Reworking the map is a better option. You just can’t not have pallets.

Yeah but you've seen them rework maps... the best they've done is making swamp smaller years ago. They somehow made loops bigger on cold wind, made gideons god pallet city, basically kept ormond the same because the chance of you getting a pallet at a filler is still 80%.

  • @Junylar said:

But still leave these bs hits through windows and pallets untouched. Like yeah, survivors totally have no legit reason to DC, not even after getting hit from 7 meters away after a window vault.

Well most of those are due to bhvrs ######### servers. They somehow make the game unsynced for you while making it a buff to have more ping.

  • Wait what? how is he complaining about boons

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

NOED just feels really cheap. It's a perk that activates because the survivors finished their objective, not because the killer did anything to earn it.

Personally I refuse to use it as a killer and if you as a survivor can run a killer for multiple gens but then get instadowned at the end simply because you performed well and allowed the rest of your team to finish the gens and reach endgame, that just feels really lame. I enjoy using, and enjoy playing against devour because it must be earned and can be earned at any point in the match, even if it has a similar effect to noed at the end of the day.

Also, going out of your way to cleanse all 5 totems is not good counterplay. It's just spending time doing something to prevent a perk that may not even be in the game. And it's a bad idea now anyways because you're denying your teammates the opportunity to use boons if you break all the totems.

I mean.. deli is also earned through the killer doing their objective so idk what your point is there. Also I think you neglect that gens can go just like that. Like I love having a 30 second chase and have 3 different gens be 50% possibly even more with toolboxes. I also find it funny since NOED is still technically earned by playing most of the trail 3 perked for a possible power spike at the end. Also you do realize that noed can't override a boon totem right? so all you would have to do is cleanse a couple totems and bless the rest then boom do the final gen no noed.

BT, don't tunnel and it has zero effect.

DH, fair enough of a complaint.

Unbreakable, one time use only matters if you try to greed.

Deliverance, earned with a decent chance of never triggering.

DS, already hard nerfed and only matters if you tunnel.

Adrenaline, again it was earned. They finished their objective.

Swf with comms, also a fair complaint.

So we actually only have one second chance perk.

As for Noed, you did nothing to earn the speed boost/insta down. In other words it feels cheap. Basically it's the killer DH. Personally I'd rework Noed, but it's still a fair perk. At least in my opinion.

Bt is a legit second chance anti tunnel perk.

Unbreakable is a "here your team ######### up and the killer is snowballing efficiently so heres a get out of jail free card" with up to 4 being on a team

Deli is still a second chance perk with an earning requirement and can actually be time efficient

Ds is still a second chance as the killer decides to tunnel so you get off their shoulder for free

Adrenaline is still a 2nd chance with a much greater earning requirement

    There fixed it for you

Do not complain, at the very least your Demo already has 3 skins.

Freddy, on the other hand, has nothing. Not even a blighted skin for that matter.

Thats because the license holders for freddy are really stingy on giving them out. We're even lucky quentin got his face changed.

  • @JohnWeak said:

That game is full of exploits and devs don't fix them...

For exemple, Blight and Oni only counters are pallets of course but even more small angle turns. Well, on the paper as both have exploits (DPI and unnatural movement exploits) that give them the possibility to do 180 degree turns during their powers...

    Oni exploit :

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-tA2Zu1UuI

    Blight exploit :

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sp_0PCdSOo

At that point, it's pretty much cheating. Finding ways to do things that you shouldn't be able to is called exploiting.

How on earth cranking up DPI allows 180 degree turns while if you play at normal DPI you can't do it ? There is clearly a problem there. What about console players that are gamepad limited ?

I'm pretty sure there are other exploits i don't know about but well that's the two i see more and more.

You do realize blight 180s in a single flick are dead now right? even with 16k dpi and throwing my mouse at the speed of light i cant get a 180 without pre turning. Quick edit: It is legit impossible to 180 without pre-turning, and by pre turning im talking about already looking like 45 degrees plus a 90 flick with the extra bit of turning at the end of the flick

  • @danielmaster87 said:

The best collision he's ever had was when he first came out, but now he just slides off everything.

I would say no. Reason is because sliding allows much more creativity around tiles then bump bump bump. Plus blight already was super slippery around certain tiles and new collision didnt fix it. Now yes i believe sliding off of large rocks and tree stumps should be fixed but thats about it.

