Cool, so players who are new to DBD and don't have every aura perk in the entire game memorized just get to get sniped for free? The only time I see this build not stomping is against 5000+ hours players. I feel like that's kind of a problem, which is why I suggested the changes I did. I'm not even suggesting they nerf any perk or killer, just make the counterplay actually adequate. All the perks @Nightram suggested don't do enough. The best of them is OoO, Shadow Step is only in a small area.

You do understand that The Judgments power has directional sound ques right? The closer the charge sound is to you the louder it gets? If that occurs perhaps starting moving so as not to make yourself an easy target?
This is not even mentioning the giant beam of light from the sky that is visible from over 40 meters away through walls that you can watch out for?

The former is what you have to look out for most against a good Judgment because they know how to hide the beam to get it as close to you as possible for a better (not guaranteed) chance to hit you. When you hear that noise get louder drop the gen or the heal or the nose picking and simply run.

You do understand the unhook protection buff is basically because killer love to just follow behind the unhookee and get an instant down which is called tunnel which is not a very encouraging playstyle by the official dev?

You do understand that 9 out of 10 tunnels occur because Survivors use their basekit protections offensively right?
    And no, that isn't sarcasm.

  • Bro's gonna be proper tilted now the Judgment got a miniscule buff to its power 🤣

I've been playing Judgment for about 10 days now. And the MMR reset will have undoubtedly contributed to my experience playing Judgment, but still I noticed a crazy amount of survivors being salty after matches, calling her a broken/braindead killer. Berating me for using a certain playstyle, bringing certain perks, etc..

Why? Because they were not having fun. They were mostly unable to counter my playstyle or perks, probably due to not having enough experience against Judgment yet, which is perfectly understandable whenever a new killer releases.

They all had a certain level of expectations from me, their teammates, the trial itself, and they became irritated when things didn't go their way. It's almost as if they expect certain results or outcomes to just be handed to them.

This is sometimes referred to as "Survivor Entitlement". Something that I've had to deal with a lot, regardless of the role I played over the past 4 years (80% survivor, 20% killer by the way). And lately it's becoming more apparent.

So, I feel compelled to once again be painfully clear. (I've gone in a lot of detail this time for all the newer DBD players or anyone who simply needs a reminder.)

When playing public matches in Dead by Daylight, regardless of role or game mode:

You are entitled to nothing. Absolutely nothing.

For both roles, this means that during a trial:

    • You are not entitled to a favorable outcome of the trial
    • You are not entitled to only play on realms/maps that you personally like
    • You are not entitled to not see a certain character in the trial, because you dislike or even hate them

Additionally, when playing a trial as a Survivor:

    • You are not entitled to have teammates of a certain skill level
    • You are not entitled to only play against killers that you personally like
    • You are not entitled to the killer being what you would call 'friendly'
    • You are not entitled to the killer not utilizing a certain playstyle
    • You are not entitled to the killer not bringing the best possible perks and add-ons that they can
    • You are not entitled to not be tunneled, if the killer decides to do so
    • You are not entitled to not be slugged, if the killer decides to do so
    • You are not entitled to not be proxy-camped, if the killer decides to do so

And when playing a trial as a killer:

    • You are not entitled to not play against what is called a 'bully squad'
    • You are not entitled to not have survivors repair generators as fast as they possibly can.
    • You are not entitled to the survivors not bringing the best possible perks and add-ons that they can

For the parts that you can actually influence: If you do want to achieve a certain result, then you have to work for it.

You will have to put in effort. That means trying, failing, re-trying, and doing it all over again until you get the result you want. You will not get certain results or outcomes handed to you. Other players are not responsible for your fun.

And yes, I had to learn that too, because I too used to be what you'd call 'entitled'. And I'm happy to say that I've left that behind me.

So, from an ex-entitled DBD-player to anyone who needs to hear it: If you want to achieve something, work for it. Just like everyone else.

Can I get an Amen?! AMEN!

But boy howdy is this gonna tilt some folks 🤣

I'm not sure a single survivor perk should destroy a killer's build if it's fully dedicated to aura. Distortion does it's job. It saves you from aura read at certain times, and it tells you what aura reading the killer has, which can then help you play around it.

