Make it 10M and I think the perk would be pretty reasonable
I've been using it as a sort of fail safe for making risky saves/using it to keep someone from going 2nd stage in the endgame. Really good for these kinds of things. Had a game where I was gonna go for a save on RPD but got intercepted, so I ran above the hooked person and activated reassurance to give my teammates more time to finish what they were doing and save.

Eh. Someone is injured for a while, get off the gen.
Then, yeah it's harder than Pain Resonance, for example. But it's also SO MUCH MORE difficult to setup. The generator needs to be kicked first, and after that there's a cooldown going.
If it's insanely difficult to setup of course the reward needs to be great.
It's not really that hard to set up tbh
The problem is as a surv you don't know eruption is there until someone is hit by it and then you can't ever 100% know how to avoid it. There needs to be a buffer like Pain res has where you can avoid one of the side effects while the regression happens

why are people complaining about hatch again?
Argument boils down to people don't like slugging for 4k but it's necessary as counterplay to hatch
There's some disagreements here and there but that's the gist. Half the thread is some back and forth with the words LMAO repeated over and over bc implying your laughing at someone's argument makes it less valid apparently

You're going to lose gens. Only Blight/Nurse can get away with losing very little gens early on
Don't sweat the first 2 or so gens, unless survivors all spawn together or you have corrupt - you can't pressure all 4 at once

You will be able to create the ticket the same way as you always have done, nothing has changed. The only thing that has changed is that you won't be able to put the Steam 64ID/Name onto the report form, but we tie that up on our end.
Does this mean we can report epic games store cheaters properly now also? It felt impossible to do so as a Steam player last patch due to not being able to see a profile, their ID or their name

I'd be okay with a rework as well. I typically see knockout with really nasty builds (sweaty builds). The builds are usually expose perk heavy like hex: haunted grounds-undying etc. When I get matches like this I see it as the killer probably got trolled in a game prior and is taking it out on the next lobby xD.
For a Killer who's playing "Normally" (Hooking people, chasing, defending gens and so on), the perk is pretty worthless. Knock Out does nothing if you're going for multiple hooks and keeping slugging to a minimum.
When I play I typically do tactical slugging and I'm not running a perk to make that slightly better when I could run a perk that might actually win me a game.
There's 1 killer who I think Knock Out is pretty good on, and that's Hag. Nobody else really.

Gates are never too far apart. RPD used to have this issue. Big note on used to.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3164077#Comment_3164077
Then camping and tunneling should be removed as it rewards failure, or slugging for the 4k, as that rewards failure.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3164080#Comment_3164080
Oh yeah, but especially in red ranks, you would need to slug in a 2v1 to get enough emblems to get the double pip for adept. That is kinda the issue. You can have a good game of 10 minutes, kill 3 survivors and 1 escaping through hatch and you'd still not get the killer adept. While you could have a game of 8 minutes, kill 2 survivors, slug the 3rd one and then scour the map for the 4th to get the adept.
Camping and Tunnelling rewards failure how, exactly? Mind explaining your conclusion there?
A Nurse tunnelling a dude through their 3 hooks at 5 gens doesn't seem like failure on the Killer's part to me
-
Knock out is a horrible perk
It punishes solo teams heavily while doing nothing against coordinated teams/SWFs.
It encourages an unhealthy playstyle (Heavy slugging) but even then it doesn't actually make slugging that much stronger most of the time.
It needs a complete rework imo, Knock Out is the killer version of Calm Spirit - a perk developers keep daisy chaining new effects onto in hopes that it becomes good and people use it.

"Non participation is one of the threats you face as survivor it’s part of the game. The counter to non-participation mechanics is your team mates help you."
This is blatantly false. If you're hooked, you still participate in the game, if you have teammates to pick you up, you are still participating in the game. If you are hooked and a teammate is being chased, you are participating in the game. You can crawl, you can recover, you can suicide. This gives your teammates an increased chance of escape or an increased chance of escaping. If you are slugged and everyone else is dead, you are no longer participating in the game. The final survivor cannot really pick you up, you are simply waiting to bleed out.
In a 2v1 and the killer slugging for the 4k, you are no longer participating. You have no control over your death.
So yeah, the only solution to this is to punish the killer to prevent this.
The bleedout timer isnt a solution, its an outdated mechanic. Otherwise DC'ing is a solution too.
Yeah bleedout basically only exists as an anti-hostage mechanic, it's kinda dumb that it needs to be a thing but some players would play Killer and abuse the hell out of a no bleedout timer DBD just to spite survivors.
Same reason EGC is a thing, it's the killer equivalent
-
Run full altruism builds, not 100% off-meta but really fun
Something like: Desperate Measures, No One Left Behind, Borrowed Time and maybe Reassurance if you have it
Been running this recently and it's fun
-
I believe it's only for a rush where you don't swing/hit something

