  • They really should make it so it require clearing all the totems to remove any Hex's. This would make them a priority to be hunted down prior to starting gens. Solve the totem issue and gen rush issue in one.

Desperately need dedicated servers. Massive bug on console for the past 2-3 weeks where survivor games take 20 minutes to find a killer.

Nothing about a dedicated server has anything to do with that whatsoever

  • Anything that a dedicated server would fix wouldn't even make it into my top 10 biggest issues in DBD. Dedicated servers is nice I guess though.

  • Nurse, Spirit, Huntress and hag are definitely the hardest ones. They require a lot of practice and having played the game long enough to know how survivors move and be able to predict that for hits.

Trapper and Wraith are probably the easiest. Very easy to get the hang of and not a super high skill ceiling unlike the hardest killers where the ceiling is very high.

  • You're going to use scratch marks to give you their general direction but 90% of it is all in the sounds. Get good headphones. You outplay them through listening and knowing what survivors typically do. You can stand still a lot of the time at a pallet and fake the phasing as they jump over right into you. If the scratch marks suddenly stop, they are walking to try and juke you so break the spirit phase. A common tactic is for them to try and double back on you as soon as they stop running and the scratch marks end. Most common mistake I see Spirits make is not using their spirit phase enough. You should very rarely be chasing someone down for a simple M1 attack unless you are real close. Almost all of my hits are coming right out of spirit phase.

I HIGHLY recommend using BBQ, MYC, and Stridor. BBQ and MYC lets you ping pong from hook to down over and over. Godlike on her. Stridor because she relies almost entirely on sound and it improves that even more.

Last perk slot is up to you. I would suggest a slow down perk like Ruin or Sloppy.

  • @CptainPotato said:
    Well, if that's not a bug, that is definitely a bit too powerful, as you can't run because she'll see your scratch marks, but if you don't run she'll notice you pretty easily;
I mean there's no real tradeoff to do the phasewalk when in a chase.

As a side note I never noticed that before the patch althoughI got against a fairly amount of spirits.

She's quite easily counterable. There is a trade off.

She phase walks, you walk instead of running. She can't see you and has to just guess which way you went. Not to mention you can take Iron Will so she can't hear you, or taking Spine Chill/Premonition to know ahead of time if she's phasing towards you.

You don't hear the noise if she uses the power while you're in her TR, it has always been this way as intended.

Hmm does that mean M&A can be used like Prayer Beads when in chase?

Technically in chase yes, it would make the range of her silent spirit phase larger. However, this also means that when not in chase people will know you're phasing even sooner so it's harder to sneak up.

Imo it's not worth the trade off and there are better perks for her. Luckily for me I've got over 70 prayer beads stacked up among other things so it hasn't even been an option to consider.

The audio is beautiful though. I can play so much better with her.

Yeah she's actually functional now. Her spirit phase vision still isn't as good as pre-patch but it's at least functional now as well unlike in the PTB.

Honestly, my first match back with her was a 4 man. Stridor felt way more effective on her and hearing the footsteps was awesome. I could track so well.

As did I, but that's a pretty pointless anecdotal note. Stridor and the hearing are fine and not an issue I'm referring to here.

Ok. She does feel much slower yes, you're right. I think it's a bug. Idk how the devs keep messing up killers.

I'm glad other people are noticing as well. I made a post similar to this one in the bug forums so hopefully this gets addressed sooner than normal.

What is with these survivors nowadays? I had a match earlier where someone was upset that I defended a basement with hooked survivors inside to secure kills.

"You didn't even give them a chance to escape, therefore you are a bad killer."

No folks, a bad killer is one that doesn't kill anyone.

Too many safety nets. If the devs removed or gutted some of them (Self-Care, Decisive Strike, Adrenaline, third person, looping, map advantages, offering advantages, SWF, three hooks per kill, etc.), Survivors would actually be forced to play better, and thus would be less likely to feel entitled.

This ^ basically sums it up well.

Camping isn't the sickness, it's simply a symptom of the real problem which is imbalance.

  • If you don't understand why killers dodge then you clearly don't play killer at rank 1 at all. Maybe you should to understand why.

As long as this game is as unbalanced for killers as it has been for a long time now, dodges will still happen. It's the only answer when devs refuse to balance properly.

  • +1 Agreed, he's still really bad.

Their changes did almost nothing for him at base and even nerfing the trap hitboxes.

The buffs only really came in the form of his addons, in a current balance era where many killers already are too addon reliant.