If the killer is dedicating their whole build to aura, to the point they exhaust distortion, then I think it's fair that a survivor who finds that to be an issue should dedicate more of their own build to anti aura perks.

Edit: In fact, I don't even think a single survivor perk should counter even a single killer aura perk fully. The killer has 4 perks to the survivors' 16.

Its funny how people always seem to forget that bit of Math 🤔
Besides, its always better to run a mix of perks imho, Nurses for aura, coulrophobia for anti heal, really liking Lay Waste for Gen defense and at the moment Unforseen (the one that transfers terror to gen).

Had my fun with full aura Judgment, now learning to play her in chase better. Until she gets gutted because people dunno how to press A or D.

  • The other thing you have to remember is at the end of the day this is a PvP game and as such not everyone will be happy with certain things, but you can't strive to make everyone happy because no one will be.

Could you imagine playing Warzone where you could play matches without certain guns in them?

Playing a beat 'em up like Street Fighter but never fighting against that games version of the meta character?

When you load the game and click Find Match you sign up for whatever comes, whether you're a killer vs seal team six on coms or fresh installs or a survivor against a P100 Ghoul main or baby Trapper, sometimes you win sometimes you lose thats just PvP for you.

  • Knight 100% but thats coming from the fact that he has so much counterplay that works against him that he becomes a glorified M1 killer with a couple of screaming buddies.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

Is it true it's running both anti cheats at the same time?

It must be because I have some Asus drivers that easy anti cheat flag so i have to disable those drivers to even play DBD, i figured as the trials where on i wouldn't need to do that as its a specific issue with easy anti cheat…. still got flagged.

  • Obvious flaws aside with this idea it could also be used quite maliciously to have certain killers targeted to skew data in favour of having them unfairly nerfed into oblivion. As unlikely as that sounds I could see a discord server and reddit being created for the sol purpose of just such behavior.

    ….

I think we're getting into ragebait territory so I think I'm good on this conversation lmao

Mate this whole thread is a study in ragebait, survivors don't like having to learn how to deal with a killer that breaks the status quo of killer powers and would rather face their ghouls and blights forever more.

If anything the Judgment needs a buff to the stun she has between having just cast her beam and then being able to do anything, needs to be at least halved.

  • To add, stop putting the whole onus of skill on the killer, it doesn't need the visual display, plenty of folks have already started dodging the power with ease, allow the survivors to show some skill expression by simply paying attention.

Not every killer should play the same if they did you'd have 44 variants of the same thing and that would be boring. The judgment finally shakes things up and is making things more interesting.

  • Cyberpunk 2077, Baldurs Gate 3 and Divinity Original Sin 2 are superb titles to sink hours into.
If you want some space 4x strategy Stellaris is pretty good to waste time in.

If you want horror at a slow pace Still Wakes the Deep is a solid title also.

  • @Balrog said:

Calling them buffs and nerfs can oversimplify the intention behind today's changes. For example, the curve allows for more skill expression without it being a dramatic change.

The Knight change allows for the Guards to phase through a pallet whilst dropped on them, or return the Guard power to the Knight if the pathing around a pallet is greater than 48m. This is a compromise between the phasing and how the power previously would leave the Knight without a power whilst a Guard followed a long path around a dropped pallet.

    Appreciate the explanation 👍

  • Whooooa an increase of 0.3 seconds, steady on now, these killer buffs are getting outta hand.

Honestly dunno why they felt the need to kneecap the Knight further though… guy just doesn't deserve it.

Also to whoever you are above me, Vigil still viable it just isn't completely broken now for 0 effort.

  • Gotta say trying to get the survivor achievements and getting the quests done whilst versing this killer was … difficult, the first match was a 4E 2 stage stomp, I actually felt bad for the killer.

2 spirits, 1 ghoul and a nemesis later got another judgment match, 3E and killer didnt secure a kill till 1.5 gens remaining, still no achievs but did get the play 6 matches quest finished but only ticked off 1 on the repent quest.

A Jason, a wesker and of all things a hag, finally got another judgment game, this time i had to throw myself at the beams so i could get exiled, avoided all the pillars, got freed achiev pops happy days and was able to repent ye sinners another 4E with 5 stages, poor guy just couldn't secure that kill though.