Simplify by adding more holes everywhere and making the map be a dead-end half the time or a drop-down because you got chased wrong so now get killed if you dont have balanced! peak map design
They kind of had the right idea in some places by adding holes in the wall that connect parts together
But they also created more deadends with each variant, it's arguably even easier to be boxed in now because the 'dead-end' sides of the map have gens that spawn there
Also who the hell thought 2 gens being able to spawn in the middle was a good idea??? Like jesus
-
Kinda sad that one of their big points on reworking the map was removing dead-ends
Only to add more dead-ends depending on the variant you are playing, most heinously the east side of the west wing variant has a huge dead end with the closed shutter door

I'm actually speechless.
It's kinda funny, we were all under the impression the perk was working as intended
So nobody reported it as a bug, which meant it never got fixed until the programmer made a similar perk and noticed.
Not faulting him for fixing the bug but hopefully the designers ask him to make it how it was previously (He did say in the tweet that it's up to them, so there's hope!)

They took the 2nd most-used survivor perk and cranked it up to 11, while ALSO putting a BETTER version in the base game for free. So you can play without BT and get more value than you used to have, or use BT and get an insane value that will give your target a 100% free escape every time.
It's kind of a joke. It'd be like if, instead of 2.5% regression from kicking gens, killers got 30% regression after hooking a survivor automatically AND a further 30% if you use Pop Goes the Weasel.
BT basically became a required perk pre-basekit though wouldn't you agree?
Like you remember how easy tunnelling and camping was when it was perk based and wasn't there?

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3160779#Comment_3160779
Also, I'm going to be honest. As someone that does play a lot of survivor, they know that body blocking with endurance is "rude" and they risk getting tunneled for it. I think in 5k hours of survivor and killer, I've maybe HARD body blocked with it 3 times, because someone came back for me on death hook in EGC or something, and I didn't want them to die for having altruism. But I knew the risks. I'm a very chill killer, and I go for 12 hooks if at all possible, but if a survivor hard body blocks me or forces DS on me when I'm being a "wholesome killer" and not tunneling? They can go back on the hook, and they should know to expect that. I don't see this as an issue whatsoever.
It sucks that you don't get a healthy survivor as an insta down killer, but you get someone closer to death or dead because they asked to be tunneled.
It's not really about it being rude tbh, it's a smart thing to do and both survs and killers know this for the most part
I don't have a problem tunnelling people through endurance, but it's def worth thinking about when you make long timed-based endurance perks that people will try to abuse them like that.
From a balance POV It's fine really, I think most ppl would just say it's annoying

Yep, and the crappy part is you don't know which one burned it so you can't really make sure the person going for it is the one actually making progress unless you completely throw the game.
Since Library of Pain is now a thing of the past I won't get mad if I'm sent to RPD tbh
I might just make an annoyed sound and play the match. I'd rather play RPD than Cowshed honestly. At least RPD is cool

@BreadSilence said:
One thing I have noticed in the roughly 15 games or so that I played today is that whenever someone would go down after doing a trade, the killer never once slugged them to go tunnel the person that just got off hook, which was way more common when basekit BT was only 5 seconds. Not saying i won't run into any hardcore tunnelers eventually, but if today's matches have been any indication, I'd say the buff to 10 seconds was overall much healthier for the game.
Still saw quite a few campers though.
Yeah 10 seconds of moving at 110% speed is pretty good, so much distance gained from it - it makes sense that in your games Killers just took their trade instead of greeding for both.

At least you can farm that one. I'm at 7/10 - 1/10 naturally, 6/10 with one group I memed with and who constantly wanted me to yeet them around. You can also camp hooks to get it easily; throw the unhooker into the unhooked player, you can't miss.
Outbreak Breakout is just absurd. Not just 20 escapes on RPD, but 20 escapes where you personally opened the gates. I don't even want to play on RPD 20 times period. Ughhhhhh.
You need to open the gates as well????
BHVR please, I know you want people to play RPD and like it but this is not how you do it
Well if I see people burning RPD, I'm just gonna assume they want the achievement.
-
Have you seen the Wesker achievement yet?
The one that requires you slamming a survivor into another one 10 times?
Sheesh, who thought that was a good idea for an achievement