Thing is, a good Survivor with Dead Hard will play the more unsafe and rewarding way because they know they can get away with it

A bad survivor using Dead Hard will use it to "fix their mistakes", and in that case theyre probably not that hard to catch anyway

Hmm yes i mind game the ######### outta survivor and they e key for distance... Totally not them intentionally playing ballsy

no they balance around new players. hence why ruin go changed to be where it is now. Ruin in low ranks will get tons of value cause they will move at the sound of a tr or spine chill proc getting free value but in high ranks it either goes in 20 second or it stays up the entire match but gens still get done fast

My friend told me yesterday that most of his games, the Killer just facecamped/tunneled the first person that got unhooked at 5 gens. He then told me it was happening during all his game that night. It was also happening to me the whole weekend when playing. The Killer just seems to really want a 4k every game, so he basically tunnels someone at 5 gen. It’s not fun and it becames boring to play if it happens every game. My friend already told he wasn’t going to play anymore if BHVR doesn’t do anything about it and it’s sad that it still happening every time. Is it also happening to you as well when playing Survivor? BHVR, please do something about it!

You do realize if they do something about camping and tunneling... they would need to change how survivor works completely.

Seriously, it's one of the most ridiculous powers in the game. If you get hit by a bottle, expect to be downed.

There's literally no counterplay after getting hit by a bottle:

    1 - You can't see #@!t

2 - You can't loop around anything because of the slow

3 - He can just keep spamming bottles faster than a huntress can throw hatchets

4 - If he brings the finger add-on it's game over, you're going down with a hit and should just ######### on hook and move on

Changes I'd make to clown's power:

1 - Increase reload cooldown or make him reload on lockers like huntress and cringester

It just makes no sense that he can do this while the above have to search for a locker. It doesn't even make sense lorewise, he just CREATES bottles out of nothing

    2 - Reduce slow duration

    Description.

3 - Rework his power and make a new one that's actually fun to play against

This would be the best choice for the game's health, a total rework to something more fair and more thematic (seriously, why would a clown thrown random bottles around - and WHY would it SLOW you?)

I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one who's upset with the current state of clown.

It's quite literally loop then when he throws a bottle W to another tile. Idk why he would need to reload at lockers, that whole design is a flaw on a killer like him.

that many survivors feel forced to play some games when it is enabled.

Everytime a survivor is early camped or tunneled, it's 1 and sometimes even 2 survivors DCing.

It shows that some behaviors, especially camping/tunneling 1st hook are considered toxic and totally unfun by the survivors.

Haven't seen one killer DCing for the last days while i have seen at least 20 survivors DC. It means a lot.

Funny how when people dc against me... its usually due to their teams mistakes of rushing unhooks without giving me the chance to leave and so I down their entire team or just dc'ing cause they messed up their dh or couldnt get their deliverance.

It is one side to play on this game. That is what playing killer means to me. Just like survivor, it is one side of two to play in dbd.

Morals do apply always, they are universal and they don't vanish in any circumstance or situation. Some people stick to the implicit rules that are based on morals. Some people do not care for the implicit rules unless they benefit themselves. People that define themself as a good or decent person probably tend to stick to those rules more then others. If someone throws trash on the street it is not selfish to tell them that they should clean it up as it is bad for the enviorment and nature. You might not like people telling you that your behaviour is not ok. But you gotta endure that if you decide to violate moral rules.

And before you get started on "but this is just a game, it is not reality": Yes, it is a game, but you and the people that you play with/against are real. Yes, you playing any role will not gain or loose you anything. But yes, your behaviour is as real as the people that you are playing with/against. How you behave is as important as how you communicate with those people. Just like you wouldn't throw a door into someone that tries to walk through it behind you, you shouldn't behave your worst just because you feel like no one can see or judge.

When did I say that playing normal is selfish? I did not. Though I guess what you call "normal" is somewhere else on the scale from nice to disgusting where I would put it.

And again: You can play however you like, but you will have to take responsibility for your decisions and actions. And I and anyone that feels like it, is free to judge your behaviour however we like. Sorry if you don't like that, but your actions have consequences. Always.

So I ask again.. how is playing the killer role selfish when its design to kill by any means necessary. The whole goal is to kill all survivors so making one person die faster than another wouldn't be "bad morals". Like how many people actually go into a pvp game and legit wonder "Man I wonder if the enemy team cares about my fun". Like literally no one does that

  • @tennmio said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2586172#Comment_2586172

If someone behaves selfish. What would you call that? If someone continues to behave selfishly what would you call that person?

If someone has no reason and no gain from behaving selfishly but still behaves selfishly, how would you interpret that?