Playing the judgment however, yeah lets just say the quality of survivors is a very mixed bag. It's either going against the legally blind and deaf, or gamers so switched on their blood is pure caffeine at this point, rarely any middle ground lol.

  • Only had a chance to get 3 games in so far and managed to get Adept on the 3rd so haven't had much chance to experiment.

The only way i've been able to get any value out of her at the moment is using prayer kneeler to make her viable in short range reducing the chance survivors can dodge the beam.

Any long range shot i've made has been pure luck anything got hit. The times I made a shot at the obsession when their aura flared they were able to dodge the beam with time to spare so I am hoping that getting blind on the survivors might make it so they can't see the beam but I doubt it.

So for me at the moment it only has one addon slot because Prayer Kneeler likely won't leave the kit as long range play has been rather scuffed. Time will tell if that changes though as I'm determined to draw out some value from this killer.

  • @Arcturus said:

Would just show the average maturity of Killer Mains.

And well, if you start mass-slugging streamers, you will receive Anti-Slugging changes pretty quickly. BHVR takes the advertisement via Streamers seriously, if all you can see on Twitch is that you just lie on the ground in DBD, you will not attract new players and BHVR will solve it.

So on that note… slug all you want, lol.

Can't wait for more hand holding guess?

Also I said I wouldn't do it, but you just know this is the reaction that will and should honestly come of this because its the only way killers gonna get heard.

  • This nerf is gonna start a movement mark my words, Justice for Judgement!

Wanna know what will give Streamers (TTV's) plenty of chance to read their chat?
Being slugged for 4 Minutes, can look away all you like then 🤣

Not saying I will, but I can see a slew of killer matches getting thrown for the pleasure.

  • All the knight needs is to be able to use his Guards in independent situations, 1 Guard for chase 1 Guard for action.
Should be able to set a guard to chase and have one break pallets at the same time without the pallet break Guard despawn the Guard in chase essentially.

  • @zonkednb said:

I don't dodge, because lobbyshopping is a blight on the game, but I won't lie that queuing into quad toolbox as killer makes dodging super tempting. I know it's just going to be a mega-stressful pre-run & genrush game where I don't have one second to think. Kind of game where you can lose a gen before you've even found a survivor if you're unlucky. (This is not a commentary on the strength of toolboxes or genrushing. I much prefer playing around strong chase perks or bully squads than I do BNP + skillcheck spam.)

On survivor I don't think there's anything in particular that makes me dodge. I roll my eyes when I see certain things, such as three people with names about Wesker and the various things they'd like to partake in with him. I just know I'm in for a clownshow. Sometimes it can be funny but sometimes I'm getting bagged on hook for being the random.

Alas gone are the days of names such as "AceG@m3R 43" now its "Hex: TigBitties" 😅

But i never dodge a lobby unless its a known cheater which for me is rare honestly.

  • @zonkednb Gotta love it when clear and helpful advice gets a downvote, almost like no one wants to learn how to play a game and just expect free escapes 😂

  • Quite like the fact it plays into the regression bar rather than a completed Gen and if it gives the survivor a warning its compromised then they have to decide: Do I buff the killer or do I let the gen die.

I never use the perks mostly because its so situational to get any use out of it...better off running a good hex perk instead they're that bad.

Ditto for Legion. Knocking them out of power with a stun before they got up to speed was a huge part of their counter play in 2V8. There are endless pallets across the map in that mode but it still didn't matter to their haters and they were removed anyway.

I'm just so, so tired of calls to remove this thing or that thing from 2V8, when it's clear that absolutely everything in the mode is broken and overpowered. Oni isn't balanced in 2V8 but that's also true of pretty much everything else. That's the entire point of it. I've argued this since before Legion were removed but the community disagreed and here we are again asking for yet another Killer to be nerfed to the point that they'll be useless or boring to play as (or else removed entirely).

It's stale and lacking in variety as it is, we don't need to remove yet another Killer from the roster.

Mate they have already started on trying to get Nemesis gutted, won't be long before the only killers you can choose will be Trapper and Wraith.

  • Couldn't agree more honestly, the whole map offering system was pretty bad anyway and now its been gutted into oblivion it may as well get removed entirely.