As some of the things you already mentioned:

He needs to have more traps on him at base
Traps spawn into the map armed.
More traps on the map in general.
Honestly the traps auto re arming after a set time should've been in his base kit and not require an ultra-rare. Maybe make the ultra rare just make it happen much faster.

Without add-ons her ability last for 5 seconds I believe. It’s slow and short with no add-ons, it’s been that way since her PTB. Not sure how fast you thought it was but it’s not that fast without add-ons

They were talking about the base movement speed, meaning without addons period. Seems slower than usual without the addons.

This ^ and I'm also referring to the move speed, not how long spirit phasing lasts.

  • He used addons to reduce the fall asleep timer and once you're asleep you hear his heart beat, not the "la la" any more. He's always been this way.

The "VFX" change might've included FOV.

If that's the case it would seem as unintended. I don't feel that would've made such a significant feel to her move speed either.

Yeah, definitely feels slower. Hoping for devs' response.

How's the audio? Can you actually hear survivors now?

Much better, not sure yet if it's quite the same though.

  • Is it really just because they're whining or is there actually imbalance? Think about that a little

  • Fixed. However, her move speed feels slower in spirit phase. Maybe a bug.

  • Nothing in that game would get you banned. If you were indeed banned, it was because you said something inappropriate in after game chat. You weren't banned for "being a good killer", that's nonsense.

  • She just has too many polarizing maps. Some are great for her while others are near unplayable. A lot of your game decided right at the start isn't too fun. Imo playing as and against her I don't see why she even has the "hum" aside from it fitting her theme. I think she'd be fine without it. The hatchets already require a lot of skill, she's slow and a lot of maps hindering her are by themselves quite a few weaknesses already. The hum just feels like overkill.

  • I like your changes except for Deerstalker, the perk is fine. Slugging is totally fine and doesn't need changes. There are already multiple anti-slugging perks to choose from if survivors so desire, just no one wants to run them.

  • @TRGraybles said:
They did some changes to the VFX of some characters, like Freddy's dreamworld and such maybe Spirit had some rework as well but it should be purely VFX related not actual gameplay stuff!

Edit*: Found it in the 2.5.0. patch notes:

    • Adjusted the intensity of the Spirit's Phase Walk VFX. The VFX changed due to the update to Unreal Engine 4.20 and the lighting changes introduced in 2.4.0.

Yeah i already saw that but it's just referring to how overly white her screen was before and now it looks a little better. I suppose the different vision could be making it seem slower, that just feels highly unlikely though.

but in all honesty, what the frick is happening to tru3? his recent games have been terrible (at least from my perspective), he is very good but complaining about everything and calling the game broken because he couldnt get the kills he wanted is plain stupid

It looks stupid to you because you missed his entire point. He isn't complaing "because he couldnt get the kills" he is complaining because of the games poor balance.

  • @Jack11803 said:
You sit on a throne of lies! We were complaining about him using no perks or add ons. AND HE STILL ISNT! STOP WITH THESE DAMN POSTS!

No perks or addons bar extreme outliers like ultra rares would have made any difference almost whatsoever there.

  • People have already mentioned a few but I think this is another good example to point out how overly addon dependent too many killers are. The majority of the killers are too dependent on them and need to have some of their strengths pushed into their base kits or alternatively have an easier time getting addons relative to how easy it is for survivors currently.

  • If ANYTHING crows needs more buffs, not weakening their spawn places. Also, no one taking their match seriously will ever be using Spies even after the change so this is hardly something to complain about. It would still need more buffs to have a chance.

  • I wouldnt.

His perks are trash. He's boring to play as and against as there isn't "really" counterplay on either side.

  • She's been gimped hard because of the broken sounds which is what she relies on and her vision being garbage in spirit phase now. Those are the only 2 reasons. Nothing has been changed about her speed.

I can't bring myself to play her until they fix these two things, it's bad.

  • seems fair

    Amanda's letter, it's a trash.
Losing RBTs and the reduction of the amount of jigsaw boxes are an excesive handicap.

    I agree.
They could completely remove the negative part of Amanda's Letter and it would still just be "okay". There's no reason it should give you reduced traps.

  • I don't think billy gets punished enough for misusing his chainsaw or if you outplay the chainsaw, there's almost no repercussions. I think the recovery for manually canceling the chainsaw should be longer. He has almost zero downsides.

