removes one of Blight's biggest forms of counterplay (His rush token recharge time).

I like to imagine it like if Nurse had an addon that gave her both blinks back immediately if she successfully landed a blink attack. It's not the same but the idea is that Nurse/Blight have built in counter measures to their powers regardless if they hit or miss so an addon straight up removing it if you don't miss makes no sense to me.

  • It's his addons that make people say he's OP

mainly alch ring and compound 33 I think? IDK if Adren vial counts since it at least has a downside

I saw someone say Alch ring was balanced in a video once, I don't know how they came to that conclusion but I think it was a very misguided one.

Windows is good for more casual players. Alert is good for solo queue Veteran players that know map layouts… but not which pallets are getting thrown. Plus it gives bonus info on which gens are being contested.

Any Means Necessary is better than Alert for knowing which pallets are gone IMO

It might not show the aura of the killer when they kick a gen but knowing which pallets are being dropped and then destroyed is huge. Being able to reset a resource every once in a while is also really good. Alert is good though, I just think AMN is better for that aspect of it

  • This is why Windows is such a great perk that's very common these days

It basically cuts out the middle man of having to identify what's around you. Obviously you still need to use your resources well but being able to use a perk and go "ok there's nothing near me but a lot of pallets over there" can help survivor immensely.

  • I refuse to play until this is fixed

There are some incredibly petty people who play DBD and I'd rather not run the risk

  • This is why Ada prefers to work alone

  • There's a few reasonable explanations I can think of

His power working in short bursts means he can close distance quite quickly, so giving survivors an extra 8m warning helps circumvent this issue.

It may also have something to do with the fact that a fully infected survivor moves 8% slower, so maybe the bigger TR Is also there so fully infected survivors have more of a warning to hide.

If it's neither of those two - it could just be a thematic thing. I know it sounds really stupid to say this but maybe BHVR went "Wesker makes his presence known in the games, let's replicate that feeling by making his TR the biggest in the game by default".

  • I believe you or the banned person needs to make a steam ticket to inquire about a ban

That's the only way I know of at least

  • Corrupt for early game

Deadlock for mid to late game

No way Out isn't a gen perk but it can give you an extra minute to make a comeback before gates are ready to open so it basically extends the game if you can get the stacks

Lethal to pressure survivors as soon as they spawn, also not a gen perk but a good start is crucial to winning

Midmatch, suddenly dc whenever I am about to 4k, usually at like 8-9 hook states, I don't even get a dc penalty XD

Does your internet go out completely?

I've had this 'crashing' issue happen to me (Where it kicks me out of a match, no penalty) but my internet was fine the whole time

  • So like

Has it been happening for you mid match or afterward?

Like do they do it to make you lose or are people doing it in response to you beating them?

  • The Bledge

He can teleport to lockers and when he exits he breaks into a sprint that can be used to bounce off objects. He can also go from his sprint straight into a locker and reposition himself.

  • @get_barted said:

Ok. How were we supposed to figure that out on our own?

It's bugged, gonna be fixed soon apparently

  • It's Self Care, Peanits confirmed it elsewhere

  • To your first point, you should add a point about people's horrible attitudes when they don't hold the same opinions on the video game. I think that is also a very important issue worth putting on your thread

    🤔

  • Some characters have lines that play when you ready up

With Chris, I've heard him say lines like "Don't let me down" when readying up.

  • Please tell me they didn't just set it's duration to 0 (and lethal is making it 2 seconds) instead of just removing it

Because if that's what happened that is just hilarious

as long as the dolls were both good guy dolls and tiffany dolls.

i would love chucky. but to leave out tiffany would be such a waste

I'm 100% confident they could do something like that

BHVR knows where the money is

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3160478#Comment_3160478

they allready worked around it with sadako being the shortest. so im sure they can do it with chucky. only problem is that he would have perma victor view (good or bad depending on the person)

More so like, their idea of a power for him. Like what kind of gimmick(s) would they give him?

Like in my mind - I Imagine we get Charles Lee Ray as the Killer (His human form, using Brad's likeness) and the power would be using the good guy dolls in some way. It'd be v similar to twins though so IDK if that's how they would do it but if I were BHVR that's the angle I'd start with

But a purely 'Doll' only Chucky I wonder how they'd do it and what their power would be.

  • From my understanding, If Wesker slams someone into the exit gate - they are blocked in for a very brief period. You 100% should've been able to leave in this instance though and the fact the Wesker stood there nodding doesn't sit right with me there. Seems like they might know of a bug or something LOL

  • Karma for clicking at the killer, you got what you deserved kappa

It's weird I've seen this a few times today, It def wasn't happening pre-hotfix but was this also a thing on PTB? It must have been right? It could just be a latency issue but it also seems like the survivor gets sucked/vaccumed into the bound itself. A hatchet would have probably hit you there though, as would a Deathslinger chain but this just looks horrible from surv POV.