  • More likely people are bored of going against killers that have to use tactics that the community weirdly find distasteful despite it being a PvP game and then loudly decrying "Well I can get 4k's without using such tactics" only to play killer and get stomped.

To be fair though the main issue with killer being "easy" is because of the quality of survivors.

    First downed? rage quit.

Don't like the killer? rage quit.

Don't like the map? rage quit.

Take chase, loop killer for fives minutes, no gen progress in that time? reasonably gives up because their team is lacking basic cognitive thinking.

The survivors have all the broken tools and hand holding they could need to absolutely trounce the killer in 90% of matches and yet for ! most ! its still not enough.

Also I play EU servers, my killer queues barely take 5seconds in the evening when I get in from work so dunno what to tell you about your queue times honestly.

  • @cogsturning
Ahh ok, can you point out exactly where i said it was "acceptable"?
Short answer … you can't, because i never said it was, perhaps read a bit further down the discussion where i mention that both issues being talked about are distasteful.
My point is you can't complain about one side having issues and then in the same breath disregard the other.

  • @Cetra_Guardian91986 said:

Negan would be more suited as a killer then a survivor.

I'll be honest I kinda fell off TWD at around season 3 but isn't there a spin off series that puts Negan on some kind of redemption arc?

  • I've tried sticking to one killer but find myself bouncing around a select few.

Trapper, Houndmaster, Singularity, Hillbilly, Dredge (the one I currently enjoy most), Xeno and Springtrap.

I am looking to really get stuck into the Judgment when it releases though, so much going on in that kit that will really scratch an itch.

I only play a little survivor mostly as a means to complete quests but I often play Meg, Nicholas Cage and Chris Redfield.

  • Daryl was added as a skin for Rick and I think Maggie is a skin for Michonne and if i believe what i saw during the 10th anniversary stream both Glen and Negan are coming in as survivors at some point.

I get the intention, but how would that work exactly? Would the killer like teleport over to the mori? Or would they just bleed out and the game would count it as a mori

Its 2026, i'd say the devs could make it look a little more flashy than a bleed out but I wouldn't have it so the killer teleports to mori, that'd be a bit goofy.
But this way it puts the onus in the survivors hands, do I give the killer this kill or do I make them wait potentially losing the kill due to bleed out.

  • Rather than a bleed out mechanic i'd propose something more like this:

When two survivors remain, any one survivor who is left in the dying state for longer than 1 minute can self mori, this will not be classed as a bleed out but an actual kill.

Reasoning for that is a Killer shouldn't have their adepts ruined by a game mechanic.

  • @BigKingWoof said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4105013#Comment_4105013

It happens plenty enough times for people to be raising concerns and questions about it.
And no, they don't bleed out for 4 minutes because the moved to hide. It's because they were left alone while they go find the hiding survivor.
You seem to get tilted enough to having to hit them out and not do it to solve your problem.
And yes, it's a pvp game, there will be BM'ing. You have to have tougher skin. Not sure what else to tell you.

You don't need to tell me anything, again, it doesn't bother me half as much as you think it does.
You also answered your own rhetoric, it is indeed a PvP game, and as far as I know, there is no rule against slugging either, barring the dissatisfaction it seems to cause.

I am merely pointing out that you can't say one thing is bad for one part of the game and then say well the other side has to get over it. Doesn't work that way because that is what we call a double standard.

Thrice and done i'd say, just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

  • @BigKingWoof said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4105007#Comment_4105007

So if nothing is stopping you, why is it a problem? Can you not handle seeing a crouching animation for a couple seconds?
Why should a survivor lay on the floor for 4 minutes because a killer has an ego, as opposed to 10 seconds of smacking them out?

How often is it the slug is actually down for 4 minutes?
The only time that happens is if the slugged survivor decides to slide off to gods know where and proceed to complain "ugh killer gonna bleed me out for 4minutes" at which point that's on the survivor.
Also I don't get tilted half as much as you seem to think I do about bags but then you also seem to think its about the animation, no, its about the intentions behind that action, the meaning being conveyed the only way a sore winner knows how.