I can confirm that this doesn't stop them tunneling. There's nothing to worry about here. I unhooked a survivor while injured, the killer doubled back and the unhooked teammate used their entire 10s endurance to bodyblock the killer from chasing after me. I went down. End of story.
The point I was making wasn't that basekit BT makes tunnelling hard
It's that long endurance status effects can cause issues like this which is why careful consideration is needed. That's why I used OTR as the example bc no killer is waiting out 80s of endurance. It's just not happening
-
@ad19970 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3160779#Comment_3160779
In that case, just tunnel.
I don't know, I just don't think it's a big deal at all. I do think it's often enough possible to just ignore the bodyblocking survivor. And if not, well then you just want to tunnel again. It kind of also just encourages to stay near a hooked survivor, which is also good.
So yeah, I definitely do not see a problem here. I guess I wouldn't mind if they made it so survivors with endurance didn't have collision, but I don't think that's needed at the moment. Survivors needed help now, that was pretty obvious when looking at queue times. This tunneling nerf was at the very least a good start. I think the devs would be sabotaging themselves if they ever actually decreased the duration again. That would be so stupid.
I mean I think it's fine as well, kinda.
But you have to consider that Killers not trying to tunnel do get forced to by survivors who do this because whether we like it or not, it is 100% the smartest thing to do to force a killer to hit you and not your teammate.
It's like health state economy - an injured survivor being deep wounded outweighs a healthy survivor being injured or even downed
-
@ad19970 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3160727#Comment_3160727
I don't see how that is a problem though. The killer just doesn't need to tunnel, that's all.
Think about it like this:
You're playing an instadown killer like myers and a survivor unhooks somebody near you. As you go to punish them for their misplay, the person they unhooked is constantly bodyblocking you with OTR. You either hit them and eat the endurance which gives the healthy survivor more than enough time to make distance
Or you try to get past them which often doesn't work because bodyblocking killers isn't that hard.
It's not a bad play on the survivor end to do this, but it isn't quite fair because you're trying NOT to tunnel, but they are forcing you to.
-
@Tsukah said:
With BT I think it's around 20 seconds, that's crazy
@Laluzi said:
Yeah, it's really solid. I don't feel completely doomed when I'm unhooked in endgame without my OTR, and it's enough time to get out of basement, reach a tile, or even reach someone else if it's a snowball scenario. It's powerful and I feel like I can take off BT now and still do something helpful against a facecamper.
...BT's absolutely insane in its current state, though. Dear god. 20 seconds of invincibility and f a s t is a bit on the nutty side.
I do appreciate them making BT the perk not useless since it has to do something good enough to warrant people running it
But 20 seconds of endurance is, a lot. Def not viable to wait out if the survivors not just stood still.
Good thing if they are being tunnelled
Bad thing if they are trying to bodyblock.

Genuinely at the highest level it is actually a challenge, their is a bunch of mindgamable things that only VERY VERY good survivors have learned and used, and even when they do that it just adds an extra layer of fun for the nurse, its always a crazy fun experience when someone is actually good at dodging you, very fun mindgames and very rewarding.
I'm always learning new things, one thing I will say I enjoy about vsing Nurse players is many of them are different. They all don't play the exact same
Some like to make guesses/reads, others prefer to get LOS first or rely on certain perks for when they lose LOS
Just don't put me with the vpn nurse players pls, bad ping nurse players throw their weapon at you. It's nuts

I think Nurse is not that broken though and you can check my history I'm a survivor main.
The problem is more from the Nurse mains, who tend to be the most tryhard and unfun people to play against. And God knows how this game rewards tryharding to an excessive degree, there are so many things that are despised by the community and that the game still allows somehow (eg. bring Midwich offering + Starstruck, facecamping, excessively slugging for 4K etc.), in fact it even rewards the killer for it. THIS is the problem with this game is that you can get matched against a total d*ck and you have 0 way to prevent it apart from DC'ing.
As soon as Nurse is nerfed, Nurse mains will switch to the next OP killer+addon combination and the game won't be any better.
Jokes aside I mostly agree, like
Nurse's power does ignore a lot of what the game's designed around I.E The obstacles killers are designed to deal with but that doesn't automatically make her unbeatable or anything like that. Like you said there's so much cheese people can abuse with her to make playing against her just ridiculous
I also don't really understand the argument where people go like "Well people do well in tournaments vs Nurse" when all tournament teams play on comms, are coordinated and have probably the same if not more hours than the Nurse. They also practice in scrims or whatever they are called vs people playing Nurse so it makes sense.
I had a few games vs ranged addon nurses today and I have to say, the difference between pre nerf and post nerf is night/day. I actually managed to play the game vs a range nurse. It was a step in the right direction and I'm fine with Nurse to stay roughly where she is, maybe nerf Starstruck or something idk.

Ghostface is better overall
Myers is better for snowballing with, a single T3 can end a game in an instant
Ghostface is more about playing a smart macro play, juggling multiple 99s and so on. Ghostface's Stealth is also just better. Myers is a tall killer so it's really easy to see him coming most of the time. His early game is way better. A good myers early game is getting out of t1 quickly. A good ghostface early game is having multiple people 99'd/marked and capitalising on it
Not to mention (not that it happens often), Myers can run out of his stalk, Ghostface can't.