BTW It also looks like this on Killer POV, I saw it happen like three times on Otz's stream today where he'd 'miss' but the survivor would get vaccumed into the bound, it may be worth inquiring if this is a bug or something

  • If you're a newer player who doesn't quite understand survivor movements/looping patterns and so one then using her power can be really tricky.

Artist's power is essentially all about placing birds in good spots to shut down loops immediately to either force an m1, make them leave the tile or get a bird hit. She also excels at pressuring survivors from a distance

I wouldn't call her 'easy' but she is def not as hard as some other killers.

I'd say she's moderate to slightly difficult; She requires prediction and precision to get the most out of her power but once you understand the best way to use her power, the challenge comes in its application and how your opponents react to it.

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

i honestly think they are lying with this, but wanna calm people down.

    Eh I wouldn't say so

The source was someone asking a DBD game programmer on twitter about it, he seemed pretty sincere in his response - I don't see why he would lie about it. People might be annoyed about it but if what he says is true then it wasn't really a balance decision and he made it clear that if the designers want BM to work how it did pre-patch then they can ask for it.

    Seems fair to me tbh

  • @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3169576#Comment_3169576

That does remind me actually. DBD does need some adjustments to said RNG in my opinion. Eg, tile spawn logic. The amount of possible variance gets a bit too insane IMO.

Yeah I agree I saw a big moment today that demonstrates why

Otz was playing Bubba with Lethal and he spawned on a Macmillan map, very close to a survivor. The survivor spawned in a deadzone with a hill and nothing around it. By the time the survivor realised it was a bubba and that he was coming, he was screwed.

All because he spawned close to the Killer and they happened to have Lethal

  • @Deathstroke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3169442#Comment_3169442

What about if survivor chases you whole game is that forced tunneling? I had this feng following me around who I hooked and then went chasing another one and injured but feng came to blind me at pallet and I lost the other one and she kept clicking to follow her and I did she hit me with ds but I continued going after then. Then hooked her again went to chase another survivor hooked her and then went to down another survivor until feng came again trying flaslight save got her down and hooked. Hard tunneling can be tactical though if done right and some killers are planned for it like executioner who ignores bt, otr and ds. Nurse is good example too because ds or bt is nothing to her but for most killers they slow then down which can make tunneling not the best option.

If the survivor has no care for their survival then neither should you; it's on them to know what they are doing is a dumb play, not the Killer.

Dead on hook/vunerable survivors going for plays that involve getting in the Killer's face (FL saves, Taking hits etc) are completely their fault if they backfire. The pay off can be devastating for the Killer if it succeeds but they are more likely than not to backfire

  • @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3169550#Comment_3169550

Okay, if we're going to split hairs over this, then a state champion or something. Against your random average person who knows how to play chess, that is still a completely one-sided game regardless.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3169555#Comment_3169555

Pub players is pub players. As in, public queue-matched players. Whether that's 4 solos, a 4 man SWF, or any mix there within. Solo doesn't necessarily mean they're bad. SWF doesn't necessarily mean they're good. Just whatever comes across from queues. The odds of a person facing an actually insanely good killer, or an actually insanely good lobby of survivors, are both incredibly absurdly small. Most games for an average player, will be against more or less otherwise average players. As in, people who fail to take advantage of mistakes or make huge mistakes on the regular. People that you could give basically every advantage to (best possible build/map/etc) and they'd still lose.

Comparing Chess to DBD is very bad because Chess has no RNG.

DBD has immense levels of RNG, spawns themselves are RNG.

    Also it was a joke

I was considering going full scourge hooks + agi as a different build

Honestly that sounds like a really fun build to do once I get the addons stockpile large enough to regularly use it

I find sloppy to just be a bit boring, like its a good perk but its rewards are a lot less tangible than others, same goes for the likes of thana or dying light, there a lot less situations were I feel "damn I got that down because of sloppy" or that I won a game off a sick sloppy play even though theres a good chance I have won games because they couldnt quite make the heal in time but I just didnt know it was that close to being finished. Its a good perk but personally it feels a bit boring to use unless Im playing a killer that really badly needs to keep injures coughcough Twins cough.

Yeah Sloppy's just one of those perks that's bad on like 3 killers (The chainsaw boys and blight), it's serviceable on all and really good on most killers but it's hard to know it's impact sometimes

On Dredge it's pretty good because their mobility makes splitting pressure insanely easy. You can get an injure and if the person runs somewhere strong like idk let's say a jungle gym - you can just opt to TP elsewhere and let them waste time healing. (Assuming they aren't carrying a medkit lmao, medkits OP)