  • You're probably gonna get a lot of people bashing on you for how ranting this was, but you are completely correct. Essentially the same awful game balance we had 2 years ago still persists today. They have done a little to improve it but barely. The game is still not even close to balanced. Unless you're playing nurse or billy you're gonna have a bad time if the survivors are swf or even just slightly competent. All the other killers rely on survivors mistakes and playing badly. If they don't mess up, there's nothing you can do. As if that wasn't painful enough to feel helpless, you'll also get tbagged, flashlight flicked and taunted till the games over and then trash talked in after chat.

Meanwhile you can play survivor and basically eat some pizza while watching some tv mid game with how easy and relaxed it is. If you mess up don't worry, you get multiple second chances as survivor.

  • @Bravo0413 said:
@Blueberry how? Almost no changes happen in the mid chapter it's all mainly just slight tweaks to the new killer and bug fixes.... we had a test for SC (thank goodness it's not going live) we have a new leader, new PTS, a "buffed" pig (not really but it's a good QOL change) we have a buff to vaulting for survivors theres quite a bit in this mid chapter where like I said its normally bug fixes and tweaks...

No real fixes for Legion yet, a couple perk changes that won't make them be seen more, QoL for pig which was barely a scratch on the surface as she needed quite a bit more, increase vault speed for survivor through windows because...why ( a change that shouldn't have even been made, windows are already arguably way too strong ), then lots of bug fixes that were simply their own mistakes being corrected...

I don't see anything exciting or to look forward to here much less it being bigger than other mid chapters.

  • @Bravo0413 said:
This mid chapter is bigger then other mid chapters... we've got perk reworks, killer changes, bugs that bhvr already knew going into the ptb... things needed adjusting and I'd much rather them put out a nice quality midchater then have PTS in the ptb state going live and having 15 second gens happening on live servers

I'd argue this mid chapter patch is one of the smallest we've had. Almost nothing meaningful.

She doesn't need much, just some tweaks.

    I'd like to see:
Remove the the sound from her ambush
Raise her viewpoint in crouch to actually match her height
    Rule Set #2 at base

Some of her addons could also use some little tweaks

    I, I like that

Her biggest issues to me are in her crouch/ambush, they're just way too unreliable. Only an idiot or low rank is getting hit with that ambush. The silence would at least give a little better chance of catching them off guard. As long as uncrouching to simply M1 rather than actually using the ambush is the preferred tactic in almost all cases, that tells you there's an issue.

  • She doesn't need much, just some tweaks.

  • They've said things like Dracula are little to "cliche" for them. That said, they've gone back on a lot of things they've said.

I'd rather them create their own blood drinking type killer rather than literally Dracula. They can put their own spin on it to make it more original and creative.

  • @LCGaster said:
This is actually pretty decent. I like the idea of him being able to travel between lockers, the ability to yank survivors into lockers needs a bit of thinking but otherwise interesting

Yeah I mean it could simply be a single damage state effect, I didn't mean necessarily a full grab on it. I also like it because it "simi" counters looping as it cuts certain ones off and makes survivors think about which loops they are using.

  • Easier fix.

Not a Hex totem (like you mentioned)
Gains tokens when a survivor is rescued from the hook and you're far enough away ie: like Devour Hope

Saying someone is gay is not bad, its the same as saying a black person is black or a lesbian is lesbian.

O course the people who say that dont mean It in that way but devs cant do anyting if the context is not clearly verbal abuse (which would be calling you something like [bad word] gay, instead of just gay).

There has to be explicit verbal abuse in order to ban someone.

    This ^ basically.

Like being offended for calling the grass green. If someone calling you gay is offensive to you, then you are believing there is a negative connotation in being gay. You don't like gay people? That's pretty homophobic in itself. Pointing out something isn't offensive, stop getting offended so easily. Snowflakes everywhere.

It's amazing how you're already dismissing this out of hand without even knowing the context. You made up a story and pretended that's the reality.

I'm basing off the context that has been provided. If he offers anything contrary then I will gladly change my stance. However, he has not. So I go off what he has said. There's absolutely nothing wrong with my statement still.

I’m not talking about the word gay.. I’m regerring to other 3

If you want to reference other words then list them, otherwise we have to just assume.

Even regardless to that they're words, I don't believe anyone should be banned over any words unless it is actually advocating for violence.

By Terms of Service however, they will be.

  • First of all, there's hardly been survivor nerfs happening whatsoever. Secondly, this game is still massively survivor sided and not even close to balanced so even if they were actually giving substantial nerfs to survivor we've got quite a ways to go before it's an issue.

  • Thanata and Dying Light are trash perks. You really should swap them out.