Those questions make no sense. What does the role killer mean to you? Cause by what you're saying it seems like it means baby sitter to you. I personally like to play the killer role of killing survivors not limiting myself because one person was selfish. Me continuing to play normally never makes me selfish. If anything I think its selfish to think someone should play nice because of "morals" it's an online game you will people that have little to no morals for other because they try to win.

  • @tennmio said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2586104#Comment_2586104

Nobody tells you how to play. Btw what is it with the I paid for it so I can do whatever I want thing? Morals don't care if you paid for something or not. Moral right behaviour is right in any circumstance. You write as if anyone forces you to play in a specific way. No one does that. You want to act selfish, go ahead. Be an egoist. No one can stop you. You have all the power to behave however you wish.

Doesn't that make you happy? What you don't get to ask is how others judge your behaviour. You gotta live with that.

I never said they told me how to play, I said that they suggest that I play a way to make it more fun for them. Also I don't get how playing a certain way = you are an egoist/selfish I guess I can turn that moral question around on you.

It is quite sad that so many killers are offended by the mere suggestion that they show a modicum of empathy for people placed in unfair situations through no fault of their own.

But then some killers can only handle a 3v1 anyway, hence why tunnelling is so prevalent.

Its also the fact of them suggesting that we play the way they want when we paid for the game... Like why should I have to placebo myself just so you can get 2000 more bp when its the dc'd persons fault the game went that way?

  • @Junylar said:

The killers demanded the hatch nerf, and the devs were quick to deliver. The key still can be used by the last survivor if the killer closes the hatch, and even then if the killer patrols the hatch - you won't be able to escape since there is now an animation of opening the hatch, with progress bar. So we now have an item that is usable only one trial out of ~30, probably the most useless item in the game so far.

"quick to deliver" if 2 years is quick

I find Brutal Strength isn't that useful except for playing killers where:

    1. The survivor is predicting your attacks and are going to predrop the pallet (killers like Executioner, Huntress, Deathslinger...).
    2. You can't down them across the pallet.

Pyramid Head can hit across the pallet, so can Huntress, Trickster, and Nemesis, so predropping doesn't inhibit them quite so much.

Deathslinger, Plague can injure across pallet but can't down (unless Plague has corrupt bile).

Killers like Oni (in blood rage mode), Blight, Cannibal, Hillbilly, Nemesis can just break the pallet relatively easily without having to kick.

Killers like Hag, Nurse, Doctor, Spirit, Legion (in frenzy mode), Pig can possibly avoid having to deal with the pallet at all using their powers, going around, through, or over the pallet.

Wraith has add ons to break pallets faster when cloaked, so those builds don't really need Brutal Strength.

So who are the killers that really benefit or can use Brutal Strength in their builds? To me, I see Trapper, Clown, Wraith (without the fast pallet breaking add on), Legion (outside frenzy), Myers, Nightmare (Freddy), Possibly Plague, Twins, Cenobite?

But would you recommend Brutal Strength on any of them? I'm highly considering it for Clown, but maybe Enduring is objectively better?

good for killers that are m1 based with little to no mobility so myers, trapper, pig, (I know i said no mobility but oni), some people use it on freddy. Just dont use it on killers like blight or billy where after they break the pallet they can catch up.

Entity doesn't care about both. Entity gathers survivors and killers for entertainment.

False, the entity gathers killers cause it feeds on the hopes of survivors until they either die or become killers themselves. So its taking the killers to do its job for them.

  • @Foxy_Teltac said:

Unless you're playing Billy or Demo STBFL is overrated compared to other perks you can run, I wanna address the killers besides Demo that are famous for their STBFL synergy.

Trapper: Trapper can get good use out of this perk, but you could use something like Agitation or something else to lock an area down, or just slowdown gens, it's a good choice on Trapper but imo it gets outclassed.

Doctor: This is an ok perk for Doc, I know Otz got his streak with this on Doctor but if you don't pair it with Discordance, it's not that good, this is also an ok perk with the Restraint class of addons but eh, there's other things that are better for Doctor, like Sloppy for instance, it stacks up with Madness in terms of wasted time meanwhile Save might shorten a chase.

Pig: If they see you going into crouch at a loop, they're gonna run away and do their best to force an M1 out of you.

Deathslinger: Due to his movement speed, he can't really afford to ignore someone all game unless you're cracked out of your mind.

