They also said that they listen to the community. And from what i see they just don't want to do a quality of life change...

Speaking of QoL stuff, when are they going to make it where when survivors die they can't see the killers perks and ad ons till end of game? So that SWF can't tell the others what perks the killer has when they die.

I mean that's a good price to pay for tunneling I don't see why you want it gone. Don't want to happen? Stop tunneling. :)

    Huh.
So tunneling solo players doesn't come at a cost then.

But you know you can hit ESC to see all offerings used for this match right?

    Yes i do.

  • Show the Offering on the HUD as well.

  • The Tank from the Left 4 Dead series.

Bash through Pallets without effort, but have quite the slow movement speed. (Not slower than Survivors, but just slower.)
Also give him a gigantic terror radius.

    Power is Rocks.
When pressing the Power button, the Tank takes a big boulder from the ground and throws it.

I know my idea isn't that good. I wouldn't support it BUT I know changes need to be made to help new player coming into dbd. This self care suggestion is a little drastic but as we speak there are countless (about 30) new players fed up with the brick wall like progression system which newbies face.

I don't mind more people at all.
There must be way better ways than granting free abilities though.

    Because killers dont do that?

You looped me/tbagged me/sabotaged a hook....get blocked in the basement lolz

You're talking as if i say Killers are immune.
Lol, you assume way too easily.

@Boss I know that they are inexperienced but not having reasonable access to stuff makes it harder for newbies. This game isn't too new player friendly and that's my problem.

Self Care is now base for Claudette.
If they don't know how to heal and want to find out, they can just browse different Survivors, to see what everyone can do.
Then they'll get to reading about Claudette and see that she has a heal at base.
And then they'll try her. (Or not, whatever.)

Heck, when you first start playing Survivor, you're more than likely gonna check out all Survivors anyway, see who you wanna play as first.
And you'd read about Claudette healing herself.

I'm still not convinced you got a good idea here.

Sadly the forum accounts are not linked to steam/ps4 and there's no way for the devs to tell who's who.

If they go through with it, they'll get banned.
If they don't, they're attention seekers.

  • @AshleyWB said:
@Boss it's because its a lot harder for new players to get healed than it is for older more experienced players.
They have less opportunities to heal and have to rely on teammates to get healed to healthy.
Tutorials in truth are not so useful.

Yeah, it's harder because they are inexperienced.
That's the point of videogames in general: You play more and gain more experience.
A lack of experience isn't a good reason.
And tutorials not being useful is a nice opinion you have.

    R.I.P color blind people

Some color blind people are already suffering from certain aura colors.
The idea isn't bad, what's missing from the game in general is being able to give your auras the colors you want.

  • I don't get it.
Your reason to make Self Care a normal ability is because, according to you without anything to back it up, new players don't know how to heal, even though there's tutorials and loading screen tips.
If you're concerned about new players not being able to heal, just tell them to check out the tutorials, there's tons of other tips there too.
Heck, if they're not braindead, they'll go: "How do i heal? I should check out tutorials."

Also, the more obvious reason: Self Care at base is not what the game needs.

Not even SWF, randoms can simply add eachother and tell eachother about the Killer's equipment when someone dies.

True enough, it's a simple change that can make a bit of a difference balance wise.

    Trust me, i want it.
And the devs say they want to make it happen.
But y'know, they also said they would re-visit Nurse's Add-on arsenal, for example.
    So yeah...

  • To be fair, it's technically not out on PC yet.
This is moreso comparable to playing a demo.

As of the release date: Dunno.

  • Not even SWF, randoms can simply add eachother and tell eachother about the Killer's equipment when someone dies.

On a side note: Is this confirmed an exploit? Or was this an exaggeration to lure in readers?

Currently it's the new ptb gimmick against the legion were he can't kill you with his power and if your hit twice it's a double stun so they never heal and stand right behind him mending as he looks for others

Hmm, sounds more like the devs just didn't think it through.

  • On a side note: Is this confirmed an exploit? Or was this an exaggeration to lure in readers?

  • They will...
    Soon...

  • There's no ingame brightness slider for a reason.

  • Not here to change your mind.
Just saying that i rarely ever have issues with the current system, in this game and other P2P games.

  • @The_Crusader said:
    Delete.

But really I don't know. Anything in its current form is too powerful.

If it really has to be in the game and it has to involve the survvior stabbing the killer....perhaps make them wobble uncontrollably in pain. Boil over is 75%? Make this 200% for 5 seconds. That way it cant be abused by swf for flashlight saves like the last idea could, but it could really screw the killer over.

Or have it randomize the killers movement controls for that carry period. I.e. W becomes left, D becomes forward etc

So far, the devs seem very intent on keeping it in the game.
While i'd normally argue to have it be replaced with something cool and useful, i'd also not rather try to push something that won't move.

My ideas also usually have flaws in them.
Too bad the community always only points those out instead of trying to fix them. :p

  • Funny.
I NEVER get a gg from Survivors that died.
    NEVER!

I wonder why your Killers won't either...

  • Cause they want to create fun, not balance.
And yeah, i do get enjoyment out of moving fast. (Wraith with 2 Windstorms is pretty delicious.)
But what's not really fun is a Killer not being to do what their title suggests.

The devs seem to disagree, but it's not even out yet, so i'll keep any other opinions for now.

  • @MisterCremaster said:
Out of curiosity, are these "Camping" threads all so common because of the after game chat toxicity on PC? Because, and I'm not trying to sound cynical, but I don't get what the big deal is. I asked about these silly "rules of etiquette" on here, and the consensus was "play how you want." So, is it just because killers are tired of taking textual abuse after games? (PS4 player here, and rarely get post-game messages at all)

I'll give an example of how PC goes...