  • @BigKingWoof said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4104990#Comment_4104990

so what exactly is stopping you from pushing them out though? Outside of getting too mad to even look at a crouching animation, of course.

Nothing, but that doesn't answer the question does it? Why? Why should a killer HAVE to do it?

  • @Arcturus said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4104990#Comment_4104990

I think the sentiment was the opposite, that if you don't like the t-bagging at least you're able to stop it and move on to the next game. Tabbing out and watching YouTube is not the same at all. You have no power to stop it or move on, you just have to wait and take it up the rear until you can abandon, you bleed out, or everyone else gets killed, which could be anywhere between a couple minutes and potentially a game's worth of time. And your suggestion is to just not play the game and watch YouTube instead in that period of time. I don't think that's exactly a solution or balanced if you're going to compare the two

    Still double standards.
Why should the killer have to either wait out the EGC timer or subject themselves to BM'ing and that is considered ok but a survivor cannot be expected to wait on the floor for a few minutes?

In all honesty both actions are rather distasteful but I still believe both situations are balanced in terms of misery.

  • @BigKingWoof said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4104761#Comment_4104761

You can push them out instead of standing there and getting mad at a problem you can solve

Being slugged means you can't do anything but move at a snails pace. Even if you were to get picked up, you'd get downed within a minute and the cycle starts over.

    It's not the same.

Ahh yes the classic "the killer gotta take the abuse, just suck it it up".

Nope, if the killer has to get BM'd when they lose then the survivors can get the same, dont like being slugged? Just Tab out and watch YouTube then.

There, matched energy for energy and everything is balanced once more.

Intentional waiting and T-bagging for the killer yes, but I usually wait until I see other survivors are safely on the other exit gate and can also escape. Just remember that it's not always just waiting to frustrate killers. But if you see this right in front of you then yes, you are absolutely correct.

"Always" is a strong word and I don't believe for a second that this happens to you on every match. No shot.

Ok, i'll give you the "always" might be slight hyperbole on my part, some of the time they are swinging on hooks or waiting for me to find them after they slugged off into god knows where 😅

  • "Why does the killer slug for the 4k?" I dunno chief why do the survivors always wait at the exit to give the killer some undeserved bags?

And don't try to tell me it ain't the same thing because then that's what we call double standards.

Why is killer queue times so long? Is it just me?

It's mostly down to Surviver entitlement.

No one wants to solo q only for one of their team mates to quit at the slightest inconvenience.

    First hit d/c

    Hates the map d/c

    Hates the killer d/c

    Messes up a loop d/c

Killer so much as farts in their direction d/c

Left on the ground longer than 10 seconds d/c

This is 80% of survivor issues.

  • The funniest time this happens is when a surv uses that perk that opens lockers as they run past and reveals a survivor inside 🤣

  • Would be good if you lost all 3 stacks if you hit the obsession but it would help the m1 killers become a slightly more threatening presence and it would really benefit other mobility killers because their mobility is just better anyway.

Only problem is it would be a must pick for those killers that need it.

  • Who is this Unknown killer? The one you describe sounds more like the Harmless.

Joking aside I do love the idea of playing into the hallucinations being a vector for good jumscares can kinda do something like it with the use of insidious perk but it's pretty meh.

Weakness should only be removable by interacting with the hallucinations and removed after being injured, far too easy to remove just by staring at the Unknown during chase honestly.

  • It isn't due to the hitbox rather his hit registration is out of synch half the time you're playing as him.

  • 12 months between 2v8 release to make room for different events as this one is staaaaaale.

    Add more killers.

    Bring legion back.

Escapist Class should be killer hit or vault activated.

Hard limit on survivor class picks, if killers can't have two shadows etc then survivor shouldn't have more than 2 of either class.

Tone down aura reads on both sides, takes the fun of the hunt and the thrill of discovery away.

    Add 2 more generators.

And a really controversial choice but remove cage teleports...that's hurt me more getting rescued and rescues than it has being camped.

  • It would remover too much autonomy from the player, I rather enjoyed the last chaos shuffle but with some killers you could get shafted by the meme addons eg Hillbilly and Bubbas two hit chainsaw.

You'd also have to randomise survivor items and I know some survs would be mighty ticked off if they ended up with a full stack of fog vials 🤣