Nemisis: This is especially one that I heavily disagree with. The tentacle is extremely good at pretty much any loop if you use it right and if you do nothing but M1 all game, you will suffer massively due to you not tiering up infection and not being able to get your hits sooner. At low loops, you are nearly as lethal as Huntress or Trickster and going for an M1 just for the pallet to get dropped is horrifically bad. Nemi's tentacle is underrated when it comes to being good with it because that 3rd health state doesn't matter, you're a quickdraw Pyramid Head that can and will get use out of your power at any point you have LoS at short range. If you replace Save with a good info perk like Lethal or Infectious, your snowball game will be way better than if you had Save.

Now I know you saw me mention Billy being on the same level as Demo for Save value and I know it looks crazy but I'll explain: When it comes to the best Billy builds, Bamboozle is a common ally of Billy's due to windows being his hard counter. Save is just a replacement option for Bamboozle so that when the M1 gets forced, you can get back onto them faster with a follow-up chainsaw to catch up.

Bro who tf uses stbfl on billy. Im sorry but you have an insta down and 230% in an ability. Why would anyone waste a perk slot on stbfl on an insta down killer that also has mobility.

dafuq T3 range is insane that would make T3 again useless.

T3 was never useless. Getting to tier 3 is a legit power spike which shouldnt be a thing on a killer especially when it takes them so long to get their tiers. Oni's is actually good because its 60 seconds of faster speed and insta down.

This is terrible. Why not keeping her 4 traps. This is not iri add on

They nerfed tampered timer and they nerfed the box search...

I am so disapointed she will be now a z tier killer

Well thats the point of iri addons. (To my understanding) BHVR wanted iri addons to be a playstyle changing addon instead of a direct buff to their power. Now why they suddenly started changing this around oni idk why but they did.

You equated camping to a legitimate strategy/game play.

By the same token, jumping through windows is a legitimate strategy/game play. The devs put windows there and they’re used as such. But for some reason, doing so indefinitely is deemed not to be fair or legitimate.

One style of game play of being penalized over an other.

Well yes but windows are all over maps unless you got some unlucky spawns on shelter woods. The killer can only camp up to 8 hooks but survivors can vault many different windows. The difference is one is literally uncounterable and the other isn't. Just imagine if house of pain, disturbed ward didn't have entity block. Yeah no everyone would run there every chase because it would make them legit invincible. The whole reason entity blocker exists is to EVEN give killers a chance to catch survivors. I think you vastly overestimate campings power compared to windows not getting blocked.

  • @Eeni said:

Ah yes, vaulting through the same window was annoying/frustrating, therefore block that window because that was abusing the system. It was bad behavior.

Never said anything about windows. Plus entity blocker is to make the game more fair for killer cause imagine any strong window with no entity blocker.

No, PVP games are not where you have to "earn your fun". In most pvp games both/all sides are balanced, and are fun from the start, and there are clear routes for improvement. You earn how well you do, but the fun is always there. Face-camping is more like spawn camping, which most good games remove as an option. The person on the hook has no way to earn their fun. The face-camper takes away their potential fun, just like spawn campers. They put themselves in a position to ruin someone else's game. Even if the other 3 people do gens, that person has a bad time.

Idk about you but I find fun when I actually have a challenge from the enemy team. When's the last time you played an fps and wondered "will the enemy team play how I want so I can have fun" Exactly never that's the definition of earning your fun. I have never met a single person who plays a pvp game and just has fun for just playing it. And I'm gonna come with a classic survivor main response of "if you're not having fun just get better and don't go down" Like tell me how much more fun is it to hold m1 on gens than sitting on hook? See not much more fun. Also before you say something about ruining someone else's game take into consideration that this game costs money, they can play how they want.

  • @illusion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2567288#Comment_2567288

But that's not a mistake they can learn from. It is really something you need to be told. It's not like the tutorial covers it They will just play, have a bad time then, eventually, quit. Games are supposed to be fun. Also, it requires all 4 players to commit to it, every single game, and that just doesn't happen. Frankly, i see it as a scummy way to play. They are deliberately ruining a match for the player on the hook. On top of that it leads to more players suiciding or DC'ing on the hook, and making the game harder for the remaining 3. I see no problem with the game de-incentivizing face-camping. Enough to make it a bad primary strategy, but not enough that it overly hurts situational, tactical camping.

Tbh if you don't have the common sense to do gens when you see a face camping killer then idk what to tell you. Also pvp game are games you usually earn your fun, not just a "play to have fun" type of game. Now if its a story mode game like GoW you will have fun if you like story/adventure games.