I've had my profile private for over 1000 hours of DbD playing time now, cause i got sick of the spamming of my message inbox.
I tried 2 days ago to give the community another chance.
Literally the 3rd match and i got UMFG CAMPAH on my profile.

No joke: If you play this game seriously, you'll get those daily.

I believe the devs said that you'll sometimes have such unfair moments in the game, that they're a part of the game.

Of course. That happens in any context. I've had the power go out in my city while I was playing. Lost that trial, lost a boatload of BP. It wasn't fair, but ######### happens.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • I believe the devs said that you'll sometimes have such unfair moments in the game, that they're a part of the game.

  • Since you're always facing competitive Survivors and only VERY few seem to try fun builds and gameplay styles, Killers need to be able to respond with actual good Killers.

  • @kdogg727_PS4 said:
Yea I can understand that thats why it should be a dlc or for oric cells pay to unlock your favorite killers mori Id buy that for $10.00-$20.00

    You'd buy that.
    I wouldn't.
I WOULD, if they were just new regular Mori animations. (And if i like what i see in the preview before buying.)

  • I always look at the Offerings.

  • That would be a lot of effort on the devs' part, which won't make them any money & will only happen EXTREMELY rarely.

  • @Avariku said:
good for you, you outed yourself as a toxic troll with nothing constructive to add and instead adds idiotic posts for the sole purpose of pissing off people who have had enough of your killer main crap.

pat yourself on the back a little more and see if maybe you could one day be productive instead of a living/breathing meme?

Now hey, living memes are awesome asf.

  • I like most Hex stuff cause they're always super weak in that way.
But i've seen that last Hex suggestion before and i dislike it heavily.
Any Hex Perks that you want to hide from Survivors will now not be secret at all, cause you're busy setting the Totems while they gotta wait for you to finish that, signaling you have a Hex Perk.
I also believe they might be too buffed with all of that together, but i'd have to see that.

As for Exit Gates, Skill Checks on those is silly.
With Hex Totems, you're messing around with curses, it's why you don't just kick them over.
But this is just holding down a lever.

  • Going up against Hillbillies does that for me. :)

The sound of the Chainsaw does it for me.
And not just hearing it, but hearing it globally, then it suddenly gains a direction and gets louder REAL fast.

Makes me go: Gotta get into hiding quick! :p

  • @EntityDispleased said:
Discordance is probably the only viable one since it's free information. The other two are highly situational and Mad Grit is more of a noob friendly perk imo.

I do like the sound of Iron Grasp, Mad Grit & Agitation though, like a "Just for fun" combination.

  • I don't like any Perks on him.

  • Because the former doesn't anger Survivors.
    The latter would.

  • One thing that bothers me is that genrush (Yes, it's an actual thing) profits greatly from the current DS.
Even if you always get them within 10 seconds, there's 4 Survivors who can run it, adding up to 40 seconds.
And that's not counting pick up time and not counting walking time with non-Obsessions.

    40 seconds.
    Is NOT.
    A small amount.

Dribbling is not always an option either: When chasing them and there's no hook nearby, you have to either let them go and down them somewhere else if you want to dribble, or take the hit.

I'd prefer for them to look at genrush first. (And no, not just more gentime, that's boring asf.)
If DS is fine after that, then fine. I'd still despise DS, but i'd tolerate it for balance.
But with a DS nerf, they'll just rush at the same rate.

  • @The_Crusader said:
Lmao killer mains crying because they cant camp with him.

God forbid any of you play the game properly.

    Lol, properly.
MFW you think that's a fact.

  • Well it seems to me that you should not be able to lift a person off a hook while getting slashed on your back.
No matter how much you want to sacrifice yourself.

  • It's supposed to be both informative & obstructing, just like how spamming in phase 2 is supposed to be annoying.
I myself don't actually mind the bubble though, doesn't bother me like it does to most people.

  • Isn't it generally known ranks matter little with skill?
I meet Survs at rank 9 way smarter than this chick.

  • @Dreamnomad said:
Also, with this many aspects of the ability if it turns out to be too one sided it would be easy to adjust one way or the other for balance purposes. If it is too easy for survivors then they could adjust it so the components are further away from each other, building the shiv takes longer, etc. Or if it is too killer sided then they could adjust the other way.

    Then that's different.
I simply said what i said based on what you gave at first.

I actually don't like what you said before though.
"You would actually reach a late game."
When i said "This would result in a lot of lategame DS's.", this isn't the response i hoped for.

    Then there's 1 more issue...
Survivors seem to generally want another objective instead of more Generator time.
Yet when you give them such objectives like hunting all Totems, they call it the stupidest thing ever.
Your idea can get a lot of backlash if it were to be presented by the devs.
Whether your idea's good for the game or not, i'd bet some money that it'd get criticism.
Though to be fair, it depends on if you even view being their target as an issue.

  • Probably fake.
And i actually hope it is fake as well.

  • This would result in a lot of lategame DS's.
To that, i say no thank you.

The devs think people have real life emergencies once every 3 matches.
If you DC at that rate, you're pretty much safe.
So yeah, that's why you get them so frequently: Cause they simply can do it frequently.

The rate has not been disclosed. Stop spreading false information.

Just cause it hasn't been disclosed doesn't mean it's false. ;)
I mean, that's why such frequent DCers still play, no?
Because they now figured out the limit thanks to trial and hearing from others about them going over the limit.

  • The devs think people have real life emergencies once every 3 matches.

  • If they're truly showing off that they're homophobic, they'll gain a temporary ban (which will eventually lead to a permanent one if done too many times) and, in severe cases, a permanent one.
"Nothing happens" means they weren't being homophobic.