  • @illusion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2567259#Comment_2567259

True. But I have to acknowledge that new players aren't going to know this, and will become discouraged, and that it is not fun for the person being camped. Plus, some survivors just can't wrap their head around the concept, and so the killer is not consistently punished.

Well that's the thing... new players are supposed to learn from their mistakes? Lets not punish the killer for taking advantage of players that have less knowledge than them

  • @illusion said:

While I am not adverse to camping killers being punished in some way, the biggest thing that needs to change is the mindset of some survivors. If the killer is face-camping, don't reward them by trying to go for rescues you will never get. Do the gens, and make them pay. Nothing more frustrating, as a survivor, than to see your teammates just throwing themselves at a hook that is being camped. At best, the person on the hook dies and no gens got done, so the killer gets to do it all again on another survivor, and you have even fewer people to work on gens. At worst, there ends up being a pile of bodies lying under the hook, and the killer gets an easy 4k. Survivors that keep going for futile rescue attempts, rather than doing gens, are responsible for making it a viable strategy for lazy killers.

So by the first and second sentences.... being punished for camping is to do gens asap to give him a reason to leave. So there really is no need to make a punishment for camping when a whole entire killer was dedicated to the playstyle.

Because Bubba cannot sprint across the Map with 230% Movement Speed.

The Overheat is justified, Billy had and still has the best mobility in the game and an fairly easy to use Instadown. It should be obvious that a Killer who is called "the most balanced Killer" by the Community in 2018 is not "the most balanced Killer" in 2020 when the game got much easier for Killer.

And I think, more people would play Billy if they would revert the changes to his animation and fix the size of his Chainsaw-Hitbox. It is massive, which is frustrating as Survivor, but also makes him crush into things far more often.

But the animations and the FOV are the main things. Second can be somewhat fixed with Shadowborn (at least my Billy-experience got better after using Shadowborn), but it is a Perk Slot for something which was not needed before.

I would say he is still the most balanced. The only thing that got easier over the years is survivor getting knocked down a few notches when they removed double pallets, vacuum pallets, any direction fast vaults. All that just made other killers able to get kills other than nurse or billy. But especially now he could definitely go without overheat. Cause apparently using your chainsaw twice is "overusing your power"

  • @R2k said:

All I'm seeing is a salty player who sends salt.in chat. I would understand if you were playing plague or legion but nemesis is really strong so idk. You have ruin Undying with zombies so I don't think the game went as fast as you say

Bro he didnt even have marvins blood. Nemesis is not even viable until t3 what are you on?

If 'second chance' perks didnt exist then thered be barely any escapes. Youre up against a killer which is faster, have infinite use of their power, has blood lust and you have a map which has a finite number of pallets which once gone leave you with not much if anything to use.

Escape rates are already poor compared to kill rates and thats with 'second chance' perks.... imagine how bad it'd be without them. Theyre in the game because theyre needed.

Fun fact otz did an experiment with a 4 man with no perks and just items.... needless to say you dont need 2nd chance perks to escape but adding them just makes survivor more op than they already need to be. They got knocked down from their god role when infinites and half the pallets were removed... how about me knock them down from demi-god role to immortal, the same as killer

If it were that easy, don't you think every single game in existence would have a perfect anti-cheat? I'm not saying DbD's is perfect, but you have to know it's not as simple as "thing happens when it shouldn't".

I mean... some mc servers have it. The only difference is the moderators spectate the person to make sure if they're cheating or not.

Yeah, lets ruin the experience of someone who just played the game. Go for it!

I mean the killer is also playing the game... while playing on the factually weaker side so we get to enjoy camping :)

Being allowed to play a game is literally the basic of basic. That's why the discussion is penalize them, if they want to keep doing it then that sounds like a killer problem for taking advantage of game mechanics.

I mean they technically were playing the game but strategies bottle neck that which camping is a valid strategy and shouldn't be punished for.

I can not count the number of times killers have hung around camping players preventing other survivors from helping, knocking everyone down & leaving us to bleed out, and other BS.

If I DC, I get penalized. Why can’t killers also get penalized for their bad behavior?

Ah yes doing a valid strategy = bad behavior

I feel the only people who complain about Spirit's stand still mind game are the ones who run into her face instead of breaking LOS and getting distance of her. 🤡

Ah yes make distance while she's still not in phase so she sees you running away and still phases to catch up 🤡. Even as a killer main I can see how what you just said makes no sense.

I've know that people who hack auric cells are actually banned with an impressive high priority lol

Yeah because apparently to bhvr, losing money is more important than losing players
